I had seen this article a few days before, and lots of others recently about women feeling bad about themselves because they don't look like the people in magazines, who don't actually look like that themselves. http://www.newsweek.com/id/135166/page/2 I had a female British friend who appreciated attractive women, and one day I IM'd her a photo of a Hooters Girl who was my friend, taken at a bikini car wash. My British friend took five minutes to believe that someone actually looks like that in person. Sorry if I bugged you. Have a great weekend. |

| Just passing through... Neat diary! But, I would add that Suicide Girls has a VERY bad reputation in the publishing industry. Basically, those girls sign the rights away for a very small amount of money and are held to contracts that limit their ability to model elsewhere. SG likes to promote itself as doing a good thing by showing "real" women or "curvy" women, but in some ways, they are more exploitative than sites and publications you might think are much worse, like Hustler. |

| I followed a news link the other day to an article at Newsweek or somewhere about how much airbrushing and photoshopping is being done to make celebrities and models look the way they do in magazines. There's a lot of backlash about it right now because it takes women who look fine and makes them "perfect" for a camera, but doesn't show real life. There was even a video with it showing the twelve major changes they made to a 14 or 15 year old girl for a magazine. I think it's better to look at people you can actually see in person and use them for inspiration if you want. Take care. |

| Wow. I'm not sure whether I should say sorry, or you're welcome. You need to have a place where you can express yourself and work things out for yourself. My husband knows all about my diary - but doesn't know my username and doesn't read it. If he did, I don't think I'd be happy, but he knows that it's my spot to vent and to work things out for myself. My suggestion to you is to either lock your diary and just give out the pswd to those who you want to have it - or switch to a new username. As for not wanting to upset Jeff, I totally understand. For the first few years I always held my tongue and didn't want to upset Todd - even though he'd upset me all the time. Deep down I was afraid that he'd leave me if I upset him. I was wrong. I make him upset all the time now :) As for your differences in your opinions on pregnancy, you definitely need to talk - even if you're not pregnant. This way you can feel more secure about where your relationship is. Ok, I know that I've said a bunch and I hope you don't mind me putting my 2 cents in.
