Thanks! I'm almost recovered from everything that happened that day (still miss my puppy!) and I'm trying to look on the bright side. Surely next time I move will HAVE to be better. Last time I moved we nearly rolled the truck at about midnight, and then after we hopped out the front cabin tipped forwards. I figure I've had my share of bad luck (and bad truck rentals!)

I agree, it's totally cultural. I know it's not about me as a person, it's about what he wants for his son and he doesn''t understand that A just can't be what he wants him to be. I just feel bad for A, his father is so messed up that he hurts everyone in his family and that makes it harder for A to leave. That I think is not about culture, but about his personality. I think given patience and time things will work out.

i actually just put my degree on hold and took a year off, and then reapplied for a different course at a different uni through UAC in november of the following year. so i never actually quit uni, although i was definitely not ever planning to go back to sydney uni. did you take a year off or actually quit?

i really feel flattered you like my writing. its one of those days i need someone to tell me something good! i am from wollongong area (kiama actually!) and wollongong uni has a great reputuation for being a very cruisy place to study. the campus is gorgeous and it has a fantastic reputation. if i wasn't so sick of the sight of wollongong, i'd go there myself. i am swapping from u.sydney to u.nsw. don't be fooled by what lia says about the gothic-ness of u.sydney..have you seen the library?!
