Laura, that sucks! Years of faithful work and they can fire you over one incident? That doesn't seem right. In my experience here, they're only supposed to write you up for a first offense. This all seems bogus to me. When I got fired it was for a similar reason, but I hadn't been working there for very long and hated it, so I didn't make a big thing out of it. Were I in your situation, I so would have. Fight them!
