i was in chicago for five hours on my train ride back from new york to portland. and it made me think of you. hope all is well. ex oh ex oh.
from mangotuesday :
missyouinfinity.
from mangotuesday :
packing my bags. love and blogspots.
from miralogue :
wow... your friendship thing really hit home. too bad that we don't live closer together because i think you and i TOTALLY share the viewson the friendship. i often feel that my friends don't value it as much as me, and i end up feeling slighted all the time. and i used to be a friendly frannie too. and now.... ugh. it's kind of depressing in a way. and then it makes me feel needy... etc., etc., etc. i will write about it and then you won't feel lame alone. and i totally get he diff between lonely and lonesome. xoxoxo
from miralogue :
i used to be cool, too. we can be former cool people together. thanks for checking in and leaving me a note. it made me really happy. hopefully we can strike up our correspondence again. i still play the cd mix you sent me. :)

A few years ago, I went biking in Iowa with a friend. We camped on the campus of Luther College in Decorah. Across the street from our campsite was an old barn that housed an heirloom livestock farm -- lots of weird looking chickens etc. that were around in the colonial era -- and a seed exchange. In the evenings they had live music outside. We sat on the lawn and listened with our beers in hand on a warm summer nightand thought that whoever ran that place had the best job in the world. Your entry today reminded me of that moment.
from mangotuesday :
omg! i would have put that in my scrapbook too! that is so cute. what does a.c. newman look like?
from mangotuesday :
my brother. [who literally is belle and sebastians biggest fan.] and i. are going to see them in march. i'm so excited. we'll have to swap stories.
from treepose :
oh winter solstice. the happys. the sads. and the buttermilks. i/m glad we are diary friends.
from mangotuesday :
thanks for the love and linking. i was just wondering about a cd version because i was going to give it as a present in our secret jesus exchange. i will burn it instead though. my favourite song of the day is that was the worst christmas ever! also. did you know that you can buy safeclothes at the safeclothes website now??? score. love and tulip skirts.
from mangotuesday :
hi my friend. i was just wondering. if you downloaded the twenty or so sufjan christmas songs floating around in the internet air. or if there is a hard copy floating around? happiest of holiday. all my good cheer.
from treepose :
the note i meant to leave two weeks ago: i saw a franzia box of wine in a kitchen at a halloween party i was at. and of course. i thought of you.
from treepose :
aren't i just the most generous note giver. it's just that i always have something to comment on. in this case. you could use a small propane (non electric) heater to warm your art shed. they are sold at home depot and the like for under $100. our studio is on the top floor of an old brick building with zero insullation and cracks in the windows. plus we aren't allowed to use an electric heater because it would apparently blow the circuit for the entire floor. so with winter coming we have had to do some research.
from treepose :
here's to hoping that you're up and attem for bob dylan part 2 that airs tonight.
from treepose :
dearest oltremare. i too, can't find my camera cord (after months of searching), am so excited during the day to do stuff and then too tired at night to do anything (though this is changing, i think) and like the new iron and wine/calexico EP (courtesty of mangotuesday and lawofmotion). love and cross country connections.
from mangotuesday :
i am so jealous. sososo jealous. i hear they've incorporated a human pyramid into sufjan spirit week. and that his banjo is fixed. and that he/s playing some seven swans and michigan stuff. also. i've been listening to some laura veirs. i like her too. but she didn/t open in portland. i adore you. love and complimentary taste.
from harri3tspy :
I love your shoe posts. I'm now totally jonesing for those blue boots with the flowered tops. Hmm. How badly does AJ need a winter coat this year?
from harri3tspy :
The circus was truly excellent. I got the impression that it might be an annual event, so it would be worth keeping your eyes open for next year. As for the meat counter at Caputo's, even I, who until about a year ago had been a vegetarian for nearly 20 years, was impressed. We're planning a trip back for the shopping. And the Italian tunes.
from mangotuesday :
kings of convenience are my most favourite right now. they remind me of you. who i also adore.
from treepose :
i was just thinking about the french braid last friday on my walk home from work. i think you are just the person to pull it off.
from treepose :
congratulations. i am so happy for you. love and 3 extra hours for baking, collaging etcetera.
from treepose :
i really like the new picture you put up. open fields and the balance color contrast of a red shoe.
from mangotuesday :
congratulations oltremare! i'm so happy for you. love and glow.
from harri3tspy :
I really miss that neighborhood. Even my insane Ukrainian landlady. But I'd hate to be painting TOO grim a picture. There are definitely plusses too, most notably the easy access to hiking and kayaking venues without spending half of Saturday stuck in traffic on the Kennedy and the even more readily available wildlife(both flora and fauna) right in your very own yard. But I'm sure you already know all that, or you wouldn't be moving out!
from treepose :
dearest oltremare. thank you for your lovely little post on sufjan. a new favorite by way of mangotuesday. i loved reading all of his little details on the link you posted. and he already mentioned oregon in that romulus song so maybe that's telling of where he's going after he finishes in the midwest...p.s. i had a tom collins, very similar to a gin fizz, lemon and subtle.
from treepose :
what about the very obvious and very lovable gin + tonic? or perhaps a gin fizz [but not sloe]. that latter is very subtle. i was looking through my drinkology book last night, looking for new favourites. but i didn't want to suggest any i hadn't tried. so i made a chelsea sidecar [very similar to a white lady, which is very WASPy] but i didn't think much of it, so it can't be reccommended. i'll have to try a tom collins. i have the glasses anyway.
from treepose :
dearest miss midwest. where can i find this wood grain contact paper? it sounds very doe a deer and doug fir. church & state websites are on the long list of to dos, so i hope an email sent picture will suffice. note me with your address. love and row row row your boat.
from mangotuesday :
thats crazy !i wonder if its maybe because i shut my southeast diary. which you can have the password to if you wish. just note me with your email address or send me an email at [email protected] love ashley.
from harri3tspy :
That is the exact pair I tried on! Unfortunately, they did not have my size. If I'm still thinking about them tomorrow, I may be placing a Zappo's order myself...
from vocalfern :
