from hlao-roo :
to your last one: a big big yes.
from intheory27 :
I haven't read your words in years and forgot what I was missing. You're brilliant, what was I thinking? =/
from hlao-roo :
reading you makes me smile.
from sleepystorm :
youre on fire. like a springsteen song.
from sunkship :
you are brilliant. my favourite line was the one about the sun brewing and stuff. brilliant
from sleepystorm :
hi. youre pretty great these days.
from sunkship :
hi
from sleepystorm :
josh. your poems make me jealous. but more importantly, your poems make me cry. this latest one, beautiful girl, is so much like a neutral milk hotel song. the way the words read, and feel. i swear, you are wasting all of your talent at your casual office job. x
from randimac :
God, I have been horrible! I haven't been here in ages. I hope you are doing well. I have been doing pretty well considering and have spent my time in another blog of mine. randimac.journalspace.com Check it out sometime if you can.
from treedancer :
hey you, did you get my mail? :) is all well with you?
from treedancer :
yep, would love to. do you have a mail addy though? mine is in the profile.
from treedancer :
You remind me of my friend from Boston. Often wonder about him. I hope your stuff turns out for the better - with a multitude of sparkles for good measure. :)
from treedancer :
said it before, sayin' it again: i like your way with words. :)
from futureceo :
Hi. I saw your name on the members updated list and liked it. I wish you well.
from randimac :
Happy new year! Yes, I am late and I am sorry. I hope you are ok and that 2005 is quite prosperous for you.
from sleepystorm :
happy new year, josh!! i hope it was a great one for you. hey, i need your email address (i dont have it anymore), because i have a business proposition for you... xo
from sleepystorm :
sometimes, its as if ive never known who you were. i feel that way when i read the things youve written. especially lately. i always knew you were an amazing person, with heart, and with soul, passion & drive, but i never knew, not those years ago when you lived in this city, that you had all of these muses inside of you - with poetry better than books, and pictures better than imagination. sometime, we have to say hi again. x
from sleepystorm :
maybe you can email her? x
from treedancer :
ahh my friend....Yes indeed. A bigger bastard than expectation? (Love?) heh...and "Hope" - fine line between Hope and expectation, between it all. When Hope takes a walk, we're all pretty much screwed. It takes time to rebuild. {{hugs}} Hang in there, ok? By the way, "Generate" is excellent.
from randimac :
I don't do too well with change either. I am wanting a bit of change though so that I have more friends and a good full time job. And a date or two. That's so cool you shook John Kerry's hand. And just think, Dubya can't run again so it's the last of him. Anyway, take care, ok? Things'll look up soon.
from treedancer :
when it comes right down to it, *all* that really truly matters is your *own* expectation(s) of yourself. If sometimes those are too high, rethink. Adapt. Relax? Sorry you are having a rough time...
from greentealeaf :
wow!! how exciting for you joshua! yeah, i was really sad to hear about bush's winning. fucking ohio & texas. ahh. am now trying to calm my nerves by listening to radiohead.
from sleepystorm :
omg! omg! that IS cool. i would LOVE to shake john kerry's hand. i would faint. stretchers would be involved. that i know. i cant believe most of this country, josh. i just cant. i nearly got ran off the road...TWICE...for my anti-W sticker, and the fact that i have "the only bush i trust is my own" written in bold shoe polish print on the back window of my car. i hate rednecks. :( x
from treedancer :
*chuckle! no worries. :)
from treedancer :
from the "what your grandma used to say" Book of Life: "can't trust someone who has thin lips." Don't know how that applies to girls, but it certainly seems to be true of blokes.
from treedancer :
they say: that which is broken, can be mended; alternatively, you can always start over. Create new?
from sleepystorm :
is josh in love? x
from greentealeaf :
sure thing. and i forgot how i got to your site, in fact i only *guessed* it might be yours since the name 'joshua' and your profile picture seemed really familiar. it still took me a while to guess it was yours though. i totally love the site, i had no idea your skill was so spectacular! you're a pro, josh. cheers.
from thelittlefox :
joshua, it's me, greentealeaf. this is my alter ego and i *think* i've used two of your images from what i suspect is your site in my layout. i realised the site was yours much after i decided to use them though. i just thought i should let you know & feel free to tell me if you don't approve of it. thanks.
from carrots20 :
WOW IS THAT REALLY YOUR WORK I AM EXTREMELY IMPRESSED
from treedancer :
that's great! if i ever get some money sorted out, i'll let you know. :-D i think you've done well with the categories already - it can be a hard thing to do. i'll link to you later on. :)
from treedancer :
ugh...I meant to add that the "nature" section isn't loading here at all? That might be 'cos there's nothing in it of course, heh, but it might be something else?
from treedancer :
heh, funnily enough I know what you meant. Made sense to me. I think Causeway is excellent - thankyou for sharing that with us. *If* I ever become fluent in the way of money, would you ship outside the states? Mebbe you could include yes/no in the pricings section? I have a friend in Boston who would tell me of the North End and Hanover St. It was great to see that brought to life in your pictures. I do miss him.
from treedancer :
"Speak Son" is really rather good. Glad to see you are back for a little while. What is it about love that scares people so much? Maybe it is not love itself, but maybe the fear of rejection? When, as people, did we all become so terrified? I don't know. Good poem though.
from candoor :
good to see you are still writing (though am lost elsewhere most of the time :)
from randimac :
oops. I meant <b>www.yafro.com</b>
from randimac :
Hey. I think you ought to be real nice to the old guy. =0) I hope you're fine. Oh by the by, I found this website, www.yabro.com and you can put all your photos there for free. You would have a million hits on your site in a snap since your photos are masterpieces. Think about it and let me know if you sign up!
from sleepystorm :
give me your camera, btw. x
from sleepystorm :
josh -- these are some fine photos. this one, might be one of your best -- just the mood that you captured. its so f'n great! i know i say that about all of your photos - but this one..wow. you make me want to quit. http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2553423
from greentealeaf :
aahahaha. i totally loved your 'the old man' entry. i hope you're well, thinking of you. :)
from sleepystorm :
hey - gorgeous site, Josh!! it looks so so nice! it suits you so well, too! all your gorgeous photos in one home. i love it! xx
from sleepystorm :
two things: the three photos youve posted (especially 'the streets i call my home') are absolutely stunning!!!!! second: i hear you got your website up & running? link, please? i wanna see, and i can then add your site to my link section on bending-light. love you, Joshy! x
from treedancer :
I really like the "life in the gutter" picture; the others are cool, but that one is special. :)
from randimac :
I know I haven't been around in awhile but I have been thinking of you and I hope I see more of your poetry. I hope you're fine. Take care!
from randimac :
Beautiful poem, your latest. As always.
from sleepystorm :
hey. i need your advice on SLRs. the camera you use, what kind exactly is it? just a regular Nikon FM? do you just have the one lens? im getting a new camera, and i dunno what kind to get, really. x
from sleepystorm :
hey. hey! my website is almost done (www.bending-light.com) and i added your photo gallery to my links page. hope thats ok. x
from nebulous615 :
Hanover street...what a beautifully written entry.
from ember-days :
sorry, i got your msg but 3 days after you left it, im off three in a row. Then I forgot to call you. Yeah, tiff is back. They are putting a few of her poems in a "new american poets" book or something like that, then I think they are putting a small book out early next year of like 45 poems. So thats about it. Sorry for the delay. My computer had a virus and I just got it back. miss ya, love Nicole
from randimac :
This last picture of the sunset is just beautiful!
from randimac :
I love the photos. You have quite a gift. Thank you for sharing. =0)
from treedancer :
I like your new photos muchly.
from randimac :
I love this last poem. America ought to be sobbing considering our present military involvements. But that's me...always worrying about something!
from randimac :
I am still alive, in case you were wondering. I just have been busy. Congrats on being an uncle again. I still love your poetry. I hope you're fine. =0)
from ember-days :

from ember-days :
Hi Josh, I miss u
from greentealeaf :

from greengrin :
I'll keep you posted:)
from greengrin :
A picture of yourself. Is that okay with you?
from sleepystorm :
hey josh. sorry. my phone is off at the moment, cause i dont have my charger for it. i havent stayed at home in two weeks. yes i still want to come out there. so so bad. i had to have surgery this last saturday, and i had to pay for my medical expenses, since i dont have insurance, and thats swallowed all my money. there are cheap flights via southwest, but i cant even afford that. ive only got 12 dollars. i want to be out there soon though. thats for sure. ill call you when i get my phone charged up. x
from greengrin :
Hi Joshua, Do you think you can mail me your picture at [email protected]. So that I can credit the pictures for the site. Thanks. Lanny
from greengrin :
Thanks Joshua. -Lanny
from sadgreeneye :
Hey Greengrin. You don't have your notes turned on. Yeah, you can use them as long as you don't use them for other stuff. Which ones did you want? Take care. --Joshua
from greengrin :
Hi:) I was just wondering if I can use some of your photos for my new site. It will be credited of course.
from treedancer :
you're welcome; thanks for posting it.
from treedancer :
I like your "Shutterbug" poem a great deal.
from sleepystorm :
do you have any of those photos from boston up on that link you posted? id like to see how some of them turned out..x
from greengrin :
Thanks Joshua Burney. Great photos:)
from randimac :
I am safely back from Mexico..and I wish I had seen your note before I left because there was this guy I just might have said those words to. Anyway, I hope I catch you on AIM one of these days and that you are fine.
from treedancer :
good heavens, that camera / film / fed deal is totally insane. no matter that someone could get that info off the 'net anyways *rolls eyes. at least they didn't arrest you.
from sleepystorm :

"milk cows and wookies" - heh! there is a field near me where some Angus Aberdeen's roam free. Their coat is more of a richer red than in your photos, but, still. cool pictures.
from ember-days :
happy thanksgiving!! love ya, Nicole
from treedancer :
heh, thanks. i hope you have a good holiday. :)
from ember-days :
hahahaha,I've seen satans face while smoking weed and staring at fire. I just called you, you voicemail is so loud, it hurts my ears. You should work on that. xo Nicole
from shalyndo :
Josh, bro, Dude.....Hope all is to your liking. Whats the deal with the drug and photo dialogue, (not putting it down, just dont understand) its probably just the way my head has been lately. Anywho...keep up the writing,or I will have to hurt you :? .......be carefull I know Shalyndo
from nebulous615 :
1013 miles for me. (I only stop for gas. Stopped once for a 30 min. nap. I guess I'm not as hard core as you?) Maybe you should have that lead foot looked at....
from nebulous615 :
15 hours! Is your middle name Dale? It takes me 18 hours. Hmm. Something does not compute. ;)
from nebulous615 :
Oh good, I'm not the only one fascinated by going into a new state. It's especially a helpful "habit" when driving from one end of the country to another. illinois, missouri, arkansas, texas.
from greengrin :
More pixs please: )
from ember-days :
Josh, I loathe my job and my boss is a CUNT!!! Tiff and I called you on halloween. -nicole
from randimac :
You have best bits of randomness
from treedancer :
actually, most people over here tend to say "sked-ule" not "shed -". when some insist it should be "shed" they seem to go curiously quiet when presented with: "how do you say: s.c.h.o.o.l. then?" heh. ;)
from stargirl17 :
october 7th (the 1st entry)...so eloquently put,so true, & you know what, i'm glad i dont have the script to this fantastic act either...
from greengrin :
I think artists are genuises. I especially love Renoir : )
from shalyndo :
Hey bro......How are things with you? Looks like you have twice as many people writing to you. Thats cuz you're so interesting. Anywho, I hope you are doing very well and I hope you are happy. Have a good one .....Shalyn
from greengrin :
I was "huh"ing to your "huh"ing about the Yankees and the Braves: )
from greengrin :
huh?
from randimac :
Thanks. It is something to be reminded of, to ignore what other people think. It was open mic night at college where I read my poetry. When I was writing about my friend, I was thinking about Hemingway. Some people say it was due to his tragic life that he was a good powerful writer. Email or IM me sometime if you want to talk, I am open to it.
from greengrin :
hehehe....darn I'm found out. yup have several diaries online. only because i am actually an intensely private person but love to make friends. so at first, i made it such that each diary shows an exaggerated side of my personality.greengrin though suits me fine. i think i'lll be sticking to it now : ) ps: agreed. diaryland is amazing. pps:you write and take photos well.do you draw too?
from randimac :
Thank you for taking us along on your journey. =0)
from greengrin :
hi, your recent entry is so eloquent that the images of your words haunt me in my sleep.
from lannyismail :
Oh, I thot it's every professional photographer's dream. I assumed you are one: )

The National Geographic could use a talent like yours : )
from treedancer :

from tapestrygirl :
i love "stars". what a fab song.
from randimac :
It's always great to find music from the past.
from sleepystorm :
that whole Hum album is genius!!! x
from sleepystorm :
i think nicole told you about whats going on, so im sorry for the delays in the book being sent to you. im awful with those things sometimes. but you will indeed get it soon. i promise. i was driving around the other weekend, i had Beautiful Girls in the car, just got it on dvd finally, and it made me think of sadgreeneye, it made me think of josh. of the boy with the giant blue eyes and the heart thats just to big for a body. sometimes, i get out of the loop of reading diaries, because i feel to lazy to do so, but when i read yours, i go back and read all of the entries ive missed, and im just always in awe at your thought process. it happens every time, too. i'll read something, like the very first poem i read from you when you started this diary, and i'll pull someone over to the desk, and say "read this..." because im always that blown away by your words. your photos. you. i miss seeing you around the office, laughing and making fun of wade or some other bumpkin who we always poked fun at, but never in a cruel way, always jokingly, and polite (if making fun of people can ever be considered polite). i miss talking about tom petty, too. because we both know Wildflowers is such a brilliant album. you have some balls on you, thats for sure. packing up & leaving a life you never loved here in texas, and moving to boston, where you knew it was a risk, but you were willing to do it. your conviction was all you needed, and its all you went on. i respect that. with all of the problems i go through in my life, half of which im sure i bring on myself, i guess i should look at you and use it as an example of the pros of such a change. the cons are there, sure ... but the trials & tribulations of the choice you make are just part of living. part of life. i hope you are doing well, and i hope your sister, brother in law, and nephew are doing well, also. give me a call sometime. too bad you dont live around here, cause me & nicole could kick your ass at volleyball on a cool summer night. x
from nebulous615 :
your nephew is gorgeous...and yes, boys can be gorgeous. [grin]
from nebulous615 :
as far as my tardy welcome-back ... well, I just didn't know you'd been home since it took you so long to write. so be happy with what you got. [grin] and thanks for the wave. I waved at a couple planes that flew overhead.
from nebulous615 :
welcome back...in a more than geographical sense.
from treedancer :
hiya, just wondering how you were doing?
from greentealeaf :
where are you at joshua? miss your words ...
from winterglows :
Looking at your diary makes me feel calm and peaceful. That little boy IS the cutest kid alive.
from sleepystorm :
happy belated birthday Josh! by the way -- the photo of the bum, im assuming, with the bird on the bow is absolutely stunning!!! x
from shalyndo :
Hey you....How is my brother from another mother doing?? I have moved and that is the reason I havent written much. I hope all is well.Thank you for writing. Take care of yourself...........Love, your sister from another mister
from randimac :
I love your pictures!
from intheory27 :
Fantastic, I'll have to remember to wave back. :) And thanks so much for the note. It's always nice to hear from new people, even if it's just a back-note. Thanks so much. :)
from intheory27 :
Hey, I just wanted to stop in and say hello. I randomly came upon your diary and enjoyed my stay. Your words and pictures are beautiful. :)
from nebulous615 :
aww. quite cute. excellent pictures as usual. and have a great trip. i'll try to forgive you if you don't stop over on your way west...
from nebulous615 :
don't ya love red-eye flights? strap on a parachute and hop out a little earlier than touchdown.
from greentealeaf :
Joshua, thanks for dropping by, you're really sweet you know. ;) i hope the aching goes away soon enough for you .. ~from sydney
from nebulous615 :
when do you return to the midwest? better to wallow in primitive lyrics in person than pixels. [grin]
from treedancer :
yep, enjoyed your pictures here too. :)
from nebulous615 :
loved the pictures. the first one cracked me up. it reminded me of the good ol' days of trying to read through "icelandic sagas" for class...
from nebulous615 :
why thank you! how'd you know it was my birthday? who told? [grin]
from nebulous615 :
your birthday is the same day as my mom's. of course i can't wish you happy b-day since mine was only a couple weeks ago and i heard not a peep from you. tsk tsk.
from cozmikgurl79 :
Just wanted to give you props for your photography - it rocks! I like your style of writing, too, and your taste in music.
from randimac :
Your writing gives me peace. Thanks.
from shalyndo :
Just out of curiosity, how have you been? I hope all is well Shalyn
from tapestrygirl :
dood. you are so right on about the weather here. rain rain and more rain. i feel like i moved to seattle, not boston. bleh.
from nebulous615 :
Argh! I got scooped on the orange-man story! And there was even a picture in the real paper. heh. (If I get my hands on a scanner, I'll show you the picture.) ah well...maybe next time. http://www.madison.com/archives/read.php?ref=wsj:2003:06:08:270114:FRONT
from nebulous615 :
heheh. it was almost that bad...I didn't have internet access for a week. It killed me. I had been looking forward to the conference so I could have writing time to update here. ah well. thanks for noticing, though. ;) (that was an Eeyore moment, I think)
from rageofangelz :
joshua has been my favourite guys name since i was 12 and read what is now my favourite book... yups... rage of angels. im going to name my first boy that *hehe*
from treedancer :
"I think my paths crumble away behind me." - see, now that's a good thing. If they were crumbling *infront* of you, you'd be in trouble - trust me. ;)
from treedancer :
perhaps it is not the trees that doubt you, but yourself? in everything there is risk. check out the following link to a poem by Rinpoche - one of my favourites; which of course isn't to say that anyone else will like it ;): http://quietatnight.diaryland.com/aogyalrinpo.html
from shalyndo :
I apologize for not staying in touch. Thank you for not forgetting me, it means alot. I will be back to normal everyday writing soon. I would love to post pics but I have no way of doing it. No money for equipment. I will just have to enjoy yours :> Much Love, Shalyn
from ember-days :
Josh, those are amazing pictures. I love them all. love ya -Nicole
from greentealeaf :
"aNd in between the moon & you, angels got a better view of the crumbling line between . . ." hmm. i just remembered, i found you under the list of ppl who had CC as "fav bands". damn .. one more reason to love them .. ;) p/s. tHank you for your blessings Joshua .. may your days get better and better too.
from rageofangelz :
tis a pity life cant be lived in hours. i cling to my childhood for all its worth and even though im no longer in it, in my heart i will always be...
from pillow-wept :
beautiful again. more! more! hey, what camera are you using for those? lenses? what? tell me! tell me! x
from greentealeaf :
yah huh .. been listening to sad Counting Crows for three days in a row .. & yesterday was a little better than the day b4 so i had to write it down .. btW are you really (half) cute like that ...? ;)
from pillow-wept :
seriously beautiful new photos you posted Josh. that cemetary one is goooorgeous! the contrast of colors is excellent! x
from treedancer :
Nice to see you bashed those gremlins ;) There is an arboretum near me: had forgotten about it until I saw your JP pictures (I know, how can one forget a tree place?! *boggle* heh)On picture uploads: eh. Not sure I have anything of use to suggest - obvious question but I guess you are saving them as .jpegs before uploading? Some sites appear to alter sizes, so perhaps that's what happening at d/l?
from pillow-wept :
Josh ... lovely photos! i love them all. more! more! x
from tapestrygirl :
cutie-pie. my my.
from treedancer :
your pictures are showing up as little red x's over here - but, that could well be due to my computer burping, or IE or techy gremlins, or... ;)
from greentealeaf :
hey You .. looks like things aren't always ever-green anymore. it was nice 'knowing' you Joshua.
from f4sakndauter :
you know. I once had a thought. If all the lonely people got together. They'd still be lonely. how sad.
from nebulous615 :
My mom said this to me this afternoon: "Hey Neb, have you seen that guy downtown who always wears orange?" "Why yes," I answered. "He's the main character of a story I wrote and the subject of my pre-paparazzi training."
from treedancer :
I hope you feel better soon.
from porktornado :
Thanks for the longest note ever. I spend an inordinate amount of time at work doing non-work things, too. I'll check out your diary tomorrow. Not now- i'm not getting paid. Holy crap! your name is Joshua?!? THAT'S MY BROTHER'S NAME. Kinda' gives you chills, don't it? Okay, maybe it doesn't. Mad love- -=D=-
from randimac :
I hope you feel better soon!
from randimac :
More drunk people! You must be a magnet for that sort of thing! =0)
from nebulous615 :
oh no...get better soon, ok. i didn't know i was contagious through notes ;)
from nebulous615 :
[grin] yes. he's here for the first time...three weeks of "meet the parents." and -- the pied piper now wears green sweat pants. he looks more like a pumpkin, i suppose. his previously white hair and beard are now flourescent yellow. i'm bringing my camera to campus on the next sunny day. ;)
from shalyndo :
hey, thank you for the positive words. No, really, i needed it. Ive been kinda scared with all this health crap goin on, and sometimes forget that faith is still an option. Hope life is treating you well. peace!
from stargirl17 :
"the lonely window" sort of encapsulates how i'm feeling right now & "the freshman" brings me back too. when it came out i was a freshman & we thought it was so cool. oh, pissy pants wont be pissy pants anytime again soon. we told everyone we know the story. he hasnt drank since! haha. -kate
from treedancer :
"the only window" - resonates. I like it.
from tapestrygirl :
FYI. people from holland arent danish, theyre dutch. people from denmark are danish. :)
from greentealeaf :
mmph. so many notes. you are so popular--but seeing that you got your phone after all--that doesn't surprise moi. ;)
from stargirl17 :
i have a serious case of stress induced insomnia, so i decided to read some more. it's kinda funny how i have never been to boston & i have not a clue as to who you are & i can see everything you describe. kate
from nebulous615 :
So did they teach you that guilt trip tactic at work or are you just naturally gifted?
from stargirl17 :

Mexico is closer...I bet you anything you could probably end up there after a few of your free drinks....
from nebulous615 :
p.s. is your company hiring? Granted, toting kids to the pool all summer is a free tan (ok, sunburn in my case) but the comedy club and free drinks sound better than mac and cheese and another Olson twins mystery movie.
from nebulous615 :
ammendment: *pressure* I wasn't going to quit...you see...I was just near death. But I've returned from the narrow tunnel of darkness for the express purpose of furnishing you with the picture. I will notify you of further updates.

from randimac :
Thanks for your last note.
from randimac :
Hey. At least you didn't have a dream about the end of the world like I did. Dreams about crappy phones are definitely better, I must say.
from pillow-wept :
wow. your entry today. "the sun & the sea". wow. x
from nebulous615 :
I spotted the prime suspect riding his bike. If I had inched my car forward three more brake-pedal-releases the quarry would have been mine!! mwuah ha ha. He wore his orange clogs to complete the ensemble that day. I think his piccolo might have been in his backpack. But I'm starting to feel like a casual stalker. (And of course I didn't have the camera with me that time. I think he smells it and stays far, far away...)
from randimac :
Man...I totally understand you being pissed. Maybe you ought to find the drunk guys....the higher ups car....

Alas...everything was in place sans piper. It's such a beautiful day today, I wonder where he is.

i'm a couple steps further to capturing the pied piper. i have film, camera, inclination, good weather, and perhaps even time.
from shalyndo :
yes, the pics were cool. Very nice! What kind of camera are you using? I too am a photographer. My only complaint is that yes I did have to wait a long time for them to load, but the pics were worth a few grey hairs. :> Anywho, Have a great day/night and keep on truckin' gangsta sha :>
from nebulous615 :
a picture...an excellent idea. i just have to get my act together and buy film, use the roll of film, develop the film... but of course you'll be the first to see Mr. Neon Orange.
from treedancer :
they take a little while on a crapped out connection, **but** please don't stop showing them.
from nebulous615 :
definitely don't stop with the pictures.
from pillow-wept :
josh. i love the realness you capture in your photographs. my next project, after i complete the poetry manuscript will be a photo box. you and i should collaborate, and we can join our photos together. it'd be fun. im serious, too. jerk :) x hold me?
from shalyndo :
Hey You, yeah you. Look at me Im Joshua, Im gonna tell Shalyn to write, but Im gonna take forever on my journal. :> My friend that left and came back, well, she wrote to me in her journal, and it made me cry. I am so totally overjoyed that she is back. You should check out the cool stuff she wrote about me. Hey, somebody said nice stuff about me, I will make a big deal about it. :> Her name is in my notes setting. Anyways, Get back to writing SLACKER Much Love to ya Shalyn
from greentealeaf :
haha, you really crack me up sometimes. in fact, i'm gonna have to steal that middle-aged woman/spiderman photo! :p
from shalyndo :
hi... sorry if I was a bit harsh with my last note. I just get touchy with those topics. Please accept my apology. I will work on that. And HA HA HA at the crack on my love life. Have a good one no have a good million
from treedancer :
Mix of sunshine and showers earlier on; then sunshine; now, it's just getting cold and dark ;) Nope, never have explained the TD nick in the diary. Long story very short: the idea came from something (ok, ok, it was a terribly bad poem, heh) I wrote a while back. :)
from treedancer :
"treehugger...intimate...?" - errrr...?Wouldn't that cause an indescribable amount of splinters?
from randimac :
LMAO That story about the drunk guys doesn't surprise me at all now that I've been at college!
from treedancer :
Just thought I'd finally say "hi" ;)
from nebulous615 :
and who *do* you write for?
from greentealeaf :
giving me hell? ha~ you know you're adorrrable! ;) -D.
from greentealeaf :
joshua. i knew i'd confuse you with the idioteque note. that's why i said it. (who would've guessed it'd confuse you even more!) and yeah, i only know Idioteque from Kid A. it wasn't their greatest album i suppose .. as for my name (there goes my name complex), would you call me by "D"? ;)
from greentealeaf :
lol. idioteque .. from "kid a"? i thought you were a radiohead fan! but i don't blame you, i'm a bit dense myself. X)
from greentealeaf :
urgh .. "Idioteque" puts me on a high everytime. :D (sorry if i confused you, as i said, i'm feeling high)
from f4sakndauter :
LMBO...you must make good money if that's what you sell ;)
from nebulous615 :
aww
from shalyndo :
I often volunteer my time at rehabs and clinics, so I know the feeling you had. The only difference between us is I am a recovering alcoholic and addict. I now have 4 years sober thanks to God and A.A., but I know that If I am not carefull, I could lose this life in a heartbeat, and be that woman. I thank god for chance to talk to people like that. They make me remember who I was and how gratefull I am to be where I am today. Maybe you can try to look at those people as struggling human beings, instead of misunderstood people, or troubled people. The truth is that we are all struggling human beings. All different colors, sizes, classes. But, we are all trudging the road to happy destiny, we are all the same.
from randimac :
I truly believe in you being able to do more than just be numb in 12 years, because if that's all you can be, than I am in trouble!
from shalyndo :
Thanx for the compliment. Sometimes I need to hear things like that. Believe it or not, that made me feel better. I hope you have a wonderful day. Keep on keepin' on w/ the writing.
from pillow-wept :
...J, that photo is A M A Z I N G . x
from greentealeaf :
Aw, congratulations josh ..
from nebulous615 :
Twelve times an uncle? Congrats. (Why did I suddenly feel like bursting out with "three times a lady"...highly inappropriate I'm sure.) I feel somewhat compelled to give you an update on the Piccolo playing street leprochaun. The orange still clings to his hair and beard, though the silver is showing its roots. He now has orange covers for his shoes. He wore shorts today, though, so the total-orange was less than complete. I await the day he dyes his leg hair. Erm, maybe not, but I'll keep you posted.
from ember-days :
congrats josh. Thanks for the note. I guess I'm still to chicken to move out to L.A. but who knows maybe one day it will happen. i guess im just not as brave as you.I really miss you Josh. I was about to tell you to call me and leave my phone number right here in my note. Then I just realized that I probably should'nt do that considering a lot of people read your journal. I don't want to have to change my number b/c of prank calls. So email me so I can give you my number. If you don't have my email address. Email tiffany. -Nicole
from shalyndo :
CONGRATS! I have 3 nieces and 1 nephew. They are wonderful. They keep telling me to get married and have kids, but I like the idea of spoiling their kids better. She is beautiful.
from ember-days :
Joshua, Its me Nicole, email me sometime.
from greentealeaf :
as for the crazy time difference, since its impossible for my anti-clockwise working brain to figure it out, i'll just leave you with this link. ;) http://www.icq.com/languages/timecenter.html
from greentealeaf :
Hello Josh. Yeah, it is indeed getting into Winter here. They always seem to skip the Autumn bit and rush into Winter, as if they can't be bothered with the hassle. What makes it sadder is that, no one seems to notice it other than me. Because I really like autumn.
from pillow-wept :
josh - i feel as you do tonight. email me, jerk :) x
from thevina :
I don't think that there will be spitting in the airports when the soldiers return. We have all had to see the fatigue and disappointment of an uncle, or dad, or history teacher who had to hide their uniform when they walked through the streets. The shame of the opposers is a lesson learned from Vietnam.
from nebulous615 :
no parade, but someone who should have been in one: the piccolo player, his grey beard dyed bright orange to match his orange jumpsuit, a green shamrocked "dr. seuss hat" on his head, riding his bicycle down the street.
from tapestrygirl :
i'd hide with you.
from randimac :
Thank you! VA
from pillow-wept :
hey josh- celestial park is like five minutes from my apartment, you goof! you should know that! i LOVE it there. especially at night. when the stairs are all lit up, and the pathway behind that section of trees where you can see the backyards of all those giant houses? i LOVE it. and theres that one little bench that is draped by the willow trees? oh i LOVE it. when the HELL are you coming back to this dump to visit?! :) (and i dont really think that place has any sort of evil :) ) x
from nebulous615 :
yes, the reason for music.
from randimac :
I love the way you write.
from shalyndo :
HeHeHe, pretty funny! I needed a laugh. Thank you for the note, it is as always appreciated. No, No bells thank God. She is alot better at yelling if she doesnt agree with something. Although, she is still pretty out of it and is mumbling a whole lot. I cant help but make fun of her, but I told her I would. I must now go make coffee for everyone. Have a great day! You must have a good day for the both of us or I may just develope telechinetic powers and blow up Tokyo. Sorry, a little no sleep humore. Have a good one.
from nebulous615 :
The handoff will be at midnight a fortnight from tomorrow. Please place all unmarked bills into a gunny sack at behind the giant oak tree. You know the one. You'll find a silver briefcase hidden behind the giant boulder. In that will be the "blueprint."
from nebulous615 :
We have Tyme Machines times ten. Time <i>is</i> money, after all...
from tapestrygirl :
we drove past the grand canal. thats about it. sorry :( next time i'll go there instead. the sports place was kinda small. but eh. whatever. as long as i can get a hamburger and a beer, who cares how big it is?
from tapestrygirl :
went to sports grille boston last nite. it was okie. i was a really big dummy and missed my train back home by 2 minutes. which sent me back to the bar for another hour. silly silly me. im definitely going to have to try some of the other bars around there though. they looked fun.
from nebulous615 :
You have knock knock jokes...but do you have a turqoise-capped ambler who intones "May peeeeeace be onnnnnn the earrrrrth" over and over and over every every every day? Or do you have an orange jumpsuit-clad piccolo player? He wears a bike helmet while sitting on the step, playing songs with a technical accuracy that I only wish I could achieve. But knock-knock jokes...that's funny. I'll keep my ears open.
from tapestrygirl :
alright. you dont know who jackie gleason is. ill forgive you. :) he played Ralph on "the honeymooners" in the mid-fifties. but maybe you can answer me this, im traveling into boston tomorrow....you live on canal street right? is the Sports Grill Boston any fun? thanks.
from lemon-sister :
Great diary, I'll keep reading.
from nebulous615 :
Stout is a couple of hours away, but I've heard that they come to "my" city to party. I've been to the northern part of the state only a couple times. Madeline Island (of the Apostle Islands) was a week long 8th grade class trip several years ago. And yes, it is beautiful.
from blueschick :
hi! I just wanted to say that your thoughts are amazing, and so relieving. It's so nice to know that someone else out there thinks and feels at the same time. I cannot tell you how inspiring your entries are - and funny too. And no this is not flattery, because I don't even know you! lol Anyway. Peace.
from shalyndo :
The reply is much appreciated. My friend has decided to trade in her friends and family for drugs and the streets. Wish she had made a better decision, but I can only control the things I do. I miss her and worry about her. Thank you for asking.
from pillow-wept :
J..i miss you. you should either come back to visit me out here..or i swear im coming to boston! youre gonna take me to the little places that you pass on your way to work..or i'll treat you to some muchacos :) ... x
from shalyndo :
I hope your Valentines day proves to be very wonderful.
from tapestrygirl :
yeah. i spent about a week in mainland china. most of it in shenzen. im sure that guy didnt have my "flair" for shopping though. you'll be okie. :)
from tapestrygirl :
that program sounds pretty decent, but id make sure you talk to the person in charge before you fill out the application. i can tell you that i spent some time in hong kong/china, and it seems like what theyre going to pay you, might not be enough money. unless you are REALLY frugal. email me if you've got any questions. [email protected]
from tapestrygirl :
you write lovely words. and the going to china thing.....do it. you wont regret it. trust me on that.
from nebulous615 :
From one midwesterner to another...or something...your entries are captivating. What is it that gives you those special glimpses into the day to day?
from amalthea23 :
pretty nice place you have here, i'll be back....
from necoka :
Wow....just...well, wow.
from classclady :
Joshua, I read all of them, start to finish. If I had one that struck me, or one that made me pause, it had to be 'empty love'. I must have reread that entry at least five times. To see a pain you have held in your own self, reflected in someone else's thoughts can make you see something in yourself that you might have overlooked. It made me realize that I am not alone in my broken hearted ideals.
from shalyndo :
I feel pretty belittled to try and compliment your writing after seeing all the praise you recieve on what must be a daily basis. Thank you for the note. I dearly appreciate the fact that you took time out to read it. by the way "the stars cry aloud" is now my fav entry from you. apparently you have lots of fans, so keep it up -Shalyn
from classclady :
What do you say in a note to someone's soul that you've just read into, and placed meaning within your own from the words that they've written? You touched me. Your words touched me. Your soul touched me. That is all I wished to share.
from magpiejanie :
Your style is amazing; your words move me. Just thought I'd let ya know, although it might not mean as much since you don't know me. Even so, praise, for all the right reasons, is beneficial.
from mydyingbeta :
the bends is my fave album as well! rock on!
from pillow-wept :
josh. i love you. i think youre so great. i just had to say it. x
from greentealeaf :
when the rain falls here, all the trees weep along. so who is your rain queen/goddess?
from shalyndo :
Alright Mister........you cant tell me to write if you arent going to. Whered ya go? If you dont start writing soon, I will find out where you live and when you are asleep, I will come in and poke you in the eye. Alright I wont, but I hope you write soon p.s. thanx fer the note
from scanzilla :
Wow, strong entry. I too feel bad for girls like her. She is somebody's sister, daughter, maybe even mother. This world is a fucked up place for sure. At least you can see that, and don't play a role in it. Take care.
from pillow-wept :
oh Josh, youre so sweet. :) ok, yes i'll hold you. china DOES sound cool. super cool. a friend of mine went a few months ago, and i saw photos and it looks amazing!!! rargh! x
from pillow-wept :
im coming to china w/ you J. :) or maybe i should go to Boston first, heh? x
from shalyndo :
"Blown away by the wind of a thousand blinking eyes" That is beautiful
from shalyndo :
I hop your mind gets inspired sometime soon, cuz It helps me deal with my day, so uh....yeah, your cool and stuff
from pillow-wept :
josh youre sooooooooo cool x
from pillow-wept :
j(guess who....) shhhh. death to sage. x
from greentealeaf :
mmm. yes. winter trees tend to have that effect on people like us. :)
from shalyndo :
I am doing very well, thank you. I live in Cypress, its a medium sized area, but usually UN-heard of. Its right outside of Houston. Thank you for writing back to me. With those kinds of things I always feel like I am intruding upon, an already happy with the way things are, group of people. The warm reply is greatly appreciated. I hope you are having a very fine day, and look forward to reading your entry.
from greentealeaf :
haha, well that's probably because i wrote the lyrics to a 'the weakerthans' song, Sounds Famailiar in the entry. thanks anyhow for reading. have a good one. :)
from shalyndo :
I dont leave notes for people, but I feel serene when reading your diary. Even though you dont do it for anyone but yourself, Thank you for writing. I apologize if my note is not appreciated. I will probably never do it again
from starsforarms :
J. thanks SO much for calling me today to wish me a happy birthday!!!!! you made my day! :)x
from starsforarms :
i love the outlook you have on people and your surroundings. its sort of the same as me..i love knowing small facts about people that no one else knows. people are more than strangers at a drive thru window. x
from greentealeaf :
wow i think i need some Boston in my life ... ;)
from greentealeaf :
white christmas .... wow been a while since i had that. i'm sure it must've been really something for you. warm wishes for the year 2003. we're all going to be happier next year. x-cross fingers-x
from starsforarms :
josh---hey. merry christmas! :) by the way, judging from the photography i saw in dallas that you had taken, im certain the current stuff youre working on is gorgeous. i want some of it. :) xx
from starsforarms :
hmmm...deep thought J. :) x
from greentealeaf :
Whups, the Sweater Song = Undone. You probably guessed that already though.
from greentealeaf :
Hi Joshua .. (dig your name, btw) merry Christmas. Hope it isn't a Long December for you this year. My fav songs by Weezer, by the way, are actually "Jamie" and "The Sweater Song". Don't ask me why 'cause it's a long story. :)
from starsforarms :
you wouldnt believe it here (well, actually, im sure you would) but its like 70 degrees. every day for the past two weeks or so its been sunny and warm. i mean, gorgeous weather ... but it makes it seem a lot less like christmas and a lot more like spring. boston sounds so lovely, by the way... one day...i'll visit! x
from starsforarms :
Mmmm... i had taco bueno for lunch yesterday (HAH!) *points & laughs* ... the movie is excellent indeed. it was a really innocent attraction indeed. poignant as well. that whole damn movie! im buying it eventually. dont know why i havent yet. hey, i send you some muchacos and you send me some snow! k? k. x
from starsforarms :
Josh...beautiful girls is one of my favorite moves as well...i LOVE that movie. ive seen it probably twenty times and i STILL watch it as if ive never seen it before. beautiful!!! x
from greentealeaf :
what's your favourite weezer song?
from starsforarms :
J. i mailed you two days ago after i saw that you started this thing, and i was absolutely blown away. i know when you were here, you wrote the stories and i was the evil-doer witch and all...but wow. youre brilliant. its good and refreshing to read your thoughts/words. they sort of hang honestly, and its a beautiful thing. so write me back already. im so very impressed. your fan..your true true fan- t. x
from greentealeaf :
