Hey Sugar, Are you somewhere else? I miss you. P.S. I added you to my new journal on LJ (which I am still not updating so much, but still). Just as an FYI. xxxx
from juliepoo15 :
Interesting post... Now I'm gonna have to google that shit. Nice pics, too. Hmm...who knew the word "google" would become a verb.
from juliepoo15 :
Hello there... Yea, a few years ago I only knew a little of Mike Patton. Then I got with my fiance, who just adores his music! We're both actually really into music. I love it all and my fiance is picky as hell. But he's got SOME great taste. It was Mike Patton this and that blah blah Mr. Bungle, Blah, Faith No More, Fantomas, yadda yadda. I'd only really known of FNM. Then I checked out his other music and was amazed at his range and loved what a total weirdo he is. THEN I saw his picture. *drool* Move over Eddie Vedder (my old flame *sigh*) here comes Mike! Yes! 24/7 exactly! I have so many pictures it's rediculous. And my fiance is feeding it! Getting me old music videos, cds, t-shirts...it's wonderful. Anyway, I like blogger in that the features are cool. You don't have to fuck with html codes, it does most of that for you. You can make your page look pretty cool without having to pay. It's easier to upload pics and stuff. But I do miss the community at Diaryland. Most of the blogs I read regularly are from Diaryland. Like you, I started doing this 'cause I wanted to meet people. I find it's not so easy for me. I guess it's because I have a totally different 'internet personality'. I don't know...whatever. It's still fun to blab about your life to complete strangers. Hah! Okay, now that I've left you a record-long note, I shall actually do some work. Stop on by anytime to read my blather. Thanks... Later!
from juliepoo15 :
Hey there... I'm a regular razor-vixen reader and came across your diary. Pretty cool, I like, I like... Hehehe, looks like you're just as obsessed with John Frusciante as I am with Mike Patton!
from tcklyrpharsn :
Hey pretty lady! It's funny that you updated today because I just saw your lovely photo in our alma mater's alumni magazine. Aw shucks. You're cute.
from razor-vixen :
I believe the secret ingredient in the batter is vinegar....he won't actually tell me what's in it. But it's really light, more like a tempura batter. Light & crispy....yum!
from whystinger :
Hmmm, I've lost contact with you it seems, thanks for giving me a jingle. I didn't have time to read other than the latest, so I don't know where you work or other details. If the folks are older (or not), remember "Youth and enthusiasm are soon replaced by old age and malice..." When I was 25, I worked with a bunch of 50-60 year olds guys. They were the same. They tried to stop me and it really sucked. Every idea I had "had been tried before and failed" or was stupid. My boss was about 55 and he was great. Some ideas he declined, but explained why and some he let me run with. Keep your chin up. Some people are threatened easily. Keep working hard and have faith in yourself. You are a smart and intelligent person. Learn all you can and you will succeed despite them.
from misstress :
No, that makes you Canadian.
from razor-vixen :
Not at all. That's not "well-traveled". That's "traveling the Caribbean".
from misstress :
Woo!
from razor-vixen :
Yay!
from razornotes00 :
Hey! Thanks for that :) I'm on my way to reading now! Ta Ta! ♥
from razornotes00 :
Hey there! I stumbled across your profile and I'm 100% positive it is an exellent diary that follows it! I was wondering if I could have the pleasure of reading your words(?) :) If you're handing out passwords, please give me a buz! [email protected] or leave a not for 'RazorNotes00' I hope I'll be able to read soon! xxxxx
from misstress :
You're locked! (Obviously you know that.) I hope all is well.
from tcklyrpharsn :
hey mang, what gives? locked? if you are giving out pwords, jeejeen @ hotmail is the place to send 'em... hope all is well.
from razor-vixen :
Yes, it's locked! Are you okay? Can I have the password? [email protected] Thanks!
from amberness :
Im glad you shower went well, but wait!?!?! You're not supposed to CLEAN! Anyhoo, hope you like your gifts and have fun house hunting!!!! (maybe) ;)
from amberness :
YAY showers are fun! I know I felt greedy too.....but its stuff you need and will use. *smiles* have a great time!!!! Im sure it will all be wonderful!
from amberness :
Dogs take (a lot of) time to train, dont be discouraged. Make sure you always check the leash before you go out, even if you just bought it. I remember I got a BRAND NEW leash for my old dog and put it on without checking and he ran away. Keep training and doing your best, he will come around!!! Best wishes! *smiles*
from soverycherry :
Okay, I have to comment on the Ryan love. He is also THE SEX. I LOVE how all he said was "It was mah pleashure," in that accent, oh my God, so, so, SO HOT. I haven't seen The Notebook, but I need to. By myself, probably, if that kiss from the awards show was any indication of how hot their love scenes are in the movie. And he was all scruffy and... yum.
from amberness :
Oh no! I hope you feel better for your new job tomorrow!!!!! Good luck!!! *smiles*
from tcklyrpharsn :
You COULD make it the same, you know...
from tcklyrpharsn :
I'm so FUCKING MAD about the smog, and why no congestion tax and WHY ON EARTH would anyone consider building a Humber Expressway I ASK YOU? And fuckign Escalades are my nemesis. If I go to jail because I bashed one to bits with a sledgehammer, you heard it here first.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Um...ew? That's fucking DISGUSTING. Repulsive. Wrong and bad. tell me it was at least a crazy person. I AM BEGGING YOU. Re: LJ, I do update, every day, but it's basically friends-only because there are a few people I know in real life who don't understand boundaries. So really, the only way you could read it is to COME TO THE DARK SIDE! xxxx
from tcklyrpharsn :
hey hot stuff... saw you in the Bishop's Alumni News section. YOU ARE FAMOUS HOLY SHIT. heh. and yeah, nice to see you updating again!
from ladechat :
congrats on your new job. glad to see you're updating again.
from goldieknox03 :
Congrats. I want to see pictures!
from razor-vixen :
Haha, your Subway story made me laugh. I prefer their toppings & meats to Mr.Sub. They WILL cut the bread straight for you if you ask, but they give you a funny look when they do it.
from ladechat :
I'm with you on the PT thing - I'd never had one before and now I really enjoy not having to count my own reps or set up my own weights. We're so spoiled! I belong to a women's only gym and it's so pretty and clean (plus, it's only been open for 2 months). No waiting for machines, either. Yonge/Adelaide, if you're interested.
from tcklyrpharsn :
I ALWAAAAYS ask them to cut it the "old way" and now there are youngins working there who dont' even REMEMBER the old way, can you imagine? Sometimes I have to mime it for them, and threaten to leap over the counter if they don't do it right. If they wont' cut the U, I won't buy the sandwich. I'm an utter nightmare, I realize.
from ladechat :
You're going to have to change your profile. I imagine that you are no longer 27! I have a ton of friends who are born in December, so a bunch of us went bowling and then to Karaoke last Friday night. And now I get to party with two different sets of friends on Thursday (my actual BD) and Saturday. Birthdays rock!
from ladechat :
Happy BD. It's around now, isn't it?
from justjano :
It is cripsmas! Me bad bad bad! Nah the Duff is not scary--Lansdowne a bit scary but not the Duff!
from justjano :
I love the Duff as I call it. It is so not scary! But that is my old hood so I love it. Apparently there are tons of cool new LED lights out--I live right near Home Depot here, and they are cool! Yeah I think you could get a tree in a cab at St. Clair and Bathurst or there is one at Davisville and Bayview--either one would be pretty close, or they might sell them somewhere else around there. I love Christmas!
from justjano :
I used to get my trees at the Dufferin Mall, but TCKLY is right Loblaws will have them and there is one right at St Clair and Bathurst. If not you can go to Weall and Cullen up on Sheppard--that is far I know.
from ladechat :
All of a sudden, all these people with December birthdays are coming out of the woodwork. When I was a kid, it was only me, my mum and my brother, but now it seems that everyone I know is born in December, October or May. My friends and I are having a group December BD celebration on Friday and we're going to Disco Bowling. Enjoy your BD day off!
from tcklyrpharsn :
hello! pink mini iPod! That's what I want for christmas (but i'm not going to get it.) happy soon birthday. And, re: Christmas trees, they alwyas have them at loblaws. Is there a loblaws near you? The one at Christie & St. Clair will most certainly have trees. I've seen lots at corner flower shops, too.
from ladechat :
I hate Jazz too, sista! Except if it's just a piano, then it's OK. The OC... man, it's not holding my interest. I tape survivor and watch the OC. Julie Cooper the new CEO of the Newport Group?? Gimme a break!
from tcklyrpharsn :
did you LOVE the part where marissa went totally out of control (except she can't act) and threw things in the pool? I rolled my eyes and rolled them again. and i'm sorry, but seth mumbles TOO MUCH. i couldn't even understand him half the time. NOT CUTE. anyway, i'm missing it tonight b/c i forgot to set the timer on the vcr and i have german till 9. it's TWoP for me! Okay i'm a loser and i'll go now.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Oh, man... that is truly awful. My sympathies and hugs to you. And good luck with the wedding dress. Let's hope for some good news!
from misstress :
I'm so sorry. My condolences.
from tcklyrpharsn :
See, if you had an LJ, you wouldn't feel bad about posting silly entries. There's something about LJ that makes it less final. I guess it's the blogging layout. Plus, if you had an LJ you could read all my friends-only entries, of which there are many. See how I tempt you!?
from tcklyrpharsn :
Sugar! Where you at? Do you have an LJ that you haven't told me about, naughty girl? And if you don't have one, why don't you have one yet? xo.
from ladechat :
I got a weird-ass message from someone I didn't know on my notes page as well. I just deleted it. I only do "the cottage" thing once a year. I love the city, but I also appreciate time away in the country. But the whole "cottage" thing as a way of life is a bit tiresome, I agree.
from tcklyrpharsn :
whoaaaa mUerto from the future! What up with that??????
from tcklyrpharsn :
yo yo yo! I hate "the cottage" too... everyone should just stay at "the cottage" and leave the rest of us alone. Fuckers. Meanwhile, i was out today and I have nothing but a sweaty ass to show for it. And a headache, from fighting the crowds at Kensington. I think I'm over Kensington. It's not even cheap anymore and it's packed with tourists who are like...oooh what's bok choy? Anyway, hi!
from justjano :
It is fun to be at school. I now just have to find a job to support me. It will get really busy soon and I am looking forward to that! Beats my shit ass job I left!
from sugar-slit :
Thanks for the note! I read some your journal and it seems like you're so hard on your self! Don't be. We all go through crazy weepy times...it does get better. Be kind to yourself! xo
from krugerpak007 :
Be brave! Post them! I can so relate to what you say though. Ok, I am going to come back and read more, it's just late and I have work tomorrow. I hope you have a good weekend. And stop feeling guilty about the laundry and the ironing...xoxo Kathy
from tcklyrpharsn :
ah, post 'em! who cares? I want to see one. Meanwhile, if you keep your eyes peeled, you can usually spot a clothing box somewhere in the neighbourhood. Barring that, there's a women's mission box at bloor and lippincott, i think? either that or albany. Just south of Bloor and it's in a parking lot behind the second cup. I know that's far for you, but it is a good one.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Did leave, I mean. Not did see him get shot.
from tcklyrpharsn :
I WAS THERE. IT WAS AWFUL. IT MAKES MY STOMACH HURT. I forced mark to leave because I didn't want to see the gunman get shot. Luckily, we did.
from tcklyrpharsn :
i haven't really told anyone what it is yet................. i might tell you soon.
from tcklyrpharsn :
yeah, i've been on LJ. it takes a few days to figure it out but then it's awesome! i haven't been writing in 2 journals... 'cause I ihaven't been writing in this one! you should come over to the dark side... muah ha haaaa!
from ladechat :
Are you sure we don't work in the same office? I have annoying Finance woman who talks too loud on the phone and yells at her kids, as well as annoying dry hacking cough guy who sits across from me. I hate it!
from tcklyrpharsn :
hey, you don't have to have a MOH to have a stagette! I'm sure someone will do it even if you don't have any bridesmaids. That being said, go with your gut if you have to choose.
from justjano :
We can all swing on the swing wheeeeeeeeeeeee!
from ladechat :
You and Jano should go head to head on the Nadia thing. She, too, was obsessed. My take on the Olympic thing is that it has more to do with the fact that sport (other than team sports like pro hockey, football and baseball) is not supported in Canada. Children are not encouraged to participate in sports (other than the forementioned). Kids who participate in non-mainstream sports are not supported. There is only ONE 50-meter community pool in Toronto. ONE! How are you supposed to breed world-class swimmers like that? Don't get me started...
from justjano :
If you guys have a dinner I want to swing on the swing!
from ladechat :
Ooooooo! I'd be up for dinner in TCKLY's kitchen. I'd even offer to cook! We gotta work on that...
from ladechat :
Yeah, parties Friday and Saturday. Lately I'm finding myself fully booked, or I stay at home picking my nose - feast or famine on the social scene for me.
from justjano :
That sounds like a fun night! Where are you going? I did get your pictures--did you not get my email back about it?
from tcklyrpharsn :
It's not exactly a two bdrm. It's more of a 1 + 1. There's a big bdrm upstairs and a good sized office type space inthe basement, which doesn't have a door... it's actually really nice. It's big rooms but has no storage space at all so we have to really think about whether or not we want things when we bring them home! So it's not extra room; it's like the perfect size. But you make sacrifices for a kitchen like that. Also, I totally prefer Loblaws! PC, baby! And we mostly go to Strictly Bulk (organic) or the fruit and flower markets on College. I think you're getting a pretty good deal at $1495 if it's two full bdrms. blah blah blah people in toronto talking about apartments blah blah blah
from ladechat :
I'm going to New Jersy this evening - not back until late tomorrow. Plus, I'm already booked for Fri/Sat night. Have fun, though!
from tcklyrpharsn :
hey, blogger dinner! Too bad I'm going to be in MTL this weekend or I would totally go. I've never been to one! Meet-up! Maybe next time...
from tcklyrpharsn :
just to clarify... when I said pass it on to a "friend", I meant you.
from tcklyrpharsn :
We pay $1450 incl. It was supposed to be $1500 but we got them down a few measly bucks. Hee! I heart my apartment! And I will totally pass it on to a friend when we leave. Not that it's a "deal", per se, but it is a great place.
from justjano :
Ahh I remember my blogger dinner--drunk as a skunk with Jonas Parker, Misstress and Juliana Rose! Goooooood times. Where are you going? Who's blogs are you reading?
from justjano :
The Old Mill is nice for weddings. I generally don't like those kind of places like Fantasy Farms, but I have been to weddings there and it is nice not to banquetty feeling!
from justjano :
I think that anyone who bought it would level the house--it is sinking and they have done nothing to fix it. It is a corner lot so they will have lots of room. I think that they all banked on getting some big cash for that place. If you get a chance to go to Cresci it is cool--falling down too, but a huge old house.
from justjano :
I lived under them until I moved here. I went out with him about 4 or 5 years ago. Their mom has been sick for a long time, so that is good that they are moving in to a place. The house is a wreck though! I don't think it has been updated since late 60's or early 70's. Delapitated. I will email you a question.
from justjano :
Went out with her brother, and lived under her sister in their house in TO they had renovated into two apartments. Small world!
from justjano :
Did you go to dinner with this Rachele and Ian in Ottawa? Is she from TO and are her initials RG?
from tcklyrpharsn :
AAAAAAAAAAA! TWO UTERI/UTERUSES? HOLY SHIZZLE THAT IS THE MOST HORRIFYING THING ON THE PLANET.
from misstress :
Man, I so understand where you're coming from. Accepting that this *is* it feels like failure, somehow.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Maybe you should mention something to her in passing... like, "Are you even excited that I'm getting married?" Or, less aggressively, you could say something like, "Is there anything in particular that you would like to be involved in with regards to the wedding?" Maybe if you ask her directly she'll get the hint. Eesh. Mothers are really pieces of work.
from tcklyrpharsn :
I'm sad that you feel upset or that no one is caring about your day! That sucks. BUT! I will mention, just for the record, that you might just feel that they don't care because they aren't making as much of a fuss as you are. If I think about it, I don't think I make much fuss when my friends get engaged or start planning weddings...I mean, after all, it's their day, not mine. But when it comes down to the actual event, I put my bells on, and if it's a really good friend, I'm more excited than you could possibly imagine! So basically, don't get too down about it, especially this early in the game. People will come around. But punch your parents in the face and tell them to take you out for dinner, already!
from tcklyrpharsn :
Darling, you can do the holiday wedding if you want, but please, please please, don't get mad at your friends if they can't afford it. I direct you to my diary. I know we've discussed this. Otherwise, man, do whatever the fuck you want! Fuck the people who don't care! I"m sure there will be lots of people who DO care, lots.
from tcklyrpharsn :
ooh, good idea! you are the queen of presents! i should really start buying presents for M.
from justjano :
Where do you want to have it?
from ladechat :
Congratulations. I couldn't see the ring because the photo wouldn't download. I'm sure it's nicer than anything I have. Oh, wait, that would require me to actually HAVE jewellery. Ha ha.
from justjano :
You have the ring I would want, if I wanted an engagement ring! Congrats on your engagement! Have you set a date?
from misstress :
Congratulations! It's a very pretty ring.
from razor-vixen :
POST POST POST! And as the previous note says....did you bring home any rocks?!?!
from misstress :
Hmm. I wonder if a sparkly ring features in the next entry...
from tcklyrpharsn :
oh my goodness! well congratulations! and worry not...remember, I'M married! and i'm okay with it, promise. congratulations again...talk to you soon.
from tcklyrpharsn :
whattaweekend! you met rachel hunter! there was a bust! i've never been privy to a matador bust before. i'm pissed to hear that the hooch lady is covert and especially pissed that there's no more warm, flat ginger ale in a plastic cup with a big space at the top for I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT! anyway.
from tcklyrpharsn :
man, it's crazy to be looking for apts. right now! this place would definitely have cost like $2100 last year. It's still a high price (1450 much?) but whoa, we could never have gotten it last year. Anyway, we took it! woo hoo!
from tcklyrpharsn :
eesh! i'm glad i missed the o.j. Yes it is sad... everyone wants to move out to the glorious green beaches, so they can start popping out the babies. yuk yuk and double yuk. I wish that we could all stay as young, drunk smokers for the rest of our short lives! To Life! To Life! L'Chaim!
from ladechat :
Thanks for your support. My condo fees are actually quite cheap - less than $200 - since they only cover basic maintenance. There aren't any facilities like a pool or anything like that, so that's why it's so cheap.
from justjano :
I am coming if a friend of mine from California is going to stay for the weekend. That is why.... ha ha I hope I get to see you.
from tcklyrpharsn :
aaaaaargh! the frustration! a lexus SUV AND an escalade? wow, my hero. barf.
from justjano :
Did you enjoy your banana split? How are you? Might be in TO weekend of June 25th--will you we around?
from razor-vixen :
I forget where I heard that...I think on a radio show or something. Haven't seen it in print, so it could all just be rumours!
from misstress :
Can you believe it won't be back until NOVEMBER?! That's 7 months away! Oh, and I read that the coming season will focus on the two families and not so much the kids. So, maybe Ryan won't be back as often...
from misstress :
Me = bawling. Seth! So, so sad. And Kirsten! Goddamn tv.
from razor-vixen :
Yes, the Phillys are in town for game six. Woo. Did you hear that next year the O.C. will be focusing more on the two families and less on Ryan? I thought it was supposed to be the whole "fish out of water" thing...
from ladechat :
Ahhh, Bachelor Bob. I wonder what's happening with him? Yes, I probably will write some updates on the New Bachelor, but I've been so darned busy that I haven't had any time to write much at all. And this one doesn't impress me the same way that Bob did. The OC is on Wednesday on both CTV/Fox, so it's not on Monday next week. I also tape The West Wing at 9 on Wednesdays, so now I have three things to watch at the same time! Don't even get me started on the finale of Friends, which is on at 7PM then a break for Survivor from 8-9 and then the final hour of the show from 9-10.
from ladechat :
Yes, yes, I know. My boss thinks I take too much on personally (as in, taking responsibilities for things that are not mine to take), but that's just my nature. The OC did rock - I thought the same thing about someone always ending up in the pool. And yet again, more parties where adults and teenagers are socializing together - and now it's 3 generations since Cal (or CayCay, as Sandy called him) is in the mix! Hey, wait, doesn't that wedding make Seth Marissa's uncle or something? Why must the season finale be on Wednesday, though??? Too many other things to watch on Wednesday like The Bachelor!
from tcklyrpharsn :
yep, i did see it last night (and monday! he he!), but just wasn't sure whether it was true or not. did marissa know that they slept together? okay as soon as you answer this question, let's pretend like we never had a conversation in notes about The O.C., kay?
from tcklyrpharsn :
you're beauuuutiful! p.s. i missed all those OC episodes while I was gone. Did Ryan actually sleep with Teresa? Is that when he lost his watch in the motel? Aaargh I need to invest in some good quality TWoP time, but man, reading is harder than watching TV. I hate Marissa.
from tcklyrpharsn :
aw, man! thanks...I needed that.
from ladechat :
Ahh, Yonge & St. Clair... my old stomping ground. I lived just up the street on Lascelles (just south of Davisville) from '92--94. Get used to the honking. Oh, and during World Cup Soccer, too.
from ladechat :
I was also subjected to the odd honk, hoot and holler last night (probably the 905-ers on their way back to Pickering along Kingston Rd). Ear plugs do wonders (also to drown out the sound of racoons fighting at 4AM). And yes, sometimes people just decide to get in their cars and drive around waving their flags and honking their horns. Did you not live in TO the two years the Jays won the World Series? I lived just off Yonge St. at the time. Ayoi!
from tcklyrpharsn :
um, i think people actually DO get in their cars (pasted with Leafs flags, of course) and drive around after a victory. guys are JUST THAT COOL. i agree, though, that the vast majority are losers from the 905, yo.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Anything but high-waisted jeans!!! Snap out of it, man! Anything but that! Seriously, though...sorry you're feeling craptastic. xo.
from razor-vixen :
Ah, Mandy. Could she be any more boring in her "about her" stuff? Yikes. Yeah, we have turkey three times a year: Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas. Don't know, just our family, I guess! Hope you had a good one.
from ladechat :
Mandy the Soccer player is my fave! I hope he picks her! The French-Canadian girl looks like a skank! BTW - Jano LOVED H&M (which she is now calling S&M).
from tcklyrpharsn :
are you going to the gladstone?
from tcklyrpharsn :
hey, wha' happened?
from kingbastard :
Ass indeed. And that picture of you in the bikini is also very "ass"! Thanks again for reading and e-mail me anytime through my site. I check that more often these notes things. See ya!
from kingbastard :
Hey! Thanks for reading my stuff. I'm really glad you like it. Is that you huffing on a 'gar in that photo? Cause if it is... hey now! Did I mention I live in Toronto aswell?
from ladechat :
Unfortunately, some companies still see travel as a perk for, as opposed to a burden on, their employees. IMO, it's all about work/life balance. I don't get to collect points on a lot of my travel because I fly on special travel agent fares, which aren't eligible, which is great for my company to save money, but sucks for me personally. Oh well, chalk one up for The Man.
from kingbastard :
Hey, nice diary. I had stuff on this site too but I put it all on my own web-site now. Check it out, you'd like it. It's a laugh riot! www.marksbeefs.com Keep up the good writing!
from ladechat :
Sugar, I work in the travel industry and you can tell C. that best practices say that if a trip is longer than 5-6 hours in length that companies allow travel on business class. That might put London out, but HK would certainly be in. That's inhuman. Same thing with points - it's for the employee, not the company, to collect. And I'm with you on the kid thing, too. There are pet owners like that, too.
from razor-vixen :
HAHAHAHA! Can you imagine trying to fit that in your pocket?! "Is that a cell phone in your pocket or are you VERY VERY VERY happy to see me?!"
from tcklyrpharsn :
God, I love your rants re: kids in public. We are so on the same page... wooot! p.s. LAUGHED OUT LOUD at the "New Jack City" phone... eep!
from tcklyrpharsn :
whoa, what's with the perv? Anyway...It's all that Mediterranean salt, sea and sun that made my skin all glowy like that. Too bad it's already fading...waaah!
from blackmandick :
Hi, I didn't do a search for your name in any way, shape or form. I just found you by scanning through the member directory. I try never to expect anything from anyone, its a defense mechanism from learned experiences, that way, I'm never disappointed. I just wanted to listen <read> what you wanted to say, that's all. I too have a 30 y.o. friend who was recently diagnosed with MS. And another who suffers from a rare form of rheumatoid arthritis, its not pretty. So far, I've only been diagnosed with chronic sleep apnea. Well anyway, thanks for sharing...
from blackmandick :
Hello there Sugar-Slit, your name makes me lick my lips...Anyway, I'm glad that your MRI was negative. Epilepsy isn't that bad when you stack it up against the other stuff that's out there. Gain strength in knowing that at least you understand what's going on and you're learning how to deal with it. Imagine those people out there that have a silent menace growing within themselves that they don't even know about yet! You're very fortune, Sugar-Slit. Tell me are you as sexy as you sound? If so, I've got to tell you, I'm getting rigid just talkin to ya'...See ya around...
from justjano :
I am spending Easter Friday with my mom. One of my clients has a resto in Cambridge so we are going there for lunch. Saturday unfortunatley may be the only day! Whaaaaa!
from ladechat :
Yeah, I guess it's far if you live/work downtown and don't have a car. I don't have anything to compare it to, never having shopped there in the US or Europe, but I liked what I saw. You really do have to make the trip up there - even if you have to take the grubway.
from misstress :
Yeah, it's shit. I could fight it (and win) but although I love my apartment, it's not worth the aggro, what with everything else going on. Stupid world.
from justjano :
I saw H&M on TV and thought of you.... I will be around from Friday til Monday, what is your early Sat aft. looking like?
from ladechat :
Hey, Sugar... Went to H&M at Fairview yesterday. Have you been yet? It's great. Cheap, cheap, cheap! The place was packed, though (big lineups for change rooms). Don't start smoking again - it's not worth it.
from misstress :
Nice picture! And yes, I'm moving to my own domain. It should be ready to go Monday or thereabouts. Maybe. Really, I'm not doing any of the work. JP is.
from justjano :
One of my good buddies here and I were talking about thank you notes. She is getting married and she is all worried about getting her Thank you cards out in the first 3 months. Writing notes is a lost art! LOST I say. If you came to my wedding I would send you a card. I have my ticket to come home for Easter--so how's about a coffee or something?
from tcklyrpharsn :
Dude, I am so sad that you went and paid good money for that film. I hate that the fucking C-diggidy-hurch is taking over the world. BUt then, I am in Rome and it feels like that shit is just making me COLLAPSE INTO DUST... or turn into a pillar of salt. ANYWAY... the reason why Pontius Pilate is portrayed as a thoughtful, dichotomized governor (a phrase I love, by the way.. can I steal it for my academic work?) is so that the Jews can have more blame placed on their shoulders than the ROmans. Classic. I will see it at some point, but I won't pay for Mel Gibson to wipe his ass with more pages of the Bible. (But other than that, I don't really have an opinion on the movie). GOD, I am so far behind on my TWoP| whaddup on the OC?
from razor-vixen :
I don't think there's a specific age where you have to start dressing a certain way. To me, a "cougar" implies desparation. That's when you see the women in their 30s/40s at nightclubs, wearing clothes that are too small/accentuate every flaw, and coming on to anything that moves. THAT is a cougar.
from misstress :
Supposedly one is to stop wearing super short anything after 25. (Whatever.) Awesome shoes, however, are always good.
from misstress :
Hee hee. See? The world does revolve around me. Now you have one more reason to come to Montreal - to meet Simba!
from ladechat :
Just bored because the "newness" of buying a condo is over now and because I won't be moving until, like, November! What am I going to do until then??? Hey, where's a good place to go for drinks downtown after work? I haven't worked downtown in 12 years, so I'm thinking "The Loose Moose" isn't such a happenin' place anymore (ha ha). Actually, I think it's called Milwaukee's now.
from ladechat :
We are SO of one mind where the AJ2: Hawaii finale is concerned. Thanks to Ben for writing that review - it all makes sense now. I always suspected that on these shows the guys were more interested in "winning the prize" than actually wanting to be with the girl. Now I know it's true.
from justjano :
I know I love how they are doing it too! Ha ha! Yeah I like Theresa too. I want Anna to stay but you are right--she is going to go now. So sad! The GG was fucking fantastic last night! I think they have seen the error in their ways and they are bringing back some of the old characters. Dean was on again last night and he still so loves Rory.
from justjano :
So what was your thought on the OC? Another good episode. Though I think we going to lose Anna now! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
from ladechat :
In my experience, potatoes should actually be mashed (or put through a ricer or food mill) before whipping, otherwise they never get really creamy. And as Jano says, adding whipping cream certainly kicks them up a notch. My personal fave (though not totaly original) is to boil a clove or two of garlic with the potatoes and mash that in. Then, instead of using cream, use buttermilk. Fold in chives at the end and it tastes like a baked potatoe with sour cream and chives! Yum! But those mustard ones you described also sound heavenly...
from justjano :
Fairview Mall is at the DVP and Sheppard. I grew up right near there! Me and the members of Rush. My mom who lives near the said Fairview Mall makes the best whipped potatoes in the world. I did not realize until I was in my 20's that they were in fact not mashed but whipped! Oh glory is the whipped potato! Put a bit of whipping cream in there and you have a glorious concoction!
from razor-vixen :
Oops, I see you knew that! I posted here before I continued reading. Fairview Mall is at Leslie & Sheppard, right by the DVP.
from razor-vixen :
I heard earlier this week that in March, H&M will be opening in Fairview & Promenade Malls!!! How cool is that?!
from ladechat :
Funny, I actually like the spicy-scented stuff. That said, I don't bathe myself in it every day. You might have gone home alone on Valentine's day, but I spent the evening watching videos by myself - how lame is that??
from ladechat :
Thanks. Actually, the condo fees are minimal for this place because there aren't any ameneties. The place is open-concept, so there won't be many walls - I'll just go with the few that are there. But I do get to choose finishes like flooring, cabinets, etc. That won't be until later in the spring, though.
from misstress :
I hesitate to say that it's accurate, because it said I was every guy's dream, but yes, it seemed pretty accurate. Although, it did ask me if I was in a relationship and I said yes but then the answer seemed geared more towards a single gal, so who knows? What did yours say?
from justjano :
I know how does it end up that Luke is the voice of reason. GG tonight--please god let there be Jess!
from justjano :
Ahhh A Prayer for Owen Meany! The last 20 pages had me in tears! That is a modern masterpiece! I always think that he looks like Dill in the movie adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird. I am with you about TCKLY she did not see the best episode ever! BF and I watched it and man it was the best ever! Luke seems to have gotten over his momentary retardedness! That and the bang up GG with Jess in it makes me want to watch more tv!
from justjano :
It is still the same, the major complaint is that nothing is really going on. So Jess being back may just mix it up a little. Ling was kicked out of her house.
from justjano :
I knew there was something I had to tell you. I watched GG on Wednesday and Jess was on it. I was weak in the knees. He reminds me of FB (in my journal) a little. Dark and brooding!
from misstress :
Seriously! What is UP with fotolog? It's very annoying. The investigation has...stalled. They think we did it. But Simba is great. So is Bunny. My mantra is: everything will be fine, no one was hurt. Repeat as needed. This is going to be the longest note in history, but I was also bemoaning the lack of funds with which to partake in the February sales.
from ladechat :
The Beach is only 6K from Yonge along Queen, so it's not that far. No Subway, only the streetcar, so it does take about 30 minutes to get downtown. Actually, you could take the bus up to Woodbine (10 min) and then the subway from there. Lots of kids, dogs, singles, runners, cyclist, etc. Houses are expensive, though. But if your life revolves around the downtown area, it might be considered "far". Depends on what your "centre point" is!
from ladechat :
Of course a true city girl wouldn't know where Birchmount is (it's just east of Victoria Park, which is the Toronto/Scarborough boundary)! I didn't know my neighbourhood existed until I moved here 9 years ago. I live in the Beach and work in Markham (Warden/Steeles). Houses certainly aren't cheaper here, that's for sure. I'm on my own, so I'm fairly price-sensitive. But I also don't want to move out of my 'hood, so I have to be patient.
from ladechat :
Did they take your license away because of your condition or because of the meds? Or is it because of the meds that they know about the condition? Do you have an OHIP card you can use as ID?
from ladechat :
I'm looking in the east end. South of Danforth, east of the Don to about Birchmount. Scarborough scares me. Glad you're home - burned butt and all! Great photo!
from justjano :
Oh I am plenty weird don't you worry!
from tcklyrpharsn :
hey hottie hot hottie! lookin good. good luck with the pills...
from justjano :
That is cool. In true Jano fashion I may not come that weekend. It just depends on a few things here, but if I do---yowsa we are going to get together. Little Miss Miss can attest to the fact that I am not crazy or weird. Well weird in a bad way. Great to have you home! I was so happy I left myself a note!
from misstress :
Welcome back!
from justjano :
Look at you in your sexy little suit! I hope you had a good time!
from razor-vixen :
OH, I'm so envious! I hope you have an awesome time in Cuba. You missed the brutal storm on Tuesday, then. That's another plus! Have a drink with an umbrella in it!
from ch4r13y :
hey! Your diary is really cute! I love cherries! I know you don't know me but I love to read what people have to say, and I think you do it wonderfully. Nice job. hit me sometime!
from raven72d :
The value of travel is not so much in the going-- which is inconvenient, expensive, and exhausting --but in the *having gone*, in the stories one gets to tell of Riga or Tallinn or Ulan Bataar...
from justjano :
I think I will be home the weekend of the 20th. So it looks like I may actually get to meet you. I just want to come home for no reason and go to Kmarket, hangout in the college st glitterati, and go to Sneaky Dee's for the atmosphere and some great brekkie! AAAAAH the justice! Have a great trip, put together a fotolog if you have some good pictures. Have a mojito for me!
from misstress :
You do know how it ends, basically. It's your life, you get to write the ending.
from misstress :
I love this series. It could totally be a book.
from justjano :
Perhaps you forget about my entry about the coat--I have no money--I work and make no money. Am I in a volunteer position? I am coming home late Feb I think so when are you going to NY?
from justjano :
I agree with Little Miss Miss --you would so be a metrosexual....... Hey want to come to Montreal and make sugar cookies with us on Saturday? ha ha! I am dying to meet you and dying to see you and little miss miss together. When are you coming?
from misstress :
Aww. You're so sweet. JP started it though. I can't take all the credit. So, if you were a guy, you'd be a metrosexual?
from ladechat :
I finally got a chance to watch the first half of Monday's show last night. You don't score as many points for knowing "Atwell" as they actually *mentioned* his last name on this episode. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you did know it, but you don't get the bonus points ;-)
from justjano :
I think they are just making them BOTH annoying. What happened to the bitchy Summer of well summer! Yeah I am with you on the Marissa thing--she sucks! I love Anna--but more like she was when we met her at Cotillion.. What happened to Hailey?
from ladechat :
Damn. You're right! It's just that nobody pines away for "Ryan Atwell" the way they do for "Seth Cohen". "Seth Cohen" just rolls off the tongue better, too. BTW, tell Adam that I really enjoy reading his blog and that I wished he updated more frequently.
from ladechat :
I only saw the last half of The O.C. last night (the first half I have on tape to watch tonight). That Oliver dude is creepy and Marissa is STUPID for not being able to see through it. Prediction: Something major will happen, Ryan will save Marissa and, without actually saying, "I told you so," they will get back together as she is so grateful that he saved her life. Daily double question: What is Ryan's last name?
from justjano :
OK I have to ask what happened right after Oliver got hit in the student lounge? I missed that part. Yeah I am with you that Seth should be on Ryan's side. Here is the other thing that pisses me--the longing glances of Seth and Summer--please don't go down that route! It is a great great show this week--but please don't make Seth too big for his britches!
from justjano :
I can feel the sun warming your bones right now! You are so lucky!
from justjano :
Well that is good that you went and you will continue to go. TCKLY is gone now--whaaaa! So when do you go on your vakay?
from justjano :
I think sometimes that the psychics end up making you fulfill their prophecy! Go travel, buy wooden dolls for your favourites, and silk fans! Screw the psychic.
from tcklyrpharsn :
that's right! fuck that stupid psychic bitch! in her face. I'll be checking in for the next part of your life story... xo Jenn.
from misstress :
As much as I would like to believe that he was being a gentleman, I think it was more the fact that 3 of my friends that were there weighed about 200 pounds. Of muscle. He's not a gentleman, but he's not completely stupid either.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Man, that's the shits. Sounds like you have a fantastic doctor, though, with whom you can be honest and expect honesty in return. If you start taking it and hate it, can you stop?
from ladechat :
Yikes, Sugar, that sounds so... serious. As in "grown-up" serious. Lifestyle changes are hard, and admitting that you have to make a lifestyle change to improve the quality of your life (or save your life) is even harder. All my positive healing and lifestyle vibes are with you.
from justjano :
Sorry to hear about your unfortunate meeting with the doctor. I think that you should take the stuff--if for no other reason than you don't want to end up really hurting yourself. Yeah I am sure gaining weight and losing your hair is scary, but the alternative is quite scary too. I mean what would I do if I could not discuss Louis Vuitton, Triple 5 Soul and engagement rings with you. My life would have no meaning!
from ladechat :
Yours is the second story like that I have heard this week. One of my friends was in traffic court this week and the officer who gave her the ticket asked for her phone number and address so that he could come by and "discuss the case with her". Being naive, she gave it to him (thinking he actually wanted to "discuss the case"). Her live-in boyfriend was the one who had to burst her bubble about the cop's real motives. I told her that she should have her BF answer the door when he comes over.
from justjano :
Back is better almost 100% fuck does it ever ruin stuff when you hurt your back. I used a bit of the over counter stuff, it worked ok. I just have to really take it easy until it is ship shape. Where is the Indian Rice Factory again? I love that the security guard wanted to ask you on a date! Ideeeeeot!
from tcklyrpharsn :
wow, look at all this engagement ring talk going around... and me with my slim band. you're all jealous; i just know it.
from justjano :
Funny that you say the Emerald cut, I was at Misstress' party and a girl had an emerald cut stone and it is really really nice. I think you and I have the same taste that way. If I were to have an engagement ring it would be sapphire slightly raised and two smaller diamonds on the side in platinum. But for whatever reason I already know what I want as a band. Don't ask why I know but I just do!
from ladechat :
Ah, the joys of the double-income household. If only I could be so lucky. Hopefully, I'll get a decent bonus next month and that will help with my financial plan.
from ladechat :
Nice to be able to pay off your vacay in cash within a month! I'm tackling mine a few hundred dollars at a time. It sucks to be poor, man!
from ladechat :
I first heard the term on Sex in the City. Since then, I've heard it quite a bit (radio, etc.). We have one guy here at the office who refered to himself that way during our Christmas party (as explanation as to why he recognized the scent of Aveda's Rosemary Mint shampoo) and he is getting ribbing to no end about that from the other guys. He's now referred to as "Metro-Dave".
from justjano :
Montreal does that to a girl too--no Birks for me and they are my favourite shoes! I have them but if I ever wore them out on the street I am pretty sure that I would be dead before I got to the metro. I agree with Misstress about the engagement ring. We had that talk the first time we met. Wedding ring or bust!
from ladechat :
I think the new term for boys like C. is "Metro-sexual".
from tcklyrpharsn :
ah well... at least you have already been there! this is my first trip. oh boy oh boy oh boy
from ladechat :
Naw, I'm fine. Just one more thing to add to my list of aches and pains.
from misstress :
Do you know how long engagements rings have been fashionable? Like, 100 years. And diamonds? Like, 50 years. Also, why does the woman have to wear the ring and not the man? It's to symbolize that SHE is TAKEN. As in property. But HE is still FREE. Ahem. Sorry. I tend to get a little carried away. I like sparkly things too. And I'm wearing a diamond/ruby ring anyway. Sigh. I'm such a sell-out.
from misstress :
Um. I'm working on it? No, really. There wasn't much to recap. Read thadook's ode to moi. Heh.
from misstress :
That's the reverse of what happened with my friend and me. The woman wouldn't read my palm because she said my aura was black. She wouldn't even touch me. Do you believe in this stuff? Oh, and I love these retrospectives you're doing.
from ladechat :
I also extend the same disdain towards many pet owners.
from tcklyrpharsn :
nope, not the same arek. hey, thanks for the reminder! I forgot that i was coming up on 500. Pretty crazy shit.
from nenna :
oh, that's interesting.. thanks for adding me to your faves too.. I live in Germany and I can't understand why anyone would go here, lol.. it's so boring.. my bf lives in Canada though, so I hope to be moving there after I finish my studies.. =)
from tcklyrpharsn :
hooray for adults only! god, i hate kids. um, where is arek from? I knew someone named arek once.
from ladechat :
No, you cannot freeze your lungs. It's perfectly safe. I've got a great little internal furnace that keeps me nice and warm on the inside. You just have to protect yourself from the wind and you're fine. That said, I saw a guy riding his bike this morning. He must have been on CRACK!
from nenna :
oh, you used to live in germany??
from justjano :
Ahhh Sugar! I had the same experience with my ex who broke the shit out of my heart! I saw him at the Canadian International Marathon. I crossed the finish line looking like shit and there he was. I could feel the weight of the stare! Turned around and there he was! Ahh you think we get over this stuff but these people MEAN something to us and will continue to mean things to us til our dying day. It is strange though how all the time can pass and blammo it all comes back and hits you like a ton of bricks. Well that was how it was for me.
from ladechat :
Sugar, there are no lineups for cardio machines when you go "outside" (just like the Special K commercial). I'm in good shape on the inside, but it doesn't always look that way on the outside!
from tcklyrpharsn :
Part Six, part six! I can't wait to hear what happens... Thanks for all your well-wishes and congrats. HOLY SHIT I'm not in school anymore! But don't worry, i'll still update drunk at three am on a Monday morning... Promise.
from misstress :
Thank you. Email is on it's way. Better written this time. Bear with me, I just got in a shipment of shiny new office supplies and they are distracting me. Hehe.
from ladechat :
I think we inherit that belief from our parents' generation. There are so many more ways that we can define ourselves than simply by the job we hold. It's not so much *what* you choose to do, but how you *feel* about what you are doing. Luke as Rain Man - that was funny.
from justjano :
ha ha The Rain Man--that whole thing about Rooney at the concert WHAT THE HELL! I missed most of the episode where we found out his daddy bats for the other team, so I missed the fact that that sportos dissed him. Poor Luke he is now retarded!
from misstress :
Yeah, I gave my notice yesterday. 4 weeks. He doesn't believe me. Keeps offering me more money, but I'm done here. I loved your latest entry btw.
from ladechat :
Sugar, I'm so intrigued by your latest entry. Damn, I love reading stuff like this. Can't wait to read Part Six!
from justjano :
I am talking about the grey gross 70's welcome back kotter/ grease variety. Triple 5 Soul is fine... well if you want to look spoiled! ha ha just jokes I am taking that from your diary!
from ladechat :
You better watch OC tonight on CTV or you'll be behind the times and all the deets will be uncovered in everyone's journal! Wednesday? Don't you know that Wednesdays are for Ed, The West Wing and (in a few weeks) The Bachelorette?? Happy New Year to you, too!
from justjano :
Sorry to double note you, but I will make sure she drinks a red headed slut on her birthday. Too bad you can't be here but I will make sure we drink to you. I am scared that I am not going to survive her birthday. After the last drunken escapade--see Suj's birthday! Water is the key!
from justjano :
I have had very little luck with Bikinis. I had one that rocked back in the 90's and since then none for me. That and the fact that I think I look like a beached whale in a bathing suit. The OC is on 9 pm on CTV tonight if you don't want to wait until Wednesday. I would be pissed off about the shedding too! I hate shedding.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Nothing says trip planning like a hot new bikini. Presently my bikini consists of my favourite boy short undies from lululemon and my black bra. How ghetto is that? ha haaaa. I figure Greece won't mind. Um, and, um, is the OC on tonight, too? Because I'm at my parents' house now, you see, and I have to rekindle my love affair with the O.C.
from amishboy :
maybe a tinsy bit funny? In a constipated kinda way?
from justjano :
Life has a crazy way of guiding you away from the things that are supposed to make sense and guiding you to the things that are really meant to make sense. I used to get all bummed out about not being "further" in my life and then I would stop and think about all the friends and experiences--not to mention the Monst that would be missing if I had taken the road I was expected to travel, and I always feel better cause it was the right thing to do. So what I am poor, I can always make money, but it is the friends I have made that rock my very existence! Hey any chance of coming for Misstress' Bday? It would be so great to see you.
from justjano :
Those crossroad moments are weird eh? While I have not been in that exact situation I know when I broke up with my boyf (who was in TO) when I finished 1st year I felt the same thing. We weren't at the matching BMW stage but we had our lives planned out, he was going to be an accountant and I was going to be a lawyer! He is an accountant and I am wandering aimlessly through life as content as a pig in shit. Weird how we save ourselves from ourselves.
from justjano :
Where did you get it? I can go and see it myself, I just don't want to pay for it.
from justjano :
I so wanted to see the tape, my brother in law has it but I did not get to see it. Everytime I went to see it it was not free. So if you can tell me where to get it for free I will love you forever!
from tcklyrpharsn :
Ah, I see. So "epilepsy" is up there with "stomachache" as far as specifics. Well, I'll stop asking questions now!
from tcklyrpharsn :
So, do you know what it is? Or do "they" know? Didn't you say that it wasn't epilepsy? (I remember that whole epilambanein conversation)...
from tcklyrpharsn :
oy! Having a wakeful seizure sounds slightly less than comforting. I hope it was a fluke, brought on by all-night drinking. Now go shopping! It's an order. *yawns* I just woke up. ha ha!
from ladechat :
Well, it sounds as if your Cripsmas was OK - minus the seizure part, that is. Hope you're OK now.
from justjano :
Ucccch I still am-- I am going home today. I am sure there will a long detailed journal about co dependance in my future. HOw was your Christmas?
from ladechat :
Hey, Sugar. I'm sure glad that I'm not the only one who finds LOTR a bore. Maybe because I never read it. That said, I may actually be going to see the new one with a group of friends (don't want to be left out of the crowd, right?). Have a Merry Cripsmas!
from tcklyrpharsn :
I wish I knew, my friend. It was all in Chinese characters, and, as is generally the case when I'm in the car with the ex-pats, I just blearily acquiesce to this and that, and stumble out of the car when someone tells me to. I'll let you know if I figure out which place it was.
from voodoolex :
thanks for your notes! yay notes! *smile* ... I *loooove* tool, actually ...! I have seen them like 5 times! my dog is only a teeny tiny thing, like the size of a loaf of bread, really. hehe she's very cat-like, 'cept she snores like a 300 lb trucker.
from almond0joi :
hey sugar-slit! this is almond0joi! I'm currently a freshman at college park, i just ended my first semester. anyway i was bored at college (go figure) one day and just wound up on ur page. i LOVE the way u write and it's just interesting to read about someone who's older than me...don't worry i'm not callin u old by all means! anyway if u want my password just email me at [email protected] and i can give it to u
from voodoolex :
hahah i am pretty much in the "scarf" stage myself. I've made three so far though! yah, i'm not exactly a knitting super star. i really want to make socks more than anything else, but i am a total gimp at it right now (using like four needles at a time! AAAACK!) ... i would like to joing a knitting group, sit around with people and learn things from them ... etc. 'cause sometimes i find books confusing ... i need to be *shown* how to do certain things .... but i don't think i could find enough toronto knitters ...?!?! <p> ah! long note! heheeh thanks for checking out my site .. keep on knittin' hahaha
from justjano :
Hey when are you coming to visit us here in the 514? I saw Jessica Simpson wearing your UGG boots--that bitch!
from misstress :
You thought I was older than 22? How old, exactly? I'm always curious about these things. And yeah, I should totally coast...it's just not something I'm used to.
from tcklyrpharsn :
the anniversary one, too. fo sho. I'm all about the mushy stuff these days...
from misstress :
Your last few entries have been of a quality that makes me writhe with envy. That said, you need to come to MTL.
from justjano :
That is my dream too! I wanted to win the 39 million and buy a place in the townships, and rescue dogs--I want to wear Wellies ( real ones ) and know that I am doing good work! You have to come and meet me and my dog, and everyone else. St. Pats is good cause there are lots of people around--like all the people I talk about in my diary! But come sooner if you want! You are the only one I have not met!
from tcklyrpharsn :
Your last two entries have made me feel very misty and teary. My roommate loved Lustigman so much... he was battling cancer in my last year, and I'm sorry to hear that he is still in its grasp.
from ladechat :
Sugar, you have to plan a road trip to MTL for St. Paddy's day. If there's a time to go, that's it! I'll be there. March 12-15.
from justjano :
I have been so swamped here, I did not get to leave you a message! I love it--you know I love Anna! I think she just has a big heart and she should have Seth--who is going out with Rachel Bilson in real life! GO Anna GO! It gives girls like me a fighting chance! Come and visit anytime and meet the other d-landers here in MTL--they are cool.
from misstress :
I can kind of understand why Ryan wouldn't necessarily be out partying his ass off, given his recent past. And Seth is kind of..sheltered. Oh my god. We're talking about TV show characters' motivations. I need a life.
from ladechat :
The OC was great - not what I expected to happen with Seth/Anna.
from misstress :
AAAH! MY EYES! I went to leave a note for JJ and I saw your note about The O.C.! I only watch it on Wednesdays! Now I know what's gonna happen! Ok. Now you have to tell me everything.
from justjano :
SS seriously the first time I wanted to do him he was so young that the law was an issue! Now not so much--I bet one day in a drunken state it will happen. I would bet that he is as curious as I am. It feels good to be bad!
from tcklyrpharsn :
fifty-nine and a half! woo hoo! thanks, yo. aieeeee!
from ladechat :
Thanks, Sugar! I ended up having a pretty good day, despite having woken up with a little cloud over my head. I laughed out loud at C's 80/20 comment. I'm sure my co-workers were wondering what was so funny.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Well, at least your family has a tradition i can understand. Luckily for me, my friend K is arriving on Saturday, and we have a tradition too. It goes like this. a)Admit you don't hate egg nog. b)Take punch bowl. c)Fill punch bowl with egg nog, leaving plenty of room at the top. d) fill the rest with a forty of rum. e) lock self (or selves, in this case) in house and drink until pants don't fit. f) go out and try to raise hell but fall asleep from all the nog. Now that's what I call Xmas!
from misstress :
A redheaded slut contains equal parts Jager, Peach Schnapps and Cranberry juice. I know. It's my signature drink for obvious reasons.
from misstress :
Wow do I ever feel your pain. Jason's family drives me insane as well, as I've detailed in many an entry.
from ladechat :
Yes, she does have a new album. I have it. It's OK - kind of the same old, same old. Not much of a departure. I have all her others, so I was just completing the set. Go eat cookies - that will get the metallic/bloody meat taste out of your mouth.
from ladechat :
I know better than to wear red shoes with a red outfit (JJ is my cousin, after all). The number of red pieces I actually own is very minimal as it clashes with my hair. Good luck with the veal. Was is JA playing live or just muzak?
from ladechat :
I heard about Bob and Estella last Friday morning. And then it was on all the "entertainment" shows that evening. I think my sister gets along better with JJ's sister than I do. I don't have a problem with her, but she's not MY sister, so we have a different relationship.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Dude! I forgot to ask you, my fellow OC lover, if you have ever seen the movie Lost and Delirious with Mischa barton? Did you know that it was filmed at good old BU? I was there that summer and got to see scrawny old Mischa run around the quad and pretend to cry a lot. It was uber neat. HA HAAAA. anyway, if you haven't seen it check out these screen caps: http://a-tribute-to-lost-and-delirious.com/screencaps_slideshow.htm How weird is it to see people being a movie on OUR campus, hmm? Anyway, it's clear that I'm a psycho who needs a tv so I can stop searching for things bout the OC in my free (or not so free time). bye!
from justjano :
Ohhhh SS I don't have enough room on any man made server to tell you why she is a bitch! She just is! She is nice if you do what she thinks that you should do. The fact that I am not a lawyer is a thorn in her side. Ooops sorry thought it was my life. I mean there are people who like her, LdeC likes her, as well as a cast of thousands, but not me. She is just someone I have nothing in common with and her values are so out of whack.
from justjano :
Kate Moss is my hero too! I have always loved her! Of course I am not a waif I am 5'9" but she is my hero. You sound like my friend at work she is tall tall tall used to model and is up and down--not skinny just very straight. I think that you can tell the difference between how Paris looks and how other people who are thin. I mean the shots of her ass crack leads to me to believe that she has no ass. I mean you can have no ass but it does not mean it is bony! My sister --has two real bags that cost a billion dollars each, but she is such a bitch that I would not even waste envy on her. So I will envy your bags! EN-VY! WOW if someone read this note they would think me so shallow--well get over it I am! ha ha! Did you have a full facial and massage at Estee or was it just a facial from your lesbian lover? Not "just" but you know what I mean.
from justjano :
Can I have your cast off's? ha ha! I know that there are some girls out there including one of my good friends here, but I just think in the line of work she is in read socialite, there is some serious coffee drinking, cigarette smoking going on. She does not look healthy, there is a difference! I bet you were one of those lucky girls who were endowed with boobs--hers are all dieted away. Well that is my guess anyway! I'll still take the cast off's though! ha ha ha ha! Did you watch for love or money? are those the same chewbaka boots( that Kelly wore with the bikini to the hot tub?)? You are my hero!
from tcklyrpharsn :
I wish I had a Masters I wish I had a Masters I wish I had a Masters I wish I had a Masters
from justjano :
I am a fashion whore--I wanted that bag, but hey I can not afford that bag! You are a better fashion whore than I will ever be!
from misstress :
I know! MTV recently ran a marathon of the shows to date and I couldn't tear myself away. Nick (we're on a first-name basis now) treats her very dismissively though. I really don't know who's worse, Nick, Jessica, her parents or us for watching.
from tcklyrpharsn :
What a funtastic birthday! Yay for you. Sorry 'bout the Uggs. Fuck Oprah is annoying... I can't believe that they are backordered till spring. Crazy.
from justjano :
Sounds like a great day! I am with Little Miss " Miss ", bring your chewbaka boots and your little skirt to MTL. Sounds like such a great day! I watched the Paris Hilton thing too--I love shallow people they make me look good! ha ha!
from tcklyrpharsn :
Doo doo doo! Happy Birthday!! Just think, you might be at estee lauder RIGHT NOW... or in line with UGG boots! purty exciting. Have a great day!!!! xoxoxo
from misstress :
Oooh! Pretty. Now you have just the thing to wear when you come to Montreal. :)
from justjano :
Happy Birthday Shuga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you and C have a great day at Holts and Estee! If you get those UGG boots I want to see them in the flesh! Have a great day!
from misstress :
Happy Birthday!
from ladechat :
Oh, I will bring pie; that's a given. What kind do you like? I haven't decided whether to try my hand at pastry in the new KitchenAid mixer or go with my old tried and true manual method... Maybe pie should be in order for when Tckly finishes her thesis. But then again, we may never get to eat pie, then (ha ha, just jokes, tckly).
from ladechat :
Oooo, pie with Jano. Can I play, too?
from misstress :
I read your note after I read/responded to your email. You have nothing to worry about. I won't say a word.
from justjano :
Well we don't have to drink until we end up in a gutter on St. Clair--hell we don't have to drink at all. But the pie is just not up for debate. I love those UGG boots, but alas I don't have the kind of money to buy them! But man they look comfy! I see by your knowledge of fashion we are going to get along fine! I love that you and C are going to Holts to spend time with Estee! That would be my dream date! Wonder if FB would do that for me!
from misstress :
As I am not privy to the intricacies of your relationship, I can't say *why* you would feel that way, but I don't think it's wrong to be flattered. If anything, it will put a little romance back into your relationship, provided you don't take the flattery too seriously. As I did. (slaps self on forehead)
from justjano :
Of course we are going to meet! What do you think that I am gonna say we are going to eat pie and drink martinis that I am kidding? Ha ha! I just figured that with you tooth thing that you would not really want to meet that way! I am not sure when I am coming home again, but it is drinks all around when I do! I did not meet Misstress as she was earlier than I was. Oh well we will meet we WILL meet! ha ha!
from justjano :
I am a leo SS and I love Sag's they are the best best best! You are all good people! I met one of your journal guys Misstress and she lives near me! ha ha funny eh?
from ladechat :
Pumpkin-anything is divine. Go for it. Personally, I am making individual molten chocolate cakes for Christmas. Mmmmm. Heavenly. Let's hear it for the Sags! This summer I lived in a house in Lake Placid with four other Sags (and one Libra) for a week and that was awesome. We all got along so well. I will be turning the Big 4-0 a week after you on the 9th.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Oh, I see. Tee hee! Or, as they would say on TWoP, "Hee!"
from tcklyrpharsn :
oy! The violin is only a $4600 violin, not $20000! I'm not sure where that idea came from. I wish, though!!! Holy crap. I hear you on the waxing. I understand. I just won't.
from ladechat :
Butterscotch pie - think butterscotch pudding in a pie shell and then top it off with merangue (a la lemon merangue pie). mmmmmm. I prefer cooking to baking, but I have taken a baking course at George Brown so I learned a lot there. Yes, it's way more scientific than cooking, which is more intuitive (and less apt to fail).
from tcklyrpharsn :
ha ha! you're hilarious. nice of you to drop all these addies for your good friend the waxer, but i'm an au naturel girl myself. i'm sure you would be disgusted, but, well, you'll probably never see me naked so it doesn't really matter, now does it? what is the guy on guy action? ? ? do we actually get to SEE luke's dad macking some guy? holy shit. i'd better hie myself to a tv.
from justjano :
TWOP may be the way to go with the old GG!
from justjano :
OH SS you kill me! You are so funny--funny I say! I am going to Tonic on Saturday on St. Laurent to have the same thing done--get the old hair redone. I think I look like a frump old person trying to look like a young person, so off with the hair and in with the new! I am scared shitless of the whole waxing thing! Scared I say! I found out that I can get a snowy version of fox on my tv so if the GG sucks ass then on to the OC it is!
from ladechat :
Mmmmm... piiiiiiie.... Have you ever made butterscotch pie? It's da bomb! I just got a new KitchenAid mixer for my BD so I'm taking it out for a test drive this weekend. I think shortbread cookies are on the agenda. What's your take on "O.C. Luke"? Will he be part of the high school outcasts now?
from justjano :
( I left this in my notes section again! ) I don't get fox as I don't have cable, besides it runs counter to GG which I just have to watch in hopes it gets better! I was thinking about the pie this morning--the idea of choco and shortbread crust--sign me up! We could have martinis too!
from tcklyrpharsn :
Eat pie? I want to eat pie! Oh, just think! You're watching the OC right now... *sniff* Well, you drive a hard bargain. How will I ever choose between TO and MTL now? waaah!
from justjano :
Hell I will coem home for an OC party. B is leaving for Australia tomorrow so I am going to miss the OC again! So fill me in kids! Please! Loved your entry--I so want some of that pie! I promise the next time I come into town we can meet and eat pie!
from tcklyrpharsn :
Aww, the OC! Have fun! I of course will be working on my thesis. That is not to say that I am disciplined. That is only to say that I do not have a TV. Also, I'm still in that Bishop's non-showering competition. I guess someone forgot to tell me it was over. Ha ha. Seriously, though, I don't shower too often. What's the point? I'm still a student. And I'm definitely still a bum.
from tcklyrpharsn :
tee-hee! it really raises the bar on my writing, doesn't it? too bad i have no brain to speak of today. and me with a thesis to finish by motherfucking friday. yo!
from ladechat :
I can imagine that drinking martinis while watching the OC would give the show a whole new dimension... Never been a GG fan, but must start watching Wild Cards next Wednesday after GG. I think my sister is on Episode 4.
from justjano :
Yeah I am beginning to agree with you on that one!
from justjano :
OK did you even watch GG last night? It is so bad now, and I really think next week it is going to get taken out of my regular rotation! Laurie Graham is off doing other movies--clearly she knows that her show is jumping the shark!
from fussbudget :
thanks for the nice note! i like your site too. you're a new favorite...
from ladechat :
No, it will be Summer. 16-year-olds always go for the obvious - they aren't mature enough to see any other way. So he'll sleep with Summer, she'll dump him, and he'll be hearbroken like the geek that he is. But he will come through a stronger person because of it (blah, blah, blah). But at least he'll be able to say that his first time was with a babe...
from justjano :
Maybe they have not figured out how popular Anna is! I mean c'mon it can not be Summer, that is wrong on so many levels! I know it mirrors real life and the pretty girl always wins but just this once can the other pretty girl win! I hate Summer--what kind of a name is that anyway!
from justjano :
Yeah I have had some father's have a crush on me too! That is a weird one! I generally get along with mothers though. So what is your thought if we are going to have Seth be unfaithful to us--Summer or Anna? I mean I know it should be Anna but what do you think? Have they made either of them stars on the show yet? What is happening with all the adults on the show ( like who really cares ) is thingme still seeing Caleb?
from ladechat :
You can't have Seth. He's mine. I'll arm-wrestle ya for him! Who'da thunk - Seth the Super Stud juggling two girls!
from tater-fay :
Thanks for the encouragement! It gets hard waiting around, ya know? But I'm trying to stay positive!
from tcklyrpharsn :
God Diggity Damn. I am so sad about not being able to watch the O.C. anymore. And TWoP doesn't come out till a week later 'cause of the stupid americans seeing it on weds. Ah, me! It is so sad.
from justjano :
OH Sugar that is the best entry! I have no idea what the hell is up with men and their moms! FB is the only male I know who stands up to his mom and man there is hell to pay! I went out with one guy " Make DO " and his mother used to size me up like she was the ex girlfriend! Not to mention she was a psycho! AAAAAAH mothers.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Dude, I DO NOT KNOW. But I wish I did. Right now I'm trying to convince Mark that he does not need to go to Wisconsin for Christmas, especially when we're, DUH, saving money for Europe in JANUARY. Duuuuh. I'll cut my face off if I have to go to Wisconsin.
from justjano :
That is funny, I would not have voted for John Tory in a million years! I did not even hear his platform to be honest. I just could not vote for anyone who would vote for the Island Airport--regardless of what else they were promising to do. I think that our city has been eroded in such a poor fashion we need someone to stick up for those who have been overlooked in the past--be it based on economic status, gender or profession ( read artists). But then again I left TO cause it was too much, so I should not really have an opinion that sounds like I live there. But I guess I do! How are you feeling? OK slept through the GG last night! Forget the jumping shark thing--the shark has eaten the show!
from justjano :
SS this is the time that you have to rely on TV without pity. Since I live in French Canada there was no municipal election where I am from! Sorry you missed it!
from ladechat :
Since most TV stations declared David Miller the winner of the TO's mayoral race at like, 8:15 on Monday night, the OC came on at its regular time of 9PM on Monday (at least that's when I get it). Sorry you missed it.
from tcklyrpharsn :
oh dear... what will you do while he is gone? you could always come over and learn italian, cheap-styles. just make sure you ration out those drugs. i'd hate to see you run dry before his return. Actually, who am I kidding? As if those will last out the week... Here's to the successful healing of your gaping holes and your guy-on-guy researcj night!
from tcklyrpharsn :
no no no... only the BOOKS, which I strategically took out of the library (read: FREE). We are the opposite of rich. We are going to sit out the couch and say "Ciao!" "Ciao, amici!" Good times... Meanwhile, I hope you're enjoying that painkiller. Sounds like a goodie.
from justjano :
Hey I see LdeC beat me to it, but how are you? Kraft Dinner will be good now! ha ha! Hey there is a secret between Coop's Mom and Seth's mom that could rip the two families apart on the OC! You better watch tonight! Let us bow our heads and pray that GG is not suck ass this week! Hope you are feeling better!
from ladechat :
How R U feeling?
from tcklyrpharsn :
Dude! JJ and I are sitting here at my house (drunk) and (of course) thinking about D-land and (of course) YOU! Eat soup, lots of soup! Hope you feel better soon, hot stuff! xoxo
from ladechat :
Good luck with the surgery. Hope you get good drugs.
from tcklyrpharsn :
good luck with the surgery!!! sending you wishes for lotsa lotsa demerol. JJ and i will miss you friday night!! :)
from justjano :
Hope the sugery goes well! Enjoy the painkiller induced high! I will have a shot for you and I will see you the next time I am in TO--you can count on that!
from justjano :
We can get drunk the next time I come to town. Will C be around this weekend to take care of you? If he is not I will email you my cell number I can bring you some soup! Yeah I am with you on the GG! Sucks ass sista! JUMP THE SHARK! I love Adam Brody too! Seth all the way!
from justjano :
So I watched GG last night and fell asleep! What do you make of that! No David so who cares. No Jess, or Dean or anyone that was a touchstone for my years of watching GG! I am sad it might have jumped the shark and if they don't smarten up I may have to jump too! What is going on there SS--I have not heard from you for a while!
from justjano :
Yeah 225 is not bad for a coat but I normally don't have that kind of money just lying around. It is snowing here and the coat is still perfect! I love when the heavens open up and let their beautiful fashion sun shine!
from justjano :
I leave notes for myself all the time! I am an idioooot! So what did you think of the OC last night! I fell asleep watching it! I think I should just give up trying to watch tv on Mondays and just tape it. So no to the Brand Manager? Yeah I hear you about the crazy hour jobs! That is why I live here in semi impoverished conditions! I don't want to give my soul up for a 65 hour work week! I am sure you will find something! I am sure I will find something! Ha ha! I loved your Luke entry. Did you read my entry about the coat and the decline of FB?
from ladechat :
I found Luke on my own (the wonders of Google). Just read the whole "sh!t in a plastic bag" thing and it's hillarious. My mother always said that anesthetic gives you gray hair and I did notice it myself after having surgery 3 years ago (or maybe that was just ageing). I didn't feel pukey, but everyone is different. Make sure you have someone to drive you home, or take a cab.
from ladechat :
I am being thoroughly entertained by Ben's diary, but where is Luke's? Same place? Don't worry about the IV - it's like going to sleep only faster and without dreaming. It's like time stands still while you're under. But it does give you gray hair.
from sugar-slit :
My interview was for a brand manager position at the place that tcklyrpharsn's boy just finished working at...I'm just not down with it. I am preferring the quieter life of non-marketing and non-crazy deadlines and non-64 hours work weeks. But that's just me. I'm scared about Friday. I'm scared about the IV. C. has really nice hands. Not girly, but manly nice hands.
from justjano :
I am all about hands! FB does not have the greatest hands and that is weighing heavily on my mind--could be a deal breaker for me. I am with LdeC about gross hands touching me! Ha ha! I think it is so funny that Luke had the entry about being at Flashback in the market--any he wonders why you would think him gay! ha ha! Great to hear about your sleeps! Great to hear it is drug free! Sorry about your teeth! That sucks but it won't be too bad I am sure! You never told me what the interview was for?
from ladechat :
My only thing on shoes is that they are wearing the right shoes for the outfit - no black running shoes with a suit and no cowboy boots - ever! The hands are a basic "I don't want anyone touching me with gross hands" thing. JJ suggested that I check out Ben and Luke's diaries. So many diaries, so little time...
from justjano :
yey for the knitters! i made BF a great scarf last year as I have for half of the free world! I love knitting. My purl stitch used to be strong but now I suck at it! I got turned around and now I battle my purl all the time! Whaaaaaa! I was at FB's having dinner and watching bend it like beckham! Wish I had a really good dirty story to tell you! Hey what was your interview for? I can't believe in this day and age boys still do stuff like take chicks with big tits into Pshop and make them into their friends! That is so stupid. I vote that you fuck him up some how!
from tcklyrpharsn :
sweet mother of god. i don't know how you stand it. maybe you should send around a topless picture of him in a pumpkin hat! i bet it would be a grrrreat office welcome! asshole.
from ladechat :
Hey, s-s, just wanted to say hi. Turned onto you from justjano. Keep up the good writing - I'm entertained.
from justjano :
I missed it last night cause I was busy having a life--on a Wednesday can you imagine? What happened? Any testosterone?
from tcklyrpharsn :
Ew, barf. What the fuck is wrong with these people? And also, I shouldn't laugh but um, did someone really send a doctored picture of you around at your old job? Holy shit, yo. I really hate the corporate world. Is that asshole still using your printer???
from justjano :
Work is just bugging me but I have hit a patch of accepting it. I actually went into our Pres' office and gave him a piece of my mind. I felt better when that was over. So it is ok. Life is going well, it just keeps getting better and better. Hey if you ever need to blow off steam just email me, I would hate to think you are stressed or upset and can't talk about it. Did you see the OC last night--it is getting good! Seth and Summer I love it. Ryan and Marisa who cares really! ha ha! But now Jenny is on board. I know I have to update and I think I am going to do that right now.
from justjano :
Ha ha she is a junkie now SS that is great--great I say! How have you been?
from tcklyrpharsn :
I know, it's great! ha ha! Mark likes it too. Think of me tonight at 9, when I tune in with snacks and bugged-out eyes! The only thing I didn't understand though, is why they stopped the marathon short of showing the last episode? I wanted to see Marissa down those pills! TG for TWoP, eh? ha ha I'm in your clique now!
from tcklyrpharsn :
oh, hitchhiker's guide! How I love thee. One of the bdst non-trilogies of all time. Read them, read them all!
from tcklyrpharsn :
yep, I figured out yer code, and you're right. it is a totally cool place to work. far far better than a conventional office. Although there is still heaps and heaps of your garden variety office bull shit, most of the people there are creative and interesting. Hell, they threw a great party for the Boy and wished us luck on our travels. I say go for it, if you're interested at all. you could always turn it down if you get it and don't like the vibe there...
from ihatepizza :
I'm just a little bored with Diaryland. I like Livejournal a lot more.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Weddings are sseriously zero fun at all anymore. it's such a sad thing. I always used to look forward to the open bar but neglected to realize that what got me to the open bar was usually a long trip, a new dress and a wedding present. It's always more fun to buy a six pack and stay home. Who's getting married? Bish weddings rule... er... yeah.
from justjano :
I just left TO a year ago. This is my home I really don't want to go back to TO. I mean my fam is all there but as Jenn would tell you TO is not for me. That is the crux of the situation! Yes I could live in english canada, yes I could make more money. But I would have to give up the dep bike guys, my best friends and the great life I have cultivated outside of work! So I guess the short answer is NO! ha ha! Yeah they are making Lorelei out to be a bit of a ninny wearing Earl Jeans. Dean got trashed and ended up sleeping at Luke's place. It was the night before his wedding--which they show briefly, and he was sitting in Lukes falling in and out of drunk sleep saying Rory. Then when he went to be he said " I miss her" " Why didn't she love me". Rory watched the wedding from under a tree--she and Lorelei were invited and at the last second Luke told Rory it would be best not to go. So they did not go. That was the best part of the show. Michel made his season debut last night. They broke the ground on the Dragonfly too. We were in Star's Hollow for the whole show--no Yale. It better pick up soon though!
from justjano :
I hope tonight GG is better and I think it will be. We need some testosterone in the show right now, no Jess no Dean--c'mon this show is supposed to be for 16 year old girls so where are the boys? Ha ha! I work in direct marketing but I would take any kind of marketing. I don't have a degree in it but I do have about a year work exp here at my job, and a year doing web work including rewriting a whole website and reworking another. I just need to know who to contact in the big bad world of marketing. I would love a job in the fashion aspect of marketing. Anyway don't stress yourself over my stuff I just need to blow off steam about how fucked all of this is! I think you should try fish again ( saw your note from Jenny) jambalaya and stuff like that rocks! I look forward to your thoughts post GG tomorrow.
from tcklyrpharsn :
ha ha! Sorry, I won't say it again. It's just that I had spent two days sitting in a car eating fast food...
from tater-fay :
You hit the head on the nail with my abhorrence of seafood. When I was young, my mother made this ghastly dish that involved heating up a frozen block of cod and pouring lukewarm tomato soup/sauce on top of it. It made me want to gag. I have hated fish since then. Mom's actually a great cook and she realizes now how nasty that dish was...but everybody makes mistakes:)
from justjano :
I find that the show ended weakly last season and I am finding this season starting out weak. It seems a little disconnected right now but I have a feeling it will pick up steam again. I thought the same thing when last season started! When does the OC come back on TV? I need my Seth fix.
from justjano :
Ah sugar slit you make me laugh! I love your waiting room story. Did you tape the GG? Tell me what you think!
from tcklyrpharsn :
thx for your nice thoughts... i cried all night on sunday, like a tiny baby. but then i realized that i was being childish. *sigh* hope all is well with you in your neck of the woods!
from justjano :
I am in Montreal, I just had my family here so I have not been on line. I also have to put my youngest cat Tony down--he attacked my mother after attacking me a few months ago. It is all pretty ugly right now.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Oh my God!! That is the FUCKING BEST! I can't believe you actually said something. I usually just sit there fuming and work myself into a frenzy and then rant about it to everyone I know for days. Good on you! And funny, but I thought that epilambanein meant "to lay hold of, attack, or seize"... (I am a failed Greek scholar, after all). In all seriousness, though... that totally sucks. Have you thought of going to a doctor that isn't such a fuckup? You probably have... but anyway. Boo.
from justjano :
I love your entry but I have to say my favourite on GG and the one I would have a crush on is Lorelei! Just love her frenetic ways! Rory way too nice and balanced. I am like Lorelei in real life--rapid fire crazy non sequitors the whole bit. My hair is a little lighter but apart from that I look like her! ha ha! I just really want all the great jeans she wears!
from tcklyrpharsn :
if they read the notes all they will see is that they really shouldn't be reading it and that you are in fact sick at home, feeling guilty about taking a day that you deserve! damn them. damn you if you're reading this and you're not sugar-slit, do you HEAR???
from tcklyrpharsn :
I was just going to say... maybe you should lock up...
from tcklyrpharsn :
Yikes! That is scary!!! Are you sure it's from today and not yesterday? Sometimes I think stats are a bad thing...
from justjano :
if I was a cryer I would cry everyday! BF and I are fighting all the time now--cause I am just pissed off. I work in marketing here in Montreal, I don't want to say where, as I have gone off at the mouth about the crookdom. But it is fucked here, everyone hates everyone, I hate working here and I can't wait until I get to use my great writing style to write my letter of resignation, thanking this shit ass place for the valuable experience. I swear if you know anyone here in marketing I am begging now! I am glad that you are getting better, I read your thingy on Nyquil. I don't take it as the one time I did I had a dream that my nephew died--so it freaked me out. You are not a skid for taking a day off, listen to your body and let it get better!
from justjano :
where are you? i have not heard from you. are you ok?
from tcklyrpharsn :
Wow, you did things like bake and have dinner parties? I am basically just a useless drain on both society and our relationship. I do clean the house but I always did, job or not, and the baking always wanes after the first week or so of novelty wears off. I am always so torn between being supported (which in this day and age basically means being lazy or something) and getting off my duff. But I like my nice round duff. I like it at home and not in an office chair. Okay that is all.
from justjano :
Ahhh I love you Sugar Slit! I too have wondered about the money on the diamond earrings this too! i mean he had his first year's tuition paid for and that even back then would have been about 10.000 in the states. i mean i could see him having spent half of it but all of it. I say 3 grand on the earrings and another thousand on every thing else. i love duncan in that movie, and the term gwat! GWAT! love that! that has to be the most underrated of the john hughes movie, i mean true we have no molly, but mary stuart is ahead of her time in that flick. which only goes to prove how brilliant jh really is! "this is a potrait of my girlfriend without any skin" classic!
from justjano :
Yeah I figure I just wanted to get the idea that while my journal is a public domain, it can still be intimate at the same time. I have this thing about trusting the pages of journals that I physically right in. I have thrown away perfectly good books because I did not feel the organic nature of journaling while using them. So my one time disclaimer is pretyy much like that. I can now trust my journal and be more brutally honest. Not mean honest but just more honest in the public domain. Much like Alanis talks about being as transparent as possible. I would like to be like that --even with all the responsibilities. Honest, open and not afraid of my feelings. OK off the soap box now! How are you feeling?
from tcklyrpharsn :
Ha ha! I see that Jano has already vouched for me. But yes it is definitely possible to do it simply and not freak out. Sounds like you won't be one of the bad ones, either, if you're already thinking about it. The best thing is to just accept who can and cannot come. I've lost a friend over that one already (HER wedding, not mine!) and hate to see it happen to other people!
from justjano :
jeeze that is pretty heavy duty about the meds. are the pro's that much better? i wish i could make the decision for you.
from justjano :
she did not turn into bridezilla--she and the boy did it in 3 weeks! i could not even make the wedding and she was STILL cool about it! she beat girls we know who had been planning their wedding before we met them! ha ha sammie! well i am sorry that C goes away at such a bad time, make sure you have someone on speed dial just in case. i would say put me but i am so far away! i would go on the meds if it improves the quality of your life. if you don't see a difference or it really bungs up your life, then reconsider.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Dude, I think it might be the ring. Because I never had one and I never succumbed to the horrific Bridezilla syndrome. I don't understand the whole THIS IS MY DAY AND YOU'D BETTER BE HERE BEARING GIFTS OR ELSE
from justjano :
thanks for your kind words about my GG synopsis. i often wonder if i am the only one who thinks i am prolific! ha ha i know i am the only one who thinks that, but it is good to know that i don't bore my readership to tears. i mean i only have 3 readers! two of which know me in real life and you. how are you feeling these days? are things getting better? was C only away one night?
from justjano :
would i let you down on something as important as the GG? I will recap right after the show is over, so you will have it when you get home.
from justjano :
i am so sorry that it is getting bad. i wish that i could help. are you getting any sleep at all? well try to envision then, during the day when you are stressed think of beaches in vietnam.... just leave me notes if you need to vent.
from justjano :
ahh the cherries! i love the cherries. hope that your seizures are ok! just dream of you and c going to HK or some great place. i am a firm believer in dreams as a way to get you out of what you are in at the time. so dream on i say!
from tcklyrpharsn :
yeah I'm all right... it's just... one of those things. I hesitate to write my plans because I'm afraid that they won't come to pass. I want out of my life just now... the Boy wants out. At least we want out together. Things could certainly be worse. I'll be more forthcoming once wheels have been set into motion. *kiss*
from tcklyrpharsn :
Cherries! Happy cherries! Hey, I hope you're okay. So no one knows what the seizures are caused by? (oops I ended with a preposition.)
from justjano :
Hey I forgot about Club Super Sexe! It's on Ste. Catherine I could kill two birds with one stone. I always wanted to pole dance! I have never heard of a consolidator agency but that sounds like a good thing. I am sure you will find a cheap trip.
from justjano :
No worries on the job front I am going to whore myself on Ste. Catherine! Yeah I am that good! ha ha! I am not sure what a consolidator airline is? Sounds dangerous. Good luck with the flight! I would love to hear about your trip. I love Asia!
from justjano :
As for finding a cheap flight! Well you may still be too far out for that. I flew to HK a billion years ago for abotu 1400 so you should be able to get one for cheaper than 3000. Did you try Cathay Pacific? Thai Air? I am not sure if TA flies out of Pearson but it is worth a check. Air Canada goes there too, call don't go on the internet--those prices suck! Know anyone in marketing here in Montreal? I want a new job!
from justjano :
Yes I am the loudest in the world! OK maybe not the world but I am loud. Not obnoxious just loud. I want Brown by Ivana too but what about those nasty file sharing services--they would have it would they not? I can check cause I live for Napster and all its incarnations. It is a hard album to find. Did you try that really good used record store right by Lee's Palace? I am sure you did, but just checking. Nice to hear that sneaky dee's is still raunchy. I have not had sex there, but I have certainly drank my fair share of Amsterdam Nut Brown Ale. I love it more for the history than anything. But breakfast rocks!
from justjano :
Sorry to post again, but do you read xeney.com? cause i think that your friend Pamie is her friend Pamie. Could that be? If so that is cool. Are you looking for Brown by Ivana Santilli?
from justjano :
Insomnia really? I drank there once and it was soloud in there. This coming from the loudest person on the planet. Have you been to Mimi's on Bathurst just north of Queen? LOVE that place, but my all time fav--it is not sexy or cool like Aunties and Uncles etc., is Sneak Dee's. Yeaaaah baby!
from justjano :
I think I found THAT out the hard way! FB--(if you read my journal) or my neighbour, told me that his physician gave him cranberry tablets. All they gave me was crappy antibiotics that make ME feel like ass! Ha ha! Oh well at least I don't have to pee all the time. Thanks for letting me know. Oh the mechanics of the body! ha ha!
from tcklyrpharsn :
Yowch! I had no idea it was THAT far away. That is horrifying. Meanwhile, if you ever do have a second, getting that list would be fucking amazing. I did not know that they had a copyediting program at Ryerson, either. How many years is it?
from justjano :
I love tv without pity. Ha ha! Well I can put updates on my diary everyweek--of course it won't be the recap of life but it will be funny! I hope the show is good, the last episode sucked.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Hmm. Thanks for the heads=up. Meanwhile, how would one go about getting a freelance copy editing job, I wonder. Got any connections? Truth is, I just want to be a housewife. Is that so bad? And where is harlequin? it sounds like it's in buttfuck... not so hot.
from justjano :
I am 15 too! So don't worry about it! Yey, someone who likes GG! I love GG ask Jenn. Y&St.C is not too bad at least not Y&E! Well if you miss any episodes of GG I can fill you in--I have no life Wednesdays at 9. The OC is going on Hiatus and it sucks--but the last episode was cheesy. I am over Ryan and Marissa. But Seth and Summer...but what about cotillion girl? I hope she comes back!
from justjano :
Just judging by the note that Jenny left you are in TO. Jenny lives near my old place I was at Ossington and College. Where are you? I am now in Montreal but I lived most of my life in TO. You don't have to answer where you live if you don't want to. Jenny is a real life friend and she rocks! Seth aaaaaah Seth, he used to be Dave on The Gilmore Girls--more of my McDonalds for the soul. I am with you on the nerdy guy! HHHHHHHOT!
from tcklyrpharsn :
Sorry for hating on the OC. Meanwhile, you're so close! I'm at Dundas & Dovercourt. Little Portugal, anyway. AARRGGHHH! I'm movin' back to the Annex, man. Nobody can stop me. (Except maybe sky-high rents and/or grungy student apartments.)
from justjano :
I am with you on the OC! It is not high drama but it is like a good cheesie when you need one!
from justjano :
thanks! i feel free to go and get it. i love the greeness of it. although green is not my favourite colour it is cool! go figure.
from drgeek :
Hi Sugar-Slit, thanks for your note. Yes, the design of my diary template was inspired by Mondrian, at least originally. After I saw the finished product, I also felt like it was inspired by Mission-era stained glass. Perhaps though, it was just easiest to draw lines and boxes given my (limited) artistic abilities and the tools at hand. Nah, that can't be it... *grin*
from apexsensatin :
Thanks for taking my surveys.
from tcklyrpharsn :
Ah yes, I remember Gypsy Soul, but not Countryman. Mark remembered it though. He knows all those guys. What about Bootleg and Redfish? So many bands, it's ridiculous. We might be going to the Townships for a bike trip the week after next! I love it there.
from tcklyrpharsn :
I lived in Pollack my first year (woo?) and then at 11 Church and then above the bakery across from McDonald's for two years. Is Frosty Adam Frost? If so, then yes, I know him. And as for Nick Hamilton, I don't know him but my partner knows all those guys. Mark Westberg is his name; he used to play in all kinds of bands there. WinderSoul (which I was also in), Max von Groovious, some other stuff. I guess we would have been there for a year or two at the same time, yes? As for knowing about Bishop's, you did mention it once or twice... and I was like.. YEAH, DOG! ~Jenn
from miss-edith :
Thanks! I wish I could take credit for my layout, but it is actually a Lex design. The girl looks eerily like me though. My updates will be sporadic for the next week or so, but usually I write M-F, so keep coming back!
from protogarland :
