I do know the origin, I think. Our tour guide in London (oh so many years ago) told us two stories. One, that the song refers to when some invading Vikings tied the bridge to their boats and pulled it down, causing it to be rebuilt with stone. Second, that the "take the key and lock her up" refers to the practice of encasing a live virgin child in the casement of the bridge to bless the structure. I've also heard though that it refers to Anne Boleyn being locked up in Tower Bridge, which Americans often confuse with London Bridge, and which we thought we were buying. I don't know which one is true, but they are both really creepy!

You will be living in the dorms (coed, by the way) and will need to bring your own blankets/pillow for the bed. Jessica, One word of advice that I learned a LONG time ago... take me seriously, if you find someone attractive (emotionally) and you just fall in absolute love with them.... RUN! and I mean that in all the friendliest ways, and vise versa, if you find a guy that scares the shit out of you (not too much like some kind of stalker or something), take the chance, and open up your mind to him. This attraction thing is a pattern and I heard this advise from a VERY good radio show that I listen to every so often. I love you lotz Jess, cya later! *hugs*

Why do you find that comforting? Being held like that? I don't know why for you, but I can tell you why for me. Because somewhere in your head you are expecting the pain. And waiting for the pain is worse than the actual hurt. Sometimes it is easier to search out the pain yourself. Ie, entering relationships/situations where you know you will be hurt, but needing it in some sick way. I know a lot about this, for my own reasons, if you ever want to talk. In many ways, you are the girl I once was, and the woman I wish I could be.

Have you let your mom know how you feel about this name changing thing. I'm sure you have. Tell her how you feel and tell her that it hurts you and that you don't like it. She should understand. I have 2 last names. My mom's maiden name, and my dad's last name. Lyon-mom's, and Scott-dad's. I live with my mom, and she didn't want to continue being scott, so she went back to her maiden name, being Lyon. I fugured, since I live with her, and am a part of her, I too should take in this name. I knew nothing about it. But I still did. I also kept my father's last name, Scott, because It is my last name, and a part of him. Even though I don't really know him, I will always keep his last name. I don't know, it's an option.
