I got the rug from target, yes. I also got the matching smaller rug. The sad thing is, I originally bought them when I lived in Vic Village with hardwood floors. The carpet now looks sort of cheesy in my condo with Berber carpeting underneath. Oh well.

I'm not sure if you could take it emotionally, but you might consider stopping by the vet's and petting him for a while. I have been told that it can do wonders for a pet in that situation to see its owners, and I know when my brother's dog was a puppy she was extremely ill and seemed to do better after he'd stop by and see her.

i'm so sad for you right now, and for brutus. it is the worst feeling in the world when they are hurting and you can't do anything about it, and you feel like you can't explain to them that by taking them to the vet you're just trying to help. you know? so i feel awful for you. i really hope he turns out to be OK.

I will say a little prayer for Brutus. I know from my experience with Marlowe how horrible it feels to have a kitty get sick and you don't know what is wrong. And on a side note, if you aren't happy with what the vet says, get a second opinion. It wasn't until Marlowe's third opinion that we found out what was wrong.

I wish I could read the letter,e ven. It's so awesome. I also hand wrote a nonsensical letter to my boyfriend from five years prior and stuck it in the mail. He still teases me about it and I still have no idea what I wrote. Ah well.

Well, maybe this time apart will make you realize that you really do want to be with him? But don't let the loneliness drive you back. When I broke up with my ex, I use to have to force myself to not to call him when I was sad and lonely and wondering if I'd done the wrong thing. Deep down, though, I knew I did the right thing and that I needed to move on. It's tricky, but either way you'll figure it out.

i so totally sympathize, as i am in much the same situation. last night i had to instruct the boyfriend to call a store he wanted to go to for directions, and it took him like ten minutes to process the whole suggestion. later, i also had to push him to call back some gallery who called him about his artwork (supposedly what he wants to do for the rest of his life, but he cannot be proactive at all?). anyway. the list could go on endlessly, but the bottom line is that I FEEL YOUR PAIN.

okay, my boyfriend also lays on the "you spend too much money on shoes and magazines and books and whatever else" guilt trip, when he's really just annoyed he can't afford it. it is one of my #1 pet peeves. i'm not even sure he knows he does it, but it's like i'm supposed to drop my standard of living (not that high, actually) because he can't get a real job and be an adult. not bitter at all.
