from hthespy :
Thanks Lyle.
from son-souvenir :
Since we both live in Portland we should meet-up at a cafe' for drinks. Or if you don't care to do that at all take me off your friends list. thanks, NESS
from mangotuesday :

from xxholding-on :

from saintsavvy :
I locked my diary, but if you want to keep reading, use "jisaw/puzzle" to get in. :D
from angryskunk :
Hey, this is Molly. Do you remember me? I log onto D-land sometimes just to read your entries. There is something about your writing style that I love. I'm in SE now and was wondering if you'd like to hang out and read or something sometime. If so my e-mail address is nfmolly@gmail.com. Peace.
from mangotuesday :
wait. i thought ron wyden had some magical plan for free national health care? tell me what i missed. ps HIIIIIIIIIIIII.
from unresolved :
i miss you.
from son-souvenir :
way more strange. i am in-fact returning to inhabit portland soon.
from son-souvenir :
HELLOW. Do I know you from reality (beyond cyber space) ? I just happened to be looking at my "who you are favorited by" list, and you were at the top of it. ????? note me back please..
from unresolved :
i miss you. xo
from achmardi :
I came across your diary fairly randomly, and when you mentioned the Central Library, I immediately pictured the one in Portland, not knowing if that's the one you meant or not. I miss the city. I think I probably sat next to that guy on the bus, or one of his friends at least, heh.
from sky-rocket :
hey, i saw you today around quarter past noon sitting at a bus stop on division. i was on a 4 bus headed east back from downtown. how's everything?
from mangotuesday :
and how are you these days.
from sky-rocket :
there's a word for that: Alexithymia (pronounced /əˌlɛksəˈθaɪmiə/) from the Greek words λεξις and θυμος (literally "without words for emotions") is a term coined by Peter Sifneos in 1973[1][2] to describe a state of deficiency in understanding, processing, or describing emotions.
from southeast :
holyshootitssummeritssummeritssummer!
from sky-rocket :
time to update!
from longitude :
Your diary makes me miss Portland. I was just there a few weeks ago, visiting a friend. I had the best times. Reading about places that I was close to brings backs good feelings.
from soon :
i see. and the song... i thought you were talking about the beatles song. but yeah, cheery spirits all around.
from mangotuesday :
and also a ref. to that m. ward song [titledherecomesthesunagain]. where he sings about the sandy river.
from mangotuesday :
as. in. the sun is here! like welcomebacksun. from last year. or whenever we last saw you. as in. please be sunny for everyday from now on. yayayayayayay. exclamation.
from mangotuesday :
here comes the sun again.
from soon :
because nothing's stopping them.
from crestone :
sorry about that phone call. why are some people so ridiculous?
from crestone :
very (very) glad to see you back again. i'll try to restrain myself from overdoing it with apostrophes even though i'm tempted. your thoughts on responsibility mirror mine lately. why are we encountering so many people stuck in 14-year old mode? it's nice to see that someone (namely you) is doing the right thing. also, remember that article from the summer--i gave it to all of my interns to read. it was their favorite reading of the program. so, thanks!
from division-day :
dude, gambling is stupid. you should definitely stop. you are way too smart for that.
from mangotuesday :
sowhatif. in 2008 we wrote in our diarylands again! how vintage modern would that be.
from mangotuesday :
hope things are better today.
from raven72d :
I loved your "about me" entry.
from sky-rocket :
Ha. Sounds like my mom, too! One of my sister's friends just turned 40, and my 55-year-old mom is like, "I can't believe these girls are my age..."
from boombasticat :
I really liked your entry about your friend. It's inspired me to maybe catalogue one or two of my own standouts.
from mangotuesday :
that entry was so moving. sincerely.
from sky-rocket :
sports? :)
from delighted :
lovely entry re: mr vonnegut and you!
from crestone :
great article! i don't think i would have otherwise discovered it, so thanks!
from mangotuesday :
hug.
from division-day :
holy shit.
from mangotuesday :
remember when we used to write in our diaries.
from sunkship :
that omelette sounds good. do you live in the suburbs? your writing is very suburban. but i like it.
from likeaforest :
!! how nice to see you are back from the netflix dead!
from treepose :
dearest soon. thank you for your little note. ashley suggested the same thing last night. however, i make far too much money for food stamps, surprisingly, though we must be below the poverty level. but maybe nathaniel could apply.
from mangotuesday :
you love your myspace more than your diaryland! come back.
from likeaforest :
but what did you think of bartleby?
from likeaforest :
what a rip off! does that mean your lawyer also won't let you divulge the new yorker caption you submitted?
from soon :
yes, it's true. sadly. for various reasons, most of which my lawyer won't let me discuss publicly at the moment.
from likeaforest :
what!!? nooo!
from expatriot :
i felt the same way on my birthday- but i did not conclude it with such a good narrative.
from likeaforest :
i should say: happy (belated now, i suppose) birthday, and also, i think any girl who was told such things over the phone couldn't help but be totally impressed.
from mangotuesday :
happiest birthday. may your breakfast scrambles always be scrambled and your latte cup filled to the brim.
from lady-dra :
just because it's the same old story doesn't mean you can't twist it around to make it new.
from likeaforest :
that's one of my all time favorite movies! also, does this mean you're renting movies from the library AND netflix? because that's totally crazy (and by crazy i mean impressive).
from mangotuesday :
i used to cut school for free cone day! which was always. best.day.ever. my favourite flavor it the mint one with the cookie chunks. but they don't have it anymore.
from mangotuesday :
i just saw the yes men last week. not a yes woman to be found. ): thanks and netflix. for all the inside jokes that cheer up my stressful day. who could even hold a roman candle to you. ciaociao.
from likeaforest :
added!
from likeaforest :
o, i am so so addicted to netflix, too. i have gotten by my mother and my best friend hooked on it by paying for a two months as a birthday gift. which is sort of nice, and sort of like giving someone crack for their birthday. hmmm. also, during the summer i was trying to watch (at least!) one movie a day, and i could've sworn that the nextflix people were getting annoyed with me, because my movies started to mysteriously move through the mail a little slower. strange but true.
from southeast :
did you see. last night. when charlie kauffman gave his speech. and pointed at the telepromter and said 'that is so intimidating' best ever. ps did you end up seeing any of the film festival films?
from southeast :
you are.
from darsana :
(.edit.) sorry, i left the note below, and then realized you'd have no idea who i was, because i was under another username. so, once again... thank you, and i hope you're having a beautiful day :)
from meltingstars :
thank you. i hope you're having a beautiful day.
from gwumpysmurf :

from lady-dra :
they're going to iran next, pciture the meeting for this, "well now that iraq had the shit bomemed out of it we might as well keep going, how bout turkey next!"
from likeaforest :
a delayed response: yes yes, teaching is what i do. (or more accurately, i am a grad student and have this composition class that is sometimes very nice and sometimes feels like it's just getting in the way of all my other work.) i feel like i had something else to ask/tell you, but now i really can't remember what it could've been(which serves me right, being so very lazy about getting back to you). i should mention, though, that the name of your journal is totally awesome. --j.
from unresolved :
hey you. i am at undermined.diaryland.com.
from lady-dra :
thnaks later ;P
from lady-dra :
i have a question in your profile where it says "where I end and you begin" isn't that from a song?
from likeaforest :
although you would get paid more if you had one, you don't really need a master's to be a high school english teacher. what you'd more likely need is a double major in english and education (although some private schools and desperate inner city schools don't even require the latter). plus, there's always those teach for america type programs who seem happy to take people regardless of specific requirements. so my point here is, i guess, if teaching is something you seriously wanted to do, there's really no reason why you couldn't do it.
