next year... where do you hope to be?
from greentealeaf :
never mind the scars, you're a beautiful person and you'll shine like a star. xo
from koorikaze :
My friend, I'm sorry to hear about your scars. Try mixing pure aloe and vitamin E oil or balm together and applying it a couple times daily. Even if they do not fade in time, you will still make that dress look amazing.

The first sort--- someone who thinks that if you're reading you're "not doing anything" ---is definitely infuriating.
from raven72d :
so... is the Book Pest a particular person? (Even if I'm obviously flirting when I ask about a book, I *always* care about the book. Bibliophilia trumps everything.)
from raven72d :
Hmmm... It may be that after years of working in a bookstore during grad school, I have a noncommital/professional voice that I can use...
from raven72d :
Congrats on the fellowship!
from raven72d :

from raven72d :
I love the mariner's compass idea.
from koorikaze :
Thank you so much for the compliment. The funny thing is, my husband and trainer both said the same thing. :) And on a slightly different topic, I once left the sprinkler on overnight when my folks were out of town. It looked like a marsh the next morning.
from raven72d :
where will you go after North Carolina?

A trifecta! Yes! I love that!

Thank you for the note. I do agree that TV, or any media, can be used as a learning tool. I am trying to take things with a grain of salt and so far, so good. As for the getting better... well I have either the flu, a nasty cold, or something else now. O_o

My friend, I can't seem to find your email address. I can leave the information here in a separate note that you can later delete if you so wish.

Pale Saints and tortilla soup...sounds good.

Thank you so much for the lovely note. It is funny you mentioned the home-made ice cream because my husband was talking about it this morning. We might try our hand at home-made ice cream and other tasty treats. It not only is cheaper, but can be more healthy.

from raven72d :
thinking of you, too, bella. you are a dear friend these last...six years?
from pettyquarrel :
I've always liked your journal. "Always" since I knew it existed. Up where it says "holy saltmartin," for the longest time I thought it said, "holy samaritan." Curious wheeling thoughts about that phrase. That didn't exist. Jeremy: you're right that our Jeremys can't be the same. I like the sound of yours. I've known people like your Jeremy. I wish in one witty sentence I could describe my Jeremy. "My." But he doesn't belong to me. He tends not to drink much ... yet ... doesn't have a girlfriend ... yet. I say "yet" because I expect this all to change. He habitually smokes too much dope and listens to The Smiths and self-secludes. I can't blame him. Weed and The Smiths defined an era in my own life. And maybe I thought Jeremy belonged to me when I was a graduating senior and he was a freshmen and we romped around behaving badly, crashing Duke parties, stealing from parked cars, abandoning articles of furniture in miscellaneous campus bathrooms, trying to climb into the library ceiling. Sigh. But he didn't belong to me. But I worry like he did. He's precious to me. Jeremys are worried about. Beautiful Jemeries.
from raven72d :
I'm glad you liked "Logicomix".
from raven72d :
26 jan 10... love the line about red clay cities.
from riverun :

Sorry I'm a bit late getting back to you. We've been dealing with some issues (which are now happily resolved). I have no preference at all to how these gifts are made. Thank you again for your generous offer. ^_^
from raven72d :
Condolences and hugs, Kristin. And the 13 Jan 10 entry was so heartfelt and sad and powerful...

from misfitstray :
I already asked someone how to make that and that sounded so complicated. So, I'll try to get that cable and already found audacity on the internet. Thank you so much for the advice! I guess I'll do it with my little netbook. Then I'll have to get more memory capacity first with external harddisk. I really hope that I can manage that as I'm a looser with Linux ;)
from misfitstray :
I wish you luck for your 5k race! I hope you'll have fun.

that sounds like a very interesting and unusual choice of music. I love that and I'm always thankful for hints to good no mainstream music. I'm always a curious reader of your list under your diary entry, what you are listening to and read etc.
from misfitstray :
I didn't knew Damien Rice either ;) Well, I like all different kinds of music as long as it has a melody. I'm not into Jazz and german folk music. But I hear from classic music to heavy metal music everything in between. I love Starsailor, Metallica, Saga, George Michael, Soehne Mannheims, Simply Red, Cornelius Claudio Kreusch, Gustav Mahler, Vivaldi ... long long list. How about you?
from misfitstray :
Didn't know Lisa Hannigan before. She's really fascinating. Beautiful. Natural and so creative! Brilliant! Thank you for the advise.
from misfitstray :
it's amazing! Thank you.

Fixing an exhaust manifold? I'm majorly impressed! I'd have no idea at all what to do.
from cloverst :
i'm so sorry about your hotwater heater! it's hard for me to think of living without scalding hot showers. do you need to do it to code now? sometimes you can fix things for the short term and bring them up to code later without a huge hassle, if it's not a real safety issue. (speaking in general, im not very well versed in hotwater heaters)

I lived once in an apartment with entirely white walls. except for the bathroom. it was the light and radiant blue you would expect heaven to be.
