| Try Steinbeck's "Tortilla Flats", or "Cannery Row". I had read those and then, at a later date, visited Montereyi, California where the stories took place. I was amazed that it looked just as I pictured it while reading those stories. "Grapes" sucked and is depressing (pun not intended). |
