You aren't alone on that, Fifi. Anyway, it sounds like the FBer lives by the altered Golden Rule.. Do unto others before they do unto you.
from fifidellabon :
I agree. And I am not even certain that I am a pacifist. After all, I do adore a nice debate! (With my people, debate can lead to bloodshed!) Yes, here are the very people that objected violently to Middle Eastern countries, citizens thereof, dancing in the streets when the Towers fell. But now they do the same when Bin Laden is killed. I'd have thought that a solemn dignity would have been better fitting for this country. In many ways, I do not fit in here well. XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
I'm betting that you get it! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Oh, exactly what Stepfie wrote! Didja?! How did it go?!! XOFifi
from stepfordtart :
Didya geddit? Didya? Huh? Huh? Didya? Fingers crossed for you. s x
from fifidellabon :
AH but isn't it brill, the sun, the warmth, the greenness...XOFifi
from stepfordtart :
I think we might have had your sun, probably by mistake as we dont generally have it at all here apart from maybe a day and a half mid-July. Its been bloody lovely here for WEEKS...apart from today when it was starting to be a bit coldish and I had to keep my jacket on, even tho it didnt really go with my blouse. Hope your sun lasts until you get a chance to enjoy it! s x
from stepfordtart :
You dont? Oh! She's my style icon! I know, I know. I am tragic. : ) s x
from fifidellabon :
Oh, that was boneheaded of me! Well, I do adore wearing girly clothes. I am wearing this minute a sleeveless floral dress that I got at the Vermont Country Store and everyone was full of compliments. So I say go with the girly. After all, we ARE girls! Also, sorry abut the less noting, but I have been soooo swamped and exhausted that it is all that I can do sometimes to simply read. However, in a week or two, things might slow. You are always Sassy Number One in FifiLand! XOFifi
from kabukicharms :
Fine fine, A-line skirt then. But only in the company of mary janes.
from fifidellabon :
Uuuhhhh...well, I've just posted two days in a row, at last, so...here? XOFifi
from kabukicharms :
Huzzah for being girly. I think all women need to find their inner glam. Of course I think it should always be expressed in pencil skirts and frilly blouses. Mm as far as a person wearing a brown bear, man I want to meet them and shake their hand. But only if they're wearing it like in that old story where a guy makes a deal with the devil.
from kabukicharms :
I totally saw that too! I was like man, if they can make yarn out of plastic bottles why not cut out the damn sheep and make yarn out of other things, like trees, and the endangered brown bear!
from portlypete :
Conductors are like swans..... How gracefully those birds move, you don't see the frantic movements below the serene surface of the pond. It's just possible that you didn't see the hours of rehearsal that went into the final performance. Careful planning makes for a seamless, effortless end result.
from stepfordtart :
Ha! Well, they can definitely F*** off, then! s x
from stepfordtart :
that explains it, then. Ive got some truly vile relatives (and some nice ones too) and once I started saying "No. Im not going. They dont want me there and I dont want to be there" I found we all got along much better! I still have a few who get pissy when they dont get invited to something, but they never say anything to my face. I always send a message back along the lines of "you dont like me anyway, why do you want to come?" It seems there's no answer to that! s x
from stepfordtart :
two questions on my mind: why did they invite you if they dislike you so much? Surely that makes them the worst kind of hypocrits. And secondly, why did you go? Did you feel obliged, or did you have a whisker of 'maybe they'll be different this time' hope? Grrrrrr. I cant believe the bride didnt even stop by for a chat - thats astonishing! Its kind of part of one's bride-ish duties to do the whole kissy-face thing with the people SHE mustve invited, surely? *feels bad for you* s x
from stepfordtart :
Im with cocoabean on this one. Surely "they have to do it, sweetie, to make sure everyone is safe" wouldve done the trick, wouldnt it? Both my kids have been searched at airports, its no biggie. Treacle gets searched most (after me!), we have a kind of Family 'who looks most like a terrorist today?' Challenge whenever we fly! s x
from cocoabean :
And you have stuff on ebay????
from cocoabean :
Just another person with the "rules are for everyone but me" mindset... you fly on a plane, you get searched. Deal with it.
from stepfordtart :
Bloody hell! When my kids were small and we were out dining, I'd always have the first swig of what they were drinking cos restaurants tend to mix their cordial/lemonade/whatever kind of strong and I nearly always had to water it down so the babies would drink it. How TF did she not notice? Mind you, maybe she's one of those who gives her baby a coupla spoonfuls of Calpol every day, just to take the edge off! (Yup. I know someone who did that. For about a year.) s x
from stepfordtart :
Hmm. I dont understand that entry and Im guessing its some kind of 'continental divide/your news not the same as our news' kind of thing. Whatevs. The message seems to be dont get babies drunk and that can only be a good thing, huh? I'll deffo bear it in mind. : ) s x
from stepfordtart :
Thanks for your note, and glad you're feeling better today. In the interests of solidarity I, too, know exactly what its like to be permanently freaked out by how much money I dont have, when relating it to how much money I actually need to keep the wolf not so much 'from the door' but more 'from moving in to the spare room and eating all the chocolate biscuits'. s x
from stepfordtart :
Yeh! What fifi said! s x
from fifidellabon :
No! You are NOT a blob, nor a nothing. Just plough through the crap times and the good times will roll again. It's like a law...XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Oooh! What is your ebay name? I'll go check out your stuff! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
You are THEE funniest! You SPARKLE!!!!! XOFifi
from stepfordtart :
fingers firmly crossed for you and your venture! s x
from fifidellabon :
Sweet! XOFifi Pee Ess Dr. Pepper is my boyfriend!
from comebacktome :
*agreed* being mortal does suck! I want a teleportation device so I can go home to Oz when I want for cuddles
from stepfordtart :
Maybe, after time, you might get back together? But just on a social basis, not just you two alone - maybe as part of a mixer? Its sad when relationships break down but I hope you find new friends to put the fizz back in your life. If you and the good Doctor want to try again, maybe start here: http://www.drinkproject.com/mixed-drinks-ingredients/Dr.-Pepper-soda/7 s x
from corposant :
No danger here--we had tsunami warnings on TV, but our house is 'bout 6 miles inland as the crow flies, and that distance is all uphill. No worries about big waves, but the nuclear power plant 45 miles north of us is looking like a bad idea.
from fifidellabon :
Mmmmm...beeeer! I agree! XOFifi
from kabukicharms :
I worked at B&BW a while back. I remember selling that stuff, not my favorite but also not the worst. Some of the seasonal stuff takes the cake. And long sleeves are the trick in that weather, they keep you from burning and create a cool layer of air between your skin and the cloth.
from stepfordtart :
Is it very expensive ( I dont think we get it here)? Could you hang onto the unopened one until the next time someone asks you for a raffle prize? Otherwise, jst ask around your friends and see if someone likes it - i did that with a bottle of Gwen Stefani perfume. It smelled like burnt plastic on me but my friend Wendy LOVES it. The freak. s x
from kabukicharms :
True, but when its over a hundred and your dieing of heat exhaustion I'll still be in jeans and a long sleeve shirt.
from corposant :
Gets a bit boring though.
from corposant :
I hate to tell all you people living in cold climate winters, but this time of year, we just sit on our front stoop here in California and gloat.
from kabukicharms :
Ha I'm from Texas weather in the sixties is cold for us. At anything below fifty the city shuts down. Of course we're back to ninety degree weather in the day.
from stepfordtart :
I dont have facebook. I found out my sister got a new job (after being out of work for about 6 months and me counselling her every couple of days while she went through a complete 'everyone hates me' meltdown) 3rd hand via a friend of my husbands who read it on her wall. WTF?! Funnily enough I havent called her up to congratulate her - I thought Id wait til she mentions it and then say "what job?". Meh. s x
from fifidellabon :
I agree! Keep that face-to-face action happening! I don't even have a Facebook. If you can't be bothered to see me face to face, I can't be bothered to include you in my universe. Excepting, of course, those whom I have not yet met in real life! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Huh huh huh...well, I haven't seen any hootchie clothes (I looove that expression!) yet, but I have been seeing knee shorts. It is deffo getting warmer! XOFifi
from stepfordtart :
hahaha! Thanks for that - I can feel many and varied uses for those cards coming on! s x
from fifidellabon :
Pee Ess Men are awesome! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
I've said it before and I'll say it again, you would totally be my BFF! You would totally roll with the ponies here! Secretly I feel that you and Swimmmy would get on like fire and kindling! But when are you going to move house over to here?! (No, silly,I don't really expect you to move your awesomeness here!) XOFifi Pee Ess, Is seltzer allowed, because it can replace minerals/sodas/colas/whatever you call them. XO!
from fifidellabon :
Dude, would that you lived here, you would totally be my BFF!!! And we would totally get drunk and take the piss out of everyone...oh cats, that would be "make fun of everyone" and it would be brill. Also, don't be frightened but it sounds that you are more mature than the friends that came in after. But the house-renovator, he sounds a good friend. Duuude! Have a brilliant week! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Oh, that is horrible! I hope that you heal quickly! XOFifi
from cocoabean :
Owwww! Glad you are in one piece!
from fifidellabon :
I have seen those hats! Fine, if you are eight yeas old. Otherwise? Eh. XOFifi
from swimmmer72 :
Your key sent via dland. I might have to change it, but for now, let me know if you have trouble with it. :)
from stepfordtart :
Yep. What they said: phone up, fess up, grovel. Good luck! s x
from fifidellabon :
Just call him. Tell him what you've told us. It will all be fine. XOFifi Pee Ess You are totally NOT an idiot!
from swimmmer72 :
Just explain the situation. You were trying to do the right thing and you ended up getting caught between a rock and a hard place. He'll appreciate your honesty and (hopefully) won't hold it against you. Good luck!
from fifidellabon :
I think that one can have both. Sensible finances the fun. Don't forget about the fun, though! XOFifi
from cocoabean :
Yay! How exciting!
from fifidellabon :
Hah! Good luck! Well, Spring is actually on the way. We are having quite a heat wave here...32 degrees F! It was a total ice storm yesterday, though.XOFifi
from julymalaise :
hahha, you're not cockooo, it's true. She's so obnoxious and like you said, fake. And she makes all of these weird lingos like "EVOO" to describe Extra Virgin Olive Oil!!! Like, she's a weirdo
from fifidellabon :
Oh go! Of course you will have a good time. And this is something tha you don't want to regret missing. Brilliant drawing! XOFifi
from swimmmer72 :
Very nice drawing!! Of course you should go, just to get yourself in the spirit of it being what you do when your artwork is on display. And, for the free food, in case they have any... :)
from julymalaise :
If you have seen her other old show "$40 a Day.", she is less annoying and not obnoxious like today..
from fifidellabon :
Hmm...I always thought that RR seemed to be mildly, but perpetually freaked out by fairly well everything...XOFifi Pee Ess, Are you all right as regards Monster Midwest Storm of the Century?
from swimmmer72 :
No snow here yet. We got about 4 inches last night, but nothing until about an hour ago and that's freezing rain, which I actually dislike more than snow. It's going to go back and forth over the next 24 hours and nobody seems sure what we're going to get. They predicted 3-8 inches of snow, but right now, we seem to be south of the snow. Either way, just plain messy and I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere until Thursday morning. I hope you get through it alright!
from cocoabean :
You are right... my kids hated being in the house because all they could do was clean.. we lived one house away from an elementary school and they were both always there!
from fifidellabon :
OH m'gosh, you've said it all perfectly! Forch, here in City, we do see more kids outside than most. Also we walk to the school play yard, or bike down the canal to the other play park, and we see tonnes of kids there. Also, serious walk-to-schoolage. Ned and I deffo picked City because of the "walking culture". It was either here or Princeton, and...well...here is much more like home to me! XOFifi
from misspinkkate :
Hey, it's like what I say about the placebo effect- whether I am perfect or am just convinced I'm perfect, either way, feels good to me :D
from fifidellabon :
It is quite disturbing is it not? Still, I can't help but to think that things will change for the better, and I want to either be a part of it or at least see it happen. (Huh huh huh, who is the insane one NOW?!) XOFifi
from julymalaise :
Yeah, ahah, I got sore playing Wii too and I think it is so funny that I got so sore with technology... ahhaha
from swimmmer72 :
If you need help with that (putting pictures on dland), let me know. I've got it down to a science at this point! :)
from fifidellabon :
Don't be scared! That is awesome that you can paint! XOFifi
from swimmmer72 :
Any chance you could post pictures of your artwork?
from fifidellabon :
Once again, we are totally on the same page! XOFifi
from swimmmer72 :
Winter is actually going well! Look at it this way - already the tail end of January! We might be done with the worst of it in less than a month! It's actually going too fast - winter is the time of year I get much of my work completed and I'm not even close this year and concert season for me looks like it is starting in about a month with 3 big shows end of Feb/early March. How about you?
from fifidellabon :
I agree, totally. Can you imagine when the high point of your existence is that you can stand up now? No one deserves that, not even...those we don't speak of! XOFifi
from misspinkkate :
You're a dear. Here's hoping it doesn't get that bad! I took some Mucinex today, hopefully that'll clear everything out. That stuff is my crack cocaine, I looooove it.
from dinahsoar :
Texans are great! I know one from Mesquite. He uses all these great expressions, like "It's not far ... just a fur piece down the road".
from kabukicharms :
Where bouts from Texas? We're a big state so our accents really range.
from fifidellabon :
And not only that, JB looks like a wee lassie. Still, I supposed that would be simply perfect for all of the wee lassies who luuurrrve him! XOFifi
from julymalaise :
Thanks for encouraging words. Well, I didn't take the finals today because I got off from school because of snow, so that gave me more time to study and now I feel a little confident about the tests now. And ew, I saw that preview for JB too!! Gross!! I know a lot of teenyboppers who are going to see that movie...
from kabukicharms :
Ah that totally reminds me of this awesome theater we had downtown. It was all crystal and marble mosaic. It had the most gorgeous wooden staircases leading to the upper house. It was called the Majestic. They gutted it and the building next door to build the majestic mini mall.
from fifidellabon :
Oh, but Sylvester the Cat is sparkly awesome! Just as you are! Good to hear that you are back to your fine self! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Oh my gosh, that is HUGE!!!! It must be a really extreme adjutment. (I had to look it up to see what it is) But lots of people have them, so it will be all right. You seem awfy young to have such tooth troubles, but then again, teeth have no cares about age! Feel better soon. XOFIfi
from fifidellabon :
Sassers, what exactly did you have done? I am glad to see that you are your sassy self! XOFifi Pee Ess it was difficult to let that "foreign entity in my mouth" line alone...
from comebacktome :
Felt the same way when I had to start wearing glasses full time. It passes, promises. Now I refuse to wear contacts all the time as a) they are a pain in the ass and b) I wouldn't look like me! It is a GOOD THING you are not in pain any more, that was your body saying 'Get a move on Sassy, this shit is not cool.' And you did, so hurrah! Soon you will feel more like you, you just need to adjust...IMHO anyway xo
from fifidellabon :
Hmmm...surgery? Dental? I just had a crown put in. The temporary one I named Jessica Simpson because it was not only temporary, but also big, white, and slightly out-of-place...just like Jessica Simpson. The permanent one I named Trudy, because it is the true one. But it feels too smooth and weird. I expect that it will feel the norm quite soon. SO---I expect that you will fell quite the norm soon. XOFifi Pee Ess Smoochies! Feel better!
from fifidellabon :
You nevah lost your mojo, Missy! You are simply getting even better. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. Wonderful to hear of all of the good news! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Awwww, thank you, Sassers! I am deffo less shallow than I was, that much I do know! Happy Christmas to you! You rock! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Oh, but I do love sending Christmas cards! I have a few yet to post, but whatevs, so, if they are late, they will still arrive. XOFifi
from cocoabean :
It's really hard when you confront someone you think is lying, and they insist they are not. Then you find out the truth, and realize they were lying the entire time, even when they insisted they weren't. So.. lying about not lying? Not good.
from fifidellabon :
Well, you've already stayed past 2:30...tooth-hurty! Haw haw haw!!! Hope it gets better soon! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
You are a kick ass everything! I know, I've been insanely busy, and yet deffo taking time to relax as well. Can the two mix? Only one way to find out! How's your snow sitch? XOFifi
from jarofporter :
sad thing is, if i were able to be outgoing/upfront enough to "steal her away", i would have done so before now, and it wouldn't be an issue.
from stepfordtart :
Awww. What a shame you "really don't want to learn ANOTHER word for a woman's private area", cos I was gonna say 'Fuji'. Never heard it in a rap song, mind you, but my kids say it (and so do I!). s x PS Oh, and 'Bajinga'.
from fifidellabon :
Oooh, if I didn't like you, I'd deffo be jealous of your snow! We had rain simply bucketing down today. I do like the cold, though, and I love all of the seasons for their own joys. XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
And yet I've said only just today "Thank God it's Monday!!" XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Oooh, I know how THAT feels! I had to take half of the day because I simply couldn't stay a minute longer. I'll be in tomorrow, though! XOFifi
from dinahsoar :
You really earn your name, Sassy-girl! I like your diary. It's candid and in-your-face-real! Thanks for reading my diary and, sure, keep reading! I'm adding you to my illustrious "buddies" today! Thanks again!
from cocoabean :
Good entry! Just one note about cows from a farm child, the cows probably loved eating those apples...
from omfggwtf :
i liked your entry about animal cruelty and whatnot.. makes me sad aswell, it's so horrible ): bloody people.
from stepfordtart :
Jooj saw it yesterday and was completely fan-girled out when she came home. Hope you enjoyed it. s x PS Dont like to be pedantic but I hope you spoke in an English accent and not a British one....as there's no such thing. 'Twould have to be a mix of English, Northern Irish, Scottish and Welsh...and that would not be pretty AT ALL! s x
from comebacktome :
Oh dude, you have no idea! Every half an hour on the radio and front page on every paper, with entire papers having a special 'engagement issue'. Enough to make me lose my breakfast on the train this morning. Ugh! The worst bit is that awful photo of her half naked from that fashion parade when she was like 16...it actually makes me feel sorry for her...
from fifidellabon :
Huh huh huh...I feel the same! Just get married and be done with it. But then, you know it will be Countdown Until Baby, and also "Let's Tear Them Apart" will be played out by the tabs, weekly, no doubt. Eh. XOFifi
from annanotbob :
Don't get me started - fucking royals - who gives a shit? Mind you, it makes a nice big distraction in the media while the new gov dismantles all the public services people fought for throughout c20th
from swimmmer72 :
re: airline security. I grew up flying as Dad worked for American Airlines. I loved it. That was then and this is now, and flying is a real pain. I don't like it much and only fly when I have to, but it has nothing to do with security. I agree with all your points and if people don't care about feeling safe, I'm not sure I want them on the same plane I'm on. I bet if they were able to ask any of those plane passengers on 9/11 if they would subject themselves to a little extra screening today, there would only be those 19 terrorists that would have a problem with it. Privacy issues, sure, but it is nice to survive the flight. Drive your car if it is that big of a problem.
from cocoabean :
My thought is, if you fly, you comply. It's just part of the cost. He could have something taped to his "junk" and I think they were within safety standards to not allow him on the plane. He was being a jerk.
from dr-rndmprsn :
And what if one of the people getting patted down had previously been sexually abused and this "pat" down triggers a violent panic attack mid-flight from a 250 pound man and he feels trapped and the only way to escape is to start knocking people out, particularly people who look vaguely like their abuser, who's description matches yours exactly? How safe does that make you feel?
from cocoabean :
It could have started from someone who threw a cig butt out their car window.... but yeah, fires suck.
from fifidellabon :
Well, I think that you are totally brill! You have thee sharpest mind, and your wit is a treasure! As for appearance? I had a reader fuh-REAK out after I posted pictures (in the All About Me entry) and I didn't even think that I looked too awful. SO, really, anyone who makes judgments based on appearance is not getting the entire picture. I often think that we'd have quite a different popularity profile if we were all simply brains in jars. XOFifi Pee Ess WHO said that you had to be an "adult"? Did they even bother to define what "adult" means?! XO!
from cocoabean :
Black market burgers? Will the police have breathalyzer to tell how long it's been since we had a burger? What's next??!! Dang!
from cocoabean :
If they want to control what we eat, then how about outlawing cigarettes and alcohol? Oh right... they tried the alcohol thing and it didn't work.
from swimmmer72 :
re: living the life you want. I agree completely, which explains why I'm a happy camper. Even though I rarely camp, but you know what I mean...
from fifidellabon :
On your "to the melancholy" entry, I do so agree, we are the ones who are driving our own boat. I have a former friend who used to say "Don't give them the power over you!" which is a good take-away from the whole sitch! Sassers, y'know, I hung in there and I found Ned, or rahther, he found me, but it all adds up to the same good. XOFifi Pee Ess You totally ROCK!!!!
from cocoabean :
I agree, people choose their own lives. Those who are intentionally mean to others are just plain mean. No matter how hard they try to pretend they are kind and loving, deep down they are just mean.
from svenhard :
palin's got the whole 'clueless tragic hick milf' thing going on, the best part of her 2012 presidential win would be the global facepalm and collective sniggering, with the presidents of smaller countries daring to go up and talk to her and see if she knows, well, anything at all
from fifidellabon :
Is everything all right? I do agree about the cheating. Ned and I both agree that cheating is not an option. However, not everyone agrees with what cheating is. For example, Ned sometimes gets "crushes" on women. Usually, he is discreet about it, but I can usually tell anyway. If it seems as if boundaries are being pushed, I ask him about it. Because of our commitment to each other and to Biba, we are honest with each other, even if the honesty hurts. Forch, nothing usually comes of it. Recently, though, we hit a hard bump. It's been hard, and I've leaned on friends perhaps too much, and I may have been misinterpreted. And that sucks. But does that constitute cheating on either of our part? Some may say that indeed it does. I myself am a mad flirt, and I flirt with everyone, men, women, cats, dogs, etc. It is lighthearted. Ned does understand, but I make certain to talk with him, and make him aware, because I don't want anything to look untoward, or to be false between us. For example, I just called up in the space of...actually I don't know, a short space, a friend dude. But I made certain to let Ned know when and why, and what to look for in the phone bill. Because I don't want him to worry. But to some, telephoning or mailing IS cheating. I think that when things are hidden, that is dangerous ground. People do tend to misunderstand each other, etc. (I do it all of the time, but I'm able to stop to say "What's going on here, have we got things wrong") Oh, Sassers, I do hope that no one has hurt you. As I see my friends go through more and more things, I have learned to understand that there is usually far more going on, different things than I interpret, than I can ever know. I try to withold judgement these days...I know that this is a novel, but actually, your entry is helping me to make some things more clear to myself...and to be glad that Ned and I are clear on our commitment to each other, even when it isn't all nuts and fluffybunnies. I'm just glad that I don't want anyone but Ned, even when it's harder going. Thank you for the therapy, and as usual, you ROCK!!! XOFifi
from cocoabean :
The same holds true for friendships.. if you don't want to continue, tell the other person, don't axe them behind their back! They usually find out, and it's worse that way...
from comebacktome :
Word. I also love the cheaters that lie to their partners because they 'don't want to hurt them'. Umm champ, maybe keeping your bits to yourself would have been a good start!
from stepfordtart :
I saw somebody last night FORCE a crying baby to 'stand' (by hanging onto its arms and kind of dangling it) so it could 'win' a fancy dress prize. Really? Your kid's THAT desperate for a cuddly toy that you're prepared to wake it up and parade it like that? *shakes head* s x PS I won a prize, too. It was a bottle of whisky. I wasnt crying.
from swimmmer72 :
My first year in an apartment complex was like that. After years of NO trick/treaters, I got swarmed upon and gave out chips ahoy while they lasted then switched to apples. Now, I work second shift and never have to deal with it. I'm going to a concert in another state this year. 932 pieces of candy? That's NUTS!!
from cocoabean :
I used to just throw a bunch of pennies in bags when the candy ran out...
from fifidellabon :
But it sounds as if it was a bit of fun...XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Well, that's what she said! Yes, the Fertile Crescent is the area where the bird feeders are. All of that birdie-doo makes a brilliant fertiliser! XOFifi
from swimmmer72 :
Me and Bee? Well, we are a good fit, as long as I'm in her front. When I try to get in back, well, she's being a bit difficult. I guess I can only blame myself - I always say I like small rear ends and now that's exactly what I've gotten. Be careful what you wish for - definitely true here. I try to talk to her about it, but so far, she's giving me the silent treatment.... :)
from swimmmer72 :
re: weekends. I can relate to that! I'm on vacation and COULD be going out at night, but I'm content to stay home and relax. Summer is when I really "burn the candle" at both ends and this time of year, I'm fine being a homebody most of the time.
from fifidellabon :
You seriously crack me up!!! With all of that super-duper awesomeness, how could you be left OUT of FifiLand?!! Smoochies! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
You ARE super-duper awesome! I simply adore reading you! XOFifi
from swimmmer72 :
re: political commercials. You are 100% right. All this undocumented $$ is letting political groups say whatever the hell they want with almost no regard for the truth of the matter. I'm appalled at what one little rule change has brought us, all for the sake of "free speech". Especially since, with this new found freedom, they have all decided to go negative. Why say what you have actually done to get elected when you can make up a bunch of stuff about your opponent instead? It wouldn't be so bad except, yeah, idiots can vote as long as they aren't felons.

re: sucky sports teams. As a Buffalo Bills fan, I feel your pain. In fact, if not for the Bills, the Browns would have even seemed worse over the last three years. What boggles me is that Cleveland also has a baseball team that (almost) made it to the Series and hasn't been out of the basement ever since, and then there is the Lebron thing. Buffalo (my home town) has had it bad but Cleveland has had it worse. How much can a fan take?
from fifidellabon :
I know exactly what you mean! Why must everything be slutty? I mean to say, slutty has a place and time, but that place and time is not everywhere, all the time. I've always found that shoes are a good basis for a costume. I like to get shoes that I can wear in real life as well, although I really have no common sense when it comes to fashion---think sailor shoes, bee shoes, etc. Crafting a costume yourself can be quite fun ad rewarding, depending on how much effort you are wiling to put in. You might google something like "wholesome halloween costumes" for ideas..) Or just dress in white, with yellow wellies, stick on an orange touque, and go as a cigarette! XOFifi Pee Ess I am likely to buy witch shoes this year...
from cocoabean :
There's a place here that offers a 12 egg (whites only) omelet, with potatoes, toast and juice for free if you can eat the whole thing in an hour... Sounds easy, but I'm sure many have tried and not done it..
from stepfordtart :
Think of it as a poem - that will help with the 'flow'. It will also help if you can hear a melody in your head but I'd say let the singer help squish it into shape - she should be able to suggest ways to make it fit her voice. L (because he is a professional musician of 30 years standing) writes the music first and the lyric afterwards but Ive never been able to do it that way - I write the lyric first and then he helps me get the melody right. Good luck (and Yay for Meg!) s x
from omfggwtf :
hahaha well that's good to hear! i'm glad it was better than romy and michelle's experience ;) xo.
from stepfordtart :
Even gorgeous, semi-famous thingybobs stink the lavatory out when they have a poo. (She does. I went in after her.) Does she make people living 3,000 miles away snort tea outta their noses? No? Well, you do so you must be TOTALLY better than her. s x
from omfggwtf :
your entry reminded me of that film romy and michelle's high school reunion ahaha. where they try to look impressive to the "successful" people they went to school with but none of them were even happy.. SO DON'T DO IT! x
from stepfordtart :
Treacle would come and watch it (if she could maybe have a guest role). She is only 10 but she can pretty much recite all three films, too. We have the DVD box set. Ditto Waynes World and Bill & Ted. s x
from swimmmer72 :
I'm on the west side of Erie, right near the entrance to Presque Isle. Pymatuning is maybe 40 miles to the south. I've been there several times, but not on a regular basis. The carp get me every time! :)
from swimmmer72 :
That is Lucifer Falls in R.H.Treman State Park, just to the west of Ithaca, NY. I caught it at dusk with just enough light to illuminate the water - one of my best pics ever! A favorite spot/town if you are ever in the Finger Lakes area! Are you west of Cleveland? I'm about 90 minutes to the east. :)
from fifidellabon :
Pee Ess I am so glad that you have found Swimmmy. He is absolutely wonderful and you can confide anything at all to him. XOFifi

Sassers, I am going to totally overstep my bounds here. Because I totally adore your diary. And I am very awkward when I am in earnest. The other day you said that you were a "Fatty Mcfatterstein". That makes me anxious, and I will give you my sappy reasons, because these reasons are very valid to me. You just called a person who is a witty and wry writer, who has a sparkling outlook on life, and has a wonderful depth of feeling, and I have come to like her very much,(Yes, this is you!) you just called her a name that is meant to be hurtful by many people in society. (Don't get me started on society, BAH!) I have to tell you that I am a very strong supporter of FA (Fat Acceptance) and I don't want to sound sanctimonious, (but I will, because I am awkward, but sincere, and very probably irritating) but it is just not right to make a physical characteristic into a bad thing. What I am trying to say is that whether one is fat or not is irrelevant to me, and I think that everyone else ought to think the same way. In this case. I'm so sorry if I come off all sanctimonious, but you are such a terrific person, and I feel absolutely certain that we'd get along famously in real life. And I am learning to speak up when I believe in something, even though is scares the...stuff out of me to do so. I am so afraid of insulting people or hurting their feelings. So, there you have it, or not. I am a total Sassy McGee fan. Much love! XOFifi
from swimmmer72 :
I was alerted to a "swimmer72" in your profile. Was that supposed to be me? :)
from julymalaise :
They ARE Digusting! Like one time, I went to the bathroom, and there is this one toilet that has the grossest things that you will ever find in a women's restroom and it was so nasty! And the most revolting part of it... it's still inside the toilet, for like five days!
from fifidellabon :
Hah! You are a total riot! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Sassers, I think that this will sound Cruise-azy, but I simply adore how I can get no firm picture of you in my head. You write so strongly, and your humour is so incisive, and I SO enjoy all of your writings! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Yikes! Try to save up a wee bundle of cash, and then it will be easier to move out. I hope that things improve. XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
I can't seem to get enough bacon, and I am not usually a pork eater. But it deffo helps to make it only when you have help to eat it! XOFifi
from fifidellabon :
Well said, Sassers! I cannot imagine anyone actually burning any book. How completely inane. And what does it say about the burner? "I am stupid" for one...XOFifi
from comebacktome :
Bwahahah. Well being French wouldn't be so bad....then you could teach me how to make macaroons?? :D
from stepfordtart :
annanotbob's got one missing, too. Diaryland fell over a bit yesterday I think. I kind of like the home-made feel of it...the fact that its sometimes completely crap, not so! s x
from stepfordtart :
What kind of birds do you have there that could kill a kitty and eat it????? Are there eagles and vultures circling over your barbecue pit? We get sparrow hawks in our garden and they can take a collared dove so I guess they could take a kitty. s x
from omfggwtf :
nah it's okay. sorry about that earlier aha. i was extremely dramatic and emotional for the most petty reasons. it's not so much friends either, since i have none, really ;) aha. mostly the boyfriend thing. but it'll be alright. and i'm so looking for a job, i can't actually wait to get one, just a good routine to keep myself busy with. grrrrrrrrrrr. ohhh i'm so drunk. trying so hard to type normally. thanks for the advice on the really stupid overdramatic entry aha. xo.
from comebacktome :
Duly noted and necessary alterations made. I must confess I originally just assumed super duper chickie-poo, then thought I should probably cover my butt, as that could be bad lol
from fifidellabon :
Did you ever get your Jelly Tots? You might well be able to order them online if you don't have a real life connection who can send them. They really are quite nice! XOFifi

from comebacktome :
I had one of those yesterday when I trekked across Madrid just to have my favourite roasted tomato and goat's cheese salad. Fuck it was amazing, I ate the entire thing, even though it is meant to be shared between at least two people. Eh, I'm on holiday! I also had a whole plate of potatas bravas too. That was damn good, but not approaching the foodgasm of the salad...
from omfggwtf :
hahaha oh right i see! sorry, my mistake ;). yeah i guess it would look a bit obvious ;) tututut. x
from omfggwtf :
how do you mean? sorry, i'm very slow and whatnot. i mean obvious with the hair extensions haha.. agh the pains of trying to look decent!
from jarofporter :
Nope, not making them up at all - I'm not that creative. It's kind of weird though, isn't it!? And here's the "Romance" horoscope for today... " ******************* Why make this unnecessarily convoluted? Just because the issue looms large doesn't mean the solution has to be complicated. Hard to believe, but true. There's an easy way out for both of you if you can see it. ******************* I mean, wtf!?
from comebacktome :
Hullo, thanks for the add. I like your diary. You is funny :D You make me remember the days of uni...ahh the madness...
from stepfordtart :
Then you may never know their jellysquishy goodness! (unless of course you have a PO Box #, in which case I could send em there!). I understand completely tho - Im not keen on giving my address to strangers on the internet, either. But in my defence, Im not a nutter. Honest. s x
from omfggwtf :
haha i dunno about them being jealous! and i'm not very good at making people laugh. i'm all loud and whatever on the internet, if that's possible but really i have no confidence to talk to someone incase they sort of like.. sneer at me hahaha. GODDAMMIT. oh well!
from julymalaise :
I know, I'm pretty silly in my writing too. Whatever I think is clever and witty, I write it down and then people read it and then they said they love it! Sometimes stuff come at me at random, but writing is still one of my favorites things.
from julymalaise :
You ARE super-duper awesome. And whoever the heck this git is telling you how to write, has the wrong perpective of things. First of all, the art of what makes writing so beautiful is how people present it in many different ways. There isn't a rule book where it says "You must write like this....or else, you fail!" Besides, if that did happen, we wouldn't have that many writers in the world... The whole part of writing is to be rebellious, that is what makes writing so wonderful.
from omfggwtf :
if only i knew how to make some nice new ones haha.. everyone these days takes me as an arrogant little bitch and i think i'm better than everyone else.. when really i'm just painfully shy and don't know how to talk to people ahahah. PEOPLE! x
from omfggwtf :
oh no he don't have any of them, bless him hahaha. he's not even in a band anymore 'cos he's such a slacker. he had like two or three but they all fizzled out 'cos they're all so busy with work now. BLESS. but aw poor you :( stupid boys.
from omfggwtf :
what's wrong with them :(
from stepfordtart :
Oh, I hear you on that one, sister! s x
from stepfordtart :
Let me send you some, then! Although, not so many that you get another food baby! If you email me a postal address to stepfordtartATdiarylandDOTcom I'll stick a few bags of fruity munchy goodness in the mail for you, dear! Let continental divide not deprive you of their squishy goodness! s x
from svenhard :
we also saw the tiger/catnip video, our response was the same as yours, some things are universal
from omfggwtf :
thank you :) x
from cocoabean :

from stepfordtart :
re: below. ...That makes it sound like I think it IS ok for a woman to be doing that. In case of any ambiguity there, ITS NOT OK. Nope. Not ever. s x
from stepfordtart :
I saw a WHOLE PROGRAMME on that - its was 'My Monkey Baby'. The people on it were, without exception, completely fucking mental. Completely SCARY fucking mental. Somehow I was more disturbed by the husbands of the freaky women who do this. That is NOT a natural thing for a man to be doin' - taking a monkey out for icecream on its birthday. I cannot begin to consider how wrong that is. *shakes head* s x
from stepfordtart :
if you OVERfeed fishies, their swimbladders get all out of kilter and they float on their sides, kind of dead looking, until they dont feel so full up. This can take a couple of days (cf one of those TexMex blowouts where you can barely rise from the dining table, let alone function as a human being). Your fishies may not actually be deceased. Its true - Stephen Fry told me on TV yesterday. Flush with caution. s x
from stepfordtart :
.............Sorry, I forgot what I was going to write in my comment. OMFG, its CONTAGIOUS!! ; ) s x
from stepfordtart :
I would deffo NOT have been able to resist texting back. How about "I have some gr8 new moves to show you, coach, wait til after practice and meet me in the locker room. Lots of love". That would've done it! s x
from stepfordtart :
*waves back at Nikki*. Maybe that dumbass boy got her one of those flavours that seems like a good idea but is ultimately a bit of a let-down. You're kind of expecting it to be delicious but then its...*lick*....*slumps shoulders*...oh. When that happens I do pretty much feel like crying, cos you cant really not eat it (rude) and you cant get another one in a different flavour (makes you look like a fat pig). Yep, thats deffo the problem - she got a crappy icecream. s x
from nikkifoofoo :
Hey look! That's Stepford Tart down there! *waves* Okay, I just wanted to take a moment to point out that if the heat didn't kill them, then the UVA/UVB rays surely would. I'd imagine no one thought to slather the fishies in sunblock. Poor things catching the melanoma. Tsk. (Also, you might be wondering where I came from... D'land is dead, so I've made a new rule that I'm going to leave a note for the people who post on either side of me in hopes of making some new friends. No pressure, though. Just stopping by.)
from stepfordtart :
I have weird unexplainable aches, AND babies, AND a mortgage AND bits of me that dont bear close scrutiny any more but Im STILL not grown up. I am 43 and three-quarters. Some people are grown up at 17. They are scary and should be avoided. s x
from stepfordtart :
Here's the link to Jelly Tots: http://www.rowntrees.co.uk/range/jellytots.aspx If you dont get them there I can totally send you some, they're too delicious to not be a global phenomenon (sp?). "Wizard wheeze" is 'a good time' (or sometimes 'a good idea') as is a "jolly jape". Everything else was just a variation on "good". I recommend reading some Jeeves and Wooster (or you may be able to see it on TV - the Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie (from House) versions are simply Top Hole, m'dear!). People do actually still sometimes talk like that over here - if they are very posh (which Im not) or went to private school (which I did)! Toodlepip! s x
from omfggwtf :
thanks for adding ^_^ xo.
from stepfordtart :
If you're using "Cripes", may I also suggest liberal use of "spiffing", "top hole" and "ripping", whilst having "wizard wheezes" and "jolly japes". 30s upperclass English slang, anyone? Dont mind if I do, old chap! s x
from jarofporter :
right on, man! i've been working on bringing back some of the old 70s slang, like "dig it", "groovy", "right on", "no sweat", "far out", "outta sight", etc. i use these most every day - more power to ya!
from stepfordtart :
Those last four lines - I say those at least ten times a day, referring to the parents of the kids at the school Im working in. (I also say it about my husbands sister - her kids are MONSTROUS - but thats another story!). s x
from stepfordtart :
I do that too. Particularly with Jelly Tots. And its ALWAYS the blackcurrant (YUK!) first. Do you have jelly tots over there? Want me to send you some (for organisational purposes!)? s x
from julymalaise :
Hey, thanks for adding me!!!
from stepfordtart :
You can really buy a house for $100K??? REALLY? Jeez. I live in the wrong country. You'd be luckily to get a 1 bedroom apartment for that here. s x
from stepfordtart :
We dont have that 11.11 thing over here - Im pretty superstitious so I think I would know about it if we did. Does that explain why I dont have a pony/my own desert island/the part of Rizzo in Grease instead of Stockard bloody Channing? s x
from stepfordtart :
Yay! Im all caught up! Dont know why I didnt think to just try the DOTcom thing! Oh, hang on, yes I do. Its because I am an idiot. s x
from stepfordtart :
*weep* Im still stuck! Could you possibly try emailing me a link to your latest page? Maybe that would kick it up the arse and make it work properly. send to [email protected] if you can. thanks everso. s x
from stepfordtart :
Waaaaah!! I cant see your new entries (even when I refresh!). Diaryland is being a poop. Im stuck on the 'discovering a new illness' page. If I go to archives and click on the latest entry (I can see the titles) it still takes me back to that page. No fair. s x
from stepfordtart :
Hahaha! Perhaps I should have tried something like that with Crazy Mental Boss Lady, instead of farting about for two weeks drafting a carefully crafted resignation letter. Shame it didnt get you the day off tho - it deffo should have, for creativity alone! s x
from stepfordtart :
It was a clip of Tim Minchin singing 'Peace Anthem for Palestine' - basically its 'we dont eat pigs, you dont eat pigs, it seems it been that way forever, so if you dont eat pigs, and we dont eat pigs, why dont we not eat pigs together?'. Which obviously would leave more bacon - the cure for all ills - for you and me! s x
from stepfordtart :
Maybe this would help? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_T4Wk9M2ObE s x
from stepfordtart :
I have a gay secretary. He knows about stuff like this. I shall ask him and report back! s x

damnit!! why don't i have vh1!? i love grease 2!!

I'm retarded... in the sense that I'm slow. SLOW. Therefore, I'm sorry that I hadn't seen your note (I've been a negligent blogger)... and I wanted to say THANK YOU for adding me. :) Beyonce, by the way, scares me. Hip thrusts and squats in a skintone body suit is NOT fashion nor upwardly fashionable. ITs smutty and trashy. (And, people make fun of Brittney... ya know?) Oh, and what the heck is a Lady Ga-Ga? I saw her sing on the AMAs (not in person, I'm not THAT privileged)... uh, two words: freak show. I commented that she's this generation's Madonna. Anyway... have a good one and thanks for stopping by.

Are you absolutely SURE you didnt sound like an idiot? Im not doubnting you for a moment but I know that whenever Ive done "bubbly amusing chatter to a cute guy", as soon as he's gone any of my friends who were in earshot have gone "WTF! You TWAT! What WERE you blathering on about? You looked a total freak and he was practically RUNNING away by the time you finished". No? Just me then? *sigh* s x PS Hope he comes back tomorrow!
from stepfordtart :
Hey! Thanks for adding me! Oh, and sorry about the cheerios thing - I just couldnt hold on any longer and, well, there was a dish, and...well, you know how it is. Anyway, I promise I wont do it again. s x
from jarofporter :
hope you have better luck than i... ^_^
from jarofporter :
hi! thanks for the input! the only problem with putting an age like 900 is that i will never show up in women's search results, because nobody wants a 900 yr old guy!! i do use this concept on facespace, though! anyway, i'm happy you spoke up, and i hope you will feel free to share your thoughts with me from this point! *waves* (of course, you know, now i'm going to have to cyber-stalk your journal to see what your'e all about!!)
