I do like the Libertines as well, yeah. They have that refreshing sort of do-it-yourself punk ethic and don't seem to pander to current musical trends or whatever. And they've got some fine tunes to boot. Now if only they could stop Pete Doherty taking his whole Sid Vicious thing too far...(it may even be too late already)

Franz Ferdinand sort of sound a bit like lots of different bands but not exactly like anyone. They're the perfect festival band in many ways - great stage presence combined with a selection of rousing singalong anthems. A bit like Last Night of the Proms only without the Jingoism or Union Jack waistcoats. I love them personally. (erm, the Ferdinand rather than the Proms)

I know I'm just a stranger and I'm not sure if my "lurking" is more of a comfort or annoyance to you, but I did want to let you know that I ALWAYS read your updates. Your writing has touched me and has helped me to work on my own censorship issues....writing what I feel rather than smoothing out the edges and trying to hide my underlying emotions that I see as ugly or upsetting. Love the new layout. And about Ms. Love...I think you're partially right. Personally I can't stand her, she's a sorry excuse for a person, much less a mother most of the time. But you're right about it being wrong the way people immortalize Kurt. You see all these pictures of him with Frances when she was a baby and everyone says he loved being a father. But it makes me so sad to think that for the rest of her life Frances will have to know that she didn't mean enough to him to stop him from killing himself. How fucked up is that? She's the real victim here. A generation of people who adore and worship a father that she barely even remember, and who didn't care enough to stick around for her sake. He took the cowards way out for sure! Great entry.

My cat hates (HATES) men. Except my boyfriend, whom he loves. Which is odd because he's never liked men before. Stevi likes cats lots. As have 2 of my exes. Which is also odd, as I'm inclined to agree with your philosophy, especially as my Dad finds it amusing to come up with ways to torture our poor kitty (although he never does it!).

I agree too - you should be feeling safe in yor own home. I'm furious with them all for putting you through that - especially those who should know better. You're lucky you were able to kick the door in - perhaps you should give them the scenario: if we were still in the heatwave what would have happened to you trapped upstairs without water? I can emphathise with feeling totally out of control when company is forced on you, like you, I don't know why I feel the way I do, but that's how it is, and people should respect that. Dear Rachel...Thanks for the note. Just wanted to stop by to give you a BIG hug and tell you I'm doing okay. We arrived back into town the other day. Dean and I have been all oveer the place in the past 2 weeks. Alot has been going on. Today is our wedding anniversary...22 years. We're still crazy and going strong. We also spent a few days, up at our lake. It was really nice. The weather had been really hot where you're at I hear? Its been awfully hot here. My dog Jake, has been spending alot of time in his dog kennel when he is not outside or on my lap, because he feels really bad if his kidneys give way and he pees on the floor. He still thinks he is a puppy at 10 years old. He is a happy dog, except when his kidneys act up and he pees when he doesn't want to. Today we are planning to drive up to Duluth, which is a port on Lake Superior. Tonight we're dining at a restaurant overlooking the Duluth port, then staying at a nice bed and breakfast with a whirlpool. If we get out of Minneapolis early enough this Thursday morning, we may take in an early movie. Hubby would like to see the new Terminato flick. I think is what he said. Who knows, I've been too forgetful lately. Stress ya know. I probably should have emailed instead of taking up your note space here. Didn't think of it till this second. So sorry.
