What lovely roses! And you didn't even have to stand in long lines at the store today to see them. Happy Mother's Day.
from acornotravez :
I'm glad you like my downtown project - and I like your idea, too. But I have 1 request - don't show it to me until the end of 2008...
from acornotravez :
Merry Christmas to you, too! Joy to the World....
from acornotravez :
Thanx for your encouraging words, man. Peace!
from acornotravez :
:)
from caligirl :
thank you for your kind words. i wish there was a job that paid lots of money for writing in your diary...wouldn't that be fabulous? speaking of which, why don't you write entries anymore?
from acornotravez :
And a Happy New Year to you, sir!
from acornotravez :
Merry Christmas to you too, Falo Backwards! And have a happy new year, too. Stay safe! :)
from princessreva :
Thanks for the happy wishes! I'm thankful for you and all your thoughful feedback - you help me feel sane and not so alone in this crazy internet. Your comments are always appreciated and loved - but when are you going to update your own diary? Find a second if you can, there's many a blogger out there that would love your insight!
from acornotravez :
Just saying hello, I haven't heard from you in a while...
from princessreva :
actually, it's an asian company that starts with a J and comes from a small island country that starts with an S. But yeah, it's a totally different world there. The people don't think twice about being away from family for months at a time. How can they not care?? Do we Americans seem that clingy to them? It's just we got married because we LIKE spending our time together, crazy huh?;)
from clarity25 :
That's so cool that you saw the game too. We were biting our nails near the end. It was intense and we were literally screaming in joy. The Goalie: lehman saved the day. I loved how he ran to Oliver Kahn and they hugged. I just posted a few pics from the game in my photoblog. As for us, we're doing alright. I'm pretty eager for September to roll around because the living situation isn't all that great and if I don't leave soon, I might go insane. It's nice being with my family again though. We're just taking it day by day. I hope you're doing well, Olaf and I hope you're having a great week:)
from clarity25 :
Thanks so much for your caring note. I plan on continuing to call them every day until I have to get that flight. Maybe I'll even go as far as throwing a fit at the ticket counter on Saturday! lol. I believe that persistance DOES pay off too. I might be fighting a battle I have no chance of winning but at least I'm kicking and screaming the entire way down. Everyone in the airline will know my name and story by the end of this week. :). Hope you're having a good week:)
from clarity25 :
Just a little hello from Germany:). I hope you're having a good weekend!
from clarity25 :
Thank you so much for your beautiful Anniversary wishes and kind comment. It truly made me smile. Thank you for reading, for caring and for being a friend! I hope you're having a great weekend, Olaf!:)
from acornotravez :
hoppy Easter to you, too!
from knicker :
And a happy spring to you as well! Although I'm sure you're actually experiencing spring in central California. In the middle of the Atlantic it hasn't quite started yet.
from acornotravez :
Just saying hello!
from clarity25 :
I wish the chatroom would have worked for you! It would have been fun to chat in real time! Thank you for your last note on moving and change. I really appreciated that. I hope you're having a good weekend!
from metonym :
Hey falo. Thanks for the note. I actually just watched Good Night and Good Luck a couple of nights ago - I really liked it a lot. What surprised me wasn't so much that there used to be good news but rather that Murrow was so eloquent...I liked how the movie seemed just like a setting for the elegance of his prose, really stark and stylish and focused entirely on the language. And I did watch the extra feature. It was good, I agree. Though I happen to really like George Clooney. If he's a little smug he deserves it (or maybe the generally arrogant just naturally have sympathy for one another). I'll get Syriana as soon as it's on video. I'm eager to see it.
from clarity25 :
Thank you so much for your last E-mail, that really meant a lot to me! I can't express it adequately, but I was deeply touched by what you wrote. Thank you for being a friend. I hope you're having a good week.
from sock-girlie :
I'm trying to fix my site - weird that it won't come up. I put the Oscar wrap-up up right after it ended last night, too!
from metonym :
I dunno. Think about that for a second. What is Crash telling you to think? Racism sucks? I mean, it's message is a non-message. Also, how do you differentiate between "important" and "best"? And why should the Academy always lean one way or the other? I think that trying to measure the effect of various aspects of pop culture on history is at best an uncertain science, but there's no doubt that some correlation can be made. Anyhoo, I happen to like Clooney. I was iffy about his speech; not because I disagree with the sentiment, more that I think he was expressing a slightly starry-eyed and self-congratulatory view of the Academy, which can reinforce the status quo more than allow for change within it.
from acornotravez :
Thanks for adding me as a fave!
from knicker :
Thanks for your kind words. I'm pretty sure everything is going to work out just fine here on my end.
from acornotravez :
:)
from caligirl :
clever...yes, i think that is how the story goes... :)
from caligirl :
ahhhh....the great mystery has been solved. YOU are olaf! thanks for all the comments in my guestbook. now i get to read all about you.
from acornotravez :
I thought the joke was funny, too, but he didn't. He did seem a bit like an old fart. Why knows - maybe he *knew* the guy that got killed in the elevator. (In regards to your comment a few weeks ago.)-Acorn
from clarity25 :
I love the pictures of spring, Thanks for the compliment on my Colored pics. Yes, I'm slowly moving outside of the world of black and white! Thanks for everything,Olaf:) Have a good weekend.
from claritynew :
Thanks so much for your support regarding a certain situation. It was much appreciated. I hope you're doing well:)
from clarity25 :
Thanks for all your encouraging notes over the course of this year and for being such a wonderful friend. I'm wishing you the best in this upcoming year. HAPPY NEW YEARS, Olaf:)
from slinkycurtis :
you too falo, hope 2006 is a great year for you
from clarity25 :
Hey thanks for moving into my neighborhood. You're house is very...(searching for the right word)..interesting. :) haha, I loved it.
from slinkycurtis :
Thanks for the note - just been catching up on reading your diary, love the "outdated picture of some flowers" - made me cry laughing! Anyway, make sure you get your US cousins to support our plight for the dedicated but slow worker and visit http://www.savepaulsjob.com soon!!!
from clarity25 :
not wrods
from clarity25 :
words.
from clarity25 :
I don't know why I ever bother checking your journal..it's not like you actually update. But there's ALWAYS a chance. It could happen, right? Anyhow, I just wanted to thank you for all your awesome notes lately! Your last one made me laugh. (the love expert Olaf side note in brackets had me giggling) Thanks for your insights, encouraging wrods and everything. Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate it:). Hope you're having a good day.
from sleepy-gurl :
Aw, appreciate the note! Thanks! :)
from la-blue-eyez :
It's just you. lol The comments thingy is still there. :)
from knicker :
No, the job at the marketing firm required a good deal of travel. As I'm still a student working my way through university I couldn't commit to a job that would take me away from classes for weeks at a time. It would have been sweet though. I'm still on the job hunt. Thankfully Ally and I have saved enough to get through this unemployed time.
from awittykitty :
The guy who runs my art class just won first prize in our local sidewalk chalk art show. It rained the night of the day he had worked 6 hours on his piece and everything was gone the next morning.
from knicker :
Thank you for the words of encouragement. I'm taking the plunge. Goodbye horrid job. Hello unemployed future!
from awittykitty :
You could just bypass E-Bay and buy directly from the artist. We like that. :-)
from slinkycurtis :
Finally an update! Thanks for the prod....
from clarity25 :
Thank you so much for your compliment on my painting!! I hope you're having a good weekend:)
from clarity25 :
Man, I wish I was able to see that video you posted. But it wouldn't play with my computer. Thank you so much for your last note, it made me truly smile.
from clarity25 :
I just wanted to thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart for your last note and your beautiful words.
from awittykitty :
Nice rainbow photo (even at 70 mph). Ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted to actually stand at the end of a rainbow, just to see the blazing colors up close. But blast, I guess that's not possible. Oh well.
from soverycherry :
Simply gorgeous! Tulips are my favorite. Hi, by the way!
from clarity25 :
Thanks for your encouraging note and you're beautiful E-mail. That meant so much to me, thank you from the bottom of my heart..I hope you're having a good day. P.S. I'm handing in a New Entry Request Form:)
from slinkycurtis :
Hey, congratulations on winning my diaryland prize, send me an email with your address to pauljcurtis@hotmail.com - no idea what the prize is yet but I'm sure it will be great!! Maybe my poor car...
from randommuse :
I finally have a working home computer again with which to bug you :) Sorry I missed the Oscar predictions, but I would have blown it this year.
from la-blue-eyez :
Oh come one Olaf! You can admit you've been in some beauty pageants! I won't tell. ;)
from soverycherry :
Glad to see you updating! Also glad you had such a good Christmas. Hope you have an equally good New Year!!
from completeliar :
a hippopotamus?
from sock-girlie :
Ah, it just hot me what you were talking about with the Christmas cards. I was just thinking, "But I didn't send Just--Jenn a card. I don't have her address." They must be on the Weetabix Holiday Card Exchange List! A ha!
from sock-girlie :
Did you want a boobs Christmas card? :-)
from randommuse :
Thanks for the note...always ready for the smackdown Oscar predictions. I understand needed the break from writing but glad you're still hanging around.
from groinvault :
Where did you go?
from groinvault :
You know what I like about you Sacramento fans? You guys got plenty of COWBELL!!! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out: http://www.ineedmorecowbell.com/blog/000005.html
from groinvault :
i have one hand free with which to type. unable to watch nba now . very gratified pistons up by one game. yay for larry brown. Got both hands back, now. Anyway, I did that silly "what toy are you" quiz and it said I was a rubics cube. Furthermore, it said "You may think you're popular, but you're only annoying. Seriously." OUCH!
from alphabravo :
i'm awful about picking up my apartment too, and even though i am on a strict budget, i am considering a cleaning lady as a 'need' rather than a 'want'. also, the beauty of haloscan is that i can edit comments. ;)
from emiline220 :
Hey! I had to password protect an entry today because I don't want my friend to see it. I want you to see it though. Username: emiline220 Password: guest
from groinvault :
Good luck with the cleaning lady! I had one, once... it was great! I would clean for her, then she'd clean more and it was all very clean. Yay!
from tandia :
I'll be over at knicker now. There's not much there yet. Thanks for following.
from emiline220 :
Brandon has a theory about girls who drive SUV's that basically boils down to "they are all idiots." This certainly lends some credence to that. Glad nothing bad happened to you or your car though.
from groinvault :
Hi, falo! NOW I know who "olaf" is! I had to lock up because some assholes are, like, harrassing me. Anyway, if you email me, I'll give you the password... 'kay?
from awittykitty :
who DOESN'T want to see Boston Rob get his comeuppance (I admit, I always grit my teeth everytime he wins a challenge, like oh sh*t!). Why are these reality television villians so interesting to watch? Its like we're approving their behavior by hanging on their every last word and action.
from emiline220 :
Well, if you watch their show on MTV, you see that in fact Jessica does not get it. The girl is dumb as a stick. Either that or she should get an Academy Award. And yeah, Omarosa and Rob- yuck.
from frozen-angel :
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwww! and people ask me why i dont want to give birth in the hospital.
from mybabylove :
i thought secret window was good but a bit too easy, but i like steven king and i like johnny depp and apparently since i am pregnant i have porridge for brains but i did enjoy it.
from randommuse :
My god, that DMV tip is BRILLIANT!! I'm so using it the next time I have to go there.
from la-blue-eyez :
Oh! Thanks for the tip Olaf! I've got to go down and get my FL DL. I was going to go next week and do it while I was on spring break because I figured it'd take all day... Now you've given me a great idea! I think I'll call and see what time they close tomorrow!
from randommuse :
I know Spring has sprung here in Okie-land because we had our first tornado warning a few days ago. Ahhhh, spring......
from frozen-angel :
We saw secret window, i liked it but my hubby always figures things out too quick and he tried to ruin it for me :)
from emiline220 :
Just a little tweaking of my design. Sorry for the confusion.
from randommuse :
I've really been wanting to see American Splendor and Pieces of April...didn't know P of A was out on video, will have to check that out. Unfortunately, there are some movies that just don't make it to the big screen here in Okie-land (land of the Baptists and all), so I have to wait till they come out on video and hope for the best that I can find them.
from la-blue-eyez :
You're getting really good with your movie reviews Olaf. I'm gonna have to go out and check that Pieces of April one out.
from randommuse :
Yeah, right back at ya!! Actually, I'm pretty embarassed at getting two pretty major ones wrong, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor (which are in Crystal's notes). Read quite a few of your entries and I am going to have to bow to the Entertainment King. Geez, I don't hit HALF the movies you do...I'm completely jealous here in Okie-land!
from minderella :
dude, i'm going to bill meetings as much as possible. :)
from minderella :
i think they have better things to do than go after you for posting results like that... but i didn't read the terms of use. as a general rule of thumb, if you're not making money off of doing something, and it's not plaigiarism, then you're in the clear.
from emiline220 :
IT'S A TIE!
from minderella :
i haven't even seen but a couple of the nominated pictures and have read nothing about the awards, so... it would be pure luck anyway. love actually, lost in translation and dirty pretty things were, for me, the best movies of the year. i have no interest in ever seeing master & commander or the lord of the rings. something's gotta give was just OK, nothing stunning. mystic river had fantastic performances, but overall was just "good" in my opinion. kind of a lame year if you asked me. and i STILL haven't seen monster.
from emiline220 :
Thanks so much for the e-card you sent! I really liked it.
from emiline220 :
Sorry about your car, but I'm glad it turned out okay. I really have to take my car in for an oil change, but I keep putting it off. Too bad we can't all have "hooky days" like you!
from soverycherry :
I have to take my car in for service, and I keep putting it off and putting it off, because like you, I HATE not having a car. Knowing me, my car will just eventually break, and I will be carless forEVer, just because I didn't want to be carless for a day or so. I am stupid. Maybe I should just go trade in my 11 year-old Honda for a new Infiniti? Sounds like a plan to me. :)
from la-blue-eyez :
Is there really any other way to have a margarita except frozen?! Mine were mango and they made them pretty by rimming them with red salt. :) YUMMY! Are you jealous now?
from alphabravo :
My desk is a HUGE mess and it's been irritating me all week because I can't manage to put aside five minutes to straighten up (even though I can find time to leave you a note; i have my priorities you know). hug smooch grope copafeel kiss! Happy Valentines Day!
from la-blue-eyez :
LMFAO! Ok, I wasn't going to comment, BUT... Since you called me out, I had to say something. =P Surgeons do have that "better than thou" attitude and believe it or not, it annoys most everyone else too. You'll have a fun battle with it though, surgeons also have the loudest mouths. It'll all come down to who gripes the most and loudest to win the battle of the spaces. Good luck. (See, that was painless... and I was actually in agreement with you.) Just don't get used to it. ;)
from la-blue-eyez :
I'm not a fan of LOTR either, but I have seen all of them in the theater. The storyline doesn't catch me, but all of the visuals and sounds and costumes are amazing. You can tell that they put a gajillion dollars into making the movies.
from la-blue-eyez :
Well of course it's because we're cuter! J/K! I'm not going to say we're more mature, but I do think we're probably the two that catch on a bit more quickly than some of the others and we do take it more serious. I think part of it is also because we're the 2 quietest and never start trouble. People seem to forget that when you go places, you're representing the company/facility that you work for or go to school at, and the way you act day to day in class or work reflects how they think you'll act in public. And yes, it was a very big compliment for him to ask us. Both, Melanie and I were extremely flattered that he chose us.
from la-blue-eyez :
I could SOOOO say something in reply to the gb entry you left about eating... But I'll be a good girl and hold my tongue.
from la-blue-eyez :
Good luck Olaf. May the best chica in Florida win... Err... I mean, may the best person win. :)
from emiline220 :
I already signed up yesterday, but thanks for telling me. I think this will be fun!
from la-blue-eyez :
Bring it! I understand your fear of choosing now. You know what's waiting for you already. So go ahead and take your time... And I'm ok with you bringing a posse... You'll need your back-up!
from la-blue-eyez :
I am such a tard! I just left myself this note... Ok, take 2...lol I'll only explain this for you because it is SOOOO ON! Bring it! =P just go to the link in my diary that says Oscars, click on the link that says predict the winners, then click where it says, click here to register. Then fill in your predictions. After you submit them, go to group directory and do a search for DL Predictions, then click join group. I'll be there waiting to see your answers... It's on now!
from la-blue-eyez :
I just created a group on the Oscars web site. You MUST join it! :)
from la-blue-eyez :
lol Maybe YOU should be the one that's afraid! :)
from la-blue-eyez :
lol I didn't realize that emeline had said the exact same thing! Well, at least you know we're not lying!
from la-blue-eyez :
That's awesome Olaf! And of course you'd eventually come to Florida! It's where all the "cool" people are! ;)
from emiline220 :
Woo! Come to Florida, Olaf. It's where all the cool people are! heh. I hope everything works out the way you want it to.
from la-blue-eyez :
Hola Olaf!
from awittykitty :
I have a "Big Fish" relationship with my Mom. I really liked the way the film resolved the relationship though. It didn't seemed forced. My favorite Tim Burton film will always be BATMAN.
from la-blue-eyez :
Aww! I could never be mad at you! No worries, I wasn't insulted at all. I've heard it all before and I know it's done in humor. {{hugs}} I hope you have a great weekend!
from alphabravo :
I saw Big Fish on New Year's Day. It was fantastic, and I teared up a bit at the end. I recommend it!
from la-blue-eyez :
OUCH! That one hurt! =P
from la-blue-eyez :
lol Glad you enjoyed my embarrassing blooper! I can laugh about it now, only cause I know I'll never see "the man that's going to take care of me" again. I've never been good at taking hints and rumor has it that I was a blonde in my past life...
from soverycherry :
I like the new look - if I had less links, I might use it myself! Take care.
from la-blue-eyez :
I like the new template.
from la-blue-eyez :
lol I know you missed me! I mean come on! How could anyone not? ;) lol I'm actually very glad to be back, as crazy as that sounds. And it was unreal how much I missed DL! I think I'm addicted or something. I missed not having my daily fix.
from emiline220 :
Hey, I never answered you question about the movie ticket prices. Sorry, I just realized that. I think Orlando does fall into the same catagory as big cities like New York, although, maybe they are even more expensive there, I don't know. In Orlando I think it is 8.50 a ticket and in Savannah it is only 7.50. But I also remember when it was only 7.00 in Savannah, too, so I think that price raise is pretty recent. I remember going to the movies, like, 10 years ago and tickets only being 5.00, now you have to go to a matinee for that price. Crazy stuff, I hope the ticket prices stop raising at some point. I don't want to be paying 20.00 to see a movie in 10 years, you know?
from awittykitty :
always good to hear the latest from Ahnold the Governator and all his pseudo-sexual faux pas. I grew up in California, but now live on the East Coast. And to think I'm missing out on all the excitement.
from la-blue-eyez :
Merry Christmas Olaf!
from alpharedux :
Merry Christmas! Have fun and eat lots of goodies! :)
from la-blue-eyez :
hehe Well, now you have a reminder in my notes! :)
from la-blue-eyez :
Ok... It's been changed. I like this one much better anyways!
from la-blue-eyez :
lol That was a random computer generated thing. And I'm not witty enough to come up with anything on my own.
from alphabravo :
It kind of warms my heart a bit when I'm at the mall and a child reaches up and grabs my hand when they're lost. When they realize I'm not momma, they get wide-eyes for a second and then hold on harder when they realize they're lost. I'm with Miss K; I take the child and backtrack until I find their (usually) greatful parents.
from la-blue-eyez :
Those are actually good ideas! I'll talk to Mel about them tomorrow. I'm not sure about the stomach area though... I think that's mostly all the digestive system. But we might be able to incoperate that with some of the nerves in the pelvic region. Thank you! And if you think of anything else, please feel free to share with me! I'm needing oodles of help. I'm definitely loving the log ride though!
from la-blue-eyez :
lol You can sneak all the hugs you want Olaf. :) I wouldn't mind a bit.
from la-blue-eyez :
Hey Olaf! Well, as you know... I'm half hispanic too. And well, I totally agree with you on the whole protest thing! My family that lives there in SOCAL also agrees with it. They became legal about 9 years ago, and can't stand people who refuse to do the same and yet expect the same rights as those of us who are legal. I'm not sure if it's going on nationwide, but I do know that nothing is being said about it here or in Oklahoma.
from la-blue-eyez :
It has been nipply here lately. And yes, I've had to pull out my fleece pull-over a couple of times. But nothing to bad for me yet. Though the locals around here seem to think it's "freezing" and some have been wearing their thick leather coats and goose down coats to school. I get a giggle everytime I see that! As far as being bundled up like a snow bunny... That will be me at New Years! I keep hoping it snows while I'm home! I have to see it at least once this year!!!
from emiline220 :
I can't stand those girls. They deserve to be called that because that is what they are! Eww. I'm mad because I missed Survivor tonight because of that concert. I hope I didn't miss much. I hate Jon, too. That thing about his grandmother was horrible! Also, I'm about to go write about this, but since you helped me out so much I'll tell you first...I got a call about a job interview this afternoon!! I am so nervous. Any pointers on doing a good interview?
from la-blue-eyez :
Ok, you've got my curiosity up now... I'm gonna have to check out that show with Paris in it. What nights does it come on?
from emiline220 :
Hee. Thanks Olaf. You know what Brandon said today? He was sad because he was working on Saturday and we wouldn't be able to go see the extended edition of The Two Towers, even thought we are going to see them ALL next Tuesday! He's crazy! I am relieved he is working. I'm thinking I may go shopping during the first movie. 6 hours seems a little more managable to me. I'm going to need a lot of popcorn though...
from la-blue-eyez :
lol I love your weather commentary! Reminds me of the ones we're getting here as well. Also, thanks for the link to that site. I'm going to ask one of my professors about it tomorrow as well.
from alpharedux :
yes, would share which hospital he is in? I have a friend (Delta) who works at a prominent Los Angeles hospital...
from la-blue-eyez :
Hey Olaf! I was just reading about your friend, and I was wondering if you'd email me or leave a note telling me the name of the disease your friend is in the hospital for. We're studying diseases right now and the cause and effect on people and you've got me very curious. If you'd rather not, that's ok too. Hope you have a great day!
from alphabravo :
You musn't have read the book, then. It was mildly amusing, and I might have enjoyed it more if I had seen it alone, but not much more. You should rent Secretary with James Spader and Maggie Gyllen-something. It is *so* very good; cult-classic good. There's a discussion about it at iMDb.
from frozen-angel :
I have actually gotten a concussion before from too much *ahem* bedroom gymnastics :) everyone that knows me thinks its hilarious that i havew had 2 concussions from such silly things!
from la-blue-eyez :
Thanks for pointing her entry out. I hadn't read it until then, and I'm glad I did. Although I'm not sure how we remind you of each other? Unless you're meaning all the lovey stuff. I feel it, but she can type it. lol I'm just babbling... It's nite nite time. :)
from emiline220 :
Hey, thanks for the telephone advice. I'll be trying that all day tomorrow and hopefully we will get an answer.
from emiline220 :
Okay, I wrote you a note a little while ago, but apperantly diaryland ate it. Anyway, I just found a copy of my original code, before I started messing with it, and I just copied it back in. I'm glad it is working now. I love Costco! You need to get a pie from there. hee. Brandon has always had a thing against women who drive SUV's because he thinks they are all horrible drivers. Maybe he's right?
from emiline220 :
Thanks for the heads up on the template, Olaf. I'm not really sure why it is doing that, though. It looks the same on my browser as it always did. I was fooling with measurements last night and that might be it. I think I put all the original measurements back, though. So maybe it's fixed now? I don't know. Tell me if it's still really large. Thanks!
from la-blue-eyez :
I'm so glad you had a good Thanksgiving! And what could possibly make it better than becoming a hero too?!
from alphabravo :
Happy Thanksgiving my dear Olaf! Le beaucoup d'Amour, l'Alpha.
from la-blue-eyez :
Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes! I hope you have a great one too!
from tandia :
Thank you for the Thankgiving wishes. In Canada we actually celebrate Thanksgiving earlier due to a shorter growing season. I've already had turkey day. Hope you have a good one.
from tandia :
I really enjoyed doggiediner. I think I read every last entry. Alas, she is locked now. Makes me sad really.
from tandia :
Sorry about the gender mix up. I just assume everyone who mentions dates with women is a woman. The whole lesbian thing has gone to my head. Thank you for your kind words. Was I ever locked up as a diary? I don't think I was. Odd.
from la-blue-eyez :
I'm not over my fear. My knuckles are still as white as snow as I'm driving over it. And I didn't actually notice the water splashing up on the highway until I was already off the bridge and happened to get some sprinkles on my car and thought it had started raining again. If I'd have seen it while I was on the bridge, I'd have freaked out! But I will admit, the view from the bridge is beautiful. I've just kind of taught myself to enjoy the view and not pay attention to the bridge. Now if I could just get my hands to loosen the steering wheel and my heart to stop racing when I'm on it, I'd be all good. :)

Thanks for the suggestion of reading tandia. I've been reading through them and am pretty hooked. I'm going to have to add her to my favorites! I like reading about girls in love -gives me some hope! And thanks for your kind words, this is a tough time for me and it helps to know that people are out there and I'm not going through this alone.
from la-blue-eyez :
Hey sweetie! Thanks for recommending that entry to me! I went and read it. It was a beautiful story!
from emiline220 :
Thank you so much for your nice comments and the shout-out in your diary. I hope you have a great weekend! (I really want to see Love, Actually so I look forward to hearing what you think of it.)
from alphabravo :
i love it when people give me shout outs in their diaries! makes me feel famous (or something). I, too, am a movie slut. I go all the time and rather enjoy the ritual of it all. I like to go when I have hours to kill so I can find the movie I want to see rather than "I better see Such And Such at 1 because I have a hair appointment at 3."
from wllybere :
Hey Falo, I enjoyed your movie critique entry. I never get to see movies in the theater anymore, I always catch them on a plane or in the hotel room. (Then I'll buy the ones I like.) I'm disappointed in the reviews for Mystic River. The book was fantastic, but I can see how it could possibly be difficult to relay into a movie. I wonder if having read the book will make a difference in my opinion. Ah well, I do agree with you that there is nothing good out there right now. Can't wait for RotK though!!
from la-blue-eyez :
lol You're so funny! I hope you have a great weekend too!
from frozen-angel :
Im not showing a ton but you can definately tell. I also find pregnancy beautiful, i get tickled looking at myself naked in the mirror with my belly sticking out nice and round. But then again, ask me what i think about it when im 9 months and about to burst :)
from frozen-angel :
isnt it nice when kids (especially the teens/preteens) enjoy a gift, it jsut makes you wanna march out and buy more! and that folks is why i have credit card debt (damn little kids and their cute goofy smiles!)
from emiline220 :
I wish it was that easy. They are being insane about it, though. You have to have a name badge from your store plus a paycheck stub to get into the conference. I don't even get why it so exclusive anyway. I mean the movie's coming out in a few days anyway. Crazy HP people.
from alphabravo :
i got your note at the *other* diary (I have that e-mail notification thing set up). As for my reading, I just finished Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk and started Memoirs of a Geisha (both incredible, btw). Funny you mention the Canada/smuggling thing; you know how Bob is living in Mexico right now with his son and (ahem) wife? Well, he's been smuggling all *kinds* of things for us from meds to cartons of marlboros. I say he opens a pharmacy.
from emiline220 :
Hiya! Thanks for the note. Happy Halloween to you too.
from la-blue-eyez :
I hope you have a Happy Halloween too!!!
from la-blue-eyez :
You gotta go easy on my man Ben now... ;)
from birdgyrl :
Hi Falo! Thanks for the note. Believe it or not, I like to have an audience when I write so it's nice to know somebody out there actually reads my journal! :)
from la-blue-eyez :
Hey! Were are you hiding? It's been over 2 weeks since you've updated! Or am I missing something? ;)
from crepeguru :
I noticed you have me listed as a favorite diary (thanks, by the way). Just so you know, I've moved to http://actresses.diaryland.com... not that update very often. Just an FYI.
from la-blue-eyez :
I have to agree with you on a disappointing ending. I was, like you, on the edge of my seat the entire show. When they said that Keith and Dave had to switch partners, I was even more excited. While I never liked Keith, I didn't like Dave that much more. And I couldn't stand Tara more than Charla. So I was excited to see that Keith and Charla won. I was VERY disappointed in seeing what the prizes were. I expected something great. (Don't get me wrong, money is always a great prize) but you know what I mean... I'm actually glad Charla didn't split the money with Dave. His face and answer was funky when she asked about their friendship. That's what he gets for being a big manipulater. :) And I'm glad Keith split the moolah. I just wish that there would've been more exciting prizes and forget the splitting crap. That just took away from the winning all together, to me anyways.
from la-blue-eyez :
It's killing me not to write in my diary what happened! I'm trying not to ruin it for you and waiting until it's over before I say anything... I'm going to go sit on my hands now so I can't type. Enjoy the show...
from alphabravo :
No, the book I had finished was some mindless reading that ended up being too mindless. As for the echoalia, I *totally* to it. Sometimes on purpose, but sometimes when I'm watching TV by myself it just pops out and the sound of my voice startles me. How embarassing :o
from la-blue-eyez :
Thank you for the welcome back message! I actually have to tell you that I thought about you the night my man came back on Paradise Hotel! If I could've left you a note that night you'd probably have been rolling at me! I was so excited! I just KNEW he was going to win... Only to have all of my hopes and dreams crushed again when he got kicked off again. *sigh* Oh well, my hopes are now on Amy and Scott. Poor Beau...
from alphabravo :
I finished reading RWS and I loved it. It was so sad and shocking and unbelievably hysterical all at the same time. I am looking forward to "Dry". Thanks for the recommendation :)
from alphabravo :
I didn't find "Dry" at B&N so I have to go back and ask for help. For some reason, the people at the help desk at the B&N by my apartment always cop a tude with me. Maybe it's me. I'm starting to think I have some kind of bitchy aura (sp?) around me. Anyway, I saw Equilibrium too and even posted to version 1 about what a piece of crap it was. Again, great concept but poor execution.
from birdgyrl :
thank you! i was so excited last night that my friend was like "the excitement in your voice...it's making me excited too." i'm not sure exactly what he meant by that (!) but it was inspiring.
from alphabravo :
So you're my lovely "AF". So good to put a face/diary to the name. I've been reading up on you and it seems that we have a lot in common. I thought of you the other day when I was at Border's looking for "Dry". Much Love, Alpha ;)
from wllybere :
Hey! Thanks for the note regarding Sam. Sadly, he's not come home yet. Haven't given up on him though. Yes, I finally watched the finale. Have to say... was pretty disappointed in the ending. Not completely because the Chipsters won, but in the manner that they won. I didn't think it was fair that they could just chance upon the clue without solving the "White/White" clue first. Oh well... them's the breaks I guess. What did you think? Man, it was so sad when Kelly & Jon got to the finish line. I actually teared up when she started crying. (Oh hush! I'm emotional right now.) ;-)
from wllybere :
HA! I caved and read your note (yes, I'm weak damn it) and realized that you didn't spoil me. Which you easily should have - to get me back for that other time I spoiled you. Oh well... I'm sure it was an awesome show. I'm dying to know, but I'll try to hold off.
from wllybere :
aarrgghh! I'm trying so hard not to read your note, but I'm thinking there's spoilers in there. Did you read my entry? I'm in Denver and won't see the show until Monday. Oh man, this is killin me!
from la-blue-eyez :
I'm curious to see what comes of the Desiree & Tom thing. lol He's cookey! And I'm sticking with the Scott & Holly for my favorite couple right now. They just look like they match.
from la-blue-eyez :
I did watch it last night! I thought the samething when Charla said that to Keith! I also have to say that while I've never cared much for Dave, my heart went out to him last night when Charla was being such a wienie to him! I'm hoping Kristin gets kicked off tomorrow. I'm ready for her to go. She's irritating me. Which girl do you want to go next?
from wllybere :
Hee! Looks like Crystal pulled the same spoiler blunder that I did two weeks ago. Thanks for the note... I'm assuming you've watched by now. I know it's a non-elim leg, but what were the major points? Any drama?
from la-blue-eyez :
OMG!!! lol I didn't even think about that! Sorry! I guess I think everyone should watch it at the same time as me! What are the TV time people thinking??? ;)
from la-blue-eyez :
MY MAN IS GONE!!! THEY KICKED OFF BEAU!!! What am I going to do without my Beau???
from la-blue-eyez :
I can definately agree that Keith is a good player! Now this Tom dude... I actually was routing for him originally. I wanted him instead of Dave... Maybe I was wrong? lol Strange character he is! I can't wait for tonight's show! I wonder what's going to happen to Alex & Kristen when everyone finds out they cheated? I'm thinking that the one guy I really want to win is Beau! But if I had to choose a couple, I'd have to say Scott & Holly. Which one would you choose right now if you had to?
from wllybere :
So which Amazing Race team are you rooting for? I don't dislike any of them, but I think I want Jon and Kelly to win. I was sad to see the Clowns go... the Chipsters should've lost after that dumb mistake.
from wllybere :
I'm about a third of a way through with Running With Scissors... it is so funny!
from monkeybar :
thanks! congrats on your paycheck!
from la-blue-eyez :
I'm glad to finally find another Paradise Hotel fan! I don't root so much for the underdogs, but I've been watching since the very first show. I'm rooting for Beau all the way and actually as of right now, I'm leaning towards Holly for the girls. I'm dying this week with only one show though! lol I'm pathetic!
from red-wine :
Augusten Burroughs is a trip, isn't he? I had a hard time reading "Running With Scissors" and believing it was real. "Dry" was a bit preachy, I thought, but still decent. (Yeah, I'm a book whore.)
from wllybere :
Eeek!! So sorry! I've put a spoiler warning on there.
from wllybere :
Hi there! I had to lock up my diary for a bit, but the username is wllybere and the password is guest. Take care!
from angelabaca :
I'm happy to have the honor of being your first note at dland! I was very tempted to buy that book. I haven't read any of his work, but I think that I'll go back and purchase "Dry" on your reccomendation. :)
from angelabaca :
Is "Dry" that memoir about the author's quest for becoming sober? I almost bought that last time I was in the bookstore.
