Hi there... I would like to add you to my buddy list. I hope you don't mind. I'm going to go ahead and do so now, but please let me know if you object.
I was on DL once before, but left for about a year. Now I'm back, with different material, thoughts, feelings, etc. So... I'm working on my page to get it set to where I can go into writing mode.
Hope to hear from you soon.

To make your bio page, go to the right hand part of the screen, and you'll see an option that says "add an entry." Things you should include in your bio page; Your name, A link to your diary or diaries if you have several, and maybe a short poem if you have one. Feel free to add in other things like what kind of music you like and such, but try to keep it simple. Hope you have a good day! ~Circle Counsil

Oh! I see... I misunderstood what you were asking... I thought you were asking for when Jesus makes mention of himself as the Messiah!
So I guess you would be right... the reason we call him those things: Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace is because Isaiah tells us too... But by the same token we really have no idea if we'd still do it if he hadn't said so.
It's like the stupid vase scene in the Matrix.
But he is called all of those things now... even Everlasting Father as I said before, though the Trinity.
|
| from
colddaughter : |
|
As far as the prophecy being self-fulfilling, Messiah in Hebrew means Saviour, so technically it is... But, it's clear that he meant Jesus specifically, because Jesus refers to these teachings when saying who he is. But we do call Jesus "Everlasting Father", because he is the Holy Trinity. As far as your questions about other planets go, Earth may well be the Israel of the Cosmos, but God reveals himself to different people in different ways, I think... and if we did come into contact with ETs pooling our knowledge of God together would give us a more accurate definition of the creator.

Maybe it is my upbringing, but I was always raised to believe I am a Christian, since my baptism at three weeks old. To me, it is not about being a Christian, but being a good one.
Simply converting to some other faith and returning to yoru old one will do nothing. I do not know everything about my own faith,a nd there is a lot I have to learn. Yours is not as extensive, but just because you yearn for some revival does not mean throw the old away.
Sometimes you have to question yoru questions and your zeal and any desire to change should always be questioned. We both follow our faiths, because we were both raised in them. That is a good thing, not at all bad. We need to learn why we follow our faith and elarn how better to practice our faith. Yes, there are good people who are not Christians, but that is irrelevant to our choices.
As for Ruth and Naomi, Naomi's deeds and love may have been what converted Ruth. That may not be the ideal reason, but what is. There are many people you know who are raised with their faith and don't follow or even care. You are right for keeping the faith. Maybe you may need a new Church, but I think it's best for you to stay with whta you know, rather than just jump into another religion.
On a final note, if thinking about religious renewal, please avoid anything written by L. Ron Hubbard ;)

hi there Q! My main concern is that they are part of a cell. I am concerned that the message about the duck was a coded signal to their buddies basicly saying "we are letting ourselves get caught. it is time to send out another sniper somewhere else". It just seems like they let themselves get caught pretty easily (too easily), at the end anyway. Yea, i have a pretty active imagination and it has been running wild with this. have a great weekend!

Words like Fathers, Father: Authority. Control. Guidance. Recognition. Happiness. Virtue.

Words like Back: Unconscious. Jealous people are against you and there is opposition in love.
Words like Hand: Capacity and competence. Expect big work ahead, meanwhile must take better care of own affairs.
Words like Back: Misfortune in life and will die in misery. Unconscious.
Words like Bar: Relaxation. Indulgence. Irresponsibility. Pleasure. Guilty of foolish actions.
Words like God: Intense enjoyment. Divine masculine. Creation. High ambitions.
Words like Knock: Be on guard. Opportunities. Awareness.
Words like Leave: Changes approaching. Cold feelings.
Words like Playing: Amusement. Joy. Free movement. Need for fun and carefreeness.
Words like Sick: Upset. Unwell. Part of yourself is ready to be healed.

Well, you are not a complete #2, even though that is still impressive. The otehr girl doesn't interest me that much, beyond how you may use that "rivalry" in our fanfic project :) I consider you the good friend and I still see you brining out some of the best qualities humanity can offer. So what if you are not #1. So what if there are people who are better. You're still impressive in your own right. You were salutatorian. You got scholarships to high school. I was ninth in my high school and just barely missed the top 5%. My GPA was 3.2 in College and everyone I knew had better grades and afterschool jobs and all sorts of other impressive credentials and they coudl maintain relationships and be social and not alienate everyone else or be seen as a joke like I was.
Maybe you don't feel your special, but you are to me. In the time I've met you, you've proven a godo friend and a joy to IM. I don't feel intimidated by your intellect; in fact, I like it. I have difficulty talking to mundane people. You also have common sense, and I have virtually none. I understand if you have difficulty seeing your virtues; I have always had self-esteem issues. And if even if you want to be argumentative or bitchy, I'll still be there to offer a hug. Besides, I don't consider you bitchy at all. Maybe you don't have the gold, but silver is still impressive. I was ninth in my class...what do I get? the brass award?
In any event, I guess I get a bit concerned when you are too hard on yourself. Its good to be humble, but I wish you could see your good qualities, too ::big hugs::
God Bless! and have a good day.

My Dear. I hear your concerns and oddly enough, I have the same questions. I lose people in converstaions, because I have trouble keeping a single, simple track. I do not really know exactly how to help you, since I am still in need of help, myself. I can advise you to feel hopeful and avoid dwelling too much on what was. It wasn't until I started the interent that I was told I'm cute, and I never had a job in HS. I still let the past haunt me for everything I did wrong, every time I hurt someone.
I still am haunted by my past and I wasn't exceptionally bad. Your skills are different from those other girls. You have described hwo you have changed recently. The term late bloomer comes to mind. You have a whole life ahead of you and you don't need to dwell on what was, because you can determine what will be. God doesn't make junk, and you're probably one of the best qualities of humanity I've met online or IRL. ::hugs::

I definitely agree with your latest post. In my Unit I am the only virgin, and in Basic I was the oldest one in my whole Battery. I was thinking about asking a girl out and asking for some help by my friend. One of the coworkers was trying to help and as soon as I mentioned I want someone who will respect my sense of chastity, she mentioned I should be broken of my habit (virginity).
That's the mentality that scares me. My roomate respects it, but points out that I am not one in my mind...so what, everyone has impure thoughts except for Jesus, Mary, the Pope, and Mother Teresa. I am glad you're willing to mention your strong stance and keep in there. Wait until you're married. I plan to..in fact, I made a vow to keep my virginity my whole time in the Army and so far, so good. I am a 24 year old vrigin and male. You can definitely keep the faith :)
::hugs:: God Bless

you make it fun, i think, by leaving relevant questions for guestbook and note replies... i find it difficult sometimes, when i find a diary i like, to leave a note. i just don't know what to say most of the time. their writing is great and their writing grabs me, but i just draw a blank and say nothing. but you make that easy, and i have to thank you for that. this is the kind of diary one does not mind coming back to again and again.

i used to write for a sex and dating column. the average answer for the question from guys 19-25 was "confidence". a "sense of adventure" ranked second, but i think the one that caught my eye was "a girl who doesn't want to change me or my habits." and then of course you had the tigress in bed remarks, and the please-not-too-skinny-or-too fat prayers to the gods of aesthetics. in my years playing the field though, i have found confidence to be the best weapon to nab any guy. if you believe it, you are it. wear a sexy dress and feel uncomfortable, and you will look uncomfortable. but wear a sexy dress and feel sexy, and you will be sexy. i think that's the key. a woman who is sure of herself, who can walk up to any sexy stranger and tell him he has a date with her that night, is a keeper. she won't be afraid to live on the edge and go snowboarding or mountain climbing with him. she won't be afraid to unwind and have fun. to try something new between the sheets. she will be sure that he loves her despite the fact he spents a lot of time with his friends or playing computer games or some sport, because she understands every boy needs downtime, too. maybe there aren't any vitamins we can take, but there is certainly a state of mind we can achieve. it doesn't necessarily start with the guys. i think in a way, it starts with us.

i know how you feel. Its hard to know that no matter what you do not everyone is going to be completly satisfied. I was brought to that harsh reality the other day, and what made it worse was that he knew it before i did. Sorry there are no answeres here i just wanted to let you know that your not alone with this one.
