Hi! I've recently joined the soprano diaryring and found your diary through it. I'm really sorry you're having such a hard time with your singing teacher. It is totally unfair for her to be treating you that way. I'm a singing teacher at a small university, and I would never send a student away without telling him what he needs to work on, or give him heck because his accompanist played a wrong note. It sounds like you are definitely not getting your money's worth. Talk to your department chair, or whomever is over her head, and explain the situation without sounding like you're whining. I'm sure you'll get satisfaction.

Man, oh, man, are you and I on the same page here. My argument is, how in the world were the terrorist attacks going to stop by going after Sadaam? Um, Osama bin Laden anyone? A lot of people forget that Iraq was our ALLY again Iran and, as you pointed out, most of the weapons (though not of mass destruction, hah) they had were sold to them by us. The war in Iraq was nothing more than Junior deciding he wanted to finish what Daddy started.

You're right about your brother...the longer you wait, the harder it is to go back to school. The list of excuses gets longer and then you just run out of time. What does he do now? Car salesman does seem to be the type of job that isn't really reliable. And, glad things worked out with your friends. Of course everyone likes you better :)

Sorry everything seems to be piling up like shit all at once. No magic words....just hang in there. And your plan with dealing with your "friend" is the right one. NEVER fight with friends over drugs. It's been a while for me, but we had this one girl that ALWAYS acted like if she got even one bag, that we somehow "owed" her. Needless to say, she got left out of the loop a lot. Hang out with your momo and friends when you can and maybe that will help with the stress of school a little bit.

As for getting baked, that's just the terminology old farts like me use for hanging out and getting high with our friends. Sheesh! I do spend as much time with her as i can! She works, so she's pretty much busy alot. And i've always appreciated her, and i know everyones time here on earth is not forever, thats why i do spend as much time with her as i can. sheesh!

I'm glad she's okay. But... Spend a LOT of time with her. Hang out with her when you would normally be getting baked with your friends. A scare like that reminds you that you never know when you can lose a person, so it's best to get as much of them while you can.

Most would argue that creative people are more in tune with right-brain functions, which means seeing the world much differently than those anal, left-brain, accountant-types : )

Well, you know of my experiences at Denny's, so I'm not surprised. And, I'm impressed as hell with singers. My voice is "uncertain," at best, with each new note bringing it's own new key. Gah!

Mondays are never better, lol! I can't believe I'm so nervous about this critique. I guess it's because I really do enjoy photography and really want to be good at it. It's one thing for your friends to like your pictures...it's another to have a professional photographer looking at your slides. I like to take pictures of discarded items, shadows...really focus in close and take items out of context, if that makes any sense. I had my friends go through my slides and the ones that made the cut were: 1. a close focus of orange/yellow leaves in a birdbath after a slight rain, 2. a close-up of a discarded, roundish filter in a pile of that orange plastic temporary fencing (one of my friends said "I like how you take what other people consider trash and frame it in a way that makes it beautiful...I don't think my instructor will be that gushing), 3. a close-up of a pile of metal fence post tops (one is kind of shaped like a church to me), and 4. a close up of a fence with a triangle shadow of fence behind it on a red wood barn. Thanks for the note and I'll let everyone know how the critique goes. If I can ever get my scanner to work, I'll try to post some images (but, considering my computer problems of late, I wouldn't hold my breath, lol).

Not to be picking nits but... Considering your stance on the possibility and everything, shouldn't you be sure you're NOT in the family way before you go out drinking? I mean, if you were planning on a DNC in the event that you are, then it wouldn't matter. But if you intend to take it to term, more than the very occasional beer or glass of wine could cause some serious problems. With that said, those girls sound frightening!

Hi! I'm leaving this in your notes area cause the guestbooks seem to be wigging right now. Okay so here's the joke...A bear and rabbit are sitting side by side taking a shit in the woods. The bear turns to the rabbit and asks, "Do you have a problem with shit sticking to your fur?" This is a really good joke to tell while consuming large quantities of margaritas or martinis with a group of friends. :)

Shit, I forgot to add: You should have asked the cow behind the counter how cruel it would be to kill your turtle because you're too squeemish to suplement it's diet with the occasional live food? Food sticks and krill don't cover all of a turtle's nutritional requirements! By the way, do you have a suitable UV lightsource in it's tank? Turtles need good light and clean water, or their shells rot!
