Check out Explosions In The Sky... beautiful, powerful, excrutiatingly emotional instrumental rock. Just guitars and drums... the most beautiful music ever made. I recommend this for newborn/preborn children everywhere, as well as everyone else with ears.

re: Autumn Mix: (oh nice writing that entry). That's funny, - i'm working on my Springtime mix - punching off with the Disney-esque "The Tigger Song", my overzealous sanguine wit, is just killing me. Thanks for the note re current music recommendations. Yes, I havent heard much about Jeff Mangum out here in the little city. Kirk recommended Milk Hotel on SADay and since then I have had Airplane over the Sea on high rotation for about two months now. (and will now be investigating the Sweet Relief Two Chestnutt tribute Album with haste. ) Terrific to hear all is well and fine. Cheers ebstar.
from rubery :
hehe. rad. I don't know why but that word's made me giggle now. As well as my indecision over what sentences to capitalise and which to not. And whether that last sentence was entirely grammatical. Anywho thanks for the note and the guestbook entry.

from panicbird :
I enjoyed your tweeness survey - you have the loveliest taste in music in all diaryland...
from feio :
i wonder if you read my diary. i was surprised to see a new name on my favourite of list... mississippi is not so far from where i am. where in mississippi do you live? xox.
from solomon8785 :
I'm hurt so I'm looking for a guardian angel every place I go. I think I have about twenty of them, I don't think I'd want to count how many. I liked when you left me notes. Do you like F. Scott Fitzgerald? He makes me love America, so I thought of you, and wondered if you might be able to tell me if there are good people that I could admire over thre, like I imagine there possible could be, somewhere. My diary is full of Australiana, but in truth I'm really developing a hatred for my own country. It feels so stagnant, and conservative, and without a real sense of itself, like an adolescent struggling to understand itself. I'm blatantly racist against Americans, I'm sorry, just because its accepted don't make it alright. I like you though, and people like you, and so many other names I could mention. Don't feel like the rest of the world hates you, its only certain things that the world hates, and its less "America" than "American imperialism" and I'm sure if you substituted the name of any other country instead of America, it would sound just as obnoxious.
from solomon8785 :
Well you've been so nice to my notes page I thought I should make more of an effort to read your diary. And then when I did, alarm bells sort of rang, and I got this urge to tell you what I thought. I mean, my diary is really only still here at all because of the 'catastrophe' I had last year that I've been crawling out of, and you know, I just thought if I could save you something of that it would be nice. Perhaps I'm just freaking out, but you know, you're under a lot of pressure being so far apart. Even with the depth, you know, its...etc, etc..
from solomon8785 :
It is really nice. Like when Sheryl Crow or Chan Marshall speaks. Or that chick off that show "Savvannah" which I'm sure no-one remembers but me. I think some cities and regions have other accents I like, but I don't know them well enough to say. Brooklyn? Where the hell is Brooklyn?
from solomon8785 :
I've been thinking: sure, most American accents are loud and obnoxious and brash and intrusive and they make you want to blow your brains out through your ears; But yooou, have a southern american female accent. I like those, they're so pretty, and the women like to say "Ass" a lot, in a way that makes me feel good, instead of in that other way that other people who like to say "Ass" a lot say it, which makes me want to blow my brains out through my ears.
from pmattie :
I had to lock my diary, so if you want to read it, the password is your name.--Pmattie
from heyjude85 :
eeeeek! I ripped a pair of tights doing that :-\ guess I should have left that as a tip!!
from heyjude85 :
A tip for the ice skating: It's not like skating AT ALL. You'll really have to learn all over again. I did so well, so you will too :). You have to learn how exactly to push off from the ice, it's kinda a glide/apply a tad bit of pressure thing. You won't have to do much pushing off at all, because Ice is fast :-D. Hope that helps!
from explodingboy :
oh dear golly
from tom-seb-jak :
This sounds like a dodgy attempt to start a new diary that this boy-o that you kissed doesn't read! Is it? If so i totally want in.
from solomon8785 :
Oh I love Elvis, I really do. He makes me smile and smile, no matter what. Have you been to his birthplace? It must be swarming with freaks.
from solomon8785 :
"Aw, I love you pa" "I love you cledus!". I don't know a lot about the American south, but it can't be all bad, it produced Elvis, and you, and gospel music. -- Your message was helpful, and it makes me think it deserves to be thought about, you know?
from solomon8785 :
I've found an actress. She's 16, she got kicked out of school for poor attendance; She called her teacher a whore, and she never turned up because she got bashed when she tried to make friends, and teased because she's a fat girl. She thinks she looks better when she doesn't smile, but she's wrong. She has gorgeous baby-face cheeks, a pale face with lovely pretty-pink bits on it. Tiny, interesting black eyes, curly hair, two lip rings, she likes photography, she thinks I'm cool, and is eager to please. Do you have any scripts with a girl like her in it? I'm going to film her from different angles on Friday. She looks unique. Sometimes she looks dreadful, usually because of her own misjudgement, but at other times she looks interesting and different. She has an enormous head.
from solomon8785 :
lol, ah there's only one library in campbelltown. Actually no, that's not true, there's also the university library. What is lollyland? I know of no such place. -- Ok, we'll meet, if you still think its a good idea by then, and if mark approves..-- Tell me about missisippi, I don't know a single thing about it, except that there's a river there. -- By the way, my life sucks dude.
from solomon8785 :
I'm 20, I've always lived in Australia but I was born in Papua New Guinea. My parents used to live there with my 2 older sisters, and taught in an international school. When I was 8 months old they took me here, so I've no memory of it, but I have pictures of myself as a baby being held by my house-mary, who looks like a witch-doctor - very old, very wrinkled, very black, and with very few teeth. -- Buxton is down south a bit but not too far away, I should know where it is but I don't, and yeah, I'm pretty sure its small. I think it might be near Thirlmere, where I used to live. I'm awful with geography. I'm not really in Sydney, I'm in Campbelltown, which is like the outermost suburb of Sydney before it becomes semi-rural. Its a bit over an hour by train to the city from here. -- I live at home with my Mother and Stepfather, but I'm thinking about moving in with my Dad. I was hell-bent on doing it earlier, but I stayed there for a week and it made me unsure; The second I move out of this room, my Mother will turn it in to a guest room and I don't want that. I'd really like to work in the library, I've thought about it, but never asked. My plan for the moment is to take it slow getting out in to the world, do things that are actually going to be useful to me in the future, not listen to what anyone else says, and try and calm down and not go crazy. I've applied to do some volunteer work at amnesty international - answering phones, administration, shit like that. I'd have started already but they're a bunch of fuckers, like all organisations, and all they've done is told me to go to a meeting for more information. Its on in about a week. I guess its holiday season so they've not really go their shit together. I don't really care about human rights, I'm a law student...I don't know, I'm fucked, and I don't know what else to do. Anyway, I think I'm in a bad mood because I'm hungry. -- a/s/l?
from solomon8785 :
I don't know Bukowski, so I looked him up and he's giving me bad vibes, but oh well. I've read "Intimacy" by sartre, and I liked it, but I was wanting more from it - I've heard people mention "nausea" a couple of times this week, so I'm thinking that's probably one of his more important works, yeah? I like the sound of your writing and I look forward to reading it. I pretty much slept today away but there's still time yet to muck around - the house is empty so its quiet and I can relax. I think I have a hyper-sensitivity to noise, which sucks, cos I live with a primary school teacher who knows how to make her words heard and an american man that likes to bellow, and neither one of them seems to have very good hearing. My cousin Zoe (Age 7) has been hear all week, and she was alright, especially compared to my niece (Age 6), but I'm relieved now that she's gone. The boys from next door have been running around the place too, and all the kids like playing the sega, and since I'm the only one who knows how to turn it on, I've been an important personage around here. -- Anyway I'm all tired and groggy, I'm probably whining and shit.
from solomon8785 :
I'm not sure if I even have it in me to make a super-polished film - but I'd least not want it to be so bad that people laugh at it or get distracted, just cos I didn't take the time to take out little glitches. -- And yeah me too. What do you write about?
from solomon8785 :
It is my real name. I think you're attitude is similar to mine - if you start trying to make everything perfect straight away, you never get anywhere. I'm impressed that you have ~any~ full scripts at all.
from solomon8785 :
I write too. There was a time when I wrote every day, and a 6 month period where I did little else except read and write and drink vodka. But then I sort of took a break for a while - I wanted to clear my head, that sort of stuff. Then uni. came along and sort of took my time and energy away. I still write something, here and there, and I think its better than what I was doing before; Film is sort of a new avenue for me, and I'm excited about it. I can use what I've learnt from writing, but then there's a whole other part to it that's completely new. I'm focusing on camera work right now because its a basic skill I'll need to master if I want to create anything, but also because its difficult to tell a story if you don't have any actors. My approach is that if I take this film seriously, so will others, and I'll be able to attract them to the project. The first problem is that I've got to get something tangible to show around, so that people are convinced this is worthwhile - some footage, a script, some ideas, etc, etc. I think a lot about it, and I'm making some progress. I love the name Elizabeth. You should show me your scripts.
from solomon8785 :
I would but right now I'm busy studying law. I'm doing it with communications majoring in journalism - there exists something called "Communications (media arts)" which is about film, but for some reason they wouldn't let me do it with law. I hate university crap. Anyway, next year I'll be doing some film subjects, so I'll at least have some idea. I figure I can teach myself, by watching and reading, and experimenting. Its mainly recently I've got more in to it. I've had the camera sitting here for almost a year now, but I couldn't get motivated to just go out and shoot something.
from solomon8785 :
I'm sure I'll come across it eventually. Maybe its just time I switched from video ezy to blockbuster; Do you like Fellini? I borrowed 8 1/2 from the library the other day, twas the first one I've seen. "My film will have everything. Even a dancing sailor!"
from solomon8785 :
I'm reading "Thirst for love" by Yukio Mishima because of you. My mother owns a copy. I once tried to read it for 'dear' time in high school, but I didn't get very far. I didn't think anyone else knew she existed.
from solomon8785 :
Aw, you didn't have to do that for me. I read a few entries, you write honestly and clearly and I like that. You don't seem to be hunting for attention, but you're not hiding your feelings either. I respect that, it means I can read it and feel safe.
from solomon8785 :
Thank you. -- Its hard to read your diary, most of the page gets cut off and it took me a while to realise I could scroll down. Is it just me, or is it meant to be that way?
from justmejae :
Hi!! I got the survey.. it is filled out.. and in my diary should you want to have a look.... hey.. thanks Elizabeth you rock... see ya Jae
from tokcocktok :
Ahahaha, no problem.
from tokcocktok :
Awww, Mark's so sweet to do that! Anyway, your archives page looks hideous, so this is what you have to do. On your "Change what each individual entry on your archive page looks like" page, remove the snippet of code there and replace it with "%%date%%: <A HREF="%%page_name%%">%%short_description%%</A><br>" Yay! You should be all set. Bye for now!
from tokcocktok :
Thanks for the compliments! :)
from tokcocktok :
Hi, I'm just dropping by randomly to all the beloved people on my buddy list. And I just wanted to tell you that I have a NEW LAYOUT! (sorry, I was excited.) Care to tell me what you think please? :)

Happy new years to you too!

from explodingboy :
Elizabeth. Thank you for your kind message. Of course you are a huge J&MChain fan. I do like the way you are a huge fan of everyone and like everything, and I mean that in the best way. I do hope that you were able to find something that took your fancy during your exploration. That is the only J&MChain track in the explodingboy diaries (at present), my electronic-goth-psychedelia being hidden at the back of the stack for quite some time. I must recommend the band the Church to you, A Pop Mary Chain with Australian accents ;-). Cheers eb*.
from justmejae :
make more surveys.. I liked the last 24 hours one. Dont know if I am still on your fav diary list.. if not well glad I made it at all.. good diary btw.. see ya.. Jae
from white-lies :
eeek, what's the reason for getting rid of it? *gasp!* hah, im afraid to trade anything tangible, but I'd definitely give you bunches of copied CDs if you like... it's what I was referring more to. I'm scared to death to give anything away. so, if many many many copied CDs catches your interest, let me know. [email protected]
from tom-seb-jak :

Sorry! My computer is on super OVERDRIVE and is freaking out. I'm glad to know that you like Sometimes by MBV too! Good music=good people. I bought Loveless as kind of a sorrowful way to have depressing music to listen to and it worked! Such a good song though!! It brings me to tears :'( But all is well...Pmattie
from songaday :
Interesting coincidence with thee song. It's a good one to be listening to, though. For some reason it's always seemed more like a summer song than a winter one to me. I've never read his poetry book, because I can't find it anywhere here. I wish you could burn me a copy of the disc too. Really, I could burn my own, though. But I'd rather be bitter about it being missing for a bit. If you want to add stuff to songaday, you are welcome. I like yr. diary. Especiallly now that you got rid of whatever stupid thing that was causing the pop-up ad. See you, kirk.
