from boxx9000 :
CONGRATULATIONS!!! WhEeeeee! I am soOoooOOOoo proud of you! HOORAY! woot! woot! That really is quite an accomplishment. I'm so sorry about school starting up again, I really know how you are feeling, it's so hard to go back, I want my summer to last forever. Will your job change now that you have your Phd? Will you still teach at the HS? Will you look for a teaching position at a university?
from boxx9000 :
7-7-09 ANY word yet?
from theswordsman :
Thanks Dana. I hope you're enjoying your summer. Take care.
from boxx9000 :
1-28-09 I was thinking about you and hoping all is well with you and yours? ((((hugs))))

from boxx9000 :
Your letter is *M*. enjoy.
from whystinger :
I am glad you get to see Nana every day. That is so sweet and thoughtful of you! You are a blessing to her. As far as being in a home, I am sure that she is doing much beter there.
from whystinger :
Sorry to hear that you were sick. It doesn't seem like it has been two years!
from boxx9000 :
I'm sorry you were sick, that's no fun. CONGRATULATIONS on hitting the 2 year wedding anniversary mark. My husband and I just celebrated our 2 year RE marriage mark. I'm really sorry to hear that school is difficult for you this year, I soOOooOOO understand how ALL time consuming school can be. I hope you two have some special time planned during the Christmas break? How goes your phD work?
from boxx9000 :
I'm guessing you are busy with school? I miss you.
from boxx9000 :
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
from whystinger :
I do appreciate you...
from whystinger :
Another 200+ days to your 38th??? how did you get so darn much younger than me??????
from tmb :
Here's to a better September, Dana!
from whystinger :
Hey Dana! I am reading another book from the library. Stop Whining, Start Living by Dr. Laura Schlessinger. Good book and I wish my wife would read it. I had an attitude adjustment when I lived in NJ. I abso-fucking-lutley hated living there. I don't know what happened or why, but I decided to be happy and then life got pretty good. Find a way to work with him... wish I could help...
from boxx9000 :
I could work on an advanced degree OR I could teach, but I could NOT do both. There are just not enough hours in the day. You are truly a SUPER WOMAN! My BEST friend's son, daughter-in-law and grand daughter all live in Georgia. The son and wife attended Emory and she is working on her PhD while teaching at Emory. I am definitely in awe of women who get their PhD's
from whystinger :
I am glad Mark is okay. How about an update?
from sasori-gal :
Oh no...thank goodness Mark is okay. Sending good thoughts your way.
from cocoabean :
trucks can be replaced, Mark can't. I'm glad he is ok... as for the truck, thats what insurance is for.
from boxx9000 :
I'm so sorry to hear of Mark's auto accident. I'm glad he is ok. ((((hugs))))
from tmb :
Oh, Dana! I feel for you! I still have two more weeks before school starts, but then again we don't get out until mid-June, either. I'm like you, I love it once I get back into it, but that transition from vacation to work is HORRIBLE.
from boxx9000 :
I start back to school tomorrow, too. cry. cry. cry. I DON'T WANT MY SUMMER TO END!
from sasori-gal :
Enjoy your last day of summer vacation! Mine just started, but we only have a month. *boo* I love Boris' T-shirt that he has on that "Finding an Egg" photo. Bones to him for being good outside the crate! *yay*
from whystinger :
I have been doing the happy dance since Honi went back to school Tuesday!!!! (yeah, what a jerk I am)
from whystinger :
Tell me more about the special ed kids... I would love to hear your prospective on it. You always have a good attitude about that... which means those kids are blessed by you...
from whystinger :
Going "groanery shopping?" What, you taking my wife shopping with you??? LOL. My sis and kids have a Wii... they tired me out with it pretty good. You will enjoy it. Try the boxing. Nice and aerobic.
from boxx9000 :
We've been looking for a Wii and a Wii fit. It's impossible. You have to be at the right place at the right time. Best Buy, Wal Mart, Target, Sears. I keep checking, but no luck. CONGRATULATIONS. We played my son's Wii and LOVED it! Now we want one! and at our advanced ages hehehehehe.
from sasori-gal :
Oh, happiness! I don't know how you found me, but thank you for adding me as a buddy because now I've been introduced to your fabulous diary. omigosh...Boris is ADORABLE! My pup Sinbad sends warm licks and hugs in honor of Boris' birthday. Looking forward to reading more! Cheers!
from fifidellabon :
Hallo, Fifi here, thanks for stopping by! And WHAT a cute dog you have! AND you are very cute as well! /Fifi
from cocoabean :
Happy birthday to the coolest dressed pooch around!
from tmb :
That puppy ice cream sounds like something I'd eat! And good luck on your dissertation. I went through enough trauma getting a 26-page research paper done that I can't even imagine the huge amount of work you're involved in.
from boxx9000 :
Boris is ADORABLE! My fingers are crossed for your BIG paper. I am in such AWE of you and all your hard work towards getting your phD. You are a SUPER WOMAN.
from cocoabean :
Hi again! My daughter got a Focus, and she loves it. Everyone I've talked to said that Ford really got it together on the 2007 model... so it should be a good car....
from shear-madnez :
Your voice is beautiful too!
from simplify :
I just heard you utter! Your voice is exactly how I imagined.
from boxx9000 :
Hi Dana! I thought you had dropped off the face of the earth! So good to hear from you. Are you thru with school for the summer? Are you thru with your phD program? I don't know how you do it. It's all I can do to manage teaching History and Art to 6th graders. Thanks for the compliment. I've been working hard on my exercise kick. I've lost 40 pounds since my highest weight a year ago.
from bindyree :
John and I have owned a used 2003 Ford Focus for coming up on three years now; I think you'll grow to like the car more and more if you keep it for a long time. :-)
from whystinger :
Gosh, I thought I sent it to you before... can you ID "parsnips" and unlock "taters" ??? hope I still have your email
from whystinger :
I am glad Mark was able to fix the Dodge... See if anyone has a "Financial Peace University" class by Dave Ramsey near by... and also start putting away SOMETHING for emergencies if you don't already. Here's a trick that works for me. I started with a set amount, automatic transfer to savings/moneymarket fund and after a few pay periods, didn't miss it. When I get a raise, say $30 per pay period take home, I add that amount to the automatic transfer...
from tmb :
Whew! Glad Mark was able to get the car fixed!
from whystinger :
Over in Valdosta working and was thinking of you guys... I know you are close here. Boy has Valdosta changed since I worked here regularly...
from whystinger :
Dr. Dana! Wow!!! that is wonderful. I know it is really hard work. Good to hear from you.
from mzbee :
Good to hear you are OK. How many days are left in the school year for you? I think we are at 39? We get out on May 30.
from whystinger :
And I am soooo glad that you are still alive... I thought of you and Mark as I drove thru Nashville. BTW, finally made it thru Lakeland, GA.. Absolutely gorgeous (but then so is most of Georgia). I am happy that you two are doing well and I am a bit jealous... Mark is a lucky man to have you.
from harakiri :
glad to read how well you guys are doing, well, except the job hatred. :D
from whystinger :
I will be heading to Moultrie and have been thinking of you to lately. Shall I blow the horn as I pass through your town?
from alexi-lane :
your amazon wishlist has like 90% of the same stuff I want! I see you're in to Anne Boleyn ;)
from boxx9000 :

from whystinger :
Tis time for you to update your diary, teach!
from boxx9000 :
UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! How's school? How's life? How's your new hubby? How's the dog? Have you bought any new shoes? Updating at least once per month would be good. I MISS YOU. I hope all is going well at school and home for you and yours.
from boxx9000 :
I'd LOVE to see a picture of your classroom! High School would look so much different than elementary school. My 6th grade classroom was soOOooooooo much easier to set up than when I used to teach kindergarten or first grade or even 4th grade. HOORAY! I think I'm going to like teaching the *big* kids. hehehehehehehe.
from boxx9000 :
You definitely qualify for my idea of an SSS WOMAN (strong, smart, sexxy) and......you have a lot of shoes. Where do you keep all of them? I'm so happy to hear you are happy. Go Dana! an SSS Woman is like a super man, only 3x better.
from boxx9000 :
Dr. Dana.........I like how that sounds! How's your headache? ANY new pictures of you, hubby, and dog. Will you get to take a mini vacation anywhere this summer? Send me a post card!
from harakiri :
all happy and stuff, how cute are you! :D
from boxx9000 :
Are you STILL doing school stuff? WHERE are you? It's SUMMER!!! (6-26-07)
from boxx9000 :
The last time you updated was 5/11. Are you out of school yet for the summer? Come over to WOrdPress!!!
from whystinger :
School's out soon eh? I hope all is well and he is recovering well. Keep me posted on the vehicle stuff. How old was the truck and how bad the damage?
from harakiri :
Gah! I hope the rest of May is better for you guys! Congrats on being an Aunt, it's so fun. :D
from boxx9000 :
BOXX HAS MOVED DIARIES. YOU CAN FIND ME AT: http://boxx9000.wordpress.com/
from boxx9000 :
Thanks for your note. I've been wondering how you were doing. Did you get everything made better with your sore tooth? Is school almost over for you? My last day of school is May 31st. Soon it will be summer. Are you planning any sumer vacations?
from danddteacher :
Ouchie!!!! I'm glad you're starting to feel better, but man, that sounds awful!
from harakiri :
ooooouch! You poor thing! Teeth suck. I'm so glad you are on the mend!
from boxx9000 :
There's a reason why teeth are targeted for torture, no? I'm glad you are on the mend and sorry you had to suffer so. Be careful with any infection with your teeth, there is a connection with heart disease. You're NOT supposed to be having pain filled nights.......YOU'RE STILL HONEYMOONING! ((((hugs))))
from whystinger :
Welcome back - you were missed. Glad the marriage is well, but I knew it would be!!!
from boxx9000 :
I LOVE that black and white wedding pic of the two of you. How TALL is Mark?
from whystinger :
So you get married and stop updating??? Newlyweds are busy!!!!!! I know you two are having fun and I am glad for you!
from boxx9000 :
It's official.....I'm a 6th grade teacher for next year! WheEeeE!
from corndog5377 :
So.....what, you think cuz you go and get married that you just don't have to update anymore???? I'm soooooo insulted!!!! Pffftt...Whatevah
from mickey225 :
I know what you mean about feeling boring... seems to be my life too! Man... you guys are going this month? We're going to be down there in May! :)
from tudor-diva :
Awwww! Look at your purdy new layout! Married life kind of gets you all settled down doesn't it!
from boxx9000 :
I knew you liked Hello Kitty (my daughter does, too) I think I've asked you this before, but WHICH Hello Kitty charms do you have? Do you have a JUST MARRIED one???
from kitchenlogic :
I just assumed you were too busy honeymooning to remember to check in with us!
from boxx9000 :
This is the question I always ask my daughter everytime she gets sick, "Are you pregnant?" hehehehe. I was sick a couple weeks ago and THREW up. When I told my daughter about it she said to me, "Mom, are you pregnant?" hehehehehe.
from boxx9000 :
♥ HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ♥
from danddteacher :
Thanks for your kind words. They mean a lot...
from cdives :
I love the wedding pictures! Did you find getting married so close to Christmas just made things crazier -- I feel like I've been non-stop busy since our wedding Thanksgiving weekend. Love the dress by the way, that one was the very same one I almost got (cost of alterations compared to the one I chose off the rack made the decision for me). CONGRATULATIONS!!
from danddteacher :
Yayyyyy!!!! I LOVE the pictures, especially the one at the fence!
from harakiri :
You too are so freakin' cute! I loved all the pictures! What a gorgeous bride you were! I assaulted your Flickr pictures with comments, lol.
from iamafatgirl :
Yay! Congrats! I love all the pictures (also the ones on flickr!) Sorry about Nana...I'm glad that she'll be taken care of and that you will get some much needed rest. Love ya!
from corndog5377 :
::Squeal:: !!! I LOVE the picture!!! It's gorgeous!!!! I SO can't wait to see more! Congratulations on the wedding, everything sounded wonderful, romantic, intimate....everything I'm sure that you guys wanted, and suited you. I'm so sorry you had all the emotional stuff with Nana mixed in with the happiest day of your life. I can't imagine having that all heaped on, on the same weekend!! Thankfully everything is settled now, and while it's difficult, I agree with you that this is probably the best thing for all of you involved. Congrats again, waiting for more pictures!!!
from tmb :
Congratulations, Dana and Mark! That is a beautiful photo!
from ameliorating :
Congratulations to you and Mark! May God be with you and bless you May you see your children's children May you be poor in misfortunes, Rich in blessings May you know nothing but happiness From this day forward I can't wait to hear more about it. Feel better soon!! *hugs* Jen
from noaddedme :

from shear-madnez :
Congratulations!!! Hope you feel better soon. That picture is precious.
from danddteacher :
Hooray! Congratulations! And that picture is FABULOUS!
from ladybugge :
Congratulations, felicitations, best wishes, mazel tov and all that stuff! The photo is lovely. May you have a long and wonderful life together!
from harakiri :
aawww! I love that picture! Congrats to you guys!! Can't wait for more pictures! I'm glad you at least got sick *after* the big day! Feel better soon!
from sweetiee :
Awww, what a sweet picture, even if it is a profile. Sorry to hear about Nana and the sickness. But you know it will probably be what is best for Nana. You and Mark have to concentrate on being newlyweds. Hope you feel better and can enjoy the honeymooning!! WooHoO!
from kitchenlogic :
Congratulations! I can't wait to see more photos!
from boxx9000 :
CONGRATULATIONS! Happy Birthday to Mark. Sorry about your Nana and about you getting sick. I can't wait to see all your wedding pics. How does it feel to be MR & MRS? Are you on winter break from school? When do you go back?
from ursamajor :
Hey, married lady! I can't wait to read all about the big day.
from harakiri :
Squuuueeee the big day is tomorrow!! I can not wait to see pictures!
from mickey225 :
Make sure to get some rest between now and next week! :)
from beckers-j :
Hey! I'd be glad to share the password info with you. Is the email address on your diary page still current or is there someplace else I should send it?
from kitchenlogic :
My goodness! Do you realize how soon you're getting married?!!! Do you?!! Oh, I suppose you do. This is so exciting. And definitely stressful. Especially with your mom and Nana. Take care. Enjoy the high parts and keep us posted!
from tmb :
I've been going through something similar with my mother recently. It is very hard, but the good facilities try to be as homelike as they can be. Plus, you can be assured that she is getting the care she needs around the clock, which is good for both you and her.
from harakiri :
*hugs* it truly does sound like the best thing for everyone, for you and Nana. *hugs*
from chaosdaily :
it IS a hard thing to do. but you have to think of whats best for Nana.. and if you are stretched thin already, you wont be good for Nana. *hug* i know what you are going through.
from harakiri :
eeeee! Less than 2 weeks! :D
from harakiri :
I love all the wedding stuff! I saw it on FLickr awhile ago and forgot to comment! Happy 3 years :D
from tudor-diva :
LOVE the frosted candle holders. So pretty. And I just wanted to say, I don't know how you do it all, work, Nana, wedding planning..... big hugs to you.
from corndog5377 :
ooh, look, my Dland account ISN'T defunct...I only thought it was! cool! Okay...a note, a note.... I LOVE the wedding stuff! SO pretty! I realllly like the large candle holder, the one you said is for the mantle. So pretty!!! And I love the base holder for the pillar candle too...gorgeous! So neat! Man, your colors/scheme is going to be beautiful...I can't wait to see it all come together. Tell us more, tell us more!
from rainbow85 :
Everything for the wedding looks gorgeous!!!! Every blessing to you and Mark!! Love and Hugs Sarah Ps, your hello kitty pumpkin seriously rocks!!! :)
from noaddedme :
Everything for the wedding is very pretty! I'm so very happy for you both!
from palmfrond :
I'm sorry you're having so much trouble over Nana's situation! It's so hard to see your loved ones put into a home, I know. It's great that she planned ahead on this, though, to save her assets. Big hugggsss! Tonya (P.S. This forced me to remember my Diaryland name and password, hehe, so I guess that's a good thing!)
from milkmaid :
Sorry to hear about your Nana. I can relate as my mother is recently in an assisted living center. It's hard to do and feels wrong, but if you get a good one, the people who work in those places really know what to do with their patients. My mother is actually thriving - and I don't know how that works. Good luck.
from danddteacher :
I love the pumpkin!
from sweetiee :
CUTE pumpkin! I want you to make Katie one next year! As for Nana, she should not be your responsibility. Time for mom to take over and find help for Nana, because you, young lady, should be taking care of you and Mark. If your mom can't handle Nana, then neither should you. She needs more help then you can give her with working full time and about to be a newlywed. I pray that all goes well and that a right decision is made.
from chaosdaily :
its always hard to make that decision... but you have to do whats best for your nana..
from mickey225 :
Oh my goodness!!!! And no one else will help out??? Sounds like more needs to be done with Nana!
from boxx9000 :
YIKES! That's soOooOOOOOo scary!
from chaosdaily :
oh i believe it.... dad was independant up to the end.
from kitchenlogic :
Oh man Dana! I'm glad Grandma wasn't hurt! What a little stinker! Maybe this is what your family needed to finally listen. I'm so sorry.
from angelblshn :
i know what it's like to tell family members how it *really* is, but they just dont' get it until they are there and see for themselves. i'm glad Nana is ok and no one got hurt. Good luck!
from tmb :
You two look great together!!
from noaddedme :
Great pictures! I didn't recognize him w/the hair cut :)
from mickey225 :
Oh my goodness!!! How CUTE are the TWO OF YOU!!!! Love them both!!!!
from danddteacher :
Great pictures! The first one is my favorite!
from msboombastic :
Such cute pictures! YAY!
from harakiri :
You two are adorable! What a cute couple :D
from chaosdaily :
oooooo so nice!!!!
from alwaysmuted :
You are so pretty in your pictures:) Congratulations :)
from annanotbob :
Beautiful!!! I like the first one best too xxx
from sweetiee :
Sweet! I like the first one.
from boxx9000 :
I ♥ your engagement photos. You look soOooOooOO pretty and soooooo happy!
from kitchenlogic :
Cuuuuuuute! You two make a gorgeous couple!
from boxx9000 :
I was wondering what happened to you? It had been so long since you updated last. I thought of you. One of the male teachers at my school is turning 50 and he HATES cats, so we are throwing him a HELLO KITTY theme party! hehehehehehehehe
from tmb :
Great news about the job! Congrats to Mark!
from mickey225 :
Oh that's great that all the plans are coming together and that Mark got the job!!!! YIPPY!!!
from danddteacher :
Yay for Mark's job!
from harakiri :
Yay! Awesome!
from kitchenlogic :
That's great news Dana! Congrats to the two of you!
from ameliorating :
Congrats on Mark getting the job!!
from alwaysmuted :
Hooray on Mark snagging the job. I know exactly how you feel! hehe.
from johnguinness :
Congrats on the great news! Take care. John
from chaosdaily :
i emailed you that list!
from iamafatgirl :
Heyyyyyy! I felt the same way too at the Masquerade, like I was too preppy to be around all the hardcore kids/goths. I felt like they were giving me weird looks. Anyways, how's the wedding coming? How's your life???? Tell me, I must know.
from yeahimadork :
Since I have a link to my wishlist right on my blog home page, I don't think it's tacky at all to list your registry. Some of the people that read my blog are really good friends of mine, they just live a kajillion miles away. And that puppy? Holy CRAP with the cuteness.
from mickey225 :
Never feel tacky about telling people where you're registered... but then I do the same thing too! LOL Wow... 91 days... DUDE!!! I'll be a MOM before then!!! How FREAKY is that???!?!?!?!?! I'm so happy that everything is going SOOOO great with you guys!!!!
from iamafatgirl :
I heart Tuck Everlasting and The Awakening...those were 2 of the books on your random list thingy. Much love oh soon to be married one!
from teachin-usa :
OMG! Sooo adorable!! Pet stores are dangerous!! Did you spend a small fortune?
from boxx9000 :
BBW is ADORABLE! I have always wanted a baby boXxer. What, you didn't name it BoXx?
from kitchenlogic :
Yay! I love him already!
from tmb :
He's so cute!
from danddteacher :
Oh my gosh that is the cutest puppy I've ever seen!!!!
from iamafatgirl :
Love you!
from boxx9000 :
Hello. I'm baaaaaaaack! God Luck on the new school year for you (and me) Love, BoXx
from yeahimadork :
Wow... you guys are living together! How awesome. I'm still new to this whole "long distance romance" thing, so I'm still in the separated-by-3000-miles phase. Grrrr.
from ladybugge :
I doubt most people even think about how much teachers spend on their work. I remember shopping with my mother (who taught in the Chicago Public schools) - she'd have a voucher for $50, or once a whole $75!, and then charge two or three times that at the teacher's store - and that was just at the beginning of the year. There certainly weren't any more vouchers.
from tmb :
I guess my three more weeks off make up for my chagrin when you get out of school at the beginning of May! Happy first day back, though!
from mickey225 :
Ok... first off I feel SO out of the loop!!! But now I'm caught up! YIPPY!!!!! About the ring, the dress and of course Mark! :) And Nana... my grandmother went through the same thing... she told me once I had a fat ass... it hurt, but I knew it wasn't the real her talking to me... so hang in there!!!
from whystinger :
You gotta remember, she is probably suffering form dementia and is not always there mentally. It is a shame she treats you like that, but she may not realize it is YOU. We went through that with my Great-Granny. My Grandmom was pissed at my Mom and Uncle when she was put into the home and acted like she was out of it when they were around. She did that when I visited once. Didn't recognize anyone, till Mom walked out of the room, then she turned to me and said "So Wyatt, what's new? How's Honi?... It was a few years later when she lost it.
from boxx9000 :
((((hugs)))) WHO is taking care of Nana when you go on your honeymoon????
from chaosdaily :
im sure it hurts to hear her say that, but you have to realize it IS because shes old that she says that... hang in there!
from harakiri :
omg, girl, that dress is just stunning! You are goign to look so beautiful in it! I want the day to come quicker now so I can see wedding pics! Hurry up December!
from msboombastic :
Oh, I love the dress! I love the colors red and white together, too, and I was thinking about having those colors when I was planning the-wedding-that-never was. Pretty.
from boxx9000 :
That dress is BEAUTIFUL. How perfect, an *apple* for the teacher. hehehehehe.
from chaosdaily :
oooo yea i like that dress! and you know, its your wedding, so get what you want. thats whats most important.. hang in there with nana, she is likely having some mental health issues. maybe her doc could help you out with that...
from harakiri :
I think my in-laws were married on Dec 16th, I don't pay attention to them :P How exciting! Diamonds! I want to see the ring! Glad you guys made it home safe and sound :) Where are my postcards? ;)
from ameliorating :
I'm glad you had a good, safe trip! I can't wait to see pictures of your ring!! I know how you feel about Neb.. and corn, most of the surrounding states are so boring to drive through!
from taralynn :
Oh Delly! I am so so so happy for you. You of all the people in the world deserve this. Enjoy and cherish every moment. *hugz* Love, Belly
from tmb :
What a long, long drive! But how exciting for both of you!
from smedindy :
Oh, the corn is fine, as long as you once in a while have some beans. My wife, for some reason, likes driving past cornfields. But she's from Kansas - home of wheat!
from boxx9000 :
WhEEeeeeEE! for diamonds AND post cards. Thanks for thinking of me. I will put the cards to good use. "81 year old toddler" hehehehehe. I haven't *scored* your BoXx spontaneous replies, but I'll get on it soon. THANKS!
from christay :
your wedding day is on my birthday! ;) Congrats.
from kitchenwitch :
Awww! Thank you and bless! She is beautiful!!! My little angel. I have a feeling I am going to be taking a lot of pictures of her!
from boxx9000 :
CHANGES are always hard because, well, it means a CHANGE. It all works out somehow, it always does. I think my son holds the record for the most moves: 10 schools by 10th grade. YIKES! he turned out just fine, graduated H.S. at age 16.
from tudor-diva :
If you want ribbons on your invite then by God you put it there! Remind me to tell you about our wedding invite nightmare sometime. Oh hell, maybe I'll just do an entry about it.
from sweetiee :
That is why I didn't get my mom a bell when she stayed with us last week. She was recupperating from knee surgery. I "almost" got her one, but decided against it. I'm SO glad!
from theswordsman :
Thanks Dana. Take care. John
from mickey225 :
I LOVE the cake topper!!! That is just too perfect!!!
from boxx9000 :
The penguins are adorable. I love the bouquets, too. Please take lots of pictures! Will you be changing your name at work?
from harakiri :
Love the cake topper!! I wanted polar bears but end up with a white topper of bears, which was close enough for me :)
from danddteacher :
OBVIOUSLY a nightmare! You're so into Mark! *S*
from coffeegrind :
Those are gorgeous dresses!!! Wow - 174 days!!!!
from harakiri :
Oh yeah, gonna have a registry?
from harakiri :
oooohhhh pretty dresses!! I'm the same way. I can't imagine "tracing up" the ring Ben slipped onto my finger on our wedding day or that I wore as a symbol for our upcoming marriage. Even if one was less than 100 and one 100 from Walmart! lol My mom always traded up every couple years. It made me sad.
from ameliorating :
Congratulations!!!! I love the dresses and the idea of the little chinese boxes with candy. I can't wait to see pictures! Have a good trip to Phoenix! *hugs* Jen
from annanotbob :
I'm glad Nana is out of hospital and that things are moving. The dresses are lovely - it's so exciting!!! Hugs xxx
from boxx9000 :
Although marriage is not for ME, I am so damn excited for YOU! WheeeeeE! I feel like my daughter is getting married. I like the colors you chose, it's PERFECT for Christmas time. WHERE do I send cards and presents??? (hehehehehe) CONGRATULATIONS! (and a VERY happily ever after)
from ladybugge :
Mazel tov!
from smedindy :
Squeee!
from boxx9000 :
WOW! Before year's end. That will be a good little tax deduction. A December wedding will be beautiful. What colors?????
from danddteacher :
Nana's home AND there's a wedding date?! That's awesome! *hugs*
from tudor-diva :
Hugs to you and prayers for Nana!
from angelblshn :
Keeping Nana and YOU in my prayers. Please keep us posted on how she (and YOU) are doing!
from harakiri :
Nana is in my thoughts!
from boxx9000 :
So sorry to hear about your Nana and the hospital stay. How old is she? What sort of medical problems? I was raised by my Grandma and she was more like a Mom to me. (((hugs)))
from boxx9000 :
Are you working on your PhD? My princiPAl brought in her daughter's dissertation (?) some really thick BOOK she had to write to get her PhD. Her focus was linguistics. I looked at it and thought......NO WAY would I EVER be able to write that much.....EVER!
from kitchenwitch :
Aaaw thank you!
from tmb :
Too bad about the money issue - I too hate feeling strapped. But you're right, I'm sure you'll just do what you have to do. And you know that you're making sacrifices for good reasons, to finish your doctorate and for Mark to move to GA, so it'll all be worth it in the end! I'm thinking good thoughts for you!
from boxx9000 :
Don't worry, Be happy.
from msboombastic :
I absolutely loved The Pact and Plain Truth, too. My favorite was The Pact, but both were really great. I didn't get as into her other books, though, but I'd like to read her latest one.
from whystinger :
When Honi and I married, she had me move ALL of my stuff out. It didnt' bother me for maybe a day. After that, I felt like a stranger in my own home and she felt like a stranger too. It can be difficult. Make sure he has some space of his own and try to combine all the stuff you can. This will be a good exercise and if I know you, you will be able to combine both "households" wonderfully and involve him too!
from boxx9000 :
Dave always tells me everything will work out (and it usually does) But, when I am all excited and worried I want him to acknowledge THAT and not just tell me it will all work out because that makes me feel I am a crazy hysteric for even thinking it. See? Just tell Mark, you *understand* his worries and no matter WHAT happens you will work on it together to solve it. (((hugs)))
from ameliorating :
*squeal* I'm so excited for you guys!!!! I know that everything is going to work out great! Btw, when do we get to see pictures of your new paint colors? I'm a interior design freak and love seeing what other ppl do. Hope you have a great weekend! *hugs* Jen
from msboombastic :
See, I expect a friend to be quiet and not say anything because my friends know that I am my own worst critic...and I just don't think it is right for them to say something if I haven't solicited their opinion. I guess we just disagree on that. :)
from cdives :
Why is it your school year ends (and therefore starts) so early? I know some schools up in the high arctic (look to those islands north of Canada's mainland) have that as their summer vacation, but that is becuase that is the only time it can be called summer, by September snow is back on the ground. Brrr. Thanks for all the nice comments.
from astralounge :
Thanks. It's been really, really hard. I'm sorry you've been affected by it as well. It just boggles my mind.
from angelblshn :
Does Mark realize that when he moves there *he'll* be helping with Nana too? And does Nana realize that she'll have another set of hands to help her with whatever?? i certainly hope Mark doesn't think he's going to come live there and do nothing to help *his* nana (which is what she'll be, pretty much).
from boxx9000 :
Mark needs to be your #1 priority right now. Can't someone else take Nana's care on for awhile??
from misspinkkate :
Thank you- I will post pictures, when I have them.
from danddteacher :
re: track out - I don't know if you were reading when I explained, but I work at a multi-track year-round elementary school. Because the kids all come and go on different schedules, I work all year; HOWEVER (this is the redeeming part of the schedule for me), since I work 11 months instead of 10 I get paid for the extra month. Also, I get 23.5 "track out days" during the year. Those days are that 12th month that I'm not working. So I get to scatter them throughout the year and I get taken out of the schedule when I "track out". It'd be kinda like if instead of having your summer vacation, you split those days up and had a break every couple of months. So when you see me type "track out", read it as "vacation".
from pischina :
Dana-Elayne, thank you so much for the gift! That was incredibly nice of you and I can't tell you how much I love it and wanted that book. Thank you so much!
from tudor-diva :
I would be scared too. That's a plethora of life changes to go through all at one time and the stress has got to be overwhelming. I am staring the following in the face myself: a new baby on the way in January, husband coming home in a few months possibly without new employment, if no employment then no health insurance, and having to learn to live with hubby again after almost three years apart. Getting married, moving and leaving a job for an unknown work situation, that would really stress me out too. You guys hang in there. Its situations like what Mark is facing that are the reasons for being married; so you can support one another through stressful and tough times! ((hugs))
from smedindy :
Well, it would be scary. Just be as supportive as you can in as many ways as you can. Also, just start to bombard him with as many job links as you can.
from danddteacher :
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! That means so much!
from astralounge :
Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate knowing how many people out there care.
from whystinger :
Bird shit on one's head is supposed to indicate good luck...
from boxx9000 :
I'm sure bird poop is probably a good omen of some sort. hehehehe. Is school almost over for you? HOORAY! SUMMER V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N!!!!!
from harakiri :
hehe @ your dad! I saw the pictures, they make a very sweet couple! Here's to years and years of happiness! :)
from smedindy :
Hey, I get the emails from the registrar of seniors who did not qualify to graduate and get a diploma after 4 years at college (small liberal arts college) and it's always about 3 days before graduation. How about THAT call - "Yeah, Mom, I failed ONE credit and won't graduate this year. After $100,000 over 4 years. I know!" So I feel your pain about that one student. Have a good break!
from boxx9000 :
I wished you lived closer and could help me with teaching writing.
from boxx9000 :
YES! Every classroom is equiped with a special sound system. The teacher wears a microphone. It was originally for our hard of hearing students but research shows it benefits ALL students. It is WONDERFUL to have. The PTA bought one for every teacher in every classroom. I also have a portable microphone that the kids can use when they speak. It's really great.
from danddteacher :
If it makes you feel any better we're testing one of our groups next week and just today they decided to sit down and set the list of administrators and proctors. Sheesh!

Happy Birthday!!! I've just finished reading Salem Falls this morning, but I won't say a word about it. xx
from boxx9000 :
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
from ladybugge :
I'm just catching up, so a belated Happy Birthday from me. I took the quizzes, couldn't sleep, and got the same results almost exactly - funny.
from smedindy :
I got "Back In Black" as well. ROCK AND/OR ROLL! Wooot!
from boxx9000 :
I think most teachers have got to be O/C. How else could anyone do this job?
from theswordsman :
Thanks for the good wishes. I did a bit of research, and a lot of people with type 2 diabetes don't have any symptoms at all. It will be good to get tested and to know for sure. Have a great weekend. John
from ochweidnit :
Yeah, I have had the same issue moving my kids to a predominantly-but-not-entirely christian country town school. Even though its a government school they say prayer at assembly. I told them in a letter that this contravenes their school manifesto of "embracing diversity and multiculturalism" but it got pointedly ignored.
from boxx9000 :
Whatever happened to separation of church and state? That would definitely NOT go over here in Sonoma County, California
from boxx9000 :
My daughter, Kelly, is a BIG fan of all things Hello Kitty. Come play pogo with me! WhEeEeeEe!
from angelblshn :
Congratulations on a date for M to move here! Hope it all works out for you.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun! I'm glad your trip went so well..and I'm so excited for you! I really hope everything works out.. July will be here sooner than you know! *hugs* Jen

What a fun trip! And how exciting, July is right around the corner! I'll keep my fingers crossed it all works out and Mark moves out this Summer!

from chaosdaily :
who is george clinton?? im off to blingo to find out..
from smedindy :
I suppose George Clinton is one guy you wouldn't mistake for anyone else. How did he sign the case - "Extrafunkabootylicious!" or something like that??
from whystinger :
I have a sneaking suspicion that she DOES know where it (the bill) is and is hoping I won't pursue it. Her new bill needs to be paid, so this will be really interesting. I don't know if she is hiding someting, or is she just trying to keep control. She has been having emotional problems again and she is fighting to remain in control of herself. That doesn't make it right.. BTW, have fun with Your Man. Any job leads pan out yet?
from annanotbob :
Thanks for that, teach! Have a great time with Mark xxx
from boxx9000 :
I'm counting the days until Spring Break, too. We don't start ours until 2:30 PM on Good Friday. GOOD TGIF!
from harakiri :
have a wonderful time with your boy!!
from annanotbob :
Hiya - no, I didn't get your email. Thanks anyway. I got a note about it that I'm building up to attempting to follow... Good to hear about your pay increases and that the parent backed down. xx
from noaddedme :
When people say "what's wrong with kids today" it's so freakin' obvious! THE PARENTS! Omigod, you made little Timmy COLOR!?!? What kind of mad mad woman are you? (and what's wrong with the kid that coloring takes *that* long that it's disrupting his life?)
from annanotbob :
Oh God, that parent made me want to SCREAM. If their kid got 100 on the other thing why are they in such a state? Beautifully measured calm reply though - respect. What age are the kids you teach? Are you on a break now as well? Hope so and that you have a lovely chilled time. xxx
from tudor-diva :
March 30, 2006 (I wish the notes feature in DL automatically inserted the date the note is left) That's it! All extra credit projects will NOW require the students to go to Westminster Cathedral and do a brass rubbing of a tomb!
from flutterbees :
Awesome response Dana. It amazes me when you talk about some of the things these parents do. You are obviously a wonderful teacher and these kids are very lucky to have the opportunity to learn from you. I can see how frustrating it can be, I feel for you.. .and admire you for doing it so well.
from alwaysmuted :
You go girl! Haha. Good job on the response letter.Professional and makes them look stupid. I will need to learn from you,my educational yoda! Haha.
from tmb :
Excellent response! What a maddening situation all around.
from msboombastic :
Aren't parents the worst sometimes? Your letter back was awesome. My worst parent note this year complained about a behavior report that I gave a student--the student did not actually give the parent the behavior report, but told her that he received it for "talking in class at an inappropriate time." The parent wrote me a note that said that she felt that talking at an inappropriate time was not a big deal and he should have received a warning. The behavior report said, "Talking repeatedly while I was talking. Many warnings. This is a problem every day." The note was so infuriating to me because she hadn't read the referral, but also because it was so condescending--"Try a warning next time." Um, yeah, I never thought of that. Thanks for the tip! And thank you for giving your child the message that talking at an inappropriate time is, "no big deal." Because your kid (and five others were talking at inappropriate times) it wasted a ton of valuable instructional time because I couldn't TEACH. Yeah, no big deal...grrrrrr.
from danddteacher :
OK, that totally sounds like a letter I'd get from my ELEMENTARY SCHOOL parents! Get a grip, folks! Oh, and way to use some Howard Gardner for your defense. Woo hoo!
from chailife :
Somebody probably made mom rush out because s/he needed crayons NOW to finish a BIG ASSIGNMENT! Kids can be so good at misrepresenting what their teachers said to their parents.
from harakiri :
oh. my. god. Coloring. My mind exploded.
from danddteacher :
It's exactly when the bad stuff happens that I need to know there's a plan.
from chaosdaily :
coloring? sheesh dude would never complain about doing any art work... what king arthur reading are you doing? im a fan of the king arthur thing...
from danddteacher :
It must be in the air. Last week I found out that my assistant principal who's my assessor (and who I get along with very well, I might add) went to Lesley at the beginning of the year and asked her the following question - "What DOES Rachel do in Dance and Drama?" Apparently his daughter had told him that all we do is watch videos. Well, YES, we do watch clips from time to time so that they can see an artist or style that we're studying. But all we do is watch videos?! You've got to be kidding me! And what's worse it that Doug actually had to ask if that's what we do!!!
from smedindy :
Too MUCH coloring? Yeesh. BTW - thanks for the add!
from tmb :
Oh, press on, Dana, press on! ;-)
from boxx9000 :
Are you working on you PhD?????????? Are you crazy? I can't even imagine working on school stuff while working on school stuff. You KNOW what I mean. ((((hugs))) GOOD LUCK!
from annanotbob :
Hope you're feeling better - you've been poorly for TOO LONG! Love xxx
from tudor-diva :
*Soothing calm tone* Shhhhh, its all OK. -or- Rant on!
from annanotbob :

from harakiri :
*HUGS* Is you moving to UT not an option?
from tudor-diva :
Glad you're feeling better! And your kids rock!!
from chaosdaily :
thanks for your comment. i know it isnt always the teacher, or always the student. i think dude still has a chip on his shoulder about the teacher saying he hated him last fall... but i am not the only one who has a problem with this teacher, and i needed to get the principals perspective on this. he gave me some helpful tips for the dude, so we will see what happens!
from flutterbees :
Aww Dana, I hope you are feeling better!! I hate being sick, and it sounds like you got it bad. Hugs!!
from alwaysmuted :
Hi.I noticed that you are a high school level teacher. What is that age like? I am thinking of adding a single subject credential with my multiple. You teach English/language arts? What is that like? I was thinking of doing English. Let me know and share whatever you wish to share with me. Also, the doctoral program you are part of,what requirements were needed to enroll in it and what do you feel are the positives and negatives of it? I hope I am not overstepping my bounds. Thank you:)
from annanotbob :
Hope you're feeling better. I've thought of a cast list but don't know how to add them. I'm an absolute beginner with html - I've only recently found the instructions for making links. Sam is my long term partner, Sara's my daughter who lives with us, as does her bf Adam. My son Renny comes and goes. My daughter Sammie lives with her partner Gavin and son Tony. Today they're all getting on my nerves. I love reading your diary and getting your notes xxx
from tmb :
Your "where I'm from" entry ended up sounding very poetic, didn't it? :-)
from boxx9000 :
I sent you my password but the email was returned as UNdeliverable??? Send me another email to boxx9000@yahoo.com and I'll try again. I must have typed in something incorrectly?
from tudor-diva :
And the shot is loverly. I think looking off center maybe wistfully into the distance would be a natural progression of this artistic endeavor!
from alwaysmuted :
That is awesome!!!! I want to go for my doctorate too..someday.Good luck with it,sweetie!
from alwaysmuted :
Hi.Just wondering..what are you studying for??
from harakiri :
*cough* you couldn't pay me to wear a 10,000 dollar ring. Theres so much m,ore 10k could go toward! I'm cheap I guess lol
from harakiri :
oohh another blogger who got Czech Republic! I'm jealous, I didn't get it and I'd love to live in Prague (well, at least visit ;) )
from ameliorating :
Ugh, don't you just hate USPS? We have stopped using them for packages after paying a ton for stuff and not getting it! Plus, they supposedly have it so you can "track" your package, except they never update it, it always says "we have been informed that your package will be picked up on 00/00/00".. I hope the rest of your week goes better! Ooh, you will have to show us your new Birks! I'm such a shoe girl, but my feet are so wide so its so hard to find cute shoes!
from boxx9000 :
When is your spring break???Mine starts on April 17th. If my Mom was alive she would be 80. Both my parents died 6 years ago. (sigh)
from tmb :
Ugh, it sounds like it turned into "one of those days." But happy birthday to Nana tomorrow!!!
from misspinkkate :
I'm glad I'm not the only one stalking myself!
from whystinger :
Has he had the chance to check out any of the job leads? I wondered about that aircraft builder in M. GA and also some of the others. Let me know or email me. I may have a few other ideas... which will require some research for he or you.
from purplebanana :
I love your recap. I want to steal it and use it all the time. Also - how long have you been doing WW? I once lost a ton of weight with them, gained it back, and now I live in a land of procrastinating ever losing weight again. Still, I make a cute chubby girl. I think.
from whystinger :
Hurray for you on losing 7!!! I know where it went - to me. It must have lost a few itself on its way to me, as I picked up five and am pissed at myself. I am almost back to 250 :( I clicked in on your pics, saw a pic of Simon! Damn, what a great looking cat!!!! So, why is it all the teachers I know are short on the patience??? You, Honi, Vi and I could name a few others... That is funny to me. You guys are building minds of children and you seem to have no patience, but you really do with the kids...
from harakiri :
Has having kids ruined my memory that much, or is it the lack of sleep? I don't remember you mentioning you joined WW! Glad to hear its working for you! Or , more, your working the program! Woohoo on the loss so far! :)
from mrcleanluver :
hey, i noticed you were talking about a sitter for Nana. if she doesn't have any medical problems, you could use Home Instead Senior Care. i work at one up here in mini-soda and i know there's one in valdosta. i don't know how far that is but there are tons of other ones in georgia. that's where you are right? well anyway they're all over the country. you can have them once in a while or 24/7 or on a set schedule or just as needed. whatever you want. just thought i'd let you know :)
from danddteacher :
IEP meetings - Yuck! Oh, and we had a really horrid principal for a year and a half, then the parents started complaining and all of a sudden central office swooped in and got rid of her. We were excited because she can't ever be a principal again, but what sucks is that she work in central office now. Sheesh!
from megsworld2 :
I hate the waiting on somebody reading my stuff too. Best of luck on all your writing.
from whystinger :
I just caught up a bit. so what's the deal. Did we hire assholes for principles all over Georgia this year? Was that some Statewide plan? Sheesh! At least the one here resigned... so there is light at the end of the tunnel. Stay strong... Oh, the new guy here pulled the same shit too. Treating teachers like children.
from tudor-diva :
OK, the overthrowing the monarchy thing is hilarious. I am just going to make one up for myself here: "I will not poke fun at the size of the King's cod piece."
from chaosdaily :
my son figured out that he can transfer music from a cd onto his mp3 player with the puter... made life a whole lot cheaper!
from misspinkkate :
An iPod is a life-altering thing- you will never be the same! Enjoy!
from mickey225 :
They are SOOOO beautiful! :)
from danddteacher :
My sister's a high school band director. If anyone needs to be able to have a key and the security code it's the band director, but no, instead the athletic director waits in her band room as soon as a game is over and insists that the kids go ahead and get out of the building so he can lock up. Becca and the band end up waiting outside in the cold for their parents to come get them. It's insane! This is one plus to my classroom being a trailer. I have a key and it's not on the alarm system.
from theswordsman :
Size 4 is excellent because you can keep a spare pair hanging from the rearview mirror of your car. I think the tallest reader I have is maybe five four. I'm not going to attempt to figure out why that is. Have a great weekend. Good luck with Chapter one. John
from theswordsman :
I know. I think if I had made it one more year without the answer, it would have developed into a tumor or something. I can't believe people read 6200 words. I was actually a hilarious sight once I started writing. I got to two thousand words and posted, looked at the clock, knew I should get ready for the play, and then just kept on typing like I was on deadline or something. Take care. John
from ameliorating :
Happy Valentine's Day!
from heidiann :
Thank you!! Pink makes EVERYTHING better. =)
from mickey225 :
That is just INSANE!!!! What is this world coming to?? If they are college prep, then they should be reading MORE!!! Don't give up... things have to get better!!! *hugs*
from danddteacher :
Wait, some parent complained because you're actually making his/her child READ?! Whatever are you thinking? *L* It always amazes me what parents will complain about. When I took AP Lit and AP Language my junior and senior years of high school all we did was read. We finished one book and started the next. As a result I was very prepared for those tests and for college. Don't worry about it - you're doing the right thing.
from tudor-diva :
And its things like this that have kept me from going into teaching. Chin up. Keep the smart pouring into those kiddos!
from annanotbob :
Outrageous! I'd be upset as well, especially if I'd worked as hard as you have to set this up properly. Why weren't the parents given a bollocking for being so stupid? They are all bastards. Everyone running education everywhere. Hope you cheer up and have a good weekend xxxx
from harakiri :
Parents complained because you are making them read another book? Really? WTH? It's not like you're making them read 5 books at once! Jesus. And some parents wonder why their kids slack in school or their test grades aren't as good elsewhere. Parents around here are constantly complaining about their kids education but keep voting no to give the schools more money. Makes no sense to me.
from tmb :
It's funny, ever since I started working I've always been paid just once a month. I can't imagine a paycheck weekly, or every two weeks. It seems like it would be confusing, like what bills would you pay out of what check?
from boxx9000 :
The State of California pays once a month here too. (teachers are state emplyees) I have my paychecks spread out evenly over the 12 month year. It makes the summer months much more tolerable.
from tudor-diva :
December 16th since you got paid? WTF?
from iamafatgirl :
I understand about Mark being a butthead. Jeff and I had a HUGE fight today and we almost broke up...but anyways, I absolutely LOVE "The Crucible". I mean, I LOVE IT, like whoa! Just thought I'd let you know!
from amitoopunk08 :
Hi, where do you get your hello kitty images for your diary layout? i love them. im obsessed with hello kitty.
from flutterbees :
Yikes on not being paid for over a month!!! How come the long wait? That would so suck! I love your new phone though, hehe, so cute.
from iamafatgirl :
Thanks for the comment about me and Jeff...Dana, I totally understand about how much you love Mark..."I'm just wrecked by how much I love him." I couldn't have said it any better...You're such a sweetie!
from boxx9000 :
Where were all your Seniors?????
from whystinger :
I like, no love the idea of the clothes you left (one in, one out). I wish she would act empowered and sell the clothes... She used to take them to a consignment shop... She could do eBay too... I have one more phone call to take and hopefully can have a good second list for you two...
from maddeningly :
wow! dana! that pic of you and mark - you with glasses and mark with the nightmare before christmas shirt on .. that is just gorgeous. seriously, a beautiful photo. you guys are such a hot couple!! :)
from theswordsman :
Okay, I had just stopped blushing from the other one, and then you ...Thanks and stuff. Take care. John
from maddeningly :
i'm over at livejournal! same user name as this one. you're on my list over there .. and you'll have to log in to read now - i've gone friends only. thanks to an annoying, spying cow *cross look* but come visit!! :) *mwah*
from astralounge :
Thanks! I love my pink tree, too! Unfortunately it's only 5 feet tall, but our house isn't huge so it's ok. I found the tree at Junkman's Daughter's Brother, which is the Athens relative of the Atlanta store Junkman's Daughter (in Little 5 Points). But I bet you could find them online pretty easily, too.
from chaosdaily :
i heard about a website last night where they said you could read for an hour a day and make 6 figures a year... sounds too good to be true. unfortunately, i forgot the name of the website. it was readfor something.
from annanotbob :
Thanks for adding me - I've added you too. Nice to meet you xx
from boxx9000 :
Thanks for your note re: teacher brain! (hehehehehe)

from iamafatgirl :
Did you get the Christmas card?
from mickey225 :
I'm SO glad that you guys had a great time!!! And 2006 will be your year... I can feel it! The pictures were great too!!!
from whystinger :
Your friend's larger feet would be like mine, so she is a "my sized" woman. I wouldn't mind that at all... Dee was like that. I will leave you a quick email about your entry today.
from boxx9000 :
Can't Mark be your house husband for awhile until he finds work?
from grrl-blog :
Wow, that ring really is gorgeous. I hate flashy jewelry, most of it is so tacky; but that ring is in good taste. I have a bunch of horrendous huge gold rings from my wedding that sit in a little box in my closet, but I would wear yours!
from mrcleanluver :
by "home" i mean with you. just in case that didn't click. (it's 5 am. i need sleep. that's my excuse for sucking)
from mrcleanluver :
Your ring is beautiful!! Wow!! I know how you feel about the separation. My boyfriend and I were apart for 4 years when he was in the Army. He was in Iraq and Germany for most of it. *ugh* I PROMISE it will get better and it will be worth every single second of anguish once he's home. EVERY SINGLE SECOND!! Hang in there... I know it's tough. *sending good karma and happy thoughts and plenty of patience*
from boxx9000 :
That *IS* a beautiful ring! I am also a fan of the black pearl, so pretty. Sorry about the separations. But, doesn't that make you extra happy to be with each other when you can? (sorry, trying to think of something positive) I'm happy you two got that special *usmas* time together. Inservice stuff? YUCK! I have one next week.
from harakiri :
What a beautiful ring! I hope Mark is able to join you permanently soon!!
from bindyree :
I just wanted to stick my bits and bytes in here and say Happy New Year, and that I'm glad you're on my Buddy List! ♥
from flutterbees :
Merry Christmas Dana! I hope you had a wonderful one, and that you have a great visit with Mark. The pictures of Simon are just adorable. Thanks too, for all the encouraging messages while my mom was in the hospital. You are a great friend. Hugs.

from tigerlily21 :
Happy Holidays!! Hope you have a fantastic time with Mark!!
from gwenllian :
I love Ann Rinaldi's books, but I haven't read those. I read The Virgin Blue last year. You'll have to let me know what you think of it. I loved it.
from mickey225 :
Oh my goodness... you poor thing... Sounds like you need some time away from ALL of them!! Hope things get better!!! *hugs*
from gwenllian :
I had to login to leave you a note, because I can't find your guestbook. First of all, I hear you on all the Nana/Mom stuff. My family gets like that during the holidays. Well, all the time. Second, I understood what you meant when you were talking about Kerry in the last paragraph, but I wondered if everyone would remember that his girlfriend is Kerry, too? And finally, have a happy holiday, and I'm glad we're friends. Love, Dana
from tudor-diva :
Hmmm, plug in heater/cooler. That is DEFINITELY something my dad would like. Thanks for the idea!
from boxx9000 :
HOORAY for vacation! Happy Birthday Mark. Sorry about your Nana. we had to get my Mom a buzzer (that she wore around her neck) just in case she fell down and needed assistance. My Mom was stubborn until her last day. INSISTED on living independently. (((hugs))) HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
from harakiri :
Happy Birthday to Mark!
from beckers-j :
Hey, thanks for the Axe tip. ;)
from danddteacher :
No Child Left Behind - gotta love it! *L*
from boxx9000 :
I LOVE the Hello Kitty Italian charms! I have the tennis palyer and my daughter-in-law has the surfer. WheeeeeeEeeeeee! which ones do you have??? ALL OF THEM?!

from whystinger :
Nephew. I think I have talked about him in the past, but not much. I should have a cast page....
from shear-madnez :
(((((Big Hug)))))
from iamafatgirl :
I heart you Dana! I hope you're having a marvelous day!
from grrl-blog :
my cat was very interested in your floaty snowflakes. i can't believe you braved the shopping insanity. there is a woman at my work who does it every year. i think i'd either stab myself or another shopper dealing with all that shit.
from harakiri :
I love the Holidays, the wrapping, the giving, the cards. My cards are all addressed (of course theres one in there for you!) and my gifts all wrapped! With this stupid move god knows if I'll be able to decorate the house at all :(
from flutterbees :
Hey Dana! Your boards are awesome. How do you make them? They are great. Happy Thanksgiving to you :) I hope you have a great day.
from mrcleanluver :
Those boards are so cute! How did you make them? I want to make some for Christmas presents! :)
from quietguy :
May I ask you what you mean by "still waters run deep"? (The comment you made on your favorites page under my name.) Just curious here...I hope you don't mind my asking. Q.G.
from mickey225 :
Those boards look great!!!! GOOD JOB!! And the bracelette... SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!
from harakiri :
I wish I were half as crafty as you!
from dope-slave :

from harakiri :

from chaosdaily :

from harakiri :
Ben and I hardly fight and I sure as hell don't have an idealized view of him :)
from whystinger :
Mark does seem to be a treasure... I dod play with your quizzes... I am weird, stupid and a slacker in H.S... great, I feel better LOL!!! I like you with the snow in your hair, but the black and white pics are awesome. You and Mark make a good lookin' couple. Moultrie is coming up... I hope I can make it, I missed the Ag Expo. Be well
from angelblshn :
Mark sounds like he's an awesome guy! So glad you found him and are so in love. Congratulations on 2 years! WHOO HOOO!
from harakiri :
oh my gosh, 2 years already!? SO fast, what a wonderful relationship! :)
from msboombastic :
Thanks for the supportive notes. They really meant a lot to me.
from mickey225 :
The pics LOOK FAB-U-LOUS!!!!
from tmb :
Hi, Dana! Love the black and white Halloween photos of you two! I kept trying to think who you reminded me of in your costume and make-up, then I realized: the little waif (Cosette?) on the posters for Les Misérables. Cool costume!
from flutterbees :
Great pictures Dana! You look so very happy. I can't wait to hear more about your trip.
from beckers-j :
I can't believe you have a size 4 foot! That's insane! ;)
from quietguy :
Hello Dana, I saw that you added me as a favorite. I thank you. Always nice to know that someone is reading. :-) Q.G.
from theturtle :
Thanks, Dana. I do appreciate it. I get hurt so fucking easily I could be a study somewhere. BTW, Ani DiFranco was from Buffalo... I used to live there and mixed sound for a band, and while I don't KNOW that I met her, I might have. Those were hazy days. I did meet Natalie Merchant. She's cute.
from whystinger :
I tend to agree with you, use the nap if it works, after all, it is most likely healthier...
from chaosdaily :
if you need to know how to do the makeup, just ask one of the students. they all seem to do it! hahaha
from iamafatgirl :
I so tried on that shirt at Torrid! It shows a little bit of my belly, so I didn't get it. I love that shirt though.
from harakiri :
Great outfits!!
from whystinger :
I hate some of those sugar cookie candles... they make me hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)
from maddeningly :
i LOVED 'girl with a pearl earring' (only in my head i kept calling it 'girl with a pearl necklace' .. it made me giggle every time. i'm an adolescent boy though, so it's ok) :) i didn't much get into the movie (although i really wanted to) .. but the book .. oh my word!
from tmb :
Okay, I'm officially jealous of your days off!
from mickey225 :
wow... that's pretty neat... wish work would do that for us... I even asked about working from home, but they didn't go for that :( Oh well! Enjoy your long weekend!!!
from whystinger :
BTW, I like the new hair do, it looks cute and a bit sassy! How's the year going?
from whystinger :
Q has been very aggressive since we got him, not much change since the de-clawing. As you know, I was not really fond of the idea... Before the de-clawing, he would put him paws on each side of my nose... Afterwards, I am happy that he still does that. He seems to need to reach out and touch us once in a while. I took a nap tonight and he was good to me, jumped on the bed, slobbered on my face, then nestled in my arms and snoozed for a while, then went and laid on my feet, then my side... I think it is a kitten thing, like the vet says
from yeahimadork :
Love the new template! :)
from willow-rain :
I like the hair. Very cute and very classy and not very short in my book.
from misspinkkate :
And yes, I do love Bring It On, as any sane person should!
from misspinkkate :
Thanks for adding me to your list of favorites! :-D
from harakiri :
Ben doesn't like short hair either thats why I cut mine last year when Eli and I were in CA ;) But when he picked us up at the airport I was surprised cause he really liked it! :) If Mark could see you in person he'd love it I'm sure.
from mickey225 :
OH WOW!!! I love it!!!! The color is great and the cut really looks great too! Didn't even see the pimple! And there's nothing wrong with looking 12! Better than looking 40! LOL
from tmb :
Hey, hot hair! ;-) And you shouldn't have even mentioned the pimple - I couldn't see it either!
from happyredhead :
OMG your hair looks great!!! And I so couldn't find the pimple lol
from harakiri :
H.O.T. DAMN! Can I date you?! ;)
from simplify :
Thanks for your note! It made me laugh.
from f-i-n :
very cool diary!
from whystinger :
Thanks for the note. That was an entry I have wanted to write for a long time, but couldn't find the motivation. The demands were messed up for sure, but so was everything at that time. She was suffering from a pretty severe depression and I didn't know what the heck was wrong. There were other weird things happening, lots of strange stories, all indicators something was wrong and while I knew somehting was wrong, I didn't, or couldn't fathom what was wrong. She would tell me, "face it, you just married a bitch" or "oh, well, I guess we just won't get along for this weekend." I can't remember them now and I hoped I would never forget... I don't want to repeat that. The sad thing? If I would have realized that there was a problem and what the problem was, and where to get help, we both would have suffered less. I guess that is why I still stay. She is still under treatment for depression and will be for the rest of her life. For some reason, I don't want to abandon her while she is sick... And the funny thing is, the depression, or clinical depression is heredity and she can't help it. I am blessed by the fact that she remembers the sickness and takes her medicine each day, because she doesn't want to get worse. Yep, if she stops, the gets ill and I feel that each episode causes further degradation...
from beckers-j :
Thanks for adding me! :) I'll be sure to check your diary out, too.
from chaosdaily :
but why knot???
from tmb :
Just reading your daily routine makes me tired, tired, tired! It's starting up for me as of this coming Monday - where does the summer go?
from whystinger :
Sorry for the advice... I couldn't resist. When I taught, like 20 years ago, I had (still have) a TIAA-CREF retirement account. I only put in for two years and man has it grown. You keep surprising me... Man Lady, you GOT IT GOING ON!!!! and you should be PROUD!
from chaosdaily :
*slap* ok, now just relax. it will happen soon enough.
from harakiri :
Forgot to add, Ben had debt, 2 maxed out credit cards. 2 years later they were paid off. Not too shabby.
from harakiri :
Ok, *I'll* move in with you for a house that sounds that awesome for that cheap! We don't live in too shabby of a place, 2bd, 1 bath duplex for 450 a month, but what you described sounds like the perfect house for our family! When I moved in with Ben I brought no debt to the relationship (cause I was 19 and had no credit cards and didn't own anythign) but I only had 200 dollars to my name :) Money isn't everything and eventually things work them things out. Good luck to you and Mark! *hugs* I don't think y'all are rushing anything at all.
from chaosdaily :
you know what the bible says... love thy enemies.
from whystinger :
I understand Mark's feelings. He is worried about not having a cushion, something for emergencies. That is why Honi's debt worries me. You both are eliminating credit card debt, that is GREAT!!! start to also put a small amount away (even $20 per week) and ramp it up as soon as the credit card debt is gone. At your age, if you save for retirement and just save, you will be able to be worry free and enjoy more of life... Boy, oh boy, that rent sounds GREAT. Over by me, and were what, three - four hours away, the rent is probably three to five hundred dollars MORE for that house...
from yeahimadork :
Wow. I live in southern California and pay the same rent to live in a tiny apartment in the ghetto that you would pay for a house with a swimming pool. That is crazy. You are a lucky girl to have a man want to be with you enough to uproot his life and move to where you are. Good luck to you. :)
from chaosdaily :
a laptop would be a thought for home, but not for work. i have a laptop thats not working right now, i still have to figure out whats wrong with it. it might be worth getting repaired....
from whystinger :
I am very glad that you have known him for quite a while. That makes me happy. I tend to forget that you were married. I am HAPPY for YOU again:)
from whystinger :
I am happy for you, but PLEASE take your time. Don't rush and make the same mistake I made. We had similar agreements. Get him to move near you, but not with you. Make sure you can live together for 6 mos to a year BEFORE you marry. That is what I wanted to do, but Honi talked me out of it and none of my friends cared enough to warn me to take it slow. If we did move Honi here and found her a job first, before marriage, either we wouldn't have as many troubles or maybe I wouldn't have married her... Be careful. Do your self a favor and take the necessary time. The long distance relationships are "Disney dating" - all is wonderful because you miss each other so much, you will put up with lots of crap you wouldn't normally want to do. I only say this because I care enough about YOU to riskk having you get so pissed off at me that you never leave me a message again.
from corndog5377 :
Wow, that must be SO exciting to be thinking of all that stuff! Well, I'm excited for you guys! I hope it all works out, it all actually sounds like a really good plan. I'll be thinking of ya's.
from chaosdaily :
wow exciting! i have 2 credit cards, discover and master card, only because not everyone takes discover. i like it cause i get cash back! i pay them both off every month...
from harakiri :
Oh It's all coming together isn't it?! How exciting, you two are so sweet together :)
from chaosdaily :
i dont know how i missed putting you on my favorites until now. thanks for the comment... *sigh* teenagers!
from chubbymum :
Thanks for the tag on my diary. I don't like homework either.. needless to say I haven't studied in years. He he he he
from maddeningly :
YAY! :) thanks dana .. it is good to be back. i'm a little embarrassed that it was that entry that made you gerry, though. *pink cheeks*
from mickey225 :
Yeah I hear that... water is just so YUMMY! I decided that with being on vacation, I'm just going to enjoy myself. But as soon as I get back, I HAVE to get on track!
from boxx9000 :
Your students start back on a Thursday? How nice. A SHORT WEEK. I'm due back on 8/22. Kids on 8/24. GOOD LUCK on your FIRST DAY back. WhEeeEeee!

BIG HUGS xxxx :)
from boxx9000 :
I did your survey thing. It's at my diary.
from tigerlily21 :
Wohoo! Congrats on the 100! Hope you have a great trip to Utah!! I hope that Mark finds a job close to you or at least that one in FL.. 4 hrs. is wayy closer than you guys are now! Have fun! *hugs* Jen
from flutterbees :

from mickey225 :
Have a GREAT Trip!!!! Take TONS of pics!!!!
from happyredhead :
Hello! I had to tell you that Madagascar is just as cute, I went to see it with my nieces. I loved it. I hope the next few days fly by so you can see your honey sooner. ;)
from chaosdaily :
the shoes are called spira, they have springs in them, which the shoe store claims wont wear out. they are very comfy!
from harakiri :
I don't think its strep, I read the symptoms and I don't really have them, just sore throat and cold... though I could be wrong, we'll see how I feel tomorrow, I may see the doc. Have fun with Mark!!
from corndog5377 :
Okay, seriously...fix the guestbook thing! What's up wit dat? Anyways...I think you made some great points about the curriculum and stuff. I can't believe how narrow-minded those other people are being. You definitely Go!!!
from yeahimadork :
Well, hey. Just stopped by to say thanks for adding me to your favorites! I look forward to checking out your diary. :)
from e-connell :
Ok, from the message of 6/24- I agree with you completely. These people are freaks, obviously. Of course, I also like the idea of year round school- and wouldn't you like more time off in the cooler months for more vacations. Anyway- you tell them! What's the phrase- you go gurl!
from flutterbees :
How pretty! I love it!!! It looks great Dana. I love the color, and the style is awesome too.
from mickey225 :
Oh I love it!!!! I can't wait to do something to my hair... after this weekend SOMETHING has to be done!!! LOL
from heidiann :
I'm so lovin' the color! Also, thank you SOOOOOOO much for your note. I'm actually shocked at the gumption I managed to find!! =)
from tigerlily21 :
I *love* your new hair color/cut.. it looks fabulous on ou, esp. with your eye color!! Hope you have a great weekend!! *hugs* Jen
from corndog5377 :
Where is your guestbook dammit!? I love your new cut/color. I like the straight too. Is your hair naturally curly or straight? You should straighten in more often...very hip looking.
from harakiri :
Oh!My! You look stunning without make-up! Not that you don't with make-up, just, wow, you really are naturally beautiful! And, is that *straight* hair?! I don't think I've ever seen it straight!
from flutterbees :
I love the shoes too! Are they comfy? I so need a new pair of cute gym shoes, hehe. And hey, how come I can't seem to get to your guestbook anymore?
from tmb :
I also like your new summery look!
from flutterbees :
I love the new look, very summery. I think you should stick with it a little bit, I bet it will grow on you.
from msboombastic :
Thanks for the encouraging note...things are feeling better, but it still sucks. I miss him. I like the new look of your page, too.
from harakiri :
I *love* the little Hello Kitty pic, but the white is a bit harsh, but wont keep me from reading or anything ;)
from drowningblue :
I love the summer hello kitty, but I would change the background. I'm more of a fan of lots of pretty colors. Maybe change it to sunny yellow or something? It looks cute the way it is too though so who knows...
from bindyree :
I absolutely love the summer look. Please do keep the white background; psychologically i think we're all used to looking at text on a white background anyway, thanks to the first five hundred years of our reading taking place on paper. :-) And the shooz are NUMMY!
from chaosdaily :
thanks for adding me!
from boxx9000 :
Hi Dana, thanks for your note at my diary. I'll have to start reading you. How did you find me?
from flutterbees :
Try not to stress too much, this is supposed to be your easy, fun time of year. And in less than a month you get to see Mark... wow, it will go fast and you will be there before you know it. HOw long are you staying?
from amitoopunk08 :
I'm PantherSpirit, sorry, my computer froze when i wanted to explain. and yes, i do read your diary so..uh yeah :)

from tara10573 :
Happy Belated Birthday and thank you for Aidan's birthday wishes. We're still trying to decide on what tomorrow's cake will be since he's party isn't until Saturday. Maybe a chocolate frosted donut with a candle in it - he'd LOVE that :-)
from harakiri :
Happy Birthday Dana!!!
from jenne1017 :
JoJo says thanks! Got any treats for my b-day present?? ;) (I tried to teach her good manners but she turns her nose up at them)
from whystinger :
I found your language thing and clicked through. Very interesting. I had a strange combo, but that doesn't surprise me. Hmmm, going to be 34???? Great! Closer to my age than I had thought... (add 11). Hope you have a great week
from harakiri :
Hey thanks for telling us about the free silver jewelry! I've already ordered a couple things as gifts and the jewelery is beautiful!

from aliboomboom :
I clicked on your hello kitty banner. It was so cute. I haven't read a lot but I noticed your younger brothers' name is Griffin. I named my son that in July. I think he's the only other person taht I have seen named that. I love that name. I'll be back to read more!
from jejiep :

from fan4 :
March hasn't come yet.

from omorfia :
Dana .. a little note to wish you happiness and joy for christmas .. and an abundance of love and laughter in 2005. *MWAH*
from caresses :
You write such a wonderful diary!
from harakiri :
aawww you were adorable!
from whystinger :
Why is it the best teachers seem to have problems with the Administration and the sucky teachers are just let be???? That seems to happen in EVERY DAMN SCHOOL I have seen... And it sucks. They should help the good teachers or at least leave them the hell alone. They tend to let the sucky ones be and those are the ones they should screw with! Hope you have a great week and Thanksgiving!
from vegas-girl :
I'm pretty sure its not a migraine since I don't think I've ever had one. I have a slight headache during the vertigo sometimes but not enough to say that is what it was. I'm just hoping it goes away. I really think it is just because I am overtired and still haven't caught up. Either way, I'll keep ya posted. :-)
from mickey225 :
That rings just sounds so PERFECT for the 2 of you!!! So only 69 days until the next visit? VERY COOL!!!!
from harakiri :
Finally can see the pics! Girl how much weight have you lost?! You look gaw-geous! (not that you aren't always gorgeous! ;) )

from feileacan :
Hiya! I followed the link at the diaryland top 100 to you. Will you be accepting new journals at the list soon? Thanks!
from tigerlily21 :
Hope you are having fun (or had fun..not sure if you are back yet) in Boston! I don't think you could have picked a better time to go!! Can't wait to hear all about your trip! *hugs* Jen
from gumphood :

Oh Dana, I hope you're right!!
from harakiri :
*yay* for Kerry! (both of them, hehe) and How exciting to be getting a sister-in-law :)
from mickey225 :
Thanks for the note... it sort of sucks that I had to be like that... but there were just too many red flags popping up...
from harakiri :
Ben and I had that "long distance is too much and too hard" talk on a few occassions, we almost broke up ovee it twice. It gets better hon, just don't give up on something you feel is right *hugs*
from krugerpak007 :
Gosh you are hectically busy now..I hope everything went ok with your grandmother. I stopped by to say hi! xoxo Kathy

from mindlesspop :
"What is WRONG with the people you work with?" EXCELLENT QUESTION! The Christmas party is supposed to be a lot worse than yesterday's leadership meeting. I think I might have to put in an appearance this year ;)
from fan4 :
Yes, you have said how lucky you are....lots of times!
from june-bride :
Well when you mosey on up Atlanta way, give me a holler! :)
from trinity63 :
Hi sweetie, thanks for the note -- well, I am indeed still in school, and will continue until Winter. It sucks to be me some days.
from fan4 :
How did you first learn about Hello Kitty? My first exposure may have been on 7th. Heaven, but I'm not comopletely sure about that.
from tigerlily21 :
I'm so sorry that your mom is driving you crazy! You aren't a child because you like Hello Kitty and you aren't selfish because you want to work on your doctorate or go see a movie. She should know that she is interrupting your life by coming down there, so she shouldn't expect you to just drop everything. I don't know what to tell ya, sweetie. I hope everything gets better! I'm glad you have Mark!! Hope you have a good day today!
from princessa007 :
Thanks for the note Dana! I'm so happy, no more classes (at least for the time being). And yes, boys are yucky.
from june-bride :
Just marry him already!!!
from omorfia :
Not a happy time, but HELL! it's an incredible poem dana. Truly.
from fan4 :
The poem wasn't a happy one, but I liked reading it.
from fan4 :
Nice description of your first kiss.
from ed-directory :
Hi, my name's Lauren and I'm making a directory of eating disorder related links (similar to my other site on diaryland, si-directory) and I was wondering if it would be ok to list you in the diaryrings section though your diaryring isn't really geared towards eating disorders. The site's still a work in progress but it will have a pro-ED section as well as a pro-recovery one. Thanks, Lauren.
from fan4 :
Yea to you for changing the test!
from fan4 :
Yea to you for changing the test!

from skarekrow :
I met one of your ex students today. :) they called into Sonic Radio, at your local Sonic in your hometown :)
from fan4 :
Do you like mixtures of realism and fantasy? If yes, you'll probably like Big Fish.
from fan4 :
Happy belated b-day! You got a lot of Hello Kitty stuff! I got some HK things for my b-day, in March.
from leslieirene :
Happy Birthday. I hope you have a wonderful day.
from watty :
Happy birthday! Hope you're having a fun day celebrating. All the best to you. =)
from bindyree :
I just wanted to tell you thank you for always having something positive and motivating to say to me in my comments section, and that I hope you have a wonderful birthday. Reading your work is a sweet and very valued part of my day, and I'm very grateful that you unfailingly share so much of yourself with us. Again, humbly -- thank you.
from leslieirene :
Hi...I know you don't like me, but I just wanted to say that you look great on your profile, and I still really think your diary is great. Love the Hello Kitty! Love, Les
from treewillow :
Happy Birthday, I hope you have a wonderful day.
from princessa007 :
Yes, I love those dresses! I'm actually getting one of the ladies to give me the number of the place where she got hers made! I am so excited!!! :-)
from omorfia :
when i began 'five people you meet in heaven', i thought the same thing (about anticipating it being a book that would stay with me) .. it was disappointing. I was VERY disappointed. Not that it wasn't an ok novel .. just that (in my mind), the story had SO much more potential. *shrugs* Let me know what you think :)
from chicagojo :
So proud of you with all the walking! You kick some major ass! Way to go Dana!!!
from june-bride :
*girly squeal* hee, dana! AND I'm moving to Atlanta... yeah!!
from mickey225 :
Yep... #23! :)
from omorfia :
oooh! felix one is SO cute!
from mickey225 :
Simon in the dryer just made me laugh so hard!!!!
from omorfia :
thank you ever so much for filling in my surveys :) *mwah* it must be hard being so far away from Mark .. are there any thoughts about *not* being so far away? ;) To answer your question, i have been at my current workplace since Aug 1999! I'm a project manager there, but started lower on the totem pole (i've worked my way up through three positions). i originally applied for the position because i had quit my REAL job (before this job, my working history was in publishing), when my nan died (i sort of went into a tail spin and quit because i was distraught). It was a casual position, but within 6 weeks i was promoted and began the hard slog. Almost five years later, AND I'M STILL FREAKIN' THERE!!! oh dear heavens, shoot me now. :)
from harakiri :
I knew there was a reason why you're one of my favorite people! Thank you for the note you left me after my little emotional breakdown of sorts, it meant a lot to me. *hugs* I may not have a huge support group around me, but I have the support of great friends online :) Thanks
from tigerlily21 :
I can't believe it about Bush either. What a crock. I can't wait until we take him out of there in Nov. 04 either..and now he has made it even easier by turning all gay and lesbians, plus their supporters against him. Love reading your diary. Best wishes for you and Mark.. and Feel better!
from frannny :

from amishboy :
No worries - I have no beef with bratz themselves, or owning them. I'm just confused by the Bratz boys biker. Scary thing, that.
from mickey225 :
yeah I thought so too!! and boy.. could #13 kiss!!! :)
from harakiri :
WooHoo! Congrats on the Masters Degree!
from omorfia :
Dana, that would be wonderful if you could host my bubbles! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I was just saying in the diary I should damn well pull my finger out and get a gold membership .. and I probably will in about a month. If you could host it until then, I would be much obliged! Thank you once again :)
from princessa007 :
Dana, why does everything you say always make so much sense? I have all these confusing thoughts in my head & then you leave me a note and I'm like "Oh. I get it." It's weird because I know it would be a disaster if I dated him again, but for some reason I still want him. hm...
from msboombastic :
I agree with you--I really hope he gets a job soon. Ugh. I'm so glad that things are going so well with you and Mark. I always enjoy reading your diary.
from omorfia :
Happy New Year!! :) I just had to say .. blackberry merlot? sounds YUM!! (btw, if you get this message in both your g*book and here .. oopsy! your book booted me) :)

from harakiri :

from iluvjessee :
HAPPY HALLOWEEN1 GOD BLESS YOU!
from cutie1083 :
Thanks for wishing me a happy birthday:)
from opaque88 :
i don;t know who you are or where you came from, but her birthday was happy. melancholy disappears when 36 people wish you happy birthday, & you don;t know their name or their face. thankyou for yr sentiments; it meant the world to me.
from jenne1017 :
adorable layout! thanks for sending me some b-day lovin'!!!
from fat-to-thin :
When are you going to update im-melting? :(
from princessa007 :
I know I deserve better, but somehow I was happy with him. I really don't know how everything will turn out. He's a great guy, but he just needs to learn to take a look around & think about how other people think about things too. By the way, that's a cute picture you put in your journal today. But you are totally right... I need someone who will treat me how I deserve to be treated.
from harakiri :
awwww long talks... I envy you! I miss those days with Ben. Don't get me wrong, being with him all the time is 100 times better, but every now and then I long for one of those 5 hour, up till 4am talking on the phone conversations. *smile* (this might also be in your guestbook, it was acting up and I wasn't sure if it went thru)
from keilakeren :
Hey there; I realized you like the little badtzmaru so I decided to send you the following; please know that what you’re about to watch is all in good humor only and no badtzmaru’s were harmed in the making of this short clip. 8o) Enjoy! http://fam.dreamstation.com/katklips_003.htm
from vegas-girl :
Did someone go to Torrid????? It's payday and I'm getting the Torrid itch... :-)
from faery-tale :
You tell him, Dana! I'm so proud of you!
from chicagojo :
Amen to that!
from harakiri :
I totally agree bindyree, Dana you rock! You *so* needed to get that out. I can't believe the way Ed treated you, I hope he realizes now that there ain't no dicking around with Dana! *hugs*
from bindyree :
Dana, I've seen a lot of ups and downs in my life this year -- but your rant and your decision not to lock your diary has been for me one of the single most moving and empowering things I've seen another person do in a very long time. For what it's worth from a nodding acquaintence, I'm -proud- of you!!!
from dreamyautumn :
Are you going to reopen submissions for topsites anytime soon?
from milkmaid :
Well, I hope you told that Ed to take his GALLBLADDER to see Les Mis! The NERVE! BAH!
from vixenvipere :
Wow.. good luck with that teacher of the year thing. I am so impressed!! ::laughs:: You GO Girl!!!!
from tornchild :
CONGRATS!!! Way to go! i am rootin for you i just KNOW you'll win!
from milkmaid :
Well, you SHOULD win! Congrats!
from mrcleanluver :
Wow!!! Congratulations sweetie!!! I'm so happy for you!!! :) :) :) :)
from chicagojo :
Congrats hon! Yay for you!
from harakiri :
Trading Card- You are *too* cute! I was squealing over your cuteness last night when Ben walked in and I said "Isn't Dana the cutest?" He came over, looked at your card and agreed, "She’s very pretty." My husband thinks you’re purty ;)
from aaronorear :
Thanks for the kind words...and I'm sorry to hear about your boy trouble. Perhaps that's your problem...you're dealing with boys. Try men.
from harakiri :
I dislike most boys too, but every now and then a special one pops up :)
from harakiri :
oohhh I *loved* that
from harakiri :
Thank You for your note Dana. I know it's the hormones making me extra crazy, but wow, I never thought it would be that bad this early, ya know? I'm feeling 100 times better already; I just hope it lasts ;)
from fan4 :
I've heard of "Sixteen Candles", "Breakfast Club", and "Weird Science", but haven't seen them. Are they good movies?
from amishboy :
A UGA fan, eh? Don't worry - I'll still continue to read you anyway *wink*. I hope you have a great weekend and are able to watch the game! I'll play nice and leave by saying, go southern football!
from princessa007 :
oh yeah... i meant to ask you in my last note... what did it say when it wouldn't let you sign the book?
from princessa007 :
Are you sure? I tested all of the forms earlier and it let me. Very strange. You can just send the info to my guestbook for now. :-) I'm glad you want to do it!
from fan4 :
I'm wearing my pink Hello Kitty shirt today (I took of the spaghetti strapped Hello Kitty PJ top). I love this cat!
from fan4 :
Your Hello Kitty charms are cute!
from vixenvipere :
Thanks for the note! They're not planning 25 minutes for five pages, they're planning 45 minutes and that is for mainstream freshmen. Not SDAIE or language learning or anything. This whole year should be a learning experience.
from c4ryn :
Hello, just wanted to say hi, I found your diary while surfing one day and I've been hooked ever since! I hope you feel better soon - headache and heartache. Car (Scotland)
from trinity63 :
I heard you need a hug. I have a Masters Degree in "Hugology" If I were in person, I'd come bearing chocolates as well:) Hugs hugs hugs!

from neangel :
very cute hello kitt¥ design
from gwenllian :
The new web design is very pretty.
from biensoul :
Thank you for the birthday wishes! By the way, I've never told you that I DIG the blue Hello Kitty; she looks better in blue than in pink, hands down. Chin up, kiddo.
from princessa007 :
good point, dana. :-) thanks.
from iluvjessee :
Hey! How are you? Good here. :) Well, I made a neat webpage and I would really appreciate it if you could go and check it out! I'm trying to atract people to it. www.geocities.com/jessees_hockey_girl74/PraiseHim.html?1059723711410 Thats the address and the link is also in my diary! Please sign the guestbook if possible or if you want to. Thank you God bless you
from bjbear :
i loved the old scheme...this is even better. i said a prayer for denise and her family. such a sudden tragic loss. god bless.
from gwenllian :
Did you find the library cards and pockets? I need to go and get a big chart to put my Harry Wong rules up on. I wanted to look around before I don't have any more money until 8/31 -- know what I mean ;)
from fan4 :
I like your new layout! It's very cute, IMO!
from iluvjessee :
Hey, did you change your layout? Sorry, I wasnt sure if it used to look diff. My prayers are with the family of Denise and Johnny. God bless you
from harakiri :
ppsstt... I am, indeed, pregnant :)
from lip :
I too had been looking for library pockets and so far the best site I could find was http://www.schoolbox.com - definitely let me know if you find a place cheaper (not that their prices are bad)
from iluvjessee :
Hey! I really like the Hello Kitty city bag! LOL I'm a clothes-shopping-girl myself. Only Hello Kitty thing I have is my Hello Kitty box I told you about. Okie dokie! Have a great day and God bless you!
from harakiri :
Thank You! That's exactly how I feel!
from gwenllian :
I'm sorry you had a such a rotten time. I have been thinking about you ever since your last entry -- I should have sent you some love then... I hope Nana feels better soon. Hugs your way.
from erasthai :
hey, just looking around and I found myself here. So I thought I'd tell you that you've got yourself a really cool diary. I love your layout. *smile* well, have a good day.
from faery-tale :
If you didn't go to see the Boston Pops for the Fourth of July, I'm going to shoot you.
from iluvjessee :
LOL This isnt a love note but I really like your painting thing!! Ill take it if you dont want it, LOL!!!!!
from fan4 :
At a Fred Meyer store, I found some Hello Kitty pajamas. The shirt is blue, with an scene on the front. Hello Kitty's house is in the background, along with some tress, a hill, and some clouds. The cute kitty herself is in the foregrond, in a field with some flowers. The top has thin straps, and came with some blue shorts with the words "Hello Kitty" on them.
from unsi-sempai :
Thanks for the note! Boston = the best...
from unluckystar :
Thanks for the birthday wishes! :)
from skarekrow :
yeha i'll never understand things like that. But some women are like that. Someone actually married the Nightstalker of L.A. and he's still in prison. People are just weird.
from missprisy :
I've driven between Atlanta and Boston a few times, and the fastest I've ever gotten here was 17 hours. It looks like you're going a bit out of your way, but if you don't want to drive through New York, then you must know what you're doing. Basically we always went up 95...I can't remember where we connected with it since I don't have a map in front of me. Good luck on your drive.
from princessa007 :
Your guestbook was mean & wouldn't let me sign again b/c I just did. hehehe But we're the same book of the Bible! :-P
from gwenllian :
Yes, middle schoolers are THAT dirty.
from harakiri :
I'd so love to hang out!
from boyfromks :
Hey, thanks for the note. I'm always surprised when someone besides myself reads my diary. And remember, anyone but Bush in 2004. :)
from princessa007 :
"I loathe Bush and his policies." hehehe, we are such opposites with this stuff. :-P
from princessa007 :
Yeah I would try to keep them away from her, which I did with Will... but she somehow found out his screen name and started talking to him. She already knew Justin, so I couldn't really do much about that. But the whole being so "high school" thing is driving me crazy... it's making everything in my life so much crazier.
from mommymartin :
hey sweetie. I know your out of town right now but i really need to know somethign on the diaryland helper issue ive got about 12 other people asking for the job. so let me know by tonight if possible. leave me a note in my g book or email me. thanks doll ( oh i sent you some hello kitty stuff so check your email)
from gwenllian :
You really do freak me out. I almost added the comment to my P.S. that we should cue the theme song to the Twilight Zone. I mean, that was my exact thought. We are frickin' spooky.
from princessa007 :
Yeah that's what I was thinking... it all follows the pattern. I dated Scott - she liked Scott. I liked Adam - she liked Adam. I liked Walker - she did too! I dated Marcus - now she is. And now that I'm dating Justin, well that just fits the pattern. I just didn't want to jump to any conclusions or assume anything wrong. :-/
from gwenllian :
Hey, you and I were both OCD freaking about work on the same day!
from angelabaca :
please remove me from the in-love diaryring. thanks!
from tornchild :
have a GREAT last day!!
from saladwhore :
Thank you so much, sweetie! It was a nice day! Xxx
from missprisy :
Yep Cambridge MA, Cambridge College is a new one for me. What will you be studying?
from girle :
Thank you! BTW, yes, get that shirt! I have the pink one with the black ringers. Thank goodness for Torrid...all the other stores have the tiniest sizes!
from msboombastic :
Lucky! It must feel so good to be almost done.
from fan4 :
I turned in my Poet Report yesterday. I like your new layout.
from mickey225 :
maybe we were separated at birth? LOL
from gwenllian :
I agree about the CP's. Give me the Vocationals any day. They eally do appreciate good teachers more. CP's have this spoiled sense of entitlement. My best moments teaching are almost all due to the Vocs.
from gwenllian :
Thanks for the compliment nd the Mother's Day wishes!
from christay :
How bizarre!! I just took out Confessions of a Shopaholic today at the library and I can't stop reading it!!! I hope I get it done tonigh because I have parts 2 and 3 out too. Great book. ;) Ok just wanted to share that. =D
from dullhick :

from dlandbdays :
Happy Birthday Dana!!! I hope you have a beautiful day, and may all your dreams and wishes come true.
from stoopidgrrl :
its great when your a teacher and you finally get some recognition for doing your job well. my mom teaches in sort of a bad neighborhood but when she finally gets complimented it really pays off for all the stress she has to go through. i also plan on becoming a teacher, your not always rewarded for doing such a hard job but the little things count. take care.
from fan4 :
Thanks for answering my question.
from omorfia :
i feel it was fate too - but then i second guess myself and think that maybe i'm just a whackjob who reads something into nothing. i recognise my gut instincts - but i hardly trust them anymore. i wish i could see the future. just for a minute.
from fan4 :
During my Senior year of Highschool, there were multiple bomb threats. The first one took place in the middle of a student presentation. The school had to evacuate to the field, and buses arrived to take everybody home. Another time, people had to stay in their classrooms. They couldn't leave the room during the normally scheduled break period, not even to go to the bathroom. I don't remember how many bomb threats were at my school total, but I definately felt happy when they stopped coming!
from fan4 :
Where do you get the questions for your "20 questions" from?
from mcdude :
Thanks Dana for being President of my fan club. Sorry to let my number one fan down by not writing for so long. I'll write more I promise. You just need to motivate me!
from fan4 :
How cute! You have Hello Kitty on your diary! I think she's a cute cat.
from mickey225 :
Thank you so much for your sweet kind words. Each day gets a little easier. But I know I'll see him again.
from harakiri :
Thank you for the Easter e-card! You're gonna turn me into a Hello Kitty collector! Everything's so cute ;)
from aaronorear :
Thank you for the kind words, and a Blessed Easter to you! The story of Our Lord's Passion can really shake a person up...there's a visceral connection when you're open to the experience. And I'm jealous of your plans for Boston - it's a lovely city, and one of the more liveable in America...Go Big Dig!
from neko-carre :
Oh, sweetie. I'm sure you know this, Dana, but you totally did the right thing by getting out, no matter how short-lived the marriage was. And I know Shar is doing the right thing too. I fully believe that people should get out when they know it's not right. Why waste your life away in something that makes you miserable? Yes, I can imagine how embarrassing it is - I know Shar probably feels like the Black Sheep because her siblings have done everything "right" and this wedding was just as much for the parents as for her. Shar probably feels like she's betrayed her family, poor thing. That's probably why she's moving away. I KNOW it's not her fault - she just really shouldn't have married this loser in the first place and I *think* she knew that even when it was happening. Sad. Very sad. But she's got a chance now to go forward with her life and make it better, like you did. :-)
from milkmaid :
Do they have "Homestead Suites" in Georgia? Because they're all over California. They're for long-term stays and they only charge, like $399 a week. Good luck finding a place. Bunking together for 5 weeks sounds terribly romantic...
from mickey225 :
Well hi there! You know, Chris said that I should have linked "Caches" to www.Geocaching.com when I wrote about it. It's like going on a scavenger hunt only knowing the latitude and longitude of where you have to go. I've been doing it since September, when Chris and I started to date! Thanks for the question and I look forward to reading up on you!
from neko-carre :
Hey, Dana! Great to hear from ya!
from harakiri :
That's what I am saying!? I wouldn't have been as upset if there had at least been a valid reason listed.
from skarekrow :
hello kitty junkie huh, did you click on the link I posted the other day?
from jenne1017 :
word!
from diarytag :
You are currently it but have yet to post your response to your tag. Please post your response by Friday, the 4th. If your response is not posted by then, we will remove you from the members list. Thanks!
from gwenllian :
Oh, isn't it fun when they get into reading what you're teaching? My kids are loving The Giver. They beg me to keep reading, even when I had planned to let them stop to work on their questions. And speaking of The Giver, read that over Spring Break if you haven't read it. I think you'd enjoy it. I loved it.
from pooky007 :
Might I suggest reading the Dee Henderson books she has two series out. One is the O'Malley series and the other is the Uncommon Heroes series. Check them out!
from angelblshn :
Went to Sears the other day and saw a Hello Kitty Alarm clock. Made me smile and i thought of you! :)
from heaven02 :
hey there, thanks of the favs..I am sorry but I am moving my diary... I thought you would like to know, you can read my new diary at grace02
from peeperjen :
All right, I think we're on to something now with Target and the bookstores. Maybe we should do some research on that, see if there's something in the air. lol
from harakiri :
Oopps, sorry for leaving the same message in your notes & guestbook, haha. SignMyGuestbook was giving me problems and I didn't think it would take the message so I tried your notes.
from harakiri :
I'm so glad you like the lamp! :) Love your scrapbook pages! I recently bought some eyelet tools and have been playing with them for a few days now... I just need to find some stuff to scrapbook! Haven't seen ya around the BB Board lately, everything ok? I've, obviously, been in a major slump the past few weeks but I refuse to give up. Have fun at the Pageant tomorrow ;)
from pooky007 :
Happy Birthday to you (in 48days)! (The day before mine... neat!) How do you like living in Georgia?
from captivated- :
heh very cute hello!
from diarytag :
TAG! What do you think you would be doing if you were not a teacher? How would your life be any different?
from lilredcamera :
Can you yodle? I would kiss you if you yodled. I like to yodle. Yo-duh-lay-eee-oh!
from princessa007 :
Thanks Dana! Glad you like it. Hopefully I'll actually keep this design for a while. :-)
from neko-carre :
EXCELLENT! Now let's hope that they're not just jerkin' our chain and telling everyone Feb 28 just to throw out a date! Praypraypray!
from milkmaid :
Ohh! I'm so glad Ed is okay. That could have been so tragic!
from msboombastic :
How scary for you, thank goodness he is okay!
from chouie :

from wishing-thin :

from harakiri :
Very cute! You're so creative :)
from harakiri :
*hugs**hugs* Feel better soon! Since you’re my weight-lose cheerleader, I'll be your get-well cheerleader... *RAH!* ;)
from neko-carre :
I *thought* there was a "hoooney" after that line, but I couldn't remember! You're so awesome that you got it! I love that movie. "The next time I dress up like a frigid bitch, I'll try not to look so constipated."
from harakiri :
Caboodles! I had a *bright* pink one that was *bright* teal on the inside. My sister broke mine, wench.
from princessa007 :
Sounds like a cute t shirt! I really want a Dixie Outfitters shirt, but I've never gotten around to picking one out. I should do that tomorrow. :-P I thought this was funny too... I got it from the same site as the grits thing... "Do Southerners laugh at different things than Northerners do? Yes--Northerners." --Roy Blount
from msboombastic :
Thanks for the note--I thought that we had a state mandated attendance policy, too, but I guess if there is no money the state can reduce the requirement. Luckily, it looks like it might not be as many as twenty days after all. We just have to wait and see.
from princessa007 :
yeah, i totally agree with you. i didn't get a chance to get on my parent rant. the teachers around here generally do a pretty good job, but they don't have nearly enough supplies to do the job. money is also a big issue. i've known so many teachers who do way more work than they're paid for. parents do need to get more involved. i think that the type of parenting that a child has to deal with has a large effect on how they do in school. but our district is run still run by a bunch of morons.
from astralounge :
Woohoo, thank you!! :)
from princessa007 :
your guestbook hates me. :-( I left 2 messages with some games you could do for just verbs or for all types of words, but it wouldn't let me sign. :-(
from paper-rose :
Zoinks! Wild, I didn't know that. Hehe. I was actually pretty excited when they started selling it in the 12-packs here... it used to be you could only get it in restaurants, movie theatres, and vending machines.
from paper-rose :
New??? Sierra Mist has been around since I was a freshman in high school. It actually tastes quite different than Sprite.
from lizbathory :
Hi, I'm the gf of an MPD. One of her alters...a 2 yr old, wanted me to ask you about the bubbles on your diary, and if you would consider sharing them with him for his (mootalk). Please let me know.
from chemteach :
good insight. thank you.
from princessa007 :
Thank you! :-)
from princessa007 :
yeah, and it was a pretty small dog too, i think. that cop was a moron. mini/small dogs can't hurt you! and he was wagging his tail! tail wagging = no attacking. idiot. the owners need to sue.
from penguinops :
Your template is very cute--Hello Kitty rules! It looks like you have a lot of fans but drop me a note if you'd like.
from ruhee :
happy new year!
from neko-carre :
THANK YOU! I will seriously look for that. I thought only antibiotics would work, but I didn't think of over-the-counter stuff. Good call. (I need all the help I can get.)
from princessa007 :
Thanks Dana! I just get so bored with my designs, I love to change them all the time. Great procrastination tool!
from greengrl :
your brother who plays in the death metal band? Rock on! Merry Christmas!
from corndog5377 :
Dana, Jim and I both have different religious beliefs too. The main thing being, I have some, and he doesn't really. Yah, it's an issue, but it's one that can definitely be overcome. You and Ed are going to be fine. :) Best wishes, and Merry Christmas! xoxo
from starbuck14 :
The Two Towers was great! Orlando Bloom as Legolas...**drools** There's something about him and those elf clothes...
from alysmommy :
Hehehe, *happy dance* I'm right there with ya!!! How are you going to go away for 5 weeks. Do you mean during the summmer?
from allissimmo84 :
hey you don't know me, but you should check out Lisa Loeb's new video on Launch...big rockin' Hello Kitty and the Hello Kitty toaster...pretty cool. don't like the song too much tho.
from widescreen :
I could try perhaps. I do have some velcro, but then there's the problem of how to attach one part of the velcro to my trousers. Also... The kids might find it funny to rip off my tail and run away with it. :-)
from pieceofme :
hi, i have been trying to join your diaryland topsites thingy but have had no response. i am not sure if i have done something wrong. can you help me please?
from harakiri :
I can't believe what they did to Pooh... that's just *wrong*
from princessa007 :
Thanks Dana! I do love horses. Once you're around them for a while they really aren't as big & scary. :-)
from kitchenlogic :
Yep. A new Hassler novel. And yep...I've read "Dear James" (but forgot to mention it!) I was at the Maul of America the other day. Walked past the Sanrio store. Hello Kitty. Thought of you!
from ophelia613 :
What a cute tree! And layout!
from rajni :
Adorable tree. :)
from harakiri :
Your Hello Kitty tree is beyond cute!
from neko-carre :
Why, THANK YOU! I'm bummed you couldn't see the Jason pics. Yeah, there's lots to load on a dial-in (believe me, I know...).
from bettyalready :
thanks so much for the incredibly nice note you left. It means a lot that there are others out there that won't hunt me down. Love your page as well. Am going back to read more.
from harakiri :
OMG! Nobody ever knows what I am talking about when I mention Harold and Maude! It's one of my absolute favorite movies! It also made me a huge Cat Stevens fan, I am a dork :)
from formenotyou :
GIRL i love me some janis!! and ani too, dang im kinda scared to keep reading :)
from harakiri :
Oh, I love "All About Eve"! It's rainy and dark here too, so I'll be under a blanket on the couch watching "Where the Heart Is" (from Netflix, of course) and studying for Finals all day. Have a peaceful weekend :)
from harakiri :
Oh my, what **Beautiful** flowers!! I am jealous :) I want flowers.
from greengrl :
Oh yeah, I needed that laugh today.
from harakiri :
I hope you're enjoying your day off! Oh, and this is by far my favorite Kitty design! There are some pretty cute polar bear pictures out there, I am just too lazy to change my design as much as I would like.
from neko-carre :
[blushing] Aw, shucks! Thanks for the hair compliment! I'm *really* doing it now that you said that. :)
from harakiri :
*hugs**hugs**hugs* Feel better soon!!
from greengrl :
Awww, feel better woman!
from princessa007 :
Wasn't Sweet Home Alabama just the BEST movie? :-)
from omorfia :
thanks dana :) jas is feeling much better .. she's home from the hospital tonight!! as for the 100 mile thing .. EXCELLENT WORK! You know, the fact that you've started it and are giving your all .. who cares about a pound? water retention, muscle building .. who knows? the fact is, you are out there! Good on you for that!
from neko-carre :
I didn't care for "she-bop" either. I once heard that when girls our age were growing up, they were either Cyndi fans or Madonna fans. I was the Madonna fan. (But Duran Duran most of all!) I really disliked Bruce, but I'm quite fond of him now. Oh yes - I was a total music snob in jr high.
from ravenheart :
Hello Kitty are cool and so are you!
from greengrl :
It just sounds so much better to say "eccentric", doesn't it? It's also nice to know other people have similar quirks. :-)
from flutterbees :
Happy Birthday to Ed.. and I am so proud of you on the 100 mile thing. You can so do it Dana!!!! Let me know if you need some extra motivation!
from starbuck14 :
Thank you for leaving me a note a while ago. It was much appreciated. I love your pictures! Very cute. I have to agree that you are so pretty.
from harakiri :
Aww! What a cute couple! And you are SO pretty!
from harakiri :
Thanks for thinking of me on my Birthday! *hugs* I hope Ed has a great Birthday! I swear, half the people I know have birthdays in September, yeesh :)
from harakiri :
LOVE the Fall Hello Kitty Layout!
from theoneforme :
where'd you get your layout? did you make it? it's sooo cute...i love hello kitty! :)
from mittag :
Your diary is by far the girliest, cutest diary I've ever seen! Great!
from goldilocksz :
*loves your diary*
from harakiri :
hehehe I just made a Sam Waterston diaryring.
from greengrl :
My friend Craig made me watch "You've Got Mail" one time because I pride myself on being a "tough girl" who doesn't cry at stuff like that... I cried like a baby, and he was triumphant. Everytime I watch it, I cry too.
from greengrl :
I knew you'd appreciate my new HK spree... All I can say is that I'm not going back to that store for awhile.
from paper-rose :
I took those tests ages ago! My color is red.... every time I retake it, my color is red. sigh! The curse of being an Aquarius, I suppose. :)
from theoneforme :
HELLO KITTY!!! she's the cutest EVER! anyway, i just joined the in-love ring and wanted to say hey.. :) i'll keep checking in!
from othelladub :
very cool. very cool indeed.
from flowermaiden :

from mandypandy83 :
For You. http://favediaries.diaryland.com/020810_79.html
from harakiri :
I hope the first day back went smoothly!
from paper-rose :
I said teachers are *supposed* to be old and wrinkly, hahaha.... don't worry, Dana, you'll get there someday. ;)
from harakiri :
Ah, Poo... your Diet Journal is locked :(
from harakiri :
Wow, your summer flew by! I never knew teachers worked so hard during the summer. This is what I have to look forward to?? :)
from greengrl :
oh man, have you seen this? http://store.yahoo.com/sanriostore/hello-kitty-wedding.html
from raven72d :
Hello Kitty is wonnderful. And so is the Floppy Panda-- Tare Panda.
from greengrl :
Oh man, I used to do that until I went back on prozac... I'd keep myself up all night wondering why I hadn't heard from my boy, knowing that he works swing shift, and sometimes has to work doubles. Hang in there, take a deep breath, and know he loves you.
from jenne1017 :
thanks for the sleeping suggestions. LOL, now I can't wake up. PM pills have helped...no lemons so no tea and the tub is icky so not until they replace it (while we are in FL!) will I do that :o) YOU ROCK!
from purkle-hair :
oof. oy! I don't read ye much, in fact, I just dropped by for the first time ever. But..I think..not having a child isn't selfish! it helps cut down on overpopulation anyway, no? spiffy layout. adios'm.
from aaronorear :
Danke mein "Guten Tag Katze" freunde. I wish I had time to read you as thoroughly as you obviously read me...(I didn't even remember the Luther joke, it was that long ago)...but I'm busier than a really busy person, so I'll have to save you for later!
from neko-carre :
"The Key to a New Life"! Doh! I love it!
from nekono :
Do you think you can officially be called a "short stack"
from chelle1979 :
I love your diary!! I too am picking up scrapbooking. I have no idea where to start though! Any ideas? Anyway, love the cute design. Hello Kitty RULES!!!
from harakiri :
Hey Dana, just wanted to say Hi! :)
from leafygreen :
hello kitty = good things!
from dullhick :
Ivanhoe? Is that the movie about the Russian farmer and his favorite tool? - I know it's an old joke but still somewhat approrpiate for your latest entry. Have a good weekend (what's left of it anyhow).
from neko-carre :
Hi! Stopped by to say hello and what a pleasant diary! I liked your "Dana is..." I posted that game on my diary a couple days ago as well. Hilarious! Also (you're an adult so I can ask you this), have you seen those Hello Kitty, ahem, "muscle massagers"? For reals!
from myninelives :
Simon... we have successfully taken over the computers of our humans. The quest for world domination has begun! Tell your friends. ~Jelly and Chase
from harakiri :
hehehe *blushes* I think your brother looks kinda cute...
from harakiri :
Drum roll please... new layout! I just locked my diary for a few minutes so I could change my layout :)
from astralounge :
Good god, woman, you went to more malls in Atlanta than I've been to in 4 years here! :) In fact, I've never been to ONE Atlanta mall in 4 years. Eeeek. (Course, it's an hour away, but still. 4 years!)
from harakiri :
Yea! Finally Summer Vacation! Hope you have lots of fun with the teach over your vacation. :)
from greengrl :
I'm telling you, those shoes rock. Nice to know I'm not the only one who's addicted to comfy shoes. I have a pair of Clarks sandals, and they rule too.
from dullhick :
Hey. You like the Chieftans? I'd suggest getting a copy of "Santiago." It isn't their typical traditional material but it's a great recording. Well worth a listen anyhow.
from harakiri :
Whoa! Your'e up late! Glad you had such a great day with the teach. :)
from danajeri :
Hi Dana. Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you like my diary. Keep in touch. ;) --the other Dana
from schoonie :
Hey, I'm glad I crack you up. Did you find me randomly, or what's the dilly?
from jenne1017 :
Happy Random G*Book Signing week hun ;o)
from sandandwater :
Thanks for the compliments on the new layout:)
from princessa007 :
Nope, no fish name yet. :-( There are just so many to choose from!
from harakiri :
Hey Dana, thanks for the notes and all the hugs :) They made me feel better. Sorry I've been such a bummer lately, not a fun read I bet. Our IE browser's all screwed up. We don't have ANY toolbars, or taskbars. You know those annoying pop-up adds that only have the minimize/maximize and close button? That's all our IE browser has. We can't figure it out. I've resorted to using MSN Explorer, and I am not too fond of it! Maybe when I hit the keyboard the computer got mad at me and now it's paying me back. Sneaky bugger.
from paper-rose :
Your diary isn't angsty at all. Sometimes it's sad, but it's never angsty! :)
from harakiri :
Cripes, I am a dork. HOW not WHO. Ugh.
from harakiri :
Oh, Oh! Star Wars Episode II came out today, let me know who it is!
from sam :
Hey...nifty new design. Re: your previous entry about "grits and eggs" breakfast: I recently tried grits for the first time. They're suprisingly tasty for a food item called "grits."
from princessa007 :
I love your new design! I was almost in a wreck too today actually (only mine was a lot less traumatic)... a cop pulled out from a stop sign downtown & almost ran into me... but I really couldn't blame him b/c it is hard to see out of those stupid downtown intersections.
from harakiri :
I like the new layout, it's purty :)
from cambio :
After searching and searching through entries for a picture of you I finally said to myself, "hey dummy why don't you click her website page?" And I'll be darn! There you were. No I'm not trying to be a stalker but I'm going to keep my eye open for you in town and if I see you I'm going to tap your shoulder and run. I'm shy like that. Heh. I missed reading your entries. I thought I had lost you forever when I tried to go to the other and it was locked. So anyway....I've lost my train of thought.
from greengrl :
Oh my... My daddy is Ricky Martin... http://www.liquid2k.com/ethan_sucks/quiz2/ricky.htm
from crankydragon :
So, what did you think of tonight's Felicity? Looks like the next few weeks are going to be EEEEnteresting. :)
from milkmaid :
HAPPYBIRTHDAYTOYOU! HAPPYBIRTHDAYTOYOU!! HAPPYBIRTHDAYDEARDANA.... HAPPYBIRTHDAYTOYOU!!!!!
from princessa007 :
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANA!!!!! :-)
from dana1212 :
Hey Dana from another Dana. :o). I've been readin your journal for a little while now and i really like it. You always hear about a students trials and troubles about school so to me its really interesting to hear things from a teachers point of view. :o) Dana })i({
from greengrl :
Happy Birthday!!
from harakiri :
Happy Birthday!
from princessa007 :
The chocolate cake was very good! :-) hehehe
from redkate96 :
I think May West needs to change her name. It made me think of Mae West, which made me think of sex, which offends my delicate sensibilities. Ha. What she doesn't realize is - HELLO-OO! - you teach high school kids, plenty of which have a more active sex life than you do, as evidenced by the pregnancies. You & the teach are being nothing but a great example of how one should live. So there! ;-)
from harakiri :
Oh! I almost forgot! I hope your Nana gets well soon!!
from harakiri :
Thanks for the notes Dana, rough times are easier to handle when people show they care. I really appreciate it. :)
from flutterbees :
Dana... Sorry that your gram is feeling under the weather. I am glad that you are there to help her thru it.. I know you are too. And as for this person Ms. West... I am glad that you are not letting her get to you.. she needs to get a life. You have nothing questionabale in your journal, and in fact, you have one of the best journals around.. Keep up the great work!
from kitchenlogic :
Poor Nana! How scary! I'm sorry to hear about your friendship gone stale. Sometimes it's just best to let them go. I'm dealing with a 15 year friendship that has gone on far too long but I can't let go of. Knowing that I should because dealing with issues head-on don't seem to work. It's so darned hard, isn't it?
from princessa007 :
Hey now, I only picked "set on fire" once! Okay, fine... maybe it was twice... lol
from princessa007 :
I love your new design! :-)
from fallencupid :
Hi there! I just got done looking through your diary and I enjoyed it. I am sure I will come back frequently to see how things are going. In fact, I even put you as one of my favorite diaries. :-) Hope you get a chance to stop by my diary and check things out. Leave a note if you would like. Hope to see you around! :-) ~Fallen
from finding-home :
Thank you so much for signing...I feel like crap right now and it helps that someone has gone through the same thing.
from starbuck14 :
Dana~ Thank you so much for the notes!!! They mean a lot to me and I can't find the words to express how grateful I am. They make my day! I love your diary and hope all is going well. It's good to see that things are well with you and teach. Take care. : )
from harakiri :
Oh My God! You totally made my day Dana! After school yesterday all I could think was "I wish someone would give me a gold star!" :)
from harakiri :
I am so happy that everything worked out between you and the teach! I hope your relationship and love continues to grow and strengthen :)
from redkate96 :
Hmm. I just signed your guestbook and can't see the entry anywhere. What's up with that?
from princessa007 :
Yeah, it was scary. Hopefully just a prank call from some dumb kid.
from paper-rose :
*big giant hugs* Give the teach a little space now -- don't push -- hopefully he'll come to his senses! That's terrible hon... I'm so sorry to hear it. But just keep going and it'll all work out for the best.
from harakiri :
"63. Do you hunt? for bargains" That just cracked me up!
from finding-home :
Thanks for the tip! :) Also, thanks for adding me as a favourite diary; I greatly appreciate it.
from harakiri :
I hope your Nana gets well soon!! I went and voted on some baby names, I am such a copy cat, but it sounded fun. It made me remember that when I was in High School I wanted to name my future son Mercutio (even though I HATE Romeo and Juliet) and my future daughter Jezebel :) It's a good thing I never got pregnant in HS!
from paper-rose :
You don't think people should name their daughters after tragic heroines?? Actually I love the name Ophelia, almost as much as I loved the character. I use it a lot for myself, even in my email address... lol.
from harakiri :
Oohh lucky girl! Look at all the fun Easter stuff! I am green with envy :P Oh yeah, I am used to everyone drooling over my younger brother. I personally don't see it... but I am his big sis :)
from omorfia :
*woooohooooo* :) - you could have come here this summer just gone .. it was barely there!
from omorfia :
you don't wanna visit us downunder??? :(
from omorfia :
not only are those tulips beautiful, the front yard also looks so lovely!! Happy Easter Dana .. lots of bunny kisses!! x0x0 :)
from harakiri :
Hi Dana! Thanks for your note, I had a wonderful trip! Trips to my family are never long enough though :( I hope you and the teach have a wonderful Easter! Can't wait to hear about all the goodies you'll get in your Easter Basket :)
from omorfia :
((((dana)))) .. I hope the cold doesn't take a hold *heh. I'm a poet* .. drink lots of juice and keep rested! Hope you're feeling better! x0x0
from me-the-star :
hey your diary is super awsome i saw a banner while i was typing away at my diary and i had to click it and i'm glad i did.....well maybe you will stop by my diary and tell me what you think okay talk to you lata!!!!!
from corndog5377 :
I joined your ring! Cuz I am just a bill, on Capitol Hill. ;)
from omorfia :

from omorfia :
I have a teaching question! .. Do primary and secondary school teachers have different rates of pay? If so .. do you have any idea about the range? :)
from omorfia :
thank you a lot!(((dana))) .. I am SO annoyed at that stupid doctor .. she has been practising for like, 20 years! *clenched fists* .. mum is going to talk to her lawyers .. I just hope jas is ok. x0x0
from luvis4evr :
Thank you so much for your note, just wanted to stop by and say hi and I will look forward to reading the rest of your past entries!
from corndog5377 :
I can't tell you how cool I think it is that you're scrapping!!! :D :D :D Isn't 'Two Peas' just the cutest site? I've never ordered anything from them, but I go there all the time. :) Your book is so cute. :) If you ever wanna talk scrap...just lemme know. ;)
from crankydragon :
Have you seen my stapler?
from omorfia :
OOOOO!!!! New Layout!!! It is gorgeous!!! :)
from taralynn :
Love the new layout! I am so happy that wonderful things are happening in your life. You my dellybean deserve all the happiness in the world. I have my body parts crossed that everythign works out with Griffin*hugz*
from harakiri :
Thank you so much for your help!
from medicated :
9th graders deserve to be yelled at :D
from omorfia :
awwwww .. when you talk about the teach and how much you love him, it gives me warm fuzzies :) x0x0
from redkate96 :
My sis is bipolar; trust me, if that's what he is then diagnosis & medication will do WONDERS. We had horrible problems with her before, then she got on medication & therapy, and it's been a world of difference. Best of luck with all of this!
from crankydragon :
Sweetie, you know I'm bipolar, so if there's anything you want to ask I'll be glad to share if it would help you any. ***hugs***
from corndog5377 :
oh Dana... I am so sorry for you and your family. When you talk about your relationship with Griffin sometimes, it reminds me of my own relationship with my little brother...and so this just tears at me. I will be holding you all close to my heart.
from angelblshn :
my prayers are with Griffin and your family at this time. Hope he finds some answers soon. jen 2/27/02
from omorfia :
((((dana)))) I'm so sorry about griffin. I think about him .. and how u must feel in all of this, quite often. I truly hope it works itself out. x0x0
from corndog5377 :
Dana! 3 Things.... I LOVE your new Kim Anderson look. Although, I know it's not really new-new, and I meant to say it before...so I'm saying it now. :D I collect Kim Anderson/Pretty as a Picture figurines and photos, so I have envy. :) Way to go on the walking! Your scrapbook pages are great so far!! Really really cute...and I like how you did the title on the Coca-Cola page...I think I'm going to steal that idea! hehe
from flutterbees :
Dana... your pages are looking great so far. I am proud of ya! Yay on the walking too.. you go girl!!! AND that man adores you... no worries!!
from omorfia :
(((((Dana))))) thank you for growling!! :) I am SOOO angry .. but mostly hurt. I just keep playing it all out in my head. I feel like I have been kicked in the stomach. :( x0x0
from crankydragon :
Yay, scrapbooking! But a cautionary note: if you're going to scan in the pages to put up here, might want to make sure everyone's real name is covered by a scrap of paper or something, or photoshopped out. :)
from omorfia :
Happy Valentines Day!!! I hope your weekend with the teach is .. lots more fun than you can write about in here! :p
from topazgirl :
Dana, thank you for your kind words and your support. ~Jess
from omorfia :
*wooohoooo* .. check out the big brain on dana!! :) well done!
from crankydragon :
Talking about how "good" they look ... I just don't get it. My brother flat out refused to be in the same room with the casket, but then compromised by hiding behind Hub and me and his pregnant wife. Poor thing. :/
from lip :
Hi Dana! Have you tried AIM express? There is nothing to download so it is really easy to use. I use it at work. Let me know how it turns out! :O)
