That really is cool. I didn't even see you had written until today and I was very excited to see that Diaryland still has hope! I wish I could write while in South Africa, but I'm sure my access to the computer will be very limited. Oh well, I'll definitely write when I get back! I miss you.

well, what i actually said that even if you're french, i will support you and your quest to fun historical facts. i never said that i support the french in and of themeselves (however, they do make excellant wine and movies). as far as bluegrass is concerned, i was tempted to just make you look it up yourself (which you still could, if you are interested), but i thought that i would give you the gist. when irish immigrants moved to america, many of them settled in the ozarks. while there the intense poverty and american influence altered the traditional celtic music that the irish brought with them. it became the roots of bluegrass. even today if you listen to it you can hear the celtic influence. interesting, yes? irish history month is a great success!
