Sorry the association with Ian was the only way that I knew who you were, but that is due in part that we never really spoke that much. I apologize because I always hated to be known as my father's child or as my girlfriend (in this specific case, my ex's) boyfriend instead of being known as Saul. I know EXACTLY what you are going thru, my x-husband and I were high school sweethearts, I was 14 and he 16 when we started dating. And struggled ALOT to be together. We had difficulties with his parents too. Like you, I had to write letters to his parents. We were together for 15 years and married for 10 of those years. Even though we have been divorced for 5 years now we are still the best of friends. Things happen for a reason, remember that. Just keep thinking positive, it will all work out one way or another. Oh! What a wonderful gift! Are you going to take lessons? I wish you all the best and lots of luck! If you'd like a hint: don't get frustrated at what you play for the first few years. It is very hard to play something that's worth listening to, which will mean it will take you a couple of years (at least) before you yourself can play something which you find nice enough to listen to at the same time. I almost stopped because of that when I was in my third of fourth year (I think), but I didn't, and I am very grateful for that now. What might help is listening to violin music of your choice, the kind of music you'd like to be able to play once you get good, to keep you going, to be inspired and eager to practise hard to get as far as the player you're listening to. I'm sorry if this is all to much and sounds to pushy -- I'm not trying to be pushy, I think it's only good if you play violin if you really want to yourself, so there is no point in being pushy. I'm just very enthusiastic! Haha, good luck to you, and take care! xx

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
