awww, thanks for the empathy. I thought I was the only one who freaked out in traffic jams! It's irrational, I know, because I have yet to hear of anyone trapped FOREVER on the highway in some infinite jam from hell! Still, it FEELS like forever. I just feel sorry for all the poor buggers who have to fight the traffic every day like that.
from violetwoman :
Yes, I know THOSE kinds of sales reps. Believe me, I'm the same way you are....I've even done the 'put them on hold forever' routine. However, we have our legit sales reps; the ones who sell us the actual product that we in turn sell to the consumers. We used to have some great ones; the ones who brought us chocolates and gifts and took us out for supper. Times have changed. The new, young generation tend to be less attentive and less interested in our company. Ah well!

hey grl, It's been a long time since I looked your direction - hope all's been going well. Drop me a line at bradleybutler(a)hotmail.com - I'd love to hear why you drink these days - umm, I mean - what you've been up to... Anyway - toss me a key if you are up for old friends dropping by...
from violetwoman :
You're far too nice to me! But thanks anyway--I love any compliments landing my way :) I was thinking maybe my expensive new eye-wrinkle cream really IS working, hehe.
from violetwoman :
Hey! Nice to see you're still around! I read your 'goodbye' entry but I figured you might feel the need to write SOMETHING again, some day. Thanks for the compliment; makes my day! I hope you two enjoy your boating. I can't wait to get out there but by the time we get the thing into the water, the crappy weather will be upon us. I'm not up for much winter boating as it gets too nasty here on the water. How's the 'nesting' going? Are you enjoying home ownership? I still feel discombobulated renting; I SO want my own place again. I just have to be patient; at least we own the land to build on. But it's funny--I just don't feel the urge to fix this place up, or even keep it as clean. I mean, I do keep it clean, of course, but it's not the same. Well, maybe the writing bug will strike you again. You can always write about your boating trips! take care

We'll miss ya, but I'm happy for you :)
from shewhowalks :
There is, but it's in my archives. I have no idea how to place a link on my page that leads straight to it. ( a link that stays there all the time rather than just one in an entry that is....) Sorry.
from arianstar :

I hate those fights where you just feel sick inside. As you said, you wonder how they escalate into some huge THING from an apparently small interchange. Everyone is different. You two have moved very quickly in the space of only one year. A lot of folks spend the first year or so in the cliche 'honeymoon' phase and their first big blow-out comes after that. Others have huge blow-outs from the get-go. That said, you're still really getting to know eachother, everything is still relatively new. Give it time. I used to make a big deal out of Simon's angry silences because I was threatened by them. Now, I rarely react to them, knowing he'll get over it. For his part, he now tries to communicate rather than withdraw. We still get into the odd kerfuffle over some sort of miscommunication. But yeah, good thing he didn't drive away--that would have been horrible. It was great that he chose to come back inside, to you. Relationships are such fun, yes?
from shewhowalks :
I hate election years too. I never know what's going on with who and how I really feel about what both sides have to say. It's so hard to be a young adult in today's society and be able to hang on to the beliefs that you were raised in.
from invisibledon :
have a great weekend !!!!
from trishtastic :
DEFINITELY take puppy to obedience training. Not only does it give the dog good manners, but it lets her know in no uncertain terms that you are her pack leader. And having dealt with the housebreaking issue, I can tell you that rubbing a dog's nose in the mess is not a punishment. Our trainer told us that dog's have a very short attention span so if you punish her after you've discovered the mess, she's already forgotten about it and will be confused as to why you're punishing her. She might cower, but that's only because she knows you're mad at her. Take your puppy to obedience and talk to your trainer about how to help the puppy master house training :)
from violetwoman :
Hmm, I no longer am in possession of your username and password....please send it to me asap! Pretty please?
from shewhowalks :
Congrats sweetie! That's so exciting!!
from violetwoman :
Hey! Thanks for the note. I tell you one thing, however, once you've been a homeowner for many years, it's tough to go back to renting! You'll so love owning your own place. It's HOME! I cannot WAIT to build even a little cabin we can call ours on our property. I relate to you on the puppy issue. Our puppy was not socialized at all and was terrified of cars, even. I was so shocked (not being a dog person at all). I just thought ALL dogs knew about shit like that! Poor little things. Your puppy will be fine. Just socialize the hell out of it without terrifying her. Such fun!
from captvfirefly :
Wow! The house is beautiful! :) I'm sending prayers, good vibes, and all that happy stuff your way. I'm so excited for you! :)
from violetwoman :
Exciting stuff, eh? I know the feeling. I tried to look at your pics but the program seized and froze my computer. Erg.
from violetwoman :
HEY! Don't ever feel bad about asking for the password--it IS a pain in the butt but little miss phobic (me) insists on having it! As you may have read, we're probably going to rent in civilization rather than move to the island (sigh). And, yes, it DOES have internet access, else I dunno if I'd move there! Oddly enough, there is hydro and cable and telephone but you have to drill for your own water (expensive).
from violetwoman :
A 65" TV???? I am SOOOOO jealous!
from violetwoman :
Good luck with the house-buying! Funny, I'm in the same dilemma with Simon. He makes great money but his credit-rating sucks. Can't use him--am afraid to even mention his name! It pisses me off but I knew all this when I married him, so........life goes on!
from violetwoman :
Are you sharing your password? That would be sweet if you are. I keep clicking on your diary out of habit when I see you've updated, only to be foiled again!
from trishtastic :
I hope everything is okay. I miss reading and if you care to share the password, I'd love to read again.
from shewhowalks :
Hey, if I could get in, I could read. But I can't, so, yeah, I can't. Hope everything is okay......
from shewhowalks :
Whoa! What happened sweetheart? I hope everything is okay. You're in my thoughts and prayers!! ~M.
from captvfirefly :
I'm sorry you're feeling so sad lately. I'm sure with all the changes and things you've gone through that it's starting to stress you out. And overactive hormones never help! lol Anyway, I hope things start to brighten up for you soon. And you don't sound angsty - you sound REAL. We all feel that way. Just take care of you. ((hug))

Happy Holidays -2003
from ruvoryn :
I still read! :) I'm always interested in your goings-on. I'm glad you decided to keep writing.
from violetwoman :
It's always good to look in the litter box and at your cat's butt. Nice, huh? I hope your kitty is fine---my cats all had some intestinal thing going on and they all had bloody poop for a week. It was frightening. Now they are fine, thank god.
from zencelt :
OK, OK. I'll get Pam to help me with the Guest Book thingie. Congrats on the cruise! You're going before us and we will be extremely jealous! Just for a bit though ; ) Happy Thanksgiving
from zencelt :
Hey! Congratulations! Not getting a job is sometimes a blessing. I'm glad it worked out so well in your favor nonetheless.
from invisibledon :
Happy Halloween 03
from sixweasels :
Looking forward to meeting you too! Zencelt and Batten will probably meet up with us too, so it will be a serious D-land gathering!
from violetwoman :
Hey, thanks for taking the test. I screwed the test up a little, though, so you may have had more answers right. I did the thing and only got 90%, hee hee, due to my error in setting it up. Have fun, Kim
from rdhdprincess :
You will make the right decision, when the time comes, sweetie! How exciting to have all of those options! Ok, 3 years ago, before Kevin, I did something I thought I would never do and had an affair with a married man. While I felt awful, I also felt that it was more his fault because he persuaded me, and he was the one with the committment, not me. Now, that I am married, I would want to kill some any woman that dared come near Kevin, even though he is the one with the committment. I would blame the both. But Kevin mostly. Hmm, that was no help at all, was it? Take care honey!
from violetwoman :
Hi, pleased to meet you! Why don't you phone your local employment standards branch and find out about your 'forced' Christmas vacations. It doesn't sound legal, and even if it is, it sure isn't fair!
from ruvoryn :
Where are you from? I find myself intrigued because you've mentioned not being American. Not being American is a very good thing, IMO. :)
from cdghost :
some interesting entries... thank you for the pleasure of letting me read it
from invisibledon :
Have a great holiday weekend 8/29/03
from captvfirefly :
Hmm, it seems like someone else around here has also got that "rolled in something good" vibe about her! LOL When it rains, it pours. WOW, what's this about the great relationship with a man 10 years older? You must update and let us know if his last name starts with a "B"! I'm dying to know. How weird is that? LOL Glad to hear things are going well. :) OH, and I tried signing your guestbook, but it looks like the site is flaking out.
from ruvoryn :
Happy birthday, darling! I celebrated my #26 this year, and I'll let you in on a secret - once you get past #25, the next one's a breeze. <lol> Anyway, I hope you have a fabbity fab fabulouso day! <hugs>
from shewhowalks :
Happy Birthday!!!!
from grimm0826 :
Was it a woman??? Surely my memory isn't THAT faulty? Oh well, that happens when you get old, I guess...I'm going senile already!
from captvfirefly :
Hey! I'll have to thank gutterpoet for pointing me out. Not sure if the similarities on men and dating are a good thing or not either. LOL Anyway, I like your diary and added you to my favorites. So, if you see a bunch of page views in your stats, it's probably just me catchin' up. :)
from ruvoryn :
It is very difficult to have and raise a child far from family. I struggle with it often, as my family lives in (shudder) Texas, and I'm up in Chicago. However, being so far from them enables me to be Who I Really Am, as opposed to being Who They Want Me To Be. The difference is critical. :) I do wish my son could see his grandparents more often, and play with his cousins more... and now I'm rambling. Sorry. I just wanted to say, I feel your pain. :)
from summerbreath :
You continue to make my day. Enjoy your new friend! They truely are a blessing.
from ruvoryn :
Have a spectacular Beltaine, darling. All will be well with the boy, and you are in my thoughts. <hugs> You are brave and strong, have faith in yourself.
from summerbreath :
They aren't geneticaly impared. It's just not there at all!
from nacole :
That's a very interesting theory. *yes, I'm writing in here just to be different* You know, they say everything happens for a reason, maybe you hit on something.
from nacole :
I'm the only one who has left you notes. I'm not sure if it makes me feel special, or a bit like a stalker! Just teasing. :) I'm glad you like this guy. I love the feeling of realizing that they aren't as bad as you dreaded. I have someone that I get that way over. Makes me all smilely just to think about it.....
from nacole :
Thank you for your encouraging words. I've learned over the past few months that my best friends are here. I'll continue to revel in your entries, and read daily. May your journey be long and prosporous.
from nacole :
Ooh, ooh me! I wanna be the first! I love the song 'baby baby stay' *as I call it*. I feel that way about so much in my life right now. I love your layout, and it's that which drew me in the first time! Good luck, great love!
