Thank you! So many folks at work don't put a comma after the word however. It drives me crazy. It would certainly help to have more folks like you back me up and perhaps hit a few of my colleagues over the head when they don't. =)

You're such a nerd ;) But c'mon... give us all a break here... I don't think people are too concerned about their spelling/grammar etc. in blog lands... I don't - I know I have errors all over the place but I know it isn't a professional email to my boss or a letter to a newspaper or something that anyone would care if I fucked up on... oh wait - you care... but why?!??! Let it go! Haha... Anyway, if you want it so perfect then, you should use your proper capitals etc. then! Everything is in lower case in your blogs, and now, just because, I am gonna bitch about it. Hah!

Oh my God! Crazy shit! That's an awful feeling. Good thing for insurance, but I hope there wasn't anything taken of sentimental value that is irreplaceable. I thought you had an alarm though? Wow. I'll never forget Black Friday, that's for sure. I lived there when it happened (I was only 10 years old, but it's still clear to me)and I think that's why I still get paranoid about tornados! It was pretty scary stuff... you would have loved it though, I'm sure!

My thoughts are with you and your family. I'm not big on humidity, simply because it makes my already oily skin break out even more, but I'm so used to it that it's not a big deal. Another addiction you have? Grammar and proper usage of words. As you know, I'm like that, too. I also love Big Brother, so that's okay in my books. =)

It'd sure have to be a pretty friggen great day to want to live it over and over again. Frankly, I have not had THAT good of a day that there is one at all I would want to live over and over again. It bothers me how you say you "didn't treat her as well as she deserved". I think you are too hard on yourself. You both may have done things wrong, but I just cannot believe it was only you who didn't treat her right. There may have been room for improvement on both ends, but at the end of the day, it just wasn't meant to be. Do you think *you* were treated as well as you deserved to be? Think about it that way. I don't know that much about the relationship, but I know you would have tried your best and treated the woman you love the way you felt you could and that is who you are and there is nothing wrong with that. Don't go changing. I noticed in the end you were trying TOO hard, and not being yourself. It has to be about YOU too, not all about putting her first. Understand? You must love YOU first, right? It's not YOUR fault. I hear too much about how you hurt her. What about how you were hurt? Quit blaming yourself. I will say it over and over, SHE IS OUT THERE! She will love you for you and being yourself will be treating her right. When you find her, it won't be this hard, especially this soon. You'll see. True love is a lot easier, especially in the first year. If you break up this many times, it becomes apparent that it was a good time, but not a long time, and it is time to move on. I hope you will. I only say this cuz I love ya. Sorry if I am harsh.

Say hello to Edmonton for me, and have a nice trip. I am sure the parents have no reason to dislike you and there will be a friendly exchange of hellos & catch-ups... not to worry. We will have to get together when you get back... starting to forget what you look like! ;) I am worried though about you and your much needed alone time... I mean, sure, everyone needs some, but if you are getting serious with this girl and maybe one day will settle down, soon you will have to get used to sharing almost all of your time, especially since she has a child, and one day you will want your own as well. I hope this does not affect the relationship - I have high hopes for this one! :-) All the bst.. Love Lilmisskewl.

You make me laugh with your pickiness about grammar and pronunciation & how it really gets your skin crawling. That's just you Weathergeek, I know, and love ya anyway - quirks and all... but who really cares how other people say Saskatchewan or all the other words that make you crazy?!?...Oh yeah - You do! ;) But as long as you're saying it correctly (or how you think it should be said) then great - if other people are saying it wrong, why does it hurt you so bad? If I were in Winnipeg and you had invited me to your party, I would have dropped by... really! I would have fit in. Weird Watty... see? ;) I agree... folks here don't pay much attention to the Argos. I did because I'm just an oddball. Fans aren't as into it as those who love the Bombers. It's pathetic when the announcer has to tell Argos fans to yell and scream at SkyDome, for instance. That never happens at a Bomber game. Fans are too busy insulting one another for sitting on either the east or west side of the stadium. Anyway, it sounds like you party was a success. No need to be too hard on yourself. You did well. =)
|
| from
lilmisskewl : |

PS: You never have had any parties since I have ever knew you - so I am not sure what you are meaning by this happening all the time.
|
| from
lilmisskewl : |

Of course you're different. I don't think I'd like ya much if you were like everybody else. What fun would life be if we were all the same? Weird? Yes, of course - but that's one of the things I like most about you. I am as weird as they come... nope... weirder. I am not sure what everyone else's problem is about not being honest; and I am also not sure what this deep-throat is getting at... sometimes sure, you could loosen up a little, but I don't think that has anything to do with people lying to you or whether they attend your parties. I love ya, and many people do. So whenever HW makes up his mind about your party - keep that in mind whether we do come or not. If people aren't telling you the truth to start with - then yes, there is a problem with these friendships, and they need to be dealt with. As for cane - you could have offered to carry her up the stairs! Piggy-back - whatever - they seem to be excuses and nothing else. Having said that... HW seems to be leaning towards going to his Mom's place... but I told you the truth that I was leaving it up to him in the first place - because I am not a football fan. Cheer up okay. *HUGS*

Honey, you are a little weird. And so am I. And Bear. And all of us out here. You're just your own special brand of weird, that's why we love you. (You already know that I have no problem spending extended periods of time with you, so I'm not gonna bother with that allegation.) Sometimes people are just jerks when you go to the trouble of planning things. And sometimes that's when you find out who your real friends are. I guess that means we're in the same boat. Hey! Let's turn it into a pirate ship, that's more fun! (Can you tell it's 4 am here and I can't sleep?)

Hey Dave!
Sorry I didn't explain about Winterpeg. Keith and I got there around 10:30 pm and left at 6am. I had seen my friend Curt at Rob and Reag's wedding and had made plans to stay with him and his wife. Honestly, I had forgotten you lived in Winnipeg. I didn't forget that you lived far away or that I missed you or that I wanted to see you and I certainly didn't forget about YOU but I forgot about the connection with you and Winnipeg. Winnipeg usually makes me think of Mennonites. I'm so sorry I would have LOVED to see you and you are more than welcome to visit us in Hamilton or the next time we're in Winnipeg I promise to drop by (or if we're both in Edmonton). Love you lots and lots. Drop me an email anytime. Love, Africa.

I think Hogtown comes from the 19th century, when there were farmers' markets in town, and also farmers would (and still do) come in to town with their animals for the Royal Winter Fair. There are also slaughterhouses in town, though probably not as many as there used to be. The biggest farmers' market is down at St. Lawrence. I hope this helps! I love your diary.

Sorry I missed telling you what to do... hope to get another opportunity down the road. =) Seriously, I would have advised you to tell ap how you felt about her and you did. Good for you! She obviously likes your company. Even though her signals seem unclear at times, I also think that she's interested. Maybe she's sorting her feelings out about getting into a romantic relationship again? I don't know, but you've certainly gained a friend out of this, which is great. Enjoy the ride.

So...two things: first, you and I know all about having a crush on someone (ahem) and then having it turn out to be a great friendship (distance notwithstanding) ;) who's to say that if things dont work out with ap that it couldnt be another good thing? Second, I hope that you're doing better tomorrow, man period or not. Hee. *hugs*

Yes, go for it. Not all women are like me, actually not many will just come out like I do and say what they feel and what they want. They wait for the guy to make the first move. Maybe she has the same thoughts as you, and is afraid of ruining the friendship, but you'll never know that unless you try. If she is truly your friend, she will deal with it if she is not interested, and keep your friendship. No note though. Talk to her. Tell her you have developed this crush and want to see what she thinks, and hope that if she does not feel the same way that the whole thing can be forgotten. Don't go on thinking "what if"... I know you, and I know you would hate that. We'll talk more later. DO IT! And good luck!

Weathergeek, hun, we need to get you back in the loop. Methos (Bear) stood up for Africa (she called him her 'bodyguard bridesmaid', he helped with showers, helped organize the stagette and fended off the creepy guys at the bar) and Foreman's good female friend stood up for him. Africa is being a groomsman in our wedding (she's sooo excited about this) and my ex-boyfriend Ira is being a bridesmaid for me (so he gets to say "I'm a bridesmaid in my ex-girlfriend's wedding").

You are right... that wet snow was really from melting snow that was landing on my car's windshield, making it seem like wet snow was falling, but it really wasn't.
It's nice to have a certified meteorologist handy to correct me. If there is that chance of a major snowstorm or blizzard, I'll certainly see the results when I come back from my trip. I hope it doesn't happen.
Thanks for making me smile this fine afternoon. What you've said makes sense. I've don't urinate standing up, so I don't know. I'd have to clean the mess up on the floor, so I'll just continue sitting down. Well, unless I urinate in the shower. Okay, I'm grossing myself out now... must stop. =)
I envy you for being the proud owner of a satellite dish. If you see a woman running out on the streets, holding her head between her hands and screaming, "No, not another Oilers game!" this week, you know who I am. Have a great week! =)

It's an educated guess. Err, right? =) Just kidding... took a meteorology class in my first year of undergrade. I liked it a lot, but became a computer geek instead. Yeah, I'd be surprised to hear from an ex. You handled it well, without spamming or swearing at her. Take care. =)

"people in edmonton (and maybe it's just the people i met and knew, but that's all i have to go on) are braggarts". Gee thanks weathergeek. Sure, all Edmontonians are exactly the same. You met me, you knew me, and therefore your think I am a huge braggart. I'm sure that all of the people that are reading your journal from back here in Edmonton are thrilled with your remark. "they're all about cutting their competitor down to better their own position, rather than beat them on merit. " Yup, chorusline did that for sure, all Edmontonians do this, it's tradition! There's not a sportsmanlike bone in the whole city. I'm not saying you should edit, but maybe you should think and make sure you mean something before you post it. If you meant that then I'm sad to know that you think that about me (and our mutual friends), but for now I will be happier to assume that you weren't aiming at me.

I can relate to feeling like a wimp when it gets cold. I try not to complain about it. However, when I can't feel my fingers anymore and I am wearing mittens, I can't help but to grumble. Can always tell those who were born and raised in MB with their coats wide open in -30ºC or colder temperatures. I'm bundled tightly in layers of clothing and can barely swing my arms when I'm walking outside. I'm proud to be wimpy. =) Have a good trip back home, and happy holidays if I don't get a chance to drop you another note before you go.

Hi there! I found your site and have enjoyed what I've read so far. I'm glad the Atkins diet is working for you. I'll make a mental note about freezing cooked bacon. You share my same grammatical annoyances. Add "one criteria" to the list, too. I cringe when I hear that, and have corrected folks with "criterion" when it's supposed to be singular. I'll come back to visit again soon. Take care. =)

I agree! I feel like the day to day things that you worry over, think about and generally have on the front and back burners of your mind are what keep us close in spirit if not in body. I think you should keep your entries as real as possible which is exactly how they feel now!
Hugs

It's funny that you're saying you want your entries to be more about big and important things while I feel like my journal is not a journal but a series of contrived pieces in journal form. I'm trying to make my journal more connected to my everyday life and less a polished work. You're connected to your everyday life and I think that's great. A journal should be used to put into words what you are living and I don't think you need to change yours.
