Don't feel ashamed of how unique your life is. How different your perspective on the world. I sometimes wonder how Analise will feel when she is raised with six different sets of grandparents (all divorced and remarried). My "father" isn't even related to me at all, AND divorced from my mom. And then Ryan and I may eventually remarry. But the plan now is to coparent her. "It takes a village to raise a child". I intend to use that, and have every one of my friends play a large role. Right now, Matt and Sarah are. Try explaing THAT one at school. This is my Uncle Matt, he's not with my mom or even related to me. Oh and Aunt Sarah, same thing. Lives with us, but she's straight. *raises eyebrow*

hey there! i've been reading your diary for a bit now and felt compelled to comment today. i was a japanese major in college. my first year, my professor was really liberal (she was amerikajin), and let me get away (even embraced) me saying things such as "i like beautiful women." she even taught me words like lesbian, gay bar, etc. it was great. my second year, i didn't get so lucky. my prof. was a very old school conservative nihonjin. she'd always correct my speech and writing when i wrote and discussed things like my weekend ("this weekend my girlfriend came for a visit."). i don't think she was homophobic. i honestly think she didn't get it and was trying to be helpful. one day, i went to her office hours and attempted to explain (in japanese) that i am a lesbian (and then i tried to explain what that meant... in japanese). anyway, she kind of got it, and from there on out, she would only correct me one time out of five (when she forgot or got confused). i went to a really conservative school, so that wasn't exactly easy, but i figured since i had so much more japanese study ahead of me, i was being unfair to myself. anyway, good luck.... very interesting story. :)

I can't believe that they are trying to make an ammendment to our constitution NOW. As if morale in the States isn't low enough as it is. Support for the president is bottomed out, people are sick of this administration. Why would they even think of trying to make a huge, controversial move right now? It's sickening.

I have a great picture from my first visit to the wall. It's my hand and my sister's hand under my uncle's name. We have the same fingernail polish on, and we're both wearing black long sleeves. The only way you can tell whose hand is whose is because I had a wedding band on. I love that picture.

I think that every girl goes through that in some way after a breakup. When Ryan cheated on me all I could think over and over again was why wasn't I enough for him?? Wasn't I pretty enough or good enough? The thing is, it's not about you. It's about him. How he hasn't found HIMSELF yet and that's why he broke up with you. He doesn't know what he wants, or he's sidetracked by slutty clothing or tempting looks. A man that is secure in himself looks into what a girl is, finds love in her intelligence and her sense of humor.
Uh, did that make any sense at all?
