from medea42 :
hey there - I need to get back to reading some fanfic, someday --- have you added more to B&B man? Hope all goes well, and how's the new church? Give my best to James.

Hey hon! http://www.harlingfordhotel.com They don't have the full SkyTV line, but if you're spending your nights in London watching telly, why go? ;) The hotel is fab. I've stayed there, as has my brother. Best breakfast you'll ever have, and the beds are comfy. The showers are small, but really, so are showers in just about any hotel in the UK. That's my $0.02! Happy new year! <3 -J PS- what's your email addy these days? *mwah!*
from lavieboheme8 :
Sure, you *could* get a haircut like Faith Hill. You'd still look (and be, of course) old and fat, but maybe a tad bit less ugly. But I'm sure you're so wise as to not expect miracles from just a hair cut.
from mizerychick :
Thanks for the support :) I like cats too, but I like bunnies better, and this cat's going to go down if she tries to harm them again ;)
from mizerychick :
I've got your back, in spirit. Frankly, I agree with you, but I'd like to keep the level of crazy in my life down to an absolute minimum and distancing myself from the whole online Daria community has become a necessity to do so. So yeah, I agree with you, but I'm just not willing to put my ass in front of the raging bull right now. I hope all works out, and good luck with the move as well. :)

"The man normally speaks like a Canadian newscaster except the minute he starts talking with his folks. Then he reverts to Cleatus the Slack Jawed Yokal. It's amazing. I'll make a tape and sell it on the internet." Having been with two Southern boys, I feel your pain. Clay (how's that for a boy from Tennessee?) still had it thick, but Ben also has the Canadian newscaster thing going. But every once in a while he'll bust out the full-on Texas twang and it makes me run screaming. And the worst? When I was there for 10 days, I started hearing twang entering MY speech. Horrifying. *hums the "Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel" song*

Hi! I saw your name when I did a search for fans of the movie "Shag," and I thought I'd let you know I'd started a diaryring. Just type the following into your browser: http://members.diaryland.com/edit/rings.phtml?ring=shag Thanks!
from mizerychick :
Mountain Dew! Eeeeeew, I'll take the crab juice :D
from medea42 :
You know what? I didn't like the Matrix either. And I slept throug Matrix 2! You're not bad, just less geek inclined.
from centipede6 :
I tried watching the Matrix once, couldn't hold my attention, though one of the villains did say something about the Human Race that I totally agreed with. That's about all I remembered explicitly besides the visuals and the Trinity woman. Keanu as nice-looking as he is, will always be too dorky to me in any dignified leading role.
from barefootsage :
Did you know that Dorothy Sayers was in a group of British writers called The Inklings? Co-members were C.S.Lewis and J.R.R.Tolkien.They were all Christians.
from pastorlady :
Just talk about what you want to get off your chest. After all its your journal/diary. In ten years this record will be useful to you and not anyone else (unless you plan on writing your autobiography in which case the notes will help).
from dullhick :
A password has been sent to your e-amil account. Sorry about that.
from mizerychick :
Here are a few relatively low carb/high fiber snacks that I found helped me: wheat germ, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, grapefruit and berries. Good luck with everything, especially the job :)
from centipede6 :
Finally going to quit being prison guard? Good for you. All kids are animals at that age, and all authority figures of any major agency are lazy, apathetic, or criminal anyway. You can't change people in that kind of an environment. Hell those little monkeys you dealt with were part of the reason why I left the school system. You have such a good heart for caring for those people. I would've loved to shoot them all a'la Columbine but I wasn't a well-to-do anglo saxon chap with naive parents. I'll light Lottery and Nature incense for you and good luck in finding something that suits you! Believe me, when you don't have to set foot into another facility like that prison again, you will appreciate a sterile and civil environment!
from centipede6 :
Sad to read about your teaching experience. People with jobs like that have to deal with severe conditions, sacrifice, safety, and most of all money degradation. The same applies to emergency workers...I saw this thing on the news the other day about this guy who had to work another as well as being an EMT, which I always thought was a well-paying job until now. I have this other friend who has a degree in medicine who's going to be evicted due to lack of employment. I mean, come on a guy with a medical degree on the edge of homelessness. Ever notice that jobs that involve helping people aren't really as financially rewarding as say, sales, or lawyering, or working as an arms dealer for LockHeed Martin? Sick world isn't it...which is why I don't look into jobs like yours. Now if you get into a college thing it would probably be way different because people are generally more interested in things, HS is just a prison they need to go to everyday because the law says so until they turn 16 and can drop out.
from centipede6 :
Free Speech..sure..always the last excuse for the most Degenerate of artists, the Ozzys, the eminems and the Howard Sterns of the world...all for an adoring audience really. There's a difference between being an artist for your own enjoyment and perhaps admiration of others, and someone who creates Degenerate art simply for attention and money..
from mizerychick :
Love you Ruth - you always know how to put things in proper perspective. I think I'm going to have to point your latest entries towards some of my friends. Sigh. I hope all is well with you and James and Happy Belated Birthday
from centipede6 :
Ready to feel old with me? Elvis Costello and the Clash are inducted in the R&R Hall of Fame. Some of my earliest memories were of the music from that generation...gawd...you know what would really be a legacy-spoiler? If the Sex Pistols were inducted..my my my..
from mizerychick :
Ah, so he's in Pennsyltucky now? How old is this child again? It's pathetic that he's still living with his parents and most of my friends (under 25) own their own property. Sigh. That boy needs to get out on his own.
from centipede6 :
regarding Public School germs; as far as i am concerned, you can deal with just about any pile of garbage or rancid swill or some other unspeakable unsanitary thing once you've dealt with Public School restrooms for 10 years...
from alethia :
For some reason the name Marion Zimmer Bradley jumps to mind for a writer who didn't go to college. Or at least, I know, if she did, she definately didn't major in English.
from mizerychick :
could you please send me your home address? I have something to send to you guys but being the doof I am, I forgot to save your address from the wedding invite.
from mizerychick :
where else did you register besides Mikasa?
from mizerychick :
The "Bunny's Greatest Hits" person was me - for some reason I was looking for a particular quote of yours that I remembered from a while ago and I wanted to get it right. Oddly, I didn't find it and can't remember what it was or what the hell I wanted it for... they say short term memory is the first to go, right?
from mizerychick :
Hey - could you please send me your email - I need to contact you about something and I only have the old att email.
from mizerychick :
The Hamtaro story is pretty good - it's an enjoyable read. I'm so happy that show comes on while I'm getting ready for work. It was like fuzzy heaven this morning - there were rabbits and squirrels frolicking outside my window and I was watching Hamtaro. Cuteness overload :)
from mizerychick :
Damn, I love those cute little Hamtaro hamsters. It makes me want to run out and buy one, but then again I've always had an affinity for things cute and fuzzy. Friggin' allergies get in the way. Weirdly enough, I wanted "Ryan" to win as well, but I was rooting for her back when she auditioned as Tiffany something or other :)
from centipede6 :
i had to snicker at your account of James' activities..jeez..it sounds so much like something i'd do, especially the crashing into bed amidst bags of merchandise..i do that on an almost nightly basis! and often for no real reason unless you count back exhaustion from sitting in front of an easel or computer..anyways, goodnight!

Bunny, darling, Mercury is in retrograde. And for quite a while, to. Fucker. ;) I don't hold 100% stock with astrology (gotta keep *some* skepticism), but I had a huge fight with my brother on Wednesday, and later that day said to my new boss I'd work last night, forgetting about a concert I wanted to go to, and all I could think was, "SHit, is Mercury in retrograde?" And it was. Started that day. I hate when Mercury is in retrograde. It fucks me up, even when I'm not thinking about it!
from jillcat42 :
^_^ That article made me feel good. It's a constant struggle for me because I'm always fighting the urge to be like that. Not because I've seen my friends do it and think it's "ok," but because of stuff from my own history. But that aside, I'm doing well in school, and I'm making headway into that thing called "life." Maybe I won't need to think about it after all. ^_~ -J
from jillcat42 :
Hey! My boyfriend was reading this article, and when I asked to see it, he said, "I don't know if you'd like it..." When I read the description, I told him I doubted that... http://www.disenchanted.com/dis/humanity/workethic.html I think this may be something that needs to be passed on to Mississippi and San Fran...
from mizerychick :
Here's a hint about white gold wedding rings - they stretch because the metal is so soft. Just something to keep in mind for down the road :)
from jillcat42 :
hey Ruth! Drop me an email sometime! :) I got your "save the date," but I have no other way to contact you! *sniff* I lost your email addy again. :( -J
from pastorlady :
BBC or A and E How do you like YOUR Pride and Prejudice?
from centipede6 :
that mizery person of yours has added a lot to yr note section..i may as well add some more, no? glad to we share musical tastes...ever since 1996 i've been lusting for late '70s-early '80s new wave tunes. in my case, you hven't lived until you've listened to Moz's "Viva Hate" on a foggy San Francisco day...the sweet air, the dark soothing clouds...it gets overcast in Sacto, but it's not the same, you know? i used to live where you could get a view of the Upper Market and Sutro Towers, Diamond Heights, you know, an observatory to the heavens...*snaps out of it* sigh..thanks for the memory jag..-me
from centipede6 :
oh Bunny, your honeymoon sounds absolutely thrilling! you'll love Capitola, i lived there for about 5 months a couple summers ago. check out the Book Cafe and everything else on the main street, it's quite fun. and 3 days of San Francisco? i'd like to meet you there at least ONE of the days. places i highly recommend; Muddy Waters for good reasonably priced coffee and pastries, El Toro's in the Mission if you like well-done very filling Mexican cuisine, and just about any place on Clement street for Oriental cuisine. as for sightseeing you could just wander around the pretty neighborhoods; Fisherman's Wharf is wonderful if you enjoy the aroma of boiling seafood. priceless. anyway, that's all for now!
from mizerychick :
If you're interested, I bought the tiara I wore to my wedding at this little dinky hole in the wall shop on 40th street between 7th and 8th aves. The prices are great and they have an amazing selection - you might want to check it out.
from mizerychick :
Congratulations to you and J on your engagement. :)
from mizerychick :
I thought of you and J the other night with the whole business in Queens. Glad to know that both of you are alright and good luck with the new job.
from centipede6 :
sad to say, but i won't be updating mine anymore. everytime i start a journal i always end up destroying it at some point when someone or something really bothers me. did that last night. why would anyone give a password to someone they don't want to deal with? don't ask me. oh well. i'll leave that person to their own rancid idiocy, let them be reamed for all i care. anyway. hope you and J get to reach that heavenly state of mind...-tony
from mizerychick :
You and J take care of yourselves down in FL. Don't get sick and stay away from tabloid newspaper offices.
from tafka :
hi sweetie. can't say i disagree with your description of me - it's so damn accurate. I'm glad to know that you & J are happy. I'm definitely a devoted reader, since we rarely do the email thing. It's always good to know that you're up and about and enjoying things.
from mizerychick :
Send me an email if we're actually meeting this weekend.
from alano :
I laughed, I weeped (Well...No!) I had nothing better to do.... How many people have read the part about where you do your shopping for groceries? Just Curious... Mazeltov
from centipede6 :
so glad to hear you are beginning a tenure in a musical activity! - me
from mizerychick :
Awwww... thanks. Anyway, I read your diary because you're interesting. You may irritate the piss out of me sometimes, but you seem like a cool person and I find it really great/funny that you found happiness with the evil green one ;) (And I mainly started because I wanted to see what you wrote about the results of the throwdown :) Sara
from centipede6 :
Umm...hooray for bunnies! As I write this, one of the Smurfs is advertising beer, those goddamn Smurfs have no shame. I see the Shelby is trying to start trouble. Don't let her get to ya...you were and are a scholar amongst the smelly crowds. We were all a part of one in the beginning weren't we?
