hey thanks for the ebay advice, but I already have gotten all my wedding stuff on eBay. None of the skirts are as big as that one, and that's £135 on eBay though I have found it cheaper on another site, at £100. I am not having flowers though so don't have to worry about spendage on them! lol x

Hey lady...yeah I totally understand with the baby thing. If I wasn't going to uni in September, I think Mark and I would be doing the exact same thing! I just respect people so much for being able to cope...my sister already has 2 kids born within 1 year and 1 day between eachother, and a set of twins so she's used to having little 'uns close together, afterall, this is baby 6 in 5 years!!! I definitly like the color scheme, and the navigation and entry, with the entry if you could just make it wider that way when I post pictures they don't overlap in the navigation if that makes sense. The only thing that I'm not too sure about is the picture, I like it but something about it just doesn't hit what I imagined. Is there somewhere I can send you a picture that I found? I don't mean to be a pain and I'm sorry If I am. I do appreciate you doing this for me. Thank you so much!!!

I think most go through a bad relationship. And many learn from it. I just don't understand women who get out of one bad relationship without learning a thing, and then find another man who is just as bad as the previous, like my cousin. Thank you so much! I really like my boxes with the picture at the top but I don't like them to have the scroll bar i just like the boxes to go on forever basically if that makes sense. I'd like something with light but bright kind of blues, i don't know if i'm making sense. And for a picture i just want something baby like ideally brothers but something new and pretty and soft. Just reading up on you...another American city I recommend (no bias...lol) Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's got great history, beautiful buildings. Come when it's nice and the lake is gorgeous (although, the further north you go, the clearer it is to swim in). If you ever do make it here, look me up!! I'll show you around. It'll be fun!

You know...I don't like those comedies either...I never did. I have not watched but a single episode of each. I have no idea why people here love them so much. It says nothing and everything I think about our "culture" (mostly lack there of though). And I think missing Chris might be sort of like your situation in that I do miss just having fun...we did share some deep things, but the more I've had alone time to dwell, I'm lonely because of Walter's weird hours and I just want a friend and Chris was always fun...So it could be my reasons for wanting that friendship back are a bit selfish. IDK. I haven't done a good job keeping up, do you know if you're having a boy or a girl? Any names?

Aww! Thank you for your kind words.I'm sorry about your cell phone! Take the battery out and put the phone in a ziplock bag of dry rice and leave it over night. That will absorb all the water. Don't turn it on though!

Yes I have heard of Oilatum. Might get something like that tonight, but just a nice soak in the bath works wonders. I can't wait till I finish work and can come home for a long long soak! Bending down is the worst. My leg likes to be straight as it doesn't crack the trying-to-heal skin. Dave said he'll let me put me feet lots over the weekend, so by Tuesday I should be getting there. I hope! Have a grand weekend! :)

I totally agree on the walking to school thing - It's quite good in that the local primary school is only 2 roads away (parallel speaking) from where we live, so will probably be a maximum of 10 minutes walk to get there, depending on where the school entrance is. I can't actually drive though - but it does seem silly driving for a walk less than half hour. As for the recycling, it depends how much recycling you have to do! You don't really want to be walking 15 minutes with about 12 bags of bottles, plus newspapers, plastics etc unless you're dragging a cart behind you! Thanks for your notes, means a lot to know that a) I'm not alone in my worries and b) I'm more than likely going to be fine. xx

I know i'm slightly psyhcotic Teenager but this is my advise on colds. Drink alot of milk (if you don't like milk do water) and sleep (even if its forceful) for about 12-24 hours, with SMALL breaks for more liquids or a trip to the loo. when you get the chance your body will fight the cold better and will grow stronger. (this normally works for me, and if you must take some medican... i'm not much one for drugs so...) but yes that is my advice for you. ^.^ take it or leave it. but its still there.

Sorry to hear about your mum. More sorry to hear about your situation with the families whole lack of communicating thing, (same thing goes on with my wife & her mom) Here's how bad cigarettes are. My mom smoked 4 years & years & years, she stopped smoking before any difficulties occurred, and two years after she quit she started having all the breathing type of problems. Shes on one of those oxygen things that goes to her nose. My dad is worse, he never smoked a day in his life but always went to bars (2nd hand) when he started having problems, get this; his doctor told him to stop smoking after he seen his x-ray. They're both in their mid-80's but they both only have health problems due to Fags/cigs.

Hey; Electronics Technician here. UUm, I've worked on a lot of cameras, they use up batteries like crazy. You should get a Re-chargeable set-up, there costly at first but practically last forever. The better kind is NiMh (stands for Nickel Metal Hi-dri) this kind you can put back on the charger at any time without damaging the battery, just make sure the charger can do NiMh batteries.;) just thought I'd let you know... oh like your pic's

It's in South Woodham Ferrers. Probably a bit more than a 30 minute drive from here. I want to go again so Dave can go. I really wanted to thank you for the kudos on my entry. I appreciate that you said that. I am actually too scared to go into detail and all the things I remmeber. So I try to keep it short. And although my father never laid a hand on us I think the experience was just as bad, the emotional tug of war that goes along with that made it worse. And seeing my mother like that. If you feel the need to write about your experiences I would read and comment without any judgement because I know that you have turned out to be the fantastic mother and person you are today. And for THAT I want to give you a heads up. You have made something of yourself and I admire you for the strong person you are. I want to say you don't have to be afraid to give in an write, but I know how it feels when you have written everything down and that should I, shouldn't I? feeling that goes along with posting an entry like this. oh indeed they are, we're very lucky that Mattias has continued to let us make a total mess of his yard/garage/house year after year after year. I agree with you on the concert thing. But I do think every little bit helps, and while a big part of global warming is out of our hands, at the same time, we have the ability to prevent things from getting TOO out of hand. Originally, facebook was only for college students with a university email address. Since I didn't go to one, I couldn't be part of the facebook craze that started a few years back. It kind of made me feel crappy that I never went to a big school (and all my friends did) and still does, so I kind of try to avoid it. It sounds lame. I really do regret never going away to school after high school so I take it out on facebook! How stuuuupid.

Hi, It's good to find an interesting and fun diary. I thought diaryland was nearly deserted, but maybe not quite. I feel I should probably point out that I'm not a girl and am infact male. But it's a mistake a lot of people reading my diary seem to make. Too much talking about pop music and no idea who won the football. I always try very hard to not watch Big Brother, but I find after a couple of weeks that I know who all the characters are even without watching it, and then I might as well switch it on (especially if I want to be able to have a conversation with my sisters.) Till then, it's just Doctor Who for me. Hope you're having a good weekend.

you asked about the library, funny thing is- i DO have one a few blocks away, BUT funny thing about it its only open TWO days a week and not all day, just in the evening and the evenings (if i remember correctly) that it IS open, I'm at work. The last time I was in there, there wasn't a ton of books, sort of smallish so, I can't imagine them having any really good books that I'd find interest in. Go figure for a library, right?

Well. AH! I totally know what FULL STOP is. I learned the hard way. I had a british friend all through middle school, and we had health together, and we had a paper to write. It's probably just a phase, but I still recommend this book I'm reading, "Your Defiant Child: 8 Steps to Better Behavior" by Russell A. Barkley, Ph.D. & Christine M. Benton. Even if this might not the beginning of any lasting problem, the instruction in this book should keeps things from developing in the future.

Hi becca, I think you are doing everything right and I know it seems hard now but just keep on doing what you are doing and he will soon understand that his behaviour is not acceptable. He is only 2 so it is to be expected but he has to learn now, I don't think you are being a terrible mother at all. It's hard and it's heartbreaking to do these things sometimes but as long as you explain to him each time why he has been punished he will hopefully start to understand and learn not to have the tantrums. I used to make my boys sit on their bed and not read, play or anything, but that is a bit hard to expect a 2 yr old to do that. You are a good mum and it's tough when you don't have a partner to share the frustrations or to just vent, that's why you have us at diaryland :) expect we can't give you a real hug..but virtual hugs sent your way :)

My crunches I do like a sit up but instead of coming all the way up to my knees I just lift my back a few inches off the ground whilst holding my tummy muscles in. I also hold a weight or two whilst doing the crunches. Girly push ups I do by kneeling with my legs shoulder width apart and basically just do a push up making sure I'm using my arms and not my back.

They look good value. I just love Center Parcs and go there most years. Last year we went to a Haven park in Weymouth. I rented a friend's luxury caravan. It was lovely and only cost me £150. I've also stayed at a holiday village near Great Yarmouth! That was really cheap and good fun. But Center Parcs wins for me! I just love it! (Despite the cost!) Mind you, the fact it's quite expensive means you generally only get wealthy families and no riff raff!! lol!!! Always worth paying a little extra for! And it's only an hour and a half's drive away! Perfect! *hugs*

Yes, I'm hoping to be a stay at home mom. At least for the first year. After that, I may need to find something part time, or something from home. Right now we're saving, saving, saving!! I want to have a nice sized nest egg that will help us through that year. Hopefully things with our jobs stay stable until then, it's scary because the economy here is so bad. Anyway, I'm shooting for Sept. 17 or 18th. Don't know why. Or, if I have it early Sept, that wouldn't be too bad either.

Yeah, WW is the only other diet that I've ever done. I've done it a couple time sactually and really like it. I typically would not do Atkins because I know the body needs carbs, but I am going to FL. in 2 months and wanted to lose a guaranteed 15-20lbs. I am also exrecising at the YMCA, so that helps too. I am dropping Atkins after FL. and just returning to healthy eating and exercise. Going to check out your diet page.

yeah i agree about there being too much emphasis on b'feeding... and the fact that women who have a hard time with it are made to feel inferior... i was one of those women. I did b'feed until Alex was almost 6 mos old, but it was a total uphill battle and I did have to supplement a lot. but yeah, i felt awful that i wasn't gushing milk everywhere. the lactation consultant at the hosp when Alex was born called formula "chemical soup." Because of my weak and impressionable status as a brand new mother, those words remained burned into my brain and I felt just awful about every ounce of formula I fed Alex. BUT, now that I am more seasoned, and have had enough sleep!!!, I can see that her words were meant to SCARE me, vs. being kind, supportive and gentle. What rubbish, don't you think? Whoo... I've rambled enough. Suffice to say I agree with what you said in Jane's comments wholeheartedly. I think breastfeeding is wonderful and I would do it again for as long as I could, but those of us who aren't the goddesses of milk do sortof get trod upon. M

I absolutely LOVE Italian based meals. Spaghetti...meatballs...the whole she-bang! However, I cannot even heat up pre-baked cookies. Hi Becca, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when people go crazy shopping! The stores open up around 4 or 5 am and have really big sales to draw out the shoppers. It's so insane and I always refused to go shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving, but I gave in and went this year. I may never go again.:) The reason the name sound to scary is because it is!;-) Hope that this helped!

I get excited about Big Brother too! I'm kind of glad Vanessa went out and not Makosi, although I wish it had been a choice between Science and Orla - not the two girls. But I don't exactly like Vanessa, she doesn't do anything apart from eat and sleep, but she's friends with Makosi so should have stayed to continue their bitching. Orla with her boobs out, Science with his big mouth and ego, and Craig for his temper tantrums are all annoying me. Love Eugene and his quirky geekiness though, there's just something I like about him, and I feel sorry for him when the others ignore him. Aww.

Today is a very sad day. Terrorism is so scary. I don't know much about it but I've heard bits and pieces. It's sad that the world has to be like this. As for dieting, I just need to stay focused. Of course you are confused. Ending a marriage is one of the hardest things, I think. You have had a special bond with him, you have a child with him, it is not easy to just suddenly not have any feelings at all. n fact it would be strange not to have any feelings at all. Am I making sense? I am just as confused as you. On one hand I want him back, and I want to have a real, "normal" family. On the other hand, I enjoy the independence. It is confusing hon, hopefully both of us will get through this with flying colours. Just don't beat yourself up if he stays the night or things to that effect. It is totally ok! Take care! Max has his critics, but he's straight-talking, no nonsense, and I find him great entertainment, especially the phrases he uses! I had depo a few yrs ago, right after I had Makayla. I had 3 infections and quit it. After wards I didnt have a regular period for quite some months. I also ended up with like 3 bladder infections. The dr told me it can take up to a year to get out of your system... I'm so sorry to hear that it had happened to you too. I was 15 when it happened, a guy off the internet. he was 32 at the time, I was stupid. he lied... I don't like when people try to ignore the fact. I know my parents haven't really talked to me about it in protecting me but, sometimes its better to talk about it. Do you wish you had turned him in? Atleast you was able to confide in some friends. I lost a friend or two after it happened to me when they found out. Oh well though. I just hope you never see him, if you don't want to ((hugs))

That's so great that Matthew's was so good! Riley HATES the doctor's office. He is okay in the waiting room but the minute he sees a nurse or anyone in a wait lab coat he starts to freak out. Even after shots Riley is fine as soon as he can't see the doctor anymore. He's silly.

I remember when the boys had to get their boosters. They would cry, my heart would ache, I would give them tylenol, they would sleep, I would continue with the tylenol for a day or so and I would avoid touching their tender shot area for a week. Sometimes they would run a little fever and be super tired, other times you would never know they got a shot. I hope Matthew isn't sore today and enjoys visiting with your family.

Happy Mothers Day! Thanks for the note following my Godsons operation. You said in your message you weren't sure why he needed the operation so I'll try and explain as quickly as I can. Basically my friend Kelly had lots of problems throughout her pregnancy and because of them her baby was born premature. His lungs weren't properly developed and he wasn't feeding properly so when he was first born he was in hospital for months until the docs were satisfied that he'd put on weight and was able to breathe without any help. Ever since then he's been monitored by docs at Great Ormand Street and at Guys hospital, and now that he's nearly 18 months old they think it's 'the right time' for him to have an operation to help his breathing. Hopefully after the op his lungs will get more air into them and although he might suffer from asthma they don't think there will be any long-term complications and he'll be able to have a normal childhood - without the op he'd be on medication such as steroids, need to carry an oxgen tank thingy around with him like Kelly has to for him at the moment [I cant remember its proper name], he wouldn't be able to play or run about with other kids and he'd be more likely to get chest infections etc which would be more serious for someone with a health problem such as his. The op is quite a serious one, but it will improve his quality of life. So far though he seems to be doing ok thank goodness. I'm glad to hear that your son is ok now though - I've been reading your diary for a while but didn't realise he was so ill at one point. The docs at GOSH are great though aren't they! I'll keep writing updates on Mark but I can't visit him at the moment as I've caught a chest and throat infection :o( Thanks again, Jo X

Thanks. I am also curious what happened to some old high school buddies. What brought all this on was a picture I found of a friend who died in a fiery car crash three years ago. I just did a little web surfing today trying to find a few names. Most of them still live in my home town. I have no interest going there. (Long story not enough time). Oh dear, you have to nip that in the bud and now. He is trying to establish his boundaries. My boys all were angels and then go nuts in a restaurant. A simple, excuse me, and then a spanking in the bathroom followed by a lecture cured that. I had to do it about three or four times, but after that, the boys sit still until we are ready to leave. If they start to get out of hand, a firm grab on the arm and a "Do we need to go to the bathroom?" Gets them back in line. Good luck

Little ones have bursts of independence and they do not have the skills to do it quietly! Hold on, this too shall pass. I always made it a point to gaze upon them when they were sleeping like little angels. It did help!

In my opinion (for what it's worth) you can never have too many books. Riley has over 100 already and it's something he actually likes. Unlike toys, which he gets bored with after a couple weeks. :)

They actually had an adaption of the show in the US. It had the same name. The celebs were Downtown Julie Brown from MTV, Jennifer Lopez's dancer ex and the guy from Lifestlye of the Rich and Famous. There were more but I don't remember their names. Like a lot of shows that the US tries to import from England, it didn't do well here. I never watched it. Shows are always better in the UK than here for some reason.

We had snow that night too, in Cambridge. I was in the car with Mark going to his house for the week when it started. Oh darling, I've just read your last entry. I'm so sorry you're feeling this way about Tony but I think you have made the right decision. You have given him a second chance, but by the sounds of it he hasn't changed too much if you are feeling this way again. You have to think what is right for you and Matthew, and if this isn't making you happy now, it probably never will, and Matthew will start picking up on tensions in years to come. As for the bit about a child having two parents, I myself have only ever really had my mother because my biological father walked out on her to be with his wife. I've not come to any harm, and in fact think this has probably been better all round for me. (Although I do have a step-father figure who I call Dad, I don't really class him as one.) Different circumstances for us both, I know, but I believe you are a strong enough woman to be a single mother, if need be. Tony will still be able to see Matthew, watch him grow up etc, with regular visits? For what it's worth, I think you are right to think about giving him an ultimatum, I can see this was a tough and very painful decision to come to. I wish you the best of luck! xx

As a child of divorce, I must tell you that the whole "children are better off with two parents" thing is much overused. My dad was moody and miserable to live with, and even though I was only five when my mom finally kicked him out, it was a huge relief. I have always had him in my life, but it was really a godsend for me that he wasn't in our house. Matthew can still have a relationship with his father whether he lives with you or not. I may be overstepping some boundaries here, but I feel very strongly about this. I really think that your instincts are correct on this one, and I hope that you don't let your decision be swayed by what society or tradition says is best. On the flip side, it must be really painful to face having to lose someone you love. My heart goes out to you. I hope that you find the strength to make the decision that is best for all involved, whatever it may be. Good luck to you, and hang in there! By the way: I think you are a really great mother

Ah, the age old slow walking people problem. I find it too, and it really bugs me when you are walking behind them, you move to the left or right to overtake them and they go exactly the same way, then you swap sides and lo and behold there they are again. Then you end up looking like you are doing some weird sort of dance with them. I normally just barge past and end up with their bags tangled in my legs or hitting me and causing one huge bruise. Ah well. As for fireworks, I understand. Yesterday they started at 3.15pm - it's still light, what's the point? They didn't finish until really late, after shaking the house. Ahh, so I've found someone else who loves the Tatty Teddy/Me to You bears. I adore them. My room doesn't actually look like a 21 year olds, but more like a 9 year olds what with all the Tatty Teddy ornaments/cuddly bears and the Eeyore stuff too. Happy Birthday to you, and thanks for my own birthday wishes. As for when being unfaithful starts being unfaithful, I'm not too sure. I do think that when you are on a break it's different, but I think you should also make some sort of rule when on a break so you both know where you stand. If one person sleeps with another, and their partner doesn't it's difficult. I would handle a break by setting a few rules at least until you know whether you are going to get back together again or not. Luckily I have never had thoughts or fantasies about another man whilst being with Mark. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I like to think of it as that I am satisfied with who I'm with and what I've got, so I would say it is good, for me at least. For him? I don't know. Hey mate. Sorry to hear Chorni's misbehaving. I hope its all sorted now , coz u dont need worries like that, no one does. thanks for your note. i am still very under the weather. I have gone two nights with out sleep, lost my voice, tickly and very very dry cough. Worst thing is when i cough it get pelvic pains. It hurts. i hope this cold goes soon coz i cant have it round baby time. i have been inhaling steam/vapour rub and taking paracetamols, drinking loads of water but no relief yet.anyway hope u are ok and that matthews doing well and being good for his mummy. PS. Lord Brocket is famous for pulling off an insurance swindle - he dismantled four of his vintage cars and claimed the insurance (or something like that). He was sentenced to 7.5 years in jail, but I think only served 4. So now you know. xx

Hi Becca. I totally agree with you that a relationship has to be an equal partnership and you certainly shouldn't abandon your stand on this. If your boyfriend insists on trying to tell you what to do all the time, he isn't the one for you. Have you had a proper talk with him on this? Make it clear to him that you won't be ordered about. If he won't change on this, end it. If he's laying the 'if you love me, you'll do as I say' line on you, I fear it may well be time to call time... Hope I've been some help, feel free any time. I know Leytonstone fairly well, as I lived there for over a year in 93-94 (Hainault Road, then Grove Green Road), then came back in 98 (Forest Drive East) and have been there since. Yes I remember the days on white city...where crime was high and we had neighbours who were rough and lived in sub-standard housing and couldn't even afford acrylic paint. It was quite entertaining actually...
