from alicefalls :

from rufusmonk :
Hi twinsie! If you emailed me a password, I didn't get it (my hotmail account is defunct). If you'd like, you can reach me at [email protected]
from twinsie :
Ok so the diary is officially locked. If you are not: frewmanchu, mugwhump, rufusmonk, josquin, alicefalls, or laura-jane I have not made a password for you. But I will! Just email me or drop me a note in here and I'll set it up. Because there's all the weirdness on diaryland right now I don't have josquin's or Laura-Jane's email addresses because I can't get onto your pages. Once I have those I'll email your password to you. Everyone else should have received an email with their password. If not, let me know. Again, my locking my diary has nothing to do with keeping my current readers out, I'm just protecting it from any possible students who stumble across the page and recognize who I am and all the people I talk about. So if you have any interest in continuing to read my page let me know. Thanks!
from mugwhump :
Thanks for the note you left. I promise to keep you'all posted. I'm really sorry to hear you're going to have to resort to locking. That sucks! However, that is where I hope you'll keep me posted. I'd hate to loose you. :-) LJ. P.S. Nice pic's. I've never been to Florida, and I'd love to see it. I truly hope you had a grand time!
from mugwhump :
As a matter of fact I have missed you!!! It's 8 above this morning, and probably going to be quite sunny. Enjoy Calgary for all its worth, and come home refreshed! Merry Christmas - LJ
from mugwhump :
Thanks for the e-Christmas Card. It made me giggle out loud. Thankfully there was no one else in the office at the time. They already think I'm a little loopy. Have a very Merry Calgary Christmas, I'm looking forward to reading all about it next year!! Cheers - LJ
from josquin :
It looks as if there may be some lost academic productivity here in Australia... I sent the cartoons to one of my PhD friends, and her reply was: Thanks - that was brilliant! I've just sent it on to all my PhD friends... :)
from mugwhump :
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures you posted today. Amazing clarity, and colour. Would you e-mail me the one with the coloured peppers? (don't worry I'm not going to see it, I just want to use it as my screen saver or something). Also - I was at Safeway tonight and thought of you - I bought some chocolate covered Jube-jubes. :-)LJ
from josquin :
Sorry I'm always leaving notes, because comments don't seem to work for me... I love the Scottish accent. I loved walking through Edinburgh and hearing girls talk... where was I? Good luck with your man-festival :-)
from josquin :
I thought of a good question today after I turned the computer off... what do you want to be when you 'grow up'? Cheers- J
from mugwhump :
Thanks for the note. I'm glad you're injoying the travelogue. I originally thought I could write it all up in one entry - HA!!! I have since found out differently. Also - I recall you saying you LOVED chocolate covered jujubes - and could only find them at Safeway (I think). Well, on the weekend I found them at Mt.Doug Market. A tasty addition to T and my's movie night.!!
from josquin :
We Aussies must be going for a world record! I'm sure if I was in a bar and you walked in, I'd feel less of an Australian if it took me more than two seconds to hit on you ;-)
from mugwhump :
Linking is easy if you're married to a computer guru who teaches you the first time, then you cut and paste after that!
from mugwhump :
thanks Twinsie - I am in fact seeing someone. I just felt the need to express it in my diary too. Thanks again - LJ
from mugwhump :
It's a tie between the bowling mom's and the military dad and daughter. However, Rude does seem to be everyone's middle name!!! Drives me crazy - We must be Canadian!!
from mugwhump :
I remember the Stampede. The craziness, the people . . . but most certainly the chuch-wagaon races. What fun. Bring back some of those thunderstorms too. I really miss those. >LJ
from mugwhump :
AND I knew you wouldn't puke. You're made of stronger stuff than that!
from mugwhump :
Way to Go Girlfriend!!!!
from mugwhump :
We JUST dropped the girls off at the ferry. Cutie-Pie has to be back to work tomorrow night. And as to coffee date - I suppose I can wait until your return from Calgary, ah schucks! Cheers - LJ
from rufusmonk :
Hi twinsie - I'm sure 20 different people will be emailing you to say this, but what a lot of people use (including me) for a commenting system is haloscan (http://www.haloscan.com). It is free and there are instructions specifically for diaryland. Really pretty easy, just cut and paste the code into your template.
from mugwhump :
So you like Clive Owen? Have you seen "Greenfingers"? Gotta rent that one. It was my first initiation into the acting world of Clive. Very funny, very british! And if you're in the need of new scenery - come by for coffee sometime!! Cheers - LJ
from rufusmonk :
Yes, much good grad student/TA info, useful for us people who fantasize that such things might be possible for mere mortals.
from mugwhump :
Your TAing entry reminds me of the many stories my T would come home with at his experiences. You people who take on TAing, are a different a rare breed. What are you going to do in the fall? Cheers - LJ
from laura-jane :
Insightful entry about T.A.ism--all the information I always wanted to know but never asked. Thanks for sharing..!
from mugwhump :
I only hope they get some new jokes. I'm already tired of the same routines. New Jokes, New Jokes I tell you!!!!!
from mugwhump :
OK - one more thing on LCS - You KNOW they aren't really going for "funny" but more personality imbalances for in the house. Thats what makes people tune in week after week. Oh, but where would we be without TV? Probably better educated and more stressed out.
from mugwhump :
Me again, again . . . I've told a few friends and I don't think theres a single one who's cared. Even my husband doesn't read me, unless he walks in on me when I'm in the middle of an entry. Some people just don't care - but be assured you have a faithful Diaryland following. >LJ
from mugwhump :
I missed LCS last night. The Iranian Jew is gone??? Oh how sad. I questioned some of their choices from the previous night. Especially that woman who used the "C" word.
from mugwhump :
No - I'm a complete dweeb and hit my site not yours. But you're right, now EVERYONE knows why T got pulled over on a yucky, rainy, should have taken the van kinda day. (teehee)
from mugwhump :
Hey - I posted that on the wrong site. But you caught it anyway. How funny is that?!!
from mugwhump :
Me neither. But this is fun!
from mugwhump :
HA!!! If we both had MSN then we'd really be flying. I too, like that Iranian Jew. There's one woman I like too (with the dark long curly hair). And the married couple, but I doubt they'd let them go into the house together. Who knows. LJ
from mugwhump :
As we write - Das Boot is off!!! No marathon's just yet though - HA!!! (I'll leave those up to you). > LJ >p.s. in a weird way - we'll be watching TV together - or at the same time really. Got any favourites yet?
from mugwhump :
Do they move into the house tonight on Last Comic Standing? Or are they still in semi-finals? Must Watch!! Also - I'd be interested to know what you think of "Lovely Bones". You are the second person in two days to say they are reading it. Later - LJ
from mugwhump :
Glad to know I'm not the only one watching "Last Comic Standing". I got addicted last year when it was on. We're also looking forward to the Amazing Race next month. Cheers - LJ
from mugwhump :
So your from Calgary eh . . ? Ever heard of Sundre?
from mugwhump :
I thought about you yesterday as we attended my T's convocation. What an event!!! Congratulations! And try to not to fall asleep or play with your tassel to much during the boring speakers!! Cheers - LJ
from mugwhump :
Have a great time at convocation today. Congratulations - You deserve it!!!
from mugwhump :
I thoughts you said your life was going to get slower and easier after your last exam . . . which was a few weeks ago. What happened? Try to relax and enjoy the invigilating, conference and stuff. Graduation is just around the corner. Please tell me if you think our paths may cross the afternoon of June 2nd at UVic. That would be cool! Cheers - LJ
from mugwhump :
Old Navy is now open!!!??? I've been waiting and wondering . . . . Yay!
from mugwhump :
Are you convocating in June? T does on the 2nd. Maybe out paths might cross! That would be cool.
from mugwhump :
You Go Girl!!!
from mugwhump :
So what do you think about Amber and Rob winning? And Rob's big question? Whatever will we watch next Thursday?
from mugwhump :
Never mind that snitty woman. What does she know about an inability to breath. Having been an asthmatic since I was 11, I KNOW that post-inhaler feeling. I always felt like my heart was going to leap out of my chest it was pounding so hard. You keep up the running, but at pace your comfortable with. I'm proud of you for even trying it!! Cheers - LJ
from mugwhump :
Thanks for the . . . . sympathy (you thought I was going to say note didn't you). Anyway - I get to make my husband do my bidding for a couple of weeks. Maybe he'll appreciate the things that he never notices. Like cooking, cleaning, laundry . . . Cheers - LJ
from mugwhump :
Again - thanks for the note. It doesn't seem to be over yet. *Regarding getting out of Victoria - I sometimes go years without getting off the island, and I always feel like I'm stepping into a foreign country once we hit Tswassen. Silly really. LJ
from mugwhump :
Thanks for your note. I appreciate your thoughts and suggestion and will try it.
from mugwhump :
Great entry on the running. I am so with ya on the high school thing. I'm still alergic to exercise. Keep up the running - you'll probably love it eventually.
from laura-jane :
Congratulations! It's a long haul, and I am always impressed to hear about people who actually get through it all. Best of luck on your presentation!
from mugwhump :
I knew you could do this!! YAY You!!! But you've got me curious . . . . what's you're degree in? (Sorry if you've mentioned it in previous entries). Cheers - LJ
from mugwhump :
You can do this Twinsie!!! You WILL write a brilliant paper! Procrastination is an art, but sooner or later it leaps up and bites you in the . . . .
from mugwhump :
Twinsie - did you ever find Dove Eggs in town? My husband now wants them Easter and time is running out. Also - great pic, nice to put a face to the writing. Cheers - LJ
from mugwhump :
Hi Twinsie. Sorry you're feeling low. It's that time of the year AND bad timing at that. You're so close to the finish line, no cold should keep you down. LJ P.S. where you've listed your favourite diary's you've spelled my site wrong - take out the hyphen. Get better soon.
from mugwhump :
Something else will come your way. By the sounds of it, you've worked hard to be where you are. Think positive - don't dispair. Am I the ONLY one to leave notes for you???? Ya gotta get out the word girl!!
from mugwhump :
Speaking of Cooper Anderson - what ever happened to "The Mole"? Not Celebrity Mole, a fun show, but not very real (if I can use that word). Will they ever bring back regular joe Mole????
from mugwhump :
I just read your Dove Chocolate entry. My husband loves'm too! But after a little looking on the internet I came across their website. I would suggest you use their feedback page and ask them who might distribute them locally. www.feedbackasp.com/dove or the home site www.dovechocolate.com/collection/seasonal.html Good luck. PS - Thanks for listing me on your fav's. I'm honoured. PSS - I'm a local lady too! How cool is that!
from mugwhump :
There's an old adage - that if you hang out with pretty people you'll never get noticed. So - get yourself some less than pretty friends. That is of course if you don't want to be invisible. It has its benefits. I've always been invisible. That is until the right guy saw through the transparency. So I married him.
