from athinnerme :
You can do it!!
from fatqueen :
Happy Birthday! Go on -- PLAY the lottery... you're right, you can't WIN anything unless you play. Thanks for that great insight ;)
from agamemnon81 :
I like how your entry was about how unmotivated you feel, and two notes behind me there's a person who's inspired by your motivation. Awkward perhaps? Anyways, I get down by the consumerism blues as well. I find that the trick is to reach that zen-like state where you know the world is going to hell in a hand-basket, but you don't care. Apathy: its the great happy-pill.
from ash-gurl :
you're great. you really are. witty and inspirational...and you sound like an amazing cook!! :)
from athinnerme :
you sound so motivated! that's awesome! I feel inspired by you!
from breadcrust :
It's fun to watch you all motivated and doing well! Makes me feel like moving my own ass more.
from skinny--girl :
go on wit yo bikin self! (sorry couldn't resist!) keep up the good work! sg
from fatqueen :
You GO! Mileage. Hummmm, there's a thought. It actually makes sense. Well, KEEP on TRUCKIN'. ;)
from biensoul :
Honestly, I can't see how he DOESN'T know I'm into him. I think he's politely ignoring it; I did get a phone call this morning, though. Ugh. Boys suck.
from agamemnon81 :
Ah, and I'm not sure why I threw it up on there. I think its mostly because every now and again I read through old entries, and it usually cracks me up as to what I thought was difficult at the time (several years ago I threw up some problems I thought difficult at the time). I always find it interesting to remember what I found challenging at one moment in time, and what I find challenging now. It provides some perspective, I think.
from agamemnon81 :
Not so much. Survivability implies that a group of servers can keep functioning, even if some of them break - for whatever reason. Say you have a webserver, which is actually several servers that are redundant - if you've ever seen the word "mirror", that's what we're talking about. If one of them breaks, we have to be sure that we can keep functioning. The question is, how do we know which one broke? And how many can we have break before we're screwed? Especially since a break could be what we refer to as a Byzantine fault, where the server keeps functioning but could start lieing to whatever connects to it. That whole paper summary thing is about how we go about doing that.
from thinwishes :
Thanks for the note! Hey... we are similar in weight. We should definitely be diet buddies. =-)
from thinwish :
I do the same exact thing with food! I had about 2 months where I just contantly craved peanut butter on whole wheat waffles with a glass of skim milk. I'd eat about 3 of them a day. I really thought I was pregnant or something because that's what my sister wanted when she was prenant. And then I'd be craving things that I usually hate to eat, so that really freaked me out! And watermelon! I hate watermelon too. But I like watermelon-flavored things! How strange! At least we're strange together! :)
from agamemnon81 :
Hey, don't get down on Sconsin too much - Appleton, Madison, and Green Bay are all pretty good towns. Ah, and as far as the track goes, you'll probably hate it unless you have a thing for Trance. I appreciate the open mind however :)
from thinartist :
actually, i don't doggy paddle. the other girl did. i have a somewhat pathetic side stroke but am trying to graduate to "free style."
from thinwish :
Yes, you doggy paddle, girl! I just wish I had the courage to swim as excercise in public! I think it's great!
from jenne1017 :
I didn't get your comments until now. Damn signmyguestbook.com! They don't send notification anymore. Thanks for reading and for leaving the comment - even though it was read late!
from vintagegurl :
6) total cuteness and opportunity to rub fuzzy belly :-)
from skinny--girl :
hi there & thanks for the note. ya i am shocked by the DMB poo dumping incident. i make myself feel better by reminding myself that i'm sure dave isn't in charge of the dumping :) and yes, The One...oh, if only there were signs on people's heads that flashed or beeped or something when you found him. sg
from rdhdprincess :
That was lovely. I'm going to quit telling myself that I am fat just for you. (well, and me!)
from athinnerme :
I think the "things I'm doing right" are great! I feel the same way and those are similar steps for me.
from thinwish :
Thanks for the note. Yes, today I did my own thing and I planned what I'd do all week, went to dinner with my roommate, and then he called. He's coming up this weekend! I know what you mean about feeling like you're being judged by what you eat. Even when I'm just with family or a close friend I feel like I should restrict myself. It's unhealthy, but what can we do? You're doing great, so keep up the great work!
from vintagegurl :
Hi! I went to a store where you can buy a big piece of wood, say 40' on 10', then you ask them to cut it the way you want for free. It's pretty common where I live. Invest in a drill! You could play with it in your studio!!!
from rdhdprincess :
Well, if it helps, I am sure that I am with the right man. There is one man from my past though, that I do remember and he does stir things inside me occasionally. It worried me for awhile, but then I had the ummmm...opportunity to be with him, and I realized that I wouldn't risk losing Kevin to be with him for even a minute. It made me realize that K was the one, but sometimes feeling die slowly, or don't really die at all. Thanks for the baby powder ideas, by the way! I'm on my way to the store! (Also, thank you for not thinking I am crazy!)
from skinny--girl :
thank you so much for the notes! and wouldn't we all like to be allowed, oh, maybe one week a year to become samantha! i think that would do it for me. i think some days i just get scared that i am getting "old" (ie grown up and responsible) and i yearn for my free and liberated days of parties and one nighters with friends. but i also know i don't want to grow "old" alone, and i love my B dearly - as i can tell you do yours. toodles, sg
from diet-riot :
Fun survey! No, you are wrong. I believe I am the queen of procrastination. As evidenced by my huge gap in posting entries.
from breadcrust :
I'm sorry about your car but glad you're okay. Go see your doctor and make sure!
from chubbychic :
I'm sorry to hear you had such a crappy day. I hate car accidents. No matter how little, they always make ya punchy for a while. Thank God for the State Farm agent! :)
from skinny--girl :
thank you so much for the kind words. it is our fifth year as well. maybe it's just the settling down "nerves" - i've never been very good at commitment! i'm glad that you or your co-worker were not injured, but even so, it is a rattling experience to be in an accident! take care, sg
from thinwish :
I'm glad that you weren't hurt in the accident! Your mom is right though -- you shouldn't have to pay anything. I always say that things come in threes too! Hopefully this will be the exception and you're done with accidents!
from gonzostar :
thanks for the guestbook signing on my diet diary. :) sorry about your car accident -- glad you're ok and that the other people will have to pay for it!
from thinwish :
Thanks for adding me! I added you back so we can keep up contact. I love going through all that old memory stuff. It's a kind of sweet sadness, isn't it? It sounds like you have a great guy now, so you hang on to him! I'm looking forward to reading your diary and keeping in touch! :)
from diet-riot :
Hm...memories...my first sexual partner...best to forget those times. But, we never really forget them do we? (I seem to have migrated to LiveJournal. I am theatre_nerd. Check me out! I'll still post diet stuff here though.)
from diet-riot :
I missed some stuff there. Your cat is gone...that is sad. But, maybe it was his time. *hug* I am glad your move is going well. Don't do too much and burn yourself out. You should snap some shots of the painting work. Before, during, and after. Your own home improvement show!
from skinny--girl :
so sorry to hear about your little precious kitty cat. i have three and i understand how horrible you must feel right now. take care, sg
from imabrat2 :
I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. :-(
from fatqueen :
I'm sorry to read such a sad entry on my first visit. I have had to put one of my cats to sleep, it will be 5 years in September. I will be back!
from fat-to-thin :
I'm so sorry about the kitty. :( I had to put my kitty to sleep in May... he was 14 years old and I'd had him for 13 of them (he was a stray who adopted me). It's hard, but you did the right thing. You are a great mommy.
from vintagegurl :
Poor baby! I don't even know if that's possible but maybe she has diabetes? Or cat-glaucoma? Poor sweetheart :-(
from diet-riot :
I wouldn't have guessed that. I guess you'll just have to touch her more often and reassure her that everything is okay. I hope her energy returns soon. She'll probably get to know the new place better than you will.
from diet-riot :
Maybe she's feeling stress too because of all the changes happening around her. She could just be a nervous kitty. I'm glad she went to the vet. Let us know what happens!
from imabrat2 :
Sorry about your kitty.
from diet-riot :
How exciting! A new home! I have often thought of scrapping my land line in favor of a cell phone only, but I would probably miss too many calls that way. I would definitely miss my cell. Especially when I need a ride!
from krugerpak007 :
I hope Jim does well! :-)Have a good weekend. Kathy
from diet-riot :
I often think about my childhood home and who lives there now. It has changed quite a bit. My parents have all the old photos. They will go to me when my parents are gone. I love those old pictures. Yes, I too need to take more pictures. I want to leave something behind. Nice skirt! And ON SALE!
from diet-riot :
Queen of Clean and Fitness Queen should co-author a book! You sound very determined. Way to shovel through the mess! I too must have the proper music on when cleaning.
from diet-riot :
I rock? Why thank you! In colorful bold lettering even! When I read encouraging journals (like yours), it makes me feel better knowing there are others who struggle like I do. Maybe I can do this after all. I will win the battle of the bulge!!
from diet-riot :
My list expanded when I got married and moved in with J. There are so many more things to spend money on now. (The suit sounds lovely!)
from diet-riot :
"Every day is a chance to be more healthy." Excellent quote! We know what to do. We just need to put those ideas into practice. We have to WANT IT! Just remember, YOU are in control. Not circumstance. Not your SO. YOU!
from breadcrust :
So you are responsible for those luscious window displays that cause me to overindulge in retail therapy, huh? :)
from lorster :
Hiya! Thanks for adding me as a fave!
from weymouth66 :
'Skint' is British slang for having very little money, like 'broke'. love Jess x
from rdhdprincess :
Sounds like a lovely day. The house (and new studio, yay!) sound great! Have a good weekend! Enjoy your affair with Sherman Williams. I have to admit that when we were deciding how to paint the nursery, I had a little fling with Martha Stewart....
from diet-riot :
Nothing wrong with sitting on your arse now and then. I tend to make to do lists and rarely do them. I do love making lists though!
from vintagegurl :
thaaaaanks. you're right ;-) and I hope you get the house of your dreams! <3
from rdhdprincess :
That was nice. Now that I think about it, I'm starting to like the person that I am starting to be, too. Good for us! Good luck on the house hunt. Those will be some lucky walls getting dressed by you! I am craving color, now, too. All of our walls were white and then we painted the nursery green and it was just so GREEN! Now the rest of the house looks pale and lonely. How cool would a red living room be! Anyways, I am looking forward to your future website, it will all come together!
from diet-riot :
Seriously, if you are going to bike regularly, get a bike seat pad. Get padded shorts too if you can afford them. I refuse to have a sore butt because of a hard bike seat. I love my padded seat. Good job getting outside and going for it!
from breadcrust :
Ok, where the heck does one find bran buds? Do I have to go to trader joes or some health food store or can they be found somewhere in a regular grocery store? And what do they look like?
from rdhdprincess :
And thank YOU! Yay! I'm so excited that I'm not doing this alone. It makes all the difference. Good luck to you with 1.5! Now, I just noticed a link to something called what will be your other website and I have to go check it out! Have a good day!
from kitchenlite :
Okay, life is just not fair! I'm 5'4" (and a half), weigh 155 and wear a size 14!!!! Wah!!!!
from diet-riot :
What a positive entry! Yes, I have heard that WOW chips do free the blockage. I need to find some kind of way to do that. I have been eating Raisin Bran and Bran Buds lately. I have been pooty, but not poopy. eww... let me talk about something else. Isn't is nice to have a guy who supports you for who you are? We women are too hard on ourselves sometimes. Guys deserve more credit than we give them sometimes.
from vintagegurl :
ooo!! congrats! it sounds so lovely <3
from diet-riot :
Yep...common sense. Eaither said than done though. You and I both know WHAT to do. Now, we just need to start DOING it.
from breadcrust :
Hey thanks for the note of encouragement - half the world is crazy, yes, and I need those reminders why I'm really doing this. And it's not for the world, especially not the crazy half!
from diet-riot :
At least you have a sense of humor about it. I would wail..."She doesn't like me anymore!!! WAAAAAHH!" I'm sure she appreciates those charming answering machine messages you keep leaving. :-)
from rdhdprincess :
Goodness, you must have a lot of clothes! Which is the way it should be, of course! I don't mind washing, it's the hanging up that kills me. Good luck, dear. Thanks for the nice note, too. I also cannot not watch Sex In The City. I watched them all new when they aired and every time I flip past HBO and see one I have to watch it again. It's like a short visit with friends!
from diet-riot :
Damn...two olive garden trips in that short time span? That is a lot of temptation. I think the next time I go there, I am going to tell them to keep the breadsticks away from our table upon pain of death. Thanks for the note. I need positive feedback now and then. :-)
from diet-riot :
I am really good at procrastinating. I am trying not to watch tv. Actually, i feel better when I am accomplishing something. I need to remember that feeling and hold on to it for the next time I am tempted to do something non productive. I too am a lazy artist, but my art is in performance. I have it in me. I just need to let it out!
from rdhdprincess :
I love the way you talk about painting. I wish that I had something that I was that good at and enjoyed doing so much. You're a lucky woman! And yes, bad T.V. is better than fast food! Ha!
from so-charming :
I just discovered the Schaumburg Dick Blick last week myself! It's about ten minutes from where I work. It's amazingly bigger and nicer than the one I usually go to in Wheaton. Have fun!
from marn :
Thanks for the sweet note, eh? You're right, attitude has a lot to do with many things. I hope your visit with your mom goes well and is weight kvetch free :)
from diet-riot :
Hm. I should try bran buds in my raisin bran! And hubbies can impress you sometimes can't they? Pizza is a necessary evil sometimes. Just move on and get right back to your program.
from so-charming :
Yay for your upcoming show! Is it local? If so, email me because I'd love to attend if you don't mind.
from vintagegurl :
awww... Phew! I'm glad the little bugger came back home!!
from vintagegurl :
:-((((( I hope Sam gets home!!! Keeping my fingers crossed XXX
from rdhdprincess :
Hi sweets! Thanks for the note, it was helpful. I hate stopping and asking for directions too, by the way. Hey, were you really a stripper?
from diet-riot :
I used to work out BEFORE dinner. That was when i worked out in the evening. Then, I worked out BEFORE breakfast when I used to work out in the morning. I was told that you burn more fat this way when your bady has no food to burn. Then, of course, you are vamished when you get home. Have some healthy food ready to go. That's just my take on it. Nothing wrong with working out whenever you can. It's good to be working out before dinner rather than not working out. I have been swamped lately too. I had to do chores on my last day off.
from vintagegurl :
that must be so weird... but cool at the same time!
from diet-riot :
Piss and moan all you want! That is what DL is for! Just take it one step at a time. You are going to f up now and then. But, you know how to eat right. You know what to do to get back on the wagon. When you're ready, just go one meal at a time.
from diet-riot :
hmmm...I wonder how many WW points are in one of those double cheeseburgers from McDs. I try to avoid red meat if possible. I love it though.
from breadcrust :
I really like your diary - I stumbled upon it through ms. diet-riot's links. It's gorgeous, as well as having very interesting things in it. Seems like we are similar eaters too. I'll be back for more.
from diet-riot :
Thanks for the nice note! Yes, the vitamins seem to be working. I am almost done with this crap.
from diet-riot :
Good for you! You know what to do even if things seem out of control. That was not a binge fest. You made some wise choices. You just need to do better the next day.
from diet-riot :
Good for you...running away from the stupid hair lady. Don't worry about overeating too much during your period. You are allowed to slip up. Periods are evil. We can't help but gain during that time. Just get back on the wagon when the bloating and discomfort go away.
from vintagegurl :
Wow! now you've gotten me all excited about the SB diet! it sounds fun ;-P. Thanks for adding me, I'll be reading you too. <3
from diet-riot :
hmmm...I wonder how much he won. It looks like you'll be getting some shoes out of the deal, so that is good. I need to follow your example and just SAY NO to taco bell and other non-healthy stuff. i can't talk about the gym. I got out of the habit long ago. I'm just getting back to working out at home.
from rdhdprincess :
I guess they still make TAB. I used to love it, must look for it again! Your willpower just kills me, good for you! I shall steal your idea and eat a small dish of cherry tomatoes as my snack tomorrow. That actually sounds really yummy. As for your list, I do all that too. Much more obsessed with food than I would like to be, but I'm trying!
from marn :
I'm relieved to say that Prince Charming is a minority of one at my gym. Most of the younger guys seem to be much more clued in to how women think about these things. Whew. Kudos on your decision to reshape your bod in a healthy way! I've stumbled on a few of the eating disorder sites here on Diaryland and it breaks my heart :(
from diet-riot :
2/16/04 Much fancier food than I usually have. I don't know if they sell TAB where I live. I thought that drink was phased out awhile back. I may have to try it sometime.
from diet-riot :

from diet-riot :
2/16/04 Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. At least you didn't eat a lot. Your menu sounds yummy!
from diet-riot :
Whooo! Limo rides! Cool! What a great trip! I would love to go there sometime.
from rdhdprincess :
Hey, K has size 14 feet, too! As a matter of fact, I ate at Arby's yesterday, too. I haven't forever and it was SO good that it had to be very bad. Anyways, have fun in Vegas! I am horribly jealous, but have fun anyways!
from so-charming :
To bold a single sentence in your journal... use the html tag <b> before the sentence and then use the </b> after the sentence. I'll look forward to seeing your list!
from rdhdprincess :
Hi, thanks for the note. I will definitely be looking for those whole wheat, raisin bagels. I'm sorry, but Martha sounds miserable to work with! You have my sympathy. I wish I could keep my cool as well as you. Good luck!
from littlebub :
Thanks for the support! :) Good luck on your journey-- I'll be following along.
from sarahsundae :
Happy Birthday!!!!!
from thaphatdiva :
Hi! Thanks for leaving me a note. I'd be more than happy to send you the code for the table if you want it!
from so-charming :
Love the new layout!
from sarahsundae :
I'm 5'4". Not tall, but not short. About average. Thanks for the note and saying I look awesome.
from so-charming :
Just wanted to let you know I'm temporarily locking my diary to ward off potential snoopiness by my kiddo while she's at her dad's for the holidays. User name is nosy, password is rosy. :)
from laura-ly :
Good luck w/ the weight loss!
from fat-to-thin :
Thanks so much for the note. :) Unfortunately my budget does not extend to Lane Bryant... at the moment I'm dirt poor and am looking more along the lines of Walmart and Target. ;) Besides, I am a very short person (5'0!) and Lane Bryant carries NOTHING in petite- only average or long. All I can conclude from this is that either short, fat women do not exist or they walk around completely naked. Hmm.
