Hey, You seem to be the only one still reading my journal and I really appreciate that. There are no words to express the comfort your kind words give me. So for now, it's just...thanks.

Thanks for the note! I have missed you! Too I have missed being on dland....locked the whole thing up and quit writing due to a psycho stalker from MN and residents of mine finding hte page and using the info against me. Crappola. So, I'm in the process of creating a new page and screen name....starting from scratch. I'll let you know where I end up! Thanks again, and I hope things are going well with you! Mwah!

Thank you for your kind words, for checking every now and then. It means a lot to me. I know I have been absent, it just gets hard to put your thoughts down at times. But thank you! And I hope you have a very merry xmas, and lots of love, and everything in between.
Thank you

that's the thing about dland- you get all used to folks being around and then they just disappear. i used to read kindergarten and finding-home and they have <vanished>. awful. and the strangest is to take such pleasure from people you know but don't know, and then to find them gone and to have no way of connecting with them. what a strange blessing and curse the internet can be- community and anonymity all wrapped up. anyway, i promise not to be a stranger. i won't be posting but i will be reading (and note-leaving). and you know where to find me, my dear.

thanks for your note- right now, it's just an existential loneliness. my beloved needed some time to get himself together (ultimately a good thing) but it's summer and i'm alone and i walk the streets quoting rilke and alice walker in my mind and trying to hold onto the faith that things will work out. many wishes for a peaceful, productive summer for you and i'm glad youre back- i've missed you, my dear.

Thank you for you great suggestions. Some people just don't understand unless they've walked the walk. And who's to say just how long is the right amount of time to grieve when someone has been your entire life for so long? A year ago, 3 years would have seemed inconceivable to me, but now....I can totally understand. Big Hug to you!

First: My prayers will be with you tomorrow. Second: I of course don't have children, but had a very "roudy" Brother (and the best Mom in the World I might add.) Anytime he wanted to stay out later than curfew, he had to present a good argument for the reason, and if it was indeed a legitimate reason (school function or something special) he had to earn that extra hour by doing chores around the house. If he wanted it bad enough....He'd do it. Just thought I'd throw that out to you. Big Hug!

i'm not quite sure why we have to change our clocks-- it seems to me there's nothing good about looking outside and finding darkness at 4:30 and it's even worse to have the knowledge that it's a downward spiral until the end of december when we will finally have the promise of the lengthening of days. yuck. i agree with you, theprocess.

you have it so right. my sense is that in some way a good part of adolescence is spent worrying about whether you're performing correctly, whether you're getting it all right. sometimes i forget how important everything was at 15 and 16.

In response to your note: it's interesting that each time I post something about tourism in Barbados or the Caribbean, somebody replies describing their own very positive experiences. I'm beginning to wonder if maybe we don't hear enough positivity about ourselves -- if because negative reports make better news and get more attention, we are seeing ourselves in a more negative light than others see us in. Which, if true, is sad, you know? Really, really sad.

theprocess - i'm so glad you wrote about monster's ball. i saw it last week and was left with a lot of ambivalence about it. i found the first thirty minutes or so to be an amazing critique of capital punishment and a beautifully scripted, tightly acted commentary on the criminal justice system. but after that, i couldn't really grasp the film because i couldn't relate to the characters. mostly, i didn't understand the quickness with which thornton was able to surrender his deeply engrained racism (and his many other deep uglynesses.) the relationship between berry and thornton didn't seem sufficiently fleshed out to do justice to the beginning of the film when the characters did seem fuller and more complex. i don't know... i'm still confused about the film i guess :) i'm glad you wrote about it.

There's a guy who lies in his sleeping bag outside my church every Sunday, and I always take a bit of spare change to give him; I'm pretty surprised at the number of people who don't give him anything though. I know people who say things like "Don't encourage them," and blah blah blah, but shit, the guy isn't lying out in the freezing rain in wintertime for *fun*, you know? I've been meaning to write an entry about it for a while.
