from janna182 :
I'll see what I can do, but I won't make any guarantees. I'm pretty sure the Beulahs'll play it without me asking. I think they like that one. Thanks for the note, hope you have a good night.
from threewishes :
thanks! oh, and i am quite literally being eaten alive by jealousy right now....
from iluvtunes :
God, I just fucking LOVE Chan Marshall!! She's touring southern california in may. I think she'll be in San Diego on May 22nd. Not sure of the venue yet, but my guess would be The Casbah, like last time. XO..........Christina
from threewishes :
similar to quelamour's note: you are lucky boy. i am dying with envy right now... i would love to see the decemberists. i'm assuming from your entry that they are good live. which makes me extra-ordinarily happy.
from quelamour :
oh my gosh, the coachella line-up looks amazing. you are a very lucky boy.
from humanspirit :
You know, I didn't notice any old school lunch boxes...I did notice the unbelievably cheap vinyl and I almost had to buy another suitcase to, not bring home all the souvenirs I bought, but for the music I found at Smash.
from iluvtunes :
It's unlocked. Someone taught me some clever tricks with html and I no longer show up on search engines anymore.
from iluvtunes :
If you really do record, I'd LOVE to hear it!
from threewishes :
i am blind. so, the one in glasses.
from quelamour :
ah, laziness. good solution. so back to bed i will go...
from quelamour :
where have you gone?
from quelamour :
oh i'm sorry i called you pretentious. threewishes always makes fun of me because i usually misspell everything and i thought you were doing the same. i apologize :)
from quelamour :
hey hey, look at us elitist bastards from kansass, look at how much cooler we are because we can spell. when did you become pretentious?
from threewishes :
happy dirty-thoughts-at-work day!
from quelamour :
hey, thanks for the info on heatmiser. i found their album and really enjoy it, although it is different from the usual sir elliott. any more music suggestions are always welcome...
from fuctor :
I know I'm way late in getting this out, but: you're welcome. glad to find another "glynis"-lover. hell, I even bestowed that name upon my car.
from iluvtunes :
Wow! I can't BELIEVE how much I fucked up my last note to you! Just goes to show that I need to proofread! XO....Christina
from iluvtunes :
One more question. (and this is kind of weird one!): Do you ever check my diary from the UCSD education department? Accordiing to my stats tracker, somebody does, so I'm trying to figure out who if it's Mr. Blue, or not. ( I've recently discovered that he's known about my diary for MONTHS!!! )
from iluvtunes :
Hey, are YOU vegan???
from iluvtunes :
Hey....My condolences on losing Elliott. I will miss him madly. :-(
from fireflea :
I just wanted to thank you for the very kind note you left in my journal. It truly made my day. =)
from boyfromks :
Fine, Venezuela is democratic, but Chavez lead a failed coup attempt a few years before being elected, and he has already been overthrown (sort of) once in his tenure. The remaining countries remain non-democracies. Argue the gradations if you want, but mean people are mean no matter what lables you use.
from lunaua :
Just one more little thing, post white flag. I'd hate to see you make any other little technical slips when trying to make this arguement again someday. You said, "I look forward to similar actions in Myanmar, Liberia, North Korea, China, Indonesia, Venezuela, Congo, Rawanda, Burundei, and the multitudes of other autocratic regimes in the world." Just for the record, Liberia was a democratically-elected presidency that has recently been overthrown (supported by the US); North Korea and China are Communist states, which is not quite the same as an autocratic regime; Venezuela is democratically-elected. I'll let you have the rest of them, just for the heck of it. It should also be noted that in 1996, Bill Clinton (all of his other issues aside) stated that bin Laden and Al-Qaeda was not a threat to the United States either. It's amazing how quickly these "facts" become out-dated.
from lunaua :
All right, perhaps I should go with something a little longer next time like "Whatever you say, buddy" to avoid having you zero in on one very non-central phrase and crucify me for it. As a matter of unrelated fact, I don't watch Seinfeld so at least you were able to teach me one thing in that that's where that phrase comes from. As it is, let's talk about Secretary of State Powell. In the Iraq War Reader by Sifry and Gerf, Colin Powell's Presentation to the U.N. Security Council has its own happy little section (this presentation happened on 2/6/03, by the way). Quote Powell: "We know that Saddam Hussein is determined to keep his weapons of mass destruction; he's determined to make more. Given Saddam Hussein's history of aggression, given what we know of his grandiose plans, given what we know of his terrorist associations and given his determination to axact revenge on those who oppose him, should we take the risk that he will not someday use these weapons at a time and the place and in the manner of his choosing at a time when the world is in a much weaker position to respond? The United States will not and cannot run that risk to the American people. Leaving Saddam Hussein in possession of weapons of mass destruction for a few more months or years is not an option, not in a post-September 11 world (Page 477)." That, to me, doesn't sound like Powell is implying that Saddam is no threat... Maybe it's just me. This statement was made a good 2 years after your news conference, and in a very different time as your conference happened prior to September 11th. Of course Hussein wasn't a threat then, we were America and invincible and no band of cave-dwellers or their allies is going to be able to touch us. We were wrong and this is a new time. I don't want to argue with you. I don't want to argue with anyone. If I was ever pissed-off or frustrated, it was only because I couldn't believe that leaving such a simple little passive comment in "Shesajar's" notes was going to lead to a major political debate. Just please don't throw any more out-dated weblinks at me anymore (waving white flag).
from iluvtunes :
Thanks for voting! (YOU RULE!) XO.....Christina
from lunaua :
I never said that paying $0.99 per gallon of gas had anything to do with Iraq or it's WMD or it's politically radical ties. I was REFERRING to liberals who use the problems with the economy as negative propaganda against Bush to try to overshadow the positive steps he's taken to fight terrorism. At any rate, it doesn't matter. If you did indeed read the entire entry then you also read where I said I was done with this arguement. Yada, yada... go hug a tree.
from iluvtunes :
Alright, since you are one of only two people here in Diaryland whose diary I read that actually LIVES is San Diego, will you PLEASE do me a favor and go to my diary and click on the link to vote for the 7th day buskers (I have a crush on one of the guys in the band!) for best Americana in the SD music Awards? Weird request, I know....but it only takes a second, I promise!! Thanks.....Christina
from daisydesigns :
hey, thanks for using my design. however, since you have edited it, could you please put "orig." in front of the design link? thanks! i like what you've done with it.
from benji-ikari :
hey, i just took that quiz. if you acount my split decision on my movie taste, i am either a princess bride or casablanca. how was the north atlantic farewell show? ~ben
from zil4life :
alrighty- so this is way random but i can't sleep and came across your page. Personally, i laughed when people asked what happens when there is a tornado, i guess it's one of the perks being from the midwest. I guess I could say something cute but i'll leave it to the other people. Keep it real. -liz.
from iluvtunes :
Oh my god, I ♥ your diary! I'm adding you as a favorite for sure!!
from iluvtunes :
and p.s. I live in San Diego, too!
from iluvtunes :
Thanks! By the way, you have GREAT taste in authors! XO.....Christina
from graymatters :
Not that I was asked, but... I now live in San Diego, only after an arduous journey from Lawrence, KS. Where in Kansas were YOU groomed for life? Oh yeah, and your diary seems alright as well.
from dana-elayne :
I've really enjoyed what I've read so far. Plus, I have to agree with you about the "madness of king georgie porgie!"
from benji-ikari :
i noticed that you like the north atlantic. one of only two. the other being me. just wanted to drop a line to a fellow fan. ~benji
from boyfromks :
I don't know. What's a twister? During TORNADOS, people go outside to look for the funnel cloud. Or hide in the basement.
from shesajar :
so, in kansas, what do they do in case of twisters? XOXOX
