OK..let's try this AGAIN! I've set up a new diary at Vox. It's set up as http://cdwinmt.vox.com Come by and say hi when you get a chance.
from h2ophobic :
oops! I meant cdwinmt.vox
from h2ophobic :
I've set up a new diary at Vox. It's set up as cdwinmt@vox. Come by and say hi when you get a chance.
from nacwolin :
I really like MS too - sometimes they can be pains in the arse, but overall, I love that age.
from nacwolin :
Those bunny pictures are awesome!!
from h2ophobic :
I guess it's true...once a mom, always a mom!
from nacwolin :
ROFLOL over today's entry (tatas getting squished)!!
from h2ophobic :
Good for you! I guess it's not true that "what we don't know won't hurt us." I'm glad you got (and recognized) your wake up call. I'm guessing that my next physical will result in a similar experience.
from pooh67 :
Look how cute your hair is! I love that cut on you!
from nacwolin :
I love subbing - most of the time anyway! Glad you took the plunge and that it went so well.
from hissandtell :
Your little crane-making corner is so lovely. Red's (I just accidentally typed "Ed's") my favourite colour, too - especially in furnishings and decor. (I'm now sitting here singing that old Nitty Gritty Dirt Band song that goes, "There's a worn red chair by the window/That we found at a sale down the way/When some old women said that they needed more room for the winter. People like pulling at the stuffing when they sit down/It helps passing the time/Cut the telephone line and the story's the same...") Love, R xxx
from h2ophobic :
Good for you! A true friend tells you what you need to hear...not what you want to hear!
from nacwolin :
(((Bec)))
from poolagirl :
YAY! Ye have posted yer icon! YAY!
from poolagirl :
Aye! Ye have joined the Scared Shitless Hall of Fame! Email me at poolagirl@aol.com so I can send ye an icon!
from h2ophobic :
She's so pretty! I hope yesterday turned out better than you'd expected. I'll be praying for you...instead of the 12 days of Christmas, it will be the 12 days of prayer for Bec.
from nacwolin :
What a cutie - happy birthday to her! And they are the ones getting older, not us!!
from teachin-usa :
I looove Gregory Peck!!!
from h2ophobic :
GREAT Thanksgiving entry! I loved your honesty. I especially loved the fact that your family has so much fun together, in spite of the day not going as planned.
from h2ophobic :
Dear Bec, Thank you for your sweet note. Please don't think your pain is unimportant just because my pain is different. I think you're VERY brave to go back to school. I think you're VERY brave to get up every day and learn something new. Hang in there...this class will end soon and perhaps your next class will light a new flame of excitement in you. If I don't talk to you before...have a Happy Thanksgiving. P.S. Thank you for your prayers.
from pooh67 :
Excellent! Well, now you know that I have to try it too. Unfortunately, we're back to square one, as I am all alone. Unless I can teach Tyke how to read a scale in the next half-hour, I think it's going to have to wait.
from poolagirl :
Like this......"My instructor IS an asshole." How's that?
from h2ophobic :
Not a dork...a mom! How sweet that must have looked. I hope your new neighbors are great. I've missed exchanging notes with you. I read Dland when I first wake up, so my brain isn't always fully functioning. Later in the day I think of a comment I should have left, but forget it by the next morning. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you.
from poolagirl :
You are so NOT a dork!
from h2ophobic :
So funny! Good for you for getting up...missing that first day makes it so much easier to miss the next. Have a great weekend.
from teachin-usa :
Wow. What town does she live in? And what is a metor? I think her books are really wonderful.
from jenshaines :
Good luck for J in high school. That post-camp hug is the greatest, isn't it? ;-)
from jenshaines :
I'm so sorry for your friend Kevin, and I hope that the other victim of the cereal plant explosion heals as easily and quickly as possible.
from jenshaines :
I love that book site! Unfortunately, it's a black hole for my time... sucks me into the vortex, so I gave it up. I think I'll go back, lol.
from teachin-usa :
I don't know if I'd trust my husband with a watermelon. Yours must be talented.
from h2ophobic :
So funny. Nothing wreaks havoc on a marriage like home improvement projects. Every time you grit your teeth, follow up with an "I love you honey." ;-)
from jenshaines :
Sorry to hear about your SIL's miscarriage. Tell her to take the time she needs before trying again. It's a hard road.
from nacwolin :
Girl, you gave me a start for a second there! Nothing like home improvements to test the home fires - or should I see to throw a lot of cold water on them?
from jenshaines :
Hey Becahh - Whole Foods in Ann Arbor carries Achatz pies. They keep changing where the display is, though, so ask if you go in. Whole Foods is on Washtenaw near 23. Last night the Achatz display was near the breads, but last week it was near dairy, lol... they can't seem to make up their minds!
from nacwolin :
Okay, educational value aside, that giant poop chute is just SO WRONG!!!
from poolagirl :
YIKES! You posted a picture of the giant poop chute!
from jenshaines :
I'm so glad that M is back and healthy. We need more stories like this!
from hissandtell :
Your words to Miss M touched me more than you may ever realise. I truly wish we could get that message across to all girls: that they can be assertive and strong and kind and witty without resorting to being critical and sarcastic, and that they deserve never to settle for second best, and that there are far worse things in the world than saggy boobs and flabby bellies and crooked teeth. When I was a teacher, I tried to make sure that both female and male students learned not to judge others on how they look - but most especially in those physical areas which they cannot help and have no control over. Yes, surgery might make us all perfect - temporarily, at least, until we needed the next lot to tweak the inevitable effects of aging and, oh, LIFE. Shine on, sister. (And enjoy your painting...) Love, R xxx
from hissandtell :
Hello miss bec - thanks so much for your hilarious note at my place, and for reading, and for adding me to your Christmas card list. I've been reading a few of your older entries just now and truly look forward to catching up on more. And the photos are lovely - so glad you and Paige had such a fabbo time! Love, R xxx
from pooh67 :
YAY! We DID have a great day, didn't we? The kids did too. I could tell. :)
from nacwolin :
Those pictures are so great - you all look like you were having a blast! Man, now I am jealous!!! :-)
from poolagirl :
WOW! What a great day!
from nacwolin :
Congrats! A 4.0 is definitely something to toot about. Heh, that sounded kind of funny. I think you know what I mean :-).
from pooh67 :
Hugs and tears from me too! We heart you. And I'll see you sometime during the second week of August, no?
from nacwolin :
Man, no fair! That entry brought tears to my eyes. You're the best - thanks for all of your encouragement too. Hugs, and have a great birthday!
from h2ophobic :
That's why I've never bothered to set up a comments section - it seems spam is such a problem. I know Dland has is shortcomings, but I've never had a problem with notes. P.S. How are you doing with your exercise/weight loss journey?
from nacwolin :
Awwwwww! Happy anniversary!!
from h2ophobic :
I loved reading your anniversary entry. What a beautiful gift your relationship is to your children, family and friends. Yay you!
from nacwolin :
Prayer offered for your DD's speedy recovery!
from h2ophobic :
So funny! Isn't it amazing how these things make perfect sense at the time, but when we slow down, we can't imagine what we were thinking?
from poolagirl :
Your knitting is amazing!
from nacwolin :
I am sorry to hear about Barbie. Prayer offered.
from h2ophobic :
Yay for you!
from nacwolin :
Congrats on the good grades!!
from nacwolin :
Ewwwww, I hate spiders! Good use of conditioner, if you ask me :-).
from poolagirl :
The universe thanks you for being such a good mom. I do too.
from h2ophobic :
I have to admit that I laughed out loud when I saw your entry. Not at the actual entry - the title. I just can't picture you saying "shit." (giggling again) I hope today goes better for you. Good for you for standing up for yourself. Life is too short to spend it with toxic people.
from nacwolin :
I am trying to only consume 1200-1400 calories a day (I am using a food journal to keep track) and drinking at least 8 cups of water. I am also going to try to walk/run at least 2.5 miles a day (that's twice around my neighborhood) five days a week. I am incorporating stretches for my legs and fanny and some small (like 2-5lb) weight work for my arms. I've asked my hubby to blow back up my exercise ball too, so I can use that.
from poolagirl :
Oh no! Cute doggies being bad!
from nacwolin :
I know what you mean about getting back into the running thing. I ran a mile yesterday and walked 1.5 mile and I am SOOOOO sore today. Gah! It takes time, doesn't it?
from h2ophobic :
Junie B Jones...I remember her! Shelby loved her books. I liked her, but never as much as Ramona the Pest. And Amelia Bedelia - she always cracked me up. There should be funny, silly books like that for grown-ups too.
from poolagirl :
It's much funnier if you think she has a poop in her pocket. That's whay I thought it said too!
from pooh67 :
A) Dial-up. OMG. But Yay for you! It's a revolution! 2) ANY new car is cause for celebration. C) A Mac is a great computer, but a huge investment. A PC will get the job done for most people.
from pooh67 :
"A-MEN, Sister!", she said, tongue-in-cheek...
from pooh67 :
Dude. Anything Apple. Ihave a 12" PowerBook G4 that we bought when I moved home from Japan last year (2 years ago? damn.) and I LOVEITLOVEITLOVEIT! It is the best computer ever. And it is portable. And cute.
from pooh67 :
Oh. Poor T2. I feel so bad for him. Hope he perks up soon.
from h2ophobic :
Wow! You really are cleaning up and getting rid of the things in your life that take time away from what you know you're supposed to be doing. That's a hard thing - knowing the difference between what you feel you should be doing and what you know you're supposed to do. Good luck!
from poolagirl :
Tuck and Sophi LOVED seeing your "kids" as famous TV stars! YAY!
from h2ophobic :
That is so funny! I just spewed coffee all over my computer screen! Hang in there...I have a "friend" (children are grown and gone, doesn't work outside of the house, doesn't volunteer for anything, doesn't go to church) who tells me constantly that she is busier than me and still manages to make time for us to have lunch together. It's very frustrating.
from pooh67 :
Works for me... CHEERS!
from pooh67 :
Hehehe. I bet that nose trick is what impressed Alan so quickly.
from h2ophobic :
I'm sorry...that is so funny. A sick, demented kind of funny!
from nacwolin :
Oh, man, that is something about the card. I am warped, I know, but it made me laugh!
from pooh67 :
Tag! You're it! List 5 weird things about yourself and pass it on!
from h2ophobic :
Heck yeah...I'll be your accountablity buddy! I rejoined WW on Monday, so I'll be doing weekly weigh-ins. How do you want to do this? Do you plan to journal (online or otherwise) your excercise plan? Let me know and I'll jump on board. Thanks for asking.
from h2ophobic :
Very cool idea. "Do as I do"...what a concept!
from nacwolin :
Great pic! And Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!
from h2ophobic :
Merry, merry, merry Christmas! Thanks for all the moments of laughter you've brought into my life this year!
from poolagirl :
Tuck and Sophi are sitting here - getting big ideas!
from pooh67 :
Love the pictures of the pooches. The new one is so so pretty!
from teachin-usa :
Glad you asked! The standard pencil is probably the Sanford turquoise coloured pencil. Available in any art store. Pencils range in hardness. From www.dickblick.com "Sanford Turquoise Drawing Pencils Turquoise Drawing Pencils are for professional art, design, drafting, and rendering on paper or vellum. They feature a smooth-gliding, non-crumbling, durable, opaque graphite core, and a hexagonal wood case with an aluminum cap. They're available in 17 degrees (of hardness or softness) from 6B (softest) to 9H (hardest)." (HB being the middle) Choice of drawing materials also has to do with the kind of stuff they are drawing. (For example vine charcoal is fun to use-but not good for drawing detailed things) Having a decent sketchbook is also a good idea. Maybe a spiral bound one 8 1/2 x 11 to start out. Move him from notebook paper to a heavier weight sketching paper- the texture of the drawing paper catches the graphite better and is for durable for erasing and really working on a drawing. Also a decent pencil sharpener. KUM makes little metal ones from Germany- they are the best I think- and then he needs a white plastic eraser- like Mars brand. All this stuff is available at any art store or online. Any more q's about drawing- please ask-I'd love to help!
from h2ophobic :
Thank you so much for your entry. Please also keep in your prayers the day care workers. They are devastated too. I'll have to check and see why my notes aren't working. Thanks!
from hissandtell :
What gorgeous photographs - we're about two minutes from a long hot summer here, and I think I'm starting to melt already. It's lovely to see how glorious things are in your neck of the woods. Love, R xxx
from teachin-usa :
OOooo. Thanks for reminding me...the clocks!
from pooh67 :
Oh my God!!! That is so funny - it had me cracking up!
from teachin-usa :
Hi. That sucks. But...Don't quit- it will be so hard to finish if you do. You don't want to be a sub. Subbing is worse than taking classes. Start out as a first year teacher after you graduate- then you can start building up your salary. Being a sub will get you nowhere. Eyes on the prize!!
from nacwolin :
You can do it. You encourage me to stay in there. Take a deep breath, hang tight, and try to enjoy the scenery when you can (I am talking as much to myself here, LOL).
from h2ophobic :
I LOVE that you see kids the way you do! I can only imagine how TIRED teachers must get. I can only imagine how your heart must hurt when you see teachers like the one you observed. I'll be praying for you and the kids in that class AND the teacher in that class.
from h2ophobic :
I've been reading your diary and am adding you to my list of faves. I'm pretty sure I found you in Celidor's list of faves (I miss her!) I promise to be a regular reader, however I'm not too great at leaving notes/comments. Reading this boring note should be a good explanation as to why I don't leave many notes!
from teachin-usa :
Yeah, I thionk you should call her on it. Not saying anything is like accepting that it's ok to talk about kids like that. Once I heard someone referring to her toddler-aged daughters as "little bitches". I didn't say anything and still feel I should have. It still offends me. I'd be ready for a fight though- if she is abrasive anyway, saying things like that might be her way of starting arguments.
from nacwolin :
Happy Birthday!
from poolagirl :
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Did you hear that? I yelled as loud as I could!
from teachin-usa :
Happy Birthday!
from celidor :
You are a classic! Love it.
from poolagirl :
Thanks for the Christmas shopping tips! I was really worried - but this gift is so....so...practical!
from teachin-usa :
Hey there. Thanks for adding me. I love your comment about my diary- I should use your comment in my profile...that is so true and I have considered changing the name and everything or making a new one- but it's kind of funny to have a name that has nothing to do with the content.
from pooh67 :
Thanks for the props! :) But... We women will amaze ourselves by what we can do when we have to. When I flew from Tokyo to Hong Kong to visit T, I nearly lost my intestines for sheer worry of everything that could have happened to me and all that could go wrong. Afterwards, all was fine, I had a great time, and realized what a goof I was for all the loss of sleep and upset stomachs.
from nacwolin :
Beautiful pic of your girl!
from pooh67 :
OMG! Your poor baby birds! Who knew life in the backyard could be so dangerous?!
from poolagirl :
What a cutie!
from tuckandsophi :
Poor Rob!
from poolagirl :
Thanks for your lovely comments for my sister and me. You are the best!
from poolagirl :
Ron Clark sounds like quite the guy!
from poolagirl :
Your poochie is adorable! Tucker and Sophi think so too - but both of them are wondering about all that white stuff in your yard. It sure looks like fun to them!
from celidor :
You made me laugh! I like the line that you can't use! I'm sure you will do brilliantly.
from nacwolin :
You go girl!!
from tuckandsophi :
Hey! McGwire! Nice job on the arrow! It was thoughtful of you to save the suction cup for your boy. We dogs are so thoughtful.
from celidor :
She is beautiful!
from poolagirl :
Your daughter is gorgeous! Tell her howdy from Ms. Ree-Dee-Doo-Luss Pants!
from celidor :
Thanks for the happy AUstralia Day! I'll write about it in my diary - we had a fun day!
from poolagirl :
Pole dancing! OMG! I actually know a 15 year old girl who wants to do that - encouraged by her asswipe father!
from poolagirl :
Thanks for your nice comment. Kind words really go a long way.
from poolagirl :
Fried ears? I think not!
from tuckandsophi :
Hey, McGwire! Nice of you to stop by our diary! Check out our new photos. Apparently, we were scaring the dog poop out of the DiaryLand folks, so now there are real images of our cute selves. Dang! We liked being BAD!
from poolagirl :
Those grades are fabulouso! Congrats!
from nacwolin :
Good job! Those grades are great!!
from poolagirl :
Okay - you made me PEE (but I didn't flood the bathroom - thank you).
from poolagirl :
I am tearing up when I think about what you want to do for Barbie. You are an angel!
from nacwolin :
Cool snow pic - thanks!
from poolagirl :
I just started To The Nines by Janet E and I thought of you!
from poolagirl :
YAY! I just saw your picture! You look like a happy little sailor! Wanna play pirates with the rest of the goofballs here?
from poolagirl :
Nice template! YAY!
from poolagirl :
Holding you in my heart.
from nacwolin :
{{Hugs}} Sorry to hear about your pup.
from poolagirl :
Congrats on the test! YAY!
from poolagirl :
I really enjoyed your entry about fall. You gave me much food for thought, sweetie.
from poolagirl :
Oh, yes. And funny jokes and stories about poop are called scatological humor. Truth!
from hissandtell :
Thanks so much for your lovely note, darling. I've been reading your diary and really enjoying it - so I'm looking forward to keeping up with your entries. Love, R xxx
from poolagirl :
Nice entry, lady. Very tender and sweet. My heart has been touched.
from poolagirl :
Ah....yes.....I really DO play a jaw harp - just like Snoopy!
from riskypixie :
i randomly chose your diary, and your recent dog entry made me laugh. i'll be reading from time to time ;]
from poolagirl :
Okay, I'll come visit. We can all put on some ree-dee-coo-luss pants and go visit the cornflake factory. Sounds like fun!
from poolagirl :
Pilates Instructor (a.k.a. Darth) - Luke, I am your father! How funny!
from poolagirl :
Your heart is telling you something, Mizz Dead Poet's Society.
from sunnflower :
Glad the kids are quoting poolagirl. She is funny and often worth quoting. Congrats on your decision to be a teacher - we need good teachers!
from nacwolin :
Good for you for following your dream and doing what God has told you to do!!! You go, girl! :-)
from poolagirl :
Stay on your soapbox, darling. The world needs more people like you!
from poolagirl :
YES! You have eaten at the pope table! YES!
from pooh67 :
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, A-MEN to THAT, sister! I will never understand why stupid, stupid adults can't figure out why they have stupid, stupid offspring!!!
from poolagirl :
Hey! Thanks for adding me to your list! I am flattered! I am reading through your diary right now and really enjoying myself. You're right - nothing quite like eau de dogge.
from pooh67 :
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
from pooh67 :
ALSO, if there's a <center>...</center> thingy, leave that up too. It's what centers the words. xoxoP
from pooh67 :
Hey!! Love the new layout!!! I can see that you love orange as much as I. :) In the HTML for your template, you should have a part that reads something like <a href="your link here">G-Book</a></br>. Delete everything from the <a to the </a>, but leave the </br>. That is what tells the computer to make a new line. It should work... PS - Did you know that Nacwolin and Valerie have journals here too?
from pooh67 :
EWWWWWWW!!!!!! Nuts and Pilates do NOT mix. I have to wonder if those freeballing guys REALLY don't get it. Personally, I think they know and just do it for cheap thrills. Nasty.
from pooh67 :
Hello, Girlie!!! YOu'll get the hang of it! If you need any help, drop me a line. And good for you! Just say no to molten sugar!!!!
