Kewl site! dig the portfolio page, one day I would like to do the same.
from gumphood :
maybe you and I could start one.
from pummela :
YAY! Congratulations on your power, and the shower, and all that good stuff. Im glad to hear youre doing better!
from randommuse :
Hey! Glad there's not much damage where you are but sucks about no power. Very grateful you're okay!
from la-blue-eyez :
I hope you're ok! Charley missed the Bay area and turned and hit Orlando from what I've heard. Let me know how y'all made it! I'm thinking about you.
from makahagirl :
Hi there :) I am new to the area and thought I'd add you to my buddy list. I'm in Altamonte Springs and moved just 4 weeks ago from Alaska. I can relate so well to what you are feeling. Our apartment is exactly the same way. We just bought some Cape Cod style furniture and I'm scared something will happen to it, though we did also purchase renters insurance, lol. I've never been in a big hurricane, though Hawaii had a few mild ones (I grew up there). I was wondering too, if any other states were safe from natural disasters. Don't think there are. Whoa, speaking of hurricane, the rain just started here. Good luck and stay safe! :)
from almost-sane :
Congrats on the new apartment- can't wait to see the pictures (I hope there will be some)!
from aliblogs :
i want the password :)
from imaphatpig :
Bravo for the new layout! And sorry about the botched weekend. -andrea
from kaykay99 :
I know exactly how you feel about the whole sleep thing. I am tired around 10-10:30pm but just cannot bring myself to go to bed. Instead, I sit on the computer or flip through TV channels and before I know it it's after 1am! I should just try to get to bed when I start to feel tired, but alas, I am incapable of that which is normal. You are not alone, I suffer with you, and all that self-induce sleep deprivation!
from falo :
How can it possibly be? I thought sure that I would wipe the Oscar floor with the likes of you. ;-)
from falo :
Hello Emily. I just wanted to stop by and wish you well in the Oscar competition. May the best man win, hahahaha, the best man!
from elliorange :
♥ Happy Birthday! I hope you enjoy your special day!
from treewillow :
Happy Birthday, I hope you have a wonderful day :)
from shygrl21 :
Thanks for the note. And, yeah, I do feel a lot better now that I'm out of hell.. uh, I mean my job ; )
from falo :
Hi Em. I had to leave a note about the double message. When it didn't take right away I clicked it again. It then took my note twice. Sorry bout that.
from elliorange :
♥ Happy Valentine's Day!
from feesticka :
Hi there, I really like your diary your recent entries about struggling to exercise and crazy coworkers seem all too familiar! I loved your entry about appreciating a weekend with nothing to do I took my degree part time while working and just finished in December. I too experienced the constant struggle with guilt about not doing homework on the weekends, and even though Im done, I still feel like I should be studying in my free time. I also liked your entry about not wanting a wedding my husband was totally the girl when it came to planning our wedding; he wanted a big one and I didnt. I cant wait to read some more.
from austinliz :
I stole your survey thingie :)
from falo :
Hi Emily. Hey, in case you haven't already decided to do so, please participate in Crystals Oscar race. Instructions can be found at la-blue-eyez.diaryland 1/28/03 entry. Ask Brandon and any friends that you might like to to participate. You, please, please, please.
from bttrflychic :
Emily, thank you so much for your note. That does make me feel better. Do you mind telling me what a couple of those websites are? I'd like to read more about this. Thanks so much!
from falo :
Hi Emily. I just wanted to stop in and wish you a very good real first week of work. That's in case I am not able to make it back in here before next Monday.
from elliorange :
♥ Lovely layout! The colors are very peaceful. Beautiful.
from kaykay99 :
Good luck at your new job! I hope you have a great first day.
from falo :
Hi Em. First things first; I am thrilled that you got the job that you wanted and congratulations again. Movie prices: they are the same here as in Orlando and even more in LA and NY City if my understanding is correct. I believe like $10.00 per in the "big" cities. And last, on the subject of state employment (DMV, etc.) and their expectations try reading bs-employee.diaryland. It is among my buddies because of it's revealing commentary on state and government employment. It is no longer being updated. It's eye-popping in it's revelatory nature regarding state employment however. Have a great first week at work! All my best, Olaf.
from kaykay99 :
Wow, and I thought New York State DMV was bad! Yes, it took Kyle and I 7 different trips to the DMV to finally get our car registered, but we never had to wait an ENTIRE day! I'm sorry you had such a terrible time.
from elliorange :
♥ Happy New Year, darling!
from kaykay99 :
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
from kaykay99 :
Congratulations on getting the job! I hope everything goes well for you and that you really enjoy it. A Happy, healthy New Year to you and Brandon!
from kaykay99 :
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
from falo :
Hello Emily. Just stopping in to wish you and Brandon a very merry Christmas. Hey, in case your notes disappeared, I got your card! thanks.
from rockstarsyd :
Thanks for the note! I've enjoyed reading your journal (I read a bunch of the archives) and I'm planning on sticking around! I hope you'll drop by and read mine too! :) I hope Florida treats you right during Christmas! :)
from kaykay99 :
Your job interview sounds as though it went quite well and could be promising. Congratulations and best of luck!
from austinliz :
Dude, I love your layout. It's quite purtyful. Also, congrats on the interview.. thats good stuff.
from falo :
Hi Emily. Congrats on the interview. I am confident that you will do very well in the interview and even better once you land the job. So, if you missed Survivor (sounds like your evening missing it was MUCH better anyways) you did miss some fireworks. I'm gonna drop you an email with my thoughts on the interview.
from kaykay99 :
OK. So you weren't sure about Popples...well, they were these stuffed teddy bear-like toys with a pouch that folded up around their legs and turned them basically into a ball with a head and arms! Keep an eye out for them because they're making a comeback, (along with all of the old toys from the 80's!). I saw a birthday card in the store LAST WEEK with a Popple on it!
from gumphood :
Man it cold here. I hope you are sitting on something comfortable. If you let me know your local, I have a couple friends in Florida who might be able to bring by a couch. Email me the details. Town...not address
from falo :
Hi Em. You are so thoughtful to get back to me so swiftly. No generalizations for this boy. I am sure that there is at least one completely thoughtful, sweet, considerate huge SUV driving woman. heh. On C0stco: I bought a dvd player there months ago, didn't have my receipt, told them it was skipping and they practically insisted that I take it back in for cash or store credit. Just got a new dvd player(at C0stco)! Amazing customer service. And since you mentioned it I have noticed their pies and I fear them. I'll have to try one when I go a family dinner where I can leave it with the family so I do not eat the whole thing myself-in like two days!
from kaykay99 :
Hey. I wanted to thank you for adding me to your buddy list. I have added you to mine as well. I also wanted you to know that I feel your pain on the whole laudromat fiasco. Kyle and I went to the laundromat yesterday with 2 weeks worth of dirty laundry!
from falo :
Emily! Hey, it (your page) is fixed. That was quick.
from falo :
Hi Em. So, to firstly put things into context, I know nothing about html or designing a page so some of what you mention is not understandable to me. That said, yep, when I open your home page it's still about 1.3x the size it had been prior to today. Also, one of the times that I tried to open it via diaryland I did get booted out(the page did not open, I got the error message). I am using IE, I'm not sure what version. Oh, and one more thing, I cannot see the words under "guestbook" and "surveys" on either side of your home page. I hope that is helpful. I cannot check out without giving you respect where respect is due: I've always thought your templates and buttons and stuff are very well done and beautiful. I particularly liked the Buddha one. best, O.
from falo :
Hi Emily. I just wanted to pop in to make sure that you got my email of a couple days ago. Please drop me a quick note if you did, or did not. I wanted to give you the heads up since I am not sure if you accept unknown emailers on your hotmail account.
from ihmx100 :
Emily,Happy Thanksgiving! I'm so sorry to hear about your onion fiasco from a few years ago! Don't every good cook is allowed a few mistakes. That's how you learn to make things better. I tried a new recipe for baked beans today, and well, let's just say it had more garlic and onion than beans! LOL Besides that, everything else turned out fine. I did all the cooking this year, except for the sweet potato casserole, so after dinner I crashed, I was so tired. I'm rambling now. Hope your day was a good one! Michelle
from falo :
Hello Emily. I'm glad to hear all is well with the missing money sitch. And, I hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving.
from shygrl21 :
Thanks for the input on the site!
from gumphood :
We actually have 5 but I am selling two. If it were possible I would drive them down to you to use. I am sad that you have none...maybe I could help you out with that.
from mkboog :
I totally understand what you mean about forgetting your age. Everyone in my class kept asking me how old I was I would say 21, then when I got home I realized I am 22 not 21. LOL But with my daughter I just always say 2 1/2 I don't even try to mess with the months anymore.
from indiegirl777 :
hey emily, thanks for the shoutout! i know what you mean about forgetting things like that. actually, on my birthday, i forgot it was my birthday. we were at chili's, and i heard somebody singing happy birthday, you know how they do at restaurants, and i was like, "oh yeah, isn't it my birthday?" that's pretty weird i guess. but yeah, i was just thinking about how old you are too. 22? i remember those days when we were playing school...you were always the best teacher!
from randommuse :
Okay, your comments page hates me, so I'm leaving a note. Chocolate...my god, I was so done in by Halloween Chocolate Laffy Taffy...I ate so many I was sick. And your review...wow, didn't catch on to the undercurrent of your diary; I'll be paying more attention from now on : )
from falo :
Hi Emily. So you can't somehow manage to get an invite to the screening of the new M@trix film with the Office Suppliers? Somehow that just seems like a wall that can be vaulted-or something.
from gumphood :
well, it was for a bit. But We have a big place, and after a while it was just like...oh god, how many corners does this horrid room have!!
from peytonsplace :
I loved your Halloween story and I think abstract art is a great idea! And a porn star! How talented! ha ha
from gumphood :
thanks for the thanks. I am really glad you liked it.
from reviewgump :
I hope you don't mind that I turned you into an Asian porn star.
from reviewgump :
alright. it's up and ready to rock
from gumphood :
Hey. Check out review gum in like 30 minutes and your review will be done. I am putting the finishing touches on it now!!
from gumphood :
Super Target...jealous. Anyway, I think that you just need to be there a bit longer. You will get warmed up a bit with the people once you aren't so new. Even new jobs usually talke a few weeks for people to start talking to you. That's it. for now ...
from grngrl75 :
Thanks for signing my notes! I've had diaries before but neglected them...I'm trying to keep this one going. I'm fairly new to html, etc but I'm trying. Thanks for reading..I really enjoy reading yours!
from dizzy-dame :
Hehe, hey, it's frazzled-imp. I've changed names, and moved to a new location due to people sticking their noses where they don't belong. I'm just trying to make the rounds and let everyone know where I've gone, and to invite you to keep reading, if'n ya wanna. I'm still working on getting settled in, so please ignore the rather sparse appearance. Take care!
from gumphood :
I agree to a degree. Spike was great on Buffy until the last season I think, when he was still good but it was too much. The show is called angel for a reason. Spike will probably be a big part of the show, like willow in Buffy, but I don't think he will take over. I'll say this though. I like the Spike/Angel back and forth more than the Spike Buffy back and forth. Lets see where it goes. I don't know about this ghost thing. I guess its to keep spike as a non-primary charecter.
from honestlyou :
Your review is up. Thanks for requesting!
from gumphood :
It is alot of money for not a lot of space but that's the way things are around here. I mean, for the most part. The tradeoff is the posh lifestyle and the high salaries. It's an interesting tradeoff, and people usually socialize more to avoid their small abode.
from everoboto :
That is awesome news about Brandon! It's wonderful when someone who cares about their job and about helping others really comes through for you. Congrats to Brandon. Cheers! \m/
from gumphood :
I am very experienced in Apartment hunting due to the high high high cost here in Boston and limited space. (Just to detail a 1 bedroom is usuall 1200-1400 a month and that's 500-600 SQ feet!!!) New York like numbers, but a little more space. Anyway, remember the two most important things after cost are space and location. Ignore everything else, cause space and location are the two things that will make you happiest. Who care's if it has laundry if you have to spend an extra 20 minutes communting? Who care about a cool window if you don't have a big closet. Cost, location, and space. Those are what every apartment's prices are based on. Good luck.
from everoboto :
Hey girl, thanks for the note of support. Have a great weekend :-)
from gumphood :
Hello. I love Angle and Buffy. Lets discuss favorite seasons....Angel I gotta go with season 4 all the...oh shit...THERE YOU ARE. TRYING TO TALK TO A NON ROBOT. BACK IN THE CAGE AND FINISH YOUR COCUNUTS.
from dinguspie :
first of all, nice new layout. second of all: I HATE little bratty kids! There's nothing worse! They have no regard for anyone but themselves! I know, they're just kids...but still. It can get frustrating. Keep on keepin' on!
from elliorange :
♥ I adore the new layout! I love asian decor. :)
from gumphood :
I am going to steal that entry about paycheck and doing lists and re write it. I am just kidding, but it would be funny wouldn' it.
from everoboto :
I dig those lists and I like what you wrote in them. I'm thinking of stealing some from you.
from gumphood :
If the other one is liked I am stealing this one too.
from hsing-mom :
I'm leaving you a note because I really enjoy your diary, and rather than just read it and never give any feedback, I thought I'd share. :) You write in such a way that I feel like I know you. Keep it up.
from austinliz :
I just wanted you to know that you rock hardcore. Thank you and have a nice day.
from dinguspie :
Ha! Such sweet irony. That sucks.
from gumphood :
I right in word flie and then copy past e to the thing. SOrry. I might have to much drinsk
from gumphood :
hi there. I love the two towers. I have miss you too!!!
from orgasmicrevu :
You're all set! http://orgasmicrevu.diaryland.com/emiline220.html
from naridu :
Hey :) Thanks for adding me to your favourites, especially as I've been so absent lately.
from heidiann :
Congrats on finishing school! I can't even imagine that day finally coming for me. Sigh. Oh, my Barbies engaged in much lesbian sex as well. Sorry, I just read your random facts list and had to share. =)
from gumphood :
HA HA. Thats not early. Thats late for bedtime. Okay that didn't make any sense. I must be tired.
from megl42 :
Welcome to the Queer Eye ring! Cheers Queers!
from gumphood :
Grad School isn't school. Its hell school, not to be confused with middle school. You will work harder than you ever had before. This is all.
from everoboto :
I'm sure your trip will go smoothly, and you'll have a great time. Just remember to always hold your head up, and be the better person. Don't let anyone bring you down.
from dinguspie :
It's a good idea not to go to grad school if you're not feeling incredibly amped to do it. I mean...it's a long haul. Random lady at work is, as you suspected, an idiot!
from gumphood :
dude. I hope you don't have this.
from xnavygrrl :
Hi, I suffer from the very same sleep disorder you do. It's a parasomnia. I've been told mine are night terrors, and a little different from nightmares or anything of that nature because it looks very real. Mine are usually happening between wakefulness and sleep. I've run from robbers, murders. I've felt somebody smack me. I've had dreams about earthquakes and tornadoes, and I'm actually getting up to run from them before I realize I'm awake. You might want to check out www.sleep.net Sleep terrors are very rare in people over the age of 13 and are usually rooted in a a traumatic experience. I'm 28 and I have them.
from dinguspie :
I will just shamefully copy gumphood's comment: "Mine don't talk back. Fuck. I need a new computer. (BTW I really loved that entry all considered. I mean it was really great and I am glad that you wrote it. Nice form.)"
from gumphood :
Mine don't talk back. Fuck. I need a new computer. (BTW I really loved that entry all considered. I mean it was really great and I am glad that you wrote it. Nice form.)
from lealoo :
You know, I think your computer and my computer have a lot in common. Maybe they should get out more.
from indiegirl777 :
about the really vivid "dreams", the exact same thing has happened to me so many times. just recently i was half-awake/half-asleep, and when i opened my eyes i swear, there was this man in a hat standing over me, and it freaked me out so much. i've also seen figures in the corners of my room as well....... it's very strange.
from gumphood :
yes. The dream/reality with the grasshopper would have really freaked me out, but frankly I would ask myself where the damn thing came from. Its my room. There is no grass here hopper.
from dinguspie :
My girlfriend has really vivid dreams, too. Once she thought that there was a yellow, furry monster reaching its claw up the side of the bed to get her. She let loose the most blood-curdling scream I've ever heard...pretty awful. but! She's not crazy, as far as I can tell, so you're not necessarily crazy, either.
from elliorange :
Gump's right. My boyfriend and I have 2 cats here, and we never told them that we have them. The pet deposit is out of this world! We just figure that when we leave this place we aren't going to get back our deposit we put down at the beginning. I wouldn't worry about it, hun.
from gumphood :
they will find out only when you leave, or if someone reports you. The deal is that they will detect the cat hair, or they will claim damage to the apartment. So when you leave, have the place clean or accept that the deposit might be lost. This is all. They can't ever come in when you aren't there. its illegal. Don't beleive TV.
from gumphood :
what scared me the most about was realizing that if I had kids they will realize someday how --lame-- I am
from dinguspie :
I think that growing up and realizing that your parents (or parent) are (is) just...a person...--like you--is one of the most excrutiating things about becoming an adult. I also think that noticing that fact is the first sign one gets that one is, in fact, an adult!
from gumphood :
I love FF9. I love Vivi. I bet your dog is way cute
from gumphood :
3 things. 1) I love Tiramasu. 2) I have never played a game of scrabble that was dull. This is because I try to sneak spell things like "Plucket" and Quizit. I'm like...I ate all the quizits, and now they are extinct. 3) Good luck on the speech.
from gumphood :
Just now I got why you said the snack thing. I am about as sharp as a deflated balloon right now. Sorry.
from gumphood :
what kinda snack do you want. or did you say snakes. I am forgeting. You talk me!!!
from gumphood :
hey, I hear that. I think that I acted like that when I was with my friends and girlfriend. I think its because we are used to acting in two diffrent ways and when they come together its usually the friends we are trying to impress. I don't know why but that sucks. And I am wicked sorry about the family. I don't know what to do there. Hopefully he will recognize these concerns in you and try to fix them.
from gumphood :
Dude. Whats up. I feel like...We haven't talked in a bit. I am stranlge..I am gonna stop now.
from gumphood :
hahahah. I love it. I had like 3 of those bags of noodles and no cheeze or shockling little cheeze. You rock cheese head.
from anniewaits18 :
bodily injury by THAT scratch?! you should see the scratch on my car (it's infintely worse) and whatever. I work in a law firm who protects insurance companies so I know this story all too well. we once had a woman who complained of cutting her finger and it turned into a back injury. argh. it makes me mad.
from anniewaits18 :
DUDE! That is one BIG ASS SPIDER! I dont' blame you. I would throw the can of bug spray at it rather than spray it to death, but that's just me.
from italktowalls :
Ooh! I still believe that someone hiding under the bed is waiting to grab my feet. Its really distressing at times. =o)
from catsmeow1224 :
hey there!! A few weeks back we talked about doing the Five Questions thing. You said you needed a bit of time. I'm not here to rush that along, take all the time you need!! I'm just letting you know that I'm writing again, just in case you saw that I had to lock for a week or so. Thanks a bunch!!
from anniewaits18 :
I just read the last note..you have a banner? I guess I should pay attention to these things. Anyway, isn't is like 4 am wherever you are? (I'm in the west coast..and I keep trying to update but dinguspie updates every 5 minutes so I keep stopping to read it) egad. long note. Point is, good marriage entry. I'm quite the opposite. I want the wedding but not the marriage. Weird huh? Commitment is scary sometimes but planning big affairs, I like to do because it gives me something to look forward to. Hey, you have the marriage and I'll have the wedding. what a deal!
from everoboto :
Hi! I clicked on your banner and now here I am. I absolutely love your artwork, and dig your writing style. I'm glad I found you. I'll definitely be back to check out your older entries. Cheers! ~Eve
from gumphood :
whats up with the name--meat puppet....~gumphood
from gumphood :
hahaha I love that entry
from lealoo :
Hey, just wanted to drop you a line... tell you that I love your layout and I'm really enjoying reading about you. I've got a cat named Lily too!
from gumphood :
hi. Thanks for the suggestion. Okay...I will try to make you laugh with the next one.
from gumphood :
Were dairyqueen an actual royal figure I would swear my loyalty.
from wllybere :
I just looked at your photo gallery. Your babies are SO sweet!! Lily is so cute, especially in that little kleenex box. Hee! I enjoyed looking at your artwork, also. That would be a really cool bookstore if it was built. I think my favorite painting was the still life sunset.
from delicaterevu :
hi! your review is up at http://delicaterevu.diaryland.com/emiline.html, nice job! I'm afraid of spiders too :S
from gumphood :
hehehe. I am going to make an entry and I hope you see it.
from wllybere :
I loved your answers. That was a great entry. It's funny, your answer to how you started on diaryland is exactly how I did - through DHAK. Started reading Jessica, Uncle Bob, and I especially loved the way Heather writes.
from gumphood :
Awesome. I loved it. You are very honest and detailed. I liked it. I wish it was last setpember where we could lose ourself in crowds everyday. Cause Emiline don't walk in time that all she can. She's dear to me, but so expensive, I'm not talking about money, but money talks...I hate to listen, but lately its been screaming in my ear.
from gumphood :
That was a wonderful entry and heartfelt to say the least. I found it very very interesting to see things from your perspective. I would love to know more about that intial period when he left, and you were alone. That fascinates me.
from wllybere :
Hey Emily, I had to lock my diary, but the username is wllybere, and the password is guest
from gumphood :
Hi there. Hehe. The younger Pete of Pete and Peter is pretty hot now. I just wanted to say that. Spongebob blows me away. So abstract. I miss futurama. I didn't know Selma Blair was on Pete and Pete?!?
from gumphood :
I keep a disposable camera in my car and document any ding or accident that occurs when something like this happens. I also photogrpah the other person. They usually don't like this and never follow up on the incident. I know these insurance companies are pains in the ass. Evil bastards.
from wllybere :
Loved your 101 things! Hey, I caught myself on fire too, in a church musical. I'm glad Murray came back!
from gumphood :
Hi there. I loved the idea of all these scared pictures of your dog in like a dress or something. Very amauzing. Also, one time the train was late, and I wishing it didn't come. I was like...this would be the perfect sick day!!. Goddamn thing came. *waves fist*
from wllybere :
Amazing Race... Best. Episode. EVER!!!
from gumphood :
you rock
from gumphood :
Hello there. I really like both your screenname and your real name. I am gumphood. But you know that. I am unsure if you have read my diary, but I have read yours, well not the whole thing but some of it. I am hoping that you keep up with it. I found your last entry to be very amuzing. I liked the conversation, and I also like that bad attempt at being hit on. Are you a librarian...I was confused at the setting. Anyway this notes getting as long as willbere's so I am just going to can it. That is all.
from wllybere :
Thanks for coming by and signing my guestmap! I love your diary. The whole thing had me cracking up, from your obsession with tv (I can't BELIEVE you just got cable!) to your links (we read so many of the same journals) to your crazy pets (I have to admit, your kitty does sound much smarter than mine, but mine probably has MANY more "issues"). Congrats on making it through your first speech. I HATE public speaking, even though it's part of my job. Oh, and it absolutely isn't true... It'll never get easier. Sorry. (But I guess you've figured that out already!) I'm glad I found a new diary to read. I've already added you to my favorites! And I'm very, very sorry about your mother. Take care! ~~Paige
