"I fall in love like a thousand times a day." God, how apt. How exactly you, Dipti. I fall in love in a different way, I think, but I understand what you mean about loving people, loving People, wanting to throw your arms around humanity. Ahh.

hey dipti, im an alum stp, picked up your blog from junichis pnuthouse today. your blogs dope.
anyways. im writting cause i came to your post on sri lanka's psychological releif efforts. and, im actually in hikkadua right now (yeah, why am i on the fucken internet right?)and have been blogging my observations and efforts here. theres an entry called "hebrew to english to sinhala" thats basically a word for word report of a typical meeting of some Israeli psychologists with a local releif group thats been using drama as a source of healing for tsunami victims. (not such a successful effort) if youre interested check it out
http://robrichert.blogs.friendster.com/
its kind of annoying set up, you have to hit permalink and h\keep hitting view last entry but... that entry is back there somewhere.
cheers

You are using me for my linguistic skills. Am I just your grammar whore? And yes, "biblio" was just fine. And I need to go write my paper. But I'm so happy you're updating again! love--

"One must have committed many sins in a past life to have to live in this kind of cold in this life!" OH, is that going to give me a few laughs the rest of this godforsaken winter. Thank you so much, my dear! Also, I am seriously questioning your sanity: SCOTCH TAPE? How was a star made out of Scotch tape not visible under your dress? I'm envisioning a Janet Jackson type star here... I myself haven't done the Band-Aid trick, but only because if I go braless, people get hurt (including myself). Ow.

Hi... this is sort of weird and wacky to have come across your page. I did a Yahoo search on Laura Rothenberg and your Diaryland page showed up. I never knew Laura personally, but I heard of her soon after her death. Actually, someone from Dream Street told me about her. I spent a week, this past August, at Canyon Ranch. Isn't that whole experience amazing?!
I have cystic fibrosis. Listening to Laura's story on NPR saved my life, so to speak. It was overwhelming, wonderful and emotional to listen to her experiences, so simular to my own.
Anyhow. I don't mean to unload all this on you. I just thought maybe we could keep in touch with eachother, if you are interested. How is your health? I hope things are well. I feel like I found your page for a reason. Thanks. -Melanie. superstrong@wideopenwest.com

Excellent usage of "exhort." (9/20) 100 percent. Well done you. Personally, I always have the goal of watching less TV, but it's sort of like an alcoholic having the goal of stopping drinking... Gilmore Girls, oh yes, big fan. I'll quit after just one more night... sure I will...

Hi there -- I was hoping that you could help me reconnect with a friend from my days at Cal. I did the typical google search for Bhawana Mishra and came across a link for your site. If you could pass along my contact information to her (or send hers my way), I'd really appreciate it. (It's calhelen_2000@yahoo.com -- I lived in the dorms with her freshman year and we both majored in chem.) Sorry to clutter your message box!

You made the most excellent typo recently -- spelling "result" as "reslut." Now, how much more fun is the latter word?? SO much more fun. I am going to try to include that in my communications from here on out. Let's see. Like, "I cleaned up my act when I went to meet my in-laws, but as soon as we drove away from their house, I knew it was safe to reslut."

Hi Dipti,
Other day, while searching for someone, I bumped into your diary. read a few chapters and felt that owner of the diary must be a smart, sensitive and interesting human being.
Later to find that you have your roots in India and that too in Baroda prompted me to leave a note for you.
You sound like a good writer and a poet (and must be a good fearless speaker as well). If ever you feel like changing your career path, away from medico, give US politics a chance !!
I also belong to Baroda. Difference being, I still stay there and you stay in US.
Nice to have met you here.

Dipti --
I stumbled across your tribute to Marla Bennett, and I can only say I'm deeply touched and saddened at the same time. Really, I'm at a loss for words, and that doesn't happen all too much.
I'm very proud that I could provide you and Marla with some happiness every week -- really, that was the point of it all. And I'm saddened because a great person has died and I (and so many others) have lost out by not knowing her. Too late now.
Thank you for your glowing compliments. Thank you for picking up the damn paper every week. Thank you for letting me know I was entertaining others and not just spinning my wheels.
All the best,
Joe Eskenazi

I knew you briefly 10 years ago, and it was by strange chance that I found this diary of yours. Is your hair as long as it once was?
It is interesting/strange to read your diary.
it seems like you are a little unhappy.
