omg what record were you listening to when he walked in?
from secret-motel :
Paper cups, man.
from jimbostaxi :
6 months later you find a sliver in another room and you'll say WTF? How did this get here? Those damn shards end up in every crevice in the house.
from damodred :
I noticed you because you are online, but also because you call yourself bridgecity. The city I live in is nicknamed "the bridge city".
from boombasticat :
Lovely, the roller rink description.
from babyhead :
On Sunday, I was leaving HEB after finishing the weekly shop only to be met with the backside of a crowd frozen at the exit. There was a downpour, swift, brief and determined broadcasting itself across the parking lot. All of us just stood still and stared, as if we were watching a lost relative return home. (All except one guy, who barreled his way through the crowd proclaiming, "It's only rain, not gonna kill you!)
from jimbostaxi :
If I had to take a shot in the dark maybe the gas cap is worn.
from jimbostaxi :
Maybe the bulb burnt out. Any symptoms besides the light being on?
from the-grey-one :
hah!
from jimbostaxi :
Ty, I appreciate that she was my life and the peace I'm.finding right now is in the bottom of a beer :)
from secret-motel :
I haven't opened it yet, but Blue Velvet looks like a beauty. I hope you find a copy!
from the-grey-one :
you and your desert shenanigans!
from secret-motel :
Since I enjoyed The Cremaster Cycle, I could imagine myself enjoying season 3 without having seen the first two seasons. I also really liked the music in The Cremaster Cycle. I have the soundtrack for Cremaster 2 by have never been able to track down a copy from 3.
from secret-motel :
I never got around to watching Twin Peaks until about 2017. I watched the first two seasons (aired '90 - '91) and found season three (aired 2017) enjoyable yet jarring. I knew that season three was a continuation of the story 25 years later, but the characters and actors in the first two seasons were still very "present" for me that it was disconcerting to see them age so fast.
from moodswing :
fire ants on frozen rats is a strong image
from the-grey-one :
haha oh no! i’m sorry about the rats, but i love how you tell a story.
from jimbostaxi :
I hate rats! The only good rat is a dead rat.
from se7enchance :
Sweet lord almighty. That is the stuff of Living Nightmares, right there. Channeling good juju for you. (Try and) Be well~
from secret-motel :
I have that Fahey book. I, too, enjoyed it! You ever hear that album he did with Cul de Sac ("The Epiphany of Glenn Jones")? I love his spoken word pieces on that album. He had such a distinctive voice.
from the-grey-one :
haha love ya bud!
from jimbostaxi :
Hahaha, I'm going to add that fish joke to my collection! Thanks :)
from jimbostaxi :
My only joke is what has four wheels and flies? A garbage truck. Lol
from the-grey-one :
aw, yay! yay for your itchy entry!
from dangerspouse :
*sigh* Six year olds can be so cruel.
from the-grey-one :
awesome ‘97 flashback!
from jimbostaxi :
”an old pecker with arthritis” sounds like a punchline to a joke I heard in the taxi office! Stay safe.
from jimbostaxi :
:) Thanks for reading! Added you to my list.
from dangerspouse :
The Shocking Blue! Awesome!
from narcissa :
desperately need more information on how your life has been shaped by batman pls.
from valasaurus :
I know and love daniel johnston. Got to see him just once in nyc.
from narcissa :
i'd never heard of roky... just listened - his voice is incredible. thanks for mentioning him.
from secret-motel :
That live Wooden Shjips was on my list. But I got to the point where I had to cut myself off and head for the checkout line.
from dangerspouse :
Thanks! You know what's funny? I hustled my butt out to the store to get a new one the first day of spring...and then only got to use it once this year. The cold wet springtime lasted right through the cold wet summer, cold wet autumn, and now winter. When it's cold. And wet. Oh well, at least it stayed intact!
from secret-motel :
I picked up volumes 2 and 3. I'm debating whether or not to get 1, since I already have most of that stuff on 45's.
from secret-motel :
If I was a thieving thief, I totally would've snatched that Gummo soundtrack. And the GBV cd, too. I already have the Twin Peaks soundtrack. I'm glad no one was hurt and no windows were broken.
from dangerspouse :
Ouch! Get that nail taken care of. If you lose the use of your thumb you won't be able to thumb your nose at people. And that would make you not human!
from secret-motel :
Nice list! Much love for The Fall.
from dangerspouse :
That's some list of albums/singles you managed to cram into 2017. Happy New Year - I hope 2018 is just as musical for you!
from secret-motel :
Yeah, that song is a crusher. It's fascinating to see early versions of those songs and note how they evolved and continued to evolve as they played them live. And, I repeat, I would really love to see similar treatments of "EVOL" and "Sister".
from secret-motel :
I am not! Well, now, I sort of am. That looks pretty great. Listening to China in 1940. Thank you!
from boombasticat :
Thank you very much! It was a long time coming.
from sky-rocket :
did you recently leave me a comment?
from valasaurus :
LMAO.. adding you to my list. Your last entry is so dramatically me, and it made me smile. And I needed that. Cheers.
from dangerspouse :
Hey, thanks for the note clearing up my musical confusion. Much appreciated!
from dangerspouse :
"Working in a Coal Mine....'Holy Cow'"?? I thought it was "Going Down". Was this an alternate version I'm not aware of?
from se7enchance :
If you'd leave me an email, I'd be happy to provide you with a key. Thank you for asking~
from se7enchance :
Thank you kindly for the concise and thoughtful note. Estimation? Either way, it's most sincerely appreciated.
from secret-motel :
Hmmm...my vinyl doesn't glow. But the music certainly does. I wish they would come play in my office again.
from dangerspouse :
Hey - I just saw you added me to your Big List O' Reads. Thanks very much! Very flattering.
from the-grey-one :
bridge, buddy, you know what? thank you very much because that was real nice to hear
from boombasticat :
Stoner is amazing. Huge fan. That whole part at the end, when he's sick, is incredible.
from dangerspouse :
I sometimes think this is why metaphysicians aren't taken seriously by the general population. Deleuze's works often come across as the dense, cryptic scribblings of an obsessed cult leader who has spent all his time cloistered away reading nothing but religious tracts or UFO conspiracy pamphlets. Repetition is against "the law"? WHAT law? Just the fact that repetition occurs shows, ipso facto, that no natural law is being broken. This reminds me of some of the wilder postulates of theoretical physicists....
from dangerspouse :
I bet it's one of those large cockroaches who moved to your wall after fleeing the dreaded shed Borax. That, or a set of novelty chattering teeth that finally wound down.
from sky-rocket :
still writing?
from dangerspouse :
Could be worse. He coulda said Diana Ross.
from boombasticat :
I really enjoyed the rat snake post.
from seventhofmay :
DiaryLand is supposed to email you a password but I guess that isn't happening. So your username is your username and the password is the state I think you live in. Let's see if I'm right.
from seventhofmay :
You should be receiving an email with a password. Let me know if you don't.
from secret-motel :
That copy of El Topo is a pretty amazing find. I've never seen it, but it's on my list. I saw The Holy Mountain in a theater here a few years ago. Such a great experience.
from sky-rocket :
whenever i read your diary i have the urge to click a "like" button.
from secret-motel :
Thank you for the kind words. There's a lot of stuff in those travel entries that make me cringe upon re-reading them. Actually, I cringed a lot while writing them. But maybe I'll learn something from them. Someday.
from raven72d :
Private Situations" is a brilliant entry.
from the-grey-one :
i love how random your entries are..
from dangerspouse :
I liked Brubeck. He was the background to a lot of my youth. What a career....
from secret-motel :
I saw the Rollins Band at a little club in Sacramento in 1991 just after they released The End of Silence. Admission was $6. I got there early. There wasn't a lot of people in the club for the opener, some band called Tool.
from the-grey-one :
hah! nice
from sky-rocket :
ha. fucking funny.
from raven72d :
20 Sept 12.... I liked the entry.
from sky-rocket :
also, i'm really curious what smokin8balll is up to.
from sky-rocket :
ha. he quit the shit a while ago!
from moodswing :
the next night we ate whale
from secret-motel :
Maybe the locksmith got locked out of his own van?
from boombasticat :
Nice work, that locksmithing, if you can get it. Next time this opportunity presents itself, I say: take that joyride.
from secret-motel :
Yeah, this is actually my first Black Angels purchase, and I'm enjoying it very much. Oh, and I think I watched some youtube videos of them onstage with Anton Newcombe a long while back. I should check out more of their stuff. I've never thought swans were beautiful. There is something creepy and ominous about them--probably because they will kill a man dead, if they have the opportunity.
from the-grey-one :
haha! i know right? it was unfortunate
from boombasticat :
Fantastic, your take on the guy looking at the tapes.
from anhelo :
i agree with the person below.
from sky-rocket :
there should be a "like" button on your posts...
from secret-motel :
Maybe that guy in the woods was looking for his pants. I suppose he could've been searching for his keys--if he left his keys in his pants. This is actually a pretty common thing in the woods. You should always carry an extra pair of pants, in case you encounter someone who lost their's. They will be so grateful. I mean, it's liberating and everything to go pantless. But, after a while, you start to think to yourself, 'Man, I just want to wear pants again.'
from the-grey-one :
haha! nice bridge, nice..
from atwowaydream :
i see the world crumbling.
from atwowaydream :
The whole thing is this sci-fi undercurrent nightmare. More and more, it seems like no one knows anything unless they have a daily red bow reminder on their facebook.
from the-grey-one :
"Everyone thinks they are right, but nobody is right, yet somehow everybody actually is right.".. I think you're right.
from atwowaydream :
Insidious. . . YESSSS. you are beyond awesome.
from atwowaydream :
aw, thank you. ::nuzzles:: i will try it tomorrow when i'm not so paranoid and uncertain. you're sweet.
from the-grey-one :
nice, thanks bridge!
from the-grey-one :
haha one and a half chuckles more like it! great entry
from the-grey-one :
happy 7th birthday bridge!
from atwowaydream :
"stole for them and not gone fishing the profound heaven with kites to catch and domesticate the wildfire of the storm" - I read this about three or four times, as sad and lovely as it is.
from secret-motel :
A stranger on the street told me I look like Nicholas Cage. I have the bony, narrow face and thinning hair. And I was wearing a raincoat on a sunny day. I'm not sure if it was a compliment or an insult. Maybe just an observation. I am rather fond of the "Leaving Las Vegas"-era Cage, however.
from atwowaydream :
At least you're not blonde. I get compared to random blonde actresses that disgust me too much to even type here. I totally feel you. It's like, if you see someone who even vaguely reminds you of a celebrity, how about you just shut the fuck up and leave the opinion to fester in your mind? Argh.
from atwowaydream :
I always miss the eclipses, too. And I'd like to think that I use the word "rad" but I don't. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I don't say "neat".
from the-grey-one :
"I have to verbally recapitulate my actions before I go to sleep so as to make sense of the things I have done." nice bridgecity, nice.
from the-grey-one :
pants are overrated
from gonzoprophet :
i admittedly don't put much effort into honeysmoke literarily...they are merely records. if i didn't mark them as dreams, though, i think i would feel dishonest.
from secret-motel :
Psych-Fest sounds pretty great. I love a lot of those bands you mentioned.
from the-grey-one :
lol @ Mood !
from in-alaska :
smiley face.
from sky-rocket :
Do I know you, in person?
from the-grey-one :
I loved your Gunner entry. haha you have an interesting way of writing
from omfggwtf :

"the weather now is like a million xanax." - i love you for that.
from englishsucks :
how's bleach for you?
from sky-rocket :
or, not anti-, equi-? male equi-self. of me.
from sky-rocket :
i think you are the male anti-self of me.
from sky-rocket :
dude... yesterday i walked in on m.m. putting his pants on -- he didn't answer the door when i knocked so i swiped my key and swung it open. he smiled and said, "gimme a minute." he was in room 1233. i went to his room three times that day, first when he had his "do not disturb" sign out, then again when the sign was gone but i interrupted him from his trousers, and again when the room was vacant and i finally was able to refill his complimentary coffee. also yesterday, i saw a ghost in room 1121. that would be the floor directly below, on the exact opposite end. i walked in straight and caught a bright flash in my right peripheral, enough to make me turn around to see what it was, where the "it" in this case was a split-second blast of overexposed ("white-light") energy in a perpendicular form. i told my boss and co-worker, the co-worker who's seen a few crazy things himself (ghost faces, UFOs).
from sky-rocket :
it's only life.
from americansin :
can is epic. vitamin C?
from sky-rocket :
mmmmmmmmm. i wish i had some xanax.
from sky-rocket :
been meaning to say. don't leave d-land.
from secret-motel :
Hey, yeah, that was me. The other me. The me I was before now. Which is pretty much the same. The me I was and the me I am now, I mean. Your cavedweller sticker still adorns my crashtop. Good to see you're still bridging the city.
from elliestuff :
wow....
from americansin :
stumbled upon you randomly and i do have to say you got a really great gig going on here. I'm a new official fan. Livin here in Chicago. Just givin some props.

from sky-rocket :
hah. that's awesome. snakepit is exactly what came to mind reading your "autumn" entry.
from sky-rocket :

from englishsucks :
Haha you're hilariously cute!!!
from juswords :
wow thats really long time ago! ox
from sky-rocket :
i like your diary. the short, succinct entries usually about one specific thing or you tie a couple things together. nice.
from juswords :
♥thank you babe

from julia3 :
how can i email you without divulging information through this? seems impossible
from julia3 :
yesss
from julia3 :
you like kraftwerk too? theres this guy 'senor coconut' who covers their songs in a salsa/spanish kind of way. its pretty funny, but strangely good. like you know in autobahn theres a car that starts up in the beginning of the song, and in the senor coconut version its like some shitty mexican car that wont start.
from julia3 :
Beach house is great, so is Fujiya and Miyagi. Beach house's music always sounds like its coming out of a seashell. you might like Volcano! . theyre a chicago band. #8 and #12 on their album beautiful seizure is great, and the lyrics to #8 "apple or a gun" is awesome. you may also like squarepusher. this guy was classically trained in bass and is basically a bass virtuoso, but adds synthesizers and drum machines and plays bass over it. his song "beep street" on youtube at the Tokyo liquid room is amazing and "port rhombus" or the video for "come on my selector" on youtube. its a chris cunningham video, he does the videos for boards of canada, and aphex twin. his sense of editing is excellent.
from julia3 :
i love you
from acidwonder3 :
whats odd
from criminal-- :
thats odd.
from acidwonder3 :
Hey, never even heard of diaryland.. i was searching for a friend's email, it had the word pioughed in it, and this came up. its pretty awesome you like comets on fire and deadmeadow. I saw comets on fire the first week i came to new york and deadmeadow in chicago at this festival. The comets on fire show was the best show i had seen all summer. You should check out a comedian named Bill Hicks. I think you would like him.
