Welcome back - again. Nela sounds like a good addition to the family, too. Glad to hear things are going well for you. At least I hope they are!!
from brightopal :
Wow... '86 versions are definitely antique in terms of computers. The oldest computer I ever owned was a Commodore 64 - though I owned it in the late 90's. (It worked and I loved playing centipede on it!)
from brightopal :
Holy crapola, batman, he's ALLLIIIIIVVEE! I wondered what happened to you. Glad to know you're still alive and kicking :)
from brightopal :
Good for you! I'd love to be able to travel more but lately driving even from Tucson to Phoenix becomes a challenge. 'S all right. Glad to hear you and the wife enjoyed the trip to OK :)
from brightopal :
I wondered about the camera and water issue. Getting a good seal is tough at best. Any chance of pictures of the boys' creation? :)
from brightopal :
Glad you got all of the roofing done. I couldn't do it. I'm not really afraid of heights, but I think I'd acquire a degree of it when working on the roof of a two-story house! And if it's not yet hot enough for the cooler in your shop area, imho it's the right time to get the cooler set up and insure it's working right. Better to check it out now than wait until you DO need it one day and discover it's got a functional problem.
from brightopal :
Hope the weather cooperates - sort of. I know how important it is to get the house re-roofed, but we need rain, too :(
from brightopal :
Yeah it would be good form to do something for Mother's Day. And you infected Gerrit - he's started collecting all kinds of electronics and computer whatknots. Which would be fine if we had somewhere to PUT them ;)
from brightopal :
NOTHING's open past 10? I thought Wendy's was open until midnight or thereabouts, but that might only be on weekends, and maybe not even that in the city there.
from brightopal :
I'll wave at you as you drive by, lol. I'll be working 5a to 1:30p tomorrow. Sorry to hear about the wind-torn roof, though. Hopefully it won't cost you a fortune to get it fixed.
from brightopal :
Aww, sorry to hear your bunch didn't win anything. But glad to hear you made it home safely :)
from radiogurl :
Oooh, California! Enjoy - and don't mind me for being jealous :-p
from radiogurl :
MC cleaned today - the room looks sooooo much better tonight. I just haven't had time to do anything. I'll be glad when I get my regular schedule. As it stands now, my days are split up too weird to accomplish anything!
from radiogurl :
Thanks for the pointer. Not sure Value Village is still there but will definitely check it out!
from radiogurl :
Welcome back, again. Hopefully *I* will get caught up on sleep in a few days, though I'm not holding my breath, lol. As for the cleaning, good for you. Hope your wife appreciates your help!
from radiogurl :
Dang - normal life? I'm so sorry :-p Actually I am sure you're ready to get back to normal after all of the traveling. Glad to hear you made it back alive!
from radiogurl :
Welcome back to the cyber world. I was beginning to wonder if you guys were okay!
from radiogurl :
Awww, I'm so sorry to hear that. My condolences to all involved :(
from radiogurl :
I guess the roads between here and SV are pretty nasty. The lady who relieved me last night said she barely made it through, and that was around 11pm.
from radiogurl :
It's been ridiculously cold here. Whatever happened to global warming? Not in Arizona, it's not!!!
from radiogurl :
Lucky you. WE did the marathon today. Lovely thing, homeland security. I went to change to my married name on my driver's license and they won't even do it until I went to the SS office in Douglas and began THAT process. Then I have to wait two more business days before clicking my heels three times and saying, "There's no place like Texas, there's no place like Texas."
from radiogurl :
Holy moley, man. That's not a day, it's a marathon!
from radiogurl :
I wish we could just transfer files using MC's USB stick. Unfortunately it's a 128MB stick and he's transferring about ten times that much, so using the stick's kind of impractical. There are other reasons we want to set up the VPN, too, and I'm working on it now...
from radiogurl :
Happy New Year to you, too! :) BTW you're more than welcome to read my private entries. I posted a pic of my new grandson. Let me know if you want the password and it's yours.
from radiogurl :
Not bad - if you could get that for the older computers too, you'd be sitting pretty!
from radiogurl :
Glad to hear you and your family had a nice Christmas. I don't know if you saw or not, but 00 went bug-eyed at getting the computer, could not have been happier. She loves it, old or not, and has the smarts to take good care of it. She won't feed it any viruses or spyware, etc., and uses Mozilla religiously. I trained her well ;)
from radiogurl :
Thank you thank you :) It was actually nice finally getting to meet you and see your collection. MC was duly impressed and so was I. Next time, our treat, I hope.
from radiogurl :
Hmm... 400mHz? I have a kidlet who doesn't have ANY computer. If it'll get her online she'll probably be thrilled. I think MC emailed you with a phone number and I know you've got both our emails. I don't even remember how old 400mHz is, lol...
from radiogurl :
This weedeater should be a piece of cake to fix. If the guys don't do it, I will. As for the romantic anniversary, welcome to the real world. The so-called "romantic" guys I know tend to be cheats. I prefer somebody who takes the kids somewhere, thanks :)
from radiogurl :
EBay is good for some things, still. And as for Freecycle, I've seen all kinds of odds and ends listed, so if you've got something you don't need and don't need to get money for it, I say go for it *shrugs*
from radiogurl :
Glad to hear the freecycle worked - though I didn't see your lights listed :) I'm going through a bunch of stuff here today. When we move there are a handful of things we'll need, but there's a lot more we could stand to get rid of ;)
from radiogurl :
I actively avoid the paper these days, though I'll admit it's tempting to participate in that survey *G*
from radiogurl :
Can't hurt. There was someone yesterday looking for a keyboard and mouse, so the monitors are another maybe. I don't like Yahell mail, so I routed the stuff from Freecycle to my hotmail account. That way I actually *see* the stuff, lol.
from radiogurl :
Glad to hear the ankle is better. Unfortunately the USPS is notorious for delivering to the wrong address. I guess delivering through all that rain and snow and sleet and so on didn't include delivering the right package to the right address, lol.
from radiogurl :
It's always so nice to hear you say complimentary things about your wife. Gives me hope that when MC and I are married, he might still like me!
from radiogurl :
I think the ISEC is what you said. I was a last-second prop, basically, so don't have a lot of the info on it. I can ask.
from radiogurl :
I'm going to the Phoenix area tomorrow, too, but I do NOT plan on leaving at 4am, thanks. I'm glad it was warmer today. Did photography-assistant duty at the ISEC ball tonight and it was chilly enough hauling all the equipment back and forth!
from radiogurl :
Pellet stoves are a beautiful thing. I wish we had that option! This place was built c. 1890, which means it has ZERO insulation - and currently the heater doesn't work. So yeah, a pellet stove sounds heavenly...
from radiogurl :
Don't knock it. A boring life only means nothing's going wrong!
from radiogurl :
Hmm... decisions, decisions. ;) I hope you enjoy whatever you decide for Saturday. I don't know if we'll go to the parade or not. We'll see how things go in the interim.
from radiogurl :
Good for you - you're a braver man than me, venturing into yesterday's shopping madness!
from radiogurl :
I trained my kids not to commit stupidity on the world. Unfortunately they didn't always listen; but I don't *think* they ever intentionally damaged anyone else's property, either.
from radiogurl :
I'd say you can come mop the floor here, but I honestly don't mind doing it. Good luck on your ebay venture!
from radiogurl :
I figured you probably knew - but they're good freebies for the kids :) As for the pineapple upside-down cake, I love it but it doesn't love me. Last time I had pineapple I was off work for two months... allergies is putting it mildly.
from radiogurl :
Aha! Found the url. http://www.vicman.net/downloads/dir/Photo-Resize-Magic/19995.html
from radiogurl :
Two graphics programs for cropping and resizing: the Gimp (www.gimp.org) and Photo Resize. Both are Open Source, though I will have to go hunt down the site for the latter if you want that. I know for a fact that the Gimp is available for Linux and Windows, and possibly Mac. Not sure on Photo Resize.
from radiogurl :
I remember the days of mom's taxi in full swing. You have my sympathy, lol.
from radiogurl :
Sounds like your day went about a thousand times better than mine. Good luck on fixing the new-old computer!
from radiogurl :
Nice! My old comp was okay for just puttering around, but I was going to have to buy both a bigger HDD and probably soon another CD-RW. By the time you figure up the cost of those, vs. the cost of new, it wasn't worth it for me to fix it up.
from radiogurl :
I think I may have seen your boys at some point - can't remember where it was (art in the park?) where we saw a couple of kids who had a robotics display...
from dope-slave :
EASTMOST PENNINSULA IS THE SECRET
from radiogurl :
I was working today on a co-worker's Win98 computer, so I can relate. I couldn't fix the problem today but will do so tomorrow. At least it was an identifiable issue!
from radiogurl :
I wish it were that simple - but I don't have a flat surface and I'm not willing to wait when it comes to brakes. I'm taking it into Brake Mashers tomorrow morning. I know they are so overcharging it's not funny but I won't take chances with brakes, period.
from radiogurl :
If flash is set to loop the animation, I tend to agree with you - it's too distracting to be worth the trouble. But there's one of my web customers who was insistent from way back when that he wanted a flash animation on his page. Seven years later he STILL insists on it. There's one other site I'm making with a flash animation but it's very, very subtle, and is in no way meant to detract from the content.
from radiogurl :
Doesn't bother me you have flash turned off. ;) I use my DL site for testing purposes anywho. I just want to be sure stuff works and that it doesn't take forever to download on dialup.
from radiogurl :
Glad your knee's better. I have knee problems too and some days it really disables you.
from radiogurl :
The accident was definitely a nasty one. As for reformatting the recalcitrant computer, I've considered doing that with the one I'm using now - only imho it's not worth the time. It's an old computer (still using a 40G HDD, for Pete's sake - and THAT was an upgrade.) I really want to build or buy something with a bit more oomph.
from radiogurl :
Were you over in this direction, then? I dunno of WildRosie wanted to sell her truck - I know she was talking about it. She definitely seemed to think she could get $XXXXX out of it and I was thinking more $XXX. But what do I know?
from radiogurl :
Never mind the call - MC said hold off, and he's got a point. We can't promise anything at this point. It's still strictly preliminary. But I think we have your contact info if and when things change.
from radiogurl :
Please have the php kid call us - I think you have MC's number, and if and when things start jumping - hopefully soon - I suspect we'll need his help.
from radiogurl :
Hey, the lack of water isn't a problem. There are always inventive ways to enjoy the kids' absence. ;)
from radiogurl :
Ack - glad to hear your kids weren't hurt in the wreck! Sounds like it wasn't a pretty exchange :(
from radiogurl :
Aww I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your mom's doing better, and that if she does indeed need surgery that she comes through it stronger and better.
from radiogurl :
If your ZoneAlarm is out of date, definitely update it. Any software that's old is a security risk. A friend of mine said something the other day about a program I'd directed her to download a year ago - turns out she'd never done any updates and it had been hacked. Ugh. And good for you for doing laundry! I'm impressed :D
from radiogurl :
I hope if you deactivated ZA that you have another firewall activated...
from radiogurl :
Is there something going on this weekend in the city? I know about Helldorado here but haven't paid that much attention to SV for this weekend, as I'm committed to going native here - a la corset and the whole shebang, provided Rosie digs out the digs.
from radiogurl :
I didn't realize you did that site. Nice pics!!! But I hope for both your sakes that your wife is doing better soon. Colds and the other ickinesses suck :-/
from radiogurl :
I'll definitely go check out the website. As for the lack of rain, you were lucky. It rained on the art show last weekend - this next weekend's Helldorado at our part of the planet, and the following the 125th of the OK Corral. Plus the balloon fest is coming up shortly and then the holiday hoop-de-la. Somewhere in there it's bound to rain on a parade or three, lol.
from radiogurl :
Are you talking Cars in the Park? I don't remember what's going on when. We're planning to hit the gem and mineral show but if Cars in the Park is going, I imagine MC will want to make a detour there, too.
from radiogurl :
I haven't had time today to call any more potential broadband providers in SV. I have checked into five so far, I think - maybe six - but there's a long list in the phone book. I just need to go through and start calling...
from radiogurl :
Carmex! I couldn't remember the name of that stuff for anything. It sounds like overall you're pretty balanced for a guy who does conformist entries ;)
from radiogurl :
Ack - sorry to hear about the mechanical problems, but glad you made it back safely. I think MC is probably going to try calling you. He's chomping at the bit to see some of the things you said are in your museum!
from radiogurl :
You're not a wimp if you're tired after working. I think the word you're looking for is "Human" :-p
from radiogurl :
We went and checked out the library and the library bookstore. Thanks for the tip - the store here is well worth it!
from radiogurl :
You're ahead of me. I'll take on the tower but not a monitor. Of course it could also be that I'm too lazy to pursue it to that degree (no pun intended.)
from radiogurl :
Sounds like fun. We're hoping to do some traipsing about this weekend and check out the library and whatever - thanks for the tip!
from radiogurl :
Yesterday was cool but I didn't think it was cool enough for jackets. Today the sun's out though - I haven't stuck my head out of the door yet but I suspect it's warmer now than the same time yesterday!
from radiogurl :
There was a lot of rain SOMEWHERE the past couple of days. The San Pedro was up probably five feet between yesterday and today!
from radiogurl :
Thanks for the heads-up on the library - and let me know wif and hen you decide to liquidate your collection. I may have to rent a barn if we get too many more of these suckers, though!
from radiogurl :
I agree about the allergies! And this weather's been bonkers - still supposed to rain this weekend. Monsoons are persnickety this year.
from radiogurl :
Okay, okay - I'm not a military brat so don't have a clue :-p Post, then!
from radiogurl :
Lucky you. My camera from eBay looks fine and turns on, goes through the motions but doesn't actually take pictures.
from radiogurl :
Nap??? Lucky you! And yes, I'll be working in Sierra Vista, for the newspaper. Thanks for the welcome, lol.
from radiogurl :
Sounds like your ebay day was productive. I actually drove through town this weekend - was visiting wildrosie and she took us on the grand tour, lol.
from radiogurl :
Wanna trade? I've been working my butt off :(
from radiogurl :
IT'S ALIIIIIIVE!!! Welcome back to the asylum. I've been keeping your strait jacket warm for ya ;)
from radiogurl :
I don't take the whole dream reading too seriously, either, on the whole. Sometimes a dream is just the remnant of bad pizza, lol. Other times people want me to see some deep and profound meaning or tell their fortune when in reality it's just their brain playing hopskotch while they sleep. But occasionally there's something a little more significant than that. I think a lot of times dreams are your mind trying to work out some problem from your waking hours, whether it's something important or not. I believe there are some dreams which carry a bit more significance. I can't convince you and won't try; it's something you have to decide for yourself. That's not meant as a slam; I simply recognize and respect that your views differ from mine.
from radiogurl :
Nice to see your name go red with an update again. Hope all is well with you and your family!
from radiogurl :
Hey - that's in my back yard. I'd volunteer to meet you but to be perfectly honest, I've got to go to my niece's baby shower this weekend so won't be here :-s
from radiogurl :
You must be up in elevation; we're the same, beautiful days. But in the Phoenix area it's reached borderline oven status already.
from radiogurl :
Wow - I assume you're talking about Atlanta, GA. Good luck on your trip!
from radiogurl :
Windying? You taking grammar lessons from me these days, LOL? I wondered where you'd gone - nice to see you updating again :)
from radiogurl :
Congratulations to the kidling for his project :) Long time no read - nice to see you back again.
from radiogurl :
If I'm gonna pay $30 for something that plays music I think I'd rather put it toward a shelf system for home. When I'm out and about I don't bother with tunes *shrugs*
from radiogurl :
You lost me... I know nada about the gear ratios. But glad it got fixed before someone got hurt!
from radiogurl :
Cool - the kidlet made the paper! That's generally a good thing, at least in this context, lol. It sounds like he's headed for good things :)
from radiogurl :
Yeah - ain't it great how the school took out all of the useless electives like that? (Sarcasm, I promise you.) If all parents took on teaching their kids how to use tools, how to cook a meal, etc., it might not be so bad. Unfortunately since that's a practice that's nearly extinct, I forsee a lot of helpless kids in the future. :(
from radiogurl :
Glad to hear you survived the Valley. I go there periodically but nevah, nevah into Phoenix proper. ;)
from radiogurl :
Thanks for the state tax tip. I still don't have my W2's from my current employer, though I imagine they're there and I just gotta dig them out, lol. I'm the only one who is paid through the outside service so mine comes separately.
from radiogurl :
Not too shabby - but the best place for tech books is Half-Price Books, next to the Ross store, a little west of Power Road on Southern in Mesa. Well worth the trip imho; you get *new* books with CD's for $1-3 in the clearance section, in the back corner of the store.
from radiogurl :
Well I have a couple of basic accounts and while there are definitely times I have trouble posting, I haven't had that problem in a while. Fortunately, lol. As to the images, you can always host 'em off Diaryland. I know photobucket.com lets you host for free there - don't know how much their limit is for free accounts but it is only one option.
from radiogurl :
Ack - sorry to hear about the kidlet's car wreck but glad he didn't get hurt. That's the main thing.
from radiogurl :
It has been chilly lately, hasn't it? We were pretty close to 10F this morning when I left for work and while in theory it's warmed up today, it's still mighty cold when I stick my head outdoors...
from radiogurl :
Thanks - I'll check it again, but since it balks when coming up from cold status, I don't know if that's it or not. I'm tired of futzing with it, to be perfectly honest, lol.
from radiogurl :
Hey - you may not have earth-shattering news every time you update, but there's something reassuring in that, too. :)
from radiogurl :
I think Ubuntu Linux runs from a CD, too. I haven't used it but have it burned to a CD to try it if I ever get time...
from radiogurl :
Aww... I always hate to hear about divorces like that, where one person just decides they don't want to be bothered any more. That's awful. :( I hope your friend comes out of it okay and finds someone who will appreciate him.
from radiogurl :
Classic cars and classic computers. Somehow that's appropriate. I hope everything works for you!
from radiogurl :
Happy New Year - but are your kids back in school TODAY? Schools up here weren't restarting until I think Wednesday.
from radiogurl :
Wow - I wish I'd gotten a new hard drive for Christmas. Mine is okay, but I need a new one for a laptop. Long story, lol...
from radiogurl :
Merry New St. Valen-Paddy's Day! There, I think I've covered all the major holidays for a while, lol. Glad to hear your Christmas went well :)
from radiogurl :
Ever since we had an index page hacked, I prefer frames - a lot easier to rebuild - though I guess if you build on your computer and upload, keeping the original saved, it's not such a big deal.
from radiogurl :
"maybe they should have put a cholla on the card, but then santa wouldn't be smiling because he'd be stuck!" -- You say that like it's a bad thing.
from radiogurl :
I remember working on Windows 3.11. Ah, the frightening memories THAT brings back!
from kouladron :
My friend Brittany works at the Diner and when she told us it was closing, I was crushed. I celebrated my 21st birthday there! How could they possibly close? Thankfully it seems they've managed to dodge the ax for a while longer. This fills me with happy.
from radiogurl :
Sounds like one heck of a vehicle collection. Give the calves a rest so you can report back on the cars/bikes!
from radiogurl :
Wow - I can't imagine a vehicle (other than an airplane) worth a third of a million bucks. I sure as heck can't imagine it visiting rural Arizona, lol.
from radiogurl :
Good news about the diner! And thanks for the note. I was being facetious about the forwarded email, though I seriously DON'T forward the things. And no, fortunately nobody was hurt; the place was a rental and this time of year it was vacant. Still a mess to clean up I suspect.
from radiogurl :
Oooh - love the vintage wheels. Beautiful machines. *Sigh* Though I like the ones at the front of that line - the ones considerably older than the 1950's...
from radiogurl :
Gee - hopefully you're tinkering with a few cars for pay, too, lol. I meant to ask - did you ever get your garage finished?
from radiogurl :
I just read that meme on another person's diary. Very different answers, I might add, lol.
from radiogurl :
LOL! All right, let me withdraw the avowed agnostic reference. I'm crying "uncle," already. No more comments on metaphysical/religious/non-religious/paranormal/whatever posts ;)
from radiogurl :
I'm not surprised your subject matter left you drowsy. You're right, very heavy reading - and kind of surprising reading for an avowed agnostic.
from radiogurl :
Waste time online? Is such a thing possible?? NEVAH!!!
from radiogurl :
I had been online in the 90's but only in the most peripheral way. I didn't know about the capabilities of surfing, etc., until much later. When I worked for AT&T we had Netscape (ancient history, don't think that's any great surprise to anyone) but it was so closely monitored that you really couldn't go anywhere that wasn't company.
from radiogurl :
Welllll...d... (Sorry, couldn't resist.) Sounds like at least you accomplished a few things, which is better than I've done lately!
from breakangel :
Yes. You should feel very guilty.
from radiogurl :
LOL! The book sounds... um... interesting? Though it seems like every book these days includes gratuitous sex scenes and ignores less prurient interests like taut writing and a strong plot. Too bad.
from radiogurl :
Too bad about Little Gary's loss. Sounds like the car show was interesting, though - and Rocky Horror Picture Show... I was just talking about that a few days back. Seriously weird stuff, lol.
from radiogurl :
You did better than I did - I had a "barely-there" day where I spent the day in bed to try and eliminate a cold that's threatening to do me in this week...
from radiogurl :
I'm lost on the automotive-speak. When it comes to cars, while I like looking at the older vehicles, I don't know much about the mechanical end of things :(
from breakangel :
I wish I had a hot old lady. Mmph.
from marinka-mp :
You see when it comes to men I attract 2 kinds assholes or losers who depend on me. as far as the car is concerned if i can afford it why not.
from radiogurl :
Argh... I'm trying to phrase your disbelief in a nonjudgmental way and obviously failing. Maybe I'll just stop commenting. Hopefully no more wrecks for you, though.
from radiogurl :
Interesting observations. Your take differs from mine on several points but I don't disagree with the value of science, either. My faith tends to require a degree of proof, too. There are some things I personally have experienced - so you can call it faith or science or whatever. I call it personal experience - nothing more, nothing less, lol. As to the UFO's, it was a pretty big hallucination or wishful thinking that scared people in Phoenix out of their wits. I don't believe the official military version - but I also don't really subscribe to the "aliens are among us" theory unless the aliens move through time and space in a manner that's wholly... well... alien to us. The laws of physics are unbreakable, obviously. But we're always finding new wrinkles in the laws - so I'm not going to rule out anything just yet. Your belief in God or non-belief is your own choice and I respect that. I just disagree with you. Long as you respect my right to disagree, I enjoy the back-and-forth. ;)
from radiogurl :
I know what you mean about being underwhelmed by excitement lately. My big thrill of the week was getting three little pieces of green glass in the mail. Go figure LOL.
from radiogurl :
Darn - no it ISN'T the 30th. But we're getting there. ;)
from radiogurl :
Nice pictures. And if your wife doesn't notice a haircut if you don't get it cut more often than that, it's time she gets new glasses!!
from radiogurl :
*Snort* I'd win procrastinator of the year award but I forgot to enter until it was too late, lol.
from breakangel :
Tell me about it. I procrastinated for two weeks before I finally went in and applied for a job that I was already unofficially hired for. I'm a loser. (I finally did it yesterday and started today.) But I'm glad to know I'm not alone in the boat of putting things off until they absolutely cannot be avoided any longer.
from radiogurl :
Yeah - scary to think it's the middle of the month already. Next thing you know it'll be the holidays again!
from radiogurl :
Ack... I can relate to the crash. It happened to me about a year ago. And by the way, I read your email while I was half-asleep. I really gotta try limiting my reading - and my replies - to times when I am at least semi-coherent. If my answer wasn't remotely logical, please chalk it up to sleep deprivation.
from radiogurl :
So you would prefer a communist state, where religion is virtually outlawed? That's where we're headed now and I hate seeing yet more personal rights eroded to nothing. This is not a good thing for our nation imho. I respect your preference (a general "you" to agnostics and athiests, not you personally) not to believe in God, but I would ask you to respect the reverse of that. I don't even know what I believe in terms of a deity, but I find the erosion of religious rights appalling...
from radiogurl :
I'm bleary-eyed right now but I think you just said you had a good day and you got to relax while working on that tractor-whatchamacallit. Good for you, if so. Me next, lol.
from radiogurl :
Hey glad one of us had a good weekend, lol.
from radiogurl :
It sounds like while the circumstances weren't ideal, you were able to make some important familial connections. Hopefully the ties won't unravel with time now.
from radiogurl :
Darn - you're in California? I'm jealous, lol. Hope you have a good, safe trip and continue to enjoy yourself!
from radiogurl :
Wow - spreading the troops a bit thin, are we? Hope you have a nice weekend, no matter where you ultimately spend it, lol.
from radiogurl :
AH - A unicycle without the "cycle!" Gotcha, lol. And doggy is gone, taken to uncle's house. I didn't care HOW late it was!!!
from radiogurl :
Glad you got the mechanical things handled. Interesting you know where a US switch can be found for an old vehicle - but not where your aunt was from! I am not chiding you, either; I'm the same way. I have distant family about whom I know very little.
from radiogurl :
Sorry to hear about your aunt. Was she from here in AZ or from the hurricane-stricken area?
from coldandgray :
I like your template. I clicked your banner thinking it was a special hurricane banner. I guess it is, but not...
from radiogurl :
I am glad to hear that the majority of your wife's work-mates in Slidell survived. But what happens next is anyone's guess...
from radiogurl :
Hehehe - I have those questions saved and will post the responses eventually if I can think of it again. Been kind of a roller-coaster around here this week, so might be a while...
from radiogurl :
Ugh. Allergies suck. Makes it awfully hard to do anything worthwhile...
from radiogurl :
Aww I'm sorry to hear that the kidling isn't feeling well. I thought where you lived it was warmer than here, though, comparable to Phoenix. Are you closer in climate to where I am???
from radiogurl :
What brought on the Bible/church reference? Just curious. However, when you're done straightening up there I might hire you here. I haven't had the ambition to do a blessed thing to the house in days, except dishes tonight.
from radiogurl :
Nice - it sounds like you're making progress. Just one question: once you get it fixed, what are you going to DO with it???
from radiogurl :
Nothing wrong with your having a less complicated life than some of the rest of us. It's a relief to read it, in fact; it gives me hope that someday a little peace is achievable.
from radiogurl :
Good for you about the roses - and so YOU were the origin of that tornado warning folks were yacking about here. I wondered - 'cause I sure as heck didn't see anything of the sort in this area!
from radiogurl :
I like that angle - never would drive a bulldozer but you do get a little sense of what it would be like. Sort of ;)
from fatqueen :
Thank you for the Birthday Wishes! Congrats on the bulldozer. Little Gary looks like a 'natural'! My dad let me drive one when I was 10!!
from radiogurl :
Wow... you're moving up in the motoring world. I feel a Tim the Toolman Taylor moment coming on... MORE POWER!!
from radiogurl :
I didn't hear - did Phoenix float down the river with today's storm? Because I think Payson did!!!
from breakangel :
Ungh. Life is unfair. And the worst thing is, you're actually further out in the middle of nowhere than I am, AND YOUR CIS INTERNET IS WORKING! I must just have exceedingly lousy luck. Well, I'm coming over to your house to do my english reports this year.
from breakangel :
Ah, I remember that kind of internet. It was super-fast...I loved it. Except that I went through CIS, and twenty-eight days of the month the damn internet wouldn't work. (I hope that's not who you're using, but if it is and it WORKS, let me know because I want it back, lol.) I use DirecWay through DirecTV now, which is slower but more reliable. And I'm sure you wanted to know all that...let me wander back to my city of Nerd-dom now.
from radiogurl :
Oh man - you were on DIAL - UP... I forgot. Welcome to the land of the 21st century! :D
from breakangel :
Just for the record, you have a solid place on the "men that Fallon does not hate" list.
from radiogurl :
Hehehe - you gotta wonder if the "Little River Band" got the idea from Arizona in monsoon season ;)
from radiogurl :
It's been POURING here the past few days. Glad to hear you had (relatively speaking) an easier time with the softened ground, though. And glad to hear the wife is safe and sound - it's never reassuring when smoke come into the plane when you're IN the plane!
from radiogurl :
Hehehe - I polished off Rowling's latest in short order. It's now sitting on a countertop waiting to be mailed to a friend.
from radiogurl :
Hey, sometimes you need a non-exciting day, lol. What book are you reading?
from radiogurl :
Hehehe - well yeah. I know, predictions are like opinions; everybody has one and sometimes they can accidentally be right. But sometimes there are predictions that are a little TOO right to arbitrarily dismiss. I guess it is just the law of averages, eh? Somebody somewhere is bound to get it right.
from radiogurl :
I just got the latest HP book in the mail today. I'm looking forward to reading it, but considering how slow I've been at finishing the LAST book I've been reading, not sure when I'll get it done, lol.
from radiogurl :
I have been bidding on eBay for the sixth book - haven't won yet but that's all right :) I'm still workin' on it.
from radiogurl :
Hey there ya go - I wouldn't have thought about salvaging the chassis for a trailer, but obviously it works :)
from radiogurl :
More power to you. We barely got a cloud here. :(
from radiogurl :
Well we're both tempting fate - I washed my truck yesterday, too, lol. So if it's gonna rain, it should be soon! ;)
from radiogurl :
Sounds like a fun trip. And I'm awake, though I can't say *wide* awake. However, I'm about to change the whole "awake" thing in about five minutes, lol.
from radiogurl :
The garage looks GREAT! And cool idea to keep the old kitchen cabinets for storage inside - recycling is always good but not everyone would think to do that, lol. Hope you have a great 4th of July!
from radiogurl :
Now you sound like me. I try to keep up with community-wide stuff going on but if something's happening next door I am probably clueless, lol.
from radiogurl :
Well now, that all depends. Your garage picture has orbs on it, you see, and there are people who swear those are ghosts or spirits or something of the sort. (I don't think so. I think you got paint splattered on the lens, but that's another story.) Anywho, you can point out that your new garage is possibly haunted, right? ;)
from radiogurl :
LOL! Yes, you said that and it was the kind of thing every wife wants to hear, whether or not she'll admit it. ;) Sorry to hear about the smashed garage doors, though - hopefully you don't get a lot of grief while requiring them to get it right.
from radiogurl :
I didn't realize gameboys had upped their capabilities to include chat and such. Very cool :)
from radiogurl :
Garage is looking good - but looks like your next project should be an office organizer, lol. Looks almost as bad as mine's been known to look ;)
from radiogurl :
Hehehe - the old fashioned milk cartons are treasures, purloined or not. And you have every right to be proud of your work - the garage-to-be is looking good!
from nicim :
we have a lot in common - our profiles are similar, and so is our buddy list. and the same reads. gonna read some more of you. come visit if you get a chance.
from almostnormal :
Thanks so much for the anti-search code!
from sallydallydo :
Mudding for Father's Day. You celebrate like my Hubby does. You also must have the same view of Haulmark...they just wanna haul in your dollars. ;)
from radiogurl :
Thanks for the tip about the search engine. I should've done that a while back, myself. Hope your back feels better soon!
from radiogurl :
Happy Father's Day - albeit late. Bravo for tuna casserole - I thought I was the only one who actually likes it! ;)
from radiogurl :
Man... I got tired just reading about all the things you did this time around, lol... At least the tunes sound good. :)
from radiogurl :
Wow - you're kicking butt, moving right along with that garage! Can I hire you to build me a house for cheap, LOL?
from hotrodgal :
Hey nice truck! Would love to see more pics of it! We just bought a '59 GMC a couple of weeks ago so that is becoming the newest project here (will be the boyfriend's daily driver).
from radiogurl :
Hey - if you can do it, I say go for it. I'd think you'd have more than a little dust problem that way, but I guess you can always blow it out on a regular basis and be fine :)
from radiogurl :
Drag racing? Hopefully not on the highway, lol.
from radiogurl :
Once you go broadband you will never go back. Dial up sucketh to high heaven!!!
from radiogurl :
The garage is coming right along - hopefully the same will also be true shortly for the computer!
from radiogurl :
Geesh - now you sound like me, lol. I'll putz around on the computer even when I should be doing something else.
from radiogurl :
Wow - the garage is coming right along! And if Steving gets a job, good for him. (Not to mention, good for you!) My oldest son's not the best in that department, whereas my youngest is hell bent on becoming a workaholic. Every kid's different, which makes the manual on them a tough read. ;)
from radiogurl :
Pffft! That looks like one of my boys up there, lol. They would absolutely do that.
from radiogurl :
Love the trucks! :D Nice picture. I dunno how cool/hot it is there as compared to here but it was upper-80's here today. Not awful, but warm enough my AC kicked on at home.
from radiogurl :
LOL! Good answers. That durned thing was so long I didn't know if anyone would attempt it. I can't even remember where I found the list. Now I wish I'd taken your cue and cut out about half of the nonsensical stuff!
from radiogurl :
We're actually getting a little rain today, too. It's been gorgeous. I'll take the rain if it cools things off and helps stem the wildfires!
from radiogurl :
Man - you really got a lot done! Hard to believe that it's only been a day or two between this image and the previous one. Good work!
from radiogurl :
Wow - rain AND a paved street? You can't have *all* the good stuff, lol. Save some for me ;)
from radiogurl :
We didn't get rain here at all, darn it :-/ And as to telling people how to embed their sound files, I also told 'em not to do it lightly. Most sound files are just horrible in size. I kept mine at 87K and even that was pushing the limits.
from radiogurl :
Hey, progress. It's early for summer rains, but God knows we could use them. We're staring one very nasty fire season straight down the gullet until it DOES rain...
from radiogurl :
Hey *I* for one would be interested in seeing the 2x4's going up. It'll document the building process, anywho ;)
from radiogurl :
You're better than me - I went pumpkin last night, was dead to the world and got some much-needed sleep!
from radiogurl :
Ah - see, that's what I get for missing two weeks! Glad to hear that the construction is moving along - but can't fathom spending $1800 in one trip anywhere. I guess my mind is still functioning on rural Arizona money. You know, the Monopoly money used to pay our allowances-in-lieu-of-paychecks.
from breakangel :
I'm glad you liked the layout revamp! I think the color adjustments on my monitor are different from most people's, so it's hard for me to tell how effective the aesthetics are. Thanks for letting me know. I made the background a little darker and the text a little lighter, let me know if it works for you. =) I hope you had fun at the waterpark.
from radiogurl :
I'm playing catch up but sounds like things are gradually coming along. I bet you can hardly wait until the foundation is poured and construction is THROUGH!
from radiogurl :
I'm so far behind it's not funny, lol. The suburban looks like a heck of a lot of work, too! And as to the studio library - that's just what's on the air, not what the studio owns. The old station where I worked in Globe had a TOTAL library of close to 20,000 songs, including some extremely rare LP's and 45's (even a few 78's.) But the on-air rotation there was limited to what was top 10 in history. And you *might* be able to pick up this station after a bit - my new boss is checking into a translator on Mt. Ord, which would get us a signal pretty far out. Not sure of the frequency, though. The station call letters are KRIM - we're 96.3 locally, but already have translators that put us at 98.9 and 99.7, depending on where you are in the state.
from radiogurl :
Looks great!!!
from radiogurl :
Well if I could find it I'd RATHER have a Honda. I hate Fords in general. But beggars can't be choosers and I'm broke :(
from radiogurl :
Glad you had a good time at the show - you think the cool weather contributed to the low attendance?
from gwtw :
ummm....as I mentioned, I have javascript disabled almost all the time when I surf. When js is disabled, the diaryland stats tracker does not get "hit". So, you won't see that I've read your diary, even when I have.
from breakangel :
Now that I know your IP address I can officially state that you almost NEVER visit my diary. And I visit yours almost every night. Shame on you!
from idiot-milk :
Oh, I have heard all manner of Tricky Dick jokes. My Nixon collection is not universally respected, I'm sorry to report. I mean, sure, he was a crooked guy, but how can you not still love him when his campaign used phrases like "You can't lick our Dick?" Hmmm? Philistines.
from radiogurl :
Dang... I don't suppose you've got an unmarried brother, do ya? I might reconsider my stalwart avoidance of the male species if I could find someone with your level of respect and devotion.
from radiogurl :
Well keep the cooler at ready. It's supposed to be warm through Saturday, then Sunday and Monday drop about 20 degrees!
from radiogurl :
Ugh - I know how your wife feels. I deal with the government every single day!
from radiogurl :
Hehehe - well I'm still planning to get down there the weekend of the 29th, barring catastrophe, and check it out. I most definitely need a vehicle and I'm thinking big as those things are, a sleeping bag in the back seat would be plenty of room for me *grins*
from radiogurl :
I heard THAT. The taxes thing, I mean. I hate mine, have to do them asap. Ugh.
from radiogurl :
Bwahahaha! Home movies! The ultimate threat to get teenagers to behave! "Cut it out or I'll show your girlfriend the movie where you were picking your butt and your nose at the same time!" OMG the memories... ;)
from radiogurl :
Ugh! You HAD to go and remind me about taxes, didn't you??? *Looks at calendar and grumbles*
from patw-21 :
thats hot, and I love it
from radiogurl :
LOL about the wife! I don't always follow everything you say because I am not now and never will be a mechanic. But that's okay because I'm sure lots of people don't follow what I say about computers, either. ;) And it's kind of a nice break to read crisp black text on a white background after some of the wilder colors here and there on DL!
from radiogurl :
Sounds like you're still ahead of Diaryland the past couple of weeks. Hopefully Andrew gets stuff fixed. I'm tired of my diary being locked :(
from radiogurl :
It's hard to picture that car as orange - I keep thinking "General Lee," lol. But I will be looking forward to seeing it finished and buffed out. Bet it'll look great! BTW before I forget (again) the access info for my diary is user name "private" and password "eyes." My partner in crime found the page and also I posted a link to a news story with my real byline. I don't mind my regular readers knowing who I am but I don't need my listening audience there, just in case.
from radiogurl :
It's just been way too cold and windy. What the heck is with that, anyway? This is Arizona. Normally this time of year it's hot, or at least getting that way, even in the higher elevations. Oh well, maybe we'll luck out and have a mild summer. Or maybe I'll finally get my butt outta here before summertime!
from breakangel :
OUCH! Okay, that nail-through-the-hand pic just gave me the heebie-jeebies.
from radiogurl :
Hehehe - those actually look normal to *me.* Not my style, granted - but considering what I've seen in Phoenix...
from radiogurl :
Never mind me. It's sleep deprivation, leaves me completely devoid of rational thought. That's my story, anyway *g*
from radiogurl :
I think I'm lost. Where did you go, that you're coming back from? Aside from Diaryland's escapades, I mean.
from radiogurl :
*Mumbles* Men... You take photos of injuries like they're a badge of courage or something. My son did the same thing when he dislocated his thumb. Yeesh.
from radiogurl :
Hey, you're back! Nice seeing this place back online :D
from radiogurl :
Wow - you raided my family album!
from radiogurl :
Interesting picture. I never could get the hang of a bow and arrow, though I am pretty good with a .22~
from hotrodgal :
I don't think I would worry about a steering wheel keeping you out of Viva, I have seen some *very* non-"traditional" stuff there and really the only rule I have ever seen posted was the pre-63 thing. I'm not going this year unfortunately - the Lone Star RoundUp is the following weekend and we're trying to go to Bonneville this year too, so no Vegas right now... Come back with lots of pics though, I hate missing the car show! Actually, please post a pic of your car too! I don't remember if I've seen one or not! (oh, and yeah, still reading, just have not been posting because it has been a little nuts around here!)
from radiogurl :
I'd offer to trade places but unfortunately I'm not a mechanic - and I wouldn't stick anyone with a job at this radio station!
from radiogurl :
*Whistles appreciatively* Wow... now THAT'S a clean engine!
from radiogurl :
Wow - it's been a long time since I've seen an engine that clean. Unfortunately that's also about the extent of my mechanical know-how, lol.
from dangerspouse :
Thanks for the note! I'm glad you liked my silly little story :) Btw, Otis is gone. As soon as I read "...afraid of our white doggy...who loves having a new friend to chase", I knew it was all over.
from dangerspouse :
Hey, I just went back and read a few of your older entries. C's '31 Chevy looks great with the red firewall (and yellow block). Hope you post more pics of that thing as it progresses. (BTW, did you ever sell those deer heads??)
from dangerspouse :
I think I've seen those "pie cut" wheels once or twice at car shows here. Good luck with it all - sounds like a sweet ride! Wish I wasn't buried under 150 feet of snow, or I'd be working on my own baby. Ciao!
from radiogurl :
Here here for the gorgeous weather! Unfortunately it's not supposed to stick around, at least not in central AZ. And glad you got the work done on the vehicle. Maybe I should talk boss into letting me take the monster to you to fix...
from radiogurl :
Hey, to each their own. I agree with your tenet that there's so much about our brains and bodies that we don't know - I am one of those people who believes that metaphysical phenomenon have physiological origins ;)
from radiogurl :
Ya know, all this talk about cars is driving me nuts. Or rather, not driving me at all. I wanna get one of your cast-offs!!!
from radiogurl :
It seemed warmer to me today. We got a few sprinkles here, too, but nothing serious.
from radiogurl :
Man... what a waste of those beautiful steel beasts. The rust destroyed them but what they once were...
from radiogurl :
Darn... Long weekends... I forgot about those. :-/ Oh well, maybe someday I'll have occasional days off again.
from radiogurl :
Hey if you're handing out dishwashers, send one my way. Mine's been dead for months and my landlord still hasn't fixed it.
from radiogurl :
Cute kids! Good photo, too - you can see that they're basically good kids with a healthy dose of mischief that comes with all normal children. You must be a good parent.
from radiogurl :
It's amazing the things you discover after a friend is gone - little things, often, but they can mean so much to family.
from radiogurl :
Here's hoping that your wife's optimism on the horse trailer sale pans out. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
from radiogurl :
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Do they know what was wrong? Did he have pneumonia or an aneyurism? Your entry is pretty vague, which is understandable, but still...
from arc-angel666 :
Hello gwtw: Thanks for adding me to your fav's list. My name is Michael. I see your a friend of Radiogurl. That's a good reference to have. Radiogurl is a special person and a friend of mine. I'll start reading your diary but remember I'm completely out of my mind and a fan of the strange and bizarre I like tight shoes, tooth ache pain and bumper to bumper traffic...get out while you can!!!!! Oh a little voice in my head said for me to tell you I'm just kidding lol.
from radiogurl :
It's times like this - when you mention the dishwasher - that I'm reminded of how incredibly lucky I am that my children no longer live with me!
from radiogurl :
I was thinking I should call you up when I need auto repairs but I think I should consider getting it done sooner than that LOL!
from radiogurl :
How DARE you be nerdier than me, LOL??? I didn't think anyone could answer honestly and come out with a higher score *g*
from radiogurl :
HAHAHAHA!!! The infamous Farrah poster! I remember those days *g*
from radiogurl :
We don't have any 15mm movies - just some even older 8mm ones. My sister had those put onto videotape a while back but I was thinking I might convert to a digital format, maybe DVD.
from cindreviews :
Cinderella Reviews is a brand new review site. So if you would like a review please come and check us out at http://cindreviews.diaryland.com/ . We hope to be hearing from you soon. Thank You!
from radiogurl :
Dontcha love it when something you want to chuck out the window, you turn around and sell for some pretty change?
from radiogurl :
Taxes are the venue of the devil. I understand them in principle, if they'd take a reasonable amount - but the percentage of our livelihood that goes to taxes is criminal :(
from vickithecute :
Hey, I just had to lock my diary (temporarily, I hope) bcs a coworker of mine got access to it. It's still open to all dlanders though...the user name is vicki and the password is cute
from radiogurl :
I had already thought of that, but there was a second light, still higher than my head, but more behind the camera than in front of it. But I am still pretty sure you're right. I just know I was thoroughly annoyed, lol. If I could I'd wait and take some shots during the daytime, but noooo...
from radiogurl :
Aww man... I hauled a whole crapload of old computers to the dump a while back. Never dreamed anyone would actually WANT them.
from breakangel :
It's amazing what people will buy. I had this old rabbit fur coat that I sold on Ebay for $195...it was unloaded on me by some friends and was totally ugly, but obviously someone felt it was worth their money. But you know, I can't criticize. I browse Ebay all the time and find useless things that I don't need. I've never had any particular desire for a can opener in the shape of a milk cow, but when I saw it on Ebay, I knew I had to have it. Thank God somebody outbid me or I'd be staring at it right now, cursing myself for buying it.
from radiogurl :
Nice picture! Where was the car show? I really gotta watch the papers more. I miss stuff like that since I've been buried in scheduling headaches.
from radiogurl :
Well at least the worries about the drought didn't pan out - so far. I'd rather see the rain (long as it's not catastrophic) than no rain!
from radiogurl :
It HAS been gorgeous, hasn't it? I just hope this doesn't mean now that we've gotten so much rain this winter, it'll be another year before we get more :(
from radiogurl :
Nice picture! And long as there are kids in the house, cleaning is an exercise in futility ;)
from radiogurl :
Man... you CLEAN? Good thing you're already married. You might almost make me rethink the institution!
from radiogurl :
Get all the sunshine you can while you can. From the sounds of things in California, it's about to become very, very wet and nasty here!
from radiogurl :
OOOoh, wife going away, you're cooking? Should I watch for news of another big fire, LOL? *Ducks out before you throw rotten tomatoes at me.*
from radiogurl :
Hehehe, let's not talk about houses with stuff everywhere, okay? *kicks all my stuff back under the bed and pretends my room is clean* And I dunno if I'd refinance to pay for a garage - unless it's for work and going to pay for itself in the long run. A carport is cheaper.
from radiogurl :
Brrrr - it's definitely been cold. I think we're looking at the 20's here tonight.
from radiogurl :
I'm glad it stopped raining there. It certainly hasn't here :(
from radiogurl :
Hey, Legos are addicting if you have enough of them to really build stuff, lol. And we didn't get any rain here until tonight, I don't think. It was pretty gloomy all day though.
from radiogurl :
The first round of storms should be hitting sometime later today (Sunday.) They were monsters when they dumped on L.A., so we could be in for fun. That last big storm from California chomped Arizona in a big way!
from radiogurl :
Aha! Mystery revealed. 100 old COMPUTERS. Hey, more power to you. Sometimes I think I have that many in my bedroom. It sure seems like there's more of them than anything else in my room, lol.
from radiogurl :
The movie is called "Meet the Fockers" though obviously they intended to infer your choice of words, lol. But you're approaching the 100 mark, wooohoo! Now, kindly clarify 100 WHAT... ;)
from radiogurl :
I used to own a Commodore - does that count, LOL? I guess even when it comes to computers, the old stuff ends up worth money eventually. Wonder if 100 years from now, some collector will pay thousands of dollars for antique computers???
from radiogurl :
I know what you mean. Every once in a while we get a horrific wake up call...
from radiogurl :
Merry Christmas, gwtw, and Happy New Year. Hang onto those old parts - you never know!
from radiogurl :
Nice trip! :D I hope you made some good money along with the delivery, too. Merry Christmas!
from radiogurl :
Nice trip! :D I hope you made some good money along with the delivery, too. Merry Christmas!
from radiogurl :
Dang - *I* wanna go to Vegas! Heck, I wanna go ANYWHERE that's a break from the routine here!!!
from radiogurl :
Ack - hope the wife makes the trip without a lot of grief...
from radiogurl :
Awww darn. Hopefully you get your money soon!!
from radiogurl :
I should say, I'll have to open it up 'again'. Obviously I couldn't up her RAM (not to mention cleaning out the inch-thick dust!) without opening the case.
from radiogurl :
Thanks for the note about the fan. I'll check that, too. This has been a long-term sporadic problem. I didn't get to hear the thing originally, and have so far only heard it on the phone. I AM sure it's fan noise now. And changing the power supply would be free, as I've got another power supply. Think I have a processor fan for that processor, too, though I'm less sure of that one. Either way I'll have to open the thing up to fix it, which I didn't want to do, lol.
from gwtw :
uhhh...no, the kids have been in school since August...??? I guess my writing skills are getting lax!
from radiogurl :
You've got a kid who's just starting school? Is he on the year-around plan?
from radiogurl :
Good move. I have written into word pad occasionally but I gotta admit, I normally just type into the box. If I have to copy and paste it over I have the irrational urge to edit the heck out of things, lol.
from radiogurl :
I was hoping we'd get snow here, since the snow level is supposed to drop to about 4000 feet. We're right on the borderline of that. But so far I don't see snow clouds tonight, so I guess no such luck. Oh well, at this rate we'll still end up with snow again this year.
from radiogurl :
Congrats on the anniversary. It may not always be easy, but dating is worse, lol.
from allegedwife :
of course belief in god is not something that needs curing (unless it is belief in the "wrong" god because, naturally, there can only be one "right" god! only pagans would need to be cured) The whole thought process was rather tongue in cheek....or meant to be
from radiogurl :
Yeah - what IS with the rain every weekend lately? I mean, I'm glad for the rain. We needed it badly. But this isn't exactly typical weather for Arizona, lol!
from radiogurl :
You like bodice-rippers? I know more guys who like chick flicks than women, I swear. Better yet, it's typically the macho guys. Never thought about the same principle applying to books. (I don't know whether that applies to you or not. I hope you're not offended, I never know, lol.) But I can see it - there's as much sex in some of the bodice rippers as there is in a Playboy magazine!
from radiogurl :
Well those vehicles were built for a different world. You didn't do the kind of traveling everyone does now. An 8-gallon tank was perfectly acceptable for around town (town was smaller) and the occasional trip.
from radiogurl :
Dang - lunch at hooters? Have a philly sandwich for me! And yeah... I don't know how the vote came out like it did, considering literally everyone I've talked to, anywhere in the country, says they voted for Kerry. I can't help wondering if the folks who voted Bush are simply so shut off from the rest of the world that they're clueless.
from radiogurl :
No worries :) You're not the only one who forgets to link to notes, lol... I AM SO GLAD ELECTIONS ARE OVER! Sorry about screaming in your ear like that, but I was beginning to think I was in a Washington nightmare version of the Neverending Story...
from gwtw :
oops! thanks for pointing that out...as usual, the link was missing because of my brain fade, it wasn't intentional.
from radiogurl :
You really gotta add a link to your notes page *g*... And hey, if you add the amp, just keep the sound levels low enough that the kid can still hear emergency vehicles. Some stereos these days are just too much.
from radiogurl :
Free is always good, particularly if it's an engine. Rebuilt is like buying platinum any more. I'd say gold but even gold isn't that much nowadays.
from radiogurl :
I agree - very cool drawing! :) And being good at drawing people isn't everything. Maybe your son will be an outstanding architect.
from radiogurl :
Take your oars along tomorrow. It's supposed to be gully-washers!
from radiogurl :
Hehehe - well to each his or her own. This election is going to be something else, isn't it?
from radiogurl :
Neat truck but darn about the title. No fun, and you're smart to avoid it. When my hubby was still alive we got stuck with a title problem. I swore I'd never take that chance again.
from radiogurl :
Meh, lots of luck evading the rain, unless you're going to California - in which case you might miss the rain but you'll get the aftereffects of the rain, lol.
from radiogurl :
Sure. Go ahead. Rub in the fact that you've got a fleet of trucks while I'm on foot. Yeesh. (BTW, I'm only kidding - though I'd about kill just to see a cherry-condition '59 Chevy pickup.) I love old cars. They have so much more character than anything out today, not to mention the fact that they were built to last. Everything now is disposable. :(

Heya! Saw you had added me so I thought I would say hi! Glad to see another car person around - so of course, I gotta ask about the new old truck!! What did you find?? Oh, and nice to meet ya and all!
from radiogurl :
Yuck. I remember that. I lived on Power Road in Mesa and the places around us could get cable and DSL, but we got the world's crappiest dial-up service. If it wasn't so expensive for the router, I'd suggest satellite service, because it doesn't depend on the wiring around you.
from radiogurl :
Did you try Gentoo? I know a friend has it loaded on several machines and swears it's the better way to go. You can DL at gentoo.org.
from radiogurl :
*Sigh* Your wife gets time off for lunch? I'm jealous... I eat but never get to actually take *off* for lunch.
from radiogurl :
You must live somewhere in my neck of the woods. I'm in Arizona - nowhere else but the southwest do we have to climb up and turn off the cooler this time of year, lol.
from radiogurl :
Hey go for the job. You never know - you might get something out of it. And if you still see your wife as beautiful after 25 years, it sounds like you are both very fortunate indeed. :)
from radiogurl :
Mwahaha! My mind control worked! You posted a photo and didn't even realize you did it! *G*
from radiogurl :
Oooh, new glasses. Going to post a photo?
from radiogurl :
*high fives* Another Mozilla fan! That explains the naked diary template, too, BWAHAHA!
from radiogurl :
Bwahahaha! Yes, I'm here, and now I'm going to be reading. BE AFRAID! RAVING LUNATIC WOMAN READING YOUR DIARY! ;)
from radiogurl :
Yep, you've definitely got a simple enough template for your diary, LOL. If you ever want to change it, send me a favorite hot-rod photo and I'll see what I can do about fixing you up :)
from radiogurl :
I'm going to have to go back and read your older entries so that I get a better context. I should've done that a while back!
from radiogurl :
Why the boredom? You fix typewriters or is that an analogy? :) More information, please ;)
from gwtw :
hey it is just a test.

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
