Just had to say, I love the way you write. Nothing extra, nothing superfluous -- the opposite of me. :) Incidentally, some harnesses are built for two -- and you can pull heavier loads that way.

i stopped three entries in (reading backwards) to thank you for the chills and tears and smiles... i drove from work to the dakota the night john was shot... i also worked a reycling conveyor belt in buffalo, ny and found all sorts of magic... your diary name brought me here, wondering if the "elephant" part meant you were somehow being ironic as elephants never forget accoring to horton and dr suess, so how could an elephant be lost, or was there a physical or other reason for the choice, and my mind wanders about like this a lot (and i have been away from dland for so long but recent habits have me back for the moment)... i think i like you... hope you don't mind :)

Smoke & drink. Drink & smoke. It hits me hard when I watch that show. I'm halfway into season 2. I laughed so hard when the Drapers were picnicking and Don tossed his beer can into the park and Betty shook all the trash and left it on the grass. There are SO many things in the show that really shake your view on how society has changed since the 60's!!

heeey -i've actually got kafka on the shore, but havent read it yet (amongst many other books that i havent yet started). murakami, though, has got to easily be one of my favorite authors - so brilliant and strange. completely fucked up. also, im jealous that youre seeing mogwai soon. both times ive seen them, they've actually brought me to tears like a retarded little emo girl (which i'm not). x

man, that last entry (two parter) really made me feel so home sick. it reminded me of nights i used to have with my friends back home, the late night taco bell runs, the dates, awkward pauses and moments that feel perfect, dancing to awkward songs that i dont think were meant to be danced to, but loving it all the same. good stuff.... really good stuff.
