Oh, kiddo, I'm sorry I worried you :( Just crazy busy in my beloved gardens. I knew I wouldn't have the energy to write, so I thought I'd renew my membership in the fall and do a memory dump then. All's well :)
from bettyalready :
Where did you GO?
from zencelt :
LOL Janie! I agree.
from bettyalready :
what's vox??? Where are you??
from jamsjunction :
I've missed your updates! But thought you were absent due to not having a computer. Thanks for sharing your new site.
from mydreamhouse :
Hey Janie! I was wondering what happened to you!!! I LOVE the new blog!! Hey - Can I get that Zuppa Touscana recipe from you, please???? It's Jon's fav!! http://www.myspace.com/mylifeasasahm [email protected] Thanks!!
from kestra :
Thanks for letting us know where you went! I'm thinking I need to do something new for a while too, because I've been kind of bored with Diaryland too. So I'll check out the website later today. :)
from nacwolin :
Happy birthday, old girl!!
from nacwolin :
In that pic of you and Steve, you remind me of the redhead on Mythbusters (the hair style). Cute pics!
from jamsjunction :
Your tree is beautiful, just like your family. I must admit your tree makes my skinny tree look like a pencil. I guess I never realized just how skinny my tree really is lmao!
from h2ophobic :
What a beautiful family you have! I especially like the little boys blue t-shirt "allergic to my sister"! Merry Christmas
from sixweasels :
Great pictures!
from bettyalready :
I read the "loser mom" thing and I too, suffer from Mommy Loserish Syndrome.
from jamsjunction :
You are so adorable!! Your hair is really long compared to what I thought it was, I really like it..I wish I could leave mine alone and let it grow. Glad you all had a good time, I cant wait to see your tree.
from cleanstart :
That's a great pic of you all! I'm glad you all had that time together!
from sixweasels :
You all look wonderful!
from nacwolin :
Man, I look like a giant compared to you shorties!
from jamsjunction :
I dont think that makes you a bad mother at all. But kudos to the bus driver for being so kind to drive him back home. Most wouldnt do that. Dont be so hard on yourself, your mom needed you. ((HUGS))
from kestra :
I have to say that I know how you feel about wishing you had somebody to hang out with! All of my internet friends live pretty far away, and I am terrible about making friends in real life. I remember when I was in school, it was a lot easier to make friends, because you saw each other every day. But now, it's like, everybody has their own things to do, and busy with their own life... So then it's easy to become more isolated. I could really relate to your entry about that. Anyway, I know you haven't posted in a while, and I haven't posted notes recently, either... but, I also wanted to say that I really enjoy reading your entries, and miss reading about you and your family when you don't update... There's no pressure on updating, though...lol, just whenever you feel like it... :)
from kittyladymd :
It's been over 6 months for me now after losing my last remaining grandparent, and I'm finally learning to smile when I think about him now instead of just hurt because he's not here any longer. It's tough but believe me it will get easier. These grandparents probably never knew how much of an impact they had on our lives, but I am sure that they are looking over us now. It's too early right now to even think about her without that pain, but every day it will get easier. Big hugs to you!!
from batten :
Sweetie, I don't think she'd want you to be hurting so. Holding onto the pain prevents you from reveling in the joy that she was to you. The "missing" will always be there. It doesn't ever go away. But the pain should. Otherwise, how could we get out of bed every morning? Big hug. Many prayers and much love. -J
from rnbmusings :
Don't be afraid to stop hurting. I went through a period of that too when I lost my son. When the pain subsides, new feelings will take it's place. You'll never forget your Mom-Mom. Hopefully, you will find peace with where she is and you will be able to remember her with a warm heart and a smile. I'm quite sure that is how she wants you to think of her. Much hugs to you. It's ok to live your life without pain. It's ok to smile again. Just do it when you're ready and don't rush it.
from sixweasels :
Just wanted to send a big hug your way. I know that feeling of being glad you can smile again, but not quite wanting to. Thinking of you.
from jamsjunction :
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this trying time. I am so sorry for your loss. ((HUGS))
from nmnohr :
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. What a beautiful tribute you wrote to your Mom-Mom. Hugs!!!
from rnbmusings :
I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom-Mom. She was such a nice lady, and I enjoyed talking to her, the few times that I got the oppurtunity. My thoughts go out to all of you.
from twisted-mind :
I'm so sorry for your loss. (((Janie)))
from batten :
I'n so sorry Janie. Please give my condolences to M, N and the rest of the family. Will be keeping you all in my prayers. But what a lovely loving tribute to her. Big hug. -J
from marlen816 :
You and your offspring (bonus and whatnot) have a demented sense of humor. I found the clip erringly disturbing. How's V's arm - broken or sprain?
from sixweasels :
Wow - I am so impressed with the way you handled that. Hopefully this is the first step on the road to ongoing communication. Hugs and congrats for overcoming your own frustration and fears and handling the situation so well!
from gofigure :
WOW! Janie, that's wonderful! I wish so much that I could have that conversation with Joan Crawford. She flat refuses to talk to me. It's so sad for the kids. Anyway, I am thrilled for you! What a wonderful weight lifted from your heart. xo
from cleanstart :
I am sooo proud, and happy for you!! I hope this is a new beginning! And hugs to Victoria!!
from nacwolin :
Wow. Glad that is out in the open now - hopefully it is all up from here!
from twisted-mind :
Wow, wow and WOW! Way to go Janie. I am so proud of you! I hope it does help and she learns you arent against her and you only want the best for everyone. Yay Janie! Hope Victoria feels much better soon and there is no further medical treatment needed.
from twisted-mind :
What happened to her wrist? Is she ok?
from zencelt :
I'm taking bets on how many people think that statement was true. LOL! You know, I can't find anyone to go to the Renn Fest with me this year, and its kind of boring to go by yourself, because you have nobody to commisserate over the freaks with...
from kittyladymd :
I would have totally done the same thing...and probably have, but Nicolas NEVER goes for it. The boy is as stubborn as they come for sure. I can't even get him to eat the carrot pieces out of chicken noodle soup, because, HORROR, that would mean he'd consume a vegetable! Then again, he doesn't eat the chicken out of it either, yet will eat chickent nuggets. Sometimes. Then again, I don't like the chicken in the soup either, so once again, he's all MY CHILD and it sounds like your boy could be one of my own too...except I love mushrooms!
from rnbmusings :
mmmm, I haven't had bread pudding in ages....come to think of it, I haven't had anything with many calories at all in ages...guess it's time to hop off the diet wagon and make some bread pudding....if I gain a pound, I can totally blame you for this, right?
from marlen816 :
He he! Just wait until someone tells him the real truth! You'll be soooo busted =)
from sixweasels :
Your last few entries made me feel all happy and fall-like. I love this time of year too!
from ingridwrites :
I am terrible at making crust! Which is ironic, since I love crust so... I usually just buy the roll out kind in the store. Haha. No one knows. ;) It also works great for chicken potpie that I make with chicken leftovers. ;)
from rnbmusings :
Forgot to say, if you have a 360, go to his myspace page and give him your username. He'll challenge you to a game if he sees you online. He said that he will pretty much play against anyone! Then you can get to know him a little too!! I'm not so lucky, I guess...just one of the many who get the chance to meet him virtually!
from rnbmusings :
Are you referring to my knowledge of what the view from behind looks like? I went to see him in concert(awesome show, especially if you're right up front!) I DO have some limited access via XBox 360. He and I have had the joy of playing a couple man against woman games of table tennis(yes, I AM a big dork, don't rub it in!!). So far, he is in the lead, but I am a strong contendar...we only play about 1x a month though...hard man to get a hold of! I guess if I weren't married with kids, I'd have tried a littler harder to get a hold of him :o)
from jamsjunction :
I'm glad your physically feeling better. Hope all of lifes messy things get straightened out soon. ((HUGS))
from twisted-mind :
I'm so sorry you are a sickie. Hope the meds make you better real fast.
from ingridwrites :
You know, that is pretty much what she is like. Are you sure you haven't met her? ;)
from jamsjunction :
I'm sorry to hear that Mom-Mom isnt doing well. My thoughts and prayers are with her & your family. ((HUGS))
from twisted-mind :
aww I'm sorry Josiah isn't feeling well. That's how my son's started too, fever and headache. Hope he gets better super quick.
from tara10573 :
Hope Josiah is feeling better soon. We had our Back-to-School night last night and C's teacher wasn't nearly as scary as C made her out to be. And, D's teacher is fresh from college so it should be an interesting year. She was so quiet and shy.
from tara10573 :
I'm right there with ya and this crappy weather isn't helping things. I love the cool weather, but a bit of sun might help brighten the day all around. We'll have to meet up for coffee one morning soon.
from twisted-mind :
((((Janie))))
from rnbmusings :
HUGS to you and your family. I met your grandmother a few times, and really like her personality! Sorry that you are going through this hard time. I will pray that the rest of her time with you will be happy and comfortable.
from aisling2005 :
can you explain to ME where on the flip side came from?! geez. you make me feel younggg when you say things i never knew ;)
from rnbmusings :
My heart aches for you. I know I am going to miss my girl badly when she starts. It's going to be a big adjustment for me to see her go from 3 half days a week, to everyday, all day! I'm grateful I have my boy to hang out with. I'd say go to the park and swing on the swings anyway, but yeah, you're right...someone might say something to you.
from twoseasons :
I soo know what you mean. I still had W&S here all day (except for W's one hour K orientation). I really did miss A today though. :( I was really happy to go get her this afternoon.
from sewingmama :
Just wanted to say hey! I miss ya! :)
from rnbmusings :
Congrats on the completed room! Pink and polka dots must be the new fad, because I have a girl over here begging for a pink room and this new polka dotted bed spread she recently saw. Glad that you have both of your sister's living in somewhat close proximity now! That's really great!
from twisted-mind :
I too dread the homework battle. Boo Hiss!
from cleanstart :
Yikes, I hope you sleep really good tonight!! And btw, was her ear still bothering her this morning?
from zencelt :
I'm sending you peaceful, deep sleeping vibes tonight : )
from squirt82599 :
In regards to your venting -- I whole heartedly understand what you are going through. We lost our custody battle and actually had our visitation cut back by a ridiculous judge *our appeal is in process right now* but OH does it irk me when bioparents don't think of their kids!
from kestra :
I know I would have a hard time leaving after so many years too!
from nacwolin :
Jiggly leg, eh? That's okay - Kaytlin yelled across the UofDel pool last week, "Your butt jiggles!" as I walked to my chair. Brat. (Her, not you)
from kestra :
No matter what your name is, Mommy or Miss Janie, the relationship you build with them will stand independent of that. Even someone you call Mommy isn't necessarily someone that everyone will love and respect automatically. It's just a statement of biological fact. However, you can build lasting, meaningful relationships with people that are not technically part of your biological family. I know there's a lot of emotion attached to the name, silly as it seems, so I'm not trying to disregard it... but I know that it's tough being a biological parent, and having someone else claim that a step-parent is equivalent to them... I know your situation is different, but it's just one of those things that has to be dealt with when it comes to being a step-parent...
from twisted-mind :
I'm sorry Janie you don't deserve this. Like Nicole said, in time the kids will know the truth. Stay positive.
from nacwolin :
{{{Janie}}}. One day the kids will know the truth.
from nacwolin :
I don't want a cookie - I want a homemade crab cake :-P.
from nacwolin :
Charleston :-).
from ingridwrites :
Hmm, I don't think my mom's version of Prince Charming actually does exist. And then, if he did, my mom would probably hate him. Hehe. ;)
from jamsjunction :
I just wanted to let you know that I have moved my blog. I am now at http://simplyjamie.wordpress.com . I look forward to seeing you there from now on.
from kestra :
Wow, it sounds like you're making the most of your kid-free time, despite being at home! I know what you mean about it feeling weird when there are less people in the house than normal, but it's also good that you're turning it into a positive thing. :)
from kestra :
I second what Ingrid said. I think we should start a new fashion trend, where comfortable is beautiful and uncomfortable is ugly! lol Well, it was worth a try anyway. I would love to see the shoes, if you can a chance, too. :) Also, I'm glad to hear the BCP is working for you. I had light spotting almost constantly when I first started the BCP, for about 4 months, but I have been taking the BCP for so long now that sometimes I wonder where my dear Aunt Flo went... She never comes to visit anymore. She used to be such a frequent visiter too, like every 3 weeks, instead of every 4. But I'm sure it's much more of a pain in the butt when she won't leave. :)
from ingridwrites :
YAY! Shoes! Show us! Show us! I love shoes, I can never walk by them without stopping. BUT I always talk myself out of them ~ because I think 'Where on earth would I ever wear those?' Mister sometimes makes me buy them just because he likes me to be happy. So I spend too much money on strappy black shoes that hang out in my closet. Yesterday I went shopping for comfy shoes/sandals for Vegas and all that walking. Have you noticed cute and comfortable DO NOT go together? Comfy seems to = fugly!
from moodymama :
have fun on your trip! :)
from nacwolin :
Isn't it sad that we have lived this close to NYC and we haven't gone up there yet?! Anyway, have fun. When are you all going back...did you drive up? If so, stop by and see me, you big dork!! Oh, and let me know if you all are going to brave the 4th at the parentage's. And that also reminds me - one of ours finally went down with that virus (Parker). How long does it usually last? tata :)
from nacwolin :
Ah, the boys have been bickering quite a bit here too. Glad K is seeing it from another perspective :-).
from ingridwrites :
You are not mean. It all sounds completely normal to me ~ every mom loves that first day back at school ;) Ahh, the silence is wonderful. Also? Naked coffee is the best coffee ever!
from moodymama :
you rock. nice to know i'm not the only "mean" mother out there. :)
from ingridwrites :
You are so mean! I can't believe those kids have to READ *gasp* and do CHORES! hehe. Aren't kids funny?
from ingridwrites :
I hear you. My husband is out tonight. After a long week of some kind of funk in him, he went out with his friends. I only just found out he is staying there. My daughter is spending the night with a neighbor and I'm all alone. :(
from nacwolin :
Now my virgin eyes/ears are burning :-P!!
from jamsjunction :
ROCK ON WITH THE BIG O! Doesn't it just make your proud. Of course we haven't deleted you. I couldn't bring myself to do that.
from mydreamhouse :
You're KIDDING?!?! You've never had the big "O" during intercourse?? I'm SO SORRY to hear that!! Hopefully, it will keep up!!
from nacwolin :
Did you get my email about Memorial Day? Write me back or call me!
from ingridwrites :
Oh, I hear you on the bcp! I'm pretty pissed that I took them as long as I did, getting more anxious and paranoid by the pill, and one month after quitting them I was back to what life was like before I had ever taken them. Seemed like a waste of time, to me. But it isn't for everyone and I do so hope they work for you!!! As it is, since the *ahem* issue is back, I'm thinking I may try the mirena coil. I can always have it taken out, right? We'll see... As for Victoria's Secret = LOVE their bras and their swimsuits. ;)
from kestra :
Hey I am an impatient person. The first time I started taking birth control pills, the first couple months I was spotting the entire time. I just stopped taking them because it was so annoying. Then I started on depo, and after I took that, I was stuck with it for three months. Again, first couple months I was spotting, but after three months, it stopped, so that's why I kept taking it. All I can say is have patience with it (I know how tough it is) and I think it will start working. I haven't had my period in a long time because of taking the birth control pill... it's great... sometimes it makes me paranoid too, though...lol
from moodymama :
it's about time! was wondering what happened to you. :)
from nacwolin :
Check your email - there is an offer you can't refuse, ha :-)
from twisted-mind :
Glad to know you are doing ok, just keeping busy. :o)
from twisted-mind :
Isn't it about time for an update Missy?
from fightn4life :
I stumbled across your diary tonight and was lost in your writing, what a gift of expression you have. I loved the entry, "God are you trying tell me something?" Something like that. Wow, I could so relate to that post. I also liked your walk around the neighborhood hanging fliers. I too have three kids and after my teen hood love came back from Viet Nam, our lives were never normal then about 10 years later we parted ways. Me, being left with the children, thank God. (I will forever dispute the man that came back from V.N. was the one that left) Anyway wanted to leave a note letting you know I was lurking tonight and spent some awesome time in your world. Sandyz
from ingridwrites :
Your flyer hanging is interesting because I offered to MOW my mil's yard this summer for exercise and monetary gain. Partly because I deserve it and, hey, why pay a gym membership when someone is willing to pay me to get tan and lean? ;) Good luck with all your flyers today!
from cleanstart :
Hey, that's still pretty clever of him! And he's right on!
from marlen816 :
I still think he is a genius - and a cute one at that!
from moodymama :
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((janie))))))))))))))))))))))) girl. where'd all that come from? you do not see what the rest of us see, apparently. i know how that goes. i adore you just the way you are, and so do so many other people. and you know i don't leave these types of comments for just anyone these days. don't get me started on that topic though because i might go off on a tangent and start ranting in my nice comment to you about scandalous internet bitches. okay i'll quit now.
from h2ophobic :
That was an AWESOME entry. So honest, so true. You put words on a page that so many of us don't even dare to think. Thanks!
from starlight42 :
Hey- I am planning a vacation to Maryland- Baltimore and Ocean City, for the summer, and since you live in Maryland, I was wondering if you had any suggestions for me on things to do or see. Any advice tips etc. would be appreciated! Thanks.
from katress :
i never thought He did in the first place. :)
from cleanstart :
I could have written that entry, all but hte last paragraph. I'm still not at the point of liking myself and it's really a horrible thing. I am so tired of not liking me and feeling not good enough. And it's all me, not anyone else or anything making me feel this way, just me. I so need help!
from zonoria :
Yep, awesome entry. Years ago, someone at an old job had a sign in his office: "I know I'm special because God doesn't make junk."
from marlen816 :
Awesome entry today (4/25) Had me crying. I am an emotional mess today, though, anyway.
from nacwolin :
Good entry today (4/25/06). Rob is always saying God is a remedial God - He just keeps bringing that same lesson again and again, until we get it. Good thing, though, eh?
from h2ophobic :
I've added you to my buddy list...I hope that's OK
from jamsjunction :
I certainly hope the bcp works!
from nacwolin :
Getting our butts back in shape is not an exclusive group, so yes, feel free to join us :).
from katress :
I hear you about the repetitive trips. Sometimes it makes you wonder about the clients. Are they that freaking picky??? LOL I miss your more regular updates.
from ingridwrites :
Oh don't get me started on the X's thinking they can pick and choose whenever they want to be a parent. Usually whenever they have money and 'fun' stuff to do. Yeah, but throw one wrench into it, like sickness or like my X used to like to use the excuse that he had to do laundry. DUDE! It's fricking laundry. I walked OUR son to the laundromat WITH the laundry in a sack on my back, did the laundry and miraculously watched him while I did it. Then I huffed it all back home. Amazing that he couldn't manage to do that when he had a car :( I hate X's.
from kittyladymd :
It's so hard to watch a grandparent slip away like that. I watched both of my own grandmothers go through the same thing due to cancer. I'm sending you big hugs and strength vibes.
from tara10573 :
Is that sand BIG enough for both of our heads??? I'm right there with ya.
from cleanstart :
HUGS Janie!
from kittyladymd :
MUCH better. Too cute that Alex!
from ingridwrites :
;) Aren't you the newest director of reality tv? ;) Have fun with the videos.
from kittyladymd :
Ok it was hard for me to see it clearly or hear it. Maybe there is something wrong with my computer?
from twisted-mind :
That was soooo cute.
from katress :
That was seriously one of the cuter things that I have seen in a while. LOL
from katress :
When we lived out in that area, we had found Robert E. Lee's house where he died. We were just driving around in the wine country down by Fredericksburg (to the West of there) and found it. Neat stuff.
from starlight42 :
I see someone was meantioning pilates- I wanted to say that I loved my pilates! I could definitely see and feel a difference in a few weeks. It didn't burn that many calories for me, because I did the "mat work" and not a whole lot of the cardio, but it certainly toned.
from starlight42 :
I didn't know you lived in Maryland. That's one of the places we're thinking of going for summer vacation this year! Can't wait to see more pics.
from ingridwrites :
Pilates. Supposedly it works. I can't say because I've never stuck with it long enough to work - but I HEAR it works. I walk every day now. Outside. In the rain. I hate it - but I envision myself wearing a bikini and laying next to a pool and that helps.
from twisted-mind :
Ewww a jar full of fat sure would work for me.
from twisted-mind :
ugh... flat as not flat at
from twisted-mind :
Isn't having a flat at a pancake butt a bad thing?
from kestra :
Oh, I understand how you feel about the telephone. My mom is the same way. Actually, she's worse than me, because I try to get myself over it and just do it. Admittedly, I try to get out of it whenever I can. Unfortunately, my husband can't make phone calls at work, so he tends to leave me with a list of people to call for a particular day. Talk about torturing me. :) So yeah, I just wanted to say, I can sympathize with how you feel. ;) Your idea for a trip sounds rather unique. I think it's a great idea to use it to create a website, especially, though, because then it will be just as much fun remembering it as it is actually doing it. :)
from nacwolin :
Chasing ghosts? Man, you all know how to par-tay!! ;-)
from cleanstart :
Hugs Janie, you deserve that martini! Go for it and cry every sip you take. Crying helps release that bottled up "crappy" feel.. more hugs~
from ingridwrites :
A good cry AND a chocolate martini are probably in order. You can do both and maybe you'll feel better. Sometimes just that emotional release of crying makes everything better.
from cleanstart :
Hugs Janie.... I hope the shower helped!
from twisted-mind :
(((Janie))) I call for a Monday do over.
from cleanstart :
lol.. you are so funny. but, I'd do the cheap coffee thing without feeling bad...
from ingridwrites :
I hope you do not get that icky stomach thing!
from twisted-mind :
That's just so sad. As if being pre-teen wasnt hard enough.
from ingridwrites :
((hugs)) all we can do is love them. And that is the part that breaks our hearts.
from cleanstart :
Ha, Ing's comment was humorous. *giggles*
from rnbmusings :
Soon, I promise to give you the password, but I am working through some stuff now and I need to get it out.
from twisted-mind :
I'm sorry but the word panties just makes me giggle.
from ingridwrites :
hehe. Maybe she'll sell them on the internet? ;)
from kittyladymd :
Oh I can't believe they didn't eat them. Another old favorite of mine was the frozen chicken and dumplings, but I haven't bought that in year. Oh, and the frozen pot pies. My only problem is they all have to cook in the (GASP!) oven and usually take so long I'm starving by the time they are done. Next time I am so THERE for the salisbury steaks! Glad to hear the tooth pain mystery had been solved and poor Steve!
from kestra :
Oh shoot! I forgot to respond to your guestbook message. Actually, I was happy in that picture because of the weather. :-) It made me forget my classroom troubles. ;-) Yes, the newer, cooler weather feels cold now, but I'm holding my breath for the warmer weather to come back... :-) and then it will be hot weather... high bge bills... and days I'm wishing I could be swimming instead.... ;-) But I'm jumping ahead of myself!
from kestra :
I would definitely press going back to the dentist *Soon* - that is, not treating like it's a regular appointment that can wait forever. It sounds like it's gotten infected, or something similar, and that needs to be treated asap. Hopefully the dentist can prescribe some new pain pills too. Those things truly are worth their weight in gold (worthy of using sparingly otherwise)! It's a shame that this has happened, because it wasn't even your idea and now look what you have to deal with. :-P
from tara10573 :
I'm a fan of the frozen Salisbury steaks too, but I go with the cheap boxed mashed potatoes - lol :-) Hope you feel better soon.
from kittyladymd :
You know, I LOVE those frozen Salisbury Steaks. Sadly, the last time I tried them in the microwave I think I cooked too many at once and they turned out awful. That's what I get for trying to make a quick meal even quicker I guess. Can I come over and try yours?
from twisted-mind :
Every mom should get off with a once a month frozen dinner meal and no horrible veggies.
from nacwolin :
You could have what is called a "dry socket" - Rob got one and it is quite painful. They had to pack it with witch hazel. You may want to call the dentist and let them know they are bothering you, just in case.
from ingridwrites :
Yeah, but you can HIDE your episiotimy scar... Oh, don't eat chips. OUCH. And be careful with the toothbrush when you go towards the back(another ouch!). Isn't it weird how you can't keep your tongue away from the holes? When do you go back to the dentist?
from ingridwrites :
Keep rinsing with the salt water (blech!) and take care of yourself. Did you get bruises on your face? I got big ugly bruises and I looked like a chipmunk.
from jamsjunction :
ICK ICK TRIPPLE ICK! Keep those sickies there! Hope the sick one is well soon!
from starlight42 :
hope you feel better soon!!
from ingridwrites :
Oh no! I hope the rest of you stay WELL!! Having just recovered from something icky myself, I know how 'gross' it all is. Make sure everyone washes their hands 1,000 times per day ;)
from katress :
Janie, I'll nominate you if you nominate me! :) Seriously though, I'm jealous too, but the photos that you've posted - you're such a classy chica! No need to do a "What Not to Wear" on you at all!
from jamsjunction :
YIKES! That sounds scary. I had four molars pulled in ninth grade, at once, and it freaked me the hell out. I hope I never have to have anymore teeth pulled. Hope your feeling better soon!
from cleanstart :
Yikes!! You are the brave one! GO you, being all big all by yourself. *giggles* And the punchline was great. What brand of lipstick is this? MUST HAVE IT~
from rnbmusings :
Go you!! Braver then me, I woulda just gotten up and darted out the door. Hope you're feeling better now. Rock on about the lipstick!
from marlen816 :
So did they do the crown, too??
from kittyladymd :
Oh my goodness...you brave soul you. I probably would have not had the nerve to say anything either, but would have been FREAKING OUT on the inside. I though pulling wisdom teeth was a pretty big deal. They wanted to pull mine a few years ago but I refused. I mean, if they aren't bothering me, why take them? I figure at least when I'm old and have no teeth, maybe those will still be there!
from twisted-mind :
lol Janie you crack me up with that lipstick. I totally would have ran from the office crying and screaming. That's just not right to surprise you like that.
from ingridwrites :
You are so brave! And I don't care how much that lipstick costs, it is way worth how great it makes you feel!
from katress :
LOL You and your zombies. :) Just wanted to let you know that you make me smile.
from rnbmusings :
Maybe it ws just the night for weird dreams...I dreamt I was at the grocery store and seacrest for Idol is following me around saying"If you think she she buy the banana, text vote to 5701, if you want to see her get the apple, text 5702" I THINK maybe I shouldn't watch it right before I fall asleep. LOL at the office though. That's a good one!
from ingridwrites :
The office ROCKS! If I had a dream about The Office, it would be because of Jim. But then...I've never met Steve ;) Have a great day!
from jamsjunction :
gosh I left a novel, I'm sorry lol
from jamsjunction :
Ughh the Lupron. I hate it, I dont want to take it. I have huge fears of the long term effects it will have on my body. I fought hard, but in the end lost out. He basically told me we cant do IVF without it, in my situation. It could potentially cause me to waste $4500 worth of medications, and I'm just not willing to test those waters. The Lupron supresses the ovarian function, so that we (meaning my medication, and my doctor) can bring it back up slowly, and at the speed we need it to be. The supression is important so that I dont spontaniously ovulate (Has never happened in my life, but murpheys law would make it happen this cycle, and screw everything, thats my luck) on my own and ruin everything. The supression is important also so that the eggs are fresh at retrievel, and can be asperated out, rather then them releasing on there own. I hate it, but it will all be worth it in the end. So I agree'd to suck it up and take it. I still dont recommend it, unless a last resort. But get a second opinion. And btw, I cant pronounce that either, and didnt know what it was, so I looked it up. I cant remember what your last procedure was. Was it an Hysteroscopic endometrial ablation? I was reading, and it seems that a hysterectomy is the cure all for it. That totally sucks, since you are my age, and to young for that if you ask me.
from babyontheway :
Hey!! Smoky eye effect needs special brushes. It took me a couple of weeks to figure out how to acheive that one! I will have to email you how I figured it out...oh, and you could totally rock that look! You have the great eye shape for it!
from twisted-mind :
Oh Janie, we all say things from time to time and wish we could suck them right back up. Don't be so hard on yourself. I hope you'll forive yourself soon and be able to enjoy your evening with Steve.
from f-i-n :
I saw them in Miami a while ago....the concert was almost as much about the lights as the music...
from kittyladymd :
Ok, so since you told me the book you are reading, have you had a chance to visit the Mudd house since you live very close to it?
from kittyladymd :
Ok, I just wanted to say if you are worried about your hair, that I recall when my grandmother died that my mom had her regular hairdresser do her hair for the viewing. So, I think you wouldn't necessarily be at the mercy of the funeral home people in the hair and makeup department. I have no idea how one would approach their hairdresser to ask that sort of question though. Ok, I think this is just a little too much death talk for me today.
from rnbmusings :
Cold play is awesome!! MCi, right? I couldn't get tickets this time!! Apple isn't all that great, MAYBE 2 good songs...It really wouldn't be a big deal if you got there late. And she has a following of some pretty strange fans. I saw her a few years ago. Make sure to give me the blow by blow and if they play "yellow" clap real hard for me, it's my favorite song! Reminds me of being preggo with Rachel.
from bluebonnet :
You can track your cycle online. I use www.mymonthlycycles.com
from rnbmusings :
ok, I realize it was a dream about the 25 guy, but what was the refernce to lord of the rings? Were you dreaming about a stupid fat hobbit too? hehee...And, no, you aren't lazy...there are some days I don't get a shower until 1 or 2...whenever Ben gets to sleep! It's called motherhood!!
from babyontheway :
Hope the flu bug has left your house!!! I opened a new diary. rnbmusings. I figured its a good time for a change, since there is no baby on the way anymore!
from twisted-mind :
Hope you all are feeling better today.
from cleanstart :
Good for you for preparing!! And you know what, if he's into all of that "junk"... then he would not want the kids full time anyway, they'd just be in his way!
from cleanstart :
So, is he trying to get custody of the kids..or are they wanting to live with him? I'm confused...lol. Or maybe all of this is just a cover yourself IF anything ever comes up in the future? Or maybe it's none of my business.LOL...
from starlight42 :
Thanks for the congrats. I'm sorry to hear you had the flu! At least it turned out not to be the bird flu, but gosh, to not be in the mood for chinese?! :( Ugh, and as for the ex, what a jerk!!
from babyontheway :
Standing Ovation!! I'm so proud of you! It is so obvious how much you have grown from your experience with your X. Hope it all gets straightened out soon!!
from jamsjunction :
You tell him hunny! Hope all the sickies leave your house soon, so Steve can come home and STAY home!
from cleanstart :
YOU.GO.SISTA!!
from ingridwrites :
Yes, those pictures are taken from my front doorway and my back doorway. Yikes!
from twisted-mind :
Poor munchkin. Fevers scare me too! Hope you were able to go back to sleep and get some rest too!
from babyontheway :
So sorry that you're sick! We were at the CEC and now my 2 kiddos are sck too!I really dislike that place sometimes! Sorry you missed it, would've been good to see you again. I hope you all get better quickly!
from kittyladymd :
Sorry about the sickies hitting so hard down there. Hope you are feeling better soon and I'll be sure to stay OUT of So. MD until you give the all clear!
from ingridwrites :
Well I'm glad it isn't Bird Flu - but really sorry you are sick at all. Hope you are better soon. It sucks to be mama and still have to be mama whether you are sick or not!
from nmnohr :
Hope you are all feeling better soon!!! I was sick sick sick on Sunday morning, but fortunately it's better now.
from zonoria :
It's hype, More Bush-induced panic. A virus mutating into a form that can be passed from human to human is a rare thing indeed. And ALL flus start in birds. Gawd, I hate when the media does this.
from jamsjunction :
That article is wrong on so so many levels.
from moodymama :
(((((((((((((((((((((janie)))))))))))))))) thank you so much for your email. :)
from cleanstart :
Oh, I HATE those too! I have trouble finding 10 relatives to mail them too. A relative on their dads side actually bought a magazine subscription this year, so both of my kids received free glow in the dark scooby doo shirts. Lord, I'm in trouble every year now, they will expect someone to buy a subscription! They are currently selling COKES?? Whose heard of selling cokes as a fundraiser? I wish they would concentrate on teaching our kids more than putting together a couple of fundraisers a week. Sorry to go on and on, if you can tell.. these every other day fundraisers erk me!
from jamsjunction :
Hope your dental work went well, and you arent in to much pain!
from babyontheway :
Tom Cruise/Brad Pitt...completely off the wall NUTS! I don't think so...hehe..how's the mouth doing? Feeling better today?
from ingridwrites :
Oh, I don't like those things either! I am not good at selling and making people feel obligated to buy my kid's stuff.
from cleanstart :
Happy Valentine's Day! I hope the dentist takes it easy on you! I too want to get my teeth "done"...
from ingridwrites :
Happy Valentine's Day! Good luck at the dentist.
from kittyladymd :
Glad Mar arrived safely and you guys are having a good time. Any chance of bringing her to to A. Mills in the next few days and meeting ME for lunch??? :)
from cleanstart :
I hope you and Marn have a great time!
from nacwolin :
Okay, so NOW I'm getting blamed for the SNOW! ROFLOL!!
from katress :
Go figure - it's AirTran. When I was in the travel industry we had more problems with them!!! Hope Marlen arrives safely. :)
from ingridwrites :
No way! It is mine ;) I earned that money washing clothes! Hehe. I figure it was the dryer's way of 'paying for itself'. ;)
from cleanstart :
We are a taco loving family...but umm, we are a long shot from rich! LOL... that's funny, the way kids think. Go make that poor baby some tacos. You bad momma! :O)
from nacwolin :
Okay, the taco thing...that's funny! Really, they don't cost that much to make! Go for it. :-)
from nmnohr :
You deserve the free starbucks!!!!!!!!
from aisling2005 :
Yay for free starbucks!
from kittyladymd :
I am SO with you on the laundry. That's probably why I have four baskets of clean laundry in my bedroom right now, and another load of clean laundry on the couch in my bedroom. When will it get folded? Who the heck knows! Hope Steve's trip goes quickly so he's back home soon!
from cleanstart :
YUMMMM-E!!! I will definitely be putting that recipe to use! thanks for sharing it!
from batten :
Hugs to you. Hope you're feeling okay. Bacon Swiss? Hmmmm. How about Monterey Jack... cheese. I love cheese. Ask H. She'll tell you. Big hug, much love and many prayers. -J
from cleanstart :
Bacon Swiss Pie...? Yummy, can I have the recipe?
from ingridwrites :
I do so love some diet cherry vanilla dr pepper! I also love offering it to people ~ because it sounds like you couldn't fit anything more into it. Oh maybe they could call it, 'caffeine free diet cherry vanilla dr pepper'. Heh. No one ever takes me up on having one though. Oh well, more for me! ;)
from nmnohr :
What are the odds? Did you read my last entry? My girlfriend was just diagnosed with adenomyosis. She also has endometriosis. She's having a hysterectomy in March. I'm sorry you have to deal with all this.
from zonoria :
Yeah, that's some wicked stuff. The endometrium grows into the muscle of the uterus itself. One website I saw suggested the Pill and anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen, etc.). I'm guessing you tried those? I guess ablation wouldn't work, since the problem is that the tissue is IN the uterine muscle. So sorry that you have to deal with this. But also a bit angry, too, because when things like this happen, my first response is, "Right. And if men had to deal with this, they'd have found a decent treatment or a cure a long time ago." Don't mind me. I just feel for ya.
from passing-go :
Well, I'm glad you called and asked. I would have been like you and played it off. Birth control pills can't help the periods at all?
from jamsjunction :
Stick to your guns on the Lupron. I know alot of doctors dont like it when patients question there authority, and intelligence. But I found that taking in hard evidence (I printed off pages and pages of how bad lupron is)with you to your appointments helps. If you go in armed, and well versed on your point of view, they dont think you're just passing off second hand information that could be wrong. I researched the hell out of it, and frankly, I dont think that its safe. I realize that many drugs have many options of use..but I think they should only use Lupron for its intended manufactoring, which is for the prostate. But thats just me, and my little opinion. I hope that soon you can get to the bottom of it all, and be finished with all of this.
from passing-go :
(((((Janie))))
from ingridwrites :
adenomyosis? I had to look up the spelling. Does that sound right?
from starlight42 :
I hope you can find more info on what you have and that the dr. can figure something out. It's got to be so frustrating. Good for you though for doing your research. I always do that too.
from jamsjunction :
Lupron is nasty! I will never take it again if I have a say. I hope all goes well with your appt.
from katress :
Happy Tuesday guestbook/note signing day! Free music is always good. I have to say too, loved your story about the boots. Made me giggle. :)
from littledjblue :
you got a FREE c0mm0nr0y CD? i'm really jealous! i just bought my copy friday night. isn't it wonderful? i think my favorite is track 8.
from nmnohr :
I have those same boots!!!!! I have black ones too :o) I'm always a little depressed this time of year. It's cold and gloomy here, and that doesn't help at all.
from starlight42 :
I agree with your comment, that makes sense, about your marriage being the most impt. thing. I didn't think of it that way either...I get the winter blues too. I'm ready for summer!
from zonoria :
I LOVE IT! How did you not crack up? I would have snorted lemon meringue out my nose. Heh.
from cleanstart :
lol, too funny. He's clever!
from wifemotherme :
My heart goes out to you! I had air settle up in my shoulder after I had my tubes tied and 10 year later I still can recall that horrid PAIN!!! Tell Steve and I bet he would be happy to deal with Alex and they whould have fun hanging out while you sleep off the pain meds. Wishing you a speedy recovary
from zonoria :
So sorry it's still owwie, lovie.
from passing-go :
Hey when I had my daughter c-section my shoulder hurt so bad I thought I'd die. I kept telling them I needed to get up. I guess sometimes the air goes up into the shoulder. Keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, call the dr. office.
from cleanstart :
Oh hun, I'm sorry that you arae hurting. I hope things get better soon! And again, great man you have there!
from jamsjunction :
That get up sounds ohh so sexy! I know you were totally hot!
from kittyladymd :
Ugh, the waiting is pretty bad, I agree. I still can't believe they haven't found anything yet, which I'm sure is frustrating you much more than me at this point! Hope you heal quickly...but not too quickly and enjoy the time with everyone else taking care of things!
from cleanstart :
Uh, don't you hate that! I've never understood why they must get you there so early, just to have you wait? But, you know you loved laying their so long with such a cute attire. lol..
from moodymama :
((((((((((((((((((((janie)))))))))))))))) hope you feel better soon and glad that they didn't find anything catastrophic. :)
from cleanstart :
I'm glad yo uare home and everything went good. Kudos to that great husband of yours! You so deserve this man!!
from jamsjunction :
Glad your home, and recovering. Sorry to hear they didnt seem to find the cause of your problems though. That sucks! I pray it isnt Lupron they want to put you on! I've taken it, its made by the devil I promise lol.
from ingridwrites :
Tape some saran wrap over it. I know it sounds silly, but make a 'cover' for it, and tape it up. You need better than scotch tape though. A waterproof surgical tape would be excellent. I used to have to do that for parts of me that had stitches after a motorcycle accident. HAH! I even went 'swimming' with my cast on - covered in a garbage bag and hug amounts of duct tape. My husband broke his arm in the bent position and I had to tape him up for every single shower for 6 weeks. It is a pain, but at least you won't stink ;) I'll bet they try you on BCP or Depo or IUD. Seems to be the Cure All as far as they are concerned.
from zonoria :
Glad it went smoothly, but I wish they had an answer for you. Hugs!
from passing-go :
So glad you are home safe and sound and being spoiled. Take it easy the next few days.
from zonoria :
A Sharpie? You might be sore when you wake up--from all the scrubbing! Hopefully it's a water-soluble one. Yes, coping through humor. Good luck, my dear. Sending healing thoughts your way!
from cleanstart :
Hugs and prayers Janie!
from passing-go :
I'll be thinking of you.
from babyontheway :
Good Luck with evetything and I will be praying for you! Let us know how it's going...you know I don't know now else to contact you, and I will be really worried if it goes several days and I don't hear from you!!!
from cleanstart :
I participated... thanks for the tag.
from ingridwrites :
I love the name Cadence.
from starlight42 :
I always think of what someone once said when a snobby sales person upset them, and that is- they are the person that is working in the store, you are the one shopping- so why should they be snobby? Duh. :)
from passing-go :
I'm glad you liked the movie. Have fun tonight.
from moodymama :
you are such a wonderful mommy. :) glad you enjoyed the theatre.
from marlen816 :
I want to go see that movie soon. Maybe this weekend. Or the next weekend we have the all the kiddos. Have fun tonight!
from zonoria :
I'll have you know that I run virus scans on my computer all the time, thank you much. You must have gotten the snot from someone else. Heh. ;-)
from passing-go :
Put just alittle perfume under your nose or something to cover the smell. The movie was good. I hope you can enjoy it.
from moodymama :
((((((((((((janie))))))))))))) i'll be thinking about you. :)
from ingridwrites :
Oh (((Janie)))! I hope your surgery goes well. If they can get all the adhesions, that will be great. Thank you for your comment, it means a lot to me. Interesting how my friends on the internet are more understand and compassionate than my RL friends. Maybe I'm more open online?
from passing-go :
That's it Janie. You are in so much trouble. I didn't know who got me sick but since you admitted it was you... I've caught you red handed. Now pass the nyquil and no one will get hurt.
from cleanstart :
lol... Greg is VERY squeamish too. *giggles*
from zonoria :
A tip: When the surgeon comes in to say hello--as he or she should, mind you--BEFORE they give you any drugs, have him or her mark directly on your body what is supposed to be done. My foot guy did that, put a big X on my left foot to make sure he worked on the correct one. Or you can even have your husband write it on your body with pencil eyeliner. "SURGERY IS FOR XYZ." I did that when I went to the doctor once for abdominal pain--drew a big arrow and "HURTS HERE" in case I passed out. They can always remove the eyeliner with alcohol when it's time to operate. Good luck, my dear. Sending thoughts your way for an easy procedure and quick healing.
from jamsjunction :
May health, happiness, and good times greet you & your family everyday of 2006! Happy New Year!
from moodymama :
that cling-to-the-hips crap that our husbands do gets on my nerves. i guess we should be grateful though, considering how other people's husbands behave. but no, i will continue complaining and bashing because i can! happy new year's! :)
from nacwolin :
Heehee, Mom got you, eh? Just throw it out if you don't like it. You can bring me one small slice if you want...okay, two, Parker likes it. But otherwise just ditch it. Crazy how you eat burnt food but not a good cheesecake - ha! And, besides, I plan to make a chocolate raspberry one this weekend, so we really don't need another cheesecake.
from jamsjunction :
Sponge Monkies? You mean those revolting things have an actual name? I had no idea. I thought they were some form of squished mouse.
from marlen816 :
I think he's been acting more like an *ss, but maybe that's just me =)
from aisling2005 :
I thought it was really sweet of him to go to the store for you. I don't think it made him sound like an ogre at all.
from passing-go :
No its not silly, but did you tell him you would like to shop so you could have some time alone, the time you deserately need?
from moodymama :
(((((((((((janie)))))))))) it's not silly at all.
from ingridwrites :
Oh yeah...the old duct taping the kids on Christmas vacation tradition. ;) Good luck!
from sunnflower :
Merry Christmas! I love A Christmas Story too. I watch it every year.
from batten :
Love you, babe. Can't wait to see you again and give you a hug in RL. Blessings to you and yours this Christmas. -J
from jamsjunction :
Merry Merry Christmas to you & your family!
from marlen816 :
Sorry, but when I have visions of Christmas things dancing in my head they are NOT zombies and Gremlins. You are weird! Love ya, mean it!
from moodymama :
janie, what a beautiful family you have. :)
from cleanstart :
Sorry for the disappointment! Hopefully everything will work out for you.
from ingridwrites :
What are they doing? Ablation? D & C? Looking for endo? I'll bet they are. The only way to diagnose endo is by seeing it. Good luck. I think the waiting turns out to be the hardest part!
from starlight42 :
That's hilarious, I can just hear the kids complaining! You have a beautiful family though. Happy Holidays!
from nacwolin :
Very nice picture. The boys won't let me dress them alike anymore...wonder how long S and A will allow you to? Oh, and will we get one of these in our Christmas card????
from jamsjunction :
Aww what a beautiful happy family you have.
from ingridwrites :
You do look happy! Merry Christmas, let's make some happy family memories, dammit! ;)
from passing-go :
You guys look awesome! Great picture.
from ingridwrites :
The ol' underwear in the freezer gag. We put hands in warm water. Does that ever really work? In our case the girl had a seizure. I wish I were joking. We felt awful for a very long time.
from final137 :
Indeed. Teenie boppers are my bane..
from starlight42 :
Oh, I have no idea what the title means though, it's very odd!
from starlight42 :
Happy belated birthday! You looked wonderful in that dress!! Good luck with the 11 year old girls. Oh, and I know it sounds weird, but I love that song you posted. Don't think of it as Christmasy, but for some reason I've always loved the song.
from moodymama :
oh, and Happy Belated Birthday!! :)
from moodymama :
wow, you look HOT. :)
from marlen816 :
Very girlie dress, girl. You look great. And Steve cleans up pretty well, too =)
from kittyladymd :
I'm a bit late, but Happy Belated Birthday. Love the dress too!
from jamsjunction :
You look beautiful, and Steve is so handsome. Thats a dancin' dress, so did you get your groove on to?
from twisted-mind :
Dang Janie you are HOT! Look at that flat tummy too! Happy belated birthday, you don't look a day over 21! :o)
from cleanstart :
You two look beautiful! Oh yeah, what's "Sand art jar Cheesy Potato Soup"...?
from zencelt :
I'm having some huge fibroid tumors removed, some of them have attached to other organs. I'm also having a big ole cyst removed form my left ovary and possibly getting some endometriosis cleaned up. Yay! The good thing is about a month after surgery, I'll be feeling a heck of a lot better and getting back to activity.
from marlen816 :
Love the new pic on your template. Where was that taken?
from pajamamama :
Happy Birthday, Janie!! Wow the big 3-0!! Enjoy your day! ~Linda
from katress :
Happy Birthday sweetie. I don't know, I've been 30 for 3 weeks now, and so far it's been okay. ;) Chin up! (((hugs)))
from tara10573 :
I think I need to have a good meltdown too, but that would require me to first find the time. And, that's NOT happening these days. How lucky are you - you could be having SNOW on your 30th birthday :-) About the diary, WHENEVER you have time I'll take a layout with a snowman or snowy scene. THANKS :-)
from twisted-mind :
Sometimes its good to have a melt down, its get all the toxins out. Or at least that's what I tell myself. ((((Janie))))

from cleanstart :
Thanks, I am just sooo not motivated. I hate the extra weight, HATE IT!! But, I still eat cheesegurgers? I have got to get motivated!! Sending motivation vibes your way too... although I think you look great just as you are!
from beltwaybelle :
That's amore!
from moodymama :
damn. shelby is STILL waiting on her period!
from babyontheway :
I would totally say you are right! And I love his name too! Did I ever tell you that people call my son Ben GER min. That irks me!!! Since when was there an R in Benjamin?
from bluebonnet :
I've always pronounced in my head as an "s" sound too. So maybe the majority is wrong :)
from aisling2005 :
s. defintly lala
from kestra :
When I see Josiah's name, I pronounce it with the 'S' too. That's just because I see an 'S', and unless I'm instructed to pronounce a word otherwise, I pronounce a word as it looks... so for an unknown word that isn't pronounced how it looks, somebody always laughs at me... but HEY, what the heck am I supposed to do? LOL So I did some research on the Internet. The first result said that people often mispronounced the name Josiah as Joshua, since Joshua is a more common name. That's even more of a mess-up than the Z thing though! Then I found another website that mentioned how to pronounce Josiah here. http://www.vibrantuniverse.com/renee_huynh.html It says, "Josiah (pronounced Joe-sigh'-uh) with the emphasis on "sigh" It looks to me like you're right too. Perhaps though, it's one of those things that can go either way. Do you know how many times I have people spell Aidan's name as "Aiden"? I thought at first maybe I picked an unusual spelling for a name, but I looked it up in the baby book, and indeed, "Aidan" is the usual spelling, and "Aiden" is just a variant of that name. Your situation just reminded me of that. :-)
from twisted-mind :
You pronounce it how I would too. I asked my husband and he said the same. Joe-SIGH-uh.
from jamsjunction :
I have always pronounced it Jo-sigh-uh in my mind...But I have heard it said Jo-Zigh-Uh.. I think whatever you and Josiah decide is perfect.
from babyontheway :
hehe...BNL=Bare Naked Ladies. I wasn't sure if anyone would pick up on it or not. BTW, congrats to V. for becoming a young woman. And you are NOT old...30 is the new 21 ya know!
from jamsjunction :
Awww, becoming a "woman" at such a young age. Congrats to you both. 30 isnt so bad, I promise. I'll really loving it.
from sunnflower :
Oh, hon! Hope you and yours are feeling better.
from nacwolin :
Nope, we're all voting for Matt here. Suzy's cute, but a little too whiny for us. :-)
from jamsjunction :
Get well soon, and dont spread your germies lol
from batten :
Honey, the last time I weighed 125 was almost 10 years ago... I think you look fine even though I haven't seen you in over a year. You have had kids and still have a bod most women would kill for. You have a beautiful family, a loving husband and a home. You are blessed. Count the blessing and love the person you see in the mirror every morning. We do. Big hug. -J

Soccer ends this weekend, well that is until Nov 29th or Dec 2nd and then C will play every Wednesday or Friday evening (5or6pm). Taylor is responding great to her medication, I just wish Aidan was so lucky. We're going to give it another month or so and if the seizures don't go away they we're going to try and a very invasive diet and see where that goes.
from xnavygrrl :
I didn't want you to think I was stalking you. I read your sister Marlin and she reads me. I just find your life to be fascinating!

from jamsjunction :
That just breaks my heart for them. I know what that pain feels like, and I'm glad that they have a great step in you to help them realize that not everyone is that way, and they are loved. ((HUGS))
from nacwolin :
Okay, that is a mental image I did not need.
from babyontheway :
Whats worse is a 4 yr old girl running around singing it...asking complete strangers"Whatcha gonna do with all that a$$"? I agree...it's a catchy beat!
from starlight42 :
I love dreams. Maybe it means you are facing your fears? And good for you for volunteering. I'm sure the teacher really appreciates any help. You'll do a great job.
from zencelt :
That's a great suggestion. I never thought about those. I wish I could fine something more formal to go under sweaters and stuff for work. Maybe I'll look in the men's department for that too : ))
from kestra :
That's a shame that you can't make it, but I totally understand! It's going to be crazy-busy for everybody this weekend. It sounds like the kids will have fun though. :-)
from opheliafic :
I'm glad you got through the MRI. When I had mine they put me in an open space. I hope your doctor has some news for you soon! I'm sure the home mom thing will turn out FINE!!! Hang in there.
from twisted-mind :
Yay you made it through the MRI! Hope the results come back soon. As far as the room mom... I was just saying yesterday how glad I was that I am NOT the room mom. ;o)

Chances are if she didn't have any volunteers before you spoke up she is not going to let you go now, no matter how bad you are =) ((Hugs)) You'll do fine. That which does not kill us makes us stronger. You survived the MRI, this too shall pass!
from babyontheway :
OMGoodness! You and I were going through the same exact thing today, just for different reasons...mine was because of my throid and metabolic stuff...as you were typing your entry, I was in the room getting it done. HUGS to you, I TOTALLY understand how you felt, cause I was feeling it too!!
from kestra :
It's funny that you don't realize you're scared of something until you actually go through it. I think that tells you that it's not just something that you're doing to yourself and it's a genuinely frightening situation! It sounds like you did a good job at handling it. I probably would have done something like that too - imagine I'm somewhere else. I hope your doctor figures out what's wrong soon. I agree about the insurance companies deciding whether something is "necessary" or "unnecessary." Why would a doctor order it otherwise, and how much schooling do the people making this judgment of necessity go through in comparison to the doctor?
from ingridwrites :
((hugs)) so glad you did well!! Hope you get some results soon!
from jamsjunction :
I'm glad its over for you. You did a fine job, dont beat yourself up over it. ((HUGS))
from opheliafic :
Best of luck! I'll keep you in my thoughts tomorrow!
from jamsjunction :
Best of luck tomorrow. Hope your come out with some answers. ((HUGS))
from ingridwrites :
It is boxish and loud. But I had to be rolled all the way in. The first time I was in it for approximately, oh, 45 seconds before I wigged out. I didn't know I was claustrophobic until then. The girl at the desk said that is how a lot of people find out. The second time I took the pill and it was so easy!
from opheliafic :
I hope they get things worked out for you soon! I can't believe your insurance company! Which one is it? Take some time and get it all checked out even if you're not bleeding. I'm still looking for a new regular doctor!
from ingridwrites :
Have you heard from the gyno? Ugh, I can't get an appointment with a 'good' one for WEEKS. Cripes! All my hair might turn gray by then!!!
from moodymama :
i forgot to tell you this about prednisone...i had to take it for about two weeks and it caused the worst mood swings ever. my sil has been taking it and she says it makes her feel agitated and damn near violent.
from moodymama :
they have support groups for EVERYTHING these days! :)
from kestra :
Well, I wasn't sure about returning to school at first too. I felt the same way that you did. Allyn insisted that I start off with three classes, but I ended up dropping one and just taking two. I thought that starting off small is the best way to go. It definitely was the most important part of returning to school and I'd recommend it to anyone who feels that school would be too difficult to handle. Gradually, I increased the number of classes that I take, so that I can eventually graduate sooner, but gradually my free time has entirely disappeared as well. It's like the frog being slowly boiled. :-P I'm kidding. Actually, I try to think of when I'm done, and I'm sure I'll be glad that I went through all the trouble and aggravation to do it. ;-) Another important point about writing: I go to google and write in key words related to my assignment. Most of the time I don't use their ideas... and if I do, I list them as a source, because yes, you are allowed to list internet sources. It really helps me because sometimes I stare at an assignment, my brain draws a complete BLANK, and I think, "There's NO WAY I can think of anything to write about this subject." Then I look up on the Internet about the subject and I find that I start coming up with more ideas. For example, if I were told to talk about how society imposes gender roles, I'd might read a website that talks about "boys toys" and "girls toys." I could expand on this idea by talking about activities for boys (football, wrestling) and activities for girls (hopscotch or jump rope). So yeah, it helps to get me started. Anyway, I just thought I'd pass along what I do so that you know it isn't impossible. And you know what? I'd like to say I was joking when I compare my memory to Dory, but I think my brain turned to mush with having kids too. Allyn would get so mad at me that I would lose my keys when I had them just two seconds ago. Honestly I set them down somewhere and I can't remember WHERE. That wasn't a one-time occurence. That happened to me almost every day! Sad, I know.
from moodymama :
i'll pray. :)
from ingridwrites :
They'll offer you something that will make you giggle. It makes you feel tipsy right away and for the MRI, that is a good thing. Mine went by so quickly, I was sure he wasn't even done. Good luck.
from jamsjunction :
You are so sweet! Really though, the poking, prodding, and feeling of being violated at every appointment, has just become the norm. They no longer ask me to drop my drawers, I start taking them off as I enter the room. I am so glad your doctor didnt hand you a script and send you on your way. A proactive doctor is a good doctor. I will keep you in my prayers. ((JANIE))
from ingridwrites :
((hugs)) Thank you!! ;) Next week is the 'search for the gyno'. Or so it should be called anyway ;) Hope you have luck with your insurance and your MRI. My own personal hint is to TAKE THE DRUGS they offer you before hand. Really. It makes the whole process go that much faster. I'm claustrophic though, so I have to take something, or I'd hyperventilate.
from zencelt :
What's up with us girls anyway? Your doctor sounds fabulous! I hope you find answers and prompt relief asap!
from sixweasels :
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! Hugs.
from marlen816 :
I like it when you whine. Makes me sound like less of a cry baby. ((Hugs)) Maybe we can catch up on the phone tomorrow. Noah has a picture appt. at 10 AM. Should be home after that =)
from twisted-mind :
Janie, you are so totally allowed to write those types of entries. Don't be so hard on yourself.
from twisted-mind :
((((Janie)))) Hope the day gets better. :o)
from jamsjunction :
Must be a coincidence. My RE's doesnt actually GET into the office until 10:30am...he is only there half days on wednesday & Thursday, and his office is closed Friday. Lunch is from 12-1:30..and its just a pita. But I've got it all worked out that I call and talk to the nurse first thing in the morning, and my call is returned by him, before he starts seeing patients. Good luck today!
from jamsjunction :
I'm glad that you have found a doctor you are comfortable with! And Hip Hip Hooray for not having to shed the clothing for your first appt! I'm glad he is being more thorough, before jumping to decisions. I'll keep you in my prayers!
from starlight42 :
First, I think you should write whatever you feel in this diary. However, I know that's tough with family reading- as my sister also reads my diary often. Maybe you could even start another private one for super personal stuff? Anyway, I've seen your pictures and I think you look beautiful! But, I know it's how you feel about yourself and how you feel you look. I've got some similar issues, and I never thought I was so negative about my body, until I started paying attention to what I said to myself when I looked in the mirror- or how I felt with what I saw!! So, I know it's an uphill battle, but I wish you luck. You've been able to handle so much in your life, I bet you can figure this out too! :)
from kestra :
You know, I am really shocked that you have body issues, as you put it, because you are one of the finer looking women that I know. How is it possible that you are insecure? But, I know it's more than just about what you actually look like. Take, for example, anybody I've met that likes to do nudism is considerably overweight, and you would think that they would be the LAST people who would want to expose themselves. Yet, they don't care about what others think their body looks like, which is why they can do nudism, so maybe that's why they don't obsess over losing weight either. Judging from that, being self-conscious about your body is not entirely related to how it actually looks and there's a significant psychological influence to it. I liked the fact that you were honest about how you feel. I think acknowledging our imperfections is a way of acknowleding that we are human, just like everyone else. I know that it must have been tough to do that, to just let go and say what you've been feeling for so long. I know it is for me, because I would rather people think that I'm perfect in every way. Oh well, I know I'll always fall short of that. ;-) I feel like I should write something that sounds totally wrong coming from me, but I'll attempt it anyway. God is the only perfect being out there and He loves you even when you're imperfect. Take heart from that!
from twisted-mind :
Honest is good, don't worry what others think. I still dig ya! :o)
from pajamamama :
Hi Janie! Good luck at the gyn appointment. I hope all is well! I feel the same exact way about my body. I've lost 22 pounds and I still feel like I'm huge and unattractive. I've moved to a new place - come check it out if you get a chance! http://www.myspace.com/midwestmom
from marlen816 :
Flag football, eh? Do they have a Turkey Bowl?
from moodymama :
honey, i'd eat roaches to have your body. :) i understand the body image issues, though.
from moodymama :
my girl and i love boca spicy chicken burgers. have you tried that one? good stuff.
from kittyladymd :
Sounds good...but I have to agree with you on the fat free cheese. THANKS but NO THANKS!
from aisling2005 :
i think i'll go make some choc chip cookies. lol.
from moodymama :
((((((((((((((((Janie))))))))))))))))
from sixweasels :
Hugs, Janie. I'm thinking of you, and your Mom Mom, and Nicole and Marlen too.
from twisted-mind :
I'm sorry about your Mom-Mom Janie. Treasure the time and spend a lot of it with her.
from starlight42 :
Glad to hear you got the cereal thing straightened out! That would have been upsetting if he was really that cheap...Also, so sorry to hear about mom-mom. :(
from kestra :
Aww, that's so sad abut Josiah. I don't have a formal "before-bed snack," but I tend to schedule dinner closer to bedtime so that it won't be necessary! Sometimes the kids start asking for things because they want to delay going to bed. Yet, I've had times where I knew the kid or kids would genuinely be hungry (for example, maybe they missed dinner due to sleeping or we had dinner earlier than normal) and my cure-all is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, instead of cereal. I would never, ever want to hear from my ex's house that the reason he wasn't fed while over there was because he couldn't afford it. That's the worst excuse I could think of, and he ought to be ashamed of himself for even saying that. A better excuse for not giving him cereal, and a more reasonable one, would have been to say that he misinterpreted him, thinking he wasn't genuinely hungry and was just delay, because it's a fine line to draw between genuinely hungry or delaying bedtime, if that's not part of your normal bedtime routine. But, he didn't say that. Instead, it sounds to me like he's trying to lay the child support guilt trip on the kids. And that just shows what kind of person he is. Doesn't it ever make you think, gee, I wish I hadn't left him way back when? He's such a great guy! ;-)
from kittyladymd :
The van sounds like something I would do for sure. Oh, and the picnic we are going to is on the 24th and not the 17th, but it sounds the same. We are making it an adults-only day though and leaving the kids at home for that day!
from moodymama :
you are so silly. :)~
from sunnflower :
I just loved your stolen van story. I think we've all done something like that. Modern life is just distracting.
from kestra :
Oh my gosh, I'm so relieved that your van wasn't stolen! You really had me going at first there. :) Even though forgetting about it is embarrassing, it's a much more desireable answer to the mystery. :)
from twoseasons :
ROFLMBO!! Old age, getting the best of you?? NO just kidding. ;-) Actually that sounds like something I'd do. Seriously. I think after giving birth to three children, you lose brain cells. Did any of the kids notice your panic?? LOL I can be so ditzy sometimes. THANK goodness you didn't call the police before you realized!!!! :-D
from kestra :
Those pictures were so cool! I know Bowen would have felt the same way Josiah did, and when I showed the pictures to Bowen, he said he wanted to go there. (Not sure that's possible, but cute all the same!) Sean is into the Star Wars stuff too, so I can just imagine if our kids were together - we'd might never hear the end of Star Wars talk. And, combining their Star Wars toys collection, and we could create another Star Wars heaven probably. :-P It was funny thinking about that at first, but now it sounds kind of scary! LOL
from kestra :
What is it that Josiah is holding? Is it a lunch box? Well, I can tell that it's Star Wars, and that's so cool! Bowen loves anything to do with Star Wars. I got him some new Star Wars shoes for school this past weekend, and anybody he sees, he has to say, "Do you see my new Star Wars shoes?" It doesn't matter if they're a complete stranger, hehe. I think it's kind of cute. :) Does Josiah like Star Wars too? I used to like Star Wars when I was a kid too. That's why I think it's funny that it's still popular today. :)
from twisted-mind :
My little guy starts kindergarten on Monday. I made husband take the day off because I know I'll be sad and lonely with out my shadow. Good luck on your day without your little man.
from babyontheway :
i cannot believe Josiah is going to start kindergarten! My goodness they grow up fast!
from bluebonnet :
I'm pretty regular and my period went for a whole month. Like you I got nervous, but more so tired of it, and made an appt. Nothing was wrong, just one wacky cycle.....Good luck!
from zencelt :
I just noticed the quote you have on your profile. Love it!
from zencelt :
I keep tellingmyself ot enjoy this single thing for as long as possible, because I may end up having to share not only ahome, but a bathroom with a big, ugly narcisist one day who will take up all the mirror time. LOL!
from starlight42 :
how great you found that picture cd!! as for your next entry, I hope you locate some real chocolate- like a twix bar- and that the dr figures out what's going on.
from babyontheway :
Hey! I just wanted to say that worrying will help nothing :o) There could be many rasons for a 3-wk long period...it could be as simple as a screwed up metabolism! I'll keep you in my prayers. You let me know if I can do anything for you! HUGS!!!
from moodymama :
your title on one of your entries...i will never look at sweet corn cakes again without thinking about janie's cervix being scraped. ha!
from tara10573 :
Now you've totally ruined sweet corn cakes for me - lol :-)
from moodymama :
i love the pictures. :)
from zencelt :
Oh yes. I am absolutely going to be at the Scottish day of the fest this year. I can scream at bugs, and see which kilted men come to remove them for me.
from kestra :
Wow! Those group pictures always amaze me. I wonder how you all can keep it together with so many kids! There isn't ever a point where they all run in opposite directions, right? LOL But seriously, I was coming to respond to your guestbook entry. What's funny about it is that I had brought up the same point before you said that, and said, "See! Now you know what the Christians go through!" LOL. It's terrible! I figure, no matter what the name of the religion, whatever they call it, the spirit is still the same, and I'll still always be Melody. Well, I'm not going to stress about it. :-)
from sixweasels :
Thank you for that entry. It is all one day at a time right now, and each day I'm feeling a little bit stronger. I can eat and write again, anyway, and that's a good start. Your pictures from your trip are great - you all look wonderful! Hugs.
from zencelt :
Welcome back! We missed you!
from untamedwings :
it's...au & revoir
from moodymama :
welcome back. :)
from sunnflower :
It love this simple template - so contemplative and calm. Sometimes it's just hard to keep up and I think you are right to just jump in where you are now.
from sixweasels :
Welcome back!
from twisted-mind :
Welcome back. Glad to knowyou are doing good.
from jamsjunction :
Welcome back! I've missed your updates.
from moodymama :
those were absolutely beautiful pictures. i've always wanted to see venice and i loved the switzerland (with the blue lake) pic too. you look so very happy. :)
from twisted-mind :
welcome back, great pictures!
from untamedwings :
OMGosh how amazing it looks! You both look adorably happy too!
from nacwolin :
Nice photos :-).
from kestra :
The pictures from Switzerland and the Swiss Alps look amazing!! I would love to know why you loved Germany best, because I've always thought how much I would love to travel Europe, but maybe just a specific part, because I don't think I'd have to guts to travel through ALL of Europe in one trip!! You and Steve look like you were really happy too, and I'm glad that you finally got to take a really nice honeymoon. :-)
from littledjblue :
I hope you have(had?) a great time in Europe, and I want to hear ALL about it.
from starlight42 :
It's always fun catching up with a diary when there's a good story, like your underware one. Boy, I would have been red faced too. Well, at least they were just plain white. Safe travels over in Europe, try not to worry, I'm sure you'll have a great time!
from batten :
God bless you, dear. Don't worry. Everything is going to be just fine and you're going to have an amazing and wonderful time. Big hug to you and let's try to get the MD girls together when you get back so you can tell us in person what it was like. Take lots of pictures. We'll keep you in our prayers. Love, -J
from kestra :
You sound just like me. "Boy I hope the plane doesn't crash!" Fortunately, I'm still here, and I'm sure you will be too. :) I thought I would stop by an internet cafe too, but I didn't. Besides, I was busy enough not to worry about it. Oh well, at least there's the best of intentions to the diary readers, right? :) Anyway, most importantly, have fun in Europe! :)
from jamsjunction :
Praying for a safe & enjoyable trip. Be safe, and have lots of fun!
from sixweasels :
Have a wonderful trip. I'll keep safe travels for you in my prayers. Can't wait to hear all your adventures!
from moodymama :
white panties, huh? lmao. you crack me up. hey...at least they weren't fuschia thong underwear. or crotchless ones. ha!
from bettyalready :
haha! my friend once went to a mall and had a pair of her underwear attached to the hood of her coat. Walked throughout the mall this way and didn't realize it until she got home.
from nacwolin :
Now that is funny - but you didn't tell us, regular panty or thong? Heehee.
from twisted-mind :
Janie, that is so funny. I'm sorry but that was the best part of my day. At least it wasnt any from the thong collection.
from aliboomboom :
That is weird. Why would they want all that?
from aliboomboom :
Well I'm gald that you like the earrings. And yes you defiantely need diamond studs. I wear pearls. I have had my ears pierced as long as I can remember. I imagine it'll be much easier for you to find earrings this way!! And it's way better than a tattoo, I have a feeling you'd come to regret the tattoo. I know I'm glad that I never got one!
from bluebonnet :
They are public record and I would let her get it on her own. I am surprised their lawyer hasn't already.
from babyontheway :
You're not stupid, your first instiinct is to help people when they ask for it, which is a good character trait, but I serriously wouldn't give them anything. You never know what sneaky stuff Mrs. X has up her sleeve....I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her, and I've seen her, I could throw her pretty far ;O)
from kestra :
Without a doubt, I wouldn't hand it over. They're being silly. Obviously they don't need it or else they would have given you a reason. And if I'm wrong, they can prove me wrong by giving a good reason. :-) That said, I like your excuse. "Steve won't let me." If you feel bad about how you'll look, then blame somebody else! LOL I don't even know why you worry about their opinion, but then sometimes, I ask myself the same question. Why would I care about someone's opinion? But just me personally, I would put it matter-of-factly and as simple as possible: Tell me why you'll need it, and if I find you have a good enough reason, I'll give it to you with a pretty bow on top, because I'm nice like that. See, you still appear nice then. :-) As for them, what a bunch of weirdos for wanting your itinerary and marriage license... Would they like photos of your bedroom while they're at?! Talk about obsessing over your life. You have an incredible amount of patience to deal with them so calmly, and I commend that ability. I don't know if I could manage talking to people like that without a smart comment or two. ;-)
from aliboomboom :
That's funny that she talked you into getting your ears pierced!! But it'll be good. Do you like them?
from bettyalready :
I have 3 holes per ear and just keep the same one's in day after day. I clean them and all. Neosporin on the posts is great too. I'm sensitive. If they get hurty, use the neosporin PLUS pain relief stuff. It's great. Even if you're not supposed to take them out yet.
from moodymama :
my good friend Chris just got back from Italy and she said it was breathtaking. i'm so jealous. she also said that europeans really can't stand americans but they seem to think that hawaii is another country, so hawaii natives are cool. isn't that funny? (my friend is from hawaii so they were nice to her)
from moodymama :
i hope you get a new comp soon. :)
from bettyalready :
HEY did you get your hamster a Run-About ball? I want a hamster too! I had one named Gus about 10 years ago. He loved yogurt drops. Dear lord! They have SO much fun stuff for hamsters now. Check THIS OUT! http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441779182&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302026361&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023695&bmUID=1116116560022

Hope you had a great mother's day!
from mathero :
Happy Belated Mother's Day!! Hope you had a wonderful day. =)
from bluebonnet :
Happy Mother's Day!!
from bettyalready :
ack! yet another meme thing to steal!
from mathero :
I have locked my diary so if you'd like the user info just email me @ [email protected]!
from moodymama :
my mom LOVED The Purpose Driven Life. so much that she sent me a copy. not hers, of course. :)
from aliboomboom :
Kids are too funny, even when they are teenagers. I like a smooth chest. My mom says that a woman wouldn't have a man with a smooth chest back in her day but I find it ridiculously appealing. Smooth and tight, wonderful. My dad and brother are hairy though so I have a feeling Griffin will be as well. Ew. Anyways if you want into my diary, email me at [email protected] and I'll gladly give you the new information.
from moodymama :
Mini-van Velma and The Hottie Kids with Hairy Backs. You should write a children's book with that title! :)~~
from sonshinegirl :
that should have said THIN...where did my H go?
from sonshinegirl :
velma? you're a bit tin for a velma look-a-like, but you could probably do a "velma after weight watchers" commercial! (but you would definitely need the orange sweater!
from untamedwings :
I love your glasses on you! They look great! I think you handled the whole X wedding situation with a lot more class than I probably would have, Hugs.
from katress :
I LOVE YOUR GLASSES! They are so cute, and so very Janie. :)
from babyontheway :
Now, why did you let those two kids get into your head like that?? You don't look like Velma. I actually really like the glasses alot. They really compliment you. And I really like what you're doing with your hair too!! Kids, SHEESH!
from bluebonnet :
I love your glasses!
from twisted-mind :
Oh I really like them. No Velma, but hottie momma!
from aliboomboom :
I think that you look cute!!
from aliboomboom :
Velma was kind of hot, don't you think? She was always the one that figured everything iout for everyone else so that was definately hot. I'm sure the glasses are fine!!
from kittyladymd :
I agree...post a photo! I MUST see Velma! Oh, and I'm sorry the house thing didn't work out as well.
from nacwolin :
So now you have baited everyone. Post a pic and get it over with :-P.
from sixweasels :
I can't imagine you looking like Velma! I'm overdue for new glasses too.
from twisted-mind :
How neat, take a picture please. :o)
from starlight42 :
I think all the work you guys did on your current house turned out great- now you'll get to enjoy it a bit longer.
from aliboomboom :
It sucks about the house but at least you found out now, right? I'm sure your dream home will come along. As for B, I don't know what happened. I guess he just stopped liking me. Stranger things have happened, right?
from untamedwings :
It's Tania...did you get the PW from Mar? Hugs.
from starlight42 :
I had the same feeling when we went to a B&B last year. Kind of odd knowing you're in someone's HOME. It was a great time though...definitely would do it again- the food was to die for!
from pashiesplace :
I'm locking up. Email me if you'd like the PW :)
from twisted-mind :
Happy Anniversary!!
from nmnohr :
BEAUTIFUL house! That's so exciting, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. And Happy Anniversary, I hope you have a wonderful weekend away.....
from nacwolin :
No big surprise that there is a general lack of communication in this family. Kitchen, attic, bedroom...any one is a recipe for heaps more chaos than already exists. And, like I said, we've got it covered.
from pajamamama :
What a beautiful house and what a great arrangement! I hope it all works out. I love the idea of having parents in-house to help out! Oh and Designed to Sell RULES!!
from kittyladymd :
Wow, congrats and I hope the house thing works out. Seems like with all that land if your parents really wanted they could just build their OWN house somewhere on it later. Good luck getting it all together and selling both houses!
from aliboomboom :
The house is beautiful and having that big a yard is perfect for the children!! It might be nice to live with your parents, it'll give you a babysitter if you need to run somewhere and it will be nice for you guys to be able to help them as they get older. I think it'll be great! Good luck on the house and moving, I hate moving. I can only imagine how it is with 5 kids!!
from jamsjunction :
I dont know if you have tried this, but I remove wallpaper & borders with either a cap of Downy& a quart of water, or a vinegar/water mixture. I just score the paper, and spray it, let it soak in. By the time you get finished spraying all of the paper, it should be ready to come off. Some older wallpapers may take a bit of elbow grease to get the glue off. Good Luck, hope your hubby has better luck!
from bettyalready :
Um hello! You're skinny and pretty and she should feel weird having someone else raise her kids. The kids are actually very lucky someone else is raising them.
from aliboomboom :
I thought you were a little young to have five kids but then I thought what the hell do I Know? How was the meeting? Do you like her? Was it awkward? I totally see your point with making the blended family work better. If his kids were back and forth all the time then it wouldn't feel as much like a family unit. I think that's part of what made the Brady Bunch work out so well, don't you? :)
from ingridwrites :
Good luck! And, remember, as Lei says, it is going to be a SUPER day! ;)
from oct2005 :
I'll be praying for you today, for a good meeting and for the kids. It has got to be tough on them for her to be in/out like that. This is aisling, lol. Just realized im logged in on a different name.
from aliboomboom :
Oh I didn't know that the kids were not biologically yours. Wow, it must be hard to meet her. You'll be in my thoughts today! Good luck.
from twisted-mind :
Good luck dollface. You'll do fine.
from aliboomboom :
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about 26. I think I'll be fine with 30 especially if my life is all settled like yours by then!! I just want to settle down, meet MR. Right, and get married. Gosh, I sound old even.
from babyontheway :
I liked one of your answers about Steve. I married the nice guy too, and I am so thankful everyday for the fact that I did. We are both lucky gals!
from aliboomboom :
Gosh, I wish I was treadmill obsessed. I can barely get my ass out of bed much less onto the treadmill.Keep it up, you'll see results soon!
from nacwolin :
If you are really going to start running regularly (shoot, even if you are just walking a lot), you need to purchase a good pair of running shoes. You should go to a running gear store (do a search at runnersworld.com). A good place will have you run so they can see if you have any pronation, etc. Once you know what type of shoe you need, they can help you pick the perfect one. I have to have a stability shoe, so I have to spend about $100 a pop (my preference is the Adidas Supernova). But if you don't, you could probably go with an Asics Gel or something similar from Kohl's for between $40-70 (even less if you happen on some on the clearance rack). Also, remember, that you are probably in a muscle building phase at this point. I've been getting on the 'mill pretty regularly for almost 3 months now, and I have only lost a few inches and ten lbs. You'll need to incorporate toning exercises into your routine (try getting some resistance bands and one of those big balls).
from sunnflower :
I saw Hootie and the Blowfish in concert last summer and they were really good. I kind of like that stupid commercial for some reason but what's with that burger king guy? Really strange.
from aliboomboom :
Hi. I am a new reader. I love the pictures you posted of your kids, they are all so beautiful. I am a single mom of one and your diary really gives me hope. I think it just goes to show that you will end up with your soul mate at some point in time no matter what mistakes you make on your way or at least that is what your diary makes me think. I'll definately be back to read more. I'm locked but if you want to read my diary, the username is alexia and the password is 07gcr10. I just don't think it's fair to read yours without giving you the option to read mine. Have a great day!
from manda-d :
My ex doesn't feel like my kids need to bathe when they are with him!!! It makes me SO mad I could just scream.
from littledjblue :
Incredibly enough, YES. Which is surprising considering there was nothing until well after 1, if not even later. Oh well, I am NOT complaining. I sure hope it works for tomorrow, or at least a delay, since I have a test!
from bettyalready :
You need a SPA day!
from littledjblue :
i just hope this snow actually closes my school this time. my sister got a 4-day weekend, but all the community colleges stayed open because they're dumb.
from starlight42 :
Let me know where I can get all those free trips too!! (sarcasm) Hope the lawyers can do something.
from jamsjunction :
I have been doing freebies online for about six years now, and in that six years, I havent EVER seen a free trip, that didnt have strings attatched. Are they doing Time Share trips? I have gotten many a nice freebies, but goodness, if you find out where shes finding free trips, let me know, I am in! I agree, I think they are playing you, and its time to see your attorney. This must be so hard for you! ((HUGS))
from manda-d :
You let him claim the kids? Oh no :(
from twisted-mind :
A day without a computer?! I hope it passes quickly for you. :o)
from kestra :
Watching NASCAR is better than watching wrestling! See, I can always think positively. Besides, I have tons of little cars here, I have to love cars, you know, or else I wouldn't be able to deal with it! Okay, so I bought 9/10th of them, so what am I talking about DEALING with it... but I'll have to admit, I'm not too technical about it, I was just saying I wouldn't mind. Anyway, that stinks that the house they're trying to sell is falling apart so badly. My grandmother's house was like that, and the next-door neighbor bought it from her... It should have been torn down, but instead he decided to re-do it piece by piece. Not sure that he saved himself any work that way, though, but that guy loves building. Oh well, I think it's kind of nice that he did that, though. My grandmother lived there since forever, and I forget, she told me that they bought it from the mayor or governor, and it was just their summer home at the time (it wasn't meant to be a full-time home) and at the time she got it for really cheap... and the place used to be in the middle of nowhere, called Pasadena... haha, Pasadena has been so developed over the past decade that it's hard to believe that it used to be all country! But by the time she sold the place, the prices in that area for housing had skyrocketed. The worth of the land without the house was worth more than when she bought the house. Wait, the problem with this leaving a note business is that there's nobody to tell me shut up Melody you're rambling on and on and we've already fallen asleep!! Sorry about that. :)
from findmeagain :
She's doing great so far :) She's a pedigree Devon Rex - I've never had a 'special' cat before, lol, one with papers and all that. Heh, be jealous, woman! I'm just kidding :) I'm still amazed that we got her, even with her being 10 years old, she's in excellent health so I hope we have many years to spend with her. Gah, listen to me, I'm such a cat person, lol. Hugs :)
from jamsjunction :
I love farm houses..When I was growing up, I always wanted to marry either a farmer and love on a huge farm in a old farm house or pastor..umm That didnt quite work out, but hey thats perfectly ok with me! I love the red shutters.
from twoseasons :
Hey! Thanks for the note on my GB. Yes, since it was on BGE's end, we owe nothing... Other than $20 to Lee's uncle for rigging the circuit box to work on one line until BGE fixed the meter. (yes he is trained in electrical stuff, for lack of a better word, lol).
from kittyladymd :
Can't wait to hear about the house!
from babyontheway :
OMGOSH! I have a HUGE crush on Zach B. I watch scrubs all the time, even if it's a repeat I've seen three times...I even watched Garden State a couple times, even though I didn't really like the movie all that much. I guess I'm trying to say, YES, I'm interested!!!
from findmeagain :
I know you're not ignoring me :) I've been keeping up with you, lol, I know you've been busy. The 'J~' in the entry wasn't you - it's someone I've known for awhile and I'm beginning to think the reason they're ignoring me is because I'm back with Brandon. Oh well, not much I can do about that. Hope things calm down for you soon, hon :) Hugs.
from kittyladymd :
I love that quote from Garden State that you have on your page. I agree with the low blood sugar thing. I've mentioned it to daycare before, and even Nico's ped (who told me it wasn't worth it to have him tested for blood sugar issues...just feed him more often!). I know I'm cranky when I'm hungry too!
from smags01 :
I solved the picky eater problem real early on. You ate it now or you ate it cold every next meal until it was gone. My daughter only had one cold fish meal to change her mind on being so picky. My husband still laughs to this day at how I called her bluff.

from babyontheway :
Happy 5th Birthday to Josiah! I hope you and him have a good time together , and I'm glad too that you get to spend time with your baby on his b-day!!
from flutterbees :
It is such a shame that as a society, we can't SAY anything or DO anything anymore, without offending someone! That bear is adorable, and it's just insane (no pun intended) that they were made to stop selling it. What's next? Perhaps we need to not let our kids eat coco-puffs because that cute commercial is coocoo for coco puffs...sheesh.
from mamaness :
It's kinda cute, actually. I'm not on medication though. I probly should be. LOL
from nmnohr :
I actually think it was pretty creative. It didn't offend me at all, but I also have no diagnosed mental illness. I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I thought it was kind of cute!
from wifemotherme :
I was just about to write a strongly worded letter to the company over this very issue. A few years ago a perfume was pulled because it was named "Manic". The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill had a fit. Let me assure you that crazy people have a whole lot more to worry about than perfume and teddy bears. This is such silly nonsense. The bear is adorable and I hate that I cant afford one! This is not different than buying a bear for a nurse that is dressed in a nursing uniform, even crazy people need a teddy bear they can relate to :) I think the people over at NAMI are truly in need of some medication.
from gypsy-poet :
I thought it was cute. I didn't think it was making fun of those with mental isues, I thought it was a novel idea for a valentines gift... unfortunately we are so worried about being PC as a society that we can't see things for what they are meant to be... sad if you think about it
from kittyladymd :
I think it's cute, but I also don't have any kid of mental illness...or at least nothing that's been documented anywhere. I'm pretty sure my husband would disagree with me on my declaration of lack of mental illness though. I think as a country sometimes we really are going too far on the whole politically correct thing though!
from twisted-mind :
I take meds and it doesnt bother me.
from babyontheway :
I think it's cute!!! BUT, since I am not on any mentally stabilizng drugs and such, I do not find any offense to it. I can, though, understand why someone might be self conscious about themselves having to take meds, and then in turn finding the crazy bear offensive. I think he's cute! I'd like one!!
from marlen816 :
So, did your sore legs remind you that you needed to clean your room and what exactly is the connection there? =)
from nmnohr :
Well it's a relief to know that it's not just my child that can be such a royal pain in the ass sometimes! I could have one of everything in the house, and she'd still say "mom there's nothing in the house that I like to eat." We're going grocery shopping tonight, that outta be interesting!
from kittyladymd :
Somehow, I have a feeling that I will have the same issues with my girl in a few more years with regards to the pickiness. She already insists on picking out her own clothes and was VERY upset this morning when I insisted on turning her shirt around so the tag was no longer in the front. When I found one of her socks was also on inside out, I didn't even bother to fix it. I'm sure her teachers probably will think there's something wrong with me! She is already picky about some of the food things, so I'm imagining it's only going to get worse. Thanks for letting me know what to expect! :)
from findmeagain :
Me too with the cheesy sauce! The cheaper the better :D
from msguided :
me too with the cheese! Hehe. I used to purposely add too much milk so I could have it all to myself. ;)
from mamaness :
aww thanks. everyone needs to feel special every once in awhile.
from littledjblue :
Hey, sorry your day isn't going so well. I hope it gets better, stat!
from kestra :
Hi Janie! I'm sorry about locking my diary. I don't know if you read all my entries, but I posted about planning to do it a few days ago. http://kestra.diaryland.com/012705.html It's nothing personal, I just wanted to have the ability to know who would be or who would not be reading my diary (anybody I didn't send the password to). I asked for anybody to message me that *wanted* the password, but I only received a few responses. I figured since there had to be more people out there, who just didn't get around to responding but still wanted to read, maybe they would remember the old username and password, so that's why I left it like that. I'm glad to hear you remembered it! I hope you weren't offended either. :-) Also, I did post a link to a picture of the dress a couple weeks ago here. http://kestra.diaryland.com/011305.html However, I haven't gotten a chance to post a picture of myself in the dress, though. There aren't any traditions against that, are there?
from kestra :
"Daddy's chick" was a joke right? If it wasn't, I'd make sure what kind of smoke you're smelling over there. That's crazy! LOL The whole "real mom" and "fake mom" thing sounds pretty normal to me. I would just encourage them to use the REAL terms - which are mommy, mom, or in my kids case, momma... and then for step-mom, they can either refer to them as their step-mom or by their name as they would expect any other child to call them... I wonder if she asks other kids in the neighborhood to call her "daddy's chick," because I wouldn't think so! But isn't it fun when people make it so easy for you to tease them - you don't even have to say anything? ;-)
from kittyladymd :
Oh my gosh...so is she in high school or what? JUST....TOO....MUCH!
from findmeagain :
Thank you, thank you, thank you :) Things are going well! I am still nervous about finding out about the job tomorrow but what can I do? I've decided to not worry myself sick over it, lol. And the 'Daddy's chick'...ohmygawd..that is priceless!
from ray0flight :
HAAAAAAAAAAhaha. The more I hear about "Daddy" and "his chick" the nuttier I think they are!
from pashiesplace :
ROTFL! Now there's a position of prominence..."Daddy's Chick"! Wow she is lost now isn't she!
from mamaness :
All i have to say is ohhhhhhmygosh
from starlight42 :
Awe- I just read about your tubbing accident. I hope you are feeling better soon & free of neck & head pains! Also- I love what you did with your bathroom, very nice!
from littledjblue :
Ahh, so he went to church with Ryan! Ryan's really nice. Did he go to church with the drummer, Matt, too? I thought for some reason they went to the same church, although I could be wrong. Also: I TOTALLY AGREE ABOUT THE COLDNESS. Since when is Maryland allowed to be so cold?!
from littledjblue :
Which member did you go to church with? I go to church with the bassist, he is one of my elders. I am a huge fan of the band and know them all. Wow, this is a really really small world indeed!
from nmnohr :
I hope your head is feeling better. I can't believe that! Damn hill! Your bathroom is beautiful. I absolutely love green......my favorite color!!!!!!
from kittyladymd :
I just KNEW it and of course I know that hill very well...my parents are members there. Although I've never been sledding there, I can only imagine how fast you were going. I wish we had someplace like that around HERE to go sledding...our driveway really isn't much fun for the kids.
from kittyladymd :
So tell me...was that at Haw------ County Club that you did that damage? I hope you are feeling better soon!
from jamsjunction :

from manda-d :
I think it's great. How do you get the tape straight when you are painting the stripes?
from bettyalready :
I really like the bathroom!!!
from msguided :
Yay for snow days!! Especially QUIET snow days.
from jamsjunction :
None of the pictures were real close to my home, but they werent far either. They are of the river behind my house. A few of them were of the big town south of me, and a few of the small town north of me. Driving to either of these towns has turned into an obsticle course, roads are closed everywhere, and levys are broken, or washed away. Roads have just disappeared under the strong current. I've never seen anything like this before, its so jaw dropping and sad. In the big town south of us, several people had to be rescued in the middle of the night last night, when a major levy broke, and put them in extreme danger. I live in a very small town, population 500, counting livestock lol, so to get anything of necessity, I have to go to either towns..Its just a nightmare, but so far, we are safe, and the levys near us, seem to be holding strong. Sorry for the confusion.
from jamsjunction :
Very nice bathroom. I really love those greens...its makes the avocado look less, avocadoish, and more like sage.
from mamaness :
lve the stripes
from myexodus :
Did a great job on the painting. I'm too impatient to tape off and such...good that Dawn likes painting or it just wouldn't happen around here. What is this JavaJanie thing?
from smags01 :
Janie - I don't leave a note very often, but I do read your diary each time you update it. The lip smacking children is a hoot. Hard to believe that these kids can and will grow up and actually be polite and respectful. But it does happen, surprisingly. One day you'll look at them and think, wow! They turned out okay.
from jamsjunction :
Good Luck! I hope your offer is accepted and your packing boxes soon!
from jamsjunction :
You mean my husband & I arent the only couple that can never decide where to eat when we eat out? Nice house..and I bet you could make a fortune off that lime green shag carpet, if you take it up gently..All that stuff from the 70's is coming back in style it seems..WHY I have no idea. No desire here to have Harvest gold appliences, or any form of shag carpet myself.
from manda-d :
I think the house is beautiful! Go for it!
from bluecharis :
Looks like a REALLY nice house to me... would make a great home, too! Love, Charis :-))
from gypsy-poet :
Beautiful house!!! Lime green carpet can always be replaced...
from batten :
Lime green shag is totally retro-chic... y'know!!!
from findmeagain :
Lol, my kids eat ketchup on EVERYthing. And it doesn't matter to them if it's the cheap stuff or not. As for Connor, he'd eat ketchup on fruit if I'd let him. EWWW.
from kittyladymd :
Good for you on standing your ground with him. I still can't get over his actions over the last year. I hope you finally get from him what the kids deserve as far as the money goes without too many more battles and ugliness.
from starlight42 :
That's funny- don't feel bad, you should see my nails! It's not my fault they chip so fast though...lol
from jamsjunction :
Would building onto your exsisting home be an option, instead of starting all over. Like you said, the money you have put into your home helped the value, maybe an addition would be even better, and then you wouldnt need to move, you'd have plenty of space.
from myexodus :
Life is full of choices and this is the consequence of his choice. Let him waa waa like a baby....glad to see some spunk happening. It feels good to let it spew somewhere, eh? 3 updates!!!
from corajoy :
Oh, Janie- Isn't it interesting what ugly colors come out when someone shows what's on the inside? I've been reading your diary since before he left you, hon, and all I can say is GO YOU! I'm SO sorry you have to deal with such a creep- and that your kids are influenced by him. Trust me, the truth will win out, and they will understand. DOn't forget to give Steve and extra big hug for being him. I do for my husband all the time, after my ex, and mine's nowhere near as bad as yours! Joy
from gypsy-poet :
you know all I have to say is this... F*ck him and feed him hot sauce. He needs to have some personal responsibility for his own actions, actions that have put him where he is today. This is not about you, it is about his short-comings as a father, and as a man.
from batten :
YAY! You go, woman! I'm proud of you. Praying for you. Big hug -J
from kestra :
I never really understood the point of staying home when there are no children to take of. It would drive me insane, nothing to do, except clean up. I guess it's okay if your hubby makes lots of money, and the extra money would be superflous, so working to make money also becomes pointless... but I don't know, I think it would be dangerous to have lots of money, and nothing to do as well - who knows what interests people will take up. :) Yeah, I got told I was being greedy for going to the state and asking for every penny that was calculated by the state of Maryland... and I'm sure it seems that way to him. It's hard for a lot of guys to realize that the child support money may be written out to the mom, but that's because the mom has to control the spending for the kids' expenses. I try to be understanding, and I try to be nice, but on some people, it's wasted. All they want to do is to take advantage of that niceness. And when you put your foot down on something that is important for your children, and he does all that whining and sniveling, he looks all the more a fool to you and a jerk to his children. Also, I was rather surprised that he tried to use every form of manipulation he knew that would work best for you... Has he no shame at all?? I'm still chuckling over the plastic surgery reference. Silly man. He should use some of that extra money to get a brain transplant! There, I said it nicely. :-)
from revmetalhead :
You GO! You are not fruitcake! Proud of you! Woohooo!
from babyontheway :
Good Job, Janie! I am very proud of the way you are really sticking with what you believe and going after it. Your kids really are the most important thing here. It's bad enough he doesn't even really spend the time with his kids that he should, and now he isn't willing to help pay for them either. I think he is acting as though he doesn't want to be a father at all. It's disgraceful. I will pray for your children and your situation. I certainly hope thier father comes to his senses. I know what it's like having a dad who doesn't really care unless it affects him. Not exactly what your kids deserve, and I am grateful for them that they at least have Steve around as a male figure who takes responsibility for himself. He will teach them alot!! HUGS!
from pashiesplace :
It takes a very strong woman NOT to swing back verbally. I admire that in you. I really hate when things become so ugly between people that used to love one another. My friend is in a similar situation- hubby left her and 3 kids to be with someone 20 YEARS OLDER than he...he was father of the year now she is left with everything on her plate. Suddenly paying for his children is a horrible thing to him. Stick to your guns. You have your kids best interests right where they should be- first in your life. Hugs.
from msguided :
You are a strong woman! Your children are lucky to have you as their mom! ;) Good luck with the child support/ex issues. Don't let him bully you with his threats. So he quits his job? Then he'll have no money. His fiancee has to work? Yeah...like everyone else in America. Welcome to the real world, buddy. Jeez. You keep doing the right thing for you and the kids!
from smags01 :
Janie - the real you is just fine. I've read some of our older entries and they are the reality of your life. Don't worry what the rest of us think.
from jamsjunction :
Sorry to hear that your ex-husband is being less then steller. I hope he shapes up soon, and reallizes he's hurting nobody but his precious children. Hope things settle down soon. ((HUGS))
from kestra :
I've heard of child support being so high that someone couldn't pay the bills, but like you said, it doesn't make sense since he's not paying the child support lately... Shouldn't that mean he has the money for the bills then? Doesn't he live with somebody else who could help pay the bills too? I can't remember for sure what the living situation was. Anyway, I was so surprised to read that he was telling the children these things. If it were me, I'd be seriously reconsidering sending the kids over there if he can't even afford to keep livable conditions over there, and if the child support really is too high, he could go back to court to get it re-adjusted too... All the complaining to you in the world won't make a court-ordered reduction in child support appear. It's not like you would bother to make the filing for him, and nor should you be expected to, because that's his responsibility now.
from bettyalready :
Hey there, I sent a gmail invite to your janie12975@***hotmail.com account. If you didn't get it, it may have gone into a SPAM folder or something...but you may have gotten it already too. I was just thinking here and overanalyzing because I have nothing better to do than pace, overanalyze and stuff like that.
from wifemotherme :
Janie please stand your ground here. Also I would highly suggest you let the courts take over. I have fought with my ex for 14 years. Over and over and over because I was trying to "be nice" and he yelled and threated to quit his job. Here i sit with a child who never got braces, he is 2 months behind on child support (which he dropped down to only playing 100 a month) and I cant even reach him becuase he is on a three week trip to FL.. not to see her mind you. Dont be bullied.
from nacwolin :
Thought of something else. Next time, why not wait till he comes to get the kids and tell him. Then if he throws a fit, the kids can see what a jerk he is being....? I can see pros and cons in that, but at least they could see YOU and Steve being calm and kind, with no resulting he-said, she-said.
from nacwolin :
Standing your ground like that was the right thing to do. All his threats - control tactics. Hang tight.
from kestra :
It sounds like it didn't go as well as it could have. It's so difficult asking for money. I'm not saying because you don't think you deserve it, but because the other person doesn't want to pay it! That's why I feel it's so much better to have filed through the state, because now I don't have to deal with any of those kinds of arguments again. Of course the initial filing lead to a lot of yelling, but he got over it eventually. No, maybe he still resents that, I don't know. But it's out of my hair now at least.
from babyontheway :
Good for you sweetie! Now go out and get yourself some chocolate to celebrate the fact that you took control of the matter. You know, if he DOES quit his job, he has to find another and start paying again within 3 months or face jailtime...mention that to him the next time he threatens. I'm proud of you for sticking to your guns and not letting him railroad you. Your kids are most important, and he really needs to see that. HUGS!!!
from jamsjunction :
Praying for you!
from batten :
Be strong. You're above him. Praying for you. You're in God's hands and He is good. Big hug. -J

Yeah, yeah, and I was the tomboy when I was a kid too! But I had a baby - no two babies - before my sister, my sister who always had a baby doll with her and wanted to start a family, and me who said that I didn't like boys and never wanted to have a family. So much for that, right! It's good that you're being attentive, though!

Getting my mullet trimmed before Christmas, will be late in sending you a family christmas card. =]
from jamsjunction :
I thought you said you were going to "get the kids put away" not get the kids TO put away..I was thinking to myself..hmm is she going to fold them up and put them in the dresser? LMAO
from katress :

from smags01 :
Loved hearing about the snow day. Cabin fever comes (unfortunately) quickly on a day like this.
from babyontheway :
I would love to see that picture!! A homemade Cabbage Patch Doll??
from smags01 :
Thanks for the laughter! I enjoyed the pics of the fireplace. A lot of work, but very worth while. And when the child starts paying for stuff from their own pocket, it's amazing how much more careful they are about keeping track of their stuff. That's still a ways off for you, but it will at some point resolve itself.
from starlight42 :
Sorry I missed your 29th bday- I didn't realize we were the same age! The fireplace room looks great!! I also loved those pics of the christmas decorations- I need to take some pics of one of my neighbors. Happy Holidays!

from katress :
Oh barf, that is Christmas overkill! And to leave it up all year??? What is he THINKING?
from revmetalhead :
Oh the resale value afforded your neigbors. I think I would do some remodeling Sodom and Gomorrah style....
from kittyladymd :
I'm sure I could find some much better displays for you to view in Southern Maryland. How familiar are you with the LaPlata area? How about Indian Head?
from jamsjunction :
My word, that house is scary! I wouldnt want to be his immediate neighbor either. Times like that, make you wish you had a home owners association to put some limits on the tacky stuff! Glad you found the coat!
from manda-d :
This morning when my son was heading out the door, we had one red glove, one white glove, one black glove, and two purple gloves which he refused to wear. Sigh. Your kids aren't the only ones...
from kittyladymd :
The room looks great. I love that feeling when you complete a project like that and have a nice new room to relax in and enjoy!
from nacwolin :
The room looks nice; good job.
from sunnflower :
Thanks for your kind note about my mom. It's hard to believe she had a stoke but indeed she did. She's back home and my dad is fussing over her. I really liked your before/after photos of your fireplace room.
from ray0flight :
Great job! Looks fantastic.
from jamsjunction :
It looks ohh so comfy & cozy! I see the candle sticks and clock made it back in there..I thought you were going to hide those..Job well done!
from aiken4clay :
The room looks great! I especially love the window treatment. It's so elegant!
from bettyalready :
Yea!! That's so nice and it's all done before christmas!
from msguided :
That room is so gorgeous!! I bet you just want to cuddle up in there all the time now!
from pashiesplace :
Happy Birthday! Now i'm only FIVE years older than you **faints**. I think 30 was my fav b-day, actually my 30's are far better than my 20's were. Hopefully next year you can say the same.I also love Pier 1 stuff. Blue glass is a fav & they always have tons! Hope you had a great night. Hugs.
from kittyladymd :
Happy belated birthday. Sounds like you had a wonderful day!
from jamsjunction :
Happy Happy 29th Birthday Janie! I hope its filled with wonderful memories that last a lifetime. I only have 6.5 months left of my 20's..and I cant wait to be 30.
from nmnohr :
Happy Birthday! Awesome entry, live every day to the fullest, no matter what the age!
from corajoy :
Happy birthday! You're absolutely right, you know. . .You're only getting started! Joy
from aiken4clay :
I hope you have a wonderful birthday (and year!) Good for you for wanting to live it up! You go girl! ~Linda
from jamsjunction :
I love your family picture. The kids are all so adorable! Try http://www.tickerfactory.com/ for a ticker maybe...
from findmeagain :
Heh. Just wait til you hear what he did last night. So pitiful he was and yet I can't bring myself to care all that much. You were right too..it's absolutely killing him to see me doing well without him..and the fact that I have someone new in my life. Oh well, lol. Thank you for the notes, hon :) You've done wonders for keeping my smile in place. Hugs:)
from pashiesplace :
What a gorgeous family!
from aiken4clay :
Compared to some of my kids' pictures, all those smiles look perfect to me! What a great looking family!
from nmnohr :
That is quite possibly one of the sweetest notes ever. And quite creative!
from jamsjunction :
Awwwww...those kinds of mushy love notes, totally makes up for the scary clock and candle sticks. Ohh and, I see nothing wrong with the top of your fridge. Happy "We Met A Year Ago Today" Anniversary.
from pashiesplace :
Awww how sweet! I get the feeling you & Steve are one of those couples that make onlookers say"Awww". Hugs.
from mamaness :
Yeah he does!! Happy meet-a-versary to you both :)
from katress :
The top of your fridge is much nicer than mine - it has a fire extinguisher, some diet coke, some regular coke and a little dust!!! LOL I like your idea better, his is just plain scary. ;)
from moodymama :
please tell me you don't make those poor children watch the wiggly xmas dvd. please tell me you don't actually enjoy it. you like it, don't you?! ::runs off screaming and pulling out hair::
from wifemotherme :
Your hubbys entry cracked me up! Ok does noting you about his entry count as a note for him or for you?
from manda-d :
Your hubby's entry was a RIOT! Gotta give him props, sorry. :-)
from mamaness :
Love your fridge clutter. How home-like. I need to get that CD. Yay wiggles.
from ray0flight :
To be honest, I wouldn't want those things in my house either :)
from aiken4clay :
Thanks for your note! I'm glad I was gone election week - I saw some of the venomous behavior here at dland and I was appalled! I would never dissolve a friendhsip based on political beliefs, but I guess some people do! By the way... I'm LOL about Steve's latest diary entry! Hehehe...
from mamaness :
I wouldn't put them in my house. I am VERY picky though. My mil has given me things that I use for awhile then quickly get out of here.
from starlight42 :
I think those are sweet! But, you've also got to have the house to pull it off, or the room in where they'd fit. Right now, I don't have that. That's funny though, I know what you mean about compromising for stuff like that though :)
from jamsjunction :
Those french market finds look dangerous. They could really hurt someone. Maybe you should move them to your bedroom, so in the middle of the night you have something to grad incase you have an intruder. I amwith you, I am a big comfy couch kind of girl. Your husband would hate my house though..it is 110% country decor lol
from kestra :
Those are kind of scary looking, but in a good way! I think they're really cool! Am I just being weird again? lol
from bettyalready :
Happy Thanksgiving!
from jamsjunction :
Thank you for your note. I really appreciate it. Happy belated b-day to Steve! Hoep it was a great day, Of course it was, he's married to YOU! LMAO@Satan Food Your little boy is pretty funny!
from notjustamom :
satans food, hahahahahahaha!!! gawd, kiddos are so cute!
from msguided :
rotfl! Satan's food. Hehe. Kids are cute!
from moodymama :
happy belated birthday, steve. :)
from bettyalready :
Happy Birthday Steve! Lee just had his 35th. Now that's scary. Hey, the boobage thing is a little scary. I'd love to have smaller boobs. Right now I know that it's because I'm pregnant, but even non pregnant, they're D cups. If I had A's or B's, I could sleep on my stomach maybe! Causes a lot of neck and back problems too. Ugh. Everyone I know that has bigger boobs wants a reduction and everyone I know that has A's or B's wishes they were a little bigger. D's aren't HUGE but even that size causes problems. I think Maybe C's would be the best of all worlds. I don't know.
from wifemotherme :
bloody hell Janie! I had my volume up and those creatures scared the bejebbers out of me!
from aiken4clay :
LOL - I just took that test and got the exact same results you did, word for word!
from msguided :
That picture is gorgeous. I love how you two have matching earrings ;)
from aiken4clay :
How sad for her. The picture is so sweet - you have a wonderful new family!
from bettyalready :
How sad for her. My friend has her kids and then her boyfriends kids live there too. His ex is the same way. It was really hard for the daughter because she really needed her mom. Yea for you!
from aiken4clay :
I'm sipping a gingerbread latte from Starbucks as I write this! I thought of you when I was buying it. By the way, I've had to lock my diary temporarily - if you'd like a password, drop me a line ([email protected]) ~Linda
from moodymama :
what cute feet you have! :)
from jamsjunction :
Wooooo! Nothing like perfectly pedicured toes, painted Hooker Red to make you smile!
from manda-d :
Purty toes :-)
from mamaness :
SMILE
from findmeagain :
Thank you again for the words of encouragement :) At this point, I don't think there's a Prince Charming just for me, lol. If you're still willing to chat..when is a good time to catch you on IM? [and that pic of you is CUTE!!]
from nmnohr :
I think that you look absolutely adorable in that picture.......it's so cute!
from mamaness :
Aw you are so CUTE what is this "worst picture" buisness? Anthea (SAHM, locked diary) has a crazy photo of her with her birds on her and stuff that she calls her true self. It's great.
from pashiesplace :
That is one of the BEST pictures of you because it speaks volumes. Look at how happy you are!
from manda-d :
I like your hair that color :-)
from squirt82599 :
I was just curious if you happen to get my email with the username and password?
from marlen816 :
Coming from she who eats all things burnt - I have NEVER eaten a burnt Cheerio. And.....hello? Lose 5 lbs?? Where? In your big toe? You are so a step up from her and you do not have to lose weight to prove it!
from moodymama :
and btw, how could you, Miss Gorgeous herself, NOT be a step up? :)
from moodymama :
up your protein, janie. the pounds will come off faster though they might come back if you go back to eating too many carbs.
from myexodus :
For about a week or so, I have not been able to get into your diary. All I get is a blank page, then it times out. =[
from starlight42 :
Like the new design! And you did it yourself, how cool. I feel for you guys as you're redoing the room. Dave's doing something similar- having to take old stucco off the ceiling, sand it down, fill in holes & paint. Hard work. But totally worth it.
from babyontheway :
What? You mena, you don't like the dark wood paneling? C'Mon, it's so very 1970's!! LOL!! It's looking good! Can't wait to see the end result!
from marlen816 :
Looks good. Can't wait to see the finally results!
from squirt82599 :
Looks like you have been busy!! :) Did you get my e-mail with the username/password?
from findmeagain :
Hey hon :) Just in case you want to browse through some templates, there's some beautiful ones here: http://www.mizdos.com/miz/index.php and if you need help with the HTML, give me a yell and I'll see what I can do to help :) And thank you for the notes!!
from jamsjunction :
Ohh home renovations! Fun & exciting! I cant wait to see progress pictures!
from twoseasons :
I love that picture. :)
from ray0flight :
I love that picture... its beautiful
from moodymama :
that is an absolutely beautiful picture of you. :) you look deep in thought...what are you thinking about?
from jamsjunction :
I like this one to! The picture is just awesome I think. Have a great day!
from wifemotherme :
Love the new layout! The green one made my eyes bleed but I love ya enough that I would have read on anyway ; )
from sixweasels :
Janie, I wanted to stop in and say thanks for the support you gave when I was so down and out about the election. And I'm sorry some idiot hurt you like that. Hugs.
from twoseasons :
Yikes, that entry was very hard to read... I had to stretch out my window to read it. Hope you find a better layout. :) You are much more savvy than I am lol.
from twoseasons :
That sucks about the table and umbrella. I can't believe how windy AND cold it is today!! BRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrr
from findmeagain :
Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. And you give me so much hope as well! Thank you thank you. I'd love to chat sometime if at all possible :) swtsouthrnblues on both yahoo and aol. Lots of hugs to you!
from nicolerenee :
I just wanted to say hello, and that I found your diary through..um, I forgot! :/ Anyway, I hope you don't mind I'm putting you on my buddylist..can't wait to read more.
from starlight42 :
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a messy drawer....
from twisted-mind :
Thanks tons for posting the pictures. Your fridge looks just like mine pretty much. Hope your day today is much better than yesterday.
from sunnflower :
First, thanks for being the very first person to say Happy Birthday in my diary comments yesterday! Second, you expressed my views completely about the harsh words people were using to describe people with different political views than they held and how really hurtful it was. Third, I love the Halloween pics. Fourth, what's with the pictures of fridge and nightstand? Fifth, I just want to let you know I really enjoy reading your diary.
from myexodus :
LOL...I didn't have the courage to post the inside of my freezer! It mimicks my closets too much! Like that night stand drawer...I feel comfortable looking at someone elses who stuffs lots of 'gotta have' things in there. My night stands had to be filing cabinets, because we lack so much space and we needed it for the photography business. The bad part of running a business out of the home =[
from bettyalready :
damn that diet pepsi looks good.
from notjustamom :
I noticed you added me as a favorite and came here to have a lookie-see. I read back to the "One year Ago Today" entries. Wow, you have allot of courage, strength and faith.. I'm adding you to my favs. Id like to read more about this woman I see here... I have no other words than to say I was blown away by the description of the pain you felt then... I'm glad things got better. :)
from jamsjunction :
I spy Ben & Jerrys! YUM YUM!
from nmnohr :
You are absolutely right. We are all entitled to our opinions, and it just shows ignorance when someone makes someone else feel bad for their personal views. Regardless of who wins, we need to pull together as a country and support our President. Throwing little tantrums won't change anything. Don't take it personally, I'm sure those people were just blowing off steam.
from ray0flight :
((hugs)) Voting is a personal thing and you need to vote for who YOU feel will do the better job - not who your friends think. Don't worry about it to much...
from babyontheway :
I'm right there with you on O'Malley.....and he sings too!! LOL!!! I hope you have a better day...take a drive to Starbucks and get yourself something yummy!!!!
from jamsjunction :
The important thing is that you voted, and your vote was counted. I *think* we voted the same, but hey, I could be wrong, happens alot. I agree with you, the best thing we can do is pray, pray pray! (((HUGS)))..need some chocolate?
from batten :
Don't cry, honey. People who are rabid about politics just aren't quite sane. So try not to take it personally. Besides, everyone says things they regret in the heat of the moment. But people who don't respect your right to have your own opinion, forget 'em. Those aren't the kind of people you want to have around anyway. Big hug. -J
from babyontheway :
HUGS! Listen, I don't have a problem with you voting for the "other guy" as long as you had good reasons and you stick by them...I was calling those dumbasses who voted without even looking into the other candidate, just voting because they didn't know any better. I think that in this day in age, when that stuff is in your face for months, you shouldn't go into the voting booth not knowing why you are voting for who you voted for. As long as you made a conscious decision before going to the voting booth, I praise you for standing up and making your voice heard! Sorry, honey! I didn't mean to upset you, I am just frustrated...and hormonal.
from moodymama :
((((((((((((((((janie))))))))))))))) that's awful. i'm sorry someone made you cry. who was it? lemme kick their ass! :)~ i have to admit, this election was so heated. i refuse to disclose in my blog who i voted for. i already know that one reader that i've befriended will definitely stop reading...that's how pro-Kerry and passionate about it he is. it shouldn't matter though, if he stops reading. if he doesn't want to be my friend over something like that, oh well. his loss, you know? i'm just glad it's all over. i hated reading that someone hurt your feelings like that. :(
from pashiesplace :
You & I voted the same. I'm feeling the same way. Everyone has been emotional about this election- for their own personal reasons. respecting each other is the key. When whichever one is finally announced for certain, thats the time to stop the bitterness & start supporting each other and our leadership again. Big hugs.
from kestra :
{{{Hugs}}} I think everybody has been real emotional over this election, and as I said in my diary I don't hate Bush supporters, so I guess I can feel safe that I didn't cause you any grief, because I would hate to see that. I would just try not to take it personally... Did they mention you by name or say that people, who support whatever guy it is that you support, are (insert curse word here), or you specifically? If it's in general, then I'm sure that they don't really mean all individuals who support this guy, because there are always exceptions to the rule... I could say all people are rotten individuals, but in reality, I would have to acknowledge that there are no absolutes. It is a negative view, and I would feel bad for the people who are feeling that. It's better to be at peace with yourself, and they are obviously not.
from zencelt :
Let me give you a big, fat hug. This has been the hardest election I have ever been through. And with Six and I being on opposite ends of the spectrum, its been lively. But even we have to stop sometimes before we hurt eachother. I'm not nearly as polar as I used to be though. My perfect candidate is somewhere in between, with a better personality and speaking skills. Kind of like the perfect man ; ))
from mamaness :
Hugs things are really heated right now, I don't get why people can't just understand not everyone thinks the same as they do -- they understand it when it's some issue that everyone should be "open minded" about, but not when it is something that they are against. It is sad
from moodymama :
there are millions of newly registered voters this year. isn't that awesome? i love how they targeted that younger crowd that didn't exercise their voting rights. i too will not be disclosing who i'm voting for. everyone is getting way too worked up about it, ya know?
from starlight42 :
The kids costume's were amazing!! So cute too. Oh, and I love frogs, I'd love for someone to bring me one :)
from mamaness :
i cant wait for tommorow. i'm really sick of reading all the (not yours but other people get really mean & weird about it. people i don't know so it comes off wrong i bet haha) "go vote" posts around the net. lol. anyway i gotta go get ready for the day so i can, uh, vote. for someone. and i still don't know who. man.
from kestra :
I'm very nervous too! Either way you're voting, you have to figure that there's a 50% chance of the person you don't want to see elected will be, and a 50% chance of who you want to see elected will be. Geez! It's making me nervous too. I almost don't want to know the results and remain in blissful ignorance. I'm going out to vote later today... I think we'll see the highest voter turn-out in a long time with this election... I'll even bet we'll break the 50% turn-out barrier and see the majority of people going out to vote! At least that's what I'm hoping, because I think less than that is a really sad statement for our society.
from kestra :
They were all such wonderful costumes! I loved Alex's costume the best! That was a great idea he had!
from crazmomof3 :
Thanks for the warm welcome Janie. I am still trying to figure everything out! Cute story about your husband.! Kimberly
from moodymama :
the pumpkins are cool. :)
from marlen816 :
You're weird, but cute. Tree frogs! There was a gecko on the wall the other day and I thought of you =)
from zencelt :
Josiah is the funniest kid!
from pashiesplace :
Forgot to tell you how great the pumpkin carving pics are! We're doing ours tomorrow.
from starlight42 :
Ya, I wasn't married when my guy, my fiancee at the time, when he cheated on me & then left. It was so hard at the time. But after a while I realized that I was SO much better without him, and at least we weren't married yet. So now when I hear/read about anyone who's been through an experience like that, I can sympathize.
from auntie-mari :
OHH those are awesome pumpkins we haven't carved yet,, probably tomorrow night.. Looks like you guys had tons of fun especially with the sax music!! What a party!!! Have a great day tomorrow!!!
from starlight42 :
Love the pumpkins! And I just want to ditto what everyone else is saying about how far you've come & how you're at such a better place. I know it's such a tough place to come from, I'm just happy to see that you're so happy now. :) Also, I didn't get to read your interview in the group, I was bummed :(
from bettyalready :
I did get the chocolate! It is just like bitter chocolate. I forgot to get honey...it said to blend the beans with honey and freeze it...so I'm going to try that...but it really does taste like unsweetened chocolate.
from marlen816 :
I would have really like to have seen some pumpkin splatter on Steve's white shirt. LOL And ((hugs)) to you for yesterday and this time of year. Although, I wouldn't mind you coming for another visit =)
from mamaness :
Super hugs, Janie. Love love love the pumpkins
from kittyladymd :
Love the pumpkins! I just read all of your previous entries to and just wanted to say "good for you" for being able to write about what happened and it sounds like you are a very strong person. I'm glad you found the happiness you deserve.
from nmnohr :
I love your pumpkins! I always screw up pumpkin seeds. And I love them!
from nmnohr :
What an amazing entry, and you are an amazing person for realizing that while it's been a year, you are still healling. You have been blessed with so much since then, and I have no doubt that you will be blessed with even more.
from twoseasons :
Janie, I admire your strength. Even though its been a year, you are still healing. I am glad you are able to get your feelings out. Big HUGS to you.
from jamsjunction :
(((Hugs Janie)))...The Mysterious workings of God....My God continue to bless you, and help you heal through all of this.
from pashiesplace :
Hugs Janie. I've thought of you so often today. Brian gave you a gift a year ago, the opportunity to find a better love & life for yourself. I know (BELIEVE ME) thats easy to say & beyond difficult to feel at times. Your hurt hits me hard & I think in a lot of ways I understand the things you say & maybe more importantly, the ones you can't say.
from wifemotherme :
Janie, You have made me cry all day long! I know this story ends happy. I know your better off, but your pain is still so raw, I cant help but feeling all these thousands of miles away. Peace be with you today - not as the world (or husbands)- but the peace that is beyond understanding.
from aiken4clay :
Big hugs to you. I know that moving on and finding a new love doesn't erase the hurt of the past. I hope time heals, even if just a little. (((HUGS)))
from ray0flight :
((hugs)) I know a lot has changed for you for the better in the last year but I can't help but think you still must be alittle sad. I would be.... (((more hugs)))
from babyontheway :
Hugs to you dear. I know you are probably not having the best of days. I am praying for you to heal from the disaster that ex-jerk put you through. Give your hubby and kids all extra big hugs today. You are in a happy home where everyone loves you, and you deserve it all, honey! BIG, BIG HUGS!!!
from kestra :
Your entry struck home to me how short of a time it has been and how so much has happened. In one year you have gone from being married, then to an affair, then to separation, then to divorce, then to meeting someone else, then to marrying him, and then to having a larger extended family. It's an awful lot to process at once. From what I've read it takes up to 3 years for people to heal from the divorce and establish a "post-divorce identity." It won't be better rightaway, but as time passes, you'll get to know each other in a much deeper sense, and you'll start to feel that sense of security you're looking for. I know occasionally you still deal with the issues of the past, though. I don't think it ever goes away entirely, and you still have to address the issues, but (and I hope this doesn't sound too Pollyannish :P) I do think that things get better with time and effort.
from zencelt :
Hugs for you, and one big whopping ass kick in the other direction. You have learned some hard lessons for all of us.
from bettyalready :
Ah ha, there you are. I wasn't able to see anything on the msg board to see what diary you had. I saw your interview but didn't see your reply's.
from twisted-mind :
Aww bummer about not being able to see the messy drawer. We just decided to let it go, it was a lot of work and things werent fun anymore. And I had just posted your interview too. :o(
from kittyladymd :
Wow, that's not bad community service at all. I don't know how you can speed in Waldorf these days anyway with all the traffic. Then again, some of those back roads make it really tempting!
from starlight42 :
I could have written that same entry about the rose colored glasses. You're exactly right that it affects the new relationship, as well as how you view TV and movies, the feelings they now bring out. Well put.
from gypsy-poet :
That entry was simply amazing. It was if at one time you read my mind. Things do change, and the insecurities do mellow in a way that you still respect them and how they have shaped your life, but they do not infringe upon the happiness that you have in your world...
from wifemotherme :
{{{{So I will never look at love and marriage with rose colored glasses. I look at it with a healthy respect and an honest fear. It is something not to be taken for granted. It is something to cherish}}}} That statement is the very word of God living and breathing - He gives beauty for ashes. Janie have I told you latly how much I admire you? I do...
from kittyladymd :
Oh how I miss Captain Billy's! If you ever need someone to eat seafood with you in Southern Maryland on a weekend, let me know and I'll gladly join you! So funny to read you diary and recognize all those places as it makes me long for my hometown.
from twoseasons :
Man, sleeping in for me is 8am, lol. I'd even take that. My kids were up too early as well...AND I let them stay up later! I can't WIN. I hope you and Steve get to go out tonight!
from drewbears :
How long is she in a cast for?? Did they have to set it or anything??
from mamaness :
the moms time out sounds like it was fun! my kiddos love link too ;)
from marlen816 :
Is that for real or a joke? I can't imagine the two of them being related??
from babyontheway :
Crab Soup? Did Janie say she's making Crab Soup????? I'll be right down!!!! j/k...I don't know where you live anymore :o(
from kestra :
Ooh! I want some of that soup too! LOL I'm gonna have to start wearing autumn clothes with the weather changing! Whine!
from babyontheway :
That's It Sophie! i'm buying you a bubble for Christmas!! She gets the trophy for most visits to ER before 10 years of age! Hope she's ok, and that it heals quickly!! Poor girl!
from pashiesplace :
What Not To Wear??? What channel is that on? It sounds hysterical.
from twoseasons :
OH MY GAH so I am not the only one who likes it like that?? MMM I always try to put mine in an extra longer. I listen to see when the popping slows down ALOT and then take it out. MM now I want some.
from kestra :
I love seeing when people have updated too! I should be doing my part, but have been away from D-land longer than I normally would. Sometimes it's hard to think of anything to write of. Not to say that I ever had anything terribly interesting when I did write, I guess, lol. My parents used to say the same thing about my homework... well, actually my dad told me right about when I got to middle school to not ask him for help anymore because it was too hard! I don't know if that means I was smart or my dad was stupid...:-P
from twoseasons :
Hmm that is really strange!! I hope they figured how to do that, lmao!
from marlen816 :
Glad you and V had a good day. Maybe I need to go shopping with Devin soon.....
from mathero :
geneology sounds like so much fun. does it cost much to get into it? i'd be kinda interested to see where i came from and such. what a neat hobby!
from sunnflower :
Bunnies are good!
from kestra :
Aww, I love the bunnies! They're not boring, they're cute! :-)
from pashiesplace :
The photos are wonderful!
from corajoy :
Those are beautiful pictures! And you have beautiful kids. . .:)
from zencelt :
Did you take those photos? They are so beautiful and artistic. I'd love to have that talent. Of course, you had easy subjects to work with ; )))
from babyontheway :
Great photos! Now I'm inspired....maybe I should take a few b&w of Rachel out at my in-laws...they have like a million acres out there in the boonies...it would be great! Thanks for sharing!
from auntie-mari :
OHH my gosh what a beautiful photo... do you scrapbook??? That is a wonderful photo... did you take it??? OYYY,, I seem to be gushing,, hahaha,,, Have a good one!
from drewbears :
That picture is beautiful!
from babyontheway :
Oh WOW!! That pic of Sophie is absollutely breathtaking!! Are you the artist?
from drewbears :
Aw, Janie, you are so sweet!!! ;o) Thanks for thinking of me. And let Tara know that I am praying for little Adian. Hey, what is your email address???
from moodymama :
victoria's room is so cool!! we re-did shelby's room too while she was gone to hawaii this summer and she was so surprised when she got back.
from babyontheway :
Victoria's room looks AWESOME!! It's so funny, but it reminds me of her....you and Steve did a great job! I bet you've won the cool mom award for the month with her, haven't you?
from sunnflower :
I love the bedroom redo. I was thinking of orange and blue for my son's room. It's very cool.
from marn :
I don't know how you do it, Janie, juggling a new baby, your kids and all your other responsibilities! I used to turn my nose up at petunias, too, but now I'm hooked on their scent. Don't you just hate it when the men are right?
from twisted-mind :
The dog is alive and I havent had a day alone yet... so I'll tell you what I did when I get one. We'd love to have you back in the group and you are welcome to come back any time. Just let moodymama or myself know and we'll shoot you an email. We miss you there. Hope you are having a great day! :o)
from twisted-mind :
What a cool house. Glad you are back to updating again. :o)
from babyontheway :
Thanks for the kind words and prayers! You know I really need them! I'm feeling caustiously optimistic this time around, but all the prayers can do is help! Thanks, you're too kind!!
from moodymama :
lol. shelby has been shaving her legs since she was ten. now she's patiently waiting for her period, teen pads in her purse and all. :)
from mamaness :
LOL Give them some time, i'm sure they will be sick of practicing eventually and you will have to force them to do whateveramountoftime they shoudl do a day ;)
from marlen816 :
Cute pics! I can't believe Josiah let that THING sit on his head! Creeps me out!!
from pashiesplace :
They are adorable. Love the Josiah shot! Hugs.
from mamaness :
They are all so cute :) I hope they had a good first day.
from mamaness :
They are all so cute :) I hope they had a good first day.
from moodymama :
love alex's aloha shirt. :)
from zencelt :
OMG! Your kids look great! They look really happy to be going to school. Way to go mom!

It's great to see you posting. It sounds like things are going really well for you now. I'm thrilled for you! What state are you living in now? I ask because a day trip to NYC makes me wonder how close we are. I'm in Northeastern PA, 90 minutes from the city. Hugs.
from kestra :
I'm so happy to see you back and posting, Janie! Wow, it sounded like you and Steve had a GREAT time without the kids... We try to do one special thing per weekend, but you packed like a month or more's worth in for that week! ;-)
from xnavygrrl :
Yeehaw! You go girl. Congratulations on getting married!
from lukeysmama :
Congrats Janie! I'm so happy for you!
from corajoy :
Woohoo!! That is so exciting! I'm thrilled for you, Janie! And as for blended families, I have some suggestions. Kevin Leman did a book called "Living in a stepfamily without getting stepped on", and also, Family Life (familylife.com) has GREAT remarried resources. I'm thrilled for you(wait, I already said that) and I'll be praying for you! Joy
from starlight42 :
Congrats!!

from peachyhaye :
Hey.. my name is Haley and I was browsing diaries and I came upon yours. I also looked at your cast page and saw that you met your boyfriend off of Hot or Not.com.. Well, aren't Jim and James the best? I met my boyfriend there too and he is just purely and utterly amazing!! Who could have thought you would meet the man of your dreams on an online dating service!! =P
from cleanstart :
Has little Ms.(Mrs.?) Janie gone and gotten married?? *giggles* I'm curious and that's the only thing I could come up with. If so, congrat's!!
from katress :
I didn't know that you were moving? I was wondering if you had any advice for me in surviving divorce. Things are pretty ugly for me right now, and I admire you for your strength and faith in God. If you could give me some pointers on how to keep my head on straight I would be much in debt to you.
from kestra :
Wow, you moved into a new house? Congratulations! I certainly don't hear from you often enough. Hope things are going well. Good luck with not going insane without internet access? Getting a lot of work done in the meanwhile?? LOL
from sunnflower :
Sorry to hear about the cat. Have a good Easter.
from cleanstart :
Hey Janie... missing your updates. I hope things are going well! HUGS~
from moodymama :

from mamaness :

from drewbears :
Sorry to hear about the sickies.
from neurotic-one :
Janie, I'm so glad I got to know you a bit. You and Nicole remind me so much of me and my sister....I am also the oldest...thus the wisest ;^) It will all work out.
from kestra :
I can't figure out what you mean by your last entry. You said, "I'm sorry for not mentioning this." This what? Did something happen that you didn't mention in your diary? Sorry if this sounds nosey, but I was just wondering.
from nikiandelsie :
Thanks for the kind note. Haven't read your diary yet. May give that a try later.
from manda-d :
I miss my kids when they are with their dad too. :(
from drewbears :
I am jealous! I wanna check out that store!!!
from bluecharis :
Glad to hear, that your stomach's better... Unfortunately mine isn't, boo!! :-)) I'm glad to hear you liked Ikea... I can't remember the last time I shopped for furniture at another place than Ikea... Ever since I moved out from home, Ikea was and is the place for me! So happy stuffing up! Love, Charis
from kestra :
Glad to hear that the birthday party turned out okay! And congratulations on being single for the first time in your adult life! I bet it feels good to be able to call the shots, but I totally understand too how hard it is to let your kids go. I just wanted to say that ever since you and Brian separated, I have definitely been relating to the entries in your diary! I still look as visitation as kind of a break if it's not for too long, and I remember before we split, I was carrying the weight 100% with childcaring duties as well. That's why it surprised me that he was willing to take him at all, but it was only when he had a girlfriend, which probably explains why he's willing to take him for long periods of time now. Somebody to take care of him. :-P I can't believe that Brian let your oldest watch an R-rated movie. I think he's definitely feeling insecure, and trying to win their favor, but using bad judgment in doing so. So I have a question, though. How does he know that your boyfriend was carrying Josiah while in DC? I wish Allyn would do that. He'll carry Aidan, and I'll carry Bowen, but hey Bowen is a lot heavier than Aidan and I'm a lot weaker than him! It doesn't make sense logistically, but I know he's just going by whose kid is whose. That's good that Josiah will allow somebody else to carry him. I think the reason I am always the one carrying Bowen is because he won't let anyone else carry him! Even when I left him with his dad to hold him, he threw a fit! :-P Kids, they don't always make it easy on you. And I have way too many :-Ps in this note. LOL. Later, Janie!
from sunnflower :
I am sure it is good in a way to get those papers and just be done with it. I am sure it is an adjustment to be not married anymore but there are advantages to having things your way for awhile too. Sending hugs.
from ray0flight :
I like your new layout
from mr-knowitall :
I have run the labyrinth of bad in sink disposers. Do yourself a favor: spend the money on a good one.
from drewbears :
Hey how did the party go anyway?? I am still bummed we couldnt come. :o(
from sunnflower :
You are right - just because you have someone else in your life right now doesn't mean that what your ex did was right at all. I'm glad you are staying strong.
from mr-knowitall :
Pop-Tarts Raw and still wiggling.
from mamaness :
Ewwww poptarts! Have fun with the party, I'll be praying it all works out Okay for the children.
from corajoy :
Nightmare on Elm Street *was* a comedy compared to some of what they're releasing these days! I used to *love* the Freddy movies. The newer stuff is too much for me, though.
from brucedowns :
I Love your site and thanks for adding me to your favorites. Im one who defiantly is looking forward to the remake of Dawn of the Dead. I do get scared, but I will still go. After reading a few entries I will check in daily. I too was born in Maryland and lived in Rockview, MD until I turned 8 we then moved to Georgia. We use to go to Ocean City, MD for vacation, back before it got to crowded. I am Glad that you are happier now than you have ever been, even though you did not make it to Hawaii. Lol. And I agree it is strange how life goes. Have fun, Bruce
from wifemotherme :
I had never heard of Dawn of the Dead so I looked up the trailer! That is one movie I sure as heck will not be seeing. The trailer alone scared the heck out of me! I use to love scary movies when I was little too, but I really wig out on them now. I have only seen one scary movie in the last several years -- cant think of the name but the plot sounds identical to this one. I did read a Tribulation series by James BeauSeigneur that had a similar sub plot line of people becoming infected and mindlessly killing. Now having said all that I say skip the movie and read "In His Image"
from ray0flight :
I saw a promo for "Dawn of The Dead" too and I think it looks HORRIBLE! The trailer alone gave me the creeps!
from mr-knowitall :
I saw that movie... like 20 years ago!
from babygerl26 :
Just wanted to say hello and that I am glad you have moved on and are happy. Going through something like this suddenly make us feel empowered. I became the strongest person ever because my ex left me. I am so glad he left though he was horrible!! Anyways I updated my diary and left a link to our website for you to check out!! THen you can see us!! Toodles
from mr-knowitall :
Umm.... glad I already ate?
from drewbears :
Yikes I read about the searches, that is a little weird. If you do end up locking up, please let me know, I like reading.
from xnavygrrl :
I found you through your sister's diary. :)
from cleanstart :
Janie, I am not sure who is searching for you? However, if you decide to lock up...I'd love to have the PW to continue reading you. I am so happy for you. You sound so happy in your entries when you talk about spending time with Steve and his children. Now about the psycho X's, I don't think they ever go away, so you have to learn to laugh them off or egnore em. <---Spoken from experience!! lol..HUGS~
from sixweasels :
umd.edu is most likely from the College Park campus, although I'm not 100 percent sure. Does that help at all?
from drewbears :
Um yeah, sure, Mexican?!?!? LOL That is too funny.
from pashiesplace :
OMG! LOLOLOL. Mexican? now maybe if Josiah was named Enrique Eduardo Ramirez!
from mr-knowitall :
Janie, thank you for your thoughts on the matter. I think then you know all to well what I'm dealing with. I've been following your trial, and my prayers are with you. I don't think I'm being driven by her indifference to any end really. It's my hope and prayer that she will come to the point that you did, and start dealing with it. Thanks for helping me hope :)
from mr-knowitall :
Alas we let loose the neurotic entries... ;)
from drewbears :
What happened to your guestbook?? We play the game Cranium with friends all the time. We like to team up boys against the girls. LOL And the taxes, you have got to be kidding me that he said that! Glad to see you on here again.
from batten :
Of course you could do what I've done which is file married but separated and if he tries to declare you as a dependent then you just report him to the criminal investigation department of the IRS... (hee!) But you're a lot nicer than I am... Hang in there, hon'. Big hug. -J
from twisted-mind :
Glad to see you are doing well. Hope everything stays on the happy track. :o)
from sunnflower :
Well, this is a tough situation for you and I am sure for your daughter too. It's probably really hard to have her dad hanging around with some new chick that is not her mom and now her mom has a new guy too and this has all happened so very fast. I know you want to be happy and get on with your life - and you deserve that - but when things go at the speed of light it can be pretty truamatic for kids because they have no recourse but to live with whatever their parents do - even if they hate it or aren't ready for it. I am sure you are a very kind and understanding mom and will come through this in a way that is best for the both of you.
from mr-knowitall :
signmyguestbook.com is really getting on my nerves. In case this didn't get through, here it is again: *flashback to 1972*.... Sounds exactly like what I put my mother through. My mother kicked my dad out for a multitude of reasons. None of which I ever really knew. I just thought it was because they argued a lot. For 10 years I punished her until I was 18, and we were sitting talking, and she told me EVERYTHING. With tears in my eyes I asked her why she didn't tell me a long time ago?! She simply said, " I didn't want you to think badly of your father. I dunno... maybe at the age of 8 I couldn't have handled the truth. They say kids are resilient. Maybe, as long as they don't get lost in it all like I did. To some degree, at the age of 40... it still hurts, even though I think my mom did what she had to do, and I have no resentment toward her for it. My prayers are with you. ~Rick
from pashiesplace :
((((Janie)))) I know Maya is younger but I'm dealing with a lot from her right now too. It's hard enough to handle your self & your feelings without having a child nervy enough to keep running their mouth at you etc. I'm right there with you.
from mamaness :
:( I'm sorry Janie. I'll continue to pray for you & the kiddos. And hey, you gave me a giggle when you said - paraphrased-- mommy has a boyfriend and daddy had one (a boyfriend? *G*) for two months longer.
from cleanstart :
BIG hugs Janie...I SO know what you are going thorugh. I hope things gets better for you soon. Divorce is so hard on children. Time will help her out, promise!
from starlight42 :
oops, they weren't ducks, they were moons!
from starlight42 :
Just wanted to wish you well with everything. I enjoy reading your diary and you seem like such a nice person, it's crappy your ex did this to you. He'll figure out what he's missin', but by then, it'll be too late. By the way, I don't know if I ever told you how much I loved those ducky pj's!!
from twisted-mind :
Janie I screwed up! I was going through my diaryrings, deleting locked diaries and I clicked on yours in the mommies ring. I'm so sorry please join again.
from pashiesplace :
((((Janie)))) It has to be very hard to stomach the kids with her.
from manda-d :
Sweetie, first of all you did NOT drive him away. That is Brian's way of making himself feel less guilty for cheating on you and walking out on your family. Secondly, NO ONE with kids (no one that gives a crap about their kids anyway) can keep a house completely in order all the time. Don't let him turn this around on you. HE did this, it was HIS decision. HE is feeling guilty (as he should). So what else can he do but try to place the blame elsewhere? I'm sure he is having a hard time living with himself right now. You are going to be fine... you'll get through this and be so much stronger. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, hang in there.
from mamaness :
You make your old church sound horrible, lol. Not the church building-the church people. Praying you find one where you fit :)
from corajoy :
I agree with Batten. And, I'll be praying that you'll find the right church home. God will be with you! Joy
from batten :
Just think of Dory in "Nemo." "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..." It does get better. Hang in there, hon'. Big hug to you. -J
from mamaness :
Well now you have room to add ME to your buddy list. SN is Mama Aishy. And I find socks in odd places all the time, but usually the kiddos socks. I stash em in case we need an extra pair for whatever (hands? Ears?? changing the babies outfit from something with footsies??)
from marlen816 :
Socks, huh? Maybe they were for bowling.
from zencelt :
Hi Janie! I really enjoyed our evening together with the girls Friday night. I'd love to do it again soon and spend more time!!! Take care!
from ray0flight :
Leaving a church is sad because it's like leaving a family BUT moving is such a rewarding thing. Don't worry about what people say... follow where you are supposed to be :)
from babyontheway :
When you get a chance, email me, call me, or something! Got some questions to ask, and what happened at that church today??? Are they a bunch of wackos in there???
from mommylap :
I'm thinking of you sending lots of positive energy. I'm glad your mom is looking out for you too.
from bluecharis :
Hi there! Just wanted to let you know, that I've read lots of your entries today and that I wish you all the best for the future. I think, you're doing a great job of coping with your situation. Happy New Year to you and your family, love, Charis :-)) PS: Tell Nicole I say hi! ;-)
from babyontheway :
heheee...tell those sisters that saying "stoked" is 'so yesturday'!! HUGS! We had fun yesturday, BTW, we'll have to get together more often 1-3-04
from bluebonnet :
HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope 2004 treats you wonderfully, you deserve it!
from wifemotherme :
Janie, Happy New Year!! I pray in the new year you areblessed beyond measure and find peace beyond understanding!
from pashiesplace :
You are amazing. (((Hugs)))
from marlen816 :
Hmmm. I am praying for you. Follow your heart. Mom has messed up our heads pretty good, but you know what's right for you and the kiddos. I love you!
from mommylap :
Wow. I am ashamed I missed so much. You are amazing. I am sure you couldn't see the strength you showed us as you were going through everything this Fall, but it sure was there. I admire you so much! I am glad your Christmas had such a happy tone, and that you are proud of yourself and feeling so strong!
from cleanstart :
I'm so glad that your holiday went well with all the changes in your families life. HUGS Janie! The pictures are cute. It was very thoughtful of you to take a picture of your kids and their dad. It will mean allot to them someday! :O)
from sunnflower :
Beautiful picture of you and the kids. As Tiny Tim said - God bless us, everyone! Merry Christmas dear!
from me-undaunted :
i should be sad when i read your entries, but somehow i always come away feeling excited for you. how sad, i live vicariously through a girl i don't even know. i'm silly :o) merry christmas to you and your babies (((((((((((((janie)))))))))))))))
from machogirl7 :
How cute! Thanks for sharing!
from ray0flight :
Merry Christmas. You are stronger then you know *hugs*
from preciousgift :
Merry Christmas! You all look so cute in your PJ's. :)
from pashiesplace :
You all look wonderful! Do you realize just how far you've come in 2 months??? To be able to choose NOT to reconcile shows your strength & the amount of healing you've already done. ((((Hugs))))
from sunflowery :
Janie, I think you are such an amazingly beautiful woman! And you're daughter is so cute! I used to be at Amiebea, but changed over to SunFlowery. Come by every now and then, OK?
from pashiesplace :
You look fantastic!
from me-undaunted :
janie...you look BEAUTIFUL!
from machogirl7 :
I LOVE your hair! You are so pretty!
from ray0flight :
Your beautiful
from sunnflower :
Those eggnog lattes do it every time. They are addictive.
from machogirl7 :
MMM! That sounds yummy!
from me-undaunted :
this sounds absurd, but i'm a little envious of your newfound freedom.
from sunnflower :
Not in order of importance - I love eggnog lattes too. Lots of people haven't started shopping yet so you are still not in the panic zone there, your husband did do something that makes him the bad guy and he can rationalize it into the ground but it will never make it right. Oh, and by the way there is a statistic I read once that stated that most times the woman a guy leaves his marriage rarely winds up being the woman he finally ends up with and when those relationships do end in marriage, the marriages have a high potential for divorce - it seems there's a basic trust issue there. Hmmm. Hugs.
from corajoy :
Amen, sister. Keep us posted! I want to know the wonderful things He does in you!
from marlen816 :
Awesome entry today! ((hugs)) lil' sis!
from machogirl7 :
I think one of the good things that has come of this is that you are strengthening so many people's faith in God, and that you are leading by example and bringing so many people to Him. They want what you have. That is so awesome. ((hugs))
from twisted-mind :
I'm so glad you have been able to find comfort in God. You really should be proud of yourself. Take care Janie and know not a day goes by I don't think about you and your kids.
from machogirl7 :
I'm glad you're back! I'm one of your new friends, you know. ;)
from twisted-mind :
So glad you are doing ok and your computer is fixed.
from me-undaunted :
:o) I missed you. Glad you got your computer fixed.
from marlen816 :
Your PC is fixed now, so where are your updates????
from twisted-mind :
I was just thinking of you and thought I'd let you know. (((((Janie)))))
from sunnflower :
He doesn't seem to have much regard for his kids because dragging them around with some new woman is obviously not in their best interest. That's just about him and the chick. Be brave, but don't let him keep pushing. Get yourself a lawyer and gird yourself for battle. And also, don't let this guy steal your holiday season.
from manda-d :
Hi, I just started reading your diary. But I can so relate to what you're going through. The first holiday (which was also Thanksgiving) after my divorce, I couldn't compose myself all day... I spent the entire day clinging to my kids and crying like a baby. But every holiday there after got easier, and now the holidays are happy once again. Your's will be to... You hang in there hon :)
from starlight42 :
sorry that you had a crappy Thanksgiving. I hope from here on out things get better for you. I know it's a long road, but you sound like such a great person, I just know things will look up for you soon.
from sunnflower :
I just seem to be getting something wrong in your email because it keeps bouncing back. Send me an email if you get a chance and I will return it with my note. Hang in there.
from nuntobe :
I am praying for you. I found your diary through Joy, and I hope you don't mind my reading it. I enjoy it very much, and I know you will succeed and be the greatest mother ever. Hang in there, and God Bless. *hugs* ~Jamie~
from sixweasels :
Janie - remember I'm right up the road if you need to get away and just have a cup of coffee and a chat with someone who cares but isn't as involved in the situation as your family. It sounds like you are trying to carry the hurt and anger your parents feeling as well as your own. Please hang in there, take one day at a time, and remember that lots of people care about you.
from me-undaunted :
(((((((((((((((janie))))))))))))))))) you're my new hero :o)
from bluebonnet :
I hope you and the kids can have a happy thanksgiving.
from sunnflower :
I'm shocked - he's introducing this woman to his kids at this point. I think he ought to make a call to Dr. Laura pronto and see what she would have to say to him about the damage he is doing to his kids. Hang in there.
from machogirl7 :
You're so strong, Janie. And I look up to you because of that. I really admire your faith, and it makes me want to be closer to God. If there's anything I can do, let me know. ((hugs))
from starlight42 :
I feel for you- I have been there. The worst part is looking back at all the desperate things I did--all you can do is to try and stay strong. I wish you luck, I know it's a long road.
from twisted-mind :
It is amazing that a month has passed. You have done so well given the way thing happened. I will be keeping you and your kids in my thoughts today. Much love and support sent your way, Janie.
from dynomiited :

from flutterbees :
it hardly seems possible that a month has passed. I admire your strength! I really do. I don't know how I would handle your situation, but I am so impressed with how you have done it. Here is hoping that the next month is better for you.
from me-undaunted :
for me, after the hurt, then numbness, came the anger. i hope you get to skip that part.
from starlight42 :
just surfing diaryland...I love your design! Hope things go ok with the kids.
from me-undaunted :
gimme a break. i hope they LOATHE her. signed, janie's evil friend. :o)
from cleanstart :
I hope the kids are able to handle the "meeting". The evil side wants me to say "I hope the kids hate Bethany", but that's not the right way of thinking about this. There are so many different possibilities of what their future holds with their father. I pray for the best!
from twisted-mind :
Ouch! That's why I don't shave until I HAVE to. Hope you have a good day!
from corajoy :
Oh, Janie. . .If you want to talk, note or email me. *hugs* I'm so sorry, I know how hard it is. *hugs again* I wish you were closer to AZ. *hugs for your kids, too* Stay strong in Him, and you'll come out ok. Joy
from wifemotherme :
11/19 - Every time you almost start to miss him - think of him eating a booger. That will qultch those feelings in no time!
from machogirl7 :
((hugs))
from sunnflower :
I just got my email to you back as undeliverable. Do I have an incorrect email?
from sunnflower :
I've been too overwhelmed to keep up with my favorite diaries the way I should over the last few weeks. I just send you an email - let me know if you don't get it.
from pashiesplace :
I'm glad there was a bright spot in this day for you!
from machogirl7 :
Can I have a password, please? If not, I understand. ((hugs))

Oh Janie, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that song. "Hold me Jesus" has always been a song that meant alot to me. My step-dad sang it at church the first time I ever heard it and I've been hooked ever since. I listened to it over and over again when my husband and I were going through our divorce. He's there holding you each step of the way hun. Love you girl!
from mamaness :
i'm so sorry he is putting you through all this mess. hugs. It was really nice getting to see you the other day. I did the "duh I should have suggested we go somewhere & buy lunch" thing after I got home and started fixing the boys lunch. Would have made my day easier *and* I could have talked to y'all. Sigh, regrets!

reading you lately makes me think of that saying...something about "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" anyway, your writing has taken this dramatic turn. janie, unleashed, i call it. haha. things happen for a reason, i think. my most valuable lessons have been learned through my worst experiences. i'm babbling...i'm a bit hyper today...i should go take my meds...maybe not...

Steve said he found the perfect song for you - go to Windows Media and type in "There's more to me than you" by Jessica Andrews, it sohuld have the song with video. He's been working on finding you the perfect songs since we got off the phone 4 hours ago :-)
from bluebonnet :
I'm very glad you arrived safely, hopefully the time away will help you, although your doing so much better then most women. Stay strong!
from kittyladymd :
I have to say that it takes a very strong woman to handle this the way that you have, and I'm very impressed as I'm sure I'd be a complete wreck. Stay strong. I'll still be hoping things work out and he realizes the error or his ways and comes begging for you to have him back and I hope that when that happens you can find the strength to forgive him, because that will be even more difficult.
from pashiesplace :
I LOVE the template. It's sadly appropriate I guess. I hope you have a wonderful time with Mar. (((Hugs)))
from mamaness :
November 9 ;) hehe Hey that would be c`ool i'll email you/marlen (I even have her number in my inbox somewhere) s3oon. and my kids say hi! LOL
from katress :
11/9 Oh no. Sweetie, I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Just remember, God never gives you more than he thinks you can handle. ((((BIG HUGE HUGS)))) and hon, you are gorgeous, don't think anything different for a moment! Your shining loving personality, your relationship with your kids and God, you're an example to the rest of us!
from twisted-mind :
I'm not a praying person but I have been talking to him and I hope it does help some.
from me-undaunted :
what a beautiful entry :o)
from wifemotherme :
Oh my goodness! I think this entry shocked me more than the "big news" did. I am flooded at your maturity and strength. Having gone thru a divorce, it took me more than a year to see what you figured out in 2 weeks. You my dear ARE BEAUTIFUL! And you are something more than intelligent. Wow! I wanna be you when I grow up! ps I did pray she get ill ; )
from me-undaunted :
i hope she comes down with some virulent strain of leprosy and is covered with oozing, blistering, sores. yeah, something like that.
from pashiesplace :
I haven't said much because I know absolutely nothing I say will really help & I don't want to just leave words that seem empty or perfunctory. Please know that I really am thinking of you often, that I really do care and that you all are in my prayers. (((Hugs)))
from twisted-mind :
I dunno must be that time of year or some other lame reason. I think mine might have been a fluke since she seems fine now. Hope your poor sick kids feel better too. We all know throwing up is no fun at all. (((hugs)))
from corajoy :
(((((Janie)))))I'm so sorry. . .There's not much I can say, I know. If I can help at all, even just to talk, even if just by email, please, let me know. I'm here. In His love, and with my prayers, Joy
from mamaness :
Oh Janie i'm so sorry. You'll be in my prayers
from inmythirties :
I'm a new reader to your journal. I'm sorry to see what you are going through. You and your kids are in my thoughts.
from wifemotherme :
Janie, Your in my thoughts and prayers.
from machogirl7 :
Janie, I have been praying for you for quite awhile now. I just wanted to let you know that if you need anything, just email me. I will try to do whatever I can for you. ((hugs)) Love, Jen
from pashiesplace :
(((((Janie))))))
from twisted-mind :
(((((Janie))))) I am so sorry that you and your family are going through this. You are in my thoughts. Much love sent your way.
from lukeysmama :
Oh, Janie. My heart is with you. I'm so sorry. I will be thinking of all of you, and hoping for the best. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to let me know. ((Hugs))
from me-undaunted :
...wow. i don't know what to say, janie. i'm so very sorry and i won't even pretend to come close to imagining what you're going through. (((((((((janie)))))))))))
from pashiesplace :
I'm so sorry. I can't imagine the pain you are in. Please know that you and the kids are in my thoughts. ((((Hugs))))
from preciousgift :
I'm so very sorry. :( You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I know how hard it is on the kids because I was once there but keep faith and stay strong for the kiddos and yourself hun. If you need someone to talk to look me up on AIM (TorridButterfly8) or MSN (stressedoutmom2)HUGS!!!
from twisted-mind :
ALL my entries are about going to walmart and cleaning. No going to lunch with friends though. Sounds like a way busy weekend you'll deserve a Monday vacation day.
from katress :
Hot-cha-mama! You go on with your bad self!
from wifemotherme :
((((Janie))) You seem to need a hug today - a hug and a Prayer, so I am giving you both.
from twisted-mind :
He'd never admit to that mullet. :o) Glad you are feeling a better.
from wifemotherme :
10/18 (((*Janie*))) I am sorry your feeling down - I do hope it passes soon but while your here (in the dumps) remimber God is God in everything and sometimes he can use what feels like the worst of times to bring us to higher ground. Since song lyrics are the comfort food of the day - check out http://www.lyricsdepot.com/petra/no-doubt.html. PS I am here if you need anyone to talk too. You have always been such an uplifting blessing to me.
from preciousgift :
Sending big hugs your way. Hope you're feeling better soon. =)
from me-undaunted :
i hate not being able to go into reasons about things. it might be helpful if we could. whatever the reason ((((((((((janie))))))))) i hope the blues lift soon.
from sunnflower :
Sorry you are feeling a little blue. Get out into some of that fall sunshine - with a skor bar and a diet dr. pepper. All will be well.
from pashiesplace :
(((((((Janie))))))))
from me-undaunted :
poor sophie! did i tell you that i'm on the third member of my family having a foot injury? what, am i next? ha! i shouldn't say that...considering how clumsy i am...
from pashiesplace :
Aww, poor Sophie. Isn't it something how every family seems to have one injury prone child? (((Hugs)))
from twisted-mind :
I feel that same way every time we go to my husband's step-sisters house. Big beautiful house they designed and built themselves. I hate to be jealous because we have so much, but its hard. Love, not things is what makes a home beautiful right?
from xxx2003 :
Because Christianity has the endlessly appalling gall to consider itself the One True Way and anyone who thinks differently is going to hell and the religion makes a point of evangelizing and trying to convert, and attempts to change the laws of the nation to fit its narrow doctrines of behavior and sex and marriage and belief, and how dangerous and easy to hand your power over to some vague deity, blind faith just way too easy and wimpy in how it absolves you from taking personal responsibility and while there are plenty of Good Upstanding Christians who don't wish to shove their beliefs down anyone's throat, far too many do, and far too many misunderstand its true pagan history anyway, and restricting yourself to one generally misogynistic patriarchal religious belief is akin to restricting yourself to one type of car or one sub-genre of music or one boring sexual position or one brand of scratchy underwear for the rest of your life.
from katress :
10/5 -- Thanks for leaving that note in my guestbook--it's been hard for me to keep up with everything around here. Hope that all is well!! :) I'm kinda jealous about the housecleaning thing...I should try that with my hubby!
from me-undaunted :
woo! janie got some bootay! and even better, a clean house! you go, girl. :o)
from me-undaunted :
no one signs guestbooks anymore. that site sucks! aaron got that hideous chinese bowl haircut once when he was little. i was furious. i had told the hairstylist to "fade" it on the sides, not completely shave it off! ugh.
from mommylap :
Hey, you have a lot to be proud of with your marriage. It's so great that you are aware of it because on the ongoing pleasure it's giving you. More people should realize that changes that seem like a lot of effort before, seem effortless later once instituted. You totally inspire me everyday.
from me-undaunted :
that was a beautiful entry, janie :o)
from pashiesplace :
I feel the same way. Far too many lives were lost for me to ever want to be completely numb to the thought of 9-11.
from mamaness :
i'm on this one yahoo group for Christian moms that has been a great motivator for me. Lots of email though!
from pashiesplace :
I missed it but have to admit, I wish I looked sooner :P
from cleanstart :
I did not see it, but kinda wish I did now. LOL....
from me-undaunted :
you thief! :o) happy sweet birthday to sophie, yay.
from sunnflower :
There is something about comfort food - my mom makes a cheese casserole with tomato sauce that just really makes me feel warm inside.
from pashiesplace :
Aww Happy Birthday weekend to Sophie! Feels like fall has arrived after the first Sept. b-day hits, doesn't it? It must be a hard, very hard day for your family. Brian's jesture was sweet. Something that would make me want to cry as well.
from bluebonnet :
Ahh willingly egging on a rooster, you are a brave woman! Good idea having that umbrella, my mom used to carry a gold club....;) I had one when i was in elementary school. meanest son of a gun ever. It always tried to attack us and chased my dog into the street on several occasions. We thought it was super funny until he attacked my 2 year old nephew. He was put to rest after that, poor thing.
from me-undaunted :
i miss that about church...the fellowship and always having people that genuinely care about me.
from mommylap :
I love chile relleno too! I am always looking for them on the menu of any mexican food joint I go to. The hispanic population in Mpls is growing and luckily we are getting a lot of excellent authentic and cheap Mexican resturants here. I don't think I'll ever try a tripe burrito, but it's still nice.
from minstrelite :
Thanks for the nice note and for adding me as a favorite. Have a blessed day - this is the day that the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it.
from pashiesplace :
Maya has been the same way walking home from school. I've found even juice makes ALL the difference. ((Hugs))
from marlen816 :
Janie - Glad the first day went well. Devin got the "mean" 4th grade teacher, too and ended up loving her. It was her best school year EVER! Praying the same for Victoria!
from sunnflower :
Dear Janie - condolences on the death of someone so very dear to you.
from pashiesplace :
(((Janie)))
from mommylap :
Thanks for that wonderful reflection on what sounds like a great time! In spite of turning into a dandelion puff head, I mean. I am jealous of all the saltwater and seafood. I get lake water and walleye- which is not as wonderful (to me). I'm toasting your homecoming with a Diet Dr. Pepper right now.
from cleanstart :
Sounds like you all had so much fun! I'm glad that you all enjoyed your time together. I'm jealous... I wanna be laying on the beach!
from marlen816 :
Was it a 5 lb. block of cheese and a bag of groceries? LOL Anyway, thanks for the call today. Glad you had a great week at the beach.
from twisted-mind :
Glad to have you back and I'm so glad you had a good time.
from corajoy :
I love it! I never thought I'd say that about short hair. . .But I really do love it! Sometime I'll post a pic of my hair. . .It's past my bum, and brown.
from wifemotherme :
Oh wow! I have always thought darker was much more beautiful than blonde but I think your the exception. Hair style and color are perfect. Your adorable
from pashiesplace :
Love the hair!
from mommylap :
Good haircut! Excellent attitude also. I lift my diet dr. pepper to you!
from twisted-mind :
Your hair looks great! You look great. Now is the time I call you names under my breath. No, just kiddin... I love the new look.
from dear-nobody :
hi, sorry to bother you. i read in the ultimate diaryland mommies resource, that you had an eight year old named victoria. i was just wondering how old you were when you had her, im 12 and due in march, im curious of all the other teen mothers and mothers on here. please reply.
from corajoy :
Did you forget? God has a sense of humor. It's just. . . Yeah, ironic is a good word for it. Very good.
from marlen816 :
You are too cute!
from mommylap :
I am addicted to diet dr. pepper myself.
from fat-girl1 :
Hi! Thanks for your note and encouraging words! :o)
from sunnflower :
The mom's weekend sounds great. Hope you are feeling better!
from corajoy :
*giggles* Want to see the one with the innertube. . .And if you want to post the other, I'd love to see it too! Glad things are going well for you, especially visiting family. That can be really hard. Ttyl! Joy
from me-undaunted :
i hope you're having fun :o)
from katress :
Hey, take it as a compliment! I know that I certainly would. :)
from sunnflower :
Now that's a scary chili story!
from sunnflower :
So sorry about the death in your family. Your thoughts on her passing were very beautiful. God Bless.
from marn :
I'm sure you will. Jess and I are still working it out bit by bit. We had a hard time making the transition from kid-mom to two adult women, one of whom happens to be the mom. I'm trying to get better about being less bossy, but it's hard--I was the oldest child in my family, so I'm used to being bossy :)
from mamaness :
You tell Marlen i'm really glad she got to see y'alls aunt. Hope you sisters enjoy your weekend!
from me-undaunted :
(((((((((((((((janie))))))))))))))))))) happy belated mommy's day!
from klcranford17 :
e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll be happy to give you the PW
from mamaness :
No hurry! My husband was asking for it again, thats all ;)
from marn :
Awwww poor Tommy. Glad to hear that ended well, too. What is it with guy cats and territorality, eh? I mean, we had Zub fixed young and he *still* gets all testosterone about the yard. *Sigh*.
from monkeymia :
I'm a total diet soda addict too, I get Nutrasweet withdrawal if I go too long between cans of Diet Pepsi Twist. How embarrassing.
from mamaness :
That enchilada cassarole that was in Mama Recipes was yours, right? The diary is gone & I want the recipe again!!!
from momma3 :
Your pictures are great!! Your children are so adorable and you are a pretty mommy. Hope you had a great Easter. I hope your little one is feeling better!
from sunnflower :
Have a happy easter in OC. I am so so jealous! Take those digital pictures and let me know when you start up your fotolog!
from marn :
Pictures will be coming about the time of my birthday--I get a kick out of marking the changes a year makes on that special day. PLUS my workout buddy, Glen, will be back from vacation then and he's agreed to pose with me--the guy is SERIOUSLY pumped (has biceps nearly as big as my thighs) so it will make a funny picture, and show the difference between what happens to men's and women's bods through weight lifting. Oooooh, your own gym equipment! Very cool. I've tried working out at home, but I don't have the self-discipline--I admire yours. The social aspects of the gym are one of the things that help me deal with the pain/boredom of working out.
from mamaness :
LOL! Greatstory. I am glad your hair turned out nice!!
from momma3 :
So how did your hair turn out? I just colored mine from auburn to a boring brown cuz Michael said he was sick of seeing my hair 'red'. Arg! ha! I'd like to try that new stuff! :) I can't handle this boring brown! lol
from mamaness :
rofl how cute! I love jackets too. They are fun.
from sunnflower :
You are having some adventures. Who needs a waterpark?
from momma3 :
Sounds so much like a night at my house. :) I hope you are able to get some good sleep tonight!
from revmetalhead :
Eating is just something you have to do so you can get your work done. I've never understood how people like to eat, for eating sake. Perhaps its because I grew up on Chef-Boy-Ardee and Swansons Frozen TV Dinners! (Can I have your desert?)
from wifemotherme :
breastmilk cake ....Now that is just gross. But now if you need help in posting a pic of a stressed person let me know and I will upload one to you ASAP.....I am not allowed to add pics of myself in my diary - its that whole submissive thang hahahah
from sunnflower :
I just added you to my DLand favorites. I can really relate to so many of the things you write about. I understand about the crab soup.
from wifemotherme :
I sure hope the baby gets to feeling better! Wow on the weight loss. Seems like every time I turn around I am bumping into a new Pro anorexia diary. Its nice to hear about someone so close to goal while doing it the right way. That motivates me. Did you manage to change the font on your diary? It seems like its easier to read but maybe I am just use to it now.
from sunnflower :
You certainly should have sat on her. Sorry to hear the flu is making the rounds of your house - it just got done over her. Thank goodness I got that flu shot. I still like the Toy Story movies (we are all big kids at heart) but now I am liking Monsters, Inc. - just too cute.
from marn :
There is no horror quite like stepping on something warm, squishy and slightly log-like in the bathroom. I was afraid to raise my foot for a moment and when it registered what it might be, for a split second I was actually relieved ... THEN the squick of puke kicked in. *Sigh*. Really, you have to love cats to put up with this nonsense.
from sunnflower :
Hi and thanks for your wonderful note - you are indeed right about not holding out too much hope for a change to the white coat aversion your daughter has but you never know. You could be the lucky one. I really like your diary and I'm glad to have found it through you note - glad my banner ad caught your eye! I love your layout but I don't see any links under the photo. It may be something about my browser bu it may be possible that others may be having that problem too so I thought I'd let you know.
from wifemotherme :
love the new layout but I cant seem to find any contact info from the diary itself. I had to go thru your profile to get to the notes part.
from marn :
Janie, it's our special power. We must all pledge to only use it for good, eh. ;-)
from lucasmommy :
Speaking of "Peeps"...I think you'll really find this website amusing. http://www.peepresearch.org/
from twisted-mind :
Hi! I like the new layout! Every time I tried to click your guestbook it wouldn't let me. Maybe it was just my computer.
from topazgirl :
See, I can do it too?? Sneaky, aren't we?
from angstrom :
a God's valentine for you: http://angstrom.diaryland.com/021402.html
from marlen816 :
What do you mean you were "googled"??
from marlen816 :
I am cereal, too! LOL
from marlen816 :
Hey goober! No entries since the 1st, huh? What is wrong with you? J/K I am sure that you are doing something wonderfully domestic for your family instead of wasting time writing in this silly thing! Talk to you later!
from tara10573 :
thought i would leave you a note, had fun going out today and what a peaceful time it was without kids. Hope all was ok once Brian got back home. i'll write more later
from nacwolin :
Wow..."dearly beloved"....makes me sound like I have passed onto Glory! LOL :-)
from nacwolin :
OK - this thing is very strange....couldn't people you don't even know enter your user name and read your stuff? -Nicole
