Hey hey, the other week I was surprised to see that a documentary/historical series was on TV called "History's Greatest Heroes" or "The Greatest Heroes of All Time" or something. Anyway. Who were the heroes featured in this series? Alexander the Great, Napoleon Bonaparte, Genghis Khan... yes, slaughtering large numbers of people in pursuit of the satisfaction of your own stupid vanity makes you a hero. :( But then, there's a positive way of looking at this. I mean, if that's where the traditional "hero" comes from, then the current watering down of the word is actually a step forward... see what I mean? Interestingly, the very first Hero, of Hero and Leander fame, was a woman, and killed herself because Leander drowned while swimming to her tower. :|

Hmmm.. I guess what I was trying to say (in my typically muddled and roundabout way) was that having "the one" in your life doesn't necessarily make things better. I certainly wasn't trying to say that it necessarily makes things worse, or that love is always awful... just that it can be, and that it's not just things interfering with "love's true course" that can be awful... but love itself. I agree compromise and communcation are important in a relationship, but I'm not sure that they're a cure-all for it's problems. I think, for some relationships, there's just no way to make it better... but anyway. Enough of my opinonated drivel. ;-)

Darling, I'm gutted to hear about your kitten. Now I'm not sure how it works where you live, but in the UK, organisations like the RSPCA and Blue Cross or the Cats Protection League would help out with medical bills or provide discounted veterinary services if it meant saving an otherwise healthy animal. It's really worth a try.
