Jen, I'm going to offer my advice. But, I'm certainly not going to tel you to follow it. After Ed broke up with me with no real reason, I was floored. He wanted to still get together and hang out. NO! NO! NO! I think it really must be the worst thing for your. He's able to continue to do whatever he wants and you're the one who's getting pulled apart. Say no when he asks to go somewhere. Don't let him call. He obviously doesn't deserve someone as wonderful as you. And you're selling yourself short by letting him get away with all this.

I would ask the prinicpal what course of action would be best to ask for just that -- that they should come to you. Maybe send a letter to the parents letting them know that you have an "open door" policy??

I have an unhealthy relationship with money too. I find The Limited and Ann Taylor loft to be so addicting, and I always find some reason to justify my purchases... then I get home and look at my checkbook and I'm like AAH! And sometimes I'll have more than plenty of money and still feel broke and think that I shouldn't be spending anything. So you're not alone, we all have spending issues.

I just bought the Origins [they have a store in pentagon city] Charcoal mask. Ever since I quit smoking, my skin has been bad. NOt horrible, but bumpy and a few break outs and I've never had acne before! This mask has done wonders and I've only used it twice!!!!! It was well worth $18!!!!!

I know the type of girl. When I was in high school my friend, let's call her Lyn, was the popular one and I was the tag-along friend. Well in our early twenties I blossomed(as in lost all kinds of weight while she gained) and started dating. Every time I would break up with a guy she would start chasing him. Going so far as to get them drunk and then kiss them. EVERY ONE OF THEM. After she did that she would come crying to me, confessing and saying that it was just an accident. Yeah, whatever. She is now strapped with an 8 year old, one more on the way and a loser boyfriend that just got out of jail for the bazillionth time. Sometimes justice is served in its own unique way.

KiKi is like that too -- treating bookstores like libraries. I have issues with that. A person spends a long time to write a book. I think that they should be able to get their $20 for you to read their works. If not, go to a library. What sucks is that when I go into BaN or some such store, all the covers are bent from people like you and Kiki and I can't buy the book! ;o) I too read books once...but then I sway or sell them and get more. Or I lend them out. In college, we had a book group of sorts. One person would buy a book and if you wanted to read it, you'd chip in $1 so that the person got to get another when theirs came back tattered and torn .... :o) when do I get a call?

I haven't really been a regular reader of your journal, but I happened to come to your page today and was reading through some older ones. I am sure you are over this now, but the whole thing with being taken off of master teaching was something I could completely relate to. When I was student teaching I always got nothing but positive feedback from my mentor teacher, then in May she started expressing all of these doubts out of nowhere, including the doubt that I would be ready to have my own classroom the following year without her there. It totally freaked me out and made me lose so much confidence (and a friendship with her). In any case, I just wanted to tell you that you will do fine once you have your own classroom! I have survived--and enjoyed--my first three years of teaching and it is SO MUCH easier than student teaching ever was. It's also MUCH more fun. :)

Yay for getting out of school! I started my Master's 5 days after graduating with my Bachelor's, and man, was that rough. In retrospect, I'm glad I did it in a year so now it's over, but oh boy, did it hurt. Best of luck!

Hey Jenn! Once you get into the whole girly thing, you don't want to go away from it. It's great! I do have some advice for you. 1) clinique 3 step process -- it works miracles. powder, lip gloss, eye shadow. 2) for the hair: ponytails are your friend.
