Oh dear, define "shady reputation." I've been talking to so many different people about this (I have not officially accepted the invitation yet, I have until Friday to decide). I've gotten everything from "oh, you'll be fine, you won't have any issues with anti-American sentiments, or corruption, etc etc" to "your parents should probably be a bit worried about this" and "oh my, you're going to be right in the middle of a lot of unrest". What kind of stuff have you heard? If you've got a lot of stories, my email is jujubird99@hotmail.com. I want to make an informed decision, and you live a bit closer to that area than I do (by "a bit", I of course mean 1000s of miles).

Thank you for the note. It was such shocking news to wake up to and I think we are both probably getting a lot of filtered news. I genuinely feel helpless right now because I those who oppose all of these violent acts are being silenced by lack of media coverage and blatant government censoring. I hope the US does not act rashly with regards to either of these situations, although with Dubya on the throne, the sky's the limit. Here's hoping that this isn't WWIII.
