Referring to your April entry, I like that Diaryland hasn't become all gadgety and networked and share-all, etc. It's one of, or THE, safest diary sites around. My cyberbully was handed my life on an ornate platter because I had no idea that my Blogger diary (now deleted) updates were being fed to my Yahoo profile! I didn't even know I'd had a Yahoo profile. I just used the email and the status update thingy from time to time. Everything is set to share automatically, even in this age of cyberbullies, cyberstalkers, and identity theft. I have my diary coded not to appear in search engines, not to appear in Diaryland's lists, and also not to allow text selection or right-click, to make it more difficult (doubtfully impossible) for my cyberbully to copy and print my entries as she'd claimed to have done before. If it changed, I doubt I'd trust it anymore.

I've started my new blog. It's h2ophobic.wordpress.com. I hope to get caught up with my reading too. Take care! P.S. Are you writing somewhere new? Is that why you locked up? I miss you!
from taken-by-you :
I would love it if you came back, although I don't update often here. I miss seeing your name in red. For what it's worth.

Happy Birthday!
from nixtress :
Have a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend!!
from h2ophobic :
Thanks so much for your note (blushes modestly.) Are you back in NM? I miss your entries!
from eowyn86 :
Thanks for reading between the lines, Ricky - I'm glad you saw my hidden message of housewifery ;-) It's not that that's the only thing I want to do, but ultimately I think I would find it much more satisfying than faking it through something else...
from eowyn86 :
Hmmm... in regards to your note, I don't really know what kind of job I'm looking for. Well, I know what "kind"... it's just hard to put a label on it. I like proofreading, correcting grammar, looking things up, working in offices that don't include much customer involvement... etc. Ideally I would do proofreading or some such thing, but those jobs aren't exactly cropping up everywhere, if you know what I mean. Ah well - I'm sure you struggle with similar things at times, given that writing and graphic design are both art forms, and it can be very hard to find ideal job situations that actually involve using those skills... without stressing you out too much.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
from nixtress :
I think time has helped me gain some perspective. I've made amends to the people I hurt, have apologized until I'm blue in the face and have tried to live my life since in a way that shows people CAN change...self acceptance and forgiveness is a hard thing. I guess, down deep, I wonder---if I can't forgive myself, will anyone else ever be able to forgive me or at least accept me for my flaws and love me regardless? Time will tell. Hindsight is a wonderful teacher.

Big blank screen instead of entry :( Have you considered leaving Dland?
from mycafelatte :
where's your page? It comes up blank?
from fightn4life :
Hi Ricky, where are you...Blank page??? I miss your entries. I had to lock my diary when my world became a lonley one on the mountain. :( If you would like my user name/password e-mail me at [email protected] or leave a note in my profile notes. I tried to log onto yourspace and request an invite to your friends list. Sigh...I just can't get it right tonight. I saw your link on Pattis page. I am "Sandy" the cowgirl leaning on the fence. Take care my faraway friend. Sandyz
from lonelylatina :
6/14/07 - dude, stop with the phantom entries. ugh! :-P
from nixtress :
Hmmm dland has had you glowing red on my faves list for three days straight and I haven't seen an update. Am I missing something?
from eowyn86 :
I think any kind of Alaskan photography from you would be a wonderful idea. When are you getting done with the fish business? Hmmmmm - as for the digital camera - I might not be the best person to ask on that, considering I don't really use digital, and my main "artistic" camera is over 20 years old. But I will say that it's a Nikon and has lasted a long time (obviously), so I've always considered that a good brand. Also, if I were looking for a digital camera for myself, I would be sure to get something that gave the option of manual controls for shutter speeds and f-stops. I don't know how much experience you've had with using those things, but even if you haven't, they can be great to experiment with, and can add to the level of control you have over the images. Anyway, I'm definitely glad that you're updating again, and I hope you'll be able to get online more often :-)

from nixtress :
Otay, well, either I'm blind, blonde (yes, this one's true) or an idiot because I saw no link for an email addy at the wordpress site. :( I have an older email from you saved in my email account...I'll try emailing you there, maybe! Lemme know if you get it?
from mycafelatte :
bah.. doesn't matter. I tend to panic. your entries amuse me anyway...Hopefully I don't sound TOOO sarcastic.. I jest. just playing around. ok.. so i'll order a beginner book, "What, that country above us isn't another State?". I think its in 3rd publication now.
from mycafelatte :
you should have a delete function on your notes so that when a canadian gets super sensitve and thinks the world is out to get her, she can delete her entries becuase she'd realize the world doesnt' revolve around her and people might actually be responding to something in the blog authors post. okay? look into that for me? ok. thanks.
from lonelylatina :
3/25/07 - i just purchased a new bed. the thing i'm most excited about is that i'm finally going to use the 100% egypitan cotton sheet set that you gave me for my birthday about a year or so ago. thanks again my friend. i will be thinking of you tonight as i lay on my new bed and beautiful sheets.
from h2ophobic :
I've wondered now and then why you ended up in your current job. Because, even though you try to hide it ;0), it's pretty obvious that you hate it. I think I figured it out this morning. When you get to Alaska, if you're not able to find a job, you could be a temp office worker. Now that you've learned all these office and accounting skills, it will help you put food on your table. There's always a reason and things always work out. If I've learned anything in this stroll we call life...those are two of them! Good luck, I'll miss you when you move. I hope it ends up that you can take your computer with you. If not, pop into a public library now and again and catch us up on your life. You've become very important to so many people!
from eowyn86 :
Aww Ricky, thanks. That's probably the best thing anyone could say to me. *Hugs*
from dream-sophia :
I come to read his diary whenever I'm feeling....lonely....or sad.... He makes me laugh... .then helps me cry when things are bringing me down.... and to remember that I'm not alone in my loneliness.... surrounded by people.... [please excuse....but I just wanted to express this]
from mugwhump :

from eowyn86 :

from eowyn86 :
Now Ricky, don't let the gold membership thingie serve as an excuse to not receive comments - you could just go to haloscan and get the same kind of comments that I have on my diary - the free kind, because I'm probably just as cheap as you when it comes down to it ;-)
from mycafelatte :

i never knew you'd written such a lovely blurb about me and why i'm on your favourites list way way back in january till i'd googled myself (oh, the vanity) and found that entry. thank you so much! must admit i haven't been reading diaries much of late... sorry... will get around to it... Lots of hugs and end of year greetings!!!
from mugwhump :
Thanks for the answers. I had to refresh myself with the questions. I should have added to #2) an "IF" you have one .... LOL. and in regards to MC - she said she was hanging up her blogging hat back in June. She said something about giving more focus to God and her job. I've seen her pop up on MSN chat once in a while, but she never responds.
from nixtress :
Ten days. How are you?
from tracqs :
So, my younger brother has decided he wants to go to Alaska to be a fisherman .... I told him I know a guy ... Would you point me in the right direction ... what does he need to know, do, save? I'll email you more.
from nixtress :
That's a really tough situation to be in. With temptation staring you in the face...I don't know if there are many people who could actually SAY no. We all have moments of weakness. We all get lonely. You didn't drown in it, you just swam a bit. Best to make it very clear to her, however, what your intentions are because doing otherwise will be leading her along and that's not fair. Big hugs, Mr. Turmoil.
from rebeckajane :
Yeah it was that and I was told something else too. Regardless, I don't really mind being a dork.
from catie-dids :
I wanted to call. . .but there are reasons I didn't. . .I miss you and kind of feel you right now. We need some us time. . .wanna meet in the middle?

ACTUALLY...would you consider doing a guest entry for me here?:-P I would love it.
from xevilsuziex :
Hey, Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! I hope it's a good one! Thanks for thinking of me! =)
from rebeckajane :
I know Mr Ricky, but you tell that to the people who think I'm stalking you! I even got an email from "unknown" expressing their concern over me getting your pic put on a pillow! Obviously those who think I'm stalking did not read previous entry where it said you sent the pillow to me..sheesh lol...anyhow..I'm not done with that dare and I WILL be going through with it, as soon as I get my camera, we should of made a bet Mr Ricky ;o)
from on-a-string :
Thanks for the compliment!:) I guess maybe it's good that I come off a little bit older. I AM going to run for president! First thing first, get my education!:) Although, I am not sure I am intelligent enough to run for president.
from mugwhump :
I got the "I don't need no stinkin ...." comment. I even read it in a Mexican accent, but then again I love that movie, and I use that expression regarding many things myself. You always make me laugh - and sometimes with you. LOL! XXXOXXX
from libbyo :
came across your diary and have been enjoying the read... just thought I would stop in and say hi!
from lonelylatina :
10/27/06 - WoW! YOU miss ME? WoW!
from eowyn86 :
I think you're saying that every person is needed somehow...or that they matter - and no one's in a group for no reason, I guess. See, you did say something ;-)
from rebeckajane :
Mr Ricky, I think I speak on behalf of all your followers, that it's been 7 days since you wrote and we are in need of a Ricky Rant, of some sort. I personally need to read at least one Ricky entry a week (this does not mean I'm in love with you..tee hee). Did you go on hiatus without letting us know? It's because I havn't sung for you yet isn't it? :P
from ms-do :
I'm adding you because of rebeckajane. I'm interest (or is that a vouyer?) in what's going on in Ms Becka's life she much younger, better looking and far more sexy than me but we have somehow travelled the same kind of road. Ok that's just all babble....i don't update much now it's kind of hard working full time, caring for 2 boys, and now fitting in a "Boyfriend" (still can't believe i say that) of my own.....smile
from h2ophobic :
Somehow I missed your 9/11 entry until today. I have wanted to say so many times what you said in that entry. People who think that we're on the OFFENSIVE rather than the DEFENSIVE amaze me. Where were they on 9/11? It always makes me think of what I told my kids about bullies..."You may NOT throw the FIRST punch. You absolutely MAY throw the LAST punch." I'm used to listening to people say they hate our leadership. I've been hearing that for as long as I can remember - regardless of who our leader was. What I'm not used to is the fact that MILLIONS of people hate ME - without knowing anything about me - simply because I'm an American and (gasp of horror) a Christian. How sad that is.
from rebeckajane :
did you say your "awesome" aussie accent? :P
from eowyn86 :
Thanks so much Ricky! All I really want to do now is meet some good Christian people for friends, and then I should be okay. I'm so glad you've been having a good time in Alaska! It looks awesome. I always get this mental picture of a big snow-covered place with eskimos, but I'm glad it isn't really like that ;-) Hope you'll get the chance to stay there permanently if that's what's in store for you!
from mugwhump :
Thank you for your note. I especially appreciate it that you responded while you were away on holidays. - thanks!
from nixtress :
If you send me an email so that I have an addy to reply to, I'd gladly send you the password again :)
from nixtress :
I completely expect pics and detailed descriptions. Got it? I mean it?! Ohio is so far removed from Alaska...and I'm traveling vicariously through you :) Glad to see that you're realizing a dream.
from mugwhump :
You do realize that Pheobe Cates is married to Kevin Kline - and has been for several years now. Don't mean to burst your bubble. She is cute though. :-)
from eowyn86 :
Aw, thanks Ricky. I meant that quote in a completely half-joking way too. I mean, it would be cool if it happened, but I'm not counting on it. Maybe there's just something about good writers that make them pack rats - perhaps they just pay attention to the little things and hang onto them, which makes them better at writing about poignant things. :-)
from on-a-string :
You've been tagged:) You can read the latter part of my entry for details!:)
from nixtress :
Hey! Just wanted you to know that you've been missed while on hiatus! And when you come back, you gonna share passwordy goodness? Sending good thoughts your way :)
from marinka-mp :
Hey Sunshine. How are you? First you dont update for a long time and when i try to go in there to leave you a comment its locked. Is everything ok with you? Do i need to call you?
from on-a-string :
I know, I know...I moved! What can I say?:) Sometimes it happens. Sometimes it's time for a change!:) But, hey, you understand that! And, uh, Yes SIR! I won't move the next time you are on Hiatus!:) Miss ya. -Beth

Ha! I think "da bomb" is relatively acceptable;)
from mugwhump :
Hey Ricky your so fine. Your so fine you blow my mind! Hey Ricky .... Hey Ricky ... Sorry - lost my mind for a second and had a flash back to that song from the early 80's. Anyway - make sure to go check out Messy Christian today (March 23rd entry). She has a picture posted of something rather familiar to you. :-)
from mugwhump :
I think my biggest hurdle (around having "Me" on a mug) is that I don't have an 'image'. And frankly my "helmet head" picture that I use on Flickr, isn't really ... ah... marketable - or me. Sigh . . . maybe someday when I grow up . . . But I still think it's a very cool idea, and I hope you make some money off of it. :-)
from h2ophobic :
Dear Ricky, Thanks for another "laughed out loud and spewed coffee all over my computer screen" entry. Hugs from MT.

from thisismywish :
Hello! I will do so. Thanks so much. Blessings.
from thisismywish :

from thisismywish :
Happy Valentines to you too.
from breatheasigh :
*slaps you for the "fart head" comment* :oP
from breatheasigh :
i love reading your journal..your just so..real?..sweet?..genuine?..and funny?..aren't you?..or am i just gullible? lol..ok so miss spanish eyes..i'd just go with the flow..if you think she wants more than a *booty call* and obviously that is what you want too..with someone..then definatly ask her out before valentine's day..speaking of which..i think valentines day is a beautiful time..unfortunatly (no i think fortunatly for now) i have no one to share that with..but it would be really nice if someone..anyone..would send me a flower..i don't want to beg..but if i have too *giggles just a lil*.. good luck with miss spanish eyes..
from mugwhump :
If its any consolation ... I hate Valentines Day too. Being married does not assure you of having a Valentine.
from eowyn86 :
Well, if you really want advice I'd say be careful about leading the poor girl on too far. I'm certainly no relationship expert, but it looks as though she is expecting something from you. So my advice is to be up front about things - don't lead her in a direction you don't intend to continue in - in other words, it may be "just kissing" to you, but much more than that to her - so find out about that before you get too far. And I've heard it said, "don't date someone you wouldn't marry." Because you never know how serious it could get. Okay, end of sermon. Really, I hope I don't sound preachy. But as a fellow female, I may be forced to become rather perturbed with you if you decide to act ungentlemanly in this relationship! ;-) Good luck with Valentine's Day though - whether single or on an fancy ol' date, I hope you have a good one.
from marinka-mp :
Babe I hate V-day as well. Who ever came up with Valentines day neesd to go back and erase it. Im with ya.
from lonelylatina :
2/08/06 - your "huh" entry had me crackin' up! it was so funny. thank you for that. sorry, i don't have any advice. i'm as clueless as you are :D
from lonelylatina :
2/08/06 - hey rick, you knight in not so shining armor, what the heck did you do?
from mugwhump :
My fondest wish for you is that the "perfect woman for you" would just glide on up into you life. Alas, it doesn't work for that. And for the record - as much as women want to be the rescued damsel - they don't know how to go about that either. Blame it on fairy tales that are just that - tales of fairies. I send HUGE HUGS your way. :-)
from fightn4life :
From my cyber part of the world you are one awesome knight, kinks in your armor and all. This makes you unique and irresistible. If you had no flaws you just might be b-o-r-i-n-g. Keep being you and if you do find a full suit of armor that fits please add an opening where it is important when nature calls. :) Sandyz

from tracqs :
So, yeah ...the "John" comment was on the day you were talking about wanting to be Mr. Cusack. I thought it was clever and cute and ... well, you didn't get it. Apparently I was wrong!! :-)
from h2ophobic :
It's a good thing that I never got into the habit of leaving comments instead of notes. Thank you for rewarding my laziness! Good luck in the freelance world. You'll shine, no matter where you are (and I'm not referring to your bald head!)
from thisismywish :
What, your comments aren't going to work?? Does this mean I am actually going to have to go through the effort of leaving notes?? Oh, well. I suppose it was about time I got some excerise. Oh! Congratulations on your unemployment...that's weird saying that. -Beth
from thisismywish :
Howdy! I just recently locked my diary. I tried to e-mail you, but I think I somehow managed to mess something up. I can give you a pw, if you are interested, if you e-mail me at customblah at yahoo dot com. Thanks, Rick!
from h2ophobic :
Sometimes I think I should have some sort of tape recorder, so I can tape myself cracking up at your entries and mail it to you!
from h2ophobic :
Oh Ricky! I'm so sorry! Be a good boy and let your mom take care of you. I'll be praying for you.
from thisismywish :
Wow, I didn't clarify. Lol. No, not engaged:)
from thisismywish :
How did I miss that you were, for sure, moving to Alaska?! Wow...I am an airhead. Yeah, I agree...I don't think writing is a science, it's more of an artform:) And Calvin and Hobbes rocks! I love them!
from h2ophobic :
That was wonderful! I hope you find your wilderness!
from h2ophobic :
I DEFINITELLY do not recommend riding a motorcycle to Alaska. Uh...can you say SNOW AND ICE for the majority of the year? I'm figuring that Alaska weather is much like Montana weather - only more snow and ice. The people I know here only ride their bikes for 3-4 months out of the year. What would you do for the other 8-9 months? Walk? Not in sub zero temps, baby! I see people move here all the time without being prepared for the weather. It's a nightmare for them! Every winter, our local news has to report about someone dying of hypothermia. Because they're not prepared to live in our climate. The week before Thanksgiving a 23 year old man died of hypothermia while trying to walk the 6 miles home from where he was. I hate to rain on your parade, but my mother mode is kicking in. You NEED some sort of plan other than getting there. You need at least 3 things before your move: 1) A place to live. 2) A vehicle to drive. 3) A job or a good prospect for a job. Ok, the scolding is over. Carry on.
from breatheasigh :
i'd go for trading your truck in for a motorcylce and cruise your way through america..canada and across alaska..but that's just the opinion of a girl who has never been on a motorbike (but would love too) and who has never been to american or canada (but would love too)..maybe you could leave it up to music..if i am having problems deciding something sometimes i listen to the next 3 songs to help me decided lol..crazy i know but it has worked! for me anyhow..becka
from mugwhump :
Can you hear my neurons firing? They learned a new word today -de-lurker-. How cool, but weird, is that? Thanks.
from mugwhump :
OK - I give ... what's 'De Lurker'?

i haphazardly located your "diary" tonight (or rather, this morning) and i have found it to be quite interesting as well as kinda confusing at times. lol if that makes any sense at all to you. i read back several entries (to somewhere right before christmas) and i still don't get exactly WHY you are moving to alaska other than the obvious statements about the fishing and stuff. i lived there for a little over a month and i will say it was rather interesting. you mentioned driving a truck, a route, and clothing related to your job and that made me think of a uniform company i used to work for. and that made me think that you kinda resemble the transport driver we had back then. and so that's all kinda wierd. my train of thought as well as the coincidences. i like the ease of your entries and i don't think you should be so hard on yourself because you are, in fact, a good looking guy. i'm lost on the celibacy thing...guess i didn't get to those entries?... and although you might think the kissing can be forgotten...i really don't think it can...just give it a few more tries..... ok...well...i've "delurked" if that's what you were talking about. not that i was ever really a lurker since you were just discovered. ;P Buen viaje!
from h2ophobic :
You are profound! And able to pee anywhere you want! What more could a woman want from a man? ;-)
from thisismywish :
Thanks for the compliments, Rick! (smile)
from shadesofblk :
You made me smile and remember my trek with MD 20/20..smooth but potent. Enjoyed passing thru.
from thisismywish :
Happy, happy New Year's from all of us to you...well, just from me, actually. How are you?
from nixtress :
Happy New Year (early)!
from dream-sophia :
Merry X-mas to you too...:) !!! I hope it's a good one.
from h2ophobic :
Merry, merry, merry Christmas! Thanks for all the moments of laughteryou've brought into my life this year!
from h2ophobic :
Thank you for always bringing a smile to my face. I'm sorry about your truck...I hope you find enough $$ to make your dream move to Alaska. Merry Christmas! I don't have any dollars to donate to your cause, but I'm sending a cyber hug from MT.
from nixtress :
Merry Christmas! (early)
from lonelylatina :
12/14/05 - you fool! put your list back up. don't you know it's gift giving time?...but your a guy. you have to make the first move. there's like a thousand woman in diaryland alone that want to be with you. i can only imagine all the woman you know in person that want you. i say you should start dating. what do you think?
from lonelylatina :
12/14/05 - that was a great thing you did for your grandmother. hope she gets better soon. not many people would have done that. goes to show what a great heart you have. you definitely need to share it with a good woman. what ARE you waiting for?...why did you take down your wish list? that's not right :(
from lonelylatina :
can you give me some info on the "Going To Alaska" store. thank you.
from thisismywish :
Hey there! I'm good. We just moved and I am just now getting back into journaling again. How are you??:)
from h2ophobic :
Chastity challenged...I love it and am stealing it. With or without permission (I guess if I have your permission, it wouldn't be stealing would it?) I use the phrase "truth challenged" all the time. Hey - how do we get the link to your new Alaska journal? If it's on your page, don't think that I'm an idiot...I've only had one cup of coffee and it takes at least three for me to remember my name!
from mycafelatte :
You raise a good point. Those SNL actors were funny, but what about Mike Myers, Norm MacDonald, Phil Hartman, Dan Akroyd, and Martin Short? Notably amusing too. Where do you reply to comments anyway? I never know the protocol.
from mugwhump :
I had the wildest dream last night ... and you were in it. You walked into my home as if you knew me, but I didn't recognize you at first. And NO I did scream that a strange man had walked in. I invited you to stay for dinner, and we were talking merrily away when I suddenly recognized you - shook your hand - and you explained that you'd thought you'd drop in on your way to Alaska. Then I woke up. Ricky! you really are a very charming gentleman. Even my husband like you. :-)
from lonelylatina :
11/15/05 - hope you're feeling better my friend
from scorpi07 :
Thanks for the belated birthday wish. And thanks for always being the honest and true you in your entries. You rock.
from third-person :
Read your guest entry on Clarity's site and it made me giggle. Thought I'd pop over and say hello. I'm a Christian and I've also read (and re-read) the Narnia books. So yeah, I'm a dork too.
from dream-sophia :
well...hey, hey back to ya...:)
from herskin :
I think a train trip across the country would be pretty amazing. I took one from London to Paris a few years ago, but I would like to take one across the US too.
from tracqs :
For the worst part of your entry, I was a bit saddened by the thought of your future exile into penguin-land (they do have penguins up there, don't they?) and subsequent departure from my internet world. Quite sad indeed.
from h2ophobic :
Hey! Did you get my email about the trucking companies in Alaska? I just realized that I sent it from work rather than from home. I'm pretty sure you'd know it's from me. After all, how many Carolyn's do you know in MT?
from in-her-life :
"Be still and know that I am God." That has always been a powerful one for me too. When I think of it, it always comes out in my mind as a booming voice. And when everything seems a mess in my life, it always helps me to become focused once again. Anyway, I just thought I would share.
from lonelylatina :
oh my gosh! i just noticed your question and answer page. duh. i thought you totally blew off the questions i asked but you didn't, you answered all of them. cool. thanks =D
from dream-sophia :
Thank you very much. For the tip...and the compliment. :)
from thisismywish :
Rick! I've been crazy busy, but I wanted to stop by and say "Howdy!" So, um....Howdy! -Beth
from h2ophobic :
Do you now why I like you so much? Because I often come to your diary and find MY thoughts on YOUR page! Maybe not in the exact words I'd use (I hardly ever say buttocks), but the thoughts are the same! I heart you!
from spring-da1sy :
Hey, I clicked on your banner and did some reading. Mind if I add you?
from thisismywish :
Yes! You can totally have my un and pw. If you e-mail me at atarifish at yahoo dot com then I will give it to you!:) I'll explain my locking on my blog:)
from h2ophobic :
You're so funny! Good luck out in the "real" world. Be sure to leave a note at home saying where you've gone, in case we have to send out a search party!
from candoor :
random note, just because.
from h2ophobic :
I too am a loner at heart. I've learned to "share" myself with my family and friends. And find a little time daily to be alone. But I must say, I'd rather sleep on the couch because Bill is snoring that have a bed all to myself. Hang in there Rick...she's out there. Waiting for your kiss.
from zencelt :
Hey there. I was reading your post today, and it reminded me of a poem I posted a few weeks ago. You may have read it before, but it seemed to suit your mood. Take a look: http://zencelt.diaryland.com/050803_13.html
from geeked-out :
Well I'm glad to know New Mexico has some cool people. They just weren't in the near vacinity to me. I will say it's beautiful there and the weather was amazing. I would move there for that alone. Thanks for the note =)
from h2ophobic :
Thanks for your sweet note. I'm still looking for the perfect Montana woman for you. Since you didn't come here when you were driving a truck...I'll lure you with a female!
from catie-dids :
I heart you.
from candoor :
you just became a favorite, see what a cowbell can do?... actually, I'm so way behind on my profile updating, it took falling off my chair with your last few entries to remind me that I have dozens of diaries I want to add, but I'll settle for you today :)
from fightn4life :
Thew cow bell was awesome. Loved it. Sandyz
from zencelt :
(Laughing so hard I'm crying over the cowbell!!) Sorry about the wallet though dude.
from fightn4life :
I am sorry about your identity theft, but this is a hilarious entry. Sorry I know not funny to you. I hope the fool that has your wallet leaves it in your mailbox, or at your front door. Please except my humble apology, for my idiocy as well. (Notice I said, MY idiocy) :) Sandyz
from this-i-know :
Your so funny, I am sure she'll be there soon, you just crack me up....... :)
from fightn4life :
Thank you so much for adding me to your favorites. Your faith is awesome and humor intoxicating. I look forward to more entries. Loved your letter to wife to be. Such a softy and the picture of you is great. Your awesome heart reminds me of my hubby…looks like a big ole mountain man, talks to me like a man in love. What a gift from God to any of us women that finds that combination in a man. Favor returned…you will be added to my list of must read diary's. Love your diary. Sandyz (BTW…it is great being a quitter…)
from h2ophobic :
Hey dude...have I told you lately that I heart you? I do - just because you're you! Exactly the way you are. I wish I had a younger sister...man...you'd be set up SO FAST!
from zencelt :
That was the weirdest and most entertining dislike list ever. Soft pencils, huh?
from evababy777 :
thank you.... i just read your "about me" page. every man's battle is such an awesome book. i read it to understand my husband better. it's very enlightening.
from thisismywish :
Meat rabbits, right? Hehehe. I once judged a class of meat rabbits once. It doesn't bother me a bit. The only thing that would have bothered me would be if one of my family members came in and said, "We're eating Chapman for dinner...you know- the biggest award winning rabbit in the State of WA? The one who stomps all the other one's at nationals? Yeah, we're having rabbit stew!" Now, THAT would bother me:)
from thisismywish :
Why on earth would you envy me? You're going fishing!
from thisismywish :
You know...I really hope so. You'd love this dude if he had his own blog:)
from h2ophobic :
I haven't told you this in a while...YOU ROCK! P.S. Thanks for your note - as usual your words made me smile!
from thisismywish :
I'm back TIMW- I couldn't stay away:)
from chickpea981 :
I clicked one of your banners and I've been reading you for the last 2 weeks. Just wanted to say hi and now I'm not a lurker anymore. And I took your little poll
from mugwhump :
Go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. You'll do a few comparison's to the Brilliant 70's version. But I think this one can stand on its own.
from reynedecoupe :
I'd think that any animal lover worth their salt would applaud you ending that bird's suffering.
from thisismywish :
There are WAY too many birds on this planet anyway.
from mugwhump :
I take back my comment about the Louisiana Purchase. That was something else. I completely forget why the French were getting to boot and ended up in Louisiana.
from mugwhump :
OK. You're really making me use my mental muscle today. History was a class I sorta was good at (unlike english and math). I believe the French and the English settled into Canada around the same time. Was is now Quebec and a little to the east from that was known as Acadia. I beleive that the French and the English lived fairly well together. English rule got a little huffy and began to kick some of the French out. Most of those French were 'sent' to you Louisiana's. Something to do with a document called the Louisiana Purchase. Anyway - that's why there is so much french down in that neck of the woods. You know - New Orleans and the "French Quarter" . .. So anyway, from what I recall the remaining French Canadian populace continued on relatively happily until the 1960's when a seperatist group arose, and is still working their fight today. Going back to the early French and English situation. France allowed the french to become Empire citizens, and in turn handed over the territory. However, there is a small island off of the east coast (kind of between our two countries) at the border that is an island owned by France. Can't think of what its call though. Google it. That's what I do. 2nd lesson in Canada today.
from mugwhump :
OK - here is my knowledge of Canadian history in brief. Canada was originally a British Colony, and part of the Empire. We, however, did not revolt back in 1776 when you yanks declared your freedom. In fact, if you look back in your history books you'll see that the US tried to get Canada on board to fight against Britian. But, we non-confrontational Canucks held our ground, said no to you yanks, and had our own little war against you. Now, back to the future. Canada has its own Constitution, but it was only relinquished from Britain about 25 years ago. Up until that time , our laws and legislation had to be run through Britian (I think). Once Britian released our constitution to us, we were able to run our own country without interference from Britian. However, the Queen still remains to be a figure head for us. And we still consider her our Queen, only without the law making stuff. The same goes for Australia and a few other countries. I know that I have much of my history fact garbled up, but I think you get the drift. On a completely seperate note: The operative word in the Urine Gone advertising is "Pet" urine odors. Being a pet owner ourselves, we have purchased said products on numerous occasions. And before your mind goes there - no - my husband nor I have a bladder problem. :-) Cheeky Monkey!
from mugwhump :
Oh Man!! I wrote this great long diatribe about the Queen and Canada, hit post, and suddenly remembered you're not paid up. CRAP!
from catie-dids :
Hey dude. . .I've totally updated TWICE this week! Both heart wrenching additions to my journal. . .I was waiting for your big comforting hug to soothe the stress from last week! I heart you!
from thehoneypot :

I loved Pump up the Volume. "Talk hard, I like that. It's like a dirty thought in a nice clean mind." Thanks for reminding me to rent it.
from h2ophobic :
**Warning...I may be overstepping my boundaries with this note** You BORROWED a car to visit cop-lady? AFTER she scolded you and refused to come pick you up? Face it buddy...you're hooked! Perhaps you two need to begin negotiations...marry and live in NM to raise your family THEN retire in TX? Bill & I have a similar agreement. He's agreed to stay in MT until Shelby graduates, then we will move to where HE wants to live. Life is too short to spend it alone...when you don't have to.
from nonannies :
Oh! Good, because LiveJournal is way better:) And, BTW, I loved your last entry:) -Beth
from mycafelatte :
i like your new layout. Your cabin dream is very literary. Its a good setting for a thriller, murder mystery or a summer romance. Not so much a comedy though, unless Chris Farley and a bat are involved.
from h2ophobic :
You are so funny! This could be the way to find the woman of your dreams. If you can find someone who will date you on piggy-back...she's the ONE.
from hardcorefan- :
You so totally rock like butterscotch! I don't think that I've laughed that hard since before Juddhole got all mushy and in love and crap! Have a wondermous day/night/whatever!
from stitchfish :
Your banner made me look! I enjoyed reading about you today! Be blessed! <><
from banefulvenus :
LOVE your banner!! : ) Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July weekend!
from misselyssa :
Hey, thanks for the new comment. Never really understood the last one... :)
from h2ophobic :
Hey Ricky, you ROCK and I'm keeping you on MY faves list. Really, isn't that all that matters??
from h2ophobic :
Bad Carolyn...I can't believe that I forgot to wish you Happy Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! P.S. Frontier house was filmed about an hour from here. There was a huge controversy over it, because they wouldn't let Montanans apply to be on the show. One of the men on the show divorced his wife and moved here. Just a little MT gossip/trivia for you.
from h2ophobic :
Your new Indian (NA) name shall be "He who breaks stucco." Go forth young man, with your new name and make us proud!
from h2ophobic :
What a funny entry! It reminded me of the time I took Mike to a counselor (school recommended.) Once she heard that my parents had died when I was 6, dollar signs came into her eyes and she never said another word to Mike. Needless to say, we only visisted her once.
from reynedecoupe :
Thank you for adding me. I really mean the thankyou, as you adding me gave me a chance to discover you.

from lonelylatina :
6/1/05- did you really understand what i wrote? that's cool!! the guy i like knows about my diary so i need to keep it on lock down. i don't think i'll be writing in it much but if i do i will give you the password if you want. cuidate ricky.
from eowyn86 :
Ah, Glenrose sounds familiar to me. I'd love to visit it sometime. Thanks for the article - it's too bad the author came to the wrong conclusion about the footprints, as many evolutionists do. "Anything but God" seems to be their philosophy. Anyway, I hope everything works out for you with the military thing. That probably sounds trite, but I don't want to say something like "I hope you get in" if that's not what God wants ;-) Sounds like you're at some type of a crossroads though, so I hope you'll trust God to make the right decisions. Good luck in Jesus!
from h2ophobic :
Wow! Usually you take my breath away with your humor...I wasn't prepared for you to take my breath away with your honesty! I'm so proud of you (I know...I sound like a mom...deal with it!)
from mugwhump :
I sent you an e-mail did you get it? I got an error message, but I wasn't sure if it was from your address or another one. :-(
from thehoneypot :
i left you a msg in comments about sex offenders list.. just wanted ao also say ,,, im in diaryland and not dairyland.. nope.. not a farmer..heehee
from warcrygirl :
Fucking fingers, I just can't type. I meant to type visit the NAMBLA homepage and just read what their mission statement is. Just makes you want to vomit.
from warcrygirl :
I think the reason it seems more prevalent is because the media is reporting it more. Remember: bad news sells better than good news. As a person who was sexually molested as a child I totally agree with you; anyone who harms a child in that manner should be killed immediately after conviction (especially if they confess). You want to see sick? Visit the NAMBLA
from h2ophobic :
The scariest thing anyone can ever do is raise a child. The world can be an awful, horrifying place. I keep my sanity by remembering that "I" don't keep my children safe, God does. That and being over-protective.
from lonelylatina :

from thisismywish :
Ha! I knew it. You wanna know why? Because my dad would say something like that: "Guess how many fish I caught? Zero!" I am doing alright:) Love in Jesus, Beth

Noooooo, the song goes like this: Bean, Beans, the musical fruit, The more you eat, the more you toot. The more you toot, the better you feel, So eat your beans at EVERY MEAL! Brought to you by the genius of Catie. I heart you nature boy!
from yeahimadork :
So I have been checking out your diary, and I was reading your "about me" page, and you mentioned meeting Tom Wopat... when I worked in daycare, about ten years ago, his son was one of the kids in the program. Well, needless to say, I was pretty retarded the first time I met him. It was weird...I used to love me some Bo and Luke Duke when I was a kid!
from mycafelatte :
hey, thanks for adding me to your buddy list. sorry if I get carried away with my opinions sometimes. I can't help it, I have them. I appreciate that you'll still link me even though you don't agree. I'll link you back ;)

I loved Goonies. How can they possibly hope to have a follow-up? It's like The Breakfast Club and Some Kind of Wonderful and other films of that genre---better left alone, in all it's original glory. What's that quote from Highlander..."there can be only one"? Yep. My thoughts exactly. I'll be lurking around, reading your archives a bit. Don't mind me.
from lonelylatina :
where are you at?

I'm not sure whether to say "Congratulations!" or "Shame on you!" You can have both and use whichever seems appropriate! ;-)

from thisismywish :
Hi there! Yes, it did run out and I am very depressed about it. Ricky I know you bought me the last one and I am VERY thankful to have such a good d-land buddy as you. This week I am committing to writing you a note every day that I am online. How's that for a thank you? Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! Happy Easter! Don't get food poisoned. *eek*
from h2ophobic :
Thanks for the sweet note. Just in case you didn't know...I think you're swell too!
from lonelylatina :
oh ricky you so funny. thank you for the note. i so needed that. take care.
from iwillsurvive :
Thanks for letting me know about the link! It's all fixed now. And, just so you know, I've never been this brash in my diary before. It's usually just about "Oh, at work this happened, and at home, this happened, and I feel, blah blah" lol. You just stumbled in at a very interesting time;) Welcome!
from catie-dids :
I love the notes section, I feel like it's my little secret way of communication with you. Not that you really need any more affirmation about how amazingly handsome you are - -well, you are. So how 'bout that help with my layout, sexy mama :)
from catie-dids :
I am really glad you popped on for a day, in the midst of your d-land vacation. . .although I was hoping that you'd stay away longer, as I wanted to write about my crush on you, because I have one. I do. I have a jones for you - laugh if you will. In anycase - I'm happy about the good date! Good dates are always "good" to have, even if they are only for the purpose of holding in your back pocket. You're a good guy, Rick. . .and handsome too. ~the red head you are all about :)
from catie-dids :
You really need MSN Messenger, and then you really need to be online with MSN Messenger on . . .then life wouldn't be so trivial for me.
from catie-dids :
Oh my heavens, you're adorable! What do you think about red heads?
from jewel8 :
I thought that was the eye from the Blair Witch Project. You make me laugh. Thanks

I LOVE YOUR JOURNAL..... lol i could read it forever......howd u get the the lil voice thing n there.....keep it up ....a great read
from thisismywish :
Hi! Thank you for saying I deserve a nice V-day. (Even though I had the worst one EVER) Anyway, God bless. Your sister in Christ, Beth
from mugwhump :
Ricky - I didn't take you're Valentine's entry as a slam against married people. Perish the thought. I have only been married two years, and ALL my previous V-days were spent as a single person. I didn't like Valentine's Day then, and I don't like Valentine's Day now. I think it's funny that most single people wish they were married, and many married people wish they were still single... On a personal note - I had a lousy Valentine's Day, and seriously contemplated drowning my sorrows in a vat of my favourite ice-cream. But ... I have a doctor's appointment on Friday, and didn't want to break her scales.
from catie-dids :
See, it's days like today that I know I love you! Happy SAD! or Happy VD (as I call it. . .you know the type you "get")! Hugs!
from johnny-t-h-m :
*applauds the notion of "i'm not gay; i just don't like women"* S.A.D. - at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, it stood for Soldier Appreciation Day. One more of Uncle Sam's days of "mandatory fun". It's just like all these Hallmark Holidays. If you aren't "free," then you have to up the ante every Hallmark Holiday in order to prove that you love your partner. Somehow you have to up the ante on those and still be able to give something for your partner's birthday, your anniversary, and let's not forget the winter holidays (whether it be Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, Yule, or some other holiday I haven't listed). I think Dogbert had it right when he eliminated every holiday and replaced them all with Dogbert Day. On Dogbert Day and only on Dogbert Day,one can celebrate all the customs from all the other holidays. Of course the "traditional" feast of Dogbert Day is the bald eagle...I'm not saying we kill endangered species, but condensing all holidays into one day is fine by me. Celebrate only two things: Dogbert day and your birthday. Think of the benefits. Sure the economy might be rough without the after Christmas sales events, but they can just make up for it with the after Dogbert Day sales events. Well enough of my rambling. Nny
from catie-dids :
Hey handsome. . . I was thinking about you a lot this weekend, knowing that you would be reading the entry that I just posted, and about how I feel like I've failed you. We've both had this rough bout with sexual purity and dating and general life stuff - and with one swoop I let go of everything I had resolved. Why is it so hard to be a Godly girl? I'm jealous of the long-hinnie class you're taking. . .I don't really have that here and I'm the one people are looking up to when I should be the one in the students seat. Ugh, when did we grow up and when did life become so hard?
from bohemianlife :
Hi there. I know this is going to sound odd from someone you have never heard from before but I have a question for you. My friend Clarity, who's diary I think you also read directed me to you for this question. I was asking her about how to play music clips on my site and she said she was only able to play 60 second clips because of her host, but that she knew you had an entire song before. So I was just wondering about where you host, the details and such. I really appreciate it and thanks so much for adding me as well. - Kristina

Hi, there. Found your "journey" quite by accident once, don't even remember how. I've seen that web site for the Triple X Church, by the way, and I think they are geniuses! Good uses of the resources and brains that God gives us. If you're interested, John Piper has an excellent method for combatting lust. I won't type the whole thing here, but I can email it and tell you where to find it.
from lonelylatina :
wooohooo, i'm ready. i have a dress and everything just tell me when. then we'll move to a nice little town in alaska like on the show 'northern exposure' and live happily ever after....lol ;)
from thisismywish :
Hello there, sir. How are you doing? Yes, I am alive in kicking. Surprisingly enough. I thought I might be dead, but it was such a beautiful surprise to find out that I wasn't. Thank you for saying you'd vote for me if I ran for president. I have a good friend who is working up to it. I am proud of him. He said I could be his campaign manager, which makes me really excited. He's on the right track. (I just misspelled "track" 7 times- and times 3 times) Anyhow, have a splendid evening in whatever you end up doing. Hey, why don't I send some scripture goodness your way? Psalm 119:1-8. There's some good stuff. Now, good night Mr. Rick.
from h2ophobic :
What a fun entry! Thanks for your kind comments. You may call me mom...everyone else does!

from h2ophobic :
I totally agree with you...if "good" was the standard for entry to heaven, I wouldn't be on the list either. Funny though, now that I know that "good" isn't the standard, I try harder to be good. Actually my daily goals are "humble, kind and generous." They're daily goals, because I rarely make it through the day without blowing them! Good luck at school! I think you are SO much more intelligent that you give yourself credit for!
from swingchick04 :

Yes, we do sometimes say "Merry Meet," but more often in my specific circles, just hello. :-) At any rate, I think I'll give you a read or two as well. I also enjoy talking to "the other side" when it's respectful. Peace, MJ (who's now hearing the Dar Williams tune "The Christians and the Pagans" ringing through her mind...)
from ilmomof3 :
Erm... I'm not quite sure how to interpret my comment, but I'll guess that if you added me to your list I must serve some function that's helpful. ;-) Maybe it's like my Catholic buddy in college -- he told me that whenever he needed to think something through, I always provided the opposite side of the argument for him in his head. Anyway, thanks... I think! :-)
from thisismywish :
150 points for you! The Goonies is also my second favorite movie. What's your first? I like to leave my first favorite movie place open so that everytime I see a movie I like I can say that it's my favorite movie. I don't like gross horror either...like "Nightmare on Elm Street" absolutely disgusted me and scarred me for life. I hate that movie. It's scary, and it's gross and blehk...I like more intelligent scary movies. Like "The Village", for example. M. Night Shaymalan's movies are so good because they are so smart, and they have so many twists- ya know? Anyway, you have a nice day Ricky! Keep your chin up! -Beth
from thisismywish :
I know EXACTLY what your saying...but can I challenge that thought a little? What if you feel passionately about singing, but you have no sense of tune, but you want to lead singing? I see people like that...they have things that they in their hearts are excited about, but it isn't neccesarily their talent. God does know where he wants us to be- but maybe sometimes we as people kind of blow what God wants out of the water and WAY out of proportion. But you can definitely serve God in anything...but maybe the way you are serving God isn't your purpose? I don't think that makes sense. You go get some sleep, Ricky! Have a great sleep!:) -Beth
from mugwhump :
YOU young man, are way to hard on yourself. Take it from this old broad - you've got a lot to offer, and God has the most precious woman set aside for you. Unfortunatley - it's all in God's timing, not ours. I had to wait, and it was worth it. Don't rule out Beth just yet. You never know what God has planned. :-)
from thisismywish :
Thank you for the note about purpose. I appreciate it so much, and it has got me thinking- although I am very much curious about " Maybe the question isn't what your purpose is as much as what you want it to be"...what do you mean by that?:) Anyway, the interview went...ok. I don't know if I got the job- I really hope I did because I just need to get out of the house. How are you doin today? -Beth
from mugwhump :
Do I smell a romance in the air? Beth is a sweety, and your . . . special too. No really, go for it. That would be cool!!! A diaryland romance, just makes this old matron's heart melt with Christmas glee! :-)LJ
from thisismywish :
Thank you so much! You are too...but you probably hear that all the time, Mr. Brad Pitt. By the way, where did ya hear that quote on your profile? I love it. See ya later, rock star Ricky. -Beth
from thisismywish :
Hey, Ricky...you just take one day at a time and remember God loves you so much. -Beth-in-ator
from catie-dids :
fyi: I abstained from naked-ness during the reading of your Thanksgiving life. . .although had I not been at work, had I not worked at a Christian non-profit, and had I more b*lls, maybe I would have ;) He, hee. . .Happy almost Christmas day!
from trishapaints :
thanks for the great post! i found you through mod-podger who thinks you are a great read. well done you! grace and peace
from thisismywish :
Wow- I can relate to that entry. My whole family decided to have breakfast this morning and by the end I took my mother aside and asked her where the vodka was. My word I hate those conversations. "Why aren't you dating?? Why are you this? Are you gay?" I am so sorry, I think your great. Lol- Have a nice day, rocking ricky. -Beth
from catie-dids :
hey handsome - welcome to the "questioned for living the life called me to live, right now (I hope)" club! I hope all is well! Enjoy aunt Bertha and the Japanese clan!! Praying for you! ~ccc
from thisismywish :
The Rickster Rockstar?? (Or was it the other way around) Lol, that's hilarious!:) Happy Thanksgiving yourself...enjoy every minute of the Macy's parade, your family interrogating you and lot's of stupid arguements over stupid stuff. Happy thanksgiving!:) -Beth
from thisismywish :
Hey, it's giantkiller and I've moved:) Love, Me
from giantkiller :
Rick, darling, babble away. It makes me laugh. It really makes me laugh. And when you post it twice, it makes me laugh even more. Have a nice day, okay? -Beth
from giantkiller :
Wow, that was a very long note that you posted twice. *grins* But, thank you, I needed to hear it twice. You bring a very good point to the table, and I will heed your advice. Awww, sad dog entry. My dog was stupid, too. But man I loved that thing. He was the greatest. Ricky Poo (the only thing I could think to call ya)- you have a nice day, ya hear? -Beth
from giantkiller :
Thank you for saying I should consider being a writer...I've always wanted to be one but I just don't know if I'm good enough. I've always wanted to be a journalist who got to stay home with her kids...at a riverside home in Astoria, Oregon with a husband with a great job and a cute dog and a great car...and...maybe I should just try the journalist part. Have a nice sleep and sweet dreams, Rickness! -Beth
from giantkiller :
Have you seen my site? Have ya, have ya, have ya? My new political one? Oh it's so lovely, I just did a great article, you really should read it. I am also very bad at replying notes. Gosh, I'm awful. Thank you for the great wishes, I wish the same for you. Now, go readeth my article! And reply my note. This shall be your reminder. Good night, Mr. Rick! -Beth
from mod-podger :
Hey. I just happened onto your page. Nice. Great statement of faith. I especially love all the things you write about your other diary buddies.
from giantkiller :
Hey there! No nannies has moved because someone hacked into my account and changed the password. Great, huh? Anyhow, find me at a friend's blog http://smartngoodlookin.sirblogalot.com!:) Have a great day, Rick!
from giantkiller :
I'm a jerk for not leaving you notes. I will leave you more niceness from now on. Yes, indeed. You have a nice day now, you hear Rick? -Beth
from mugwhump :
I LOVE Fogerty, and I still own an album. Yes - I said an album - good old fashioned vinyl. If I recall right it's the "Age of Innocence" album, and I played it incessantly in the early 80's!! Cheers - LJ
from godsong :
found your diary through mugwhump. Glad to meet a fellow Sara Groves fan and more importantly a brother in Christ! I'm excited - I'm going to see Sara in concert in 2 weeks...good stuff! God bless - looking forward to reading more.
from mugwhump :
Greetings MyOwn, Congrat's on the new job. Very cool. Now I just have to read over the last couple of weeks to find out what your doing. While my hubby and I drove down the I-5 on the way to Disneyland I thought about you and your bein' a trucker and all. So many big trucks, so many miles??? You gotta love the road, and I suppose if you drive those big rigs you are the big dog on the road. Anyway = Saddleback was AMAZING!!! Didn't meet your cousin, we were too overwhelmed to talk to anyone. But we really did enjoy out visit there. Anyway - were back home and I'm looking forward to writing up all the fun adventures. Blessings - LJ - P.S. Having just spent 12 days in the states I'm more confused than ever over your upcoming election. But what I have determined is that IF I were voting - it would be Bush. Kerry seems to sway with whatever the people want, not stand firm on any issues. But that's just this wee uneducated Canadian's thoughts. :-)
from sleepystorm :
hey. oh, no i dont think that closes my mind towards anyone. not at all. i have a natural love for debate anyways, so the more different, the merrier, so to speak! (sorry for my eight billion paragraph note previously)
from sleepystorm :
thanks. i read half of that, but i guess i just disagree on so many levels, that i couldnt really read any more, because it makes me angry. i guess my thing is this: everyone has their religious beliefs, their personal beliefs, their spiritual beliefs, etc...but overall, everyone is still entirely different. in about every single way. in my opinion, the country should not be run based on one persons beliefs alone, because it leaves out the millions who may not share the same views/ideas as that one person. im not trying to take this into politics, it was more of a sidenote. basically, i dont see the point in opposing gay activity, gay marriage, etc, because no matter what? if the country allows or doesnt allow them to get married? they are still having sex. they are still gay. they still practice in gay activity. i feel that a persons preference should just belong to them, and be left to it, because it doesnt directly effect anyone else, but those parties involved directly. there are far worse things people should concern themselves with : alcoholism for one. that causes death, abuse, and violent acts, but i dont see people making a fuss over selling alcohol. someone who is gay, does not hurt anyone. someone who is gay, and gets in their car, dont risk the chance of killing a family in an SUV. it does not effect you, nor me, nor your future children. what people should be concerned with in that regard, is the example they set for their children, and dont let the society raise their kids, like so many people do now (that or tv). look at what they would see on television? people bargaining for marriage, and sex, and money, and heap of things that are just the wrong "message". it really bothers me, when people forget what makes this country so "amazing" and what we are apparently fighting for, and that is "freedom". but people seem to want to take that away from someone because they personally dont approve, and that just really, really makes me sad... ive gone on far to long about this already. its kind of silly, because i know this will not effect you, nor any of your readers views, because im assuming they all share your ideas & beliefs ... just as a response from you in regards to this, wont change my feelings towards any of these issues. so i guess we can leave it at that, huh? like i said, to each their own. take care.
from sleepystorm :
in regards to your banner "im not gay" "i just dont like women" .... i dont read your diary, because i dont agree with bush & his administration, but to each their own ... but i am curious, however, if you do in fact have an "issue" shall we call it, with gays & lesbians? im straight, but for some reason, i just cant seem to wrap my head around the fact that people cant get over their phobia of someones personal preference. not to mention the whole equal rights thing, but i wont get started on THAT... again, just a question, not a judgment.
from giantkiller :
Diary is locked. Username: bethbelieves PW: inchrist Hey, Rick! Just thought I'd drop in and let you know I'm going to be locked for awhile. Have an awesome day in Christ, okay? -Beth
from for-you-only :
Why are you voting for Bush? I mean, Kerry supports almost all the same things, but he seems so much more organized.
from giantkiller :
Wow, um...thanks for the definitive advice:) I was just going to takes yours and abandon all others. I do agree with you though. It's really not going to make more of a difference other than making my opinions heard, which is silly, because I can just express my opinions on my blog and they'll be heard. I don't think I'm going to do it. I think it will be an honest mistake. They'll sit there and attack me personally, say that "King George" thinks he's taking his orders directly from God and then they'll sit their and cry about their puney lives. Been there, listened to all of that:) Anyway, thanks for the advice. It's really appreciated.
from giantkiller :
Oooh...now nEo's picking on you. *rolls eyes* (I still haven't taken any Midol yet- WATCH OUT!) Anyway, thank you so much for your kind words. *tearey eyes* Sometimes I just feel like I'm yelling and nobody's listening- how irritating is that? Anyway- question- TheyKnew has challenged me to a debate. What should I do? Your wise...:) God Bless, Rick!:) -Beth
from theyknew :
what does the bald men with the goatees mean in succcesion and saying "deal"? just curious behind the symbolism... thanks, nEo
from bledgirlblue :
I'm sorry to say that JT76 was my friend at one time, (we can all make mistakes right?) I can't find it now, he must have deleted it for some reason, but he had put an entry up detailing how he thinks that, "Mary should have had a coat hanger and aborted Jesus, because the world would be a better place if that little SOB hadn't been born." At this point, I became scared, and realized, that no further contact needed to be made between me and this "man". I appreciate your honesty, integrity, and faith. Keep up the good work.
from giantkiller :
Rick- I love your new layout. I think it's really grand. The colors are awesome. Muy bonita, mi amigo:) -Beth
from mikamw710 :
i like your diary and glad your voiting for bush.
from aliboomboom :
I saw your banner and I had to come check out your diary. I am so tired of hearing about Kerry this and Kerry that. I hate the man and I think it's sad that he's the best thing that the Democrats could find to be their candidate. I am also disgusted by the email that you were sent earlier. These people honestly must have no religion. God does not recognize Gay marriages so why should we? And she's worried about having the right to kill her unborn child taken away. That's sick. I personally don't want that person in my world. As for the war, what the hell do they want us to do? Sure preach peace all you want but until the rest of the world wants peace then we aren't going to have it. Exactly what do they think would have happened if we hadn't gone over there? These people obviously are uneducated and unethical. If you want to kill babies and marry people of the same sex, you'll get your chance...in hell. I just wanted to let you know that I agree and I think it's great that you stand up for your beliefs. Hell everyone who's voting for Kerry tells me about it, as if I care.
from jt76 :
Not sure why that posted twice- my apologies. I was compelled to leave you a note after reading your entry on how you don't know where Kerry stands on anything, and wanted to point out to you that Bush isn't any more 'resolute' than the opponent running against him- they're both politicians and pander to those who can get them elected. I am also a little displeased that you decided to respond to my post with sarcastic personal criticisms. If you wanted to prove me wrong or validate your point, you could have cited examples of when Bush has been an unwavering bastian of stewardship. In place of that, you opted to lambaste someone you do not know. Very civil of you. Anyway, we each have our own opinions and that is just fine- I was mearly pointing out something you may have neglected to take into consideration. Take care, and I hope the whole Bible-Thumping Cowboy thing works out for ya.
from jt76 :
Bush changes his opinion more than Kerry does, BTW. Against the department of homeland security- then for it. Against forming the 9/11 commission, then for it. Against giving the "intelligence czar" budget oversite, then for it. Said he would maintain the ban on assault weapons, then let the ban expire. Against letting his Secretary of State testify before the 9/11 commission, then for it. Woudn't testify himself, had to have Cheney with him to hold his hand, and then wouldn't give sworn testimony at all. Said he was for letting states decide on gay marriage, and then proposed a constiutional amendment banning it. And by the way, changing you mind when you were wrong is usually considered a good thing- when you're presented with all this evidence prooving you wrong on something and you refuse to acknowledge it, it makes you look like an idiot.
from mugwhump :
Thank for the note. We're very excited to be going to see Saddleback Church, and yet a little intimidated by its size. I just hope we don't get lost, but I suspect that by Saturday we'll have already become well versed in crowds after Disneyland, California Adventures, and Universal Studio's. . . . And if I come away from Disney singing "It's a Small World" I'll be comin' after you!!!
from ghostiness :
One more, then I'll be quiet, I promise. I love the cross guy. I think it's cool that you're a Christian and you display it so openly. I'm a Christian too, I just misinterpreted him on the banner :) ~Rachel
from ghostiness :
Saw the banner. If I could vote, I wouldn't agree with you, but I don't think you're a bad person because you support Bush. You're funny stuff, and I'll keep reading.
from bledgirlblue :
uh.. yeah.. html doesn't work in notes.. forgot about that. Sorry!
from bledgirlblue :
I <b>LOVED</b> your banner. Just so you know, I was going to do something, semi-important, and I read, "I'm voting for Bush... Deal." And I clicked on your banner real quick. Most of the banners that even have Bush in them, are usually anti-Bush banners. Thanks for representing a small population of Diaryland Bush Supporters. :)
from giantkiller :
It's not weird that your addicted to surveys- I totally am addicted to creating surveys. Thanks for your kind words- I really do appreciate it. I love Big And Rich, by the way, it's grand to see someone with a love and appreciation for real good country music. Anyway, I must be getting ready to go somewhere. Talk to you later! -Beth
from j3ff00 :
Well, once more, I was taken in by a banner. "I'm voting for Bush...Deal" I love it :D
from maliger :
I for one will leave contact info. Not that I'm sure you'd be changable in your vote, it's a two way street. I'm emailable at [email protected] and I don't want to vote for Bush because he supports the war on terror. I'm not voting for Kerry either because he supports, if in a varying degree, the war on terror. It just seems hypocritical to ask that people not attack our country when we go out and outright invade Afghanistan then Iraq, then inevitably while the current people are in power other "threats" that we are making more of a threat and hurting. We can't promote violence on a global scale and expect it to not be on a national one. Spread love instead. Save, if not at least not purposelessly end, the life of every boy and girl who grows up in this world. By now you may think I'm nuts, but I know you are misguided in believing that a community will benefit in any way by continuing the murders and suppression of other countries. And if you say you disagree, fine. But don't say for me not to say this. Otherwise you go to another level and suppress one's right to disagree. I don't suppress your right to disagree, I simply ask you listen sometimes. Thanks, Donald "Maliger" Anderson
from kacklefight :
and thank you for responding kindly. i was reading your profile, and i wondered, have read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn?
from alwaysinhim :
I'm sorry I'm not in a better mood to leave a note.. but I if I don't leave something, I may never find you again, and I think I do want to come back. You have many interesting thoughts, and I should like to read them all.
from kacklefight :
hehe, i wouldnt bring up the UN unless you wanna talk about the sanctions we put on Iraq that lead to 500,000 children deaths since 1990. just a thought
from lonelylatina :
Yeah, I don't know why but I really liked that movie. Did it make you cry or at least choke up a little? :)
from danddteacher :
Thanks for your honesty! And now - I've quoted you in my journal *L*... go figure!
from mugwhump :
I'm sorry I haven't been by in a while, but I sure do like the new look. Regarding being single - God kept me single until I was 40. I didn't even date until my husband walked into my life. Then wham-bam within 13 months we got engaged and married. God is awesome and will present the perfect woman for you in His time. :-)LJ P.S. But you already knew all that stuff.
from giantkiller :
Weird...it's working over on my end...http://www.refugeinchrist.net/fonts.htm is the link...I am having the worst day. My mind is so dead. If it doesn't work I'll have to fix it later when I don't feel so...bleh. Hehe:) Thanks for letting me know!:) -Beth

from seducible :
I failed to leave a note before when it was actually current, but I for one am glad you decided to start posting again since I enjoy all of your entries.
from christianboi :
In a lot of ways, I think I can relate to how you are feeling. Lately, I've felt so alone and empty. No matter how hard you try, you just don't seem to fit in or be part of the group. Sure, you are there in body, but in spirit and heart, you are left to wander outside of the group. HeHe This feeling is probably nothing like that you are feeling now that I think about it. I long for acceptance, and you long for some of life's experiences. Or so, that's what I got from your journal entry. Thank you for the note. I appreciate it. Have a good one! ~Aaron-Michael
from catie-dids :
So when I grow up (which is something at the rightful old age of 25, I refuse to do), will you teach the man I fall for to be exactly like you? Heck, why don't you just let that man be you ;) Although long distance relationships don't really work all that well for me. Anyhow - here's my note of encouragement: God has amazing plans for you, my friend. It is in the times that He has us to himself that he can reveal His character in us! Keep on truckin'!
from h2ophobic :
I miss your entries! Come back! Work things out in your mind and heart and then come back!
from queenmothy :
Hi! I'm a recent loyal reader and decided to drop you note finally, even though you say you may not update again. I just want to say that part of the journey of self-examination is reviewing what you did during your day and turning your diary into "a babble page." I think if you go through all your entries you'll find that as a person you are, first of all, a real human being who has experienced a great deal of the ups and downs of life-- and survived without losing hope, identity, or focus. And that's more than what most people can say. If it's more of a spiritual journey you are seeking growth in, I can say for sure that everyone has their own way of attaining that growth and knowledge of God... it's just that you can't expect to have all the answers, even in your 30s. As far as losing in love, don't give up! Maybe you should try letting love find you, instead of the opposite. Good things come to those who are patient. Anyway, I don't know if you'll get this note, but in conclusion I want to say that if you don't come back, your insight and your "babble page" will be sorely missed. Take care!
from sugababie88 :
I'd like to thank you for that kind note you wrote me. I think it's exactly what I needed. I need to learn to take the advice given to me. I'll try and start by taking yours. That note really made me smile- thanks.
from havechosen :
Gak! I accidentally filed the survey before finishing it... Um... sorry. Is there anything that can be done about that? I've never really played with the survey thing...
from aramco-junky :
This is pretty weird. Like I'm in the whole highschool scene thing, and I just moved from home. Mama says a bunch of the guys from home are going to come here and visit, and if something gets in their way of what they want to make out of our relationship then they will regret it for the rest of their lives, and/or wonder what would have happened if I had ended up with them... I didn't believe her exactly... Then i read your entry... a guys point of view years later... Wow... Ciao, Saj
from seducible :
Is that honestly what "cool" means these days? Wow. (I'm obviously not in the loop) I'm surprised anyone between the ages of 10 and 16 can make up acronyms correctly. Ah, I don't like my generation. If I could drive I think I would want to become a trucker. I'm up all night anyway and I'd get to see the country.
from aramco-junky :
Oh the "constipated, over-rated" thing at the end of your diary reminded me of one of Atmosphere's lyrics... He's this underground rapper, but sounds more like a modern day philosopher. That is if you really listen to his lyrics and what not, and get what he's talking about. Ciao, Saj
from aramco-junky :
I love reading your diary b/c alot of my friends are Muslims, and me believing in God but never been baptised it kind of leaves me in limbo. With my friends we would constantly discuss the Bible and the Qu'ran and the Torah even (although i never had any jewish friends, no jews in saudi of course) but yeah so it's interesting to hear the two views... Ciao, Saj
from godmoney :
lol, no. i'm very yey Kerry. i just h8 how bush handled the war because hussein was so tragically complacent in the end + don't u think war could have been averted? i do think hussein ("evildoer" he is) needed to be deposed, but i think bush mislead the nation along the way. ::sighs:: thanx 4 not leaving an evil note.
from minnstar20 :
You have impressed me. Your diary is intriguing. I am also in complete support of Bush.. You are my brother in Christ also. :) It's unlikely that I'll ever meet you, but I'll surely see you in heaven. My name is Melinda and I'm 15 years old. Please check out my diary and leave a note for me. :) <3
from aramco-junky :
Hey i just started reading your diary today and i really liked all the stuff, and i love your writing, like your way of thinking. Very nice content. Oh and one more thing, how did you get that "979 Vistors since ..." I want to put that on my diary!!! Keep up the indepth thoughts. -Saj
from godmoney :
ur support 4 bush makes me want 2 cry. honestly.
from donut-one :
I think that it's very big of you to try and love your enemy, or to at least see that it's the better thing to do. Not many people can do that. I can't even begin to explain how awesome I think that is.
from seducible :
I came upon your diary after seeing a banner that read "I'm voting for Bush" I was aghast. Seriously. Not something I expected to see (and am so glad that I DID). I've read through some of your entries, and can completely relate to what you're going through -- trying to get closer to God. You'll definitely be in my prayers from now on.

I just found your page (via Chickie-legs), but I'll have to pop back later and give it a good read. Blessings - LJ
from genuine-mel :
Hey-thanks for leaving that note in my journal. I am actually kind of surprised that anyone reads it, but I'm glad that you appreciate my honesty, and I'm glad that it might be able to help you in some ways. I've had a really rough few months, so a lot of my journal reflects that lately. I've checked out your journal, and it's cool. I enjoyed your testimony. BTW...Sara Groves is awesome.
from myownjourney :
chickie-legs and yumenomiko - I agree. Some people need to have the crap scared out of them once in awhile, especially guys like that. But since I am now a mature, responsible adult, I guess I can't go doing that sort of thing anymore.....maturity just isn't fun. :)
from myownjourney :
h2ophobic - thanks. Hope you didn't get in trouble for the laughing. If I stay in the states I would love to get a laptap. Be a cool little travel journal type thingy.
from h2ophobic :
I really enjoy your entries. More than once I have laughed out loud while reading them...not a good thing when you're the only awake in the house! I'll be sad and lonely when you go on the road. Have you considered getting a lap top to keep us all updated?
from chickie-legs :
You're not overreacting, in my opinion. I'm a girl and I would have loved it if my brother would threaten that guy...yarr.
from yumenomiko :

from sugababie88 :
I'd like to say something to your 5/4/04 entry. You have done good and I think that both Jesus and God can smile on you. Though I don't know you in real life, you have written about getting closer to Jesus and God... and that itself is important, then again you don't let anything get in the way, you are very inspirational... I wish I could take the time out of my hectic life and just devote it to both God and Jesus. I try... but I think at my age (16) I'm more concerned into finding myself. I am more and more seeing that once I find God and Jesus, that I will trully find myself then too. So thanks for sharing everything... and I look up to the things you do. :-D
from myownjourney :
havechosen - I appreciate any notes at all from you. And yes, I'm thinking of sabotaging my sisters fishing line. Is that wrong? j/k
from havechosen :
:) Cuz you know, you wanted all my notes to be about technical things. I'm sure you did. :) Seriously, though... or rather unseriously... the most recent post about fishing made me smile. You realize, don't you, that you've just jinxed yourself? Your sister is now DESTINED to come home with the hugest fish known to man.
from myownjourney :
hi havechosen, I'm still debating on whether or not to go supergold thus having access to the comments.

Hey, when are you going to get comments on your site? :) Much more fun to say things that way! :) I got behind on my reading over here, and now my comments are going to be way out of date... :)
from myownjourney :
Pureone - I'm very impressed! I don't think could even sit through all those entries without falling asleep. :) Thank you very much.
from myownjourney :
no1sgirl - I know - I get shivers thinking that those things are actually out in the world.
from pureone :
I read about you from yuminomiko and now I've just finished reading all your entries in one sitting(I need something better to do w/ my time...) I don't know, I have nothing to say except you make me think, and I appreciate that alot. Also, you made me smile. :)
from no1sgirl :
*shudder* Ugh!!! I agree, spiders are the things nighmares are made of!! I can't believe you posted that pic! LOL! You're very brave!
from iluvjessee :
Hi! I found your diary from God-lovers2. I'm a member also! Very kewl diary! I read 3 or 4 of your entries and you seem like a very nice person! It's great to have more Christians on diaryland. :) God bless you! <>< Christina

Life is hard compared to death, well, if you're going to Heaven that is...
from myownjourney :
Thanks no1sgirl. It all worked out ok. I went in today and she wasn't even there. I still feel a little bad about though. But life goes on. Happy happy joy joy
from no1sgirl :
Hello. This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't apologize to that girl for anything. She can be annoyed at people all she wants, but she doesn't need to take it out on you and it wouldn't kill her to do what she is supposed to be doing for the school. You were right to put her in her place like that. I think a big problem with people who are in any kind of service is that they all have this attitude and they act as if it would just kill them to be nice to someone. My thought is if they can't deal with the public face to face then they shouldn't offer their time. You were nicer to her about it than I would have been for sure.

Hee! You're SO not a dork, Rick. You are a guy who, if he doesn't have his head on straight, at least KNOWS it and is trying to do something about it! That's mite near acceptable in my book, mister, and rare to boot. I enjoyed your note, didn't mind a bit where you placed it, and appreciate your reply more than you know. To know that you think church-organized singles events are right up there with root canals makes me feel not like such a black-souled heathern. (giggle...that was humor. Truthful, yet supposed to be funny although I AM a black souled heathern, or am dangerously near to becoming one according to my dear old Ma as I've recently stopped going to church. Can I ramble in a parenthesis, or what?) Perhaps, here in my area, there are men like you, who have consciences combined with heavenly goals but no or severely undersized hypocracy glands. One can hope. You're welcome to post whatever you want, whenever you want, fellow human, and never will you be called a dork. (Unless you spontaneously do the splits for attention, like my friend Buckwheat. Then you might have to wear the dork hat for a day or two.) :) ~Myra
from yumenomiko :
sounds like you might enjoy something i did just for the heck of it. i went to eharmony.com (I'm seeing someone so it was on a whim) and *gulp* took their 82,000 page self evaluation test. and it was really... inspiring. when you're forced to answer so many questions about yourself from the deep and meaningful to the petty and surface, you can really learn a lot about yourself! just wanted to pass along the suggestion as you muddle through getting things on track! not terribly life changing, but kinda fun, and something to do for 20 minutes if nothing else...
from havechosen :
Whoo! :) Thanks for adding the tags. Very much appreciated. Also thank you for linking me... but most of all, thank you for letting me know that something I wrote impacted you. That means a lot!
from myramains :
You left a comment for me, and I clicked on your name just to see who this fellah was...and there you were, saying something on this particular day which resonates in me and makes me think I might just be going about things the wrong way. I'm not going hog-wild, mind you...but I'm not exactly consulting God on what I should do next as I know I should be. And there you are, doing just that, seeing clearly and all that stuff...cripes. I really don't know what I'm supposed to be doing. I can't launch into my true self here and doubt you'd want me to, but...suffice to say, you've made me think tonight. In a nutshell, I have a sense of entitlement after a very long and very recently ended marriage (my divorce was final a week ago) that needs to be cut down to size before I do something that is not my nature or God's. I haven't got a clue, and the best thing for me to do in that case is absolutely nothing, which I am. Good on you for being able (or even making an effort) to separate yourself from the world while charting your path. I am a christian myself, despite the copious cursing in my diary...in fact, that contradiction right there is my problem. I don't feel like I'm on the dark side, but I know I'm not up to par in the "living in His will" department. I don't like the idea of trying to fit inside the mold...and the thought of church singles gatherings makes me want to hide under a rock. I wish you luck in your search, Rick. You sound to be on the right track indeed. :) ~Myra
from myownjourney :
Thanks switchfooter, I try to keep my fanatical behavior to a minimum. Other than the Giant poster of Bush wrapped in an american flag above my bed that is...j/k. ;)
from switchfooter :
I clicked on your banner expecting you to be super hardcore about Bush being awesome and so forth, but I was glad to see that you're really quite rational. I don't like Bush, but I don't like politicians in general. It's good to see people who aren't trying to shove their opinions down others' throats and are so diplomatic about it. :o)
from wvprincess :
I am not here to bash you for your opinions or anything..but I don't think Bush has done all that great for our country...but if you think so that's fine and dandy..I personally think he knew something was going to happen..maybe not exactly what happened on 9/11 but I think he knew that something was coming. I like your layout by the way...
from havechosen :
Hey... came here through your banner (like that's terribly surprising). Was interested in what I read but got frustrated that there were no previous or next tags so that I had to keep going to the archives to look at anything other than the last 5 entries. I don't suppose you'd be willing to modify your template a bit, would you?
from krazieespy :
Trust me I'm not coming here to bash your banners, I dont think they knew 9/11 was going to happen. I would HOPE that if they knew they did something to stop it, but who knows. I just wanted to say that I got here through your banner and to tell you I agree with them not knowing..
from ambrianna :
Couldn't agree more. And always great to learn I have another reader! Thanks for leaving me a note. :)
