from rainhammers :
It seems I can't add any more diary entries to rainhammers because i can't archive any more pages, and something about the formatting is all screwed up.
from spitfire79 :
password?
from boombasticat :
Tried to leave a note on your new one, but I was not permitted. Listen: I'm glad you're still doing this and you've convinced me to give Cat Power another try.
from fuschia :
definitely.
from division-day :
malkmus story: funny! i don't know if i count as someone who's met you in real life, but your secrets are safe with me.
from idiomatic :
either dland or nyc?
from idiomatic :
are you still here?
from mangotuesday :
maybe someday we will go have at hot chocolate at palio. love and bundled in warm sweaters.
from boombasticat :
"A beautiful truth." Very nice writing, all of it. Fluid.
from division-day :
your writing is beautiful... i hope you can live on whichever coast you like best... and your writing about sex (with jersey boy) is really hot.
from mangotuesday :
oh smallworlds and little details. it was just the most to see you at the fashion show. i wish we could have chatted longer. but i was so happy to meet you. even if it was only for four minutes and three seconds. love and sunday best. ash.
from likeaforest :
thanks! the truth is after i wrote it i realized it sort of ripped off my favorite frank o'hara poem. maybe i should write at the bottom of the entry "see also: lana turner has collapsed!"
from boombasticat :
You around?
from boombasticat :
Dylan certainly reached a point in "Blood on the Tracks."
from geoffchaucer :
What posts that I link to are you refering to? I might address it in my diary, but I don't understand what you mean.
from fuschia :
breathless is very good...
from boombasticat :
Hey, hang in there. That feeling will pass and something better will find you. Or you'll find it.
from boombasticat :
So did you stay or did you go (now)?
from fuschia :
what happened?
from boombasticat :
You're right! And so I will! Your last one was like one of those tiny little tornadoes you sometimes see on the sidewalk.
from boombasticat :
You're not alone in the tired, not-inspired fight. But you've got to keep fighting, though, right? What's the alternative?
from mangotuesday :
i just feel like saying hello.
from boombasticat :
East Coast! My friend from Portland says that the East Coast is louder and also has more black people. Hope you have a fun trip.
from likeaforest :
thanks for the note. just for the record, i'm still reading you, too.
from fuschia :
i know how you feel about wanting to say 'i want to wait until i'm in love'. i should have said that to my last boyfriend, but it's hard to find someone who you think you can fall in love with who actually wants you to fall in love with them. this one cared about my feelings and explicitly warned me not to fall. but i already had. and yeah. i don't know when i will let myself go that far again, but i guess when it's true, you don't get a choice.
from mangotuesday :
did you change your password?
from mangotuesday :
i appreciate knowing you too. trueblue.
from mangotuesday :
grouch is my favourite of the ll crew. much love pretty person.
from boombasticat :
The best description of that particular one I've ever read. And last time I was there, I could have used somebody telling me what I was feeling wasn't bad, only different. You've transcribed magic.
from boombasticat :
Right on.
from expatriot :
i stopped in for 10 minutes to get paid, you saw me?
from mangotuesday :
gogogo! if you want.
from division-day :
the universe as a hologram.. have you read that article? i read it like 3 years ago. crazy shit.
from spitfire79 :
oh! craigslist boys.
from mangotuesday :
my friend kylie just moved to brooklyn. she loves it. even though she had to buy one of those puffy sleeping bag coats.
from boombasticat :
We've been ticker taped. With sex, drugs, and closed captioning. That was fun.
from fuschia :
yes... shopgirl was very good.
from boombasticat :
It still happens. I have to think it does, anyway. It's just less obvious, less pungent. More hard-won. Not socked in the gut, but nudged, maybe.
from spitfire79 :
i'm on the east coast now...
from treepose :
password pretty please? love you long time. [email protected]
from boombasticat :
Whenever I see whanged-up cars on the road, I always want to give them a hand somehow, a little shove in the hind parts. As in, "there you go, buddy. Almost there." I don't know if your car's a buddy, though. Also, I liked your open-mic entry a lot.
from spitfire79 :
i don't suppose you know any good pastry shops in portland? because when i go there i will want pastries, and perhaps we can share some.
from mangotuesday :
my pretty friend. huge hug from hug point. and a happy birthday [cake]to you. love you infinity.
from fuschia :
i was just thinking about that. the whole flying around the globe before you kill yourself idea.
from mangotuesday :
all the love left in my heart. its for you.
from boombasticat :
Much love to you.
from paperfriend :
why did you lock your diary?
from fuschia :
don't joke about the heroin...
from fuschia :
i liked your diary a lot. what's the password? you should email it to me at fuschia @ diaryland.com
from likeaforest :
locked! (?)
from spitfire79 :
so vip!! do i get the password? portland is definitely a possibility. ive got the travel bug and my plan if i have $ left over is to scope out seattle/portland/san francisco, i kinda want to live on the left coast for a bit. in the mean time, come to thailand! you cant beat it.
from mangotuesday :
knockknock love.ly.
from expatriot :
whhhyy
from boombasticat :
I'm sorry you had to lock up your journal. If there's any way to keep reading it, I'd love to be included.
from mangotuesday :
oh this is perfect. because if i do have to take it. thats the class im taking. they said i could take the non major class because i hate drawing so much. !!!! ps i walked by barnes and noble on the way to work yesterday.
from fuschia :
thank you. i have wanted to go to ireland all my life for some reason. i think of it and i think of serenity but the option of a big city as well. i can't describe what i feel. i hope you get to go. do you work at barnes and noble? i was thinking of applying there, but i don't know if they'll hire me. i'm a hard worker but have never had a job before. i like books.
from paperfriend :
that was me! how did you know? dublin. what is it about dublin that draws you there?
from mangotuesday :
which drawing class! b/c i might be forced into taking one before i graduate. so mabye we will be in the same session! are you going to that mary timony show w/viva voce? and ireland. oh do tell. love and lemon.heads.
from mangotuesday :
i was at a party two blocks away from you! or three. its so cute that you drew that picture. i bet he loves you forever.
from paperfriend :
i very much enjoyed meeting you rainhammers/kelly.com
from mangotuesday :
i think i read that mary timony is coming again? and so of course that made me think of you.
from paperfriend :
yeah! i am here. do you know of any rooms for rent?
from mangotuesday :
i would let him in too. love and the earth.quake. i didn't feel.
from boombasticat :
That's a perfect little gem of a journal entry.
from treepose :
love and tan feet.
from spitfire79 :
all experts agree, if you're going to own the first season of the transformers on dvd, the quality has to be shaky and it has to have chinese subtitles. if i can i'll burn the ones i have so i can take them back.
from mangotuesday :
liz phair. and one more paper to go. but i just keep staring at the white screen. bytheway. congrats on being a genious! when are you done?
from likeaforest :
also! did you see a tattoo??
from likeaforest :
tch. and no pictures?
from paperfriend :
it was a pretty quick look. i wasn't even sure if it was a roman alphabet. it may have been hebrew, but it was such a fast look i have no idea.
from expatriot :
my good friend was using his nyu film degree to wash dishes at noodlin. i went to school in part to be a famous runner. i just quit smoking. be well.
from mangotuesday :
dear friend. it sounds like much fun to hang out. on the happiest hour. right after i stop dying of school. love and high gpa/s. ps please send good vibes during the hours of nine and ten o clock. in the am. on friday. thank you forever.
from boombasticat :
R. Cuomo does seem to get off on hits, yes. But maybe they just only had two really good records in them. Pinkerton was heartachy genius (tough to dig that deep again) and The Blue was angular one-leg's-shorter-than-the-other-but-I-don't-care rock. And it sounds like they're always trying to get back to that first album? Regardless, I hold those first two up on fiery pedastals and choirs of young inner-city boys sing when I take them down.
from boombasticat :
Astute! I too find myself, at shows, trying to figure out how they're making all the noises. It's a puzzle. And I don't know a thing about musical instruments. I just link up the hands and feet with chords and beeps. It makes me feel smarter. And then I drink five-dollar Budweisers.
from sls :
hi.
from lead-balloon :
hello ♥
from paperfriend :
a nude sauna. that sounds so nice. is that in portland? is it expensive?
from alix-marie :
Hiya. Just wanted to say thanks for adding me to your list. I am/was a linguistics major! Long story :)
from mangotuesday :
get well soon.
from boombasticat :
I don't know if ever again I would have thought of the verb "to skank" had I not read it in one of your older entries. I saw the Pietasters ("P-Tasters" maybe?) at a free show at Pier Six in Baltimore around 1996 or 97. I remember the skanking very vividly, the knees and elbows. And for some reason, the big-soled shoes everyone was wearing. I think thick-soled shoes were a big thing with the ska kids.
from likeaforest :
what a great entry!
from boombasticat :
I became acquainted with this guy who wrote a novel called "Virginia Lovers." He said the title all along was supposed to be "Virginia Is for Lovers," but when the Virginia tourist people heard about what the novel was about (not travel-industry brochure stuff), they said no go. So when he signed my copy, he wrote "is for" on a little yellow sticker and put it on the cover between "Virginia" and "Lovers."
from boombasticat :
Wordstock sounds great, but I'm afraid I don't know what that is. It'd be cool if it were soup. I've seen Tim O'Brien read. He was into it. And the way he read, you'd never know how much he'd drank.
from likeaforest :
ahhh! i took my camera and was in the very very front row and yet somehow managed to forget my memory card!!
from idiomatic :
if i were [hypothetically] the boy i would say that i was incredibly embarassed and humiliated. not by you, tho. when are guys gonna learn that that kind of stuff happens all the time? silly boys...
from boombasticat :
I think I did talk about early 90s rock on your other one, yes. But I forgot Dinosaur Jr. And, I think your guy is probably embarrassed. I like your journal.
from fuschia :
you are so beautiful!!
from expatriot :
no, that is such a great note though. mangotuesday and my brothers from another family decided that i looked like him. and thus.
from treepose :
real love and heartfelt. thanks for your last entry. well wishes across the livewires. we weren't at holocene on friday. i just saw your note today [i only use the internet during business hours...monday through friday 8:30 to 5:00] but hopefully that will change soon with the stork bringing a pretty white ibook soon. were you there...was there a some sort of show...love and diaryland.
from spitfire79 :
i think i remember when you were just moving out to portland? one year goes by quick. oh, and how did you land your freelance writing gig?
from likeaforest :
o dear, you pronounce my name with a "d"?? also, i think we should be penpals.
from likeaforest :
1) i've had ex hex for a few weeks, because i impatiently downloaded it off of soulseek (i'll buy the real copy soon, though, i swear!) 2)i don't think you mentioned the friendster thing, but ages ago when friendster was still 'cool,' i remember randomly looking her up and being so confused and excited that she had a profile (my first thought was something like, "o! i want to be mary timony's friendster!!). 3) she's playing in san francisco soon, but i'm not sure if i'll be able to go. hopefully. we'll see. 4) i read that edward albee article, too. so so great.
from spitfire79 :
you know i found a newspaper clipping, once -- some of my mother's artwork was in a show that was reviewed by the new york times once, a really long time ago! but she's never mentioned it. otherwise it's either really informative or really pretentious. it's banned here! oh and can you send me your email again? your last entry reminded me of a poem i read in <hehe, snortsnort> the new yorker once.
from likeaforest :
by the way, how was the party? (a smashing success, i hope.)
from zaziel :
Thank you for the compliment to my ass, which is always a way to my heart.
from straysparrow :
Hi (curious. Just noticed I was on your faves). Sparrow. xx.
from treepose :
blush*
from mangotuesday :
password sent. [although you aren't missing much. just me being vague and depressed.] how nineties of me. i also think the my so called life soundtrack has a couple plaid flannel party songs. maryjanes and my fanatic love for billy corgan. [which is always how i remember st. patricks day!] and when i was in highschool i had seven pairs of doc martins. love and angst.
from mangotuesday :
nice setlist. your party sounds wicked fun. love, ash.
from southeast :
i'll share my sassy's with you (: and if you send me an email address, i'll give you a password of course. xxxx.
from likeaforest :
by the way, if you ever do come through sacramento for a visit, i would be happy to show you around.
from likeaforest :
so how was thanksgiving? or has the show not happened yet? either way, i hope to be the first to know!
from chatterwall :
i am a girl.
from paperfriend :
it was by bill clinton. i joke. it was by henry david thoreau
from mangotuesday :
i have a feeling that adrian orange is probably someone awesome that i should already know about. but don/t. please oh please fill me in. are you going to go? i've actually never been to bluebluewalls nocturnal. not even for craftnight. love and all this sun in the sky. i hope your friendster inbox remains sketchy person free. xoxo
from spitfire79 :
literally exploded, yes! it was messy. i miss them so.
from kittykat78 :
Hey I got your comment on the blog the other day. I miss you! I cannot believe it has been since New Year's. Let's try to connect sometime soon. I lost your email address, so if you can shoot me an email that would be great! Hope you are well!
from spitfire79 :
should i buy a new guitar (a really beautiful blue one) or a dvd player? it's so hard to choose, i'm not sure i can afford both, because i also need to buy a new cellphone (the other was lost in a chinese toilet, long story.) what kind of linguistics class are you taking? are you studdying a new language? learn one and go to the country they speak it. then send me a postcard. (p.s. southpark site hilarious).
from expatriot :
reading over that note makes me feel weird. but i hope that you do check into those.
from expatriot :
i would happily waste a dollar on an acappela version of 99 problems. but if you want to gain something 'extra' in return- you should seek out djbrovnic, in croatia. that is definitely on my list. also, morocco is supposed to be awesome and ridiculously cheap. barcelona is super fun... really really fun. paris is fucking georgeous. amsterdam is totally cool. but those top two are a bit more off the radar generally.
from mangotuesday :
maybe a bunch of us should go on a diaryland vacation. somewhere sunny. i think you are the best. with all of that douglas coupland you have been reading. which is reminding me of the shampoo planet/lifeaftergod page turning i used to do with my longest longtime friend. who i miss very much. and so i was happy to have that memory again. love and bookclubs. [and it would figure. that your favourite flannery o conner story. is my favourite too.]
from likeaforest :
when you sent me the email, i had assumed things had been worked out, but i guess maybe not. but new boys on the horizon are never a bad thing, yeah?
from treepose :
love and everything after.
from likeaforest :
o, i'm sorry, that sounds really awful.
from sunnflower :
Hi from Suburban Island. Stopped in off your banner. It's beautiful.
from hodgson :
thanks :)
from straysparrow :
Hi (curious). Sparrow. xx.
from likeaforest :
psst. look, adrian orange is playing in your very city in march: http://www.marriagerecs.com/shows also, did you see that mary timony set an official release date?? i'm all kinds of excited.
from studiofreek :
It's so funny,I had been meaning to ask galaxy about her skin, it's so perfect. It must be the genes I assume.
from likeaforest :
thank you for the entry about your parents. i, for one, thought it was really pretty brave.
from mangotuesday :
yeah its good thing he didn/t have to use his ak. i want an art degree and i want to make a documentary too! kindred. are you going to see collin meloy play on friday? and what/s your favourite flannery o conner story because i have been meaning to ask. love, ash.
from annivate :
jesbohn. i think thats the diary name. they have it set up where you see the older entries when you go to the page.
from candoor :
merry happy new year to you and may all of your dreams come true... or at least a few :)
from kittykat78 :
Hey Kelly Love your site. Read the one about roomates family. I felt so bad for you that you were in your room that whole time...I couldn't stand the messy kitchen thing last year. Glad you have your living space back! -k
from likeaforest :
is this who i think it is, maybe?
from mangotuesday :
you're pretty. love, m.
from omnipre5ence :
