i'll scan the pics for you if you'd like to see. not that i'd want to rub it in or anything. i was choked when chester brown decided to quit under water before taking it to an ending. that was the first comic that got me really excited about comics. i have hundreds. ed the happy clown? how bizare is that? and joe's obsession with porn, those guys are crazy. seth just smokes. brian ralph is also a favorite. i'd like to try a little strip or something. i really can't draw. maybe i'll paint it all out and then make it smaller. how strange and unfair is it to be able to paint with detail yet not be able to draw a simple illustration. drop by the art exchange and show off some of your work. you can host your pics there as well. see ya around -bionic

i love you illustrations! i've always tried to create my own graphic novel with pasted on images because i can paint big pictures and build huge monsters but sadly can not draw. i met the D&Q crew, joe matt, seth, chester brown a few years ago at a friend's house and they were all sitting around scetching what was going on. i kept the pictures, chet gave me a few tips on faces and bodies. i still can't draw. i'd like to see more of your stuff.

I used to feel the same way when I didn't get calls or emails, but for some reason the lack of those communications doesn't bother me as much as it used to. I don't know why. I am so into my recovery now that I really don't have time for much else, including what's going on in my friends' lives. It doesn't mean I don't care about them, just that I have other things on my mind (like they obviously do too) and we will get together or talk when we all have the chance- you know? I am not sure if this is helping or not. I suppose what I am trying to say is- don't let it get you down. Concentrate on yourself and as you change and grow, they will notice it and will begin to appreciate you again as a friend. Our drinking has done a lot of damage and we can't really hold it against others b/c they were hurt by it. We can only change ourselves and do our best from now on and hope to right as many wrongs as possible. If I am way off base, sorry, I just related to how you were feeling and thought maybe it was for the same reasons.

Welcome to diaryland. I read your message and your entries and while I am not as eloquent about expressing my feelings as you seem to be, I can relate. I have only been in recovery for a month and it is very different to say the least. I am looking forward to the day when dealing with my addiction does not consume all my spare time (and some of my work time). All I could see in my old life was things getting worse-the proverbial rock bottom. At least now there is hope for something better.
