hehehe me and anne did exactly the same last week. We had a free period so went to the study area to revise for our exam tomorrow and ended up sifting through univesity prospectuses. We obviously noticed the irony(?) and laughed about it but I was doing it again today. Instead of revising like a good child who wants to get into a uni, i was leafing through the pages of the Sussex Uni prospectus torn between home... and ... home... to return to the south or live it up in the "norf" by goin to liverpool? That is the question. Oh the strife. I also have death on my mind but maybe for different reaosns to you. I have not been indulging into Larkin's works but have briefly done in the past. I find his poetry too short. Well, the poems in his "best of" style attempt were but then they say a lot.

I think you've confused the word "honor" for "worship." It is against Catholic faith to worship anyone besides God, therefore it would be against the faith to worship Mary. Catholics HONOR Mary because of her special role in the church, being the mother of God.
I think you completely misunderstood whatever quote you read from the Vatican.
