Hey there Betty. It's been a long while since I was here.. interesting update you have there.. are you journaling anywhere else these days? (let me know if you are please) How is it possible that Boo is 8 years old?
from chickie-legs :
yo! what's up? yeah i suck at updating...
from straysparrow :
You sound very empowered in this post. I'm glad. S xx.
from bluesymphony :
Hey gal, can I have your password?
from wifemotherme :
excuse me, I was reading that. You know for the last 8 years or so. Hook a sista up will ya
from alanajar :
Knock knock. Can I come in? What's the password??
from sherpahigh :
My Mum did it too. My brothers are 14 months apart and I'm just over 2 years younger than the youngest brother... AND I was 12.5 weeks premature and had to be fed .5 oz every hour 24 hours a day until I was close to a year old. I REALLY don't know how my parents did it.
from lanienaked :
have some faith. i was a total people pleaser in high school, and didn't stop until college, and i lost my virginity my second year of college. :)
from sherpahigh :
Thank you! He seems to be a very healthy boy - thank goodness for that. Here's a URL to more photos... if you're bored haha http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=179857&l=a8759&id=580720494
from sherpahigh :
Merry Christmas to you! It's been a whirlwind few days - our first Christmas with a baby and everyone wants a piece of it. Thankfully my family lives in Montreal (a nice 6 hour flight) from here... I couldn't cope with the insanity if we had to juggle two crazy families. It was nice though and Adam got SPOILED. At 17 weeks... putting a bow on my boob would be the only way he would have noticed anything was up. Today is a stay-home-and-find-a-place-for-all-the-toys day.... easier said than done with an infant. :) I hope you had a great Christmas.
from catsoul :
Hi, I just started reading what you wrote and for myself when I get overwhelmed I do alot of writing. It just helps me to get it out there and to let it be. I came up with a mantra that has and still helps me. It is: "To let go; you need to give up control." I have had alot of challenges with my son and that has helped me in the past. Anyhoo, hello, and I hope that you keep writing. Take care. =^..^=
from sherpahigh :
No one ever told me why I couldn't give it to myself - just that I couldn't. It seemed a money racket and a pain in the bum when I needed them everyday at one point - I had to pay for the product and then pay for the act of injection (even with free health care [so to speak] some things are chargeable) plus GO there everyday... so I started going to the hospital where they couldn't charge me. It annoyed them - was a waste of their time, but it was kind of my point.
from sherpahigh :
I used to get methylcobalamin injections too and felt the same way about the cost. I also never understood why they didn't permit home injections... I would have gladly done it myself at home for nothing (excpet the cost of the product). It was suppose to be a life-long treatment for me, but since pregnancy my deficiency has disappeared. I don't miss it at all.
from mel-is-dvash :
It's good to hear from you.
from alanajar :
Hey! I haven't seen you in months! I was wondering about you and how things have been going. I kinda missed you. Glad to see you haven't disappeared.
from wifemotherme :
Please email me [email protected] I miss you
from requiel :
AcK!!! I need my Betty! Please send me the password...please!
from straysparrow :
password because of secrets? or because you switched to another website? I miss reading things from you. S xx.
from dumb1974 :
hi. hope you are doing well. i jumped in july. i only ended up breaking my back a few ribs my collar bone and my foot. spent 10 days at harborview. i miss you hope the kids are doing well. Alice
from annivate :
actually, i do. shoot an e mail to me ([email protected]) and i'll hook you up. this one isn't so private. i know you know all about that. p.s. you're adorable!
from chaosdaily :
welllll.. sign my guestbook is part of diaryland. i think it got pushed aside as there have been more pressing issues lately.
from sherpahigh :
I can't use the guestbook either.... It does suck! I should just get rid of it.
from fightn4life :
I too am tired of NO response when something goes wacky here at DL. I have sent so many "please help," e-mails and not once has even one been answered. I either give up and try something new or live with the problem. For a few days I got sick of DL when down loads were taking 10 to 15 min, leaving comments were taking extra time and opening up someone's entry took way too long so I gave up that day. I think that like you it would be a hassle moving to another site to Blog. I have a "my space" but already messed up the Blog template and have not been able to fix it. Anyway, for now I'm here, I'll see what happens in the future. Take care; hope your feeling better, Sandyz
from alanajar :
For some reason I can't leave comments on your page so I'll try here. I love the view from your house. So beautiful and serene. Lucky you! What state is that if I may ask? Oh and I would settle for at least looking 25. :)
from bettyalready :
I wasn't calling you names RON! I wasn't! I should re-read what I write because it really did look like I was YELLING AT YOU AND CALLING YOU AN S.O.B and you AREN'T! You SO aren't! DIARYLAND IS! Stupid jerk diaryland!
from captainron :
Sorry about the lack of posts. I was stuck in jury duty for a few days. Gotta do the civic duty don't you know... It was mostly a waste of time, I didn't get on a case and now my department is a mess. What fun....
from irisheyes70 :
Drat! I just left a huge comment and they are turned off. I hate that about Dland! Anyhooo... WOW! I'm so glad you updated. I've really missed you!! So tell me more about The Secret. I'm a lot more skeptical these days, but I'm totally intrigued. I give you a lot more credibility then I do Oprah. ;)
from sallydallydo :
Have you checked into services for Ben thru the public school? Our did all the therapies for my son beginning at age 3. HEAVEN. {{{{{{{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}}} for you, you are amazingly strong.
from kellbelle :
Hey there. Just wanted to let you know I'm unlocked now so you don't have to mess with passwords anymore :)
from annivate :
man. i'm still alive. i haven't been updating much. i haven't had much to say. however, happy new year.
from forty-plus :
Happy New Year!
from cardiogirl :
Hi Betty, How do these diary rings work? Do you have to be a gold member to read them? I've seen a couple that have interesting titles, but I can't get in to read them...
from sherpahigh :
you're right about Dad. I think that too... it's a hard thing for a man to believe his Dad was that way... and the guilt of a boy who couldn't change it.
from sherpahigh :
I have an incredible memory of times as early as when I was still drinking from a bottle. It's a gift and a curse... but yeah, if you want it to be forgotten, don't do it with me around... and don't tell me. *ha*. My mother fears it's memory and she says she always wondered if my grandfather ever hurt me. He died when I was 3 and she had hoped I'd escaped it. My father's sisters have tried to tell my Dad that their father molested them, but he has an image of his father he won't tarnish. He won't believe them, but he WOULD believe me. Now, no... i am not hurt by this dream/memory... it's reoccuring but I don't think it's defined me. I do feel a sense of responsibility to my aunts though... and someday I may have to write my father a letter. It's a courage thing... and never wanting to disappoint the one man I know I never could. My grandfather wasn't a bad man... he was a product of his time and generation, and it doesn't excuse the sick bastard he was, by any means... but I do understand the circumstance; he became only what he lived... because he didn't know how to change. And even if he did hurt me... and though he hurt the people I love, I don't see the room to hate him... I think back then,it's what men did. My mother was molested by her step-father... her friends were... my friends' mothers back in the day... people just didn't say it until the 80s. It doesn't make it ok, but we can't change it... Now we have to do better and raise our children to do even better than we do... and of course tell them never to be as silent as our mothers and their daughters had to be about a dream or a memory... It's all we can do.
from cardiogirl :
Thanks for adding me! :)
from cardiogirl :
Hey betty, Just found you via your banner (advertising works, go figure) and I'm hooked. Keep on writing!
from irisheyes70 :
You are the best Mom for Ben and he is one lucky little man to have you! I hope you'll be able to post more in the months to come. If just to give yourself a place to release. No, I never get tired of the snow. :) In fact, there hasn't been enough of it this year. I love the snow on all the trees and how the light (all 3.45 hours of it, LOL) reflects off it. I think I'm going to call my doc today about getting a light box. I never even thought about insurance paying for it until your comments! Thank you!! P.S. I keep trying to leave comments, but Diaryland is just postive I'm a spammer. Assclown. ;)
from xontopright :
i want to be a banner ho. how do i make banners on diaryland????

from annivate :
i think i remember an episode of frasier... mildly related to this.
from kicken :
Hey, I love the layout of your site, it's cute!
from kellbelle :
My therapist always said that if you say "should" as in "I should lose 10 pounds" then you need to ask yourself "well then why don't I?" Most of the time when you ask yourself "well then why don't I?" you will find that the answer is "Because I don't really want to". And there's nothing wrong with that. "Should" is just another form of guilting ourselves into doing things.
from golfwidow :
That reference to "cowbell" wasn't a euphemism for your undies needing more "DONG!", was it?
from candoor :
hope your holidays were great and your 2006 is your best year yet :)
from jfsuperstar :
i'm baaaack. sorry for being so lackidaisical.
from final137 :
Merry Christmas. God bless.
from forty-plus :
Merry Christmas!
from reese219 :
Happy Holidays
from kellbelle :
"Should" is a guilt inducing word. If you really wanted to, you could. So why don't you? The answer to that one is as simple as "because I don't want to". There's nothing wrong with saying you don't want to do something. I was a big should person at one time. I've done the affirmation work, too and I can tell you that if you stick with it, it will work. Email me if you want to talk about some techniques I used.
from xnavygrrl :
Betty, I've been reading your archives. From what you've said, you are really going through it right now. I have not yet figured out what you're referring to, but from someone who is also "going through it", I want you to know there is someone out there who identifies with the emotions you talk about. You're not alone. Besides your family and friends, it seems you have a HUGE devoted diaryland following. Take care, Missy.
from golfwidow :
Andrew told me I can't leave you a comment because I'm a spammer. I put in a help ticket explaining that I just wanted to say how cute the raccoons were, but you know how Andrew loves ignoring my help tickets.
from irisheyes70 :
Dude, I was banned from leaving a comment. I'm getting a complex. Here's what I was going to say: Talk about gas all you want. We all need a distraction sometime. So do you have to take out a small loan to buy a tank full yet? Sheesh. I'm freaked out about this winter because we go through a lot of heating fuel in our drafty old house. If Michael makes us wear 5 pairs of socks at a time, I'm packing us up for a winter in Hawaii!

I forgot to tell you- thank you for the aloe vera suggestion. Luckily, the IBS has been virtually non-existant since I gave up dairy and started on the enzymes, but every now and then I have a flare up. Usually stress related.

from coldandgray :
This is what he said: Thanks for the info. I actually own a TENS unit. It no longer works to relieve most of my symptoms. It seems to help only for the surface pain - and for me - only when it's on my body. The relief ends when I take the 'trods off. Years ago it did help - but I have too many concurrent systems and not enough electrodes... (think left foot, right leg, kidneys, lower back, ribs, neck, and teeth all at once and at anywhere from 6-9 on a scale of 0-10 for pain - yes yesterday and today are bad days - oh well). Interesting note on message therapy - it used to help - now it hurts me more to go then not - I do not know why - but I feel like a train wreck for a few days after. I'm going to try it for a few more appointments - but I'm not sure how many more train wrecks I can go through! Some news on the Mayo. Neuro sciences will not see me until I have a complete workup by internal medicine. Internal medicine will not make any appointments - something about being schedule full for the next 5 years. They did offer to have me come out and be put on the waiting list - the waiting list is 20 working days out (I'm not joking, and even then the receptionist said that 20 days was an average) and I have to be there on call the whole time. They would then do the physical (min 4 days in hospital). I would then go home - make an appointment with Neuro (3-4 months after that) for another minimum 4 day stay. As you can imagine - I doubt that any of that will happen...
from coldandgray :
Thank you, Betty. I knew it sounded the same. He has been suffering for 7 years, been tested for everything and all tests come up negative. He thought he had Lyme's, but tests negative. He is at the end of his rope & is giving up, his pain is too much. He is going to try going to the Mayo clinic & then he is done with tests & is planning to pack it in after his daughter graduates from high school next year. Very distressing. He is not even 40 years old. I am going to share with him what you said about your diagnosis, see if he has been tested for that yet. I feel for you, because I see how hard this has been on him & I know it is awful for you, too. He lives in a podunk town in Northern CA.

You are hilarious! You said "it rebels." I pictured a bunch of little pink pills on harleys doing peel out u-turns away from a set of fallopean tubes saying "We are NOT going to bow down to the man!" I have a really weird imagination.
from almostnormal :
Oh wow! If you missed that I'm all with the knocked up, you missed the best part. The due date is THE SAME DAY as Sadie. It looks like I'm fertile one day a year...but I'm still not sure exactly which day. Blessing? Curse? We're still trying to decide *laugh*

from timespace :
Betty! I love that you had so much to say, I appreciate all the thought you put in to it. It is for sure an awful positon to be in & I hope it never happens to me again. I have written the conclusion, if you want to find out what happened.

thats quality. are they doing that in all states?

I need your help with something. Please go to my other diary: http://timespace.diaryland.com/

What bothers me about my m-i-l asking me to do it is she has never directly acknowledged Jax's passing or how I feel/am doing. Never. She told me someone else told her she felt bad for me, but m-i-l has said nothing. I guess some people don't have the ability or want to step outside of themselves. P.S. The way you continued to steam about a situation ... so like me!
from annivate :
racoons are wretched. there is this creek that i like to ford because if you go far enough there is a nice little waterfall and it's deep enough to swim in. one day about two weeks ago i was waking up it and there were somewhere in the ballpark of about 100 slaughtered fish lying on the rocks that were peeking ouf ot the creek. they picked at their eyes and their stomachs and just left the rest of them there. they're sort of like humans...
from almostnormal :
Thanks for the well wishes. I'm so sorry about the chickens. I had two pet chickens when I was little and a stray cat got 'em. I'm sure it doesn't feel too much different as an adult. *hugs*
from untamedwings :
Hugs. I know you loved your chickens.

I seriously had to backspace everytime I typed "Sliver" because I kept typing "Silver." It was an abomination. Er, you know - annoying. :)

drunk talk is the best. i too, would have removed my shoes, but i opted for the less formal look and wore my converse.
from chaosbean :
If you have a sally's nearby, they have the lightening kit and the hair dye (Generally they have the dye...they always have the flash lightening) and its a fair sight cheaper usually. And they have gloves and other fun things. Of course at either place you still have to deal with the "I'm better then you" additude from the people working.
from annivate :
HAHA. recreational, strictly recreational. vodka mixes perfect with lemonade. not so well with the whitening strips.
from chaosbean :
yeah, hot pink is great for fair skin, and Special Effects makes a great hot pink. I only know this cause nobody had manic panic or punky colour in hot pink and I needed to do a friends hair for halloween...they make a great hot pink, but thier other colors...not so much.
from annivate :
if you have a light complection, hot pink looks great. i used to have it myself.
from janie12975 :
Ack! 10 years old getting notes from boys! No notes so far with my 10 yr old, but I did notice she is getting arm pit hair, and when I asked her if she is getting it anywhere else she shreiked, "Mo-om!!" I took that as a yes. LOL
from treedreams :
Thanks very much for your kind note. It means a lot.
from chaosbean :

from forty-plus :
Oh yes, and I love them. Why? Are you thinking about getting one?
from requiel :
hey Sweetie! Thanks for the note, I've been wicked busy, I just can't seem to have any time to get on. Sorry, I'll repent and leave a great entry today. K? Forgive me?
from annivate :
ohhh... diaryland trash talk. i'm curious about this banner now.
from la-the-sage :
I tried to leave a comment but your comments said 'banned'. Did I do something? ~LA
from forty-plus :
Hubby is not mad at the specialist at all! I think he has a suspicion our regular vet didn't do everything she could have to avoid Jax's death, but I think he is just asking questions about Jax's ashes and the $800 deposit I made on Monday before we knew he was going to pass. Hubby is very logical and businesslike ... unlike the writer of this note!
from caffeinegeek :
You own the domain. Diaryland directs your site tot hat domain. My guess is that since you ownt he domain through another service you can also transfer it to another site.
from caffeinegeek :
That's just ridiculous. I'm actually really annoyed with Andrew over that, especially after all the crap it took to set it up.
from missleigh :
I have thought about that, and man, I hope not! I feel so bad for you having to deal with such things. I actually have a suspicion that it may be hormonal, and I'm going to start a progesterone cream. *crosses fingers*
from obsesses :
i think (if i understand correctly) that when one clicks on a banner, the owner of the banner sees that one clicked on it. or something. i don't know. whatever. so fyi, i clicked on your banner because i LOVE tampons. they've changed my life... or at least one week out of every month and a half or so.
from tiggersnail :
Haha. Your latest entry (tampon talk and colon cleansing) was most amusing! I'm adding you to my buddy list pronto. I was thoroughly entertained AND educated all at once. Amazing.
from mugwhump :
Thanks for the Keeper info Betty. Sometimes I feel very naive at the ripe old age of 41. You've opened up a whole new world. :-) LJ
from forty-plus :

i fight the urge to contact him several times a day. i've gone through this before and the first time i swore i would never forgive. infact, i told myself that i would never forgive someone for doing what he did to me, before we even met. but i could spend a lifetime dwelling on it. i won't.

My monitor died and I have been working 60 hours a week while also preparing legal business that takes up far too much time. That has not left me the proper amount of time to give to my journals and with Diaryland so whacked this year I have been standoffish about writing. Diarylands "Andrew" has done a truly incompetant job on this site. I am will be writing more as soon as I get a new monitor though and finally putting out banner ads which I have about 75,000.
from missleigh :
Ah, stress eating. I know that well.
from almostnormal :

I have the link to my portraits in my entry this morning. My top two pics are on the buzz.

This is my third time honey. Sometimes I'm really ashamed by that. I was really young the first time and he was a lot older. I had no idea what I was getting into. And it didn't last very long. I'm not wanting school full time. Maybe just a night class or an online course to keep me feeling smart and worldly ;) hehe
from kellbelle :
I don't really do all that much. I'm actually kind of bored lately and have little to do other than clean my stye of an apartment and goof on the internet and do crafts. Girl Scouts don't meet over the summer. But yes, I do beat myself up a lot.

from jfsuperstar :
hey, i'm bugged about the TS case too. i just learned that she had her heart attack/brain damage because she had been bulimic for many years. so sad. the irony of course is that she got that way because she didn't want to eat, and now her parents are still trying to get her to eat and drink water through the tube in her stomach. i feel mixed up too. the case sits too close to home--i'm a recovering bulimic that has been in remission for a while. when i used to make myself vomit, i wondered, "will this be the time my heart stops?" i'm still shuddering.
from kellbelle :
Thanks for signing the guest book. Joyce was a really special lady. She was my mom when my own mother was too busy and going through things of her own. She sent me on retreats in high school, she was matron of honor at my wedding, she was friend and counselor. She was a lot of things to me and I will really miss knowing that she's not part of this world anymore. She taught me that people are stupid, self indulgent creatures. When people suffer, some choose to ignore the lesson. Others learn from the pain, learn to let go and love anyway, learn to see all the colors including the black and white.

Love the Burrito Ben pic :) Hope you feel better soon. Being sick with kids running rampant is so tough.l About your note yesterday...it's not that he actually puts pressure on me. I think I've set myself up over time. I put pressure on myself (my own worst enemy)to do it all & usually do. After years I think he has forgotten how tough the juggling act is & sort of takes it for granted. Typical man.

Great banners -- I keep clicking and finding myself at your blog!
from breathtaken1 :
Oh thank you for adding me to your list. And with four kids, one of which is a newborn, I am impressed that you even have time to think about this!!
from requiel :
I love your diary! I saw you were listed as a fav on two of my absolute favorites so I had to come see. :)
from missleigh :
...oh yeah, and you certainly can link us! We would greatly appreciate it!
from missleigh :
Oh, that was YOUR Lee!! Aww, I wish I would have known that before I packaged it up, you would have gotten a better special prize then just a lotion sample. Thank you for the order! You will love the marshmallows, trust me. Boo will be bouncing off the walls.
from janie12975 :
Lovin' the new 'do! Here I am trying to grow mine out, and you go tempting me with an adorable short 'do.
from bluebonnet :
I like the new layout. Your short hair looks great! I'm a little jealous!
from forty-plus :
I know! What was Sly thinking? :)
from bluebonnet :
Boy, Ben is CUTE! I used baking soda in my last load of towels, but I was half asleep this morning and forget to take a whiff. If I missed that gross smell maybe it worked. Thanks for the tip.
from pashiesplace :
Aww poor Gia. What an intro to sex & what damage control you are stuck doing. Love the pic of Ben. He is adorable! Hugs.
from freshhell :
Adorable, adorable children!

hope your Valentine's Day is full of love :)

Not many people know the song St. Teresa, I LOVE IT. Glad to see someone else does too!
from nmnohr :
I just want to grab him and kiss those adorable little cheeks! He's absolutely adorable :o)
from myexodus :
If Ben continues with the gas/colic...get catnip oil. I know it drives cats wild, but it has the opposite effect on children. Dip his pacifer in the oil and let him suck it off that.
from goldieknox03 :
yeah really. and the song about " i wish i had a c***" that was clever. Ps. I call 'em binkys too. What else would you call them
from goldieknox03 :
thanks for adding me to your buddy list!
from nmnohr :
I really hope you start feeling better soon. Being sick and having to take care of a new baby, is just too much work for one person!
from bluebonnet :
I call it a binky too, why is that wierd to other people? ;) I hope you have a good day!
from kestra :
I kept meaning to say the tonsils thing was so weird, because I had the same thing happen when I got the strep this year too. In fact they became so enlarged, they were sitting on my tongue, and setting off my gag reflex, so I kept coughing, even though it wasn't the traditional reason for coughing... It just felt SO WEIRD! Darn, I'm so sorry to hear you're not better yet. It took forever for Allyn to get over the strep throat too, even longer than I did when I didn't have antibiotics to work with and he did. Weird, and totally sucks I know. That quiz was scary! There were ***775*** results for my first and last name! That'll learn me when I think "Melody" is a unique name. :-P Apparently nowhere near unique enough! But if I change my name to Allyn's last name, I'll get zero results! Yay! And I agree with the rooms thing - bathrooms tend to be too small! And no room is too big, HAH, I wish I had that problem! In fact we need MORE room in our apartment. I can't wait until we move into a house... not anytime soon, but I mean in the future when we can anyway. And who the heck only has one third-grade teacher? I had several different subjects, therefore several different teachers, and there's no way I'm remembering just one of them! I can barely remember yesterday sometimes... or 2 seconds ago when I set down my keys. LOL But I do know my favorite donut is Boston Kreme! Yay for Chocolate and Creme filling! I like the sprinkles too, because I love all the pretty colors. This was such a deeply thought-out survey! Dang, it's not even like I ever get donuts though... It's so sad... It's even sadder to be sick and thinking about donuts that you can't eat!! :-( The only thing worse is thinking of cheesecake, and for me especially, pumpkin cheesecake! I'm bad, I'm sorry!
from starlight42 :
I'm such a jerk...I haven't been around much lately & I just saw the pics of Ben! He is the most beautiful baby!! He's so perfect. I hope when I have a little one he's so cute. Congrats!!!
from pashiesplace :
Ewww strep sucks. I have huge tonsils normally too. I always get the, "Those are the biggest golf balls-I mean tonsils I've ever seen!" comment from doctors. Feel better!
from straysparrow :
"That's funny, even though my spouse has a sibling, both he and his sister are like this." Way late I know, but I've been thinking about this whole only child thing. My roommate is like that as well. It would never occur to him to get me a glass of water, or even ask, and he also has a sister. I can at least understand why an only child (who is the apple of his divorced parents' eyes, and never even has to share his parents with each other when he is in town) might learn that the world revolves around them, but my roommate with the sister intrigues me. Then again, it was his parents who came to vist and broke my favorite mug and hid it back in the cupboard, instead of fessing up. So maybe he's not so weird. Have fun with Baby Ben (and the others of course). Cheers, Sparrow.
from nmnohr :
Yeah, so I'm the biggest Ass ever. I've been so out of the loop with being off a lot of this month, and not having a computer since I haven't been at work........I never even said congrats to you. I'm such a moron. So Congrats!!!! He's absolutely adorable - but you knew that already! I'm so happy for you, he's a complete doll.
from mystical76 :
Thank you!!! I just feel so crazy!!! AAAAAAA!!!
from bluebonnet :
If you use huggies they could be the culprit. I noticed that if you don't put them on "just so" it's like not having one on at all.
from mystical76 :
OK, you should send some contraciton vibes my way or something. I'm so tired of being pregnant! Ugh.
from angelmum :
ok, smack me upside the head, I'm bad... I can't even remember if I even knew you were expecting and now I see that you have a wee little boy! I must have been stuck under a rock somewhere. Congratulations on little Ben (sorry I am late- please forgive me? )

I was so thankful I was right there the first time Oldest Son let loose when Hubby was changing him. I had warned him repeatedly and he just didn't believe. The look, the dance, the foul words: priceless!
from coconutbug :
Hey, guess what. I can tell you what tapas is. I once went to a tapas bar in California and freaked my family out when retelling the story because they thought I said topless! Anyway, it is spanish cuisine, kind of appetizer-like portions, and you order several different things and share them with your friends. It's a style of food more than the food itself. There are plenty of veg options. I saw you mention LA--there is a really good tapas place in Claremont, just outside LA. I don't remember the name of it. (This is in response to the list of food.)
from bluebonnet :
Oh he looks so sweet, and BIG!

I've already called our godsend marriage counselor this morning. John says he dumped her very early Feb. & the last time he was with her was 2 weeks before that. She called in June to borrow his car & when she showed up he had already done the math knowing she'd have to be 2nd Tri. if it were his kid. She wasn't even showing, said she was almost 2 months & then told him about the other guy. He believed her but he knew I'd have a hard time believing it. Somehow I am believing him, but that doesn't stop the desire to choke him.
from pashiesplace :
Yeah, obviously she gets around & learned NOTHING from being a mother at 17.
from pashiesplace :
Oh, you just brought back the non-joys of pregnancy for me. Walking was so rough those last few weeks & my kids never dropped til later either! I love mini trees in the kids rooms. They love having something lit at night to look at. Hugs.

from pashiesplace :
It's funny, as much as I wanted a boy, the thought of one scared me. I've always been around girls so I thought, OMG how do you even clean a boy?! On the baby clothes...if a line that I love is priced silly I'll get something small if I can like booties or whatever then make them a special thing. One that gets saved after its outgrown!
from kestra :
Okay, I was worried about having everything in blue before my first son came along. I thought that was too restricting! Not that I would put the poor kid in pink, but I do think that sometimes we go overboard with the only boys this and only girls that! But I've found plenty of colors for kids clothes, especially now that they're getting older. I found later that I didn't mind blue as much. After all both of them ended up with blue eyes, so blue clothes would match their eyes. Isn't that totally a girl thing to say? Oh well. LOL And I've gone BOTH ways on the circumcision issue - circ'd our first son, and didn't circ our second son. Do I sound indecisive? LOL I let the dads make the decision, that's why. I figured if anybody could have sympathy on that kind of thing, it would be a man. Of course I am hearing weird things on TV lately like, oh we just figured out that babies feel pain too! How could you not know that? What do you think they're doing when they cry after you prick them with a needle? Given that, I don't think I should have left the decision in the hands of anybody other than myself, because who knows what kind of stupid ideas people have! But anyway... I have to admit that I was under the impression that without the circumcision, taking care of the pee-pee would require MORE care and I wouldn't know how to do it, but after having done both, I found the opposite to be true. It was a lot of work to care for a wounded pee-pee, keeping it wrapped up and putting vaseline on it! Without the circ, it was just soap and water for bathtime, and it's really easy too, not difficult at all. I did feel bad after making that decision for my first, for making that kind of pain the FIRST thing he experiences in life. I hope I don't offend when I say this, but I think it's totally blown out of proportion the idea that if you don't circ now, you'll have to circ LATER. Even in a situation where a person was having such problems with a part of their body that they had to have it removed, which is not the everyday norm, like I know I've never gone through that in my lifetime... but since you worked in medical claims, you'd think people were sick all the time, and we know that's not true! :) But still, if, say, it should happen, I'd rather not place my BABY under the operation sooner than necessary - but ESPECIALLY since it may NEVER be necessary. But I have to say, given that I've made both decisions, I am so much happier with my second decision. I know it's not always accepted in America, but I'm glad that I did it for him, that I prevented him from having to go through that right now. I must have been asked a million times in the hospital when I was gonna have him circ'd, like I must have just been forgetting something.... LOL They do make it hard to say no, unless you're just really dead set against it, and are willing to say the word no quite a few times!

thanks for reading the PETA entry...i'm done being angry at them, but damn...at the time i was so PISSED. feels good to be validated. thanks for reading, and keep the love coming. hope the baby is doing well....
from kestra :
Oh yeah, I was originally coming to post a response to your guestbook message, and forgot.... lol... Well the luggage thing came from something Allyn said about my concerns over carrying 2 kids on the bus, and he said, "well just treat them like they're luggage," and then it won't be such a big deal. Sometimes that guy comes up with the dumbest comparisons! I think he shouldn't be allowed to make any comparisons/metaphors anymore, because he abuses them! ;-)
from kestra :
I know it's gotta be frustrating when you're the one dealing with it as opposed to just the one dispassionately reading about it. So just remember that when you're reading my note! I don't judge your frustration here. But, I think if you removed all the frustration you have about it when you speak of it, and say it objectively as a suggestion to try using clothes like pjs or overalls on the guy, then it will not be nearly as hurtful as you think it would be. Of course I could be wrong about your sister's sensitivy, but sometimes the WAY you say something (as in expressing frustration) means a hundred times more to somebody than WHAT you're saying. I'm that way, so that's why I mention it, and I think it's hard for some people to understand that the way you say something means just as much as what you're saying, because the way you say something conveys its own ideas of approval/disapproval. Another idea that would be even nicer than just saying it "nicely," and that would be to buy him something like pjs or overalls and explain your reason for buying that, because when he's in clothes like that, he can't get out of them. I guess this is assuming that the problem is just that they don't know, and if they do know and still don't think of it, I don't know how to tell you to keep reminding them because that probably would not go over well. In that case, you could just keep the clothes like that over at your house and switch him to those when he comes over. And, I have to agree, you have a different level of acceptable between guests in your home and not guests in your home, such as it's okay to be naked when there are no guests, but when guests are over, to make a conscious effort to keep him clothed. The rule is you can dress however you like at home with no guests, and you can have your house looking however you like when you're not entertaining guests, but all that goes away when you have people over. I have found, though, I'm less freaking out about having things perfect depending on how comfortable I am with that person. (Maybe it's not good for me to be comfortable with you then! LOL) As far as your mom goes, if my kids had trouble with NOT touching the knick-knacks they leave laying around, I would be very tempted NOT to come over! I would probably be all stressed out having to discipline them every 2 seconds and it would make the visit not enjoyable. So yeah, I guess I do think that they should make an effort to not keep things within their reach when they come over. I know they're getting old and it's an effort, but if it's important to you, you make that kind of effort. Plus even if you had them disciplined about that kind of stuff, they'll still try to test those limitsm and you can't always be watching them like a hawk, so something is bound to happen eventually. That's why I'm in favor of removing the opportunity from kids about touching my stuff. This is just my opinion, though, basing it off of my experience with trying to keep my kids hands off stuff when they're 16 months old and 3, almost 4, years old. Admittedly I have a lot more luck with the oldest, but then if this kid is suffering from my autism, you can't treat him as if he's normal and trainable within his own age group.
from mystical76 :
Oh, oh, oh! I didn't realize you left me FOUR messages! Hahahaha! Anyway, the baby's name is not really Falcon. But his middle name is similar to Falcon. Additionally, my step-daughter's name is not really Star, but her middle name is similar to it. Greg wants me to keep the kids totally anonymous - no pics, no real names. Yeah. But the real first name for our son is rather original, too!
from mystical76 :
Oh, creepy, man! I mean, about the health insurance company. Originally, when I started, it WAS an HMO. But then a software company bought us up. The software company lets other health insurance companies use its software. The basic is just licensing, but companies can also choose to have it hosted. Or, they can go beyond that and get IT support, as well. Or they can get even more - they can choose to have said software company (us) pay their claims, adjust their claims, do front-end keying, etc. So, my office is the office that handles all that for about 5 different insurance companies. Other insurance companies could even take it further and have us to their Customer Service and/or UM/referral/pre-auth/med review. No one chooses that, except for the little client who we used to be (yeah, ourselves!) - that product is now owned by the Blues in Maryland and is shutting it down at the end of the year.

from purplemama :
Thanks for stopping by my notes again! You're right...is IS my sister's loss to not be a part of my kids' lives. It makes me sad though because they shouldn't have to be aware of her feelings. I guess I can't protect them from all of the hurts of the world, can I?

I'm always astounded by the immaturity of some people. Oh yeah, take their sign down, they'll really change their vote that way. Stupid. I remember reading an article where a woman had a Kerry bumper sticker on her car, and somebody keyed her car writing Bush on it, so now she has to drive around continually confused about who she is voting for. :-) Mostly what I get from the Kerry people is we were lied to about going into Iraq, and from the Bush people, we wouldn't be safe if we didn't go into Iraq. People are really getting into this election, and I think we'll see a higher voter turn-out. There are some negative side effects to people becoming more politically involved. Some people get so into whatever THEY'RE feeling about something that they don't consider how others feel, like they don't want to be made to feel like they're a complete retard, or told that they're an unpatriotic coward. People are so weird in what they think sometimes! :-P Just curious, but why put a star in the middle of a name you misspelled? It's Heinz like as in Heinz ketchup... but anyway. lol I was just thinking you might do it to prevent certain search engines from picking it up, but it doesn't make much sense if you don't spell it the same way as everyone else would. ;-) And totally, that woman is such a priss. She makes me laugh, some of the faces she makes.
from annivate :

I found you through leslieirene and had to drop you a note. I've got chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia too, and I know exactly what you mean about feeling guilty. I hate being so exhausted that it feels like my body is screaming for a nap but feeling too guilty about it to just lie the heck down and take one. Just remember you didn't choose to have those illnesses. You're no more at fault or in control of them than my diabetic doggy Aph is in control of her blood sugar! So snuggle down and have a nap the next time you need it, because Aph says you should and her word is law, you know. Also, I love your diary. I'll definitely be back for more.

I love you!

Congratulations on the new baby. I do hope the morning sickness passes quickly. Barbara
from la-the-sage :
WOW! Mazel tov! Babies are Very Good News indeed. Sorry you're so poorly right now. You have all my sympathy, with me it wasn't morning sickness, it was 24-7 for 5 friggin' months sickness. May yours pass quickly. Congratulations, again. ~LA
from myexodus :
Thought I'd leave a note. My words ended at the neurotic one and I have since moved. Have you sent out a new link to us readers yet? Or have I been forgotten? =*[
from neurotic-one :
Some people remember the pain of neglect and abuse and choose never to subject another person to those pains. Some people view themselves as victims and remain in that muddled world to continue. Then you have those that rise above and decide to help others learn to rise.
from la-the-sage :
People come out of Hell decent because it's the only way to survive. Being a good and honorable person is the only way to carry the burden laid on you when you had no power to help yourself. ~LA

from bettyalready :
Know exactly what you mean. She just wanted an outline so she could get an idea...She took stuff out, I just threw stuff in there and then on my draft sent to her, I put in notes like (that might have been too harsh). Shit like that.
from spritopias :
I'd revise the parts where you slam the hospital OUT of the letter because I think if you took the tone of "the hospital is a good employer" and "I like to work here but..." it would get you further than attacking both.
from la-the-sage :
Thanks! ~LA (PS: Glad you updated.)
from neurotic-one :
Yay for the Job! Build A Bear is great....not so great during a hot flash...all that stuffing in the air and on me. As for your D have her contact Labor Relations with your State...she may incur the wrath of her Employer and HR Department.

I miss you hard. I love boo, who doesn't love boo? What the hell? Can I beat them down?

They have found that being on Effexor can actually lead to suicide. And it's one of the most common Ad's. Pretty scary. Glad you weaned yourself off. I was on it too, and going off it was HORRIBLE.
from moodymama :
Be careful with the effexor withdrawals. I got really sick and almost had to go in the hospital. Hope you feel better soon. :o)
from sunnflower :
Sadly, I am on the Do Not Call list. I signed up the first day. It doesn't seem to be helping!
from poolagirl :
Hi! Welcome back! I have waiting for you to update! Glad to see you back!
from sunnflower :
Hi - Sorry that you are having so many health problems. I just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you. I think you are right and that people do avoid you when you have a long term illness sometimes. Maybe it scares them, maybe they just can't deal with it for some reason of their own. I know that doesn't make it easier for you. Hugs.
from fuckmenow222 :

from alternamommy :
I *love* Babar!!
from poolagirl :
Nice layout! YAY! How fun!
from spritopias :
Yes! Betty you must go get that book and for safe keeping give it to Boo! She will cleverly hide in under nailpolish or crayon wax keeping the original content entombed, safe, forever under her genius abstract art!
from bluebonnet :
I really like your new layout, though I might miss the old one :) I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
from sunnflower :
I absolutely love your new layout. Happy Thanksgiving!

K-Mart in San Diego - cheap hummingbird feeders. Whole lotta fun for $2 and some boiled sugar water.
from adipose :
Finally back, and with a new long entry that I would love your response on. I consider you a very careing mother and would respect what you have to say. And thanks for looking for me.
from acceptance :
i like your style.
from ineedawife :
I don't mind the nicknames. . .except it took me several entries (more than that maybe) to figure out all the nicknames were not all different children. I thought "My word, this woman must have three dozen children!" (Honestly? I still haven't figured out how many of those little Boo's are running around. I'm a bit slooooow.)
from poolagirl :
I went to Coldstone for the first time the other night. Didn't really grasp the "concept" and ended up spending $15 for three small bowls of ice cream. Pisser!
from catpewk :
Hey you :) I used up all my banners today to help a friend get his songs heard. Please could your drop by my page if you get a chance, listen and leave a comment (good or bad?) Thanks! Catpewk
from spritopias :
where I have you been all MY life?
from spritopias :
For you there is always an exception.
from spritopias :
I have manic depressivfe bi-polar disorder and if I ever see you on the street I will give you a big hug because you always make me smile.
from lealoo :
My mother breeds siamese cats, and at the moment she has 12 kittens at her house. It sounds like this kitty is pretty young, and maybe only recently started eating solid food. My mother's kittens always go through a "poopy problem" stage when they first start eating. It's a big shock to their little bellies. But on one or two occasions she's had kitties with, um leaky bums too. The vets told her that when kittens start eating they become suseptible to illness and often a one time dose of antibiotics will help them get over any bugs and clear up the tummy problems.
from poolagirl :
The poor kitty! You might want to try this link: http://www.cats-and-diets.com/html/feeding_kittens.html It also warns about NOT using cow's milk to feed kittens. Hope this helps.
from mightymaeve :
ok..final note for the day....on the topic of your answers to my 'romancenovels' survey: (i loved your comments, AGAIN, do i need to mention that?! :) I just finished 'Tempest in Eden,' by Sandra Brown. I'd recommend that one. It's a light read but it does have a good point. The main man fits your description of hunkiness. **le sigh** The woman is petite and society-standard beautiful **gasp, what a shock** but the point of the story is that you need to be loved for WHO you are.
from mightymaeve :
God, i love you! I just finished reading your answers for my 'dareto' survey. 'Even if he doesn't know, he knows' -your words in regard to him knowing you...that was just so marvelously expressed. I like the 'smile' reason you gave for why you love him too. You make me smile, girl!
from mightymaeve :
I'm still laughing at the answers you wrote for my 'firsts' survey. I especially love the way you described the birth of your first child. The 'ticked off' bit and the 'finger in the eye' bit. Can i so see it?! I love it. ***mmphhh -still smiling***
from fcprincesse :
where do you live? for some reason I thought you were in the same time zone as me, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
from ineedawife :
Not that it helps, but I think many marriages are the same--the man "works" and the woman "doesn't". Therefore, once the man gets home, he is on downtime. The woman, who DOESN'T work, is always on duty. I could go on and on with what I have learned. If you ever want to whine and email, you've got a backup here. Been there, done that, 21 years. Hang in there. We're all in the club! (PS Have added you to my favorites. You are one funny girl!)
from missleigh :
Oh, at least I know my hair issues are not related to malnutrition in any way. I do have a feeling that it's hormonal. All I know, is that I want it back! :(
from fcprincesse :
I'm really sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about in the note about the dolls. I think you must have meant to say that to someone else :).
from cruel-irony :
I HATE the chronic fatigue. I HATE being tired all the time and I HATE the exhaustion! I've been having a hard time keeping up with everything lately but I have been getting more sleep. Oh, and Extreme Makeover is freaky to me too. Beauty comes from inside, not the outside.
from caspia :
To make a long story short. I live with my dad because my parents are divorced. After living with my mom for a year, my dad appealed to allow me to choose who I wanted to live with. My mom lives in MA, and that wasn't what I wanted, so I chose to come back to MN, while my sisters stayed. Not so fun.
from grimm0826 :
I'm used to Texas weather still, so Indiana doesen't really make me sweat. But when I lift weights...have a towel handy. And a bucket. Tests stress me out and make me sweat, as well. Congrats on the score, by the way. 69 words a minute! Wow! I think I'm at about 45 wpm, and I am supposed to be (or was once supposed to be) a professional. I'm impressed!
from missleigh :
Oh man, giving up wheat is hard! I did it once for an elimination diet...sucked. The migraine is gone finally, and luckily I only get those that bad about twice a year. I don't know what I would do without my chiropractor, she keeps my head from actually exploding.
from cruel-irony :
When I get a moment, I'm gonna send you an email. We have A LOT to talk about. For now, I'll just say that "But you look OK" are fighting words as are "How are you?" and "Are you ok?" But, I've learned to neutralize them and now I only hear "whaw, whaw, whaw, whaw, whaw". That's a long road though. I'll tell you whatever you want to know about that. Meanwhile, I'm gonna sneak off and add you to my favorites...
from cruel-irony :
Hi there. I read one of your comments in Trance's diary which mentioned that you have fibro. I do too! So, I thought I'd come over here and check out your diary. I'm glad I did because I'm really enjoying it and I can RELATE! I'm sorry you have fibro and CFS though - that sucks. Seriously.
from grimm0826 :
Have I ever mentioned that I love animals? (Except for wombats, that is...) The seal sounds adorable! Sorry to hear about the squirrel, tho...
from caspia :
Thanks for the support. I know there are intelligent people out there who can really apprieciate MASH. I'll be back to check out your diary.
from godmoney :
i read the one on $ issues... totally know what that feels like... having to give my friends alternate excuses to why i can't go to the movies, and why i can't eat out at the mall, and why i can't go to such-and-such show when we just went last week... keep on.
from p-brain :
Oh. It was *your* diary that changed. I clicked the link yesterday without checking the link. Today I couldn't remember who it belonged to. *smacks forehead* Stupid! It looks very nice ~ I have a favour to ask you. Read the first bit of my entry and follow the "instructions". I need feedback for a project regarding my friends in here. You're one of them.
from grimm0826 :
Cool new layout!!! I was going to say so in your guestbook, but signmyguestbook.com is being a butt today...
from iluvtunes :
Damn..I messed up my heart! Let me try that again: I ♥ raw foods!
from iluvtunes :
hey..go to my diary and look at the diaryrings. I have two links to raw foods websites. They are really easy to add to your own diary (if you are interested, of course!). Just click on them and when you get to the sites, they'll tell ya how to do it! I heart&s; raw foods!
from spritopias :
Thanks for the comment. I am updating "Classic Spritopias" this week for while you're reading if you find something you *really* like I'll add it on.
from spritopias :
I never fuck with married women, so don't worry. In fact, I never fuck with anyone. Oh well.
from golfwidow :
What's up with Barry Manilow is that he got up in the middle of the night the other night, as we all do, and was disoriented, as we all get, and bumped into the wall, as we sometimes do, and broke his nose, which is too funny. Even he is making good jokes about it. He even inspired me to write my own headline: "Barry Manilow broke nose bumping into wall. Manilow in good condition; wall a goner."
from sunnflower :
Glad you are starting to feel better. The flowers are beautiful. I am jealous of the baked bread. And Tori Amos is the girl.
from mangoprawns :
betty i'm gobsmacked and beaming rays of light your way hoping it's all for the best.
from golfwidow :
Awww, thank you ... that in itself makes me feel better (mentally, anyway).
from mangoprawns :
congratulations on your toilet trainingnessednessnessness!!!
from fcprincesse :
hey, thanks for the notes. personally I'm with you--I'm too scared to talk to the dog owners personally since the one family always has the dog in the yard, and the other is just as psychotic as their dog.... Luckily for me, I'll be going back to school for 2 months and hopefully they'll be gone by then! Oh, and as for your mothering style, I think it sounds like you're a great mom!
from mangoprawns :
yeah - TV! - Miami Vice just came on and I still can't bring myself to turn it off - background noise or something
from spritopias :
I say, "Betty Already" for when something must be said or when a point should be made.
from adipose :
Thank you so much! I did not do the layout though. I found it on Buetifify, fuck spelling! Ack. There is a link to the designer on my page. Thank you, again. :)
from mangoprawns :
DUDE! you really are wonderwoman!
from z0tl :
i give you the bang for your buck! i click on your banner & i leave you this note! i'm a real contributor to the success of your banner campaign, you might say :z

Rules to war; it really doesn't make sense, does it! I picture Civil War battle scenes: everyone advancing in a long line, not seeking cover... Why? It was in the rules.

Hey and hello again, i added you to my favorites list, i hope thats okay. i'd appreciate it sometime if you'd take my survey. thanks :)
from aaronorear :
Your banner kicks booty. I haven't read the diary yet, but I'll assume that it also kicks booty. Whose booty? That's your business!
from ablacksun :
This is Raen, I just happen to be on my other user and didn't notice until now. - I scored 75 - no big surprise there. I know I'm depressed, but there's just nothing I can do about it right now. Everything takes money and I don't have it right now. Maybe someday...
from enn5393 :
Hee hee hee Abercrombie. Yeah they are horrible. They won't make any money off of me though, I'm getting my shtuff off of ebay.
from dasauce :
Hey! I thought only women actually knew what-was-what... Now I am really confused. Grin. Hugs. DatSaucePerson
from enn5393 :
That Dell guy getting arrested was so very amusing, I wonder if anyone was actually surprised, heh. Yeah I remember the gas gouge after 9/11, Cleveland's mayor at the time was a really good guy and shut down anyone who was gouging, the chick we have in now though *shudder*. I think by now in America we should be energy efficient. They could build electric cars if they wanted to, but of course politics are at work there too. As for becoming mom. I think it's always a bit frightening when you realize that you act just like she did, no matter what. I think everyone when they become parents though (except extreme cases), do become their parents, just part of the cycle.
from dialzero :
Found you through bannerland. Aw... I guess not everyone appreciates the genius that is Midnite Vultures. I am a rabid Beck fan, and MV is definitely one of my favorites. It's the only thing that can keep me awake when I'm driving alone at 3 in the morning. Swappingtons IS pretty cool though, eh?
from mangoprawns :
*blush* - good to see you again!

Mmmm. soy sausage. I like the Gimme Lean sausage style, and the new LightLife brand. I can also dig in to some fakin'bacon! I'm pretty much just a breakfast food whore ;)

Thanks for leaving me a note. I am sooooo happy to finally get rid of the diaryland blue. Not all of the links work, why? because I myself am a dummy when it comes to this type of thing. But thanks to my bestest friend treewillow, she managed to get some of them up and going for me, will just take some time in getting the rest going. Have a great Day! Hugssss AngelMum

from neurotic-one :
About my page going blank...fellbehind has/had the same problem, he also has a mac. I don't know what to say....I'm rather unskilled when it comes to coding and such. I did elimated some things on the front page due to slow loading, but I doubt thats what the problem was. But geez, thanks for continuing the efforts of reading my diary. =>
from ska-t :
Hey, thanks for the B-day greets... too many candles, if you know whut ah mean. Cheers to you, meditating under the cedar tree... a most excellent excuse for clearing the mind-- or distracting it!
from adipose :
Thanks for the note, I am a bit confused. I can be a huge ditz. Anyway, I followed the link and did I upset someone by posting somethign in an open diary that I already had in mine? I just really like that piece, I wans't trying to be rude.
from dasauce :
Hugs. Didn't think you were, Ma'am. I was just having fun with the gas... Best, DatSauceGuy.

I saw your tribut banner(s) and I wanted to stop by and comment that you are the nicest person ever to run banners for other people! That is so sweet! Fusion Eyescream :-? How's it goin'? I was just flying through cyberspace when my jet pack stalled. Now where is it that I have landed? *looks around in a daze bofore re-boosting the jet pack and zooming off* wheee! Continue the good work, and is there an aplication form? I would have to have somethign like "Troubled telemarketer, with an alcoholic mother, and 5 months of high school left, working for nothing is too backwards" Anyway...see yah round
from missleigh :
Yay! You got the package! It is good stuff. I have to use it all the time :) Oh, as far as what I do for a living, I have three jobs. I work full time in a photography/darkroom job (which I have for eleven years) then on Fridays I work at an auction house. On the weekends I do product demos for various supplement companies at the local health food stores. I got that gig because I used to work on the weekends as one of the managers of my local co-op, but I wanted to be more flexible on the weekends since I work all week too. I love doing the supplement stuff, because it means free product! Oh, and blackstrap mollasas has lots of iron. Whew! long note. Sorry about that.
from missleigh :
I use valarian sometimes for my anxiety also,it's good stuff. Kava Kava with valarian helps me too.
from ursaminor2 :
I have noticed in my life that, without exception, if you know what ursa or ursula means, you have a brain. I don't know why this has been so.....but it has. So here is to you...having a brain. I am greatful.
from bbwing :
I have come to the conclusion that perhaps I am SUPPOSED to read your diary. I keep coming acrpss it. It's also a good diary. ~Erin~
from redivivus :
=D Thank-you so much!!!
from missleigh :
Oh, yes, Beano will only work to break down the sugars in beans. You will probably do better with an enzyme supplement that has protease, lipase, and amylase in it. I actually have millions of free samples... do you have a p.o. box or something?
from flyinby :
nah, i was kidding, that's why i put the *wink* in there! ;) thanks for stopping by and leaving me a note, tho. now i can find you again easily! :)
from flyinby :
hey, dont knock squirrely girl! *wink* just wanted to say i stopped by, clicked the banner and all that. i don't usually, just wanted to see where it went. :) tah!
from ursaminor2 :
Gees poking around your diary, you sound like me. I think if you poked around mine long enough you would agree. heh. That rhymes......
from killandra :
*hugs* I just got your note. I hope you'll be okay soon. I'm having a strong week after three months of hell. Life is hard with what we've got, but there is good stuff you can learn from it even though it doesn't seem like that right now. You've got a hubby, and kids, and animals to take care of. You're entitled to your feelings. I'll let you in on something not so secret. When I'm scared or unhappy I cry my eyes out, and I don't feel bad about it. Once I'm cried out, I comfort myself, a cuddle with a teddy bear, a nice long bath, good music. Then I say a prayer to my gods, and I look for the good stuff happening. I prefer to think of life as a battle to do the best we can with what we have, and that way we're not in a race to do better or worse than others, but instead just help each other along the way. *hugs*
from missleigh :
For the um, vegan problem, digestive enzymes work wonders. At the health food store, see if they have the brand "Enzymedica" and pick up some Gastro. Take with food.
from hoochiepoet :
the banner you made is really cool, something i wasn't expecting...but yeah, i just wanted to say thanks :-)
from dulcimer :
Yes.
from enn5393 :
Heh, I guess I don't write enough about bar hopping or sleeping with random people to be entertaining. Oh wait, maybe it's because I don't do those things. With getting your writing critiqued, you take the good and the bad I suppose. I just wish he would have said something about my writing <i>style</i>, as opposed to the content. Oh well I was at least amused by it.
from enn5393 :
I love old houses too, especially century houses. There's not much in Ohio, but there is a hell of a lot of old houses.
from dominobox :
I have NOTHING against Americans - but I find their politics immature. My experience of Americans (I work for an American company)is that there are those that you love, and the rest you cannot stand. I also find this go getting super efficient image a hypocritical farce. They are grossly inefficient in business matters - hypocritically so - and couldn't give a fuck about anything that isn't their direct responsibility - apart from those who are your friends. Understand? LOL!
from dominobox :
Hiya - yep I have several you'll see listed on the bottom of my profile - but the one I prefer is ICQ - get it free at www.mirabilis.com
from echo426 :
Thanks so much for the banner. Hehe, I feel so special!
from secretescape :
It's a great thing, public diaries; much cheaper than buying banners. I just hope someone will visit my place, and hopefully, stay. I love my layout (except the green links) and would like people to see it. But then, not all are open to two women "locked up" in a cell together. Thanks for stopping by, though. =)
from secretescape :
About what Gwydion10 aka moony60something are doing: You better get used to her. She moves whenever she get tired of her place. She's a litterbug. She has about six (if not more) diaries she's left behind because she's a restless soul. I know p-brain knows more about this than me. She seem to have all moony's old diaries listed. So... you better like the ride. I've heard it's quite a bumpy one, with directional changes when you least expect it!
from jaynebunny :
hey, i found your site through the reviews. i just wanted to tell you how excited i was that you had those little celtic icons that change at the bottom of your page, cause i've been trying for the life of me to do that same sorta thing but i couldnt get it to work right. I'm planning on using that kinda thing on the d-land page too, but right now its only on <a href="http://www.geocities.com/goddes85"> my geocities page </a> in case youd like to see what i did, cause i honestly cut and paste your code.. i hope you dont mind. and thank you so much... you have no idea how frusrtating its been trying to get those damn things to work!

lol, I made sure I smacked him again and once more for luck, heh. Anyway no I don't have my toungue pierced, I have my lip pierced. It was my present to myself after having my son.
from monkeydance :
Thanks for, once again, checkin' in with me. I know that we're going to get through the terrible twos, but right now it can be pretty overwhelming. We are pretty good about setting rules and having swift consequenses (sp?). Problems sometimes arise when my husband tries to comfort Nathan after he's been punished so he can explain to him what he did wrong. He's 2 for God's sake! You can't reason with a 2-year-old! David and I are having discussions about that.

I didn't think you were harping on him, and you're right, guys too tend to crack and lash out under stress. I'm sorry if you took my guestbook entry the wrong way. I was agreeing with you. Sometimes I just don't express myself the right way I suppose.
from tobehis :
I love 1 Corinthians 13! (haha, Love it...get it? :-P ) Psalm 56:3-"When I am afraid, I will trust in You."
from fcprincesse :
no worries about missing the boxing day shopping craze--I spent it at a family function and then at the funeral home. No shopping for me either... :)
from madamdarling :
anytime
from shawntasy :
hehe that was fast. and your welcome.
from neuroticaa :
SAME feelings on pulp fiction lol believe me...
from tobehis :
:) Do you have any other favorite verses? I also like 1 Peter 3:3-4 and 2 Peter 3:8-9. God bless!
from fcprincesse :
hey, did you celebrate boxing day as planned?

Thanks for the comments. I really think that only another mother can appreciate the hardships of being Mom. My husband is sympathetic and we are both equally parents to our son, but he doesn't truly get my point of view. I don't think he feels the same weight of parenting that I do. I don't think he feels like he's on-call 24/7 even when Nathan is with his grandparents or aunts the same way I do. I started late, too (I'm 36 and my son is 2) so I had a lot of time to form who I was as an adult and I miss being that person sometimes. Thanks for listening and being sympathetic. :-)

...and the moral of the story is? *blushing* I never thought about any moral. I love it because of Diego; when they slide on the ice trying to catch the child. AND THE "SQUIRREL"!!! I love him. He's so pathetic. I love is desperate, whiny sounds. It's even better when he panics! My granny is ok. It's just... she likes to tease by being as non-understanding at all. But this time she seemed dead serious. It's silly, that's why my cousin and I "behaved badly". =) When do americans celebrate christmas? Is it the 24th or 25th? Christmas eve, what date is that? I took a guess yesterday when I wrote. I have no idea. Take care! And keep having a nice christmas.
from ryuu :
Well, I've also got a link to my LJ at the bottom of my diary, and I tend to update there more frequently.
from kidneygurl :
Merry Christmas Betty ! I love your banner !
from lunablossom :
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
from tobehis :
Thanks for the note. Yeah, you can say that verse many ways. Another one I like: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11 MERRY CHRISTMAS!
from mangoprawns :
Merry Xmas Betty Already and a happy new year!!!!
from sunnflower :
Thanks for adding me to your Diaryland favorites!
from sunnflower :
Thanks for your note and the nice comment. I have been enjoying reading your journal so much that I just added it to my Diaryland favorites. (P.S. I love your profile description!)
from sunnflower :
The coffee, kids, cat banner caught my eye. If it weren't for allergies I'd be living that banner! I have been stopping in and reading your journal and think it's great.
from nofantasy :
Ah, yes, the veg misunderstanding. I work with a vegan gal and it took forever before our managers understood the "NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS" concept (they would order veggie pizza .. with cheese or a veggie sandwich with mayo or cheese. Augh!). Nonetheless, I don't think there's anything wrong with avoiding a party because there are only flesh options (unless you want to go in which case I'd suggest you ask if they could fix you a pasta dish or veggie plate but I digress).
from kimchery :
Hey, I made those cinnamon ornaments last week. Like over 100 of them. My nose hurt the next day for sniffing so much of it!!!
from squirrelx :
Banner hos is a brilliant concept --- exactly what I'd expect from you --- and I'm proud to be a member. Best, Xtine / Squirrel X
from dorkfysh :
TVP=Texturized Vegetable Protein Some places sell it in bulk. It's these little dry granule looking thingies. I know it doesn't sound very appetizing, but it has amang texture. I also love seitan which is chewy and delicious. My daughter has been eating non-meat stuff for YEARS without knowing. Now that she is old enough she knows exactly what she is eating and prefers the Vegetino meatballs to the real thing.
from squirrelx :
Everybody needs a nemesis and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Bless your heart! You do me a great honor. Best, Xtine / Squirrel X
from dominobox :
Nice stuff - keep going!
from raen :
Oh, I forgot to mention - I love the coffee, cat, & kids banner! It's so cool...and freaky! I would have put this in the guestbook, but it wouldn't let me because I had just posted something. :P :)

from icebean :
Hey!! You left a note over at my diary, and I'm not sure if you'll go back and read what I wrote, so I'll leave it here too(couldn't find an email address to send it to ;) )...I unlocked it now, just keep it locked overnight because I'm not quite done with the setup ;) I hope you still would like to read mine!

The car? Ahm no. It's Sharleen Spiteri in the music group Texas (from Scotland). I have a thing for her. *grins* It's an old picture, from -89 I believe. I really like it. It's ... it give me peace... I feel peaceful when I look at it. =) I put it there in a whim. But I kind of like the layout as it is. Perhaps some minor changes is in order.I'll look into it.
from p-brain :
Wow. Thank you! But really... my english could be better. The thing is, we get to learn english in school at the age of 10. At least it was like that when I went to school. In 7th grade we got to choose between french and german. Now they begin in first grade (with english) and then french or german in 4th! So I've basically known english since I was 10 (about 14 years). I remember the day I learnt the word headache (through a childrens program on tv). I was thrilled! I try to increase my english vocabulary every week. So far I've learnt a lot just being a d-lander. =) But really. Thank you. I thought it was just Sweetie being nice when she said she thought I were an american a year ago. ;)
from marn :
Hey, not to worry. Blue Sphere isn't going anywhere and it will be around for quite sometime. I just thought that what with it being Christmas and all, people might be doing a bit more shopping than normal. It's kind of nice to be able to help poor kids out through money you were spending anyways, eh?
from raen :
You get special attention just for mentioning it. You'll see. ;) -- And the shit about Eric. I'll try to sum up: He's now married to Leigh, my sister. Eric was our (my and Chris') friend until he married her and began hating us just because she did. It happened just that fast. Chris was like a brother to him for years and years and he just met my sister (6 or 7 years younger than he is) and basically she said "hate them" so he totally turned on us. He'll still bullshit with Chris, but he's really got something against me and for no reason! There's more to it, but that's basically Eric's part in it.
from p-brain :
Yes I live in 'sveeden'. And it's freezing cold at the moment so I don't think you would like it. They mentioned snow later this week. I don't mind really, as long as I'm dressed for it.
from p-brain :
Ah, well. You have the same opinions about Macs like I have about PCs. They are to complicated for no apparent reason. Macs are much easier. But then, I've had a Mac all my life. I have no intention of switching. I guess it's the same for you. I'm happy I could hel out though. =) Take care!
from p-brain :
...hehehe... picture resizing can be quite fun. One thing is to scan it reducing the size, or you could use the picture program you have (like graphic converter that I have. Don't know if it's a Mac thing though) to decrease the size. You should be able to see how big the picture is in pixles and be able to change the size. I know, my explaining sucks. I'm sorry. I really like to help but I don't know what advice to give you.
from jenne1017 :
lol, thanks. um, which banner was it???
from squirrelx :
Dear Betty: I'm happy that I can make you laugh when you read my diary. The folks I'm writin' about might not be too amused if they found out I was narratin' their lives on the internet, but they're the ones who put in colour in my life and I'm narratin' with affection. Usually. Maybe they'd understand. If it weren't for the folks around me, there'd be nothin' to write about. Best, Xtine / Squirrel X
from marn :
It comes from one of Heinlein's novels. (He was a sci-fi writer) and it means to understand something almost to the point of empathy. Yeah, even as a child I was a nerd--I read mass quantities of sci-fi. It's pitiful, really.
from ontheoutside :
yeah my mom was a fuck up. but it's better now. she's not as bad as my dad. yeah, my parents rule...i love tattoos. it's like, now that i have one, i have to get more. at least, that's been the urge since i got mine more than two years ago. ah well. thanks for the note anyway!
from p-brain :
I didn't notice your misspelling either. =) ... No, not orcs as in Warhammer. Orcs as in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. I've only just begun playing the game. I get nowhere. The computer attack me too early in the game. You like computergames too?
from marishaldoa :
hey! You had wrote me a note asking what a labret ring is, well I searched long and hard to find a picture so ya know what im talking about... http://www.whiteflame.co.uk/1nupierce17.jpg I hope ya think its cool, talk to ya later! -Marisha :D
from plutosmile :
Nah the tongue piercing didn't hurt at all! I'm serious! I couldn't even feel it. It didn't even bleed :)
from marn :
Ah, now, don't be saying that! Remember, I've been living here for over 25 years now and that garden happened a little bit at a time. Besides, as with other things .:cough:. size doesn't matter. My daughter has a teensy tiny postage stamp of a garden in the backyard of her apartment in Montreal and it gives her every bit as much pleasure as mine gives me. The fun is in the tweaking.
from goodsandwich :
I see. Because . . . I'm actually a she. But I don't want to get too hung up on gender!
from goodsandwich :
Oh, and when you ask "Is he for real?" -- who's the "he" you're referring to? Not sure . . .
from goodsandwich :
Hey thanks for the listing! I'm glad your heart is feeling better and sorry your body's feeling worse. Lovely design too.
from bettyalready :
You're welcome!
from alswelinhell :
In no way should you ever compare the animal terrorist group PETA to the Nazis! PETA is a disgusting, left-wing group dedicated to some radical thought of freeing animals from the grips of humanity, whatever the hell that means. The Nazis were on the far right, and should never EVER be in the same sentence as PETA. Every member of PETA should be hunted down and shot for their ridiculous ideals, may God have mercy on their souls. Thank you

Hey what's up with the celtic knots? Are you celtic?? Cause I'm an Irish Dancer... so, ya know... I'm just a littl curious :)

i took your survey, is was good for your first one. please excuse the multiple type-o's in the survey.
from killandra :
Thanks for the note Betty. I will add you to my favorites and read your diary. Thank you for the compliments about my writing. It's nice to know that even if my brain isn't what it used to be that some people still like how it says what it has to say. *grin*

this is like post-its you can leave for other people, which is a little creepy -- everyone on diaryland leaving little yellow notes on your desk
