i did like your Year Eight in review.
from raven72d :
Merry Christmas...after all these years of reading you, I do hope your 2009 goes well, too.
from raven72d :
How is December? Is it snowing in your part of California?
from raven72d :
the 22 november entry... lovely visuals...
from bombasine :
thank you for the thoughtful note about my wretched water heater - i had to hustle, but it's been replaced and brought up to code. hot water is such a wonderful thing!
from raven72d :
where will you post the new portfolio?
from bombasine :
regarding travel and medication - i seem to have the same problems. fuck, i have mad respect for what it takes.
from raven72d :
I love your descriptions of southern California...
from raven72d :

Kapucinski... Hmmm... have you read anything by Vargas Llosa?
from raven72d :
Good luck on the bloodwork.
from chumped :
can we write a detective novel together one day?
from scandust :
Hi, thank you for your note and the compliment. I think I *will* continue to write; it is cathartic for me. I took a quick peek at your diary and I like how you title your entries by what day it is, very charming. I'll have to sit down and read more of your entries when I get a chance. Take care.
from old-story :
chronic illness is unfair. that was a really nice entry, though.
from old-story :
it's okay. medicine is bad. it is very bad. it saves one thing but hurts you somewhere else. so is the plight of our lives, most of the time. when you succeed somewhere, you fail elsewhere. hang in there.
from division-day :
beautiful. that entire entry sounds like it came straight from my own thoughts, including the beckett quote.. he's been in my mind a lot. being new in new places is addictive. also i agree about so cal. happy new year!
from chumped :
you're so close! are you gonna make it to dc?
from old-story :
you have the same isms as me. except that yours are real. it always kills me to hear others talk about their failing bodies. i know how it feels. things always seem like they're breaking.
from delighted :
I find myself falling in love with you. In the perfect novel, movie, moment kind of way.
from division-day :
wow. that's so beautiful. it's like a fairy tale. i didn't even know there were white deer, let alone in SD. i've never been to that park. it's lovely.

i don't remember you, did you have a diary before? at any rate i'm glad you found me because i love your writing and photos.. they make me feel strange.. sad and happy and hopeful and like crying and like i understand. especially your song lyrics. exactly the songs going through my head lately/my entire life. and i'm going through a klonopin phase too. at least it's not heroin, i don't double my dosage weekly like i did with heroin, and it makes me feel alive instead of dead like heroin. also, are you in arcata? you mentioned humboldt county. i lived in arcata for 7 months this year and i love it. i'm going to new orleans after christmas to volunteer, then hopefully back west, maybe our paths will cross, cause we certainly seem like kindred spirits. this is really long. keep writing and living and walking around cities, everything is worth it. love, becky. ps i used to want my name to be lux, too. there used to be a paper store in minneapolis called lunalux and i thought it was the prettiest name ever, but you beat me to it. congrats on the lovely name..
from wateryone :
I love all the photos you've been taking lately. I understand them a lot more now that I live in a hot country!

facsimile of fine... that's a simulacrum if ever I heard one. what good is happiness/contentness/being okay if it's not original, or at least authentic? I haven't seen the original Solaris, but have only heard good things about Tarkovsky.
from wateryone :
you read Orhan Parmuk? You special thing! I love My Name is Red. i wish everything was in such minutae, all the time. Love Jenn.
