Hi Owcowkee, I was excited to see an entry from you. Of course your entry was dated 10/18/05 and today is 11/30/05. So you see I can't complain about your lack of "diarylandering" since I haven't been faithful to Diaryland either. But I did post something today. I had all but abandoned Diaryland until today. Like you, I won’t promise a return, but I have already run into a few people today that I realize I have missed a lot. You included. I always enjoyed reading you and your style and of your SENSE OF HUMOR. I hope you will return to write occasionally!

Am I the ONLY one who clicks "comments" and ends up here??? The ball for a chair idea is not bad at all... you have to keep your balance and it is good for your posture. yup. I bet you're ready for swimsuit season in less than a million years!

hahahah! I can write "welcome back" again! Thanks for the comment over at my place. Sounds like a good thing you got a new car, but that is ludicrous re the "failure to control" ticket. I cannot imagine them doing something like that here. Drivers would be up in arms! Ohio doesn't sound bad. Personally I think I'd like the weather better than Florida... I've never been to florida but I like winter. cheers!

Dang girl, you been updating thrice daily, I think you can stay on the buddies list. LOL! As for the garbage, for me it is the compost... it's under control now, but it tends to linger in plastic bags near the back door in the kitchen when the snow in the back piles up and then I come in the front door and go "what IS that funny smell?" and have to get my boots on and get it to the garden! good luck with the applications!

Ah, look at it this way, it is better to have your fingers on the keyboard than in a bag of potato chips (please tell me, for the health of your keyboard, that it is not both). :) Yay for la vida lazy! Well dang it anyways. One never knows who will show up alive finally on my buddy list! Um, well, I suspect it is perhaps your buddy people, I certainly have not had a long haitus, and most of the people on my list are still around (and not monkeys). Though I get "hermaphrodite photos" rather than anything transexual. Curious since I don't know any hermaphrodites, and certainly do not have any photos of them, whereas I DO know several transexuals. Quite a few in fact. Cheers, and welcome back to the center of the known universe. tah!

hi owcow...it's great to hear from you! sorry to hear about grad school... but please don't think you failed... the system is a honkin pile of doo and as irrational and arbitrary as they come. remember life and lemonades, silver linings, half full cups, and spilt milk. so cliche and yet been passed along for a reason I suspect :). I just hope you feel better.

You will apply again next year? And thanks for the whiteout advice. I could imagine doing something like that. It had me chuckling. hehe. I don't know if it screams Ohio, but it screams Montreal. Here it is great... put anything you don't want out on the curb when it is not garbage day and within 24 hours someone will have taken it. Sort of like Good Will without having to go to the store and pay. I got three boxes of great vinyl records this way, my chest of drawers and dresser set (in good shape no less!), a leather jacket, and various other items. When I want to get rid of books etc, I stick em in a box and there ya go. A friend of my mom's lives off of picking up broken smallish appliances that are on the curb, and repairing them. Things dont end up in the trash, handymen have a job, and things are recycled without big business. Though I do stop at stained mattresses lying in the rain. hehe. :) cheers!!

that's a funny entry on pyjamas and boobs. Personally I sleep nude, and it is too damn cold in the am for me to be running around naked... I wouldve had something on right away. But I have done stranger things in summer, if the phone rang while I was getting dressed, like saying , just a sec, I'll look it up on the computer, and then realize people are walking by my window while I'm half dressed! thankgod, not looking while they walked!! hmmm jammies!!

Ah geez honey, your so lucky to have Paul. The men in my life are so clueless to anything mechanical. When Vinny started hammering nails into the wall, I bitched Tim out for discouraging such behavior. I told him, I'll be needing someone around the house that is mechanically inclined. As for the car, haha, I've had similar experiences, only to find out it was me and mine. Also, your job will be a job that will hold lots of amusing stories, long after your gone. =]

oh my, yes, i totally understand. You have a huge workload. Suddenly you get a day off... and it looms in your mind aw wow! empty space! oh the things i COULD DO!!! and then just as suddenly it is eaten away by everything that has piled up. Once shopping is done, and the pile of mail, the inbox cleared of spam, the laundry, (in your case studying, in my case looking over new contract terms), the day off is more exhausting and depressing than a regular day! Schedule something great in... like studying with great music, something delectable to eat, IN THE BATH!! :) myself, i bought new "Spanish in a rush" tapes to listen to while I do boring shit! There is nothing wrong with a little fib. Just tell her you don't know exactly when your returning too school. And hey, dont sweat it about the anniversary prezzie... one of the things i hated most about a past relationship was that my guy would always feel like his gift "didnt live up"... like my gifts won some sort of gift-giving competition and he was a failure. Hi! no, havent had time to look for marys! too work and everything else busy. The search for a rosary is on hold too, since there are no shops with this sort of thing in my immediate neighborhood where i walk. Hey! welcome back! No, you don't update too often! (but then right now you're the only one on my buddy list!!) OMIGOD, hearing about your 5:30 am day really puts back into perspective my "lonely self-employed-isolated-worker" dreams of "hey, maybe i should be a school teacher", "maybe i should go to med school" etc etc... gee, 5am, get up in the dark and be forced to work at the pace of others (rarely efficient, often frustrating) for the rest of my life. Ahh, let me once again embrace my unstructured, undisciplined solitary lifestyle. Good luck with yours! I shall enjoy living it vicariously as a counterpoint. One perhaps dumb question... what is the "googleism" blurb??... also, I like your disclaimer. (though I HAVE in my life stumbled across "private" writings, and gotten angry... the old "i was cleaning out my sweetie's pockets to be nice and found this loveletter to his secretary"... the surprise discovery sometimes DOES eclipse the lesser evil of having been there.) Til bientot!!

Oh, don't even get me started on my hatred of math. I have had teachers who lack any general knowledge of hygiene, classmates who literally pissed on the classroom door and threw graphing calculators out the third story window and an algebra teacher who doubled as a coach ad decided teaching was optional during basketball season, instead showing us video of last week's game in slow motion. Needless to say I was quite fond of the calculator technique as well.

The last Miss Manners was evil. She was a rabid bitch monster dictating everyone's lives to them without ever thinking of taking her own advice -- being polite.
The new Miss Manners is much more pleasant. But I have to agree, I would never take her advice. (I honestly doubt if I'll ever be put in more than 2 or 3 of those positions, anyhow.)

Talking about worthless Bachelor degrees; I got mine in Philosophy. I didn't mean to just stop with the Bachelor's degree, I did have grand intentions of getting my Phd and teaching. I ended up doing retail management after that I then worked with the Mentally Retarded as a program specialist. (I wrote step by step plans on how the counselors were to 'teach' the profoundly retarded on how to wipe there asses). Actually that job wasn't nearly as bad as retail, it was sort of up my alley. I could spend days on end making up different sick little senerio's on different staff I didn't like and what I'd have them 'teach' the client. =/

Hey Liz, I feel the same way about people going out of my life. I seriously can think of so many people I never once heard from again. I don't know if it's my fault or theirs.
It gets highly depressing sometimes thinking about it and I often do not forgive myself for missed opportunities in the female department. I complain about it but I can't fix it. So what good is that?
But in all honesty, it's really sad when you've run into soooo many people you used to talk with and then they fall off the face of the earth :-/.

I just read your 100 quirks. Excellent list. I am Canadian and you mention our accents in your list. I think our accents is our complete lack of accent. Everyone I talk to on the net over the phone says I have absolutely no accent. So is that an accent? Man these things keep me awake at night. Great journal.

I agree on the topic of frat boys and car alarms. I also hear horn symphonies every morning the temperature is above 50 F. And why is it that you can always tell the frat boys by their backwards white baseball caps? Or is that just a regional Milwaukee thing? One must really be trying hard to be a cliche unto oneself. Bees...meh, I recognize their dangerosity (hah!) but I've been known to pick them up and put them outside or out of the path of someone's shoe. Ever since I heard they liked flowers, I couldn't find it in my heart to be scared of the little buggers.

You know, I feel pretty much the same way about having a baby. However, the hubby so wants to have one! In fact, he's worked that into his "five year plan". *laughs* I have no idea why it is that he is the one with the massive paternal instinct and yet I have absolutely no desire to have a child.

Oh my GOD! I was just reading your note, when I was transfixed by a banner with 5 beautiful hearts made out of roses. I tried to resist, but clicked on it anyway. Leslie Irene is the devil!

ps- I've been tortured by Leslie Irene banners all day and meant to leave you a note earlier to tell you. Sometimes I forget which are hers and I click on them. I am sadly disappointed once that page opens..

Just like 'itsfunny', I also read the 100 quirks just now. I nearly laughed out loud about the accent thing.. a Canadian accent? As a Canadian I can say I have no idea what you're talking about. We Canadians refuse to believe that we have accents and it is indeed you Americans who are accented. In any event, it's cool to be envied for something. Keep on writing, and I'll keep on reading

Wow! I usually don't post very many notes, but I LOVE your diary. You're a really good writer. Finally someone explains how annoying Leslie Irene is!!! Like every other banner is hers! AHHHH! You have put into words exactly what I've felt. Thankyou.

hey, love your diary!!
I a have question. in your diary, you say "As a sidenote, someone in the United Kingdom stumbled on my diary via a google search for "I am a midget." " I was wondering, how do you find that out? Because I know people have found my diary through search engines, but how do you find out what they searched under?
peace!

Haha. I think the fact that Leslie Irene irritates you is hilarious, cause her page and excessive banners irritate me, too. It was funny because while reading your little blurb on how she irritates you, (I didn't know her real name at the time) I was thinking of how annoyed I get when I see the Porcelin Princess's diary banners, turns out that it's the same person. Anyhow, like you diary and I find your "little irks" quite funny, and interesting cause I can relate.

Hey I just wanted to say that your design is awesome, and I have a question. I don't know if this will make sense to you but I'll do my best lol, how do you make it possable on your page to click on a link and go to new page with more stuff on it without going to another website? I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense, if not then don't worry, like i can click on random and have me go that page I would like to do that how can I do that? thanks

Yikes about the tampon......you'd be amazed at how many women have to go see their gyno about that very same situation.
It happened to me. And the truly cringy part was that I had HMO at the time and had to get a referral from my PCP to go see the Gyno.
Oy vay.......he said he could take care of the situation, that I didn't need to see my gyno.
He removed it with much humor, much to my dismay.
A year or so later, I brought in a foster child to be examined......and in the child's ear, he pulled out a plastic pearl. I clapped my hands, and with much glee, stated I have a child with a treasure chest in his ear!
He looked at me, smirked, and said he remembered a treasure he found from me. =<
You truly must go get it checked out. Its dangerous to keep it in, if it's there. It will also lead to infection.......and a yucky smell.

I also have a nice website for you to visit, since you had mentioned earlier that you saw Jesus in a bar. I felt the need to let you know He was probably looking for a date. Hope you have a great 7 days........wow, what a travel plan and all in one day! =]

hahahaha, I'm totally littering your notes section with my Donnie Darko propaganda. weeee. :) moving on, I think that image on my diary is kind of familiar to most people because whenever you'd see pictures of the movie (as scarce as they were) that was the main clip they'd use. one of the freakiest scenes in the film, no doubt. although I'd highly reccomend that movie to anyone. ciao!
