Haha, I definitely agree with you :) So worth it. The only shows we have here are in Southern Maine :S Grrr so I never get to see any. And most of it is theater stuff, we hardly ever get mention worthy bands. For theater, Romeo & Juliet and Man of La Mancha are coming up soon!!!! I really want to see those. I just went yesterday to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, it was, well, AMAZING! I wish I remembered my camera, I maybe could've gotten some shots. The colors were brilliant, there were all these lights and eccentric, bright costumes. Whooo! Always a good thing.

High School Musical = one of the reasons I need to get out of this country. In a town, Whitby, close to where I'm from there's an old insane asylum dated back to the early 19th century. It was closed down approximately 10 years ago and all of the old cottage like houes were boarded up. One of the most creepy places I've been, sometime I will upload the images an include them in one of my News Report. The mot interesting aspect of the place was that all of the small containment buildings were connected by underground piping tunnels so you could venture from one to the other; not to mention the also abandoned hospital still equiped with old padded cells and rickity old hospital beds with restraints. Really fucking cool.

I feel that the way music has evolved is largely catered to by the generation that feeds it. I worked the following concerts: Panic! At the Disco, Ashlee Simpson and soon Hillary Duff. It seems that through experience I have discovered most "bandssingers" that "suck" have a large adolescent female following. Shitty music that has emerged from the bowels of society seems to be directly related to the cultural ideologies of these generations and reflect the narcisisstic, self-centered values of early teens these days brought up in an ego-centric society dedicated to image and celebritism. In short, I blame the Media and our children. Frankly I feel if we were more community based we would create a lot less crappy music because music would emerge that was aimed at mass cultural growth, not mass cultural consumption.

Granted I also have to see crap like Ashlee Simpson and Hillary Duff... but Ozzfest is next week, Ben Harper will be here Sep 2, We've got Tool coming Sep 23, Family Values Tour, Poison... that's really the only ones worth mentioning ... but Slayer was here (fucking A), They did the Edgefests here (mostly crap) and unfortunately they moved "Sounds of the Underground" which had GWAR as the headliner to another venue.

I agree with what you say mostly. How I look at it is how everyone is so caught up in what's cool and what's not. And alot of the times it's fans who place a band in a certain genre. What I think is people should stop caring about weather the band is cool or not, but about the music. Oh and that whole emo thing is way over blown. Not saying what your saying is, but how this whole pop culture thing about Emo is over blown. If you listen to what has been placed in the 'emo' genre, you also have to look like one to. I listen to some 'emo' music, and I don't fit the usual mold that everyone thinks of. Also the indie thing is another thing that bothers me to. Everyone thinks that indie is cool, so they want to be indie. I mean who cares if the band your listening to is indie or not? Do you like their music? If yes, then who cares if their signed to a major label. It doesn't mean they work any less than musicians who are part of an independent label. So yeah that's all I had to say.
