I've had that same fear about my mother -- that I'd end up all crazy like she is -- but I now know that I don't have the "crazy" gene. Well, at least not THAT one. I'm so glad you like your shrink and feel like you can work with him. It's remarkable how important it is for another to understand deadpaned shockingly sarcastic remarks.

I too have always been quite successful and confident... professionally. However, my personal life has traditionally been a near disaster. What I eventually learned was that those two areas of a person's life are not necessarily reflective of each other. Personal relationships are a whole different ballgame. And, your baggage? Not nearly as repulsive as you think and unfortuantely, not that uncommon. More importantly, your past does not define who you are; it's how you handle your past that reflect who you are. And, you're on the right track. The boyfriend thing? Figure out what the pattern is first, then work on those things within that cause you to respond to those type of people. It's not an accident that your relationships end up self-destructing. I know because I'm dealing with the same crap. You're doing a great job - keep it up, Love.

I have to say, Dear, that I am so flattered every time you mention me in your diary. Not sure how to react, but it's nice. And the gym? I hear you on that. Never been actually. Not because I don't need it, but because I have a gym phobia if you will. Don't like to exercise in a group. However, I do make sure that I walk daily and I do yoga-type stretches at home. You should be proud of yourself - I know that I'm proud of you. And, I admire you for that. Let me know how it goes.
