possibly random question: do you live in the amherst area? if so, i have a follow-up question that is less random (accidentally typed "ransom" there)...
from meism :
You are my snow. I miss both.

i was intensely thinking of you the other day while standing in my kitchen. funny, right? there wasn't even any grateful dead or transcontinental weed involved. i hope you're doing well. i miss hearing about you/seeing what you see through that ol' camera lens.

dear b, would be alright to ask a sort of book-collector's type of question? i was hoping to email you but i don't have it on the computer i'm using in st. louis! -- j.

i am so glad you are a p. hendrie fan. my sweetheart has amassed hours and hours of his show, so if you need a CD to keep your nights in order, you let me know. much love, bobbie dooley.

yes, i believe he did go to branford high. but he is only 28, so maybe you were gone by the time he started? from what i have gleaned from your blog, you seem to have a profoundly covet-worthy job--something combining ancient ephemera and rare books with graphic design work. *sigh* i worked for a year for arcadia publishers while living in charleston, sc. my job involved sitting for hours sifting through massive piles of ephemera, scanning and then photoshopping batches of photos and postcards. i loved it--i felt like a time-traveler, a voyeur of souls, an unearther of timecapsules. the exposure to the old postcards touched me the most--the moldering yellowed paper with the flourishes of fountain-penmanship declaring sentiments of longing from locales distant geographically and temporally, their senders and recipients long-dead with postmarks pre-dating zip codes... such sweet sepia-toned melancholy swelled in my minimum-waged heart. i sometimes miss that job, though the old paper made my hands itch and eyes water sometimes. oh, and i must also mention the rare book room at smith college. my freshman year i had a major thing for sylvia plath, and when i was able to sit and flip through her actual diary, touch the grooves in the paper that her pen had made, i truly felt high for an entire day. :)

it is great to see these pictures of familiar and well-loved locations. they are really beautifully composed and shot. what kind of camera are you using, btw? i have a friend from branford, i wonder if you know him? his name is steve ross.
from sls :
oh yes, i went to smith. i love the pioneer valley :)
from sls :
ah i see the 'pvta' bus. are you in the happy valley by any chance?
from tarynheart :
beautiful.
from meism :
It's true we hardly know each other, but xxoo for this.
from likeaforest :

from likeaforest :

dear bd, um, sorry about being a completely deplorable penpal (i swear i am much better over im!). just wanted to say that your graveyard photos are really lovely. also, do you have your pictures from your scandinavian adventures online somewhere? maybe we could swap sometime. xo, j

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
