| Oh but Phedre's a cursed name, although it is very pretty. I'm glad you've read the books as well - I'm enjoying the first one a lot, so much so I've already bought the second. I thin it is only me finding the sex scenes lack lustre ... I'm half convinced they're written by someone who likes the idea a lot but probably hasn't had all that much, well, experience. I don't believe you have to have experience of something to write about it well ... but there's an edge of conviction lacking, I find. And the scenes are always sort of the same: meeting, stripping, she goes down, they whip her or bleed her, they have sex. Come on, sadism is a much more imaginative art than that. I do adore Melisande, though. She could have me any time, any day *drooling* |
